To THOSE Heartstopper fans (and THOSE All Fandoms in general):
Are you for real? You do realize actors are not the characters they play, right? Like you get that, right? Also, you obviously watched the show, you might even have read the books. You do realize Harry is a villain, right? You do know YOU are Harry, don't you? Don't you?
I'm so disturbed by the fact that I need to ask these questions.
Love from a fan that Respects Normal Fucking Boundaries

Queen of Hearts: Tiki
Queen of Clubs: Michaiah
JACKS:
Tumblr media
Jack of Diamonds: Forde
Jack of Spades: Inigo
Jack of Hearts: Seliph
Jack of Clubs: Leo
IMAGE SOURCES:
Background: Here
Card backing: Here
Aces: The French Wikipages for Awakening and Fates
Face cards: Heroes and official art [Inigo specifically here]
FUN FACTS NOBODY ASKED FOR:
The face cards did not align this way naturally. All of them had to be zoomed in at least twice, most four, and a few had to be scooted over a little to avoid being cropped in the wrong places or to fix general alignment issues
The game doesn't properly support transparent images, so I had to give each face card a background; really all I did was colour drop the deck's base colour and use that as the background so it would match
Each face card was shrunk to the card's base dimensions [422x562] with the background being twice that size [844x1124] to allow for easier placement without running into a black background because of said transparency issues
I didn't make any changes to the playing background. I just set it and left it as is
The card backing isn't quite aligned in the center, but I have no motivation to try and fix that right now
The backing border was completely unintentional. I chose that deck to build off of simply because of the gold rim around the face-up cards. I didn't realise it would come with a backing border, but hey it works
I chose Fable as the base theme to build off of for two reasons: 1. Aesthetic™, and 2. The background music is the closest to Fire Emblem music the game has [I really wish you could choose your own in-game ambience instead of having to use a preset theme first]
The stars effect has no real impact on the theme, I just like it
I initially wanted Ferdinand to be the Jack of Diamonds, but I didn't want to use his pre-skip design, which is all Heroes had, so Forde was chosen instead
Takumi was briefly considered for Jack of Diamonds and King of Clubs before those roles went to Forde and Eliwood
Ishtar was going to be the Queen of Clubs, but I decided three Genealogy characters was enough, so Michaiah took this spot
Other candidates for Queen of Clubs were Cherche, Celica, Seiros, and Eirika
I went with the Chrom!Inigo edit instead of normal Inigo or Lazward simply because Chrom!Inigo is best Inigo and you cannot change my mind
Alm, Michaiah, and Forde are the only ones who use official art instead of Heroes art. I preferred Alm and Michaiah's official art while Forde isn't even in the game yet [get on that, IS]
I originally wanted to use Edelgard's official post-skip art as I didn't [and still don't] like how her Heroes art sharply cuts off, but it ultimately clashed badly when trying to align it, so I had to use her Legendary alt [her pre-skip and Three Hopes designs were out of the question from the get-go]. I aligned the cutoff with the edge of the card as best I could and I'm surprised it worked
The only set in stone characters from the very beginning were Eltshan, Seliph, and Inigo. The rest I decided as I went on
Tiki was completely spur of the moment. As soon as I remembered she existed, I was like "Oh yeah, adult Tiki would be a perfect Queen of Hearts". I saw her Brave alt and didn't look back
I briefly considered using Eltshan's performance alt, but decided against it
While I knew I wanted Seliph as the Jack of Hearts, I initially wasn't sure which version to use, but I ultimately went with the version I liked the most, which was his Brave alt
Lewyn was a toss-up as to which version I wanted to use, but I went with his festival alt as I liked it more than his normal version
Other characters I considered but with no solid placement were Sigurd, Arvis, Lucina, Ayra, Soleil, Dorothea, Olivia, Deirdre, Say'ri, Elincia, Ryouma, Innes, Tana, Ephraim, Felix, and Constance
Inigo and the aces required some additional editing to remove their white backgrounds before setting up the off-white backgrounds they were supposed to have for this set. I worked on Inigo's for so long trying to edit out lossy pixels around the edges of his art that the editor crashed on me. Hurray for autorecovery

TLDR: SRB Zoom Chat
In case you missed it, Sarah did a webinar on Zoom a couple weeks ago hosted by The Sunday Morning Transport to answer questions about Tears Waiting to be Diamonds. You can get a 60-day free subscription to access both the story and the Zoom over on Sarah’s tumblr, but for those who are unable to access for any reason, I received a request to provide a little recap, so here goes! Tried to make it somewhat organized but also it is going to be a little chaotic haha.
New IOL Deets
The scene of Luke and Elliot getting together and confessing their feelings was almost only ONE SENTENCE LONG. Many thanks on behalf of the fandom to the anonymous critique partner of Sarah’s who told her that absolutely wouldn’t fly.
Elliot and Luke Post-IOL
Sarah says that Elliot doesn’t go over the border much, even though he is able to. Luke is afraid of Elliot going somewhere where he can’t follow, and even though Elliot doesn’t even think of it as a possibility, he tries to be respectful of it.
Pet names: Elliot sometimes will take classics and make them weird (like he does at the end of IOL). Luke will occasionally embarrassedly call Elliot “darling”.
Luke has fairly regular contact with the harpies. Elliot tends to spearhead their contact in terms of keeping up correspondence - he knows relatives even Luke doesn’t, and they often attend harpy festivals. According to Sarah, it’s a classic case of the in-law being the favorite kid. She jokes that he could have just gone to the harpies and lived with them when he was exiled, and they would have gladly taken him in.
WHY SARAH
TWTBD Parts 1 & 2 were initially meant to be published on consecutive Sundays. SARAH SUGGESTED THAT THERE BE A LONGER WAIT IN BETWEEN.
Why Elliot do that?
Even though Elliot has made some progress with his insecurities, he still thinks that Luke doesn’t truly know the worst that he can do, and just puts up with him. Over the years, they have worked through smaller issues, so he’s learned that he can be forgiven for these things (while before that he considered himself completely unloveable). Once he’s committed treason, he thinks that is the worst possible thing, something completely antithetical to Luke’s value system as a soldier, so he considers it inevitable that their relationship is over.
Sarah likened it to “the mortifying ordeal of being known” –  Elliot never holds himself back from being completely known, because then he can be loved for who he is. But Elliot doesn’t think that Luke knows the worst he can be (even though Luke obviously does and accepts him for it).
Luke’s Letters
Luke starts with angry letters, then more worried, then back and forth between the two. Some of the letters Luke sends to Elliot are well thought out and composed (probably because Serene helped him), while others are basically drunk late night texts that he has to admit to Serene later with shame (side note from me: anyone wanna write the fic that comprises all his letters? or am I gonna have to do that myself).
Luke doesn’t even consider them broken up in the first place and was entirely unsurprised to hear what Elliot had done when he returned, while Elliot dramatically thinks they’ve been broken up for months. He doesn’t want to hurt himself by looking at the letters when he thinks he knows that they will say.
The meantime:
It had been a month since Elliot was exiled by the time Luke and Serene returned from war. By the time Luke arrives it has been almost four months. A lot of that time was spent figuring out what thad happened, possibly variously threatening people who had been planning on executing Elliot.
“A lot of Elliot’s diplomacy relies on the fact that there are people who will enact violence for him”
Peace is not a stable thing, and there isn’t an easy answer for it. As they get older, it becomes more difficult, since adults are held more accountable for their actions than children.
Serene and Luke actually were trying to figure out the diplomatic way to solve the situation: i.e., sending letters to form a plan once communication was initiated.  After getting no response, they tried to get him pardoned, which was difficult considering someone apparently has a transcript of a long speech Elliot gave that essentially said “I did it and I’m not sorry”.
Luke and Serene would sometimes spontaneously decide they were going to go find him alone, and the other would talk them down from it, or they’d decide to go together, and Golden would convince them to wait.
Where’s Serene?
The story was unfortunately too long to include Serene, or even the few references to her that were initially included (such as Mark mentioning a rumor of the Sunborn Champion being involved with her).
Logistically Sarah couldn’t get Serene to the battle, since Luke would have flown to get to Elliot as fast as possible. She says that Serene definitely arrives within the day.
What happens after TWTBD?
Luke and Elliot have to have several conversations, starting with a yelling conversation, a tender conversation, and then the normal combination of yelling/tender/insults.
“If Elliot says loser, Luke knows that he’s okay and so pretty much the first words that Elliot said to Luke in the battlefield were reassuring because when he says loser, he means I still love you, which is what Luke was getting worried about.”
Elliot puts himself in tall towers and high places specifically so Luke can find him.
Sarah specifically quotes “This Ain’t a Love Song” by scouting for girls: “I know I’m lost, but I’m waiting to be found”.
More IOL
Sarah has said this before, but just in case anyone has missed it: she definitely has ideas of what happens to the characters in the future. She has said she has a strong story idea which would also need another novel in between to explain the middle events – so essentially a trilogy. TWTBD would take place in between these second and third books – the second would explain the events up to TWTBD, and the third would continue on from there. To be clear, Sarah has not confirmed whether this is actually in the works yet, or whether these would take full-length novel form or short story form.
On Trans and Nonbinary Individuals in IOL (specifically in elven culture):
Sarah says there would be some more freedoms for nonbinary/trans elves or dwarves than in human culture, but they would be restricted in other ways.
Sarah acknowledges that the IOL universe has been represented in a more binary way thus far; she plans to delve more into gender beyond the binary in the future after taking time to get the details and complexity right.
Long Live Evil Information
Sarah’s new upcoming novel! The protagonist is thrown into her favorite fantasy novel, but is unexpectedly classified as an evil sorceress and cast out with the rest of the villains. From how Sarah talks about it, the novel delves into villainy in fiction and what truly makes a villain. It also explores the joy of finding magic even if you think you’ve reached the stage of your life where you’re past it. (I AM SO EXCITED)
Hopefully this was somewhat coherent!

that's one fine-looking manuscript you've got there
tl;dr: if you've got a book in the works, I want to proofread and/or edit it; I'm good at what I do, and because I'm building a new business from the ground, my rates are on a sliding scale that will put a Slip'n'Slide to shame; message for deets; trust me, I'm more scared of you than you are of me.
This isn't a pitch. (Although I never could resist a douchey post title.) This is just me reaching out to fellow writeblrs, with a so-informal-I-had-to-blur-my-zoom-background offer/request.
If you have a manuscript in the works, I want to proofread and/or edit it. Maybe you're planning to self-publish, maybe you want to score a small press, maybe you want to pitch to agents. Heck, maybe you're book-binding a fic and want it to be as shiny as it gets! Whatever you're planning to do with your book and whatever your budget is, I want to help.
I'm starting my own business as an independent editor. It's something I've wanted to do for a very long time, and last week, my steady freelance writing gig of eight years folded in the scope of one afternoon due to corporate shenanigans (yay, capitalism!), and I figured: if I was looking for a sign, that was it.
I'm a good writer, and also a good editor. I have an eye for detail, an ear for language, and a butt for staying in the chair until the job is done. Also, thanks to my deep roots in fanfic, I've got a ton of skill points in characterization, voice and the ability to match a story's style and vibe.
I've been writing and editing my own and other people's work for the best part of 15 years now, but because a lot of it was ghostwriting, putting together a portfolio is going to take some time. Having an editor or proofreader credit on a handful of titles that are finished and out there would make a world of difference: which is why, if you take a chance on me at this so-early-it's-still-late stage, you'll get a very low price, very good service, and a fiercely loyal word wrangler on your side for years to come.
This is where I should sign off with an enthusiastic call to action. I've tried a bunch and deleted them all. I know you're supposed to project confidence at times like this, but I've written way too much marketing copy in my day, and being fake on the page makes me queasy. I like being honest, and the honest thing is, I'm trying something I've wanted to do for a long time, and I'm excited, and also scared. Starting a new thing is hard, but I know I can do a good job if a handful of people give me a chance. So if you're one of them, message me, and I will treat your words with the care that they deserve. I am a writer myself, after all. I know words are precious. I know stories matter. I want to help you tell yours.
Thank you. 💛

Something Kindred
Tumblr media
Something Kindred by Ciera Burch
i went into this book not knowing what to expect, just because i requested the galley so long ago and had forgotten what it was about, which made everything a delightful surprise! it's queer, it's spooky, it's honest and frank, and it's so satisfyingly put together. a compelling read!
one of the highlights for me was how real and deep each character felt, even the ones who didn't actually have much time on the page--and at the same time, Jericka's limited POV was so precisely written that i shared her sense of outsider-ness. the tension between her present, moving back to a tiny town she doesn't remember, and her past there that she's just discovering, was perfectly balanced for me. and what a great combo of deeply reality-based interpersonal problems within Jericka's family, and sad and creepy emotionally-based supernatural happenings introduced by her new friend/crush Kat! i was so delighted when both of these elements started to connect, pulling together throughlines of home versus freedom, and processing trauma and grief through art.
also?? it's very hard to write honest and difficult conversations between people who have deeply hurt each other. i often find them too perfect and astute, or too trite and stereotypical. Burch has found the sweet spot, for me anyway, where each difficult conversation feels real and emotionally charged but also doesn't drag on. characters are honest about their complicated feelings, and nothing is solved perfectly, but it gets better.
(also also...i love ghost stories. i love photography in stories. i love these things together SO MUCH!)
the deets
how i read it: an e-galley from NetGalley, i am racing just ahead of all the pub dates, so many books in the spring!! also this was a fast (but satisfying) read, so i zoomed through it in an evening. looking forward to picking up a physical copy of this one!
try this if you: need more gentle queer Black girl romantic storylines (who doesn't), love multigenerational family stuff, dig haunted small towns, or are into books about loss.
some bits i really liked: so much beautiful imagery!
There are hundreds of thousands of stars in the sky, and it looks like a few dozen have fallen to earth. It takes me a moment to realize they haven't. That these are the lightning bugs she was talking about. They move in unison, flitting this way and that, forming circles of light around each other and around me and Kat. It's the most magical thing I've ever seen. Beyond them is real night. Even with the stars and the lightning bugs glowing their brightest, a person could lose themselves in this darkness. We lie down, facing the sky.
---
A picture of Gram on the couch layered over a shot of a close-up of the schoolhouse. A dull yellow flower exposed over the shadows of the woods. Mom covering up her childhood self, somehow midlaugh in both pictures, years and years apart.
pub date: April 2, 2024!

Your name is Ralph Devlin.
You are 35 years old. You drive a rectangle-like car called a Catty 200. It’s painted orange on the side and blue on the top.
You are something between a man and something known only to you. You live a mundane life out in the quiet parts of the state. You have never understood conventional relationships, and you’ve never been attracted to anyone enough to want to change that. Such a way of life is simply not for you.
You are a hobbyist detective, working for no higher authority other than your own sense of intrigue.
Calls are frequent. Specifics are vague. For the most part, you’ll be phoned out to a client with no further elaboration, just that there’s a problem that needs solving and you’re the one to solve it, no questions asked.
Today’s case has brought you to a town in Manesy, a town like no other in the country. A small yet esteemed town of only 500 invited residents of honor who excel at a handful of particular niches - and they excel so well, they might as well be considered the best in their field, and as recognition for their achievements, have all been packed tight, all here in this very place. Put shortly, you’ve been wheeled out to the so-called ‘best town in the country’ - on a call from none other than the mayor herself. Like many times before, she didn’t give you any deets - only that you should come to her residency for the full picture.
A long drive through shrubbery and tall pine and down through a clearing brings you zooming past the town’s greeting sign.
“Welcome to Plainview,” it reads.

these can be found in the glasses category for yu-eu! all useless ages have been removed, the files are compressorized, and they are 1k polys!
Tumblr media
4t2 luutzi robba earrings
these are also found in the glasses category, yu-eu, 1k polys, useless ages removed, compressorized, etc. just keep in mind that there is a very slight issue where if you zoom in really close you can see they're not quite where they should be on the earlobe (idk how to describe it). but i only discovered this while magnifying the pics from bodyshop so maybe you won't even notice.
Tumblr media
4t2 luutzi perla earrings
same as both above, only these are a bit better positioned. glasses category, yu-eu, 1k polys, etc.

least favorite monster to hunt? give me all the deets I'm interested
hmmm.... Volvidon is a bit of a stinker with his paralysis spit tongue and tendency to just fart on you, rendering you unable to eat or heal iirc, but not too bad overall
Khezu isn't hard, but his constant roaring is a pain because I don't have anything to nullify it (no earplugs skill), so I just keep getting stunned or knocked out of the air (monster roars are so fun as an IG user...) and yeah.
Magnamalo can explode
Nargacuga just zip zooms everywhere and is really annoying, someone dropped a pound of crack in the Flooded Forest
Can't say much about the elder dragons rn, but Velkana is an asshole for being the first elder that i fainted to
Wait I lied, Malzeno beat me to the punch but i like them better anyways
Rajang is fucking SCARY....
uhh. That's all for now

Okay u asked for random-ass questions about your stories and i've got one lol - Ronan said he was talking to a friend about waxing in DC. Adam asks him who the friend was and Ronan never answers... who was this friend that Ronan was talking to about waxing lol omg?
You, Anon, are a Nonnie after my own heart, for zooming in on that Easter Egg. And random-ass questions are my fave kind so ~ hit me baybee etc ~
So ... I had this whole story point in that chapter of In One Piece where Ronan's tattoo in the fic is done by the absolutely stellar Bailey @f0x-meets-w0lf, who is a real-life tattoo and TRC fan artist
Not only is Bailey's style the closest to what I imagine Ronan's tattoo looks like, I also think he and Ronan would've bonded like crazy over the many hours it would've taken them to get that massive $900 (+inflation!) tat done.
And in my HC, Ronan would look them up whenever he's in DC and they're actually friends. And so ofc, in my fic, Ronan asks Bailey where he should get his manscaping done lol.
Thus Adam's incredulous "You were speaking. to a Friend. about WAXing???"
(I can fully understand why you were all OMG about it too, Anon, because does Ronan even have a non-TRC friend lmaoo?)
But... and this is a sad real-life thing ...Bailey fell really sick, just around the time I was posting that last chapter. And though they had kindly given me permission to use their name/real-life identity, I just felt like it was not OK to post my fictional version of them during a time the real-life-him was going thru such a tough time.
I'm thrilled to say Bailey's better now and back to inking amazing masterpieces onto people's bodies.
So I deleted a bunch of paragraphs before I posted my chapter, starting just after the line where Adam asks Ronan why he'd got waxed. Those lines are still floating around my Google Docs, so I might post an outtake someday.
So that's the whole BTS tea on that little deet, Anon.
Thank you for reading not just my lines, but between them. You are the best!
*
P.S: One of my fave Pynch (Very NSFW) fanart pieces is by Bailey; they also write fic and fic-adjacent stuff, and if you're a Dreampack-er you're in for a treat.
Also check out their website, their fanart IG and tattoo IG
(Thanks for being so cool about my request Bailey! Sending you lots of good vibes)

Sending Money Just Got Easier: Ditch the Cash, Embrace the Click!
Gone are the days of digging through wallets or standing forever in bank lines just to send some moolah. Thanks to all the digital jazz, sending money online is quicker, breezier, and open for everyone to dive into. Whether it's shooting a birthday gift over to your cousin in Mumbai or divvying up the tab at a Chennai joint with pals, technologies have your back, buddy!
No more paperwork headaches—just a few clicks and you're on your way. Remember all that fuss with jotting down details and wrestling with forms? Forget about it! Online platforms tossed that time-eating stuff out the window. Now, you can sling money right from your bank account to anyone in India with just a couple of clicks or taps on your screen. No more scribbling info on scraps or decoding those mind-boggling bank statements. Type in the recipient's deets—name, phone number, or bank stuff—and ta-da! Your cash zooms through the digital highways, landing in their account lickety-split.
Speed? Faster than a racing cheetah, my friend. No more dragging along like old-school bank transfers. These online platforms are Usain Bolt Swift. Your money doesn't get stuck in snooze-worthy bureaucratic lines; it zips through super secure digital channels, landing almost instantly in its destination. Picture this: you can send cash pronto to a loved one in a pinch or treat your buddy to dinner across the country right on the spot. These online transfers make real-time connections happen, shrinking distances with the power of tech.
Not everyone's got a fancy bank account, but that's where Domestic Money Transfer (DMT) portals swoop in like financial superheroes. You can find these portals in local shops or mobile recharge spots. Just grab your Aadhaar and phone number, and bam! You're all set to send and receive funds, no bank visits or paperwork required. It's like having a tiny bank right in your pocket.
This online money transfer jazz isn't just about making life easier for folks; it's giving the domestic remittance game a turbo boost. Faster transactions, cheaper fees, and reaching more folks mean these platforms are pulling in more customers by the truckload. It's like building this big ol' world of financial inclusion and growth.
So, next time you need to shuffle money around India, ditch the old ways and jump on the online transfer train. They're quicker, smoother, and locked up tighter than Fort Knox. Remember, with just a few clicks or taps, you're breaking down distances, fortifying relationships, and getting a front-row seat to the magic of instant money connections.

Firebird
Tumblr media
Firebird by Sunmi
i adore the dreaminess of this graphic novel. the two-color art is so loose, and the story is so focused and interior! it's a quiet haven of sweet blushing and communication through uncertainty and blossoming growth. and at the same time, it confronts the loneliness of two Asian teens who feel unheard; the struggles of their immigrant single mothers; the different ways they approach the world and their identities, their bodies, their emotions, even as they're slowly coming together. just lovely!
i felt, particularly powerfully, the critical gaze of Caroline's mother--how her picking at Caroline, at her appearance and her grades and her behavior, could come from a place of wanting a good life for her, even though it was so clearly damaging. watching Caroline begin to push back and discover her own selfhood made me insanely happy! and Kim was just so very charming and good-hearted, going with every flow, occasionally to her detriment but mostly to her benefit. they made a sweet pair.
the deets
how i read it: an e-galley from NetGalley. i actually really appreciated being able to zoom in on this one in a way you can't with a printed page, just to see all the little details of the art!
try this if you: delight in a blushy-crushy and gentle friendship/romance, have feelings about growing up and pushing at boundaries, or ever wanted to wear a suit to a school dance.
a panel i really liked: big mood!!!
