The idea of Edge writing little love notes to Stretch and hiding them all over means so much to me. Sometimes they don’t even have words, sometimes just little doodles, of flowers and birds and hearts, perhaps a bug Stretch told him about, or constellations he’d learned from him.

Sometimes they’re reminders, to eat, drink, take a break, that he loves him, sometimes it’s even a compliment pun. On little pieces of paper torn from a notebook, sticky notes, the back of a business card. Anything. Tucked in one of Stretch’s journals, hidden under a file on his desk, in a pocket of the robe he just put on.

And sometimes Stretch leaves little “payback” doodles in Edge’s notebook or planner, maybe sneaks a note of his own into Edge’s briefcase, or luggage if he’s traveling.

I just feel like they’d find all sorts of little ways to say I love you to each other, even when they’re not in proximity. Edge texting Stretch a photo of a car with a ridiculous paint job he knows he’d love, Stretch changing the furniture/decor up if Edge seems a little more antsy than usual (a change of atmosphere almost always helps), Edge making a pillow fort complete with nest and movies whenever Stretch seems to be feeling down, Stretch making a photo collage of their garden to add to their scrapbooks, little gifts of flowers or pastries or something one mentioned but didn’t need so they hadn’t gotten it yet.

Idk. Unspoken things. Passing thoughts that become reminders shared of how much they care about each other
