Hey, currently on the browser/web version of tumblr it takes three clicks to open your own blog, which is a bit annoying and weird to navigate (unless you’ve just posted/reblogged something that puts your own pfp at the top of your own dash and you can click that). Is there a plan to add an easier way to quickly open your own blog, like we had before where your own pfp was always at the top of the dash?

A short and sweet answer for you here. We understand and agree—and agree wholeheartedly, in fact. 

It is an admittedly not-awesome aspect of the current design, and we would like to put it on the list as something to improve in 2024. It would also be a nifty addition to the dashboard experience. 

As usual, we would suggest you keep your eyes peeled to @changes and here at @wip for news as and when we have it.

Restricted Fics

Just did a little experiment and browsed the Archive while incognito, as though I’m reading as a guest.  Restricted fics don’t appear in searches.  When you choose a fandom and browse all the stories, restricted fics don’t show up in the list of everything that’s offered.  I searched my restricted fics by story name, which gave no results.  I also searched by account name; nothing.  Additionally, my fics don’t show up when searching outside of AO3 on google, either by account name or story title.  

Gives a better idea of what’s actually going on when you restrict your account.

An update from Bisan, posted today 11/05/23, saying she does not think she will survive long because Israel is bombing anything that may help people survive. Sources of electricity, solar panels, water. Bakeries are running out of petrol and wheat and any that obtain said materials are threatened with bombing.

There is no food and water and without electricity it is impossible to find or make any. The infrastructure is collapsing because 100-300 bombs happened last night, all over Gaza, and people are coughing and ill.

Today, they dropped posts saying this is their LAST CHANCE to evacuate to the south. People have no way to leave, nothing to sustain them, this is genocide. They are starving, injured, ill with gassed air with only the sea left to them. Aid is not reaching anyone.

There are no Ads, algorithms, you can subscribe to my newsletter, and go more into depth on my inspirations and what the pieces mean to me. I will still of course keep social media, but posts from that blog will be shared to this one (I will still post shop updates to Tumblr and answer asks).

This new blog is to allow me a space where I can create anything and still share it with the world without social media punishing me from posting too many different things.

Then I will be able to actually use Tumblr like the social media it is intended to be, without feeling pressure of keeping it solely for art.

Don't you think Tumblr users should have a limit on creating accounts? We have blocked users coming back under a new account continuing to make trouble for people. How many accounts can a Tumblr user have?

Answer: Hey, @3iuu-na!

So we are afraid this is just one of those hard facts true of any part of the internet. While we have some tools in place to stop people from doing this in the obvious ways, it’s incredibly difficult to prevent all of the ways, so we’re not perfect.

We are not aware, in fact, of any platform on the internet that can successfully fully stop someone from making another account if they’re determined enough. (Unless they shut off new account creation entirely for everyone.) The only thing that’s kind of comparable here is how Netflix is currently trying to stop people from using the same account in multiple locations, which is the opposite of this problem and has just as much technical difficulty to get right.

But we couldn’t agree more in principle: banned users should not be able to create new accounts. We are not sure we can prevent them from doing this in all cases. Regardless, if you see somebody awful making a comeback in a new account and doing bad things, please report them! We’ll happily ban them again.

Good singer, great performer, not a huge vocal range

Ran away from home when he was pretty young, which is why he's a bit of a swindler now

He makes friends pretty easily, he knows how to connect with people quickly without it feeling forced

Plays the guitar

Julien and Morris have a kind of friends with benefits relationship going on (after Julien and John's separation); Morris has feelings for Julien and feels bad for him, Julien is very lonely and Morris is nice to him

Very stubborn, one reason why he doesn't talk to his family is because they haven't reached out to him first

Alcoholic before and after his time with JD

Friends with Patty and Jackie because Morris is Patty's brother

He hangs out with them a lot so they can keep an eye on him and so he's not quite so lonely
