STUCK BY GLUE — YJW

SYNOPSIS. When Jungwon is sent to the Alfea school for Fairies for a week to work on a project for his midterm, he didn’t expect he would enjoy it all that much. After all, he had gotten dumped by an Alfea fairy not too long ago. However once he arrives, he’s immediately infatuated with a girl who he figures is the girl of his dreams. Even after finding out that she’s the Princess of Domino who’s supposed to be married off to someone else in the future, Jungwon can’t help but be stuck to her by the glue.

🩰 — SHOTARO invites you to his dance practice

shotaro who was over the moon when you told him that you thought he looked the coolest when he was dancing. so he decided to ask you to come watch him practice for his upcoming performance. he has never invited someone over to watch him dance before. dance was something he held so close to his heart.

he wants to impress you so badly :( but because he was nervous, he didn’t do well. you questioned him when you noticed how shotaro looked so tense and stiff. you knew shotaro was an amazing dancer, so you were concerned that he wasn’t feeling well.

“i’m nervous because someone i like is watching me.”

🗒️ — you find a post-it note on your desk from EUNSEOK

ever since you and eunseok have been assigned as seatmates, he has never stopped doodling little doraemons on the corners of your notebooks and worksheets. even when you slapped his hands away and asked him to stop ( because you actually wanted to pay attention ! why was he disturbing you >:( ) he would only softly laugh at you before proceeding to doodle on post-it notes and then passing them to you at the end of class.

one day, his doraemon looked a little different !! it had a little speech bubble that said, “i like you.” your heart almost stopped when you read it, but you knew eunseok liked to play little pranks on you, so you just ignored him.

“why are you not replying to my doraemon ? do you not like me ?”

📓 — SUNGCHAN has made a scrapbook for you

“for you,” sungchan mutters as he shoves a scrapbook in your hands. it definitely wasn’t the prettiest scrapbook you’ve seen; the pages were unevenly cut ( was that a coffee stain ? ), the photos were haphazardly glued and the stickers were plastered without any regard to a colour scheme.

hugging the scrapbook to your chest, you knew he probably spent weeks or even months on this, pouring his heart out on each and every page. jung sungchan was built for sports, not arts and crafts. you could tell by the remnants of glue stuck on his fingertips and specks of glitter under his left eye. but you, you were built for arts and crafts. and it touched you that he was willing to step into your world.

“if the time and effort i spent on the scrapbook isn’t enough to show my love for you, i’ll say it verbally too. i love you.”

💌 — you've received a love letter from WONBIN

heart pounding, cheeks flushed, tightly clutching his love letter, so many thoughts were rushing through wonbin’s head. was the twenty-fifth draft better ? his eyebrows furrowed as he tried to recall what he wrote on each draft. no time to think; you were here already.

you flashed him a soft smile and his cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red ( he felt like he was burning up ). “hey wonbin, why did you ask to meet m-” he swiftly pressed the now slightly crumpled love letter into your palm and quickly retreated before you could even respond. he couldn’t bear to see your reaction.

hi, this is wonbin. i like you, if it wasn’t already obvious enough. and i’m so sorry if this letter shocked you; i just needed to get it off my chest…

☀️ — SEUNGHAN brings you on a picnic

you remind seunghan of the sun. you were bright and burning like the sun at noon; your ambition was something he greatly admired. however, he wished you’d stop burning yourself away. that was his job – to keep you from shining too brightly and giving too much of yourself away. you were also soft and gentle like the sun in the morning, always willing to care for others and always so kind and forgiving to those who do not deserve it.

but when you’re seated next to him on the red and white checkered mat, he concludes that you remind him the most of the sun during the golden hour. beautiful, warm and fleeting. except he wishes to stay by your side forever.

“the sun is setting so fast.”

“it is, isn’t it.”

“i wish the sun would never set. i don’t want our time together to come to an end.”

“monchhichi !” sohee looks up from his book at the call of his nickname. ah, you were here to disturb him again. “what are you doing ?” you peeked over his shoulder. his heart almost fell out at the close proximity. did you truly have no idea of the effect you had on him ? or were you doing this on purpose ?

“i have something for you.” sohee stuffs his hand into his backpack, digging around. he pulled a monchhichi keychain and dangled it in front of your face. “monchhichi !” you let out a gasp of surprise. “did you really buy this for me ?”

“i’m going back to my hometown for a couple of weeks. i got it in case you’ll miss me.”

✨What's a fic you've posted you wish you could breathe life into again and have people talking about it? (or simply a fic you wish got more credit)

Okay, first things first, I'm pretty satisfied with how all of my fics have been perceived so far, so I can't really complain.

That being said: Someone who cares is doing significantly less good than Hic sunt dracones, statistics-wise. It is my own emotional support fic and incredibly close to my heart, so I really am delighted about every positive comment I get about it.

🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?

Erm, everything? Can I say everything? 🤣

I'm literally a nervous wreck after posting, anxiously hitting F5 and waiting for feedback, mind in a constant loop of self-doubt.

What if my characterization is off?

What if the premise sucks?

What if my readers don't like the direction I'm taking the story?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

🌿how does creating make you feel?

So many things!!!

For one thing, it scratches the brain itch. I’ve always had to create things, as far back as I remember. When I was a kid, my parents could stick me in a corner with some paper and scissors and crayons and glue and wouldn’t hear from me for hours.

Even during the 15 years that I didn’t write, I always had to be doing something creative. Knitting, painting, drawing, photographing, you name it. It’s an urge that I need to fulfill and I get crabby if I can’t.

Seeing the end results makes me feel insanely proud and accomplished. It may not be perfect, but I made that! I sunk my teeth into it and saw it through and made this wonderful thing that I love.

How dare you make me say nice things about myself?!

Okay … I guess my writing does something to other people that makes them want to create their own stuff. People have repeatedly told me that reading my fics kickstarted their own imagination into creating stories or art of their own. And every time that happens, I get so incredibly happy because that is like a god-tier compliment right there! That somebody found my writing so engaging that it made their brain spin off on a tangent and they created something out of it!

💝what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

Dragons! Dragons dragons dragons dragoooooons!!!!

The feedback I am getting for this fic just won’t stop blowing my mind, seriously, and every time I think it’s done, you guys hit me in right in the feels again with your gorgeous comments and rec lists mentions and fucking FANART! I am incredibly happy and humbled and awed that people are loving it so much!

That would be Someone like you, which is a little bonus story to Someone who cares. It's a purely self-indulgent little one-shot featuring married Steddie and a baby. This universe is my emotional support AU and I loved visiting the boys again. 💕

💎why is writing important to you?

Wow, where to start?

Because it's incredibly fun and allows me to completely immerse myself in the story I'm creating. Because I get to be self-indulgent and spoil myself and make the story exactly like I want it to be.

And because I have met so many amazing, creative, lovely ppl through it over the past few months, who bring me joy and make me smile every single day.

I honestly don't know how I could ever go without it for so long!

Okay, so I'm still firmly stuck on the demon!Eddie brainworm and fully planning on turning it into a chaptered fic. Jungwon had never felt this nervous in his entire life. The moment he stepped onto the lucious green fields on the Alfea grounds, he could feel his heart rate pick up. Although he tried to act alright on the outside, he was panicking heavily on the inside. And everyone could tell.

Even Sungchan, who wasn’t quite fond of Jungwon, noticed— and felt a little bad. After all it wasn’t common to see the leader so downcast.

His break up with Eui had left a huge stain on his view of Alfea fairies and relationships in general. It wasn’t that he genuinely thought that they were all horrible people, but each fairy he saw would remind him of his breakup— and it wasn’t a pretty memory.

But nonetheless he had an assignment to do. So he let out a long breath and began making his way towards Faragonda’s office, with a heavy heart and a long list of regrets.

“Don’t worry Jungwon, if we bump into Eui we’ll just walk away.” Riki reassured, conscious of his best friend’s heavy breathing. “But even then Alfea is pretty big so what even are the chances we’ll see her?”

As Jungwon was about to nod in agreeance, he heard Beomgyu let out a gasp. “Apparently… pretty high?”

Jungwon felt his heart drop down to his stomach when he made eye contact to the girl who had previously been his lover. Of course, he didn’t have any lingering feelings for her. Those emotions had faded away the moment she cheated on him. However, looking into her comforting eyes had reminded him of a time in which Jungwon was at his happiest— each intimate moment they shared flashed through his mind.

“…Jungwon?”

Jungwon stared at his past lover from their spot in the courtyard, as his friends and Sungchan’s specialist squad held their breaths and waited for Jungwon’s reaction.

The aforementioned boy was holding his own breath as well, not quite sure what to say in that situation.

Eui gave him a smile though it wasn’t the sweet kind, rather a fake one that made Jungwon feel nervous. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

“What are YOU doing here?!” Haechan said. “Get it? Like from Bojack?” Sunoo nudged Haechan’s shoulder slightly to tell him to stop.

Before Haechan could retaliate, or before Eui could open her mouth again, Jungwon had already begun sprinting away.

He hadn’t meant to, in fact he had been mentally preparing to confront the girl. But in the heat of the moment he realized he couldn’t do it, and felt his fight or flight kick in.

Jungwon didn’t quite know where he was going. He’s been to Alfea a few times in the past, however he still felt unfamiliar with the environment. And sooner than later, he found himself in a random empty corrider inside the school.

…Why did I have to run so far? Jungwon thought to himself.

Though, it was nice to have a quiet place to gather his thoughts.

Jungwon slowed down his breathing, and sat down near the end of the corrider. He couldn’t believe he was acting in such a way— especially over a girl he clearly held no romantic feelings for. All he wanted was to complete his research project, and be done with fairies forever.

He didn’t anticipate his feelings on that would change.

As Jungwon sat there with his head in his hands, he heard the faint murmurs around the corner. He was too exhausted and worn out to move, yet he wanted to avoid any unnecessary encounters so he stood up.

He began to walk outside of the corrider he was in and into a neighboring one— when a sharp squeal reached his ears.

“Watch out!”

Before Jungwon could react any further, he felt another body collide with his in such a way that it made the two of them roll onto the ground. With not enough time to brace for the impact Jungwon just accepted his fate, and let himself and the person roll until the momentum came to an end.

“Oh my gosh, are you okay?! I’m so sorry…” Jungwon’s eyes shot open at the sound of the person’s voice. She sounded… cute?

“Y/N, get off of him. You can’t just—” Her friends voice faded as Jungwon opened his eyes to take a glance at the girl who was still on top of him.

The moment his eyes met her own, Jungwon felt his jaw slack ever so slightly.

Woah…

She was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.

The girl raised an eyebrow. “So I’m assuming you’re okay?”

Jungwon opened his mouth to respond, but his words got caught in his throat before he could do so much as say ‘Yes’.

All he could get out was a faint and indistinguishable noise, before he pushed her off of him and sprinted in the opposite direction.

Jungwon couldn’t help himself. The moment he shared a glance with the girl, he knew he had fallen in love with her at first sight.

And that was a scary thought to him.
