a. virosa description :
"amanita virosa first appears as a white egg-shaped object covered with a universal veil. as it grows, the mushroom breaks free, though there may be ragged patches of veil at the cap edges. the cap is initially conical with inturned edges, before becoming hemispherical & flattening with a diameter up to 12 cm (4+3⁄4 in). the cap often has a distinctive boss; it is able to be peeled & white, though the centre may be ivory in colour. the crowded free gills are white, as is the stipe & volva. the thin stipe is up to 15 cm (5.9 in) tall, with a hanging grooved ring. the spore print is white & the spores egg-shaped conical & 7–10 μm long. they stain blue with iodine. the flesh is white, with a taste reminiscent of radishes, and turns bright yellow with sodium hydroxide."

"i LOVE how close this fungus looks - especially when young - to famous edible species like button mushrooms. also, scientists almost discovered an easy way to determine if a mushroom is edible (the ability to peel its flesh) until THiS lil guy came along & absolutely ruined their theory, lol."

🐝🐝Did you know that honey made from the Mountain Laurel is toxic?
Let's make a Bee Tamer for my story!
Previous Posts in series:
Magic System
Started a Society (Horse Church)
✨🦈Shark Prince🦈✨
Before I start, I would like to give out 2 ideas for the magic system, you guys can tell me if they work or not.
Chosen's are different from Mimics and Tamers, Mimics and Tamers are descendants of Chosen's. And Chosen's have the power of both Mimics and Tamers.
Tamers are known for being able to communicate to and persuade one species of animals (i.e. shark, ducks, bees), so maybe they can also persuade Mimics/Tamers/Chosen's of that animal, although half as effective.
These are just ideas, nothing to be certain about.
Now to the character!
As I previously stated, this character is going to be a Bee Tamer, and heavily interested in plants. Meaning they know their poisons.
Yeah I'm making someone manipulative and deadly.
After all, power does not come from strength, but intelligence and will.
And since last post was super long, I'm going to shorten things to mainly the demographic and a few other things.
Name: Belladonna Virosa
Age: 22
Sex/Gender: Female
Ethnicity: European
Occupation: Princess
Socioeconomic status: Princess
Education: Yes although incredibly interested in Botany and Toxicology.
Other notes: The fictional embodiment of my desire to be a cute princess and a god of life and death.
Amanita's name comes from Deadly Nightshade (also known as Belladonna) and the Destroying Angel mushroom, known as Amanita virosa.
Birth date: September 3
This is simply bc September is the beginning of spring. As for "3", according this single website I looked at (ik I'm wonderful at research) Honey Bees are capable of recognising specific values like 3 and not just relative values (their words, not mine).
Mannerisms: Nobel Like. Bites tongue when overwhelmed with emotions.
Hobbies: Tending to her garden, learning.
Skills/talents: Manipulation, acting, persuasion.
Loves: Flowers
Morals/Virtues: "There wasn't a murder if they can't find the body". "Betray them before they do the same to you"? Other than that idk.
Phobias/Fears: Betrayal, and being alone.
Angered by: People who lie about their loyalty.
Desires: A friend.
Flaws: Due to being scared of betrayal, she can never trust people with anything, and if she does it's not without serious manipulation, but even then she can't help but think it didn't fully work.
Quirks: Calls everyone "Honey".
Other notes: Honestly kinda giving Persephone vibes.
The idea of being scared of betrayal and being left alone comes from her being a Tamer. She's constantly used for politics and therefor can't trust anyone's intentions.
Honey is not only a bee pun, but also used for people you're close with, this can be another tactic on her part to make people trust her.
Physical strengths: Good aim.
Physical weaknesses: the limits of a human.
Intellectual strengths: Quick thinking, strategies, ruthlessness, constant learning.
Intellectual weaknesses: Thinks too much.
Interpersonal strengths: Persuasion, "people person"
Interpersonal weaknesses: Can't trust people.
Physical abilities: N/A.
Magical abilities: Can communicate with and persuade all bees.
Physical illnesses/conditions: N/A
Mental illnesses/conditions: N/A
Other notes: N/A
She's not physically capable, probably due to being perceived as unable to since she's a Tamer. I gave her good aim coz throwing a heel in someone's eye is a spectacle I want to see.
I'll work on her character arc another time.
____
Now I'm just going to give a quick summary of what's new:
Character: Belladonna
Age: 22
Reason for existing: Bee-cause I said so... also poisons.

Amanita virosa
Amanita virosa, commonly known as the European destroying angel, is a deadly poisonous basidiomycete fungus, one of many in the genus Amanita. Occurring in Europe, A. virosa associates with various deciduous and coniferous trees. The large fruiting bodies (i.e., the mushrooms) appear in summer and autumn; the caps, stipes and gills are all white in colour. Immature specimens of A. virosa resemble several edible species commonly consumed by humans, increasing the risk of accidental poisoning. Small specimens may resemble the common Portobello mushroom to non-experts, but just a piece of an A. virosa in a soup with hundreds of edible mushrooms is poisonous enough to kill all who eat the soup. The symptoms of poisoning comes generally several hours afterwards, a fact which makes this fungus even more problematic. Along with its geographical namesakes, A. virosa is one of the most poisonous of all known poisonous mushrooms; its principal toxic constituent α-amanitin damages the liver and kidneys, usually fatally.
