River: You mean 'nudes'?
11: No, I'm in a fight. I need more people.

Characters: River Song, Eleventh Doctor, Missy (Doctor Who), Clara Oswin Oswald, Nardole (Doctor Who), Madame Vastra (Doctor Who), Craig Owens
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Royalty, Alternate Universe - Prostitution, river runs an escort service, the doctor is a prince and the ponds are his parents, Fairytale-ish?, slight missy/clara, repost, sort of a twist on Pretty Woman where the woman is older than the guy, and also the guy is a royal, and also other significant changes so i guess it's not really like Pretty Woman at all
Summary:
She looks towards the invitation sitting on her vanity - the one that states ’attendance is mandatory for all unwed maidens’ - and pulls a face. Everyone knows the King and Queen - though well-loved and respected by everyone in the kingdom and far beyond that - had hit a wall in trying to find a consort for their only son and heir to the throne, John. Though the many princesses from faraway lands that have presented themselves were more than suitable for the role of the future King’s wife, rumours have circulated that John has insisted on ruling the kingdom without a woman by his side.

I was re-reading this fic last night on baby River and I LOVE the thought that the reason why baby River broke time was because she wanted to tell him she loved him. Although I don't agree that the Doctor kept away for *that* long and that the Ponds weren't that present in her uni life, I love how the author built up their relationship though. Little adventures which the Doctor insisted weren't dates because their real, actual dates were infinitely better. How she kept on wondering when she'd be the River Song the Doctor spoke so fondly of in Berlin, whether she really will be that River Song. She wanted to tell him she loved him but always held back because it wasn't the 'right time' yet. So when Kovarian and her lackeys once again took her away and bundled her into that spacesuit in the bottom of Lake Silencio, she had to do something because she couldn't let him go like that. So she broke apart time and space. She wasn't going to stop his "death". She just wanted to *finally* tell him that she loved him back.

Feeling sick thinking about all the times in Doctor Who that someone denies the laws of the universe because they loved another person....Rose saving her dad after being warned about what it could do, her dimension jumping to find the Dr again, the Dr throwing himself out of the universe so Amy can have her family back, Amy remembering him (and everyone else) back into existence, River refusing to kill the Dr, 12 refusing to let Clara die...saying this love will destroy the universe time and time again...
