Chapter One: When Under Ether
Tumblr media
1979
The first time Steve Harrington saw you was on a brisk fall night. Brown leaves lifted in small whirlpools down the street as children’s laughter and sugar-induced screams permeated the air. It was Halloween.
Steve wanted to dress up as Robin Hood, his outfit complete with feathered cap and fox tail sitting on his navy-blue bedspread at home, but his friends thought trying was lame now – so he settled for a ripped shirt and a half-assed green face paint job. He wasn’t even sure if he was supposed to be a zombie or Frankenstein’s monster.
He’d done that a lot lately. Changed things about himself that others his age suddenly found uncool or only suitable behaviour for babies. He may not have known as much as the kids that sat up the front of class, but he knew one thing for sure, he didn’t want to be thought of as a baby.
Maybe that’s why he was stood in front of the rotting wooden gate that led up to the house at the end of Maple Street, so far away from the rest of the neighbours that it could only barely be counted. Unless it was to get its own street name entirely, which right now Steve felt like it could, as far away from safety as possible to his small legs.
See, the old Ravenwood house was only spoken about in whispers, its history revealed in rumours perpetuated by ghost story obsessed children for as long as anyone can even remember the house being occupied. And with its peeling paint, overgrown and weed-riddled front yard, and creaking front porch, it was a ripe opportunity for a young boy to prove that he was no scaredy cat on All Hallows’ Eve.
Steve walked up the sunken stone path with his two friends in tow. Tommy, the boy who’d suggested the dare earlier in the night brought up the rear of the small group, knobbly knees knocking together.
Steve was wiping his sweaty palms on his jeans when a flurry of bats, unnative to this part of the world, flew into their path, screeching only slightly higher than the two boys behind him who ran straight back through the front gate. His heart battered against his ribcage as he squeezed his eyes shut, taking a deep breath like his grandma had taught him to when he’d get mad or upset, and when he opened his eyes he saw you.
Watching curiously through the second-floor window, where you sat perched inside, a warm glow framing your small body. Steve thought you looked to be the same age as him, but he’d never seen you before. He smiled that charming Harrington grin he’d been told he possessed, then waved – you, more shyly returned the gesture. Then he’d heard his name called somewhere back beyond the threshold of this strange house, and he’d returned to his friends. Brushing off the ill attempt at machismo with talks of scoring candy.
When Steve’s head hit his pillow that night, veins pumping with sugar, he thought of you. He would never forget about the girl in the window. A beacon of light that dissolved his fears.
***
1986
The second time Steve saw you everything faded away into the background.
He’d been swapping occupational war stories with Robin at the bar in town, the one that didn’t refuse service based on age but based on your likeability according to the bartender. He’d made his way up to the bar through the lively post-work week crowd to order another round when he saw you. Through the far from sober bodies, tucked away on a barstool up against the wall, your hands playing with a sodden beer mat as your eyes wandered, people watching, Steve Harrington swore he saw the face of an angel.
Although time had changed you both, bodies growing up and through awkward stages, arms and chests filling out to be hugged now by the scratchy material of Steve’s striped polo and the soft cotton of your dress, your legs strong enough to bring a grown man to his knees (as far as Steve was concerned), the glint of a thin silver chain on the wrist that supported his big hands enough to capture the attention of almost all the girls in town – Steve had still known. It was you. By looks alone, you may have been a far cry from the little girl in the window, but he knew.
Inexplicably, for he could not cite the hairs on his toned arms raising at the sight of your eyes gazing back at his, or the warm, tight feeling in his chest he’d only ever felt once before as proper methods of identification. But your shy smile and hitched breathing as he drew near only confirmed it for him.
And before he knew it, his lips oh so close to yours, shining after his tongue had poked out to wet them were asking if you wanted to get out of there.
“Yes.”
Robin would later get more than her fair share of making up for his total abandonment of her without so much as a goodbye, but in that moment he couldn’t think of anything else but you.
How he could taste the bitterness of your perfume on your skin when he kissed your bare shoulder, how you sounded when he sucked on the skin under your ear and the vibrations you made together when he swallowed your moans, how you squeezed his hand that held yours beside your head laying on the pillow that wouldn’t be rid of your scent for a week after, and how you kissed him deeply after the seventh time he’d asked if you were still okay, if you still wanted this as much as he did.
When you left him, asleep with kissed lips parted in soft snores and hair mussed, the marks he’d left on your neck and thighs would serve you as a sweet reminder. The scent of sandalwood and vanilla followed you as you snuck back into your house through the back door, the quiet creak masked by the singing cicadas. Your uncle exactly where you'd left him, still sleeping off the extra spoonful of valerian extract and dried chamomile you’d steeped with his tea to buy yourself a little more time out there.
Where magic was forbidden. Where children threw cruel comments and the adults they’d overheard them from ushered them across the other side of the street. Out there where people would never be understanding of you, and boys who could trick you into giving up your power ran rampant.
You’d thought – hoped, dreamed – that maybe on your eighteenth birthday you could get a kiss. A moment of normalcy outside of your life stuck in this house but what you got was so much better.
What you got was imprinted on your skin with the lingering feeling of his lips.
***
1993
The third time you meet Steve, you breathe in your first taste of free air.
Steve had volunteered to take a ride with the EMT to transport a body to the morgue, on an otherwise slow shift at the firehouse. The only other one in town had called in sick and the nearest hospital was a town over.
When the bus turned down Maple Street, Steve immediately felt off. A sense of dread washed over him and only increased when the car continued off the main street and down the dirt road that led to the Ravenwood house. As the vehicle kicked up stones and a cloud of dust in its wake he’d been hit with a sudden wave of déjà vu, remembering dreams that felt as real as memories of walking up this path only to find himself back at the start over and over again.
When the bus finally came to a stop in the driveway Steve barrelled out, running up to the front door in a panic, his raised fist ready to knock it down before it abruptly opened. Exhaling quickly at the site of you, the sinking feeling in his stomach alleviated as he took you in for the first time in years.
You’re dressed for mourning. A soft black dress and scuffed boots, hair pulled back to reveal a bare face that Steve had the sudden urge to kiss.
“H-Hi.” He managed to stammer out a greeting as his colleague finally caught up to him, walking up the creaking steps to your front porch.
“He’s in the bedroom.” You held open the front door, moving aside to let them in. Voice small, smelling of lemon, cedarwood and white musk and Steve had to physically keep himself moving as he brushed past you.
Your uncle laid stiff on a double bed, on top of the covers and dressed in a tattered corduroy suit as if ready for viewing, his body now an empty vessel left only for a ceremonial send-off. A white handkerchief covered his face, a small bundle of dried cypress and sweet cicely perched on his forehead. A breeze from the open window across the room swayed the hem of your skirt as you stared at him.
Steve pointed to the handkerchief, asking you if they could move it but stopped his movements right away when you tensed. His colleague tells you it’ll have to come off during the autopsy and you fold, asking if it can at least go back on afterwards.
“Once we drop him off he’s out of our hands ma’am.”
“I’ll make sure it does,” Steve placates you and you offer him a small nod in thanks. He barely remembers to breathe.
You followed the stretcher out to the bus, a rumbling of thunder catching the two men’s gaze up to the sky when the back doors thud shut. The view was clear when they entered the house, no forecast for rain on this mild summer’s day. Now fat drops began to hit the ground with the rolling in of grey clouds. Steve looked down and noticed a small smile on your face.
You took a deep breath in with eyes softly shut. “I think I’m gonna go for a walk.” You took off down the front path, stopping at the front gate when Steve called after you, asking if you were sure as the rain only intensified.
You just turn and smile at him, waving with a fixed mind. “It’s cleansing.” Only to disappear into the tall grass fields across from your house in a blur of black. Walking away, a free woman.
The front door creaked closed, making Steve’s companion jump.
“Freaky.”
After that day Steve hears of regular sightings of the girl who grew up in that house. Gossip of blooming, bright lavender and bluebells, buzzing bees – life where there once was nothing but rot and death. A fixed white picket fence and carefully laid stone-path that led up to a now bright and welcoming looking house at the end of Maple Street. But this was still a small town and generational rumours took more than a fresh coat of paint to cover up. The witch who lived at the old Ravenwood house was still feared among small minds.
***
The fourth time Steve Harrington saw you he was dropping Robin’s overdue books off at the library on his way to work. Navy blue t-shirt hugging his biceps, tucked neatly into his uniform pants, the stomp of his steel-capped boots muffled by the scratchy charcoal carpet.
Robin had sent him in the hopes that he could get her late fees waived. He’d spritzed an extra spray of his cologne on before leaving their shared apartment, Harrington charm plastered on his face as he prepared to win over an elderly lady who was reminded of her husband when they first met. Only, the person behind the counter wasn’t wearing a blouse with a frilly collar or sporting a purple rinse quaff.
The person who greeted Steve was wearing a well-loved PJ Harvey shirt, with long braids running down her back, flashing a timid smile that ripped through his chest.
“Hi, Steve.”

Swamp Rabbit (Sylvilagus aquaticus)
Family: Rabbit and Hare Family (Leporidae)
IUCN Conservation Status: Least Concern
Native to the southern USA, the Swamp Rabbit differs from related cottontail species in its preference for wet, swampy habitats (primarily swamplands, marshlands and flood plains) and its propensity for swimming: while all rabbits are theoretically capable of swimming, the Swamp Rabbit is the only species that does so regularly (both to cross small bodies of water and to conceal itself from predators.) Primarily solitary, Swamp Rabbits spend much of the day sheltering in small ditches that they dig near water and emerge at night to feed on grasses, shrubs, bark, fruit and seeds, although they may also feed during the day when conditions are particularly rainy. Swamp Rabbits breed during the warmer, wetter months (typically between February and August, although in parts of their range that remain warm and humid in all seasons they may mate year round) and often produce multiple litters (each consisting of 1-6 young, known as kittens) in a single year. Swamp Rabbit kittens are blind and unable to walk at birth, and are raised by their mother in a small burrow lined with fur and grass as they rapidly develop: within just 15 days they are developed enough to live on their own, and at just 7-10 months old they will be fully grown and mature enough to raise kittens of their own. In addition to natural predators such as Bobcats, Coyotes, Grey Foxes, American Alligators and a variety of snakes and birds-of-prey, the Swamp Rabbit is frequently hunted for sport, meat and fur by humans, and it is feared that unsustainable hunting (combined with other factors such as increasingly unpredictable weather patterns in their swampy habitats due to climate change) is causing the population of this species to decline. When threatened and unable to evade or hide from predators on land, Swamp Rabbits will dive into nearby water and attempt to conceal themselves by floating motionless among dense vegetation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
As an interesting, albeit very weird, side note: the Wikipedia article for this species ends by talking about a time in 1979 when a Swamp Rabbit was wrongly accused of trying to attack and/or kill former president Jimmy Carter, which can be read here.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
November 16th - The White Queen
Emma Frost was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to the wealthy Winston and Hazel Frost. Emma had been the third of four children and her father was a cold, ruthless, and domineering parent who imposed impossibly high standards on his children.  Emma’s mother, meanwhile, turned to prescription drugs to cope with the tensions of her household and was largely uninvolved in her children’s lives.
Emma’s Mutant telepathic abilities manifested in early adolescence.  She found that she could read minds and alter the thoughts, attitudes and beliefs of others.  She ultimately used this power to blackmail her father.  Her father was actually impressed by his daughter’s actions and he offered to make her his sole heir to the family fortune.  Emma rejected the offer, left home and decided to make her own way in the world.
Following misadventures on the street, Emma became a student at Empire State University and met the fellow Mutant telepath, Astrid Bloom.  Bloom was more apt at using her psychic abilities and she helped to train Emma to further hone her skills.  Some time thereafter, Emma was invited to the Hellfire Club, an underground elite society.  Whist involved with this society, Frost discovered the plans of Edward Buckman and Steven Lang to destroy all Mutants. Alongside Sebastian Shaw, Lourdes Chantel, and Harry Leland, Emma battled Lang's Sentinels. She killed Buckman and the Council of the Chosen and then, alongside Shaw, took control of the Hellfire Club.  Shaw became the society’s ‘Black King’ and Emma took the role of the ‘White Queen.’
During her time with the Hellfire Club, Frost created the Massachusetts Academy, an educational institute for training young Mutants.  Her best students formed a tactical team known as ‘The Hellions’ who would go on to have multiple run-ins with the New Mutants squad of the Xavier School.  Sadly, many of The Hellions were killed during a confrontation with the time-traveling villain known as Trevor Fitzroy.
Taking time to recover from this terrible loss, Emma ended up aligned with The X-Men in battling the Phalanx.  Emma agreed to help train the young Mutants the Phalanx had targeted and, alongside the X-Man Banshee, she led the Generation X team.  This squad eventually disbanded and Emma relocated to the island haven of Genosha.  Emma taught at a school on Genosha until a genocidal Sentinel attack killed most of the island's inhabitants.  Frost survived due to the sudden manifestation of her secondary mutation: the power to transform herself into a flexible, near-invulnerable, diamond-like substance.
After being rescued, Frost joined the X-Men and took on a teaching position at The Xavier Institute.  She mentored a group of telepathic quintuplets, the Stepford Cuckoos, who quickly became her prized pupils. Frost and the Cuckoos proved themselves when they thwarted the schemes of the villainous Cassandra Nova.
Frost continued on as a member of The X-Men and became lovers with Cyclops.  She would later be possessed by the Phoenix Force during the Avengers versus X-Men event.
More recently, Emma has reclaimed her title as The White Queen, only now as chief executive officer of the Hellfire Trading Company.  This company is responsible for legally exporting the miracle drugs produced on the Mutant nation of Krakoa.  As White Queen, Emma Frost has a seat on the Quiet Council, the ruling body of Krakoa.  In addition, she created the Marauders, a team led by Kitty Pryde and responsible for handling the black market for the miracle drugs, among other concerns.
Emma Frost has appeared in a number of the Fox Films X-Men movies, portrayed by actresses January Jones and Tahyna MacManus.  The villain turned heroine first appeared in the pages of X-men Vol. 1 #129 (1979).

i watched closure and apparently that episode is suppose to tell us what happened to mulder’s sister, but i am just as confused as ever. did the cigarette man take her and she ran away so she’s still missing? did she k*ll herself in the hospital? I do not understand at all
the x files mythology is an absolute disaster but here is my basic understanding of what happened to samantha:
william mulder made a deal with the aliens to give up one child from a member of the shadow government that wanted to repopulate the earth etc whatever. teena mulder could not choose which child to give up so william chose fox to be given to the aliens. csm decided he wanted samantha instead (of course) and that leads us to her abduction.
throughout mulder's search for her there are various samantha clones that he meets and think they are really her, but are not and were an attempt to throw him off his search for what happened etc.
in closure we see that the real samantha died in 1979, after being expiremented on since her abduction. she ran away and was found but wouldn't let anyone touch her, csm and the evil ppl find her again but she is taken by a "spiritial intervention" and disappeared into thin air, essentially dying but not leaving any body behind.
this all happens almost 15 years before we meet mulder and scully in the pilot. in closure mulder finally understands and embraces that samantha has been dead a very long time and this grants him a freedom because she is at peace because she had died a painless death before csm could take her again.

The Cases that Haunt, have Haunted Me For Years.
1.  Elizabeth Short (‘The Black Dahlia’)
“The Black Dahlia” was a nickname given to Elizabeth Short (July 29, 1924 – ca. January 15, 1947), an American woman and the victim of a gruesome and much-publicized murder. She acquired the moniker posthumously by newspapers in the habit of nicknaming crimes they found particularly colorful. Short was found mutilated, her body sliced in half at the waist, on January 15, 1947, in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, California. Short’s unsolved murder has been the source of widespread speculation, leading to many suspects along with several books and film adaptations of the story.
2.  Tara Calico & The Polaroids
Tara Leigh Calico (born February 28, 1969) disappeared near her home in Belen, New Mexico on September 20, 1988.
The Polaroid:
Tumblr media
Is this Tara Calico?
On June 15, 1989, a Polaroid photo of an unidentified young girl and boy, both bound and gagged, was found in the parking lot of a convenience store in Port St. Joe, Florida It was theorized that the girl in the photo was Tara Calico. The Zuni mountains are about 75 miles from where Tara disappeared. Nonetheless, her mother believed the girl in the photo was indeed her daughter due in part to what appeared to be a scar on the girl’s leg, similar to one Tara received in a car accident. However, the FBI was unable to conclusively prove that it was Tara in the photograph.
Two other Polaroid photographs, possibly of Tara, have surfaced over the years, but they have yet to be released to the public.
 3.  Morgan Dana Harrington
Morgan Dana Harrington (July 24, 1989 - October 17, 2009) was a 20-year-old Virginia-Tech student whose disappearance touched off what is believed to be the largest search in Charlottesville, Virginia history.  Although her body was found three months after she went missing from a Metallica concert, her death remains a mystery as no suspects have been named.
4. The Keddie Resort Murders
The Keddie Murders is an unsolved 1981 American quadruple-murder that took place in Keddie, a former resort town in the foothills of Northern California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. The murders took place in cabin 28, during the late evening of April 11, 1981, and/or early morning of the 12th. The victims were Glenna Sharp, known as Sue (aged 36), her daughter Tina (aged 12), her son John (aged 15), and his friend Dana Wingate (aged 17). Tina, the final victim, was missing when the crime was first discovered. Part of her skull was recovered in 1984 in Feather Falls, in Butte County.Sue’s oldest daughter, Sheila, had stayed with next-door neighbors in cabin 29 that night, and discovered the murders the morning of April 12.Sue’s two youngest sons and their friend, who were having a sleep-over at cabin 28 that night, were found, uninjured, in the boys’ bedroom that morning.
5.  The Boy In The Box
The “Boy in the Box” is the name given to an unidentified murder victim, approximately 4 to 6 years old, whose naked, battered body was found in a cardboard box in the Fox Chasesection of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 25, 1957. He is also commonly called “America’s Unknown Child”.
6.  Kara Kopetsky
Kara disappeared from Belton, MO on May 4, 2007.  She was last seen leaving Belton High School.  Kara does not have a car, so she would have either been on foot or someone was there to pick her up.
Kara is 17 years old and would have just finished her junior year in high school.  She is 5’ 5”, with brown hair and hazel eyes.  She is known to change her hair color.
7.  Colonel Philip Shue
Colonel Philip Shue is an Air Force colonel who was killed in a car accident, but his death gives rise to questions and controversy about the bizarre circumstances surrounding the crash when he is found with duck tape around his ankles and wrists and without one of his fingers and both nipples.  Suicide, really?!
8.  Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald
Jeffrey Robert MacDonald (born October 12, 1943), is an American convicted in 1979 for the murders of his pregnant wife and two daughters in February 1970. At the time of the murders, MacDonald was an Army officer, medical doctor and practicing physician. MacDonald maintains that a group of Charles Manson-type hippies committed the crimes and has filed several unsuccessful appeals attempting to overturn his convictions.
9. Regina Kay Walters
This image shows Regina Kay Walters who’s boyfriend was killed by Rhoades before he imprisoned her for a considerable amount of time, torturing and raping her repeatedly. The image shows him having cut her hair short and forced to wear the black dress and heels. Regina was 14 years old at the time.

10.  Jack The Ripper
“Jack the Ripper” is the best-known name given to an unidentified serial killer who was active in the largely impoverished areas in and around the Whitechapel district of London in 1888. The name originated in a letter, written by someone claiming to be the murderer, that was disseminated in the media. The letter is widely believed to have been a hoax, and may have been written by a journalist in a deliberate attempt to heighten interest in the story. Other nicknames used for the killer at the time were “The Whitechapel Murderer” and “Leather Apron”.

Synopsis: Bruce Wayne meets with a reformed Selina Kyle, the Catwoman, who wants to invest money in Wayne Enterprises as part of her efforts of going straight. Giving her a chance, Bruce agrees and after she has left the building, he asks Lucius Fox to investigate the activities and current profile of Miss Kyle. While on Lucius' office, Bruce meets his daughter Tiffany Fox, who runs Wayne Enterprises' ghetto drug-rehabilitation program.
Later, Batman answers the summons of the Bat-Signal and meets with Commissioner Gordon on the crime scene, where they find the frozen body of financier Jacob Riker, a clear work by the master criminal Mister Freeze. At the same time, another millionaire, John McVee, undergoes one of Mr. Freeze's cryogenic treatments, hoping to have his lifespan greatly increased. As Freeze's treatment starts, McVee's body temperature lowers, his aging processes slows, but the end result is not a success. McVee's body survives, but his brain cells remain frozen, turning him into a living zombie, and is thus added to Freeze's servile "Cold Pack", a group of failed experiments commanded by Freeze. The whole purpose of these experimentations is to recreate his own accident in order to repeat the process on his newfound lover, Hildy, who is secretly planning to kill Freeze after he does so.
Batman tracks down Freeze in his headquarters, but is overcome by the Cold Pack and given the freeze-treatment. However, he has ripped out enough power cables beforehand to ensure that he does not get the full-power treatment, but he still pretends to become one of Freeze's failed experiments. Infatuated with Batman, Hildy starts speaking to the "Batman zombie" about her plans to eliminate Freeze and maybe then, she would save Batman. After listening to her confession, Freeze turns against her and Batman stops pretending to be a zombie to confront Freeze. Realizing that the other zombies obey Freeze's command through the helmet of his Cryo-Suit, Batman shatters Freeze's command-helmet and knocks him down, severing the regulating cable of his Ice Gun in the process. Hildy grabs the gun and fires at them, but the weapon backfires and she is encased in solid ice. Batman is finally able to capture Freeze and takes him to the authorities for the crimes he's committed. Elsewhere, S.T.A.R. Labs scientists bury the body of Mark Desmond, thinking they have killed him with a radiation treatment intended to normalize him. However, as they leave the Gotham Cemetery, huge hands break the surface of the grave.

Wendy Chammel Naral is a woman who lives in the city of Atenesia. She was a child actress in her youth and is currently a dancer and performer. She is the mother to daughter Amanda, love interest and later wife to Pietra, stepmother to Marli, stepgrandmother to Flikin and the future Swordfish Queen.
History
Wendy was born in the city of Atenesia in 1971. Since she was little, Wendy was a very shy and adorable girl who liked to read, play and look at swordfish. From a very young age, Wendy showed interest in acting, which led her to make her debut in 1979 at the age of 8, initially appearing in commercials before getting her breakout role in the Salacian adaption of Combo Rangers, helmed by series creator Ryujitaro Saitan, as Lisa Lima, the Yellow Combo Ranger.
Wendy loved being on Combo Rangers even though wasn’t very amicable with the rest of the cast; Kenjy Shi-Label (Kenji/Blue Combo Ranger) didn’t talk with anyone much as he was very reserved; Freddy J. Fox (Fox/Red Combo Ranger) and Federico do Roseiras (Kiko/Green Combo Ranger) treated her like a nerd; and Teresa Cherrouse (Tati/Pink Combo Ranger) was always rude to her and made her feel insecure.
It was also around this time that Wendy began going through puberty, earlier than any average Salacian female. As her voice and appearance changed, the production team realised that Wendy no longer reflected her initial appearance. For the fourth season, Combo Rangers Zero, Lisa became the team’s tech support and her place as the Yellow Combo Ranger was given to the character of Maya Cooper. However, later on, as others noticed Wendy’s attraction to other girls, the crew harassed her to the point that she decided to leave the series. Unfortunately, Wendy found herself being typecast as she was unable to take off her career as an actress.
Over the years, Wendy’s body began to mature, giving her a beautiful figure and slender appearance. Eventually, in 1993 at the age of 22, she managed to get her own children’s program for which she made her own swordfish costume. The program was produced by legendary child actor Marshall Hellander, who told Wendy that she would play a tender and adorable girl, but her appearance and skimpy outfit brought complaints from parents. On top of that, Marshall stalked and sexually harassed Wendy, threatening to fire her and cancel her show if she sued him. Wendy went so far as to sleep with Marshall to keep her show on the air, but when she fell pregnant and refused to get an abortion, Marshall fired her and cancelled her show. Luckily, Wendy had enough money to get her through her pregnancy.
Tumblr media
After the birth of her daughter, Amanda, Wendy went back to being an entertainer, performing in carnivals and parties. One day, she received a call from Swordfish Queen Pietra, recognising her as the actress who played her daughter’s favourite character and wanting to hire her for her 8th birthday party. Wendy accepted and went to the Swordfish Palace with her team, but Pietra was shocked by her appearance and tried to ask her to leave. Marli liked her, however, so Pietra relented and let Wendy perform.
A year later, Wendy met Marli again, this time accompanied by a little baby she had never seen before. Marli recognised her too and they became close friends. Marli also introduced Wendy to Miss Marla so she could have another royal friend. After Marcos’ crimes and mistreatment against Marli and Pietra were discovered (leading him to be exiled from the Swordfish Kingdom as a result), Wendy felt sympathy for Marli and visited her more often.
Gradually, Pietra began feeling attracted to Wendy, admiring how beautiful she was and realising that she was hiding her feelings for her for some time. One day, they managed to be alone in the Swordfish Palace when Marli had to go out just as Wendy came to visit. As they interacted, Pietra and Wendy realised that they had a lot in common and they confessed to each other. The two later came out to the other kings and queens and Wendy would become the Swordfish Queen (alongside Pietra) and live in the Swordfish Palace with Amanda, finally getting the happiness she always wanted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personality
Wendy is a nice, optimistic and happy woman with a good heart who is almost never seen upset, at least on the outside. She may seem fun and exotic, but while her shy and quiet self shines through sometimes, she is eventually able to open up her true feelings. Many consider Wendy an extremely attractive woman and although she is aware of this, she is quite modest with her figure and doesn’t boast about it to others.
After giving birth to Amanda, Wendy began to doubt that she was capable of continuing as a children’s entertainer, though she regained her confidence after some time as a carnival dancer. Being a mother, she knows how to deal with children and entertain them, becoming a maternal figure to many boys and girls. She also likes company, which is ironic since throughout her life, she did not have many real friends who weren’t coworkers.
Appearance
Age 9-11: Wendy was a thin looking girl of short stature. Like most children, her head was large and round and her brown hair reached below her shoulders in curls with darker brown touches. She also had a small nose, emerald blue eyes and wears round glasses. Her most iconic piece of clothing that she wore as a child was a short sleeveless yellow shirt that showed her midriff, an explorer’s vest, brown shorts, a black belt and brown shoes with white socks. As she went through puberty, her body became more curvaceous which made her clothes become tighter and revealed too much of her body.
Age 12-19: During her adolescence, her body continued to change as she grew up. Her legs accumulated fat even though she was very athletic and her hair gradually became orange over time which she tied into a ponytail.
Age 20-36: Her body became completely developed in her 20s, becoming a voluptuous woman with a thick waist and legs along with a thin stomach and torso. Her hair is light orange with blonde touches and a lock of grey hair. She wears a beige sleeveless blouse that leaves her stomach exposed, tight shorts in a light brown colour, green and pink bracelets on her arms and brown sandals.
When she was the presenter of her children’s program, she wore a self-made costume with a green, yellow and light brown bikini, gold bracelets, a gold necklace with three blue jewels, golden heart-shaped earrings, dark green sandals with ribbons on her legs and a swordfish ornament as a festive crown. She would continue wearing this costume when she worked as an entertainer.
Relationships
With the cast of Combo Rangers: Much of her relationship with the cast of the show has already been detailed in her history. She never had any contact with the cast after leaving the series, though she looks back on her time as the Yellow Combo Ranger fondly. In 2010, she enjoyed watching the 30th anniversary special, Once & Always: Combo Rangers Forever, even though it was widely panned by fans and critics.
Pietra: Wendy and Pietra met by accident when the latter hired the former to perform at Marli’s 8th birthday. Later on, they would get to know each other and eventually become a couple.
Marli: Wendy gets along quite well with Marli, sympathising with her situation after Marcos’ exile.
Curiosities
- Her design is influenced from certain dancers and presenters on children’s shows in Brazil and Latin America (most notably Xuxa) who unconsciously look attractive as they tend to wear revealing clothing.
- If Wendy lived on Dryland, she would be a woman of Brazilian ethnicity.
- Her child design uses that of “Combo Ranger Lisa” from The Pirates. This episode would not be canon in the Liamverse and those children would be the child actors on the Salacian Combo Rangers adaptation.
- Wendy’s experiences on set were based on those of David Yost, who played Billy, the original Blue Power Ranger. David Yost revealed years after leaving Power Rangers that he left due to harassment from the crew over his sexuality.

Pony Car Revolution: Mike Savage of New Canaan Unveils the Storied History of the Ford Mustang Muscle Car
The History of the Ford Mustang Muscle Car  - Mike Savage of New Canaan
The Ford Mustang, a symbol of American muscle and a pioneer in the pony car category, has etched an indelible mark on the automotive landscape since its inception in the 1960s. Mike Savage, an avid car enthusiast from New Canaan, provides a compelling journey through time, unveiling the rich and storied history of the Ford Mustang muscle car—a vehicle that transcends mere transportation and has become a cultural icon.
Birth of the Pony Car: 1964-1966
The story begins in 1964 when Ford unleashed the Mustang onto the automotive stage. "The Mustang wasn't just a car; it was a revolution," Mike Savage remarks. Introduced as a compact, affordable, and stylish sporty car, the Mustang ignited a new era of performance and personalization. "The 1965 model, often referred to as the '1964½' Mustang, was an instant hit, capturing the hearts of Americans and becoming a cultural phenomenon," Savage adds.
The Mustang's success can be attributed to its combination of sporty aesthetics, affordability, and a wide range of options for customization. It catered to a diverse audience, from young drivers seeking a stylish ride to performance enthusiasts yearning for a capable machine.
Performance Pinnacle: Shelby Collaboration and GT Models
In the mid-1960s, Ford joined forces with Carroll Shelby, a legendary figure in the automotive world, to create high-performance variants of the Mustang. Mike Savage highlights, "The Shelby GT350, introduced in 1965, elevated the Mustang's performance credentials with a modified V8 engine, upgraded suspension, and distinctive styling cues." The Shelby Mustangs would go on to become coveted classics, embodying the marriage of speed and style.
Simultaneously, Ford introduced GT models, including the GT350 and GT500, solidifying the Mustang's reputation as a legitimate muscle car. These models featured powerful engines, racing stripes, and aggressive design elements, signaling the Mustang's commitment to both performance on the track and bold aesthetics on the street.
Mach 1 and Boss Era: 1969-1971
As the 1960s gave way to the '70s, the Mustang continued its evolution with the introduction of the Mach 1 and Boss models. "The Mach 1, with its aggressive styling and powerful engine options, became an icon of the era," Savage notes. "Meanwhile, the Boss 302 and Boss 429 models were designed for racing, pushing the envelope of Mustang's performance capabilities."
These models represented Ford's commitment to dominating the tracks, with features such as distinctive hoods, spoilers, and high-revving engines. The Boss Mustangs left an enduring legacy, showcasing Ford's prowess in the world of muscle cars.
Challenges and Transformations: 1974-1993
The 1970s brought challenges for the automotive industry, including increased emissions regulations and oil crises. Mike Savage reflects on this period, stating, "The Mustang, like many other muscle cars, faced a period of transformation to adapt to changing times." The Mustang underwent changes in design, size, and performance to align with new regulations and consumer preferences.
However, the spirit of the Mustang endured, and Ford introduced the third-generation Mustang in 1979. Known as the "Fox Body" Mustang, it featured a more aerodynamic design and a focus on handling, setting the stage for the performance renaissance of the 1980s.
Performance Renaissance: 1994-2004
The early 1990s witnessed the resurgence of the Mustang's performance capabilities. "In 1994, the fourth-generation Mustang was introduced, embracing a retro-inspired design that paid homage to the classic Mustangs of the past," Savage highlights. "It was a rebirth of the Mustang's performance DNA, with a renewed emphasis on power and handling."
During this era, Ford introduced high-performance variants, including the SVT Cobra, showcasing the Mustang's ability to blend nostalgia with modern performance technology. The SVT Cobra boasted a powerful V8 engine and advanced suspension systems, capturing the attention of enthusiasts.
The New Millennium: Sleek Designs and Shelby Resurgence
Entering the new millennium, the Mustang continued to evolve with sleek designs and a nod to its heritage. "The fifth-generation Mustang, introduced in 2005, embraced a more modern and bold design while paying homage to the classic Mustang styling cues," Savage notes. "It was a time of renewed enthusiasm for the Mustang, with a focus on both aesthetics and performance."
The collaboration with Carroll Shelby saw a resurgence with the introduction of the Shelby GT500 in 2007, featuring a supercharged V8 engine that delivered unparalleled power and performance. The Shelby Mustangs of this era rekindled the excitement of the original Shelby models, becoming symbols of modern muscle prowess.
Sixth Generation and Beyond: Modern Muscle Icons
The introduction of the sixth-generation Mustang in 2015 marked a blend of contemporary design and cutting-edge technology. "The Mustang continued to evolve, incorporating advanced features while staying true to its performance roots," Savage observes. "Models like the Shelby GT350R showcased Ford's commitment to creating track-capable machines."
As the Mustang enters the present day, it stands as a modern muscle icon with a diverse lineup, including the powerful Shelby GT500. "The Mustang has not just survived; it has thrived, adapting to changing times while retaining its core identity as a symbol of American muscle and performance," Savage concludes.
Mike Savage's Connection to the Mustang Legacy
In reflecting on the Mustang's history, Mike Savage shares his personal connection to the iconic muscle car. "The Mustang has been a constant presence in my collection," he reveals. "Each model, from the classic variants of the '60s to the modern Shelby Mustangs, holds a special place in my garage. The Mustang's journey mirrors the evolution of American muscle, and it continues to inspire enthusiasts like me who appreciate the marriage of performance and style."

Post 2- Brand
The first Mustang was marketed as a 1965 model, introduced on April 17th, 1964 for $2,368. In just 4 months, Ford completed 120,000 sales for the Mustang. Convertible and notchback body styles became available as late ‘65 models. Along with this, the original engine also changed which brought sales for the Mustang up to one million by March 1st, 1966. It wasn’t until 1967 that the Mustang had its first major changes including growing in size to be able to incorporate a big-block engine. From there, it kept getting larger in 1969 adding 3.8 inches in length and half an inch in width. The Mach and the Boss homologation models were also introduced at this time. By 1970, Ford struggled in achieving marketing orientation since sales got to as low as below 200,000 after they remodeled the ‘70s to look “less aggressive”. As more emission rules changed in America, sales slowed down for muscle cars, and the choices for engines were very limited. Over the multiple years of changes and enlargement in size, the Mustang accumulated a weight of 3,600 pounds in 1973. The ‘64 model weighed 2585 pounds which means that in 9 years, the Mustang gained over 1,000 pounds. 1974 was the year that Ford had really strived in customer satisfaction by addressing their concerns of the Mustang getting too big. The year prior, the Mustang II was introduced, offering a 140-cid four-cylinder engine and a 171-cid V-6 engine. This car was marketed as an upscale economy car since it was the year of the oil embargo, which quadrupled the price of an oil barrel. This led the Mustang II to win the MotorTrends 1964 Car of the Year Award. Following the Mustang’s big year, sales stayed at 200,000 per year from 1975 to 1978. The Fox body made its first appearance in 1979, and stayed until 1993. The new Mustang had a 4.9 V-8 but called 5.0. This is when Mustang cop cars were introduced reaching up to 140mph. In 1987 also using the Fox body, Ford’s aero-themed style took off in two types of engines and models, LX and GT. Sales started to decrease after 1989, but Ford released the ‘93 SVT Cobra with a different style from the GT that came before it. This is when A/C, powered tools, stereos and back seats were added to Mustangs. The SN95 Mustang is the 4th generation of the Ford Mustang, this body style was introduced in 1994 and continued until 1998. The body style changed to the New Edge in 1999, keeping everything in the engine the same and only switching some outside details such as the headlights, taillights, side vents, and badges. After the New Edge came the 2005-2014 Mustang that had a squared front, just like the first generation, and was the first without the Fox body in 25 years. It is a V-8 4.6 liter and reaches up to 300 horsepower. From 2015 to now, we have the S550 Mustang which ranges from 5.0-5.2 liter and is a V-8.
