One Xiao x Playful reader please.
The reader fools around and flirt a lot with Xiao. When they get one deathly glare from Xiao they just smile wide or giggle and pretended to be a fool again.

The infamous Adeptus Xiao. Cold and stoic, strong and virtuous. Kind wasn't at the top of very many people's lists when it came to describing him. But to you, he's a worrywart that doesn't like to show it. He cares for the people of Liyue and even mulls over the health of the elderly at night when he's supposed to be resting. He's the cutest, you think.
After clearing out some demons, he feels your overbearing presence behind him and turns around, eyes wide. He sees you running towards him with a wide smile on your face and holding something out in front of you and becomes slightly frightened at the thought of having to deal with your antics out in the open. Don't get him wrong, he doesn't mind being seen with you. However, he does mind having others see his resolve being broken down by a singular person so easily. His face remains cold, and he's gone in a flash, leaving you to pause your excited stride, a plate of almond tofu in hand.
Your shoulders drop in disappointment, and you sigh, turning around to head back to the Wangshu Inn. You should just have waited for him there.
Your heavy, pouting footsteps quickly turn back into the light and excited ones as you near the inn.
"Xiao!" You called, bursting into the room. It was weird how there were no doors in this place, you'd assume he'd like some privacy. But at the same time, the people here know him and understand to keep their distance.
He was already looking out of the balcony, waiting for you with his arms crossed. You smiled mischievously and set down the plate of almond tofu on a table.
"Hungry?" You asked, creeping over to him slowly. You craned your neck from side to side to try and get a better view as you moved closer.
He said nothing. You inched closer and leaned forward to look at his face. It was bright red, and he was having a terrible time trying to keep a straight face. Weird, you hadn't done anything yet.
"Xiaoooo~?" You asked, drawing out his name as you poked him in the arm. He glanced at you and then looked away, pretending like his face wasn't currently the prettiest shade of pink you'd ever seen. You didn't push it further; you knew he'd probably give you the cold shoulder if you teased him too much.
"Won't you eat the food? It's gonna get warm..." You mumbled, glancing over to the table you'd set it on. The way the light poured in through the balcony made this place feel rather homely.
You watch as he stubbornly drags himself over to the table, like it's the hardest thing he's ever done, and sits down. He sighs. The sigh holds no weight. No disappointment, no heavy emotions, like it usually would. You smile as he starts to shovel the food into his mouth.
When he's around others, he acts cold and disconnected. It makes you happy that at least around you he can act childish, get annoyed, and sometimes smile. Despite still trying to pretend to be some emotionless pillar, he can't seem to hold up the facade around you.
"I love you, Xiao." You say, not having moved from your spot on the balcony. He pauses his eating to glare up at you, and you simply flash him a smile.
When you go out, he will hide. But when it's just the two of you, he wears his own face. His emotions were on display, with no mask in sight.
He lets you have a bite.

The army general. For the High Priestess, Kokomi Sangonomiya, no less. The "pointy-eared-general". He was someone a lot of his comrades looked up to, though sometimes he couldn't really figure out why.
He always thought his life would be simple. When it came to love, he didn't think something like that would benefit him. Not that benefit was something he was after all the time. He just didn't want something like that to weigh him down. He had far too many responsibilities.
And then he saw you.
All you were doing was speaking with the High Priestess Kokomi, but it felt like you were doing so much more. Your face was focused and you were discussing strategies for battle. He had never seen you before, but you seemed well-versed in the particular art of war. Someone scarred by the effects of it in one way or another.
He supposed that everyone in this region of Teyvat was. It would be selfish to wallow in self-pity over something like that, though. He stopped gawking as soon as he caught himself and straightened himself up again, entering his lady's camp with the feigned stupor of being completely calm and collected.
Though standing next to his lady now, with you looking at him with such curious eyes, he couldn't keep still. He felt like a child with a crush. Jittery and unable to keep his eyes off you. Though when yours met his, they would flit away instantly.
Embarrassed and confused, every day that he accompanies the two of you in his lady's tent, he tries to remain composed. And though eventually, you start to warm up to him, you were ignorant to the fact that he'd already warmed up to you long before.
Slowly but surely, the two of you ended up with each other more often than not. Running errands for kokomi- though it was much unbecoming of an army general like himself- he didn't mind if he was with you.
It seemed the two of you could talk for hours if it didn't get in the way of both your duties. He didn't know what to do. He wanted to get closer to you.
Then one day, he sat down to write answers for his advice column, and a question stood out to him.
"I met someone recently. He's very cute and seems to like me a lot. His tail wags whenever he sees me! He seems rather nervous, though, and I wouldn't want to drive him away with my feelings. However, I do like him a lot. How should I go about letting him know, Miss Hina?"
Recently. Wagging tail. He was thinking of you again.
Thump, thump, thump, thump-
He looked in the direction of the sudden noise. His tail. It really was wagging. He didn't know what else to do now. Was this question really from you?
It was extremely embarrassing and improper for someone in as high a position as him to be daydreaming about someone. He had far more important responsibilities to attend to, but still, he found you always at the top of his list.
He thought back to when the traveler had assisted Kokomi with some of her work so that she may rest and indulge herself in some of her personal hobbies for a little while.
The wind blew through his hair as he sat under the sakura tree. Not many people were out, and he enjoyed the tranquility at times like these.
He went to work writing a thoughtful response. It took up most of the column in the end. And though he prayed day and night until the next issue was released that the inquiry really was from you and that you were speaking about him.
But as the release date became closer, he started to regret the things he'd written. No, regret wasn't the word. He'd mulled over it for too long. He really did feel something for you, but could it really be love?
He lay in bed, unable to put his mind at ease as these thoughts seemed to conjure themselves.
Maybe he just admired you or looked up to you. No.
He thought about the way the light sometimes hit your eyes and how you always greeted him with a smile and his face felt hot. There was no mistaking the pounding of his heart and the beating of his tail against his bedding as he lay there alongside the rest of his comrades.
'As per your inquiry, they seem to like you a lot, don't they? Maybe you should decide first whether or not they simply admire you or maybe something more. If they act that way around you though, you probably have no doubt in your mind about the answer. Just say what you want to say to him. If they're so dedicated to being around you, something like that probably wouldn't drive them away so easily-"
As stated before, the answer continues. It took up more than half the column. He could only answer two questions this week. Yae Miko had no inquiries about his decision, so he didn't think about how much he'd written.
Somewhere in the tent, he heard shuffling, and he quickly stopped his movements and shut his eyes. The morning came.
Rumors unfolded quickly on Inazuma's main islands about the unfolding love story in Miss Hina's most recent advice column. Those that whispered of love confessions were overjoyed. He didn't really understand how people could be so infatuated with the lives of others, wouldn't they rather focus on their own?
But then again, he was the one who didn't think his "love story" was worth being interested in.
"Gorou!" He heard you call for him, and the wind whipped at his hair the way it had that night as he wrote his reply to, who he was certain now, was you. You were impossibly beautiful when he turned around to see you and your eyes met his bright ones.
"The High Priestess would like us to meet with her later today. I spoke to her earlier this morning. I was hoping I'd catch you here, let's go look at the sakura blossoms afterward, okay?" Time seemed to slow down. Even the beauty of the newly-bloomed sakura couldn't compare to you at that moment.
It was then that he became ashamed of his arrogance.
"Okay, let's have fun." Gorou smiled, though it could never be on par with your bright one, it seemed that he felt happiest by your side as always.
"Let's go get something to eat first." You hummed, letting out a small laugh before you reached out to grab his hand. He went stiff and you pulled him along. The heat he'd felt so many times before returned to his face, and people turned to look.
He became extremely aware of their whisperings from before, and even continuing now once again. What were they saying?
He glanced around.
"Y/N!" He exclaimed before he could even think about it. More heads turned now. You turned to look at him curiously, the two of you still connected where your hand grasped his wrist. He slipped his hand in to yours all the way and held it tightly.
"Right now." The tone of his voice was much softer, "You look beautiful."
Your eyes widened in surprise, and your mouth opened as if to say something, but he cut you off and continued.
"You're quite a determined person, and- having you by my side gives me so much confidence and self-doubt at the same time. But, despite that, I've come to realize that I'm happiest when I'm around you!" The confidence returned to his voice as he continued to speak.
"I think that. I lo- like you. A lot. So isn't it normal for me to doubt myself then...?" The last part was mostly to himself. Trying to justify his feelings. Though it was hard to admit to you, especially with so many eyes on the two of you, it felt right.
You simply smiled at him and continued to pull him along.
"I feel the same way. I even wrote to Miss Hina about it. You plagued my mind so much, I had to do something about it." You hummed, not looking back at him as you spoke. However, he could feel the way your hand trembled in his. You, no doubt, felt the same familiar heat that stretched up to your face and down your neck whenever he thought of you.
Except, you were thinking about him. Someone was worked up. Over him.
"Tell me again after we look at the cherry blossoms, please. When nobody is looking." You said, your voice quivering with your unusually quiet tone.
"O-Okay..." He said, smiling softly as he looked down at where your hands were linked together.

A/N: TYSM FOR THE ASK ANON!!! You totally spelled out the entire fic for me so I didn't have to do much thinking. This is wonderful bc my brain is fried from school. On that note, sorry for taking so long to write this, anon!!! My curriculum was a lot more demanding in ways I wasn't expecting recently, so even during breaks I'm too exhausted to write, even if I say I'm going to...
Sorry for dumping that on you, unsuspecting Albedo lover... onto the fanfic!!! ASKS ARE OPEN AS ALWAYS!! I will get to all of them eventually...

Pairing: Albedo x GN!Reader **Not written with a pre-established relationship, I'm not sure if that's what you wanted or not, SORRY ANONNN

Genre: Angst?? (It's rather one-sided), sort of brief fluff
Warnings: lots of self-doubt & far too many adjectives...

"I'm finished," He said suddenly, standing up. You glanced at him and away from the fire you were staring at just moments ago, his words pulling your attention away from what you were doing the way they always did.
The air is silent, save for the crackling of the aforementioned fire, which cast sharp shadows on his face as it flickered. If you looked too long, it became creepy the way they danced in such a lively way. Like they were living and breathing just as the two of you were.
You expected him to say something else, but he proceeded to silently walk over to the area where the two of you, along with the occasional company of others, slept to prepare to settle down for the night.
Ah, but there was one more thing.
"Goodnight," He said quietly, pausing his stride to turn back to you. It's deafeningly quiet.
"Goodnight, Albedo." You say, lifting your hand to give him a small wave, accompanied by a smile. He didn't notice and turned away from you again to continue what he was doing.
Sometimes Albedo was warm and nice. He was always nice. But sometimes he turned stony and cold like he'd taken on the personality of the mountain itself. You think for a moment, that he's the kind of person that's dead to the world the moment that the sun has set. Someone so determined, you wonder what he thinks about before he falls asleep with the rest of the mountaintop. Whether he wallowed or thought about tomorrow, you'd never be able to tell just by looking at him.
You turn your head to look at where he lay, presumably asleep. He made no movement, nor sound, but you could see his chest move with the gentle coercion of his breathing. It was moments like these that you longed for him to look at you the most. When his back was turned towards you.
"Albedo," You called, softly. Nothing.
Your legs seemed to move on their own as you moved from your spot by the fire, shivering as a sudden gust of wind tore through your camp. You lifted his cozy bedding and shoved yourself in where you wondered if you were even welcome.
His eyes snapped open, but there was no alarm in his gaze. Surprise, perhaps. Maybe you can tell a lot just from looking at him. You broke the intense eye contact by tucking yourself against his chest so that his chin rested on the top of your head.
Your hands gripped his clothing warily. If he kicked you out now, you don't think you could ever continue to chase him the way you did now.
"Y/N..." He started, hand hovering over your shoulder. You ripped yourself away from him, staring into his eyes once again. The shadows from the fire were softer since it was farther away.
You couldn't tell the emotion in his eyes now, not that he was ever so easy to read. Like he was indecisive about how he wanted to display his emotions. Perhaps you'd just caught him off guard during the moments you locked eyes and you could tell.
"Can I kiss you?" You asked, without thinking. The surprised look in his eyes returned once again. He said nothing, but he nodded slowly. He didn't trust his voice right now.
The kiss wasn't anything special. You pecked him on the lips once, twice, then returned to tucking yourself away from the wind against his side.
His arms mimicked the way you'd wrapped yours around him. Wherever the two of you could reach. But there was nothing awkward about it, the situation felt natural. Though you don't know if he felt the same longing about you that you did for him. Perhaps he simply liked you. Maybe just the idea of you. Nonetheless, you smiled against his shoulder.
"Y/N..." He said again, and you shushed him, pushing yourself shamefully and impossible closer to him.

"I wonder if genetic modification is on the table.." You mumbled to yourself. Albedo had tasked you with dealing with Paimon's antics. You'd told her you'd find some way to preserve the fruit, but in the end, the best you could think of doing was making more of them.
You were alone today at Albedo's camp. He'd had some things to take care of at the Knights of Fevonious headquarters, and wouldn't be back until well into the night.
You always wonder how he's not tired of traveling up and down the mountain all the time. Sometimes making the trip multiple times in one day. You know he's synthetic, but even robots wear down and need new batteries eventually.
You hummed to yourself as you began to extract DNA from one of the Sunsiettas. You're sure Paimon could donate one to the cause. After all, she'll have more than she can eat if you succeed in your plan.
"The cloning of a fruit surely would be easier than something with a beating heart." A voice came from behind you. You were hardly startled, however. It was Albedo's.
"Welcome back, Chief Alchemist." You hummed. As straight-laced as he was, he was rather impromptu with his schedule, so it didn't come off as strange that he was back nearly half a day earlier than he'd said he'd be. He didn't respond.
What set off your alarms is that you often called him the chief as a joke, and he told you to just call him by his name. You straightened up and set your things down, turning to look at him. He was looking through some papers by his alchemy table.
"How was your trip to Monstadt...?" You asked slowly, approaching him slowly. You placed a hand on his shoulder and he flinched before turning toward you, pretending like nothing happened. You glanced down to his neck quickly, before smiling. No diamond.
"It was..." He began, pausing when your hand slid slowly down to his neck. "Peaceful."
"I'm glad you didn't get into any trouble. I missed you." You hummed, your hand slipping further down to his collar bone before you turned away. He stood there staring at you blankly as you went back to what you were doing.
"You look pretty tired, I think I'll cook tonight," You say, putting away your tools for now. "Could you bury this for me? I would like to see if the snow would preserve it or freeze it." You say, picking up your bag. "I was given a recipe as a thank you by a lost traveler today after I'd given them directions back down the mountain... I think you'll like it."
"Oh?" He said, giving a slight smile as you pulled out the recipe.
"Pork hotpot!" You announced, looking to see his reaction. "It's full of meat- I know you love meat- and it'll keep us warm."
He furrows his brows and gives you another smile.
"I believe you mean it will keep you warm. I don't often find myself in a state of discomfort caused from the temperature." He said, crossing his arms with a smug look on his face.
"Whatever, It'll still be good." You huffed. "Where did you put the chilled meat?"
"I'm sure its with the rest of the, ah... ingredients." He said, dismissively as he went back to looking through papers. You looked over your shoulder as your searched for some.
"...Okay..."
You want to be cautious, but doing so could key him into the fact that you know he's not the real Albedo.
You got to cooking while he did some little things. Looking through papers, searching the desk, staring into the vials of your experimental DNA. It was quite endearing, but you had to remind yourself that he is not innocent.
Eventually, he stopped looking around and sat down across the fire from you. But he just stared at you. Hunched forward, elbows on his knees, staring.
You're rather uncomfortable, so you try not to meet his eyes that often.
"What?" You ask after a while.
"The face you make while working is not an estaranged one. It's unusual. You seem like you're somewhere else." He said, quietly.
"Hm. I can't help but daydream, I suppose. It's rather quiet when I'm with you, you know." You said, taking the ingrediets you'd picked out for the hot pot and putting it into the pot long enough for it to cook.
"Your turn," You hummed as you scooped what you wanted out of the boiling liquid and beginning to eat. He mimicked your actions, pulling out of the pot what looked interesting and piling it onto his plate.
He then began to eat like he was a starving man. Basically inhaling the food. He didn't choke, however. Lucky him. Not that you would do anything if he were to start choking.
You set your things down, that gave you an idea. You stood up, and he followed you with his eyes as you went to sit down next to him.
"Albedo" You said, quietly. He set his plate down and placed his hands into his lap to give you his full attention.
"Yes, Y/N?" He asked, furrowing his brows as he tried to decipher your expression. You were sure of it at this point, he was far too expressive to be the Albedo you know.
"I was just wondering..." You took on a rather sheepish tone. It was fake, but you figured he wouldn't know any better.
You lifted your hand and he followed as you brought it up to rest on his cheek, before it slid down to his neck. He grew slightly rigid.
"Yes...?" He asked, matching your quiet tone.
You pressed your thumb to the spot on his neck where the diamond should be, leaning your face closer to his.
"Who the fuck are you?" You whispered, pushing him off of his seat and into the snow behind. You stayed above him, holding him down, hand around his neck. "Hm?"
You were pushed off quickly and snow was thrown into your face, blinding you just long enough for him to slip out of your sight. You heard footsteps retreating quickly away.
You sat there in the snow, silently, listening for any noise.
"Well, thata was quite a show," A voice said. You snapped your head to look in the direction of it. A hooded figure emerged from the bushes. They came into the firelight and took off their hood, revealing their identity.
It was Albedo. Or so you thought. You looked at his neck and sighed in relief.
"Jeez, you scared me." You muttered, laying flat on your back in the snow.
"I made hotpot." You mumbled.
"I know," He said, walking over to the fire and glancing into the pot.
"Even if you were using it to further strengthen your hypothesis that it wasn't really me, you didn't have to put so much meat in it." He mumbled, putting some of the food on his plate.
"Sorry," You said as he sat next to you on the snow. "Stella Polaris is above us tonight- Ursa Minor."
You fixed yourself into a relaxed position as he looked up at the sky with you.
"I believe its above us every night, Y/N." He said, before beginning to eat his food.
You grumbled something about him ruining your fun.
"I believe you should take a more direct approach next time you suspect that I am not who I appear to be. Don't wait to assault a possible threat." He said after a few minutes of silence.
"What if it turns out to be you?" You ask, turning your eyes away from the stars to look at him.
He turns his head away,
"I don't think I would mind too much."

A/N: OH THIS ASK IS SO WONDERFUL I'm a little worried about the vague spoilers in the ask though so I apologize to anyone that happens upon this and doesn't know yet!! Ty for the asks anon!!!
Edit: ok I just finished writing this and it ran a little long, but it's not too lengthy. I just got a burst of inspiration.
The actual fanfic is underneath my rlly long theory ramble in case u wanna skip that part LOL i just needed to tell someone about it...Tumblr is a gr8 place for that. (Maybe I should make a separate post for it, but I'm too lazy. sorry anon.)
Pairing: Albedo x GN!reader (pre-relationship or pre-existing relationship, your choice.)
Genre: There's really no theme... mystery perhaps. Tbh its kind of wholesome. One-shot (or maybe not... will there be more? idk...)
Word Count: 1086
Warnings: MAJOR Spoilers for the recent Albedo event!!, Albedo is acting slightly possessive again (idk why i always write him that way), but tbh he just wants to protect you.
REQUESTS ARE OPEN!

Theories!
There are 3 Albedos I believe (not just in theory, I think there were actually 3.), 2 were creations of Rhinedottir and one was the creation of the imposter Albedo (But it wasn't actually an Albedo, it was simply a mutated plant that was used to mimic and distract him from something else.)
I believe that the 1st Albedo is the Albedo we know to be the "impostor" and the 2nd one is the Albedo that we know and that the first Albedo was somehow not what Rhinedottir wanted and she attempted to dispose of him. (Not very nice dude...) Anyway! Since Albedo calls the impostor "Master's failed specimen in the dragon's belly", I think he may be either referring to the impostor just being in Dragonspine OR that Durin was used to dispose of the first albedo. (Weird, I know...) That could've been how the impostor ended up in Dragonspine. No theorizing there, he also could've just walked LMAO.
Also, during Albedo's monologue during the end, I feel like it was definitely from our Albedo's point of view, at least up until the very end where he talks about being human and being brought into the world. Maybe it's to show Albedo's astounding amount of empathy despite being synthetic, or it's to show the original Albedo's true feelings? Not sure there. Either way, it is extremely sad.
Tumblr media
Things were different now that the two of you were aware of it. The feeling of being watched couldn't simply be blamed on the wild animals and camouflaged creatures in the area anymore. You would be working quietly when suddenly you would share a look with him. Then his sword would be out.
He had made the choice to let his imposter live. But at what cost, he now wonders. The cost of his focus? Or his sense of safety in solitude?
You weren't all that bothered by it. Nothing remotely deadly had happened since what had gone down a few weeks ago.
"Albedo," You said to the blonde, who was currently staring blankly at the vial in his hand. He was shaken from his thoughts and focused back on the vial, which he now noticed was not the color it was supposed to be. He made a slightly disappointed expression before turning towards you.
"What is it, Y/N?" He asked, setting the vial back into the rack.
"We're out of mint," You say, rocking back and forth on your heels. "I'm going to go collect some."
So far, Albedo had refused to let you out of his sight. You hadn't been able to go looking for ingredients or get a moment to yourself for days.
"Ah, okay." He said, before retrieving his sword. "Let's go."
"Well, um... I was hoping I could go by myself." You said, avoiding making eye contact with him. His arm with which he brandished his sword sort of went limp and he kind of just looked at you like he was thinking about something.
"I have a sword too, you know." You laughed nervously, pulling out your own. The one he'd given you. The one he'd said only you could brandish. He was silent for a moment more.
His brows knitted together slightly before he nodded.
"Okay. Be careful. Shout if you need me." He said, looking into your eyes rather intensely from where he stood a few feet away, "I will hear you."
You nodded, before waving and turning away.
You weren't all too worried about being alone, given that nothing eventful had happened. But maybe that was because the two of you hadn't been apart since then. Then again, it didn't seem to have any trouble with causing problems for groups of people. You thought back to the avalanche.
You picked mint carefully, placing it into your bag. It was rather nice to be alone, even if it's just for a little while. You adore Albedo, but his presence can be smothering. Anyone's is when you're unseparated for that long. It was no fault of his for wanting to keep you safe.
You wandered from the path to collect some Starsilver you'd spotted growing from a rock. Leisurely, you collected the brittle material to bring back to Albedo. You heard a rustle a few feet away from you and flicked your eyes towards the sound. It was too quiet.
Just then, you heard heavy steps crunching in the snow behind you. You whipped around quickly, sword drawn in an instant.
It was Albedo. You glanced immediately at his neck. No diamond, this was not your Albedo. He simply stood there and stared at you, it was rather unusual.
You clutched the Starsilver in your hand and tried to open your bag to drop it in there so you could make your escape.
"Why do you carry those?" He asked, suddenly. His eyes glanced down to the ore in your hand. His face remained blank. No trace of curiosity. Just blank.
"The Starsilver...?" You asked, extremely confused. He closed his eyes momentarily and nodded. "It's for paint."
He shook his head. "I know, but they are the lackluster sort like you talked about."
His eyes seemed to dull. You glanced down at them, but you couldn't tell the difference, despite the advice of Albedo, Paimon, and the traveler last time you'd collected some.
"Well, it'll all be turned into silver paint, anyway. I'll use it if Albedo doesn't." You shrugged, strangely feeling like you could let your guard down. Your arm relaxed a bit.
He took that moment to lunge forward to grab you by your shirt collar.
"ALBED-!" You tried to yell, but he covered your mouth. You struggled.
"Teach me how to paint." He muttered, gripping your clothing tighter. You dropped your sword and lifted your leg to kick him away. He stumbled but regained his composure quickly.
You simply stared at each other. He grits his teeth in frustration and turned away, walking back in the direction he came from.
Teach him to paint? Does he want to create more creatures? You don't want to be responsible for something like that if that's what he is trying to do.
But maybe he wants the simpler aspect of it. Surely there's not much for him to do up here. He'd needed Albedo's notes to create the Whopperflower, so he's clearly not a genius at alchemy either. It's a good way to pass the time, the same reason that Paimon had wanted the traveler to learn.
You snapped your head towards the sound of quick footsteps coming towards you. Symbol-clad neck. Your Albedo. His sword was out.
You didn't know what to say when he stood there a few feet away, seeing that there was nothing wrong with you. He straightened up.
"What do you need?" He asked. He didn't mind that you weren't in trouble. He was relieved, actually.
"Nothing..? Ahh, well." You said, still dazed from the events that had just taken place. You quickly formulated a lie. You weren't protecting the impostor or anything like that, right? Just making sure Albedo wasn't worrying about you anymore.
"I picked some mint and a Whopperflower surprised me..." You laughed nervously. He seemed to relax. "I guess I'm still a little paranoid from last time, sorry."
"Don't apologize." He said, "It is merely human nature to become wary of things that have affected you in the past. Especially if those same events can occur again." He said, stepping closer to you. He wrapped his arm around your mid-section and looked towards the top of the mountain.
The wind blew cold.
"Let's go back now." He said after being silent for a few moments. "I'll cook dinner."
"Okay," You mumbled. You looked back over your shoulder as you walked beside him back to camp. You swear you could see a flash of blue eyes between the brush and snow.

ALSOSORRY if it's a little out of character, but i see him as someone who would try to act like he doesn't care much, lest he is seen as weak by the untrustworthy people around him.

It was just yesterday that you were standing beside him. You were always spouting jokes that he didn't understand, but you two laughed anyways. He wishes he'd taken better care not to get distracted.
It was a simple mix of ingredients. A recipe a skilled alchemist like him should be able to pull off with his eyes closed, but his eyes weren't closed. They were clouded by you, you, you, and only you.
He'd only looked away for a second. There was a loud boom and you were in his arms as he begged you to keep your eyes open. He'd made the foolish mistake of learning only to create and destroy life, not to repair and preserve it.
He sits at his desk with his head in his hands. The Knights of Fevonious Headquarters had a different air to it today. You were not there, and you wouldn't be returning. It surprised him when teardrops fell onto his papers underneath them. He was never one to cry; feel sad, feel anything really. But you had taught him many things. Love, happiness, and now grief.
There was a knock on the door to his lab. He cleared his throat and wiped his eyes hastily. He hoped they wouldn't irritate and turn red, a clear sign to anyone that he'd been weeping.
"Come in." He called. It was Jean. She looked at him with pity in her eyes and it jarred something inside of him.
"Albedo, we know how special y/n was to you," Jean said, stepping into the room. Sucrose peeked in from the doorway, her eyes and nose red. "You're very welcome to take as much time off as you need. Grieving is a long process, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you."
But her words struck the question, 'we'? He doesn't know who 'we' is. Whether it be Jean and Sucrose, the Knights of Fevonious as a whole, he doesn't care. He doesn't need their pity.
"Thank you, Grand Master Jean, but I'm afraid it won't be necessary." He said, pulling his coat off of the chair he sat in moments before. He pulled it on. Jean stands there still, a sullen look on her features. She looks like she's barely holding herself together. But he doesn't think about it anymore. He respects her and the things she's done to get to where she is, even if he doesn't particularly trust her.
He grabs a stack of papers off his desk, the ones he'd been looking at before his slip in composure, and shoves them into a bag. He slings it over his shoulder and walks past Jean and Sucrose.
He casts a glance at Sucrose. He doesn't know if he can trust her either. After all, he couldn't even trust himself to keep you safe. His eyes prickle again and he shuts them tightly.
His leg bumps into something and he hears a small 'oof!' as whatever it is backward onto the ground. He opens his eyes and blinks down. It's Klee. She's holding a piece of paper.
"Mister Albedo!" She says, a grin on her face. He gives her a small smile back and kneels down to her height. He goes to ask if she's okay, but she hops up from the floor easily. "Have you seen y/n today? I drew this for her... well, I guess you can look at it, too."
She giggles and holds up her drawing. He takes it gently and looks at it. Just hearing her name is gut-wrenching. It's of Klee, y/n, and him holding hands. A typical child's drawing. But his resolve cracks.
"Klee," He says, quietly, dropping his head as tears roll down his cheeks again, he hopes the child in front of him can't see. Jean and Sucrose come running as he lets out a sob, holding the drawing close to his chest. Klee doesn't know what she did wrong but tries to make it better.
She hugs what she can of Albedo's hunched-over form. Albedo feels Jean's hands on his shoulders. He can hear her telling Sucrose to fetch Barbara, but then he retreats into himself. His vision is blurry, and he wishes he wasn't taught these feelings. It hurts so much.

Tumblr media
It had been a few weeks since your near-deadly encounter with Albedo's double, and part of you wishes you'd died in that moment.
Cold bit your fingers and your nose as you leaned against a snow-covered rock to take a much-needed breath. The condensation from your heavy breathing was clearly visible from how cold it was. The wind was blowing cold, and the snow was nearly blinding. You'd been on your way back up the mountain from your trip to Monstadt, but an unexpected snowstorm had overtaken you before you'd even realized what was going on.
And now you were slumped against a rock, cradling your shaking hands close to your chest, but it didn't do much against the biting cold.
You knew you had to get up and keep moving, but you suddenly felt so exhausted. You knew what was happening, hypothermia. But still, you couldn't move. Funny how these things worked.
"Albedo..." You mumbled, your eyes opening and closing slowly as you fought to keep yourself awake. "Albedo..."
You weren't sure which you were calling out to. Your perfect 'knight in shining armor', or the one who wasted no time showing you what damage he could so-easily cause to you.
You weren't sure whose arms you felt wrapping underneath your legs and across your back as your consciousness slipped further away, despite your best efforts.
"I thought you were smart enough not to let something like this happen... after all, you figured me out pretty quickly back on the mountain-top, didn't you?" You head a voice say. Albedo's. But based on his words, it wasn't the Knights of Fevonious' beloved Chief Alchemist.
You were in a limbo. You didn't know what to do. This... 'Albedo' had become aggressive at a moment's notice the first time you'd met him. You weren't sure what to think. Had he taken you here to kill you? Dispose of you and anyone else who knew he existed?
You were glad now that you hadn't told the 'real' Albedo that you'd encountered him. You'd kept it to yourself this whole time, watching every shadow, whipping your gaze towards every little noise. To make sure he hadn't come back.
In truth, you weren't afraid of the fact he could hurt you. You were afraid of what would happen if the two of them were to come across each other. Albedo didn't seem to know of the existence of the other version of him, otherwise there would be many more precautions.
He was very protective over his coworkers, especially you, despite you being able to hold your own pretty easily.
You'd been thinking about it for a moment before you realized- you were conscious again, and your eyes snapped open. You were met by a pair of blue eyes and a mop of blond hair.
"'Bedo...?" You slurred, and the eyes moved away. You winced in pain as you sat up from your place against a rock. You were inside of a cave. He could've at least put you somewhere more comfortable, damn.
"So you lived." You hear the voice say again. You're wondering what you should even call him. He's not Albedo.
But he is, though...? Maybe its his twin that Albedo himself doesn't know about. Or maybe he does and just didn't have the hindsight to tell you about it. No, he wouldn't do that. But you can't help but wonder the origins of this man as you watch him tend to a fire, which provided very little warmth to you from so far away.
He turned his head toward you and kind of, beckoned you over with a jerk of his head. You took the invitation immediately, attempting to get up.
"F-Fuck," You shuddered as you shakily stood up, "It's cold." Your body was sore and stiff from being on the ground for as long as you were. Which, you're thinking at this point, you've been out for hours. You took a breath and dragged yourself over to the fire, dropping down onto the ice almost immediately.
You felt his icy eyes on you as you held your hands out to the fire.
"Well, we are surrounded by ice and snow." You heard him mumble. "Though the temperature in this cave is much higher than it is out in the open, I suppose your human body is still easily susceptible to the extreme temperature."
You exhaled. He may not be Albedo, but he's similar to him in the pretentious vocabulary department.
"S-So you're not cold?" You ask, looking over at him. When your eyes meet, he looks away.
"No. I am a synthetic human, as is the one you call 'Chief Alchemist'." He mumbles. God this was creepy, has he been watching you?
"Though I only know this information because I took his place for a short time in Monstadt a couple weeks ago." He continued. Oh. Okay, good.
He stood up suddenly and shed his coat. You'd always assumed that despite Albedo being synthetic, his clothes weren't and were tailored by someone out of fabric, but now you're questioning. These encounters had you questioning everything.
You felt the weight of his coat over your shoulders and would have half the mind to rip it off if you weren't shivering.
"Um... Albedo," You started, your tone quiet, echoing off the icy cave walls around you. "I met you on the mountaintop that day, right?"
His eyes flitted towards you before looking away once again.
"Yes, I apologize for my rash behavior." He said, looking down at the ground from his position sitting on a rock.
“After observing you and my successor for some time, I realized that sort of demeanor was unnecessary.” He mumbled. He was tending to a pot sitting over the fire. You stood up stiffly and walked closer to the fire. There was only one rock.
He glanced at you and then looked away again. He wasn’t nearly as threatening in a situation like this, even if you were the only one freezing your ass off.
“Move over.” You said after approaching him. “Sitting on the ice is cold.”
He looked at you for a few moments before scooting over. You sat down next to him. It was just big enough to fit the both of you if you sat right next to him. His body became rigid, but he didn’t seem entirely uncomfortable.
“What are you making?” You asked. It smelled like it wouldn’t kill you, at least. That is, if he let you have any.
“Food.” He mumbled. You tried not to think about the fact that he probably didn’t know any monetary dishes or their names, even if he was making something similar. You leaned against him slightly.
“You don’t even feel warm.” You mumbled into his shoulder, and he let you. He didn’t say anything, though. Unlike Albedo, he didn’t seem like the type to drone on for no reason. You were kind of glad.
He reaches out to tend to the pot again and once he returned to his position from before, you leaned more of your weight on him. Still, he didn’t budge. At least his jacket was helping a little.
The silence, besides the few animals scittering and the wind blowing, seemed more torturous at that moment than Albedo’s endless talking.
"About the painting..." You said finally, your side pressed fully into his with your arm wrapped around his begrudgingly still one. You didn't want to make him uncomfortable, but the both of you knew that you had warmed up a long time ago. Less with his help and more with the help of the fire.
He cleared his throat uncomfortably and side-eyed you. Your head was on his shoulder now and you were staring at the fire.
"I said earlier that you do not need to bring up our earlier conversations. That interaction is one I'd rather we both forget about." He said, shrugging you off of him and standing up. "It was not the most conveying of my true character."
He took the pot off the fire and set it on the rock next to you. Watching him work on pouring the soup, you realized that, among the domesticity of the scene before you, he was the one that had stolen several appliances from Albedo's camp. You huffed out a small laugh before getting back to the topic at hand.
"You know that's not what I want to talk about. You know..." You mumbled, looking into the bowl of soup he'd handed you. Up close now, it looked less like soup and more like simple Goulash. An old but delicious recipe.
"I'm sure Albedo would really love another person to teach them how to paint in his spare time, anyway." You hummed, content, for now, to use the bowl to keep your hands warm, as the fire wasn't doing that very efficiently. "I can't imagine there's much for him to do up here all alone in his leisure."
Albedo had never talked about it, but you could see that lonely look in your eyes whenever it was time for you to take your leave from Dragonspine.
The both of you had your own lives and responsibilities to attend to, but you would feel a lot better if there was someone just like him (maybe a little bit too much like him) around to keep him company. That is if he could get past the uncanny appearance of his long-lost twin is to himself.
Albedo stands looking into his own dish for a long time. He doesn't really know what to say. The words hang in the air. There was a reason nobody knew of his presence on this mountain until now. He didn't hold himself in a high enough regard to even consider trying to make friends.
"Or... I could teach you. Albedo taught me the basics... we could learn together." He glanced at you once those words left your mouth.
"I'm afraid not. You would grow tired of me rather quickly." He said. He said it so matter of factly that there was no way this could be some ploy for your pity. His tone left no room for an argument, so you just sat there helplessly.
"You can't know that for sure," You sigh, looking back at him and he looks away. Though he's a great deal farther away from you now than he was before. You shovel a couple of bites of food into your mouth before it grew cold
"Ido know, however, that your cooking is much better than Albedo's." You set your bowl down on the rock next to you before standing up. "You wouldn't happen to be partial to eating uh... spiders, would you?"
He makes a face at you and turns away, crossing his arms.
"Of course not. That sounds horrible." He mutters. You let out a laugh before stretching out your limbs, sore from the cold, and walking the few strides separating the two of you over to him.
"What is with you and being near me?" He asked, sounding breathless. You quirk your eyebrows at him before letting out a small laugh once again.
"What's with you and wanting to be lonely all the time?"
His eyes widen slightly at you. It was meant to be a simple joke. You really hoped you hadn't struck a nerve. He reached his arm out to grab you. The action startled you, but there was no malice in his eyes.
"Just because I'm alone doesn't mean I'm lonely." He said., quietly. His face was close to yours like he was suddenly the one who had no ideas about personal space. You leaned forward the tiniest bit and leaned your forehead against his. For a moment, his expression faltered, but his sharp glare returned shortly.
"Says the one without an inkling of interacting with others. He attacks me on the mountain, but he just wants to learn to paint." You say, the quietness of your tone almost being lost against the billowing winds just outside the cave.
"Though, after knowing your true intentions, it's quite endearing, don't worry." He grits his teeth and pulled away, but it was you who grabbed his arm this time.
"Sorry- I'm sorry. I don't mean to tease you." You say, your voice still steady. You put your hands on both of his upper arms and smiled at him. "I really do think it's sweet that you want to learn. And there are plenty of people who would like to teach you, not just me or Albedo. There are lots of other things that people can teach you, too."
The Albedo that Monstadt had come to know and love was known to be a smooth talker. But here, in a situation like this, you can't help but feel that you've picked up a thing or two from him along the way as the young man's face in front of you flourished into hues of pink and red as he seemingly realized the gravity of this little thing you'd got going on. Surely he knew about romance. You just laughed.
Once his initial embarrassment was over, he didn't attempt to full away, to your amusement.
"So. I suppose you've been around longer than Albedo? What's that like." You ask. He tells you quietly about where he came from, and how he was cast away by his maker simply for not meeting her expectations.
That doesn't sound like his fault at all, but his maker's. Yet he was left to deal with the consequences as he wound himself in the belly of a dragon and then on a snowy, cold, lonely mountaintop. Both are made of chalk, neither more nor lesser than the other. If Albedo was the prince of chalk, he might as well be the prince of this mountain. The ice, the snow, and the deafening silence that came with it.
You couldn't help but sympathize. With the way that you carried yourself, it was hard to keep many people close to you. Albedo was one of very few.
"You know, the people of Monstadt would really love you. They love Albedo and all the other 'outsiders' who come. Whether you stay for just a little while or for a long time, you'll find your place easily." You smile again. His eyes look hopeful, but he tries not to show it on his face.
"Plus, you could find some other things you like, too. Flora could d teach you about flowers, there aren't many of those up here... um... Katheryne could assign you commissions! We could go exploring!" You say. You're getting too excited now, you don't want to scare him away. You decide to tone it down a bit, just until you can get him off this cold-ass mountain, at least...
"Please come with me." You say, your hands sliding from his upper arms to his gloved hands. "I'll take you to meet Albedo, then a special bard that I know. He can see the future, so he'll be able to tell you where you'll be happy... if you really want to be sure you're not wasting your time."
You hold his hands up in front of you, begging him with your eyes.
"You can join my adventuring team, too. We can-" He cut you off with words of his own.
"Unlike you, I'm not on the human life-span time-crunch." He said, no bite to his words. Just the facts. "I'll be the one deciding if the decisions I'm making are a waste of time or not. Plus, I'm rather interested in flowers. As you said, there are very few here."
He watched as your eyes sparkled with joy. Your words of comfort and reassurance had paid off, but he still felt a little bit off-put about suddenly shoving himself into the lives of the people who'd seemed so content with their routine. He wonders if maybe there is a chance they won't accept him. A contrast to the lovely picture of the romantic Monstadt lifestyle you'd painted in his head, but a highly likely one.
He returned your bright smile with a small, wry one. He didn't really want to get his hopes up yet. But now you were blabbing about finishing the food before it gets cold and packing up these things so you can go to see Albedo.
And suddenly he was back on the rock in front of the fire and you were pushing his bowl of food back into his hands. He ate as you said to without protest. you could tell he was rather giddy to get out of here. Humonculus or not, nobody would want to be in here for long all by themselves.
The two of you finished eating and packed up your things before putting out the fire. You had to assure him several times that the cave would remain exactly as he left it as it had been for the last hundred years. You understood the anxieties of home changing when you're away, but he'd find a new home soon, you hoped. A brighter, warmer, livelier one where he wouldn't be alone.
"Albedo!" You called, running up the snowy path. The other trailed behind you. Albedo turned away from his wor and looked to you with happiness in his eyes.
"Oh! Y/N. I was rather worried when you didn't arrive before the blizzard earlier. I'm glad you're okay. I was about to set out to Monstadt to search for you." He says. The bag of supplies he sets down proves that his words are not lies.
"Um. There's someone I'd like for you to meet. He has an interest in painting, just like you." You say. Albedo looks at you inquisitively, his head tilting slightly. He kind of reminded you of a stoic dog at times. Curious, yet uninterested in showing it to anyone more often than not.
"Ah-" Albedo salet out a noise, suddenly. He didn't sound surprised, but rather... happy. "It's you!"
"I was wondering when we'd meet face-to-face. Your sneaking abilities could use some work." He said, giving a close-eyed smile to the young man behind you. He fidgeted nervously, before taking a step forward toward him.
"My name's Albedo. You probably already know that, though. So I hear you like to paint?" You were surprised. You didn't expect Albedo to already know about the mysterious man who had been shadowing you for weeks. Though, you had to agree. Recently, you'd been catching glimpses of him in the corner of your eye. Though scary at first, it seemed silly now and you couldn't help but smile at the endearing scene in front of you.
Albedo hadn't been this freely talkative around anyone but you or Sucrose for some time now. You hoped that they could confide in each other as much as they'd confided in you for the short time you'd known them both.
You tuned out there talking as you thought about earlier's events. The two of you had gotten quite close today, and you hoped this was the start of something interesting. You really wanted to know more about both of them.
"Ah, right-" You say, interrupting their talk with your quiet realization. "Flowers."
You walk over to one of the alchemy tables and rummage through a bag you'd brought here last time.
"Windwheel Asters. Freshly picked for alchemy shenanigans... uh... I guess- a couple of days ago, now." Your voice became nervous as you realized this probably wasn't the greatest example of the beauty of Monstadt's flowers. You walked towards the two of them and presented the slightly wilted flower to him. He smiled slightly and took the flower from you.
"It's quite beautiful. I hope to see more." His smile became slightly larger at the thought.
"There are plenty of species of flowers in Monstadt. Sometimes Flora even has flowers imported from other regions of Teyvat, like Liyue. I'm sure you'll enjoy them." Albedo said, fondly.IT seemed he was just as relieved as you were to have brought the young man out of his shell.
"So- um... what's your name?" You asked. They both looked at you stunned. Albedo's shocked face stemmed from the disbelief that you'd gotten this far with him without asking his name, and the other's was... well... because he didn't have one. There was no one around to call his name, so he'd never really thought about it. His creator hadn't given him one either.
He simply stood there for a moment with his mouth open slightly.
"Well- um. I don't-"
"It's fine," Albedo said, saving the day, as per usual. "You can think about it. Pick one you like."
"Yeah! Maybe you can name yourself after a flower... that would be super cool." You smiled, taking both of their hands in yours.
You explained your plan to Albedo about taking the other to Monstadt and he made a few preparations before the three of you set off down the mountain. The wind blew cold, but you knew that making this trip for the nth time would always be worth it. You hoed that this was the introduction into the world with open arms that he'd been hoping for.
And though he probably wouldn't tell you anytime soon, it was.

Albedo!
He has a little bit of pride knowing that he came out better than the previous version of him.
Though he does feel a little bit sad
Maybe his insecurities lay in being the one that got to experience the world over the other version of him.
Why him?
You find him one night staring blankly into his lab notes.
"Albedo?" You ask, setting down the things you'd brought to make dinner for the two of you. You place your hand on his back. It's warm in contrast to him. He's freezing cold.
"What's the matter with you?" You ask in a quiet tone, leaning forward to see his face a little better
He seems to come back from whichever corner of his mind he'd retreated to. He looks at you before jerking away from your touch.
"Pardon me, I didn't notice you'd returned." He mumbled, continuing to write his notes. "What were you saying?"
"I was asking what's wrong. It seems like something's bothering you." You said, straightening back up. Your hand came to rest on his back once again in a comforting manner.
"I'm unsure of what is bringing my mood down these days. Ever since this other version of me has shown up, I've been thinking a lot about Rhindottir's ways. Perhaps they weren't the most ethical." He sighed, looking up at you from where he sat.
"I remember you told the traveler about how she disposed of him," You said, trying to give him the idea that you're at least understanding where he's coming from. She seemed too dedicated to her experimentations' perfection to care about what happened after the experiment was done.
"Well, whatever Rhinedottir's intentions were, I'm glad you're here with me." You say, reaching down to hug his head against your chest. He stayed still for a moment before wrapping his arms around your middle.
"I appreciate the sentiment, but I can't help but wonder if things could've been different. Because of my feigned ignorance to Rhinedottir's other experiment until now, I've put several people in danger." He mumbled into your clothes.
"Not everything is your responsibility," You hummed, stroking his hair. His silence shows that he doesn't seem to believe you. If you were in his shoes, you probably wouldn't believe you either. "Rhinedottir's reactionsn't your fault, you had no part in it."
"But I was the one chosen..." He mumbles. "Perhaps it should've gone differently."
You broke away from the hug quickly.
"Don't ever say something like that!" You said loudly, your voice echoing through the dead silence of the mountains. "Whether or not you were the one Rhinedottir chose, that wasn't something you could control. Perhaps if her other experiment had been shown more compassion, things wouldn't be going this way."
"And maybe, its not too late to show him that compassion. Hm?"
You lean down and give him a quick kiss and he looks rather surprised.
"I suppose that is something we could try."
You can't help but smile at his use of the word 'we'.
You hug him tightly once again.
"I'll make dinner now."

ImpostAlbedo!
You'd kept it a secret for a long time
you'd known about the other Albedo's presence in these mountains long before Albedo himself had.
His insecurities very obviously lay in not being good enough for Rhinedottir.
Why wasn't he offered the same chance he was? It's not his fault her damn experiment failed.
"Something you want to say to me?" You hear him say suddenly. There's a bite to his tone, but that doesn't scare you away like he sometimes wished it would.
You'd found him sitting on a rock, looking out over Monstadt. It wasn't your intention to sneak up on him, so you didn't mind him noticing your presence before you'd even said anything to him.
"Yeah," You say, elbowing him to scoot over so you could sit down next to him. "You've been different lately."
Even from the mountain, you can see the citizens of Monstadt frolicking. You look over at him, he doesn't look at you.
"How so?" He asks.
"Your eyes are full of longing. Why don't you just go?" You ask. He wants off this mountain for longer than mere hours, you know. He wants to experience Monstadt, you know. You know it better than even he might.
"Perhaps not under the guise of the Monstadt's Chief Alchemist?" You hummed, tilting your head.
"But that's all they'd see me as anyways," He muttered, looking down at his hands which rested in his lap.
"Then why don't we pay him a visit?" You asked, patting his lower back. You still weren't sure why he was feeling like... this.
"Impossible. As I said before, imperfect things should be disposed of according to people like them." He muttered, crossing his arms tightly and looking away.
"Their goal would be to dispose of me once more. He drew a sword in my presence mere hours ago." He muttered,
"That's because you tried to kill him and take his place." You say in a sweet tone, leaning your head on his shoulder. He relaxes slightly.
"Well, I don't suppose you'd be overjoyed if your double showed up out of nowhere, hm?" He huffed.
"Well, I've never been in a situation like that, so I don't know how I'd react," You shrugged- the view up here really is beautiful- "But I do know that the Chief Alchemist has sympathy and compassion for all forms of life."
"That includes you, as long as you're not trying to kill him."
He pushed you off his shoulder and put up.
"Don't you understand?" He shouted, taking a step back, "My creator threw me away! Why wouldn't they?"
His hands found their way to his blonde hair.
"What was so wrong with me? Even if I wasn't right..."
You stood up and put your hand on his arm. You two were standing very dangerously close to the edge of a minor cliff.
"Stop it, it's not your fault that something like that happened. She didn't care about you or Albedo, she just cared about the success of her experiments." You snapped, your grip on his arm tightening.
His eyes widened slightly. The thought that she didn't care about him was jarring, but in the back of his mind, he already knew that. He'd just thought that the perfect version of himself might've had a chance. But the fact that he'd been cast out only proved that Rhinedottir cared for perfection and not about them.
"Okay," Was all he said, lowering his arms and hanging his head. "I understand your point."
"And I understand that you feel like you don't deserve to experience the world the way Albedo did, but if that is what you want, you have to go and get it." You said, sitting him back down on the rock and wrapping him into a warm hug.
"You and Albedo are both your own people and you deserve the love that everyone else gives him, okay?"
You felt his hands grip at the back of your coat.
"Okay,"

Today was the Windblume Festival, an event citizens and foreigners look forward to year-round in Monstadt. Even the Knights of Favonious were given the day off. You'd spent the early morning decorating your hair with flowers and putting up decorations. You'd been giving out flowers to the children around Monstadt when you suddenly heard a bunch of footsteps running towards you.
"Y/N!" You heard a voice call your name. You turn and see Klee running towards you, a group of children parading behind her. "Mr. Albedo wants to talk to you, Y/N!"
You adjusted a rather prominent Windwheel Aster in your hair, a Windblume gift you'd received from Kaeya long before many people in the town were even awake. Klee and the other children giggle as you set down your basket of flowers to crouch down to Klee's level.
"Where's Mr. Albedo, Klee? Why does he want to see me?" You smile, picking up a flower and handing it to her.
"He's at the Favonious headquarters... he's waiting for you." She says, bashfully.
"Oh, yeah?" You laugh. "Okay, lets go."
You take your flowers and Klee's hand in yours and walk to the headquarters. The other kids continue to parade behind you, and you didn't have half the mind to ruin their spirits and send them away.
"Albedo!" You called once you'd entered, the children still following after. He stepped out of his lab and gave you a close-eyed smile. That smile quickly turned to an expression of surprise as he noticed the trail of kids behind you.
"Ah, I didn't realize you'd bring company." He said in a joking tone. "Could we... talk in private, Y/N?"
He seemed rather bashful just like Klee as he asked you and you found it endearing. They really are just like siblings.
"Of course," You smile, handing your basket of flowers to Klee. "Give these to people, okay?"
She smiled and nodded, "Kay!"
"See you later, Mr. Albedo and Y/N!" She waved before running out with the rest of the children.
"You're rather good with her," He says, taking both your hands in his. "I'd say you're even more patient than I am."
You let out a small laugh, "I'm sure she likes you better, though. You're her biiiiig brother."
He looks at the Windwheel Aster in your hair and then looks away as you tease him.
"Who gave you that?" He asks, pulling you into his office so that he could get back to what he was doing.
"What- Ah..." You went quiet. You'd only now realized that Windblume gifts are sometimes romantic. "It's from Captain Kaeya. Ah... a congratulations on my promotion..."
You lied through your teeth to make him feel better. In reality, you had no interest in Captain Kaeya.
"On the very first day of the Windblume Festival? Surely he had other intentions." He said, flipping through the pages of a book that he'd laid out on his desk. He sounded cold now, in contrast to his sweet and joking tone from earlier.
"Well, I didn't want to deny his gift, It'd be rather rude..." You said nervously. "You know I wouldn't do that to hurt you, right?"
He sighs and closes the book.
"Yeah..." He mumbled, turning around. He doesn't look at you, though- an almost ashamed expression on his face. He reaches into a drawer and pulls out a flower unlike one you've ever seen. You've heard that Windblume gifts come in all shapes and sizes, but you weren't sure you'd ever pass this up for something else.
"I specially cultivated this flower for you. I wanted to be the first to give you a Windblume gift, but I guess I was too caught up in my personal studies today."
He tries to hand you the flower, but you stop him and guide his hand to your hair.
"Its only fair," You hum. He smiles and spends some time fixing the flower into your hair next to the flower Kaeya had given you, taking all the focus away from it's orange petals.
"Sorry, 'Bedo. You're stuck with me." You smile, giving him a kiss before grabbing his hand. His face is beginning to turn red, but you look away to save him the embarrassment as he composes himself.
"Wanna get something to eat?" You asked, and he nodded. For someone that is flustered so easily these days, he sure puts himself back together quickly.
"Its a shame that spiders aren't considered a delicacy in Monstadt."
"Albedo!"

You were never opposed to helping out around the town. Even when you were done for the day as a member of the Knights of Fevonious, you lent a hand to whoever needed it. Currently, you were helping Flora organize her followers.
You can hear the cheers from Angel's Share even this far away. It sounds like they're having fun. You would join them if you weren't so busy. It's not like the bar is really your scene anyway.
But when you were walking past the tavern door, holding a flower pot, Diluc flung the door open and burst from the chaos. He grabbed your hands, disregarding the flower pot that crashed to the ground, and handed you a sack of mora.
"Take. Him." He said, through gritted teeth. You giggled quietly at his expression. He looked really tired, so you obliged without much teasing.
You entered the tavern and found him immediately, laughing away with some adventurers and spilling his drink everywhere. You pushed through them and grabbed his arm, tugging him away from the crowd.
"Okay, big guy, you're coming home with me." You hummed, looking up/down at him. "Let's go."
"I don'f wanna go..." He whined, tugging his arm away weakly. "Lemme go.."
He was slurring his words and it was honestly cute.
"Don't worry, you can come back tomorrow or something." You hummed. He made a nauseous sound. "Or, maybe I'm making you take the day off."
He continued to whine as you just about dragged him home, but he didn't fight you otherwise.
You lugged him into bed and took off his shoes, before standing in front of his limp form with your hands on your hips.
"C'mon, get undressed." You said, patting his chest.
"Sorry," He slurred, letting out a cough, "I have a parhtnerrr.."
He tried to stand up,
"I really haahve to go.." He mumbled, but you pushed him back down.
"Please don't..." He mumbled, pushing you away weakly.
"I am your partner, silly." You say, grabbing his face and making him look at you. "See?"
He seemed to relax a lot.
"Ohh..." He drawled.
"Now hurry. I want you to get as much rest as you can." You said,
He grabbed your face instead, kissing your nose.
"Hey, I missed you... all day... you didn't even come to the tavern..." He said in a pouting voice.
"Yeah? Well, the sooner you get dressed the sooner we can talk," You hummed, pulling him up. "C'mon, I'll help you."

April fools~
Ummm here’s an actual teaser tho bc I’ll be done with it soon… (the word count at the top is accurate as of now)
"Move over." You said after approaching him. "Sitting on the ice is cold.”
He looked at you for a few moments before scooting over. You sat down next to him. It was just big enough to fit the both of you if you sat right next to him. His body became rigid, but he didn't seem entirely uncomfortable.
"What are you making?" You asked. It smelled like it wouldn't kill you, at least. That is, if he let you have any.
"Food." He mumbled. You tried not to think about the fact that he probably didn't know any monetary dishes or their names, even if he was making something similar. You leaned against him slightly.
"You don't even feel warm." You mumbled into his shoulder, and he let you. He didn't say anything, though. Unlike Albedo, he didn't seem like the type to drone on for no reason. You were kind of glad.

PLSSSS Kaeya x Gn reader who is younger and smaller than him and the reader lovessss head pats. The reader usually don't talk much but when it comes to Kaeya they are totally opposite of it. The reader is very inpatient with most people and gets angry easily but when they get a head pat from kaeya their mood changes. And they will never get angry or mad at him.
Ignore if you feel don't like writing this
: (( it's ok.

"Y/N!" Jean called after you as you walked through the hall of the Knights of Fevonious, carrying a stack of papers. She smiled brightly at you and took the stack of papers you were holding from your hands.
"Please, let me take this." She said. It surprised you, to say the least.
"Kaeya is currently out surveying the town's shops if you'd like to join him." She looked, knowingly down at you. She knew about your relationship and didn't mind pairing you two together often as long as it didn't disturb your work. You glanced up at her with a slightly annoyed look- she'd interrupted your workflow- but nodded your head quickly. You'd been filing papers all day, so you hadn't had a chance to see him.
"You can continue your current task when you return," She said as you walked away. You waved energetically but didn't say a word as you left.
"Y/N!" Kaeya called as you passed by the Good Hunter. You'd almost missed him in your search for him. Your mind was clouded by the slightly angering thought that you'd be working a lot slower once you got back and it would take longer to finish your tasks. He noticed.
You didn't often have to convey your feelings to him through words, he could read between the lines well enough.
"Jean interrupt you again?" He asked, raising his hand up to pat you on your head. You nodded. "She means, well, you know."
"I know," You mumbled, leaning into his hand as he continued to pet you.
"I was about to get some lunch, want to join me, darling?" He asked, motioning towards the tables at the good hunter. You nodded. His hand stayed on your head until you started moving towards the counter.
"What do you want to eat?" He asked, crossing his arms and leaning his head on top of yours while you both looked at the menu.
"Barbatos Ratatouille," You hummed, "I really need a pick-me-up."
"As you wish, darling." He hummed against your hair, before taking out his pouch of mora. "Hey, Sara, add a Barbatos Ratatouille onto my order."
He slides her some mora before the two of you walk over to the tables.
"I can order for myself," You huff. It's kind of annoying when he does that, but it's less interaction for you, so you can't really be mad.
"I know, darling." He hums.
"How many of the shops have your surveyed?" You ask, changing the subject.
"All except for Flora's store. Grand Master Jean also gave me the daunting task of finding out the identity of that wandering merchant." He said, pulling a paper out of his bag. "The locals say his name is Liben. It's an odd one if you ask me."
He laughs to himself as Sara brings your food to your table.
"Thank you, Sara." He says giving her a smile. She glances at you, and you nod hastily in agreement.
"Eat up," He hums.
"Is it that guy that wears the sunglasses?" You ask between bites of your food.
"I believe so,"
"Ah, one time he traded me some silly-looking gems for carrots, so it doesn't seem like a scam at the very least." You said. "I'll show you them later."
"I'd love to see them. I'm sure they're as beautiful as you are." He said, resting his chin in his hand and staring at you lovingly. You didn't even have time to get embarrassed someone jostled your chair, causing you to spill some of your food onto your clothing.
You sat there shocked for a moment before looking down at the assailant of your mellow afternoon. It was Bennett.
"Are you okay?" Kaeya asks, standing to help Bennett up. He then moved to stand behind your chair.
"Yep!" Bennett says, recovering quickly. He nervously rubs the back of his neck and looks down at you. "Gee, I didn't mean to do that, I'm really sorry."
You glared at him for a moment, before casting your glance away. You were quite annoyed, but it was an accident, so it wasn't anyone's fault.
"It's my bad luck acting up again, I'll buy you new clothes!" He says, pressing his hands together and bowing his head.
"It's okay, Bennett." You said, giving him a smile. "The day was getting pretty boring anyway."
He looked so relieved that you weren't mad at him.
"Do you want to eat with us?" You asked him, looking up to Kaeya to see if he was okay with it too. He simply nodded, patting your head again.
"Really?" He said, his eyes lighting up. "Of course!"
You and Kaeya got back to talking as Bennett went to order. Lunch was very lively that day.
