Tomorrow. *presses hands together and inhales*

Tomorrow the final moving pod, that has already been delayed three times due to circumstances beyond my control, that contains things like my ladder (mystery door!), the rest of my clothes, my funko pop collection + other Daredevil collectables, my books, and a box containing the missing halves of all my shoes, FINALLY arrives.

I'm frantically racing around today making room because I still haven't had time to unpack everything yet or find a place for it, especially since little bits and pieces of reno had to be done before I could put things away. I don't even have a closet in my room yet or bookshelves for my books

But.

This moving pod means the moving process, if not the unpacking or reno process, is ALMOST OVER.

GUYS THE END IS IN SIGHT.

#pasta life update #i realize there's still a lot to do #i'll still need to UNPACK the boxes #and some of my things I can't unpack until reno is done #ex: the custom bookshelves that work with my slanted ceiling in my bedroom so I can put my books away #furniture that can't be put in until the new flooring is put in #things like that #but #the hardest part will be done #i will HAVE all my things #and it'll just be a question of putting them away #or finding a spot to put them until the put away area is done #just wait i have more dd stuff too

give kitty a good bath in case that dust contained asbestos be careful!

Definitely being careful! The good news is the guys were laying the new floors down on top of the asbestos tile so it wasn’t ‘disturbed’ and they didn’t remove anything (which according to the inspector is 95% of the time what they do - removing it is dangerous and specialized work; covering it is generally safe). After that, I mopped and swept and dusted repeatedly over the course of about 5 hours, as dust settled, to make sure it was all cleaned up. BUT I did give him a wipedown bath, just in case. Tiny kitty lungs are sensitive. <3

#ask response #i too was worried about the asbestos #it's one reason i wanted the tile covered before any other work was done #no risk now of it being scratched or damaged #inspector said technically it's safe for walking on and all that and is only dangerous if it was cut or removed but STILL #room is much safer now #both for me and for kitties who hang out up there all the time #i feel like half the reno in old houses is going 'oh look a potentially deadly thing we should change that'#*narrows eyes at lead pipes being replaced*#(don't worry have a water filter that filters lead just in case and am having the pipes replaced even if they aren't rusty yet)#(even bought a lead paint testing kit so i can check the paint on the landing in my upstairs bedroom)
