Anyone wish we were given more of buff/warrior Astrid in the movies? She was made out to be the top warrior of Hiccup’s generation and the model viking in the first movie but was slowly toned down throughout the trilogy. There were multiple fighting scenes in the movies and it would have been interesting to see her fighting style in action other than a hammer throw like in the last movie. Maybe a hand to hand combat with literally anyone would have been sooo good to watch and then imagine Hiccup just gawking and gushing over her omg it’s a neeedddd. That’s literally why I’m writing my hiccstrid fic where Astrid is Berk’s Assassin. It’s such a unique dynamic where we have our warrior queen and Hiccup is the supportive king every hyper independent girl needs.

Hiccstrid is crazy because it's Hiccup "would kill for her" Haddock and Astrid "would die for him" Hofferson, not the other way round.

Yeah in any other case it's Hiccup 'would die for a cause/person' and Astrid 'would kill for cause/person' but when it comes to each other? Hiccup has canonically been ready to kill for Astrid, as in blast-a-man-to-bits with Toothless and let a nearly extinct dragon be slaughtered. And whenever Hiccup is in danger and Astrid is there she's the one who pushes him out of the way, endangering herself. Like with the Death Song, the Light Fury, girl was ready to sacrifice herself for the young chief.

I just think it's cool how much these two love each other they're willing to go farther than they ever would in any other occasion.

Tried to redesign the riders to be a little more believable? … as in convincing but not historically accurate? Tried taking the ac:Valhalla approach, I think they look kinda cool (pls ignore hiccup he was my test & I can’t get him to look any better but this is more abt design than polish I guess)

The helmets were kind of a nightmare and irl Viking’s defo wouldn’t wear any of those designs but I wanted it to still feel like their helmets. Snotlout esp needed his horns they’re too cute I’m sorry.
