November 10, 2023 - Steppe Eagle (Aquila nipalensis) These booted eagles breed in open steppe and semi-desert scrubland across much of central Asia, and winter in parts of southern Asia, the Middle East, and eastern and southern Africa. They hunt small mammals, as well as birds, reptiles, and insects. Breeding from April to June, they build large platform nests from sticks lined with twigs, feathers, and other materials. In Mongolia some nests are constructed almost entirely of bones. Pairs usually nest on the ground but recent habitat changes have led to more nests being built on trees, bushes, and other elevated locations. They are classified as Endangered by the IUCN due primarily to habitat loss caused by agriculture and are also at risk from frequent collisions with power lines.

[https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/1619002] Steppe Eagle || Aquila nipalensis Observed in India Endangered in location of observation
"It was amazing and sad at the same time to see a Steppe Eagle being attacked by two dogs for a piece of meat. With its huge wing span wide open, and powerful talons, Eagle was trying to fend for it's food. Unfortunately the pack tactics worked and dogs were able to steal the piece of meat. Invasion of feral animals is one of the eminent threats that needs to be addressed with priority."

What kind of bird is Azazel associated with?
Description
In the extra-canonical text the Apocalypse of Abraham (c.1st CE), Azazel appears as an unclean bird who came down upon the sacrifice which Abraham prepared. (This is in reference to Genesis 15:11: "Birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away" [NIV]).
The Apocalypse of Abraham describes him as a carrion bird.
Possible Species
Birds of prey or predatory birds, colloquially known as raptors, are hypercarnivorous bird species that actively hunt and feed on other vertebrates (mainly mammals, reptiles and other smaller birds). Although predatory birds primarily hunt live prey, many species (such as fish eagles, vultures and condors) also scavenge and eat carrion.
Birds of prey such as hawks, falcons, eagles, osprey, vultures, and owls are familiar carnivorous birds.
Birds that are regularly known as carrion-eaters include: vultures, buzzards, condors, caracaras, eagles, hawks, crows, ravens, and other large corvids, gulls, skuas, and terns

It is about 62–81 cm (24–32 in) in length and has a wingspan of 1.65–2.15 m (5.4–7.1 ft). Females, weighing 2.3–4.9 kg (5–10.8 lbs), are slightly larger than males, at 2–3.5 kg (4.4–7.7 lbs). Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. It was once considered to be closely related to the non-migratory tawny eagle (Aquila rapax) and the two forms have previously been treated as conspecific. They were split based on pronounced differences in morphology and anatomy (Clark, 1992; Olson, 1994; Sangsteret al., 2002); two molecular studies, each based on a very small number of genes, indicate that the species are distinct but disagree over how closely related they are. The steppe eagle's diet is largely fresh carrion of all kinds, but it will kill rodents and other small mammals up to the size of a hare, and birds up to the size of partridges. It will also steal food from other raptors. (at جال اللياح) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkbE0StKDpe/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
