The other Power-ups work differently to the Fire/Ice flowers..

Any power-ups that transform the bros bodies usually expend energy by just keeping them transformed. And even if the bros don't actively use that power, it'll eventually just drain itself away.

For example, the super shroom. Making Mario grow big and keeping him big consumes power. If he ate a super shroom and just stood there, eventually he would shrink back to normal. Running around. jumping, punching, that activity would make it drain faster though.

Same goes for the Super bell, mini mushroom, mega mushroom, super leaf, double cherry,,, etc. Just keeping the bros transformed consumes power. The fire/ice flowers don't transform the bros though. Mario and Luigi's bodies stay the same, they just become outlets to expel the flowers power. And if they don't use it.. well.. its gonna stay stored up in their bodies. And eventually freeze/burn them to death..

The only odd case when it comes to Power-ups is the 1-Up mushroom. It stores itself in the host's body, and doesn't effect the host or release its power unless it needs too. Mario could touch a 1-Up, and then 15 years later he dies and that's when the 1-Up will release its power. All though those 15 years Mario would have had 0 side effects from having it in his body. Its as if it didn't exist at all..

Hmm,, I haven't really thought too much about them other than the stuff I already talked about in the OG post..

But I was thinking that the imp species could have all these wacky and bizarre shapes at the end of their tails that dont really make sense..? Jevil's tail being this odd T/Y shape is actually rather bland/common. But other than that,, I cant really think of any other developments to their species <:/ Sorry! I can see them all just living on the octopod. Traveling around the ocean in hopes of finding livable waters. All grieving over the loss of their families.. I cant imagine the pain they'd suffer, the hardships they'd face.. and what they'd have to do to survive..

If any of the three Octodads were to experience a hallucination, it would probably be either Natquik or Calico Jack. But since I'm going through a re-write of Natquik's backstory and I don't actually know how traumatizing his re-write will be... I'm gonna say that Calico Jack is most likely to have one.

Although I'm not sure what would cause it.. mayyybe an encounter with a creature in the everglades could remind him of a traumatizing experience he had..? And that panic could result in hallucinations? I actually know very little about how hallucinations work so its hard to say what would exactly trigger one to occur.. <:(

I have plans for them to encounter a lot of Kwazii's monsters in someway. :0

I don't know if its necessarily pain..? More like.. a panic attack maybe?

When they're separated, their systems are flooded with commands to seek out the other. And if they cant find th.em or reach them? Well.. those commands will get overwhelming.

But that doesn't mean that you cant do maintenance on them. My idea was that there's a simple procedure where you take both of them to parts and service, put one aside and put one on the work bench.. and then shut them both down at the same time. Then when the work is done, reactivate both of them and return them to their room. Easy!

As for why they designed them like this? The main idea I had was that having this A.I. meant that they would naturally follow each other around in a way that seemed natural. Fazbear entertainment really wanted their animatronics to seem life like, but they also don't want Fred and Spring to ever separate. They want them to always be in the same room for photo shoots and meet and greets.

This A.I. means that if Spring is talking to a guest and a kid tried to lead Fred by the hand to another room.. Fred would stop at the doorway and redirect himself and the kid back into the room. "Lets play here instead!" "My friends Spring Bonnie is here, lets play here instead!" Meanwhile Springs conversation remains uninterrupted. This in turn makes them seem more life like and also prevents them from seperating.

Its not very strong reasoning but its all I've got to be honest <XDD

Also as for Spring loosing Fred..? It would be impossible for him to function without Fred. If they scrapped one, they'd have to scrap the other..

Stardom 2024 predictions a la "3 Count"

If you guys haven't seen the WrestleTalk series "3 Count" I highly recommend it. Basically, it's predicting something, or looking back on something, and describing it in three words or less. I wanted to use that format to give my Stardom predictions for 2024. I can look back on these next year and see how many I got right :) Feel free to comment your own or give your thoughts!

I like how Frank summed that up, very interesting! So, the three major brands of Gyro's tech seen in the show are BulbTech, GoldTech, and TimeTech. But the order in which he created them gets a little tricky, which I'll try to uncover.

As for "TimeTech is his new thing"... I'll get to that further down...

As we see in season 2's 'What Ever Happened To Della Duck?', Gyro invented GoldTech- presumably his earliest brand of tech, or at least one of his earliest- sometime before Della took off in the Spear of Selene years ago (he presumably designed the rocket to run on GoldTech; and I love the page in the Spear of Selene’s manual that talks about the benefits to it XD):

In Gyro's debut episode 'The Great Dime Chase' early in season 1, he first introduced BulbTech to Scrooge and the Board with his prototype Lil Bulb...

...which, in season 3's 'Astro B.O.Y.D.', was hinted to be from an old idea he actually had during his intern years (the working name at that time being 'Lil Helper', which was a cool reference to its name from the comics and 80s show):

And in season 2, his TimeTech was introduced (although it was never actually called that in the show). There was the Time Tub ('The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck' and 'Timephoon') and the Time Teaser ('The 87 Cent Solution'), the latter which Glomgold found/stole just as Manny was on his way to dispose of it along with a bunch of other apparently discarded inventions of Gyro's:

The strange thing is... according to 'The Great Dime Chase', Gyro had already invented his Time Tub prior to that episode (prior to creating BulbTech). It was listed among his failed experiments (and what's also interesting is that it wasn't shown gaining sentience and turning evil in either of its only appearances 'The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck' or 'Timephoon'):

What's also interesting is that in a blink-and-miss-it moment toward the end of 'The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck', Gyro was seen powering his Time Tub with GoldTech right before he left the Old West period (look very carefully at the gif in this post by @kats-randomology; what Gyro pulls out of his pocket is a tiny nugget of gold, which he inserts into his time machine). So... his Time Tub was a form of TimeTech that ran on GoldTech (if anything, I'd thought it was a hybrid of TimeTech and BulbTech because of the lightbulbs adorning the mechanism as shown in the above screenshots of it)??? So, he was still using his old GoldTech and he designed his time machine to run on it? Did he ever stop using GoldTech at any point after Della went missing?

Then again, we have no idea what year Gyro even came from when he got stuck in the Old West in 'Outlaw Scrooge McDuck'. I just always assumed it was present-day Gyro because he implied that Fenton's ancestor reminded him of his intern ("You are very frustratingly familiar to me"). But his Time Tub was in the lab in 'Timephoon' when Louie stole it (Louie presumably even knew about it, because he seemed to sneak into the lab specifically to take it for his get-rich-quick scheme), so I dunno. When exactly did he create the Time Tub?? If it turned evil at some point, I don't know why he would use it again, unless he was determined to perfect it for some reason...?

Okay, so one thing to note about most of my OCs, is their names generally just pop out of the random mess of alphabet soup constantly simmering in some corner of my brain. Not ALL of them (for example, Akagi's family name), but most. Or are inspired/pulled from other places. I will go with my big three main MMO fellas, and my two 100% original OCs. Also, have a cut cause I, uh, got carried away. ^_^; (And I am sorry this took so long. >.<)

Zedd Overkill/Zed'rika Ov'redis- Okay, this guy. My half-echani smuggler in SWTOR, who is based on the original I made ages ago (and who is the descendant of the SWTOR one, after some revisions/additions/etc.) The OG is Zedd Overkill, inspired by my favorite Power Rangers villain (Lord Zedd), the head agent from MiB (Zed, as in the letter) and with inspiration from Hackers (Crash Override), a dash (heh, pun) of Dash Rendar from Shadows of the Empire and a maybe just a hint of Han solo. The name popped into my head after watching Hackers and was trying to think up a cool email during computer class (back when Hotmail was still Hotmail xD). The name was repurposed with a smuggler character I made with a friend when we were just making up neat Star Wars OCs for a maybe story we were writing. Story never got finished, but Zedd stuck around. "Overkill" is more a nickname now, as his preferred method of rapid problem-solving involves liberal applications of thermal detonators. x3 Rav Masahiro & Marshall O'Donnell - These two are my second oldest persistent OCs after good ol' Zedd. There is technically one that is older (in fact, old enough that he used Zedd's moniker for a while, back when folding an OC to fit any AU was my MO), but he's kind of only half-baked, for the most part. Rav and Marshall are next in line, and are, by and large much more polished. The story they were to be set in was very grand in scale and scope, considering it was kind of a series of AUs where things in various realities were being fucked with, and they are two of a team of six who are sent out to deal with such things. If this sounds like a certain popular video game franchise from a prominent Japanese publisher, you'd be right in there being some similarities, I guess, but they predate it by about a year. Well, technically Rav predates it, Marshall didn't crystallize until about a year or so later. Powersets are very shounen-ish, I guess? Little bit of henshin and other stuff thrown in for flavor (and things have been tweaked and appended over time). Anyway, Rav's name comes from a reworking of my own name, as he is kind of my self-insert-ish guy. His last name comes from my at-the-time rampant obsession with Japanese culture (yes, yes, I'll say it, I was a weeb. The interest remains, though tempered by time, experience and education). I thought his last name meant something else, as Googling in those early days was... a crap shoot. And the fact that Masahiro is a given name in Japanese hasn't deterred me, as embarrassing as it might be, it just... is a thing now. xD (The other half-baked OC I mentioned has a similar nomenclature goof). Marshall's name kind of just, popped out of the ether, but it flows well and it fits. She does let people close to her shorten it to "Shall" (sounds like shawl). Do NOT call her "Marsh", "Marshie" or "Marsha" or she'll deck you. Like, lay you out flat with one punch. Moving on!

Xanotos Delkai - My Warrior tank in WoW. Another lad who went through some changes. xD So my first character in WoW was a human hunter back in the...alpha or beta, whenever it was they were originally playable before getting nixed. His name was Thanatos, inspired by the character of the same name from a Sega CD fighting game Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side. He was a typical Grim Reaper-y Death (as Thanatos was the personification of death in Greek mythology, and a psychopomp, I believe). I liked the name. However, the character was nuked after the alpha or beta or whatnot. So, when I remade the character for the full version, I rolled up a Warrior and named him Xanatos/Xanotos (depending on the server), or Xano. Now, I have remade and moved this character many times over the years. Delkai became his surname at some point, and when worgen came out, he was race-changed to worgen, and his backstory was shifted and fleshed out further. Fun fact: the Gargoyles TV series was the farthest thing from my mind when I made this toon, and was for many years. It wasn't until... just before or around Legion, I think? that I realized I had named him the same (if spelled differently) as Evil 90s Will Riker. xD

Akagi Obinata - And now we get to my most recent and most prevalent MMO OC, Akagi. Paladin, Tankfriend, tol dragon/lizard man. So, sadly, this boy is the third I have given a Japanese-style name to, and borked the order of, because Akagi is a freaking surname. >.< Now, I am aware that Hingashi (he was born and raised in/around Kugane) is only kind of Etheirys-Japan, but... I am just...moving on! The inspiration for his given name is one Akagi Shunsuke (or Shunsuke Akagi, in Western fashion) from the anime Dai-Guard. It is an absolutely insane super robot show and I love it, and I see a lot of myself in one of the protagonists (the aforementioned Akagi Shunsuke). So, in honor of a favorite character, I chose that. Forgetting, or blindly ignoring the fact that just because everyone in the show (save for his one relative we see) refers to him as Akagi because it is a cultural thing, and not because it is his given name. >.< What's done is done, however. His surname, thankfully, is one from a list of suggested surnames from the raen au ra lore I could find. It means "blades on waist", and I figured that there were samurai in his family line far enough back that that was the name they took. Akagi, by the way, is if I am not mistaken, "red castle", and well, he IS red. And the Paladin LB3 is a freaking castle WALL, so... it fits in a retroactive kind of way. xD (I was not thinking of his coloring, nor was I aware of what the LB3 looked like when I made him. ^_^; )

And that is it! Do I have more OCs? Yes! But they are all kind of self-contained to different things, and their names are more of a kind of mental slot machine than these goobers (plus the one xD). Hopefully I didn't ramble TOO too much, but I get excited about my homemade blorbos, y'know how it is. Thanks for reading!

favorite color: Yellow!! Though I also really love blue, specifically cerulean. There's getting to be a bit more of those colors in my closet again (in the form of darker blues and gold-yellows bc those colors look better on me) but also a lot of black and maroon these days.

song stuck in my head: At the exact time of typing, "This Is the Renaissance" (by Sparks, as if anyone seeing this needs to know) bc I made a reference to it earlier. I nearly always have a song stuck in my head but my brain is fickle with them, they usually switch frequently and I'll go through several different ones on any given day. Sometimes two songs will get stuck in my head at once, which is always cool.

three favorite foods: Chocolate, if that counts. Spaghetti carbonara. Bratkartoffeln. I never like this question because I could list dozens more.

last song I listened to: "I've Never Been High" (Sparks again). Absolutely gorgeous song. *Case in point, this is now my answer to question 3.

dream trip: I'm sorta taking it this month! I've been wanting to visit the UK for years now; I had plans to study abroad in England for a semester but covid ruined that. Unfortunately this time around I won't have the chance to go to Wales or further up north to Scotland and Ireland like I would've wanted, but I'll be visiting Liverpool and Birmingham, which are bucket list items for me as home of two of my favorite bands. And honestly, getting to see Sparks twice and having the chance to meet a few of my Sparks friends makes it a dream trip anyway!

last thing(s) i googled: "German fried potatoes" to answer question 4 above XD because I couldn't remember the name of the dish my Oma makes that I love. Aside from that, "can a squish become a crush"... I've certainly had feelings for the Maels for a while, but as time has gone on, and especially lately, I've noticed it's started to feel *different*, and different than any other "crush" I've had in the past, and I'm still trying to make sense of it all. Cue me reading as much as I can about the ace/aro experience with crushes and celebrity crushes and what romantic attraction actually feels like.

HELLO I don’t know anything about King’s Quest! I’ve never even heard of it before. What’s it like, and how did it inspire your work?

Hello! Thanks for asking! This is going to be a bit of a long answer, so apologies in advance for the long post. XD

King's Quest is a fantasy game series by Sierra Entertainment, and the original series is made of 8 games (plus a reimagining of the same name that was released in 2015), all going in chronological order if I'm not mistaken. Depending on which game in the series you played, it involved a combo of point-and-click and typing in commands and/or just point-and-click to solve puzzles, complete tasks, and get past enemies to achieve some overall goal (often defeating a Big Bad at the end for story reasons).

Also, if you die (and there are MANY ways to die, ranging from nightmare fuel to straight-up hilarious), the narrator will make fun of your death. Literally. Just search up a compilation of deaths from one of the King's Quest games on Youtube and you'll get what I mean. 

This franchise also has three books that are very hard to find used copies of nowadays, but I discovered that someone scanned them and shared files of those scanned copies on Reddit if you want to read those (I also have plans to read them and writing book reviews for each of them this year). Said books take place inbetween certain games, though, so be careful of spoilers. 

As for my personal experience, I grew up playing King's Quest V in particular on the computer, mistook the title of it to just be "Sierra," and then I literally spent DECADES trying to find the game series again and only re-discovered it last year! It's now available through platforms like GOG.com and Steam for you to purchase and play for yourself. 

The thing about King’s Quest, and I’ve mentioned it before, is that EVERY ITEM in each game is always useful for something. It might be an immediate task you find shortly after you find the item, or it might be much later in the game. If you forget to grab an item, or use the wrong item at the wrong time and realize later on that you actually needed it for a future task (some items are used unconventionally which doesn’t help, like using a pie to get rid of a Yeti in King’s Quest V), then you’re stuck. Walkthroughs exist for most if not all the games online to prevent this nowadays, but it’s still easy to screw up something and have to restart from an earlier save point. 

I thought about this for a while, while replaying the games, realized that there weren’t really any fantasy novels I’d read that played with that element, and it led me to think: Why don’t I just try writing a novel inspired by King’s Quest? My goal is to capture the tone of the game (it’s a mix of lighthearted and darker moments, honestly) in its writing, but also add in the challenge of every item the main characters use HAS to be useful, even if used in an unconventional way. It’s been super fun writing this novel so far for sure!

Everything went pretty fast, only undressing the bottoms ,he lifted you,with his left hand, over his dick in ,his right hand.

You kept balance by putting your hands on his shoulders. You let yourself slowly down on him while raising your head up out of pure pleasure. You never thought you ever got to experience this. He started nibbling on your throat, there was plenty of space now.

Alexandr also sighed in pleasure as he kept pounding into you in a slow but decent pace. He kept getting faster tho after a certain amount of time, getting a heavy breathing.

You were pretty near to finish and did seconds after thinking about it. You moaned his named loudly - louder than you wanted actually- but after hearing you, he couldn't keep back and pressed you hips pretty hard onto him.

Both of you were breathing really heavy and he took your face into his hands and kisses you. he looks you into the the eyes and says;,, I really do love you." You couldn't keep it for yourself anymore and said aswell;,, I love you too Alexandr"

After both of you dressed and rested for a bit, Alexandr stood up and examined the door, and without a second thought he tried to force the doors open.

And he actually managed to get them kind of open, even though it was just a gap, both of you saw where you were. Litteraly the floor where you need to get.

You looked at him in disbelieve;,,we where here the whole time? THIS COULD HAVE BEEN SO EASY?"

You were shocked and just got up and walked out.,, Would you hate me if intold you that I intentionally used a mechanism to stop the elevator to get close to you" , he said while grinning at you.

Happy Hetalia day or the 16th anniversary at least everyone!

God damn I've been in the fandom for five long years. It feels a lot longer than that honestly.

I'm not sure what to do to celebrate so why not tell my fandom story.

So I got into it Hetalia at 13 after watching a top 10 Christmas episodes in Anime video. For awhile I thought this was from the channel Anime America, but I’ve recently discovered it was actually a WatchMojo video lol. Basically I got most of my anime recommendations from videos like that. A couple months later and I finally got around to watching Hetalia. I almost quit the series three episodes in because I watched the dub and some of the jokes made me...uncomfy... at times. But for one reason or another I returned to it a few days later and then it just...stuck with me. 

For awhile I just consumed content for the series in private. I watched AMVs, those ship videos with (often uncredited) fanart and a song fitting the ship in the background, read all the GerIta fics I could find, downloaded like all of the character songs. I even got Pinterest behind my parents’ back just to look at fanart xD (don’t lie to your parents kids. Don’t worry I stayed safe and just looked at fanart). 

Of course I read Auf Wiedersehen Sweet Heart. It was probably one of the first few Hetalia fanfics I read). I haven’t read it since I was 13 but I remember it being well written and it made me realize just how good fanfiction could be.

Somewhere in that exploration of content beyond the anime, I found Kyokoon’s channel through Dreamtalia and discovered the world of hetagames. Honestly, at the time I found Dreamtalia, my obsession with Hetalia was waning. Like I still liked the series, but I almost completely stopped consuming fan content unless it came across my dash. I got into it at a good time when the game was pretty much complete save for some unfinished screenshots and I got to the point where I was watching it unfold weekly. I remember the day I was supposed to leave for my end of the year school trip (which would last a few days), I got up extra early to watch the new episode of the lp because it was close to the end and thus they were leaving it off at a bunch of cliff hangers and I had to find out what happened next. Eventually I joined Kyo’s discord server, introducing me to discord for the first time. In conclusion, Dreamtalia played a huge role in my early fandom experience and later on down the line it would play an even bigger role in my current experience. 

So, once again, I consumed all the fan content I could find, mainly being Gerita. Through Dreamtalia, I found other hetalia youtubers.  Hetafacts was probably  the other channel that I frequented the most as I loved their theories so much. I ended up making Kaitlyn (a secretary/self-insert oc) and I even made a fanfic of her. My art style started to become inspired by Hetalia. I got my first fictional crush on England, read my first reader x character fanfictions. Things were going great!

Then IT happened. Dreamtalia came back, finally complete with all screenshots and everything. I of course, loving the game watched the new lp. As I’ve explained before: hand-holding buddies happened and I got pulled into GerEng, the world of multishipping and rarepair hell. Not long after, I read the book “Fangirl” and have the strong urge to write fanfiction. Having just gotten into GerEng and loving Arthur I decided to start off writing for them. A year or so later I joined tumblr to share fanart and get in touch with other fans. I joined a bunch of discord servers and eventually made my own. I made my own ask blog after being inspired by asking-gereng and ask-aph-fruk (which I have scrolled through multiple times because I still love both blogs to death). 

Through Hetalia I was able to find my passion for writing (which I’m now hoping to pursue as career), my love of history and make many wonderful, talented online friends. Though the series itself and the fandom is controversial, I’ve been lucky and have had nothing but good experiences within the fandom and it’s changed my life for the better. It’s one of my greatest comforts and I can’t imagine a life without it.

BEST EXPERIENCE: While we do like to drag the site for being a dumpster fire, I really have met so many amazing people here. I met the light of my life @bottleofbabes in the KProject rp community as well as Komi and Michelle whom I've known for over a decade at this point (Tay you are either also in the decade point or almost there it is hard to find the date). I have made so many friends here who have become big parts of my daily life (you know who you guys are) and all the other friends and sweet people I've met here have made it a great space. Also the chance to share my babies and write their stories

RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: I am a really patient and understanding and have found that sometimes that gets taken advantage of or people don't show me the same treatment. Luckily I don't have a lot of that these days. I do feel like I am always the one who has to reach out though because if I don't people won't, and that gets frustrating especially when the other person has followed me first, but I digress.

FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: I love all three of these! Fluff that comes at the end of angst just hits different XD

PLOTS OR MEMES: I haven't posted an ask meme in a hot minute. Love sending them in to others though and I like plotting just as much!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Depends on the thread! I don't really like the "matching" thread length thing and prefer to write until I've said what I wanted to in the reply. I never want my rp partners to feel the need to match me.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: I write throughout the day when I can! Inspiration hits me at work all the time though when I am stuck in the office haha. The less tired I am the easier it is to write but I tend to write more in the evening due to the unfortunate fact of having a full time job.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): I mentioned Some of them! Some have traits I have, some have parts of my past or present, some have personality traits, and some are absolutely not like me overall. Depends on the muse. Though maybe there is at least a crumb of me in each muse.

1. First things first, how did you get into writing/drawing fan content (this doesn’t have to be specific to The Quarry)? I think it was school, maybe in year 5? (5th grade for those that use it that way). I remember my class would write little stories from time to time and then it later, it graduated to fanfics (and by later, I mean three years after that XD). My ex friends (long story, for a different day) introduced me to a website known as Quotev.com (later joined Wattpad and ao3). 

2. What was the first thing you wrote/drew for The Quarry? Haven’t done any Quarry related work yet but I’m thinking about it. Just give me a few weeks or months I’m sure I’ll think of something. 

3. What is a work you’ve done that you are the most proud of? There is a few that I am proud of. I can’t just name one ‘:) 

4. Name a favourite trope you like to draw, read or write. I don’t know if I have a favourite. I am aware of a few but don’t know if I have a fav. Let me think ... yeah don’t have a fav. 

5. Is there any specific character/scenarios/ships in The Quarry that is a go-to of yours to write/draw about? If I had written a lot of The Quarry fanfics, I would probably write about Nick, Jacob or Dylan the most. Maybe even Ryan.

6. Has there ever been a time when creating a piece that you’re just like ‘I can’t do this’, but have pushed yourself through it and been extremely proud of the end result? Currently at my fanfic writing experience, no. That might change in future though. 

7. What is one specific thing you love about creating fan content for The Quarry? Ask me in the future when I eventually start creating fan context for it. 

8. Is there any specific routine you have to get into before creating said work, if so, what? Have YouTube on in the background. I work best with noise in the background. Sometimes Netflix or any other device that lets me watch movies or tv shows (usually has to be a movie or show I have watched many times before because then I know I won’t be missing information that will need paying attention to). Realising now this is more of me watching YouTube etc while writing. 

9. Any current/future WIPs that you would like to share with us? Go to my pinned post and you will find all of my accounts where my WIPs are at. 

10. What do you tend to do when you’re stuck in a creative rut? I tell myself to come back to it later. If I force myself to write something simply because people like it, then it won’t be good. Sometimes I will go to @lowonmelatonin for help.

11. Any advice for newcomers to The Quarry fandom? Don’t be afraid if a character dies in your playthrough. Unlike Until Dawn, you can replay scenes for them to survive (sad thing is, you only get three chances each playthrough, use it wisely). Don’t believe that the creature is bears ... its not bears, never has been bears, never will bears and there is no mentions of drop bears, despite one of the actors being born in Australia. The cards are hard to find (in my opinion, or I might just be an idiot and don’t know where to look for some of them). 

12. Name your favourite memory about creating fan content for The Quarry. Ask me when I do end up making content for it :)

~Guess who somehow lost this ask in their inbox~ (if you guessed me, you'd be right xD) Sorry sorry about that!!! But I did see it now, so have Tanza tarot answers! :D

👺 XV - The Devil : Entrapment, bondage, being stuck on the material plane, ignorance, hopelessness, depression, doubt, loss of hope.

Tanza's relationship with Jormag fits the bill for this card in a lot of ways. So, for at least half of the background here: when she was a baby, an enterprising and very overconfident Svanir shaman and a group of his loyal followers decided to use her as, more or less, a test subject. They were trying to find a way to more "safely" imbue someone with Jormag's power without them full-on becoming one of the very powerful but more-or-less mindless Icebrood. It was an incredibly fine line to begin with and also not the smartest decision for a host of reasons, not least of which is that the experiment technically succeeded but also killed everyone involved but Tanza.

Tanza was found by the two people who became their adoptive mothers, and they grew up without a) knowing about the ritual and b) without anyone who could tell them about the ritual at all, since their mothers had no clue about any of the details past finding a very upset and somehow still alive baby in a cave filled with ice. They were still connected to Jormag, but since they had no idea (and since Jormag was still mostly asleep at this point), the connection stayed dormant.*

That not-fully-realized connection that she'd been stuck with as a kid came back to bite her during Icebrood. She managed not to fully turn, but she was stuck with the connection until Jormag was killed, which was a pain for several reasons--not the least of which was because she happened to be part of the Vigil squad deployed to Bjora Marches and Jora's Keep.**

(*It's also worth noting that this kid who was unknowingly connected to Jormag went off and forged their own--incredibly strong, mind you--connection with the half-dead Owl Spirit. Gotta love that for them.)

(**Jormag would very much have liked to have Tanza as their champion and actively tries to get Tanza to listen to them. That doesn't work because she very much does not want the job, and Ryland ends up as Champion. It's another reason on the very long list of reasons why Tanza really doesn't like the guy--she fought so hard against this and he sought it out. Just...the fundamental conflict is very "wtf, buddy?!" for her.)

🌙 XVIII - The Moon : Fear, illusions, fantasies, delving into the imaginary, loss of direction.

One thing to mention here is kinda what I already have--Tanza struggles with unreality a Lot during their time in Bjora Marches, thanks to Jormag. They take a copter out of there and to the Eye of the North as soon as they realize that they are being specifically targeted and are one of the least-safe people in the Marches.

For something different, Tanza and direction is an interesting combo. On one hand, she has a very clear direction in her life--she's connected to Owl and has been for years, and she wants to help and learn from the Spirit as much as possible. On the other hand, they're very much direction-less for a long time. A decent amount of their friends, most notably their best friend Aysel, leave their homestead to help in the fight against the dragons, or to see more of the world, or to work (or some combo of the three). She doesn't want to leave; she wants to make sure her mothers are safe from everything happening. At the same time, her connection to Owl is more nebulous at this point than what it later becomes (when she officially takes on the Havroun position), and she doesn't feel like she's making a difference. They do eventually end up leaving to join the Vigil halfway-ish through LWS3, but they struggle with choosing a definitive direction to go.

5. where do you buy books?

I used to work in a bookstore (for over 10 years), so at that time I naturally bought pretty much all my books there, and I'm still in the same habit. ^^ In general, I do prefer physical stores to online stores. Its more fun to browse there. Sometimes I buy books from Adlibris (a Swedish online book store, which is pretty big in Finland too).

14. do you ever mark/dog ear books you own?

…no. Or, I'm sure there are occasions that I've done this in the past... >_> I'd still say no. I own a gazillion of bookmarks, tho most often there just some random piece of paper stuck in-between the pages. ^^;;

15. recommend and review a book.

……a book? As in only one? What am I to choose…

I'd like to pick something from C.J. Cherryh or Clifford D. Simak, couple of my favorite authors, but maybe I'll choose instead Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes (published in 1966). It's a beautiful book, I think… moving, but quite sad. I think I'll start with the back cover blurb:

"Charlie Gordon, IQ 68, is a floor sweeper, and the gentle butt of everyone's jokes, until an experiment in the enhancement of human intelligence turns him into a genius. But then Algernon, the mouse whose triumphal experimental transformation preceded his, fades and dies, and Charlie has to face the possibility that his salvation was only temporary."

Now… one thing I would like to point out is that this so-called 'salvation' isn't so black and white to begin with. Is being smart really the only thing that matters?

Out of curiosity, I checked 1-star reviews on Amazon. There's three kinds of them: 1) those who didn't like the swearing/sexual references and who had bought this book for kids (I mean… what about it made you think it's a children's book?), 2) those who found it too hard/boring to follow (I'll refrain from any comments), and 3) those who complain about spelling errors. The last thing is hilarious to me. This book is basically Charlie's diary, and like I said, his IQ in the beginning is 68. He doesn't know how to spell (in the beginning). So yes, there are spelling errors. A lot of them. Here's the first sentence: "Dr Strauss says I shoud rite down what I think and remembir and evrey thing that happins to me from now on." If this kind of writing gets on your nerves, maybe you should skip this book. XD

19. most disliked popular books?

First I couldn't think of anything but…… there's this pretty popular (I think?) fantasy author, Tad Williams. And I do like him too! Some years ago I got this urge to read some proper fantasy, and I ended up rereading his Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series, and I loved it just as much as I did back when I first read it. And then I noticed he had just decided to continue it (after 25 years or so, impeccable timing from me, isn't this!) The little book that connects the old trilogy to the new trilogy(?) is called The Heart of What Was Lost and… it's so bad. So bad. ;_; People and places just had common names with the old, familiar things, and that's all; change the names, and it could have been just any other (quite mediocre) fantasy book, set somewhere else. The world-building, part of what had made the original series so fantastic, wasn't there either.

And people love that book! There are reviews under such titles as "Magic of Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn Recaptured," "An Excellent Re-Introduction to Osten Ard," "A great followup to Memory Sorry (sic.) and Thorn trilogy!" and "Williams hovers on the edge of greatness," and I'm just like, have we read the same book? O_o I personally found it bad as a book, and awful as a continuation to that series! (Sorry if it's your favorite book. >_>)

(Also, the followup series… it's okay~ish, but again, nowhere near to the original series either. I've only read the first two books. The third part has apparently come out last year. Maybe I'll read it some day. Or maybe not, we'll see.)

I was tagged by @majestictortoise to do this a few days ago. Sorry that it took a minute, life + adhd = a very forgetful Cap lol

3 ships: I have SeanWhite, PrapaiSky and LeoFiat listed as my three ships that I’m not normal about but I’m gonna challenge myself to do 3 different ships that have been creeping up on me and are completely stuck in my head. So I’m going to go with…KimChay (seriously these two and their adorable mess of emotions and open ending…well mostly open ending, thank you concert series XD), WaanTul (I love WinTeam and I rarely get second lead syndrome but damn if these boys don’t live in my head rent free) and KingUea (the shows not even over yet and I’m completely sold on them)

First ship: honestly I think my first ship was Sesshomaru and Kagome from Inuyasha (along with Inuyasha and Kagome hahaha) but my first serious ship was a tie between Merthur and ArthurGwen (because Arthur has two hands). I had smaller ships along the way but BBC’s Merlin was the first time I really had like a ship™️ (also yes I’m aging myself because I watched it while it was airing…when I was in high school)

Last song: Dum Dum - Jeff Satur. This song has me in a chokehold I swear. But it’s also on a playlist for my novel so I’ve been listening to that while I’m in the research stage instead of writing the many fanfic ideas I have haha

Last Movie: I rewatched Long Time No See last weekend. Still as good as the first time and every time I’m impressed by the Tak Woo Suk’s performance as Chi Soo. He does such a good job! Yeon Seung Ho also does a really good job and I really enjoy the movie.

Currently Reading: mostly fanfiction. I even recently started reading a The Eclipse fic despite never having seen the show (I know I know, it’s in my list but my executive function hasn’t switched off of the “nope can’t do it not today” mode for it yet) For actually books, I’m reading the 6th Bridgerton book because I am a romantic at heart lol and slowly making my way through One Last Stop

Currently watching: Bed Friend, Love Syndrome III, A Boss and A Babe and Tin Tem Jai are the ones I’m actively watching week to week. I’m watching Love Mechanics for the first time as I’ve never seen it, only the En of Love version which I only kind of liked so it’s going to be an experience haha. I’m also starting my rewatch of Between Us and since the 1 year anniversary or KinnPorsche is this week (today!) I’m going to be doing a rewatch for that soon, hopefully within the next week or so (might do a liveblog of my rewatch because why not lol)

Current Craving: Spaghetti with meat sauce? Also chocolate because I never don’t want chocolate haha XD

We have been mutuals for well over a year. It doesn't happen often that I connect with someone so well that it transfers over onto other blogs. After all, back when we first started writing, we wrote mostly in the same fandom. However, as our fandoms changed, we kept finding ways to connect our characters with one another. Even some of the truly weird ones. I am not fully sure if we actually had Rick and Morty stuff before I added my non-live-action muses. However, the point remains the same. We kept finding ways to write with each other, even with fandoms, which at first glance should be completely incompatible.

And we did that because we became friends over our time here. We liked each other's company, even if we were both massive introverts. I followed you at first specifically due to your incredibly detailed writing style and how well you portrayed each of your characters, differentiating between them with ease, and giving them so much life and depth, it was just exquisite. It is amazing how well our styles mashed and how much joy I got from building character dynamics and whole worlds with you. It is something, I wouldn't want to miss for the world.

Outside of that, I also deeply appreciate you as a person. I appreciate how I can talk with you about everything. Both private irl stuff or just yelling about our muses or some funny thought I had. I love how we have similar values when it comes to creativity, and I love how clear our deep friendship is for both of us, even if we only communicate once every blue moon. It is insane. I hope to remain your friend and that we continue to build some great dynamics and stories with our muses.

Damn, I think we've known each other for over three years now! I think we've started writing together not much after I remade my main blog into a multi-muse, which was at the end of 2019 xD So yeah, we've stuck together for a very long time, despite all the muses and blog changes, which isn't something that happens often at all!

We had some stuff with that other sideblog of yours, with Sander's sides, but you ended up focusing on your Supernatural muses, while I was mostly here, so we didn't write much for a few months! ...Or wait, my bad. We were still writing with each other, on my Constantine blog, till you retired your Nick and Michael muses! So it wasn't as long as I thought at first. But yeah, in any case, we've always found a way to interact together, no matter what, and exactly, on my side too it's because I wanted to keep writing with you, even if our muses came from such different fandoms to start with. I always wanted to find a way, because you're a great RP partner and you're also a dear friend to me! I think that the fact that we're both introverts helps, because we know that we don't have to stay in constant contact to keep our friendship established. We understand the value of giving each other space, while still interacting through RPs or memes.

Thank you! I'm really glad that you enjoy my writing because I know that for your writing is basically a career, so your opinions objectively matters more than others. I always try my best to give lift to my characters and seeing how you do it is really inspiring. You always expand the universe you write in so much, filling up every hole that canon leaves and adding your own personal twist. That's something that I've always admired and that I love to see every time.

I hope to that we'll remain friends for a lot time and keep writing, no matter what fandoms we'll end up in! I'm sure that we'll find a way to make it work xD our past experiences has showed that we can do it!
