I've had to do this and that and my doctor said this and that he can't find this... and she was like

My fav thing about TAZ is that any aspect out of context sounds fucking bonkers.
Like, in the balance finale there's a scene in which Garfield (who is very specifically never described visually bc most people imagine him as like. The Lasagna Cat. Who in this universe is the most powerful warlock in the realm and also has a hobby of cloning people, which is great for the one character that got forced into haunting a mannequin) is summoned by an alien spaceship that runs on the power of friendship so he could beat up some flashing balls. In D&D.
And that was just. Such a normal scene in the narrative. No one blinked an eye. I would like to bow down to Griffins clear unmatched talent for making me feel such big emotions over ridiculous shit like a goddamned umbrella or a regular ass pair of jeans or the idea of a taco recipe.

thinking about the scene in Reign Storm where Vlad is helping them finish building the Ecto Skeleton, and in the scene where he's building it, he's in this like pinkish button down and overalls, but then in the next scene, he's putting his suit jacket on, and he's back in the clothes he usually wears.
This implies that he just... Willingly got fully changed right there in the lab in front of everyone and I love that so much lol The whole Fenton clan (minus maybe Jazz I can't remember if she's there) just saw Vlad in his underwear in their lab at least once and Danny like actively watched, 'cause Vlad was still getting changed when Danny taunts him about how much Jack and Maddie love each other 😂

Is anyone else who is directionally challenged terrible at visualizing settings while reading a novel, unless the author is very, VERY specific? The only two authors’ writing styles that I can visualize settings with (so far) are Laura Ingalls Wilder and George Orwell. Because their styles are painfully meticulous.
For instance…
How most authors write a setting: “I walked into the cramped room. There was a bed underneath a window, with a nightstand next to it, against the wall. Across the room sat a heavy oak desk.” [later in the story] “Tracy arose from the bed, walking over to the desk. She turned on the lamp, taking a pen out of the cup.“ [later in the story] “I could feel the door opening behind my back as I sat at the desk.”
How I write a setting: “I walked over a shaggy area rug, into the cramped room. On the left wall there was a window, measuring five feet long, which was more than half of the room’s width. Under this window, in the corner, was a bed; it ran parallel to the far wall. A nightstand was shoved between the bed and the wall, allowing a small space for a person to walk. A small, pearly-colored lamp was on the nightstand. In the middle of the right wall was a heavy oak desk, atop which various writing implements were stored in cups, alongside another lamp.”
Obnoxiously verbose, right? I write like I’m commissioning the Tabernacle to be built. I do this so the reader has a definitive, three-dimensional model in their mind which will not change, warp, or distort as the story progresses and the environment is further elaborated on. I do this so we’re both on the same page with regard to where things are placed, so the reader will not have to correct their mental image as the story progresses; because that personally irritates the hell out of me. In fact, I need to have a specific model in my mind before I write a setting so I know where the characters can move. I have to draw maps on paper or in my mind before I start writing, or my story will be the most godawful thing you’ve read in your life.

a fun little fact about diana is that she wears her watch with the face on the inside of her wrist
while working for umbrella (well, undercover for the rival company, that is), diana's employment was never common knowledge to the public – because why would a pharmaceutical company need a herpetologist? instead, she simply held a position as a researcher at raccoon university, and would occasionally do lectures, but for the most part she would just take the cable car underground to the nest
when diana collaborated with the connections through h.c.f. in the early 2000s, they named one of the d-type bioweapons after her
diana saw a lot of her younger self in sherry when they first met due to the similarities in their situations with their parents, and the way she behaved around both herself and albert. despite her dislike of children, she couldn't help but feel for her and even came to enjoy when she would stay over on occasion (i'd love if my brain would let me finish the rewrite of their first meeting because i touch on all of this in there and diana's thought process ough)
