GUYS an important development just happened in MCYT art history.

I don’t know everything about this, but let me brief you on the news so far.

Yesterday at 3PM UTC, @bedrock-to-buildheight (a popular MCYT artist) made a post where they drew modern MCYTubers from 2019-2020 in a style reminiscient of older MCYT artists from 2013.

One of the main styles they tried to replicate was that of “crowmulent”, a supposed MCYT artist that drew a lot of Team Crafted art and the such on DeviantArt back in 2013 and 2014.

Immediately after this post, a lot of people felt a whole lotta emotions. After all, nobody was expecting to see an artstyle today that they saw all the time when they were 10.

But then. BUT THEN. CROWMULENT CAME BACK!!!!!

It turns out that what had happened was a friend of crowmulent on Tumblr saw the post and told crowmulent! Crowmulent still liked MCYT, in fact they stanned Technoblade, but had not drawn in their old artstyle in a long time. They were even surprised that people still remembered them for this!

Crowmulent indeed came back! They found that they had deleted whatever old Tumblr account they had in 2016, and made a new one. And at 10:30 AM UTC today, they made a post to their new blog in which they had drawn new MCYT art in their old artstyle! By the real crowmulent! Their new Tumblr account is @crowmulent.

Honestly all your original MC worldbuilding and art and that fic you posted... you’re gonna drag me right back into the fandom side of Minecraft, aren’t you?

The canonization post in particular sparked that creative fire in my mind, especially seeing Deadlox. Now, I may not have artistic talent, so I’m just gonna describe an art piece that wove a tapestry of emotion in my mind.

A long picture, with three distinct points on it.

-On our left, a cliff, with caverns showing historical moments of MCYT history, pre-Renaissance (Ex, The Lab, Cops and Robbers, The Lovely World). Atop the cliff are many people. Some of these include the following: An orange cat and a blue squid, arm in arm (Stampy and Squid). A Ninja, and a Mario-like figure (classic Etho and Seth). A mish-mashed group of individuals, led by a man with a golden necklace (Team Crafted, Sky). And many more.

-In the center, a long bridge, with people crossing over it. The bridge is a gradient of sorts, constructed of things like cobble and wood to begin with, transferring to terracotta and prismarine, ending with crimson and warped woods. Crossing it, we see some familiar faces as well. A purple-garbed woman with specters of various beings around her (classic Aphmau), dissolving into a younger-seeming form. A man with a minecart tucked under his shoulder and goggles on his head, his hair dissolving from brown to blue (DanTDM). A man carrying books, weighing him down as his amulet—matching the one of the man on the hill—gleams (AntVenom). Leading them, and many others with them, is a king in red and black, crown glimmering in a sunset (CaptainSparklez).

-On our right, a strange new world of people, on a hodgepodge of a landscape. There are hundreds of them, perhaps thousands. A man in green, with a white mask (Dream). A devilish man with ram horns, stroking a small coin (JSchlatt). A mustachioed being sitting on a piston (Mumbo).

Beneath it all is a banner, not a Minecraft one, but traditional. Slathered across it in the title screen font, is a simple phrase. “Thank you for building bridges to the future.”
