as someone who’s only halfway through season 3 of game changer, I gotta say that watching tumblr freak out over the most recent episode is hilarious. Something was Done to Brennan. I have no idea what it was. Everyone’s posting pictures of the most haunted man you’ve ever seen. Sam Reich is playing 3D chess with his friend and employee’s psyche. What did he do? No idea! But everyone was in on it. What “it” was is wholly unclear. This is like seeing something tagged as “#[fandom] spoilers,” deciding to look at it anyway, and being met with a badly photoshopped image of a horse with a nerf gun, and see everyone in the tags go “nooooo!!!! How could you you are EVIL *reblogs anyway*.” By my estimation it’ll be over 2 weeks before I get to this episode. I will live in suspense until then. I am somehow wholly shielded from spoilers. This is the most I’ve seen an episode be talked about without having a clue what the episode actually is.

[TWST AU]: Self-Aware AU, but with logical takes.

[Synopsis]: In this timeline, MC/Yuu/[Y/N] was playing TWST one day and then something off-putting happens.

[TW]: Mild cursing

[(A/N)]: I know. This AU has been done multiple times with most of them being…possessive. I decided to try the concept, but with my own take on it. Also MC/Yuu/[Y/N] is around 16-18 years old in this AU.

MC/Yuu/[Y/N] is just your ordinary gamer who loves the game, Disney: Twisted Wonderland.

They played that game almost everyday ever since it was first released.

They get to experience everything from leveling up the characters (especially their favorites who may or may not be bias towards) to collecting items.

MC/Yuu/[Y/N] fell in love with the storyline and laugh at the humor whenever something ironic and sarcastic happens.

All fun and literal games until one day something happens.

As MC/Yuu/[Y/N] logs into TWST and expected a character greeting them with a gift each day, there wasn’t anybody on the screen.

They thought it’s probably a glitch. It happens.

Shrugging off the weird occurrence, they continue the game as usual, leveling up the characters and winning in battles.

As they were reading through a chapter, something slips up.

Ace Trappola, everyone’s favorite little bastard accidentally mentioned how MC/Yuu/[Y/N] look stupidly cute today with their new haircut.

They freaked out a little.

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: Okay. I may need more sleep or did I hear Ace right about my looks for today?

Ace: *Sweatdrops*

Deuce: *Whispers* Ace, say your line. You’ll blow our cover.

Steph the Alter Nerd is reading Omid’s new book.

Following the live read:

I joined late so Steph was already reading. She was starting the Sophie section. Seriously, why pick on Sophie who just puts her head down and focuses on work? That’s strikes me as unnecessarily vile.

Omid apparently thinks Charles hasn’t modernized the monarchy. Dude is an environmental icon and we now have a blended family in BP. That may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you can’t deny that it’s modern.

Apparently Omid writes pages and pages about Charles’ “leaky pen” incident. It’s just a pen, Omid. Omid thinks this means Charles may not be up to the job, lololol. I’m dying. Mind you, Omid worships Harry who stripped in Vegas, wore a Nazi uniform, and called his fellow soldiers names. But yes, the leaky pen is far more significant than all that, somehow.

Really boring part about government stuff. Charles negotiates and reaches compromises with the government and that’s apparently bad? Also, Charles didn’t know what to expect after he became King??? Lolololol.

Charles lost sympathy for the Harkles after the documentary. Well, duh. We all did, Omid. That documentary was a huge own goal.

He blames the Royal Family for the documentary’s melodrama? Seriously? Who was crying on Oprah? Who was crying in a rented Vancouver mansion with her head wrapped in a towel? Who dropped hot, salty tears on her Hermes blanket? That’s the person responsible for the melodrama.

Anne supposedly kicked them out of Frogmore. I suspect this is fanfiction, but I love it. I want it to be true. This is my headcanon now.

And I do thin fanfiction is the right term for this book. The BRF is super popular right now so the book thesis itself (that the BRF is in trouble) is pretty fantastical.

This book seems very, very boring. Omid seems to be desperately trying to argue that Charles’ first year went badly, but that’s just not reality. Omid used to be better at spinning than this.

Make the Royals Great Again? Uh, that was done in 2011. Everything we are seeing now was planted way back then, down to Kate’s leafy crown. There’s a general lack of both self-awareness and historical awareness in this book. Omid writes like someone who first became a “royal reporter” in 2016…which is exactly what he is. Too bad, because I do think there’s an interesting analysis that could be made regarding 2023 and it’s place in royal pr. That’s above Omid’s pay grade though.

Lol, Omid discusses UK politics and it’s every bit as much of a disaster as one would expect. Stick to gossip, Omid.

Ok, Steph’s hydrating, so let’s step back for a minute and recall what this book was supposed to be. This was to be “Finding Freedom 2.0,” a chronicle of the Harkle post-Megxit success story. The publishers clearly didn’t like that and they made Omid write a book about the family as a whole. That’s because there was no Harkle success story and the publisher didn’t think another Harkle book would sell. Unfortunately, Omid is a Harkle specialist. He can’t write a book about the family (let alone successfully argue for its imminent demise). He simply doesn’t know enough.

Back to Steph. We’re now in Harry’s military service? Er, why? We jumped from 2023 to 2016 and now to the Afghanistan War?

I agree with Steph that Omid’s trying to associate the royals with MAGA and I can’t even articulate how stupid that is. Completely different countries, completely different cultures, completely different iconography. Just doesn’t work.

Now we’re at the Coronation Concert? The royals are in trouble because Elton wasn’t at the concert! Lolololol. The Harkle bubble is out of this world. Basically, if their inner circle wasn’t centered (Oprah, Elton, Omid, etc…), it’s because of a MAGA conspiracy that will bring the royals down.

I feel like I’m grading student briefs. There’s a way to argue this and there is evidence you can cite for this argument, but this isn’t it. You shouldn’t write pages and pages about a leaky pen and then minimize the bags of charity money as “perception.” You should start with the bags of charity money then use the leaky pen to bolster the “perception” argument.

Another disagreement with the government. Aargh! That should be lumped together with the other arguments with the government. Or it shouldn’t be mentioned at all. You’re arguing that Charles is and old-fashioned idiot who is not a good king, so why make him look like someone who is aware of current social issues and engaged with his government?

Breaking news: Catherine’s photo is now “unkilled” but with notation about the edits (the Express)? I need to schedule a chiropractic adjustment; I have whiplash. This nothingburger merely gained Catherine’s pic - which already had, what, over 50 mil views? - even more media attention! You can’t buy this kind of press! (Not that it’s KP/the Wales who are lusting after increased PR attention.) 

PS: If the sm euphemism for “killed”/“died” is “unalived,” would the equivalent of “unkilled” be “un-unalived,” as in C’s pic is now “un-unalived”? Or would it simply revert to “alived”?

Exactly. IMO, they realized how badly they fucked this up and are now trying to walk it back. 

While I don’t know what’s really behind why they’re walking it back and have “unkilled” the photo (and I haven’t really been following the developments closely), my theory is that they realized the wormhole they’ve opened and they’re trying to get that horse back in the barn. There’s now an expectation that they need to evaluate and scrutinize every single photo that enters the media for edits or photoshopping, and certain segments of the public will hold them accountable to it. After all, if you do that for the Prince and Princess of Wales, why can’t you do that for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex? The Kardashians?  The Trumps? The {whover is the hot celeb of the moment}? The {whoever celeb in crisis/recovery PR mode}?

It’s like I said in my original post. This was going to backfire right from the get-go. It doesn’t matter which “side” you’re on or who you think is at fault; it’s backfiring on everyone:

The wire services who rushed to judgment. Now they have to re-evaluate their rules and processes for what qualifies as “too much” editing to be published and their position as a neutral media organization has been questioned.

The reporters who went all “off with their heads” to KP. Now they have to deal with an even-more-standoffish and press-averse Prince and Princess of Wales.

The Sussexes or an associate who tipped an AP source to look at the photo. Now they have to reckon with the Sussexes’ own media being scrutinized for edits.

KP who didn’t respond to the inquiries and questions as soon as they first started coming in. Now they have to deal with even more conspiracy theories.

Now, let’s say that there really were legitimate concerns by the press or the public about the photo being edited. What could they have done instead of going for the nuclear option? A couple of things immediately come to mind:

Privately reached out to KP to ask what was happening and not say anything until they responded. It was the weekend, and a holiday, of course they’re not going to respond immediately. And with the Oscars taking place, the photo would’ve been buried soon enough..

Put a community note or a disclaimer on your publication/posts of the photo explaining your concerns instead of blasting your listserv with “this is fake, take it down.”

Not done anything at all and handle it privately offline with the palace.

But everyone’s made their bed. Now they’ve got to lie in it. But will they?

I haven't forgotten about my Isis painting

Part of me wants SO BADLY to call this quits, give up fully painting, and just call it done with the flats. But an equally sized part of me wants to see this finished because I KNOW I'll feel proud of the result but I want it to just be DONE SO BADLY

I've literally had this painting open in Photoshop in a separate tab while I draw other things for three days. Every now and then I switch to her tab and just stare at her, and she doesn't get anymore done somehow

I did a thing... actually, I did several things. :D My ani-ME (anime doll version) needed manga in her house, so of course I had to make mini Inuyasha manga! I've done this before, but this time it's different... I didn't do miniature versions of the Viz BIG volumes. Nope, I did all 56 original Japanese volumes. Because ani-ME is in Japan, so she must have the original volumes!!! :D What a task this was - because the volumes are so old, it's hard to find high resolution pictures of them online. And even if you do, many times it's just the front, not the back and definitely not the spine. I found some, but then the front and back cover colors were completely different, some had text and graphics cut off from what was most likely a scanned image, the colors were inconsistent between various websites, some colors were clashing badly due to low quality resolution, etc.

So I literally made a template in Photoshop of the real size of the original manga (obtained via Amazon) and rebuilt EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. from scratch. I was able to find a site with all the original cover photos, and then I found the most high resolution cover I could find to duplicate the pattern that's on all books (colors vary), recreated the logo for each book (the character symbols and the gradients are all different for each volume), redrew the SS Comics logo that's on all books, and I even replicated each individual barcode. Because I'm nothing if not a consistent perfectionist. :D

For the backs, I used the images I found and just copied and pasted the characters and Japanese text, and for the teeny tiny characters I used the brush tool to trace over them. Even though I knew you probably wouldn't be able to see them in such a small scale, no way was I leaving them out! Consistency, darn it! :D

For the spines, I found complete sets on eBay and used a photo of the spines from those auctions as a template. I redid everything on the spine except the character head at the top of each, which is copied and pasted from the eBay files. They're definitely pretty low resolution, but hopefully it's not noticeable at such a small scale.

And the volume numbers? Try as I might, I could NOT find a font that matched them. So I got the most high resolution volumes I could find and made number templates... so each time I needed one of the volume numbers, I'd just use a color overlay on it and plop it where it needed to go on the front and spine.

Then the fun part - resizing them all to 1/6 scale. They're a little over an inch tall right now. And because they're not very thick in the spine, wrapping the covers around foam board to mimic pages wasn't working. So I had to make pages... for 56 volumes LOL. I just took my cover template, sized it down, and made it a blank white with a black stroke so I could see where to cut. I could fit 11 mini pages in one row across a regular sized sheet of printer paper (I used cardstock for extra thickness and stability), and I could fit like six rows on a sheet. I was able to fit 11 pages in one volume to allow the spine room, so 56 volumes x 11 mini pages each = 616 total pages I wound up cutting, then stacking and gluing together. But, of course, that wasn't a perfect fit, as the pages, despite being sanded down to be completely straight and smooth, poked out of the covers. So I had to wrap the covers around the pages, mark where they hit, and use an X-acto knife to trim the pages down before gluing them inside the covers.

But finally, I was done! It was time-consuming, but I love how these little books turned out. They don't open, but that's totally okay. That would be way too much work, and every time I make a book that opens, it never closes again. I did, however, manage to find some pages from the original first volume (in Japanese), so I printed a second volume 1 cover and glued those pages inside. So now ani-ME has an open book she can read too!

So there you have it! My mini, 1/6 scale Japanese volumes of Inuyasha - all 56 of them! I made that bookshelf just for them, but I intentionally left more room in case I want to add more manga later. But of course we had to have Inuyasha manga on the shelf - it's the most important! :D And the poster on the wall is totally a tag from one of my shirts LOL.

Another rant yaalllll

Everything is just messed up rn. The girls aren't really talking about the allegations anymore and they are posting on their Twitter like they just didn't drop a big ass bomb ever. They are acting like one of them just wasn't outed for using photoshop,another outed for defending the same rapist/sa'er she was talking about with Percy through the text,another one outed for also defending and follwing the Brycen. And atp it's not even about the s/a allegations anymore its about him being homophobic and racist but he played a gay person and kissed a gay black man in a role and said it himself that he didn't mind kissing boys. Like his nudes are being spread around,Percy is getting called out for saying a slur (as he should) but then 2 out of 3 girls said slurs to?? One said the n word and the other called someone a retard for pointing out stuff doesn't look right. Percy is getting called out for following kink pages but the girls were doing the same thing??? Won't be getting more out of them since apparently they done defending themselves or talking about it so we obviously not gonna get anymore from them but even of we did it would just be more confusing just like everything else is. So what are we supposed to do now?? Cuz ik this isn't gonna blow over and everything is gonna go back to normal. Nothing is ever gonna go back to normal after this.

I'm just so sad that the Xavier x reader hashtags will never be the same now. And imma be honest,I can't imagine anyone else as Xavier BUT Percy idk if that makes me a bad person but I just can't do a different faceclaim which sucks because if I write Xavier with Percy's fc I would get hate for it. More shenanigans at the globes?

So apparently Chris and Abba were at a Golden Globes after party last night. I use apparently because a pic of them with Mads Mikkelsen was posted a couple of hours ago on an Insta account. So the shitshow officially continues...

A change in the PR tactics?

First reaction looking at that pic. Well I think this is the very best pic they have “taken” of the two of them, one where Chris doesn't wear a mask that covers half of his face, where he hides his hand (disappears?) so that we can't see the Arthur fist, where he looks rather healthy, actually smiles and doesn't look like an hostage. We know he and his team lurk on social platforms to see what people write about him. So maybe they just decided on a new course of action for the direction of the PR games for 2024. Maybe it was Chris' new year resolution: to actually make more of an effort to sell it from now on. 

The ending of the shitshow

I have written a few of my thoughts about the ending of this shitshow before. So I will sum them up again. Nobody knows when these PR antics will stop except the protagonists of that shitshow, so people should relax and stop expecting them to be over. I know many mods keep writing this is about to be over. But it’s a lie they have wanted to believe or repeated since the Ghosted premiere. Yes there were many signs over the course of that shitshow when it looked like it was about to be over. But it is part of their MO. I have written about this in my post about the Forbes article.

People just don’t know when it is going to end. But it is very likely to go on for a while. And since he doesn't have anything in the pipelines work-wise, maybe this "RS" is what he needs to promote himself. Also, I personally think that a 4 month marriage would be bad publicity for Chris after marrying a 26 year old who looks like his niece. So people should expect the shenanigans to continue for a while. 

The purposefully badly manufactured PR....

There are obvious issues with that pic. Some mods have pointed them out. Again you might choose to believe that he has the most incompetent team in the business… or the badly manufactured is part of their MO. And I think it's pretty obvious at this point because they have done that over and over. Maybe they were at an after party but messed with the pic on purpose. Or maybe they weren’t even there at all. The point is people get to play the 7 errors game. And it drives traffic for them… which is the whole point of PR antics.

SIDENOTE you can expect (or not) some more proof that they were really there together once tumblr blogs are done pointing out all the bad photoshopping or AI. Once people show how fake the initial sighting seem, some more legitimate evidence sometimes magically pops out to give credibility to the first...

How do your takes on the boys set them apart from others do you think?

I'll be refering to them with their call names in this one

Targe(Killer) is a little difficult to say this for, because I think he's pretty standard. I'll say maybe that it's his loyalty to Nightmare that makes him unique. I haven't seen a lot of people explore that close friendship they have going on, the unwavering loyalty that doesn't often get explained. Killer owes Nightmare his life for rescuing him from his AU. Also, Targe is really, really competent. Scary smart, thinks quickly on his feet, and doesn't let his authority go questioned. He's a fantastic leader, not just a chaos gremlin.

Mote(Dust) is also hard to answer this for since I don't have a ton of other Dust interpretations to go off of. I'd say he's maybe a little more down-to-earth and... present? Than other takes I've seen on him. That he's not so lost in his delusions constantly. They're there, they're integral to his character, but he's also clever and resourceful. He's quiet, but he pays attention. I think I've said before that his character is the one closest still to his canon counterpart-- he's really just Sans who had an infinite run of Really Bad Days.

Haft(Axe) is a lot more chill than other Horrors I've seen. He doesn't regret what he's done at all-- he did what he had to in order to survive, and he's settled whatever guilt he might have had over that fact. He's also still blisteringly smart, and I have seen Horror played to be a little... dim sometimes, which does him an incredible disservice IMO. His 'canon' self (in the HT comic) is still smart, just a really jaded and kind of twisted survivalist. Haft has gone past that and into resolved survivalist. Suvival by whatever means necessary-- he had to defend himself and his brother more times than he cares to admit. Still... he's a big softy under it. He's a kind person at heart, he's just not gonna agonize over doing whatever needs doing. Haft also has a better relationship with food than I've seen portrayed. He's had time to work on it in his service to Nightmare.

Saltire(Cross) gets along with the guys a lot better than other instances of Cross I've seen with the BSG. He's also not as guilt-ridden, as his situation is fairly permanent. He's safe and secure in Nightmare's Hold, he does what he must in order to get by, and all things considered... it's not so bad. He has good food and drink, a nice room, gets to stretch his legs a bit with multiversal jaunts, a dedicated place to train, and a leader who respects and appreciates his capabilities. He's free here. Still, he's pretty withdrawn and takes a long time to trust, especially if someone (Killer) has stung him in the past. Sal... wants to move forward, even though his past weighs him down heavily. He reminds me of a big standoffish white wolf.

Sorpor(Baggs) doesn't have a whole lot different than his source material. I try to write him as close to canon as I can. The most he has that's different is that he's a little taller and knows about the multiverse. The latter can and probably will cause some interesting divergence from his canon timeline, considering he's aware of resets and how they can go (read: really badly). He has perephreral knowledge about some other things that can happen to the underground as well (Flowey, namely-- he wasn't present for the Photoshop Flowey fight, but he heard about it in therapy sessions). I'd say over time he's also gotten a little bit more direct because trying to manipulate the guys into what you want them to do is harder when they'll dance around with you. Straight and to the point gets more results with them, so he becomes a little more forceful. He also sleeps on a fairly regular basis, which makes him much more pleasant to be around constantly.

Umbrose(Nightmare) is fairly standard of the "classy" Nightmare variety. He enjoys his finer luxuries and arts, speaks largely without contractions, and uses big words. He likes to exude elegance and charisma, because while fierce can achieve results, it takes much less energy to simply... coax others into doing what you want. He's had years to chill out from utter violence, so he elects to do things in a fashion that doesn't tire him out consistently. He's also a fantastic leader. He treats all his underlings fairly and sees to it that they want for nothing. Ensuring their loyalty is important to him-- otherwise they could turn on him, and that would be bad. (I have some issues with the more abusive dynamics you see around with the BSG and him. You can only tettorize and threaten your minions into submission for so long before they plan mutiny). He's pretty chill, but no less intense in pursuing what he wants-- he's just smarter about it.

Aubade(Dream) is way more mature than a lot of takes on Dream I've seen around. He is tired. He wants to stop fighting with his brother. He doesn't understand where things went wrong and it eats him. At his core, he is existentially exhausted, but continues to do what he does out of duty. Certainly, he loves his friends and they do make him genuinely happy... but he's so tired, and if you look deeper into his actions, it shows. He also swears. He's not the perfect angel that can do no wrong, and he knows it. There are necessary evils that even the guardian of positivity must do. He's also aware that positivity does not equal goodness, and negativity does not equal badness. He's a little jaded, but understands that balance is a requirement in the multiverse, and so he has to keep doing his job. He's not afraid to take a life or beat someone to a pulp, though he'll issue warnings before he does.

Haboku(Ink) is a little more stable by proxy of being around his friends so much. Dream helps to remind him to take his paints regularly, and Blue will bully him into it if he has to. He's clever, too clever by half. He'll play to someones ignorant perception of him and has no issue letting them continue to think that he's an idiot with the memory of a goldfish and the attention span of a squirrel. He also enjoys stirring shit. He'll cause trouble just to cause it sometimes, but usually is good about not doing anything that will hurt he or his friends. He's fairly dutiful as well, and will protect the multiverse by any means necessary. Any. means. He is otherwise a pretty happy goofball who likes to make sure everyone around him is doing okay. He's honestly a sweet person if you're in good with him. He doesn't like to see unnecessary suffering.

Zaffre(Blue) has a knowledge of the multiverse and has been travelling it for a while. He's of the 'Jaded Blue' variety who tends to help Dream be Ink's leash. Still, he's a very happy guy who loves adventure and loves his friends. He's very passionate. He's no-nonsense. If you mess with what he cares about, gods grant you mercy because he won't. He hasn't killed, but he's certainly beaten a few people within an inch of their life in self defense or in defense of others. He's scary competent, and has a sense of duty to the multiverse much like Dream does. He is, at his core, still a Sans, though, so he is also incredibly intelligent and observant. He also still likes puns and practical jokes, which is not a trait I see applied to Blue very often! He does the whoopee cushion in the hand trick.
