It was a good dream, filled with sensual perfume and flavors, senses normally not commanded by Thrawn’s subconscious.  He stirred, luxurious sheets confining.

The dream’s thread unraveled, trailing a path of warmth through his body.  Blinking awake, Thrawn rolled to his side.

Arihnda Pryce’s bare shoulders peeked above the covers, facing away.  Asleep.  Maybe enjoying her own dreams.

Impulsively, Thrawn slid one arm beneath hers, the other around her waist, wrapping Pryce tightly to his chest. 

“Why’d you wake me?” she murmured.

“Just because,” Thrawn answered, placing a kiss on her nape, then settling his head to share the pillow.

He’s kindhearted, sweet and handsome. He’s devoted and responsible and he’s a good friend. He’s defensive towards his friends and his principles. He likes maths (I do like maths as well)! He’s the best boy in the galaxy and fandom’s most beloved space cowboy 🥰 How can I not love him?

“Your highness…I…”

A gust of air left her lungs as Arihnda raised batting eyes to meet Thrawn’s gaze.  The slight twitch at the edge of his mouth pulled her from the fantasy.

“What is it?” she sighed.  “What’s wrong?” 

Thrawn couldn’t ever carry through the kriffing roleplays she wanted… Her lover tried, he clearly aimed to please, but maybe Chiss just didn’t act out fantasies in the bedroom the way humans did.  Or perhaps the Grand Admiral lacked imagination.

Thrawn laced blue fingers in hers, the smile that had threatened his lips softening into something indulgent, gentle.

“Nothing is wrong.” 

He stepped closer, pressing the back of her hand alongside her bare shoulder. 

“You think it’s silly…”  A flush that was more embarrassment than desire crept along her neck. 

“No.”  A firm shake of his head accompanied the negation.  “I am flattered to act the hero, your Prince…”

“But?”  She knew one was coming.

“But reality satisfies…” 

The tightness in Arihnda’s chest loosened, anxiety melted by the admiring glow of his eyes.  So this was love, maybe.  To be enough for one another. 

“It does,” she agreed, pulling Thrawn into a kiss that would have done any fairy tale proud.

1. How many words have you written this year?

According to AO3, I have posted a grand total of 92,099 words this year! My goal is to break 100K by the end of 2022... and I've still got a few weeks left, including some holiday time off work, and at least one partially-written WIP 😂 I think I can make it! 🤞

19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?

That's a damn good question 😮🤔 If I'm cheating slightly, I really want to finish the Stargate SG1 OT4 team fuck WIP that I started, which is technically a ship I haven't posted yet 😆 (Jack x Daniel x Sam x Teal'c), as well as my Veddie smut. There's a couple ships I'm hoping to get back to a bit or keep going with a little more, like Dreamling, Lokius, and izzykraken.. I keep meaning to write my SWTOR-Fenn with Vector and/or other random NPC characters again, and one of my other own characters 😂🙈

But that is really not "one" pairing is it, oops 😂 Mostly I'm excited to explore whatever random new pairings pop up, grab me by the lapels, and make me go oh 👀 hiiiiii 👀👀
