The Divorce Process - From a Financial Perspective
Thinking about getting a divorce?

2 – Gather Your Financial Documents
Make sure you have your financial documents in order before your first appointment with your attorney. You’ll need to complete a financial affidavit.
3 – Initiate the Divorce – File the Petition
The Petition for Dissolution of Marriage is the first document to file with the court clerk to start the divorce case.
4 – Know the Divorce Process
Discovery, custody evaluation, pretrial conference or mediation, trial, the decree of dissolution.
5 – Separate Marital Assets and Personal Property
Make equitable distribution of marital assets and debts, with the goal of fair distribution.
6 – Evaluate the Assets for the Divorce
Determine pre-marital assets. Move forward to current assets. Obtain appraisals by qualified third party if needed.
7 – Divvy Up the Debts
Know the two forms of debt: living expenses and community property, and how your state distributes the debts.
8 – Know the Impact the Divorce Has on Taxes
Initially, check the difference of tax rates, lost deduction and tax credits of filing separately verses jointly. Take advantage of any tax savings.
9 – Understand Tax Preparation Timing During and After the Divorce
Be aware of two important tax dates: the date the divorce petition was filed and December 31 of each year.
10 – Learn Your Rights in Florida Regarding Real Estate and Divorce
In Florida, “the marital home” is the piece of real estate property where your and your spouse spent most of your life together.

I have been tempted to write a vampire au so we’ll just do basics
Please ask questions if you have them
So this is still modern times but anyway
Tatiana:
She’s been around the longest, like easily a couple hundred years
she’s pretty strict on the rules just so they won’t be discovered as vampires by hunters
Still has her in game powers, though they came with her turning
The vampire who turned her did not stick around, as they didn’t mean to turn her
Basically they try to drain her and she thought back by biting down on the arm not thinking about it
And she wound up waking up the next night a vampire (they were inside so it was safe)
Djss:
He add neon J are pretty close in age, probably about 100 years or so
Djss was turned by a vampire that was hunted down by hunters
There is no real connection between the two, the vampire simply found djss interesting enough to turn them
Like tatiana, his power surfaced after his turning
Neon J:
He was fighting in a war when the troop he was with was ambushed
He was left to die (with everyone else already dead) and was barely clinging to life when a vampire found him
It offered him a chance to live, to avenge his fallen comrades
Neon, not knowing he was talking to vampire, assumed the person was talking about healing him
So he accepted only to be turned
He’s a heavily scarred vampire

Beon j turned them to save their lives, but did warn them what it would mean
Zim: got into a fight that left him with a fatal stab wound
Eloni: abusive work place, being worked to death
Accident when was alone had him crushed under heavy material
Purl-hew: fell from a tall building, no one was around
Haym: very sick, dying
Rin: a serial killer at the time attempted murder on him, wounds were fatal
Team sayu and sayu:
About 50 years old
The team were all turned at the same time, by a vamp trying to build an army to fight hunters with
But after a while being stuck with him sayu managed to get them out of there while he was being killed by a hunter
Sayu had also been turned by this guy, and she was the one who tipped off the hunters to where he was
(For those who don’t know typically on the vampire turn someone they are bound to that vampire (in Tatiana‘s case he didn’t want her bound to him so she wasn’t))
Yinu’s mother and yinu:
About 90 years old
She was a happy wife with her husband and yinu was on her way
But there had been a vampire hunting through the town and it had bitten her
The husband was able to stake the vampire, only to find his wife dying
In desperation to save their daughter, she took some blood off of the stake he used to kill the vampire so she would become one
Yinu was born about a week later, but due to the circumstances was born half vampire (it is likely one of the few if not only child that was born partially vampire)
(Vampires cannot give birth)
Thing was it was noticeable that she wasn’t fully human, same with the mother, and the woman who helped her give birth ratted them out to the village
They tried to escape the mob, and while trying to hold them back, the husband was killed
Eve:
About 60 years old
A vampire tried to claim her as his bride and she was stuck with him for 10 years as she was bound to him
She would eventually spend her years trying to gain his trust in get him to let his guard down around her
When he finally did she would stake him through the heart
She would spend years wandering not really interacting with people unless she had to and so on
What happened with Zuke would leave her broken hearted for 6 years
And after those 6 years she would meet someone else
Zuke:
Not turned
He lived with west for a while, just living life
Zuke met eve and she found him to be a kindred spirit and that she could spend the rest of her immortal life with
So they dated for a while
then she revealed but she really was and offered to turn him as well, but handled it poorly and assumed he wanted it
He fled and got to a new city where he felt safe
6 years passed and in that time he met Mayday
Mayday:
Turned recently, still only 21
She came from a rather high class and rich family
As such her family were classist snobs who expected her to marry someone of high status and to take over the family business
So her parents had an arranged marriage set up
She hated it but felt stuck cause she’s never been able to get her parents to take no for an answer
(Since this is modern times her parents don’t have anything against her dating a woman, they just found this man to be the best match due to his status and well)
She’s tried it before and it always ended with them going ahead and doing what they wanted
Then she made friends with zuke, and later on, a very pretty lady
They helped keep her from a breakdown from all the expectations put on her and the upcoming wedding
And slowly but surely she began to fall in love with the woman
Of course she knew her parents wouldn’t allow it
She did confess to the woman and even told her that she wish she could leave with her but she was bound by her “parents’ law”
The night before her wedding, The woman visited her house via her window
After being invited in she revealed herself to be a vampire and offered to take mayday away from here as well as eternal life
May accepted, wanting A life with much more freedom
No one has been able to find her since that night
After May’s disappearance, zuke looked every where for her
And when he heard that she was last seen with a woman who really matched Nadia’s description, he panicked
He realized what had happened, but assumed it was forced on her
So he set out to try and find a cure for them
Bonus stuff
Dk west also knows Nadia is a vampire, and has multiple times tried to get her to turn him
He never succeeded, and part of him blames Zuke for it
The vampires have built a home in Vinyl city
It’s home to all sorts of mythical creatures, as well as some humans that are more friendly with the monsters
But it’s mostly monsters
Yinu due to her status does age but does so very slowly
She will be fully turned when she’s an adult, just matched her is almost like that fledgling status where until she feeds for the first time, she will only be partial vampire
1010 are in their 20’s
There will be an eventual ship between zuke and rin, but only after he stops trying with his cure nonsense
And after there’s some reconciliation between him and Nadia

“Should we really be doing this?” Kate asked for what must have been the twelfth time that day alone. Anthony couldn’t see her from his dressing room, but he knew the exact expression she was making: eyebrows pinched together, bottom lip between her teeth, and probably hands cupping her stomach to boot. Fifteen years of marriage had taught him that much.
They were attending Simon and Daphne’s ball tonight, an invitation that they’d accepted before realizing that Kate was pregnant. For the fourth time. At thirty-seven.
Anthony, unlike the doctor, was uncharacteristically unconcerned. His mother had Hyacinth at thirty-seven and, other than his father’s death and the breech birth, had had a relatively smooth and normal pregnancy. There was no reason to think Kate’s wouldn’t be any different.
But now that she was starting to show, Kate was uncharacteristically reticent to venture out in public. Anthony was usually all for skipping an event, but this one was different; Daphne and Simon were family. It would be poor form, and tip off everyone that something was afoot with the Viscount and Viscountess Bridgerton. With Lady Whistledown’s pen firmly down, this would be the first child they could announce on their own terms—not that he begrudged Penelope, but, still—and really, Kate wasn’t that obvious yet. He expected only their family, who knew, would truly be able to tell.
“Lucy will be there and she is much more pregnant than you are,” he called back to her as his valet helped him shrug on his jacket.
“Lucy is barely twenty-two years old, carrying her second child, and looks like she’s merely shoved a pillow under her dress,” she retorted. “I do not.”
His valet, having known him all these years, didn’t even bother to pick up the brush and let Anthony cross the room and re-enter the viscount’s room proper, where Kate was dressing. Her lady’s maid stood off to the side, ostensibly sorting through Kate’s jewelry spread across the dressing table, allowing him to walk directly up to Kate and wrap his arms around her waist.
“I think you’re beautiful. And you know how much I love these,” he whispered in her ear. She swatted his hand away before it could cup her (much fuller) breasts, but he could see the corners of her mouth twitching upwards. “You know that if you really don’t want to go, we don’t have to.”
“But I do want to see Lucy and Gregory before she goes into confinement. And I want to speak with your mother. And it’s Hyacinth’s first ball since having Isabella…” she sighed, resting her head on Anthony’s shoulder. “I know I’m not twenty-one anymore. And I’ve had three children, so of course I will show earlier and carry more weight and all the rest but… it’s hard.”
“I know, my dear.”
“And I don’t want anyone to whisper about us. I know it’s ‘unfashionable’ to have children at my age—”
“How do you think I feel? I’ll be nearing seventy by the time she comes out.” He shuddered and she laughed brightly.
“I’ll hold you up,” she teased.

“We can’t be rude, Anthony.”
“How many of our balls have Simon and Daphne left scandalously early?”
Kate snorted, all the answer he needed.
“Go read Charlotte the story you promised her. I’ll be ready soon.”
“Thank you,” he murmured before pressing a kiss to the shell of her ear. She smiled at him in the mirror, but it didn’t look strained, which he counted as a victory.
Charlotte, with her mother’s identical smile, managed to get a second story out of him, even though Kate had entered the doorway just as he finished the first. She didn’t say anything, but he caught her eye over Charlotte’s head as he turned the page and she looked so content, one thumb running circles over her stomach.
When the second came to an end, he pressed a kiss to Charlotte’s forehead and whispered that he loved her. She told him the same and his heart felt fit to burst.
“Mama! You look beautiful!” Charlotte said with her gaze now focused on Kate. She stepped further into the light and Anthony swallowed. Her dress was a midnight blue with gold detailing and short puffed sleeves and she wore the gold Bridgerton tiara over her updo and long gold earrings. She was gorgeous, and he was already dreaming of when he could take that dress off of her. Had she foregone her chemise, what with the baby? It would certainly save him some time...
“Thank you, darling. May I steal your papa away now?”
“Yes, my lady,” Charlotte replied, lisping on the ‘s’ thanks to the gap between her teeth.
“Why thank you, Miss Bridgerton.” She leaned over to kiss Charlotte on the forehead herself and Anthony pushed himself out of the bed so that he could offer her his arm. She took it, blew one last kiss to Charlotte, and then they made their way down the stairs and into the carriage.
“Did you know that we make rather wonderful children?”
“I had a feeling.” He stepped into the carriage before her so that he could help her in. “I am excited, you know. To have another one.”
“Me too. And she’ll be as beautiful as her mother.”

Harry was up all night, that’s how it’s been the last few days he couldn’t sleep without Y/N by his side. Harry knows that he did this to himself from pulling away from his former wife, when he began to struggle with his own personal demons. Harry finally sat up as he saw the light coming through the blinds of his home, he looked at his phone for a moment just hoping to get even the smallest text from his former lover but it was sadly nothing. Harry finally decided that he needed to take control of this situation, he needed his feelings to be out there and for Y/N to understand what he truly felt.
This gave Harry the amazing idea, he was going to mix a romantic gesture with him pouring out his heart. This was going to start with Harry writing an emotional letter for the woman that he loved before words, he then ordered 50 roses and sent them to Y/N home after he checked with a couple of friends that she still lived there. This of course was Harry’s favorite thing that he’s done for a little while and he was beyond excited about finally having some control.
Y/N and Harry have been talking every night since Y/N reached out, making sure her ex husband was okay. She never wanted to put him in a bad place, but she knew that it was for the better that they split up even if the divorce was rough enough on both of them. Y/N was shocked when she woke up to his friend calling her from downstairs, the woman rushed down the stairs in fear of something much more horrible. Y/N covered her mouth as she looked around at the 50 dozen roses that filled her living room and dining room.
Roger looked at his best friend before saying “Girl he wants you back so bad” Y/N looked around just as shocked before grabbing a letter that was kept separate from the roses which made her smile seeing Harry’s handwriting “I’ll read these to you just because you are here” The woman admitted before her best friend nodded as he watched her open the letter “Okay here we go” the woman said shaking her head as she began reading.
“I know that you told me not to write this and normally I would listen but I can’t help it, I saw this post that I made for you that was written like a year ago I think and it was crazy because you don’t think you could ever add to a post like that. I could though, it was talking about how you make me feel all of these things! I wasn’t sure how it was possible to add more but once I actually sat down and began thinking about how I could it was easy as hell. I’ll show you the post so you know which one I’m talking about.” The woman’s eyes were already filling with tears as she began to read the post Harry wrote for her on her birthday last year.
“My Love,
As I am writing, I have a million thoughts running through my mind. This letter is meant to be a testament to the feelings I feel for you – you are the one person that can put a smile on my face, even on those days when I am feeling down. You are the reason I am able to lay in bed and fall asleep peacefully. Looking at it, you have offered me new opportunities that no other person would be able to offer me. As you lay next to me in bed sleeping, I lay there and wonder what I did to get so lucky in my life.
You are the one that has reached out and showed me the true meaning of what it feels like to be in peace. There is no other person in this world that could have done that for me. It amazes me that someone with such outer beauty as so much inside her as well. I feel like I am floating when I am with you. My days get brighter when I am with you. “I wrote that on 10/23 that was literally 3 days after you and I got together. That was the day I meant the love of my life and the woman would become the mother of my children, I told you last night but let me rephrase so everyone can see it.
I may not show all the time and that’s because I’m shitty at human emotions but you are the most important person to me. When I’m down you bring me up without realizing you are. When I’m beyond crazy you manage to bring me back down to earth I didn’t wanna tell you because it goes back to the whole “what the fuck does this beautiful ass woman see in me like?” And that goes back to the whole I don’t think I’m worthy of love but you truly make me like I’m worthy even though I fuck up nonstop you still manage to love me even when I’m stupid as shit.” Roger stooped as he began to run his hand up and down his friend’s back “He is quite the words man” this caused them both to chuckle as her friend went on

Y/N from all the adventures we go on from fucking around and getting hitched in Vegas, to getting married in Paris or maybe me trying to drown you bora bora. That is still not confirmed, I’m only joking but I don’t feel like there are enough words to describe our relationship hell our marriage. Happy birthday to the love of my life, you still manage to keep on my toes but I think that’s because of how amazing you.” Roger gasped “that’s what he wrote for your birthday? I can barely get laid from mine” Y/N laughed as she ran her hand over where her ring used to see as she took the paper and read the last paragraph
“I found that post still saved in my phone and if I’m honest it started off a long list of things that I miss about you and I’ll break that down one by one so give me a minute haha, I’m going to call this the 50 reasons why I love you and the reason why I think we should try just once more and If it doesn’t work then that’s fine and the reason it’s fine is that we have such an amazing friendship that I don’t ever wanna lose. You give me hope even when I am hopeless. I can use all of those typical relationship quotes and for once I understand why they are like that. Okay fine I’ll get one with my list haha.”
Y/N brain finally connected the dots as she looked around at all of the roses “They are in order from number 50” the woman shook her head as she looked at the roses once more, this was going to be a long night. Y/N quickly got started as she picked up the number 50
“50.) I like the way you look at me.
I don’t know it’s possible but when you look at me, I feel this flutter in my chest telling me that I just saw the most beautiful woman look at me. I am also in a position where your eyes tell me so much more than you ever want to let one.” Y/N smiled sweetly as she kept going on

I don’t think I could tell you what you are actually doing when you start the process but I can tell you that I love how you almost become instantly relaxed when you start it and I love seeing that. I know that it would be easier to go and talk to Matthew and fall in love with him and that He won’t give you half as many headaches as I did. Hell he probably won't give nearly as much heart break either. He would be the easier option and I would understand completely if you did it now I know he's not a guy you were talking to but he was just an example. I know that I am not perfect, hell I am far from it. I know that at points our relationship was toxic and I am still so sorry for every time that I made our relationship toxic in some way.”

Hell you can tell me no right now and that we will never happen again and I will tell you okay but only if I can still be in your life because that’s all i truly want. If I can’t have you then it would still be an honor to be your friend.”
Y/N looked at her phone in her hand before she grabbed her phone and quickly dialed her ex husband’s number “Y/N” the sound of the man’s voice made her breath stop as she looked at the roses in front of her “Harry, These roses and the letters” Harry just laughed a little “It was over kill huh?” Y/N quickly smiled “No! I loved them but Harry. My heart’s heavy— which I don’t know is a good thing or not. All these things you’ve said about me, these 50 reasons why you love me, it really touched me and it made me realize that you truly do love me. What breaks my heart is that this wasn’t there during the end of our relationship” The woman stopped for a moment as she tried to hold back the tears that she had

It was to show you that if you want and I need you to remember that if YOU WANT I’ll be right here waiting with my arms open and ready to love you all over again because like I said a new relationship would be easy for both of us but they wouldn’t have those parts that make us so perfect and comfortable together. Now I’ll admit I hope this does make you want to try this again but if it doesn’t that’s fine because now you know everything I was so cowardly to say while we were together.” Harry finished as Y/N sniffled into the phone
Y/N managed to start talking without breaking her words “I do understand. I don’t know if I’d want to try again though. We could, but it could end up like it did last time, it could also last a long time, but I’m in a place where I’m slowly getting better and I’m not sure if risking that is a good thing. If I’d have heard this when we were together then that’s another story. Maybe we couldn’t work it out together and recovered from our problems and mental health issues together. But we had to separate to help ourselves, that itself says something. Harry, I love you and I will always love our son and the life that we have together but I am seeing someone Harry and I need to see where that goes” Harry smiled sadly as his eyes filled with tears before he whispered “ I understand. I’ll talk to you soon Y/N. Tell Jace I love him and that daddy misses him.” Harry didn’t say goodbye. He just hung up.
Harry knows that what he did was childish and he should’ve been supportive, he couldn’t help it. He was upset, heartbroken, disappointed,miserable. Harry knew that he couldn’t do that to his ex wife and mother of his child, he grabbed his phone and quickly texted back “I am happy for you, I’m elated that you found someone to make you feel the way I feel about you. I’m not going to lie. I was hoping that my 50 reasons would give a little time to take you off your feet. I was just a little too late. I love you Y/N. I’ll always be waiting for you… No matter what”

She’d only just stepped out from the ballroom when a hand grasped herelbow and directed her away at a quick pace. Brielle looked up to see Peter ather side, glancing over his shoulder before taking them into a darkened corner.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
“I’m trying to hide from Susan’s wrath for not helping and Lucy’s excitementfor the whole day,” Peter replied. “I thought I’d save you because you wereable to get away.” He gave her a small smile. “Even if only for a little while.”
“I’m sure they’ll sick Lucy on you to find you sooner than you’d think,”Brielle replied. “So, you better get moving before any of the servants see us.”She poked her head out from around the corner, searching the hallways as shedid so.
