I desperately need the Thrawn stans (specifically novel Thrawn Stans) to remember that Thrawns whole deal is rebuilding the Empire and fighting the New Republic.
#I see so many people saying Thrawn wouldn't attack the New Republic when that's literally his whole deal.#He's the guy who rebuilds the Empire and attacks the Republic.#The famous story he's in that influenced the rest of Star Wars is about him trying to rebuild the Empire and destroy the Republic.#Also Thrawns evil.#I need you to remember that Thrawns an evil imperialist. His justifications for the Empire are the same as the British Empire used in Afric#Also Thrawns a crap choice to protect the Galaxy from a larger threat.#In Legends he would've lost brutally to the Yuuzhan Vong who were defeated by the Jedi and only ever could've been defeated by the Jedi.#Thrawn is playing military sci-fi in a Faerie Tale world and keeps making the shocked Pikachu expression when the Faerie Tale stuff shows u#The only difference between Thrawns Empire and the Emperors is that Thrawn would build fleets instead of Planet Killers.#In new Canon I think the Jedi would grind the Grysk into the ground before they even captured 3 worlds outside the Unknown Regions.#star wars ahsoka#star wars#grand admiral thrawn#thrawn#ahsoka tano#star wars thrawn#Ahsoka series#The Yuuzhan Vong lost because of a mix of internal revolution and being spread thin militarily#Thrawn would have successfully contained the Yuuzhan Vong invasion for a while but ultimately his forces would've become distracted.#Also the YV would've allied with Rebel Cells providing them their technology and weapons.#Thrawns control of the Empire would further collapse because of all the corrupt officials who would be embezzling funds or resources.#Thrawns fleets would fall into disarray and he'd be assassinated by a YV pretending to be a low ranking Stormtrooper or a slave or somethin#The YV wars were won because the Jedi inspired a religious reformation.#YV versus the Imperials would've led to YV victory.

Ok. Ahsoka Show trailer thoughts:
“War is inevitable. We must destroy in order to create.” Very interesting quote—I assume the thing Thrawn and the rest of the Chiss are trying to ‘create’ is a unified galaxy, which is a much more active approach than they’ve ever taken before. They were fine with waiting out the Galactic Republic’s fall, and they pursued an alliance with the Empire very slowly and carefully, so something big has changed. They’re getting desperate. And yeah, Thrawn is clearly working with the Chiss, the bridge we see him on is very obviously not Imperial.
Ok it seems like these new Sith(?) guys are attacking a New Republic transport of some kind. It looks quite a bit like the prison transport from Mando S1, and given that the Amnesty Program seems to be in charge of it (assuming the scene on the bridge with Elia is the same ship) I think it’s likely that they’re breaking someone out from a top-security transport. Seeing as the ‘We are no Jedi’ scene makes it seem like the Sith(?) got onto the ship by pretending to be Jedi, I’m guessing this is where our mystery Inquisitor comes from
Based on Elia Kane’s reaction to the Sith(?) girl, I don’t think Ahsoka’s group of bad guys are working with the Shadow Council. I think the raid on the prison transport is where the two factions become aware of each other for the first time. However, this throws the Mandalorian’s timeline out of whack—Season 3, where Elia starts working her way up in the Amnesty program, is believed to take place in 11 ABY, but it’s believed that the Ahsoka series takes place in 9 ABY, assumedly right after the end of Mando S2, and I find it very hard to believe that the New Republic gives her command of a prison transport right out of the amnesty program. I’m guessing that this means the Ahsoka Show takes place later than we thought, sometime post Mando S3.
I think that the Sith(?) breakout scene is probably from the very beginning of the show—this is the war Hera is trying to prevent, the Sith(?) returning to fight the New Republic. I think Thrawn doesn’t come in until later. He’s only a rumor so far, and I think the Republic would take him seriously. Plus, I think Hera knows Thrawn well enough to realize that they can’t prevent a war with him if he wants one.
I think that Ahsoka gets dragged into this as one of the only real Light Side users left. The Republic wants to get her help fighting the Sith(?) and, at this point, I think she’s the only one who makes the connection to Thrawn. I think she’s talking to Hera when she says “I started hearing rumors of Thrawn’s return as heir to the Empire”, trying to convince Hera that the Sith(?) are working for/helping Thrawn
Because of this, I’m guessing that Ahsoka brings Sabine back in to help fight the Sith(?) because she’s one of the only other people in the galaxy that has experience with them and that Ahsoka trusts to help her. I think the hints at her being Force-Sensitive are an obvious fakeout—I think it’s likely that, some time post-Endor, Ahsoka was training Sabine with a lightsaber as preparation for going out into the unknown regions, and that’s why she called her ‘master’. The younger Sith(?) explicitly says that ‘Sabine has no power’ after she tries to use the Force, likely out of desperation, so I doubt she’s actually going to be Force-Sensitive. It’s clear that something happened that drove them apart afterwards, which is why Sabine stayed on Lothal so long.
It also seems likely that the return of the Sith(?) leads Ahsoka to realize just how necessary the Jedi are, and to finally reclaim her place as a Jedi, hence the “Warrior. Outcast. Rebel. Jedi.” bit from the first trailer. The inclusion of Huyang makes me think that she’s actively involving herself with Luke’s efforts to rebuild the Order now, and that his thousand plus year-old memory holds some vital information to finding Thrawn, likely involving the ruins from the first trailer and the carving from this one.
Speaking of the carving, it seems I might’ve actually been onto something with this old crack theory. The carving is pretty similar in style to the old Zeffo stuff in Fallen Order, though less well-preserved, but it clearly doesn’t show a Zeffonian. The thing on its chest, however, looks a HELL of a lot like the inner sphere of a Zeffo Astrium, so I still think it’s Zeffo. I’m guessing the figure is a Chiss, and that the Zeffo had some contact with the ancient Chiss, which is how it connects to Thrawn. Based on the old Zeffo message in the Vault that says the last of the Zeffo went ‘into the great unknown’, which has to be the Unknown Regions, I’m guessing that the ruins we see Ahsoka exploring are Zeffo, and that they contain some kind of map to the Unknown Regions that’ll be able to find Thrawn.
Interestingly enough, it doesn’t seem like the Magistrate and Sith(?) are actually working for Thrawn yet—the younger Sith(?) asks what will happen when they find Thrawn, which means that they don’t actually know where he is yet. They’re trying to find him for some kind of nebulous ‘power’ he possesses, but just like Ahsoka, they haven’t found him yet. However, Ahsoka refers to Thrawn as Elsbeth’s master in Mando S2, so it’s likely that she is working directly for him, and I think it’s probable that Thrawn wanted her to recruit the Sith(?) and gave her the location of the ruins as a way to find him afterwards. I’m guessing the Sith are going to fill a similar role to Joruus C’boath from the EU, but since I never finished Heir to the Empire, I can’t say exactly what that is.
The older Sith(?) says that Anakin spoke highly of Ahsoka, and his apprentice has a Padawan braid, which, I’m guessing, means that he was a Jedi who either left or Fell during the Clone Wars, which was why he survived Order 66. Ahsoka also seems to know about him and his connection to Anakin, because she’s not surprised at all that Balan knew him, she just doesn’t want to talk about him. Based on all this, I think Balan is going to try to convince Ahsoka to join him, since she left the Order too. I’m guessing that confronting Balan is what makes her realize that she has to come back to the Jedi Order and stop running from her past.
We see a new message from Ezra, different than the one from the finale, so I guess it was something he recorded earlier. From the subject matter: “when you’re a Jedi, sometimes you have to make the choice that no one else can” and the symbolic hair-cutting right after, he probably recorded it about Kanan’s death—there’s no way he had time to record a whole different message for Sabine. The bit afterwards, “I’m counting on you to see this through” is probably about liberating Lothal, which helps explain why it took so long for Sabine to realize that Ezra wanted her to find him, too. If she found another message telling her that he was counting on her to save Lothal only, then she would have been a lot less likely to consider other implications. Weirdly, this is the only time in the trailer Ezra even comes up, despite the fact that in the Rebels epilogue, Sabine and Ahsoka’s primary objective was to find Ezra, not Thrawn
We see Sabine and Ahsoka flying towards/through a giant statue thing that rises out of an ocean at one point in the trailer, which is probably some kind of piece of Chiss technology, since it doesn’t look like anything we’ve ever seen before. In this scene, Ahsoka’s wearing what looks like a New Republic pilot’s uniform, which is really interesting. We know she’s a pretty good pilot in Clone Wars, but I can’t see her actually going into the New Republic military, which brings up some implications—did she steal it for some reason? Did the New Republic refuse to support them, so they’re working against it too?
Lastly, and absolutely most importantly—this season, at least, takes place before the Rebels Epilogue. There are a couple scenes that very clearly parallel the epilogue, probably to make us think it’s a remake of that scene, but there are a few key differences: when Sabine’s in the comm tower in the end of Rebels, she sees what we can assume to be Ahsoka’s fighter and two x-wings. In Ahsoka, there’s only the fighter. Plus, when she looks up at them in the epilogue, her hair is already short and she’s wearing her armor, while Sabine still has long hair and civilian clothes in the trailer. When Sabine’s on her speeder in Ahsoka, she’s got long hair, her civilian clothes, and is wearing a helmet. In the epilogue, she’s wearing her armor, has hair short, and has no helmet. Also, even after her haircut, Sabine’s hair in Ahsoka is different to the endcard—it doesn’t have shaved sides, is choppy in the back, and is more magenta in color. In Rebels, the hair is more blue-purple, the sides are shaved, and the back is neat, with a hint of the season three lavender near the neck. Sabine also touches the painting of Ezra differently—in the epilogue she taps it twice, closer to the eye, before stroking the cheek, while in the trailer she only strokes the cheek. Lastly, and most importantly, Ahsoka is wearing a gray cloak in the trailer, but in Rebels she has a white one. Dave Filoni directly compared Ahsoka in the Rebels epilogue to Gandalf, and Gandalf wears grey before he wears white. Ahsoka is wearing grey before she can wear white. The Ahsoka Trailer takes place before the Rebels epilogue. I’m guessing that the season will end with an actual remake of the endcard, with Sabine in her proper armor and hair, and Ahsoka having returned to the Jedi, now able to wear white rather than gray. Since Ahsoka S2 isn’t confirmed, this might mean we could get a proper, animated Rebels Sequel following Ahsoka and the epilogue, but, unfortunately, I doubt it, it’ll probably just be Season 2.

Wuko in the comics
Welcome to my first post discussing Wuko in the LoK comic books!
This first post will be discussing Turf Wars- which unfortunately does not feature Wu. But there are lots of excellent Mako moments, and there are some major plot points that carry over into the next comic trilogy.
Tumblr media
Turf Wars is the first LoK comic trilogy released after the finale. Though it was released two and half years after the finale aired, it picks up right where we left off. While the creators confirmed after the finale aired that Korrasami was canon, the last moments of the animated series were a little ambiguous (on purpose, since this was a time when queer representation was just not considered "acceptable" in children's media-it was truly the only way they could get away with it). The comics definitively remove all ambiguity. Turf Wars features multiple frames of Korra and Asami kissing, holding hands, and coming out to their friends and family.
The overarching plot of Turf Wars is a conflict over the land upon which the new spirit portal sets. There is also conflict between rival Triad gangs, the Triple Threats and the Creeping Crystals, over turf in Republic City following the chaos of Kuvira's invasion. These two sets of turf wars overlap when a business tycoon hires the Triple Threats to secure the spirit portal for him by driving others off. The new Leader of the Triple Threats, Tokuga, is attacked by a spirit defending the portal, causing him to gain a dragon-like appearance and a new agenda-seizing control of all Republic City. In the midst of all this there is a refugee crisis, a presidential election, and Korra and Asami trying to navigate their new relationship once they return to the real world with all their responsibilities.
Notable plot points and character developments:
Korra and Asami canon is confirmed (repeatedly)-They come out to family and their friends
Business owner Wonyong Keum, who owns the land upon which the new portal sits, demands everyone vacate so he can turn it into a tourist attraction for profit-prompting Korra to enter the Avatar state to temporarily drive him away.
An unhappy spirit requests Korra closes the portal to prevent exploitation of the spirit world.
Bolin joins Mako as his rookie detective partner.
Zhu Li is running efforts to care for refugees who lost their homes during Kuvira’s attack and teams up with Asami to begin rebuilding homes for everyone displaced.
Tokuga is introduced as the leader of the Triple Threats, fighting for control of the streets with Jargala, the leader of the Creeping Crystals.
Kya reveals she is queer and gives us a history lesson on the context of LGBTQ+ history in the world.
Tokuga is attacked by the afore-mentioned spirit and his right arm and half his face become dragon-esque.
Raiko is a colossal idiot. He is way too focused on getting reelected and making his decisions based on what his campaign advisor suggests, rather than just, you know, governing his city. He calls the military to occupy the portal, prompting the Airbenders to peacefully protest.
Zhu Li runs against Raiko for the presidency. She rallies more protesters to protect the spirit portal while her husband films her for his newest project- a “docu-mover” which he presumably uses to influence the election.
Asami and Keum are kidnapped by Tokuga and forced to make a poison gas device bring the city under Tokuga’s control.
The Krew manages to save the day of course, thanks to Asami’s wit, Korra’s unstoppable stubbornness, and back-up from Bolin and Mako. Except Mako, bless him, says he’ll “take care of Tokuga”, and then promptly loses him.
Tokuga mysteriously disappears into the spirit world.
Zhu Li wins the presidency.
Korra and Asami share a lovely, romantic moment where they exchange their first “I love you”s at the conclusion of the comic.
Mako scenes
There is no Wu in the Turf Wars comics (Unless you count one line of dialogue where it is mentioned that the Earth Kingdom is sending supplies to help the refugee situation) - however, there is plenty of Mako! Mako’s primary role in this series is as a detective trying to find and stop the Triads from waging their turf war in the city.
Our first scenes with Mako shows him back to being a detective- and his brother is his partner. He doesn’t seem super thrilled to be working with Bolin, but I think it’s just because he knows how his brother is- not that he doesn’t want to spend time with him. They are trying to track down the new leader of the triple threats and control gang activity. Mako’s arm is still in a sling, he’s got his usual brooding grumpy facial expression, and his hair is spiky again! He and Bolin arrest two-toed Ping and try to interrogate him. Two-toed Ping is weirdly proud of Mako and Bolin for rising up from being “nobodies” to a couple of “bigtime cops”.
They catch up with Korra and Asami, and the four of them are alerted by Jinora that the Triple threats are attacking the Airbenders that were meditating at the portal. Asami gets hurt in the battle and she and Korra share a kiss in front of everyone:
Tumblr media
Look at Opal’s sweet face. She looks like she’s barely containing her excitement and is maybe squealing a bit, and she’s looking directly at Bolin which I think is a sweet moment to show their relationship. Bolin calls dibs on the first double date.
Tumblr media
Mako probably needs time to process the information....
Mako and Bolin do some detective work to try and find Tokuga. There is an interesting scene where they are questioning Scoochy (We saw him in the first season, he’s the kid that told Korra and Mako the Bolin went to do some work for the triple threats before getting captured by equalists) Bolin tells Mako they should do “good cop, bad cop”, with Bolin being the good cop. Mako gets annoyed, and Bolin asks if he’s grumpy because his exes are dating. Mako insists he’s cool with it- though he’s got a distressed look on his face. They catch up to Scoochy and Bolin actually loses his temper and is rather menacing. Mako pulls Bolin back and genuinely connects with Scoochy- relating to his past, pushing him to do the right thing and help others. I really liked this moment because it shows how much character growth he’s had when you compare the way he treated Kai in season 3. (They are ultimately unsuccessful and Scoochy’s tip leads them to a room rigged with explosives- but I don’t think Scoochy knew that, I think he was fed false info).
There’s another touching scene, after Asami is kidnapped, where Mako notices how upset Korra seems as everyone is trying to form a plan to stop Tokuga. He steps aside to check in and see how she’s feeling. He comforts her’ empathizes with her, and reassures her that they are going to find Asami. At this point he seems to have fully processed that they are together and seems to fully accept it and is very supportive. Not easy considering the awkward position he’s in as both their exes. In this scene, Mako also informs Korra that he can’t firebend with his injured arm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mako and Bolin helps Korra to find Asami by requesting help from Jargala- in spite of the fact that Chief Beifong told them not to… They show up for Korra and Asami even if it means risking their jobs. They team up and fight the bad guys together, just like the old days.
We see many examples of how bad the damage is from Mako’s injury in the Colossus. He can’t bend with his left arm, it’s in a sling almost the whole comic, and he really doesn’t seem to be at the top of his game. He told Bolin he would take care of catching Tokuga, but apparently couldn’t and lost him. Mako’s injury is pretty bad and it’s probably really frustrating.
At the end, Bolin decides to quit the force (surprise. The guy loves to hop from calling to calling!). He makes a big dramatic speech to Mako, talking about how it’s time they go their separate ways. Mako is like “Um I’m going to see you at home in like two hours”, so it sounds like they are living together.
What all this might mean for Wuko
So now I’m going to try to tie things back into how all this affects the potential of Wuko- whether that’s for headcanons or fics or whatever- and just try to give you an idea of what this comic means for Wuko shippers.
Wu is governing in the Earth Kingdom right now. It is mentioned by Zhu Li that the Earth Kingdom sent supplies, so one can assume Wu has taken his place on the throne and the Earth Kingdom is in a stable enough position to be sending supplies to aid another nation. Nothing is mentioned about efforts to transform the Earth Kingdom into a democratic nation (we’ll get to that in the Ruins of the Empire comics).
Mako’s primary relationships that are explored are with his brother and with Korra. His relationship with Bolin is just as it always is. He loves his brother even if he is a little exhausted by his upbeat, enthusiastic attitude. We build up on his final interaction with Korra from the animated series and continue to firmly establish them as friends and amicable exes. Interestingly, we don’t get any meaningful Mako and Asami interactions. When he is comforting Korra, he relates to her by remembering how worried he was when Korra was kidnapped by Amon. He doesn't try to say “Yeah I’m really worried about Asami too”, which, to me is bizarre because he and Asami are friends too, right? I don’t know if we should read too much into it though- most likely it was just a writing choice that we aren’t meant to psycho-analyze- but it could also mean he is being careful with his words so that Korra doesn’t wonder if he still has feelings for Asami. The love triangle is completely resolved and Mako is out of the picture romantically with either of them and has no lingering romantic feelings. In other words, he is 100% ready available for a relationship with someone else.
The scene where Kya gives us a history lesson establishes how LGBTQ+ people are viewed in the world of LoK. In short, Korra and Asami are fully supported by their friends and family, and even their enemies acknowledge their relationship without any homophobic tones. The closest we get to homophobia is Korra's father, who, after expressing his happiness at their relationship, warns Korra to be cautious going forward because not everyone will be as understanding. Kya gives us a quick lesson on how same-gender relationships are viewed across the nations: The water tribe, being a patriarchal culture, expects discretion. The Earth Kingdom is not particularly accepting-Kya says that Avatar Kyoshi was bisexual but couldn't affect "real change" and that the earth kingdom is the slowest to accept change and is also militarily repressive (full disclosure I have not read the Kyoshi comics, maybe there is additional insight in those?). And in the fire nation, Sozin made same-gender relationships illegal when he took power (I hope Zuko undid all that when he became Firelord). The air nation is the only one that seems truly accepting-Kya paints a picture of total acceptance and says that Aang was supportive when she herself came out. Korra is worried that maybe her father was right, but Asami points out that a lot has changed over the years and everyone seems accepting, especially in Republic City.
I think what we can take away from this as far as Wuko goes- is that in Republic City, same-gender relationships are not much of an issue, while in the Earth Kingdom it could be viewed negatively. One could make a case that Wu might have cause to be closeted, while Mako might not. (Feel free to reject this history canon and substitute your own. I’d just as soon say that no one in the avatar-verse cares if you aren’t cis or het).
In conclusion. Mako is just a guy trying very hard to be a good, supportive friend to his exes who are now dating each other. He loves them (platonically) he loves his brother, he’s kind and has matured a lot, but he still always has a grumpy look on his face so it’s time for him to move on and get together with Wu.
Well, that’s Turf Wars. I did cram the plot of three comic books into one post, so I certainly did not hit all the details. If you feel I missed something crucial, feel free to reblog with your own takes. Next I’ll discuss Ruins of the Empire, in which we get lots of Wu and potential Wuko moments, a sizable helping of angst and even some Wu & Korra friendship! RotE is a really fun comic trilogy and I’ll be breaking it down into multiple posts. Thanks for reading everyone!

Ok that was the sequels with the Disney Canon, But MY idea of the sequels would be actually an animated series about Luke’s Jedi Order, it would be basically a Jedi School series with fun adventures and both old and new characters. I know I previously ranted about how I hate both school settings and teenage protagonists but this is different because it’s Jedi School and it’s Star Wars.
So, for this I take what I like from the old canon, other things from the new canon, and drop other things, don’t expect much coherence.
Anyways it’s set about 15 or so years after the Battle of Endor. Things have gotten much better, you know how it goes, the New Republic has grown and the Imperial Remnant are just a fringe junta of all the weirdo warlords of the EU, Han and Leia get married, Lando is chancellor, and Luke marries Mara Jade, because she’s awesome, and rebuilds the Jedi Order.
Since the old method of “kidnapping children” is out for obvious reasons, the Jedi Order functions more like a boarding school or summer camp in Yavin IV. It is much smaller than the prequels order, composed of:
Old masters and survivors to Order 66, like Luke, Mara, Ahsoka, Ezra and a couple others, they try their best but they are ultimately quirky teachers
First generation jedi that were only recently trained like Finn and Rey and still have much to learn
And a whole bunch of Padawans from all ages, species, worlds and backgrounds
The series mostly follows Luke’s son Ben, who is a Very Good Kid with a little of a complex fromhaving such a successful father (and mother) who are praised all over the Galaxy. He’s quiet, shy and isn’t very good with a lightsaber but has a deep connection to the force. He’s friends/rivals with his older cousin Aldera Organa (Han took Leia’s name) who is LOUD, sarcastic, hotheaded, and while overall a good girl WILL cut you up with a lightsaber if given the chance. They’re friends with a pilot jedi padawan from an Andes/Inca inspired world (we haven’t seen that before in Star Wars), a huge Wookiee who plays football (as in the one with foot, not the yanqui version), and a Trandoshan mechanic girl (because they are always shown as villain characters, make them heroes for once). Together, They Fight Crime and we see how they slowly grow from just kids to heroes.
Luke Skywalker meanwhile, tries to be a good teacher. He wakes up every day, drinks his blue milk, and reads pedagogy textbooks to try to become a better teacher, but is very concerned that he’s just winging it all, after all he only got two weeks top of training with Obi-Wan and Yoda included. Everybody assures him it’s okay but he doesn’t believe them. Leia represents the Jedi back at Coruscant, Han trains the New Republic special forces (including New Republic Super Agents Poe Dameron and Rose Tico), Lando is the New Republic Chancellor, R2D2 and C3PO are the official Jedi academy groundskeeper and translator, respectively, and Chewie is just vibing and enjoying his retirement.
Ok, so everything is nice so far. Another year in the Academy starts, all the character meet, Luke and Mara have a parent-teachers reunion, etc. etc. he assures everyone the school is Perfectly Safe, just look at that Togruta lady she has TWO lightsabers isn’t she awesome?
Meanwhile, somewhere in the Galaxy, Han and his Superagents are in a shooting with some aliens who come from outside the Galaxy. They escape in their ship and are headed to the Jedi Academy, Han tries to warn them but the transmission is cut.
So first lessons in the Jedi Academy, Ben is dissapointed that he isn’t as good as a Jedi as the other kids despite being the son of Luke and you know normal school dramas but with lightsabers.
THEN the aliens land. They are like... Vong But Not Really, intergalactic invaders who are able to manipulate and even disconect someone from the Force temporarily, and they are physically very strong. They are a scout team sent ahead of the main fleet to test the strongest force users of the Galaxy and they aren’t very impressed.
They kidnap the children to study them but they escape using Home Alone traps unorthodox tactics. A battle ensues, awesome things happen, Mara blows up their ship so they hide in the jungle at night. The kids are lost in the jungle though, and the Vong close up on them one by one. Just as the leader grabs Ben and does his villain speech, a green lightsaber lights up in the darkness. It's Luke. He gives the Vong leader one chance to free them. The Vong nervously refuse.
Luke Skywalker goes fucking feral on them, Darth-Vader-In-Rogue-One Style, until they finally surrender and free the kids, and then he goes back into Quirky Master mode and asks them all if they are okay. They are, just now are fucking terrified for several reasons.
Nobody is seriously hurt and all the kidnappers are captured so they see little reason to suspend the academic year. They send the Vong prisoners to Coruscant, where Leia resolves to learn more about these invaders before the come, and so the main arc of the series starts, while they fight pirates, bounty hunter, imperial warlords, dark side spirits and all that weird EU stuff, they slowly investigate who the Vong are, what they want and try to prepare for the upcoming invasion.
Other *fun* things that happen include:
Thrawn, who was conspicously absent all this time (though Ezra escaped from him at some point), comes back from the Unknown Regions with his fleet and sees the bunch of jokers leading what remains of the “Empire”. He goes all art student mode and says “hhmmrmm... an empeire need sthe figuer of an empoerer”...
And eventually manuevers over the warlords and crowns himself emperor, and the New Republic has another headache to deal with.
The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda from hit live-action series “The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda Show” appear, he finally found the Jedi after aimlessly wandering the Galaxy, and tearfully entrusts Baby Yoda to them. It’s a babysitting episode where Baby Yoda makes pure CHAOS in the Jedi Academy and eventually the Jedi give him back to Din, telling him to raise him until he’s more mature, much to his delight
Luke organizes a friendly lightsaber tournament to test everybody’s abilities. Ahsoka, Ezra and the rest, who had more lightsaber training than “Obi-Wan teaching me to avoid a floating ball and Yoda making me pile up rocks” wipe the floor with him.
In the villain romance nobody asked for, Thrawn marries admiral Daala in a marriage for convenience and the Jedi are invited to the wedding omg!!! Of course, IT’S A TRAP and the new Imperial couple tell them to serve the rightful galactic goverment, that is, them. And so they crash the wedding instead, it would be hilarious
The kids are majorly concerned about Luke talking to force ghosts and Mara ocassionally repeating orders from a dead Palpatine, and they try to make them get a fucking vacation and therapy for once.
LIFE. DAY. SPECIAL.
Some dark side cultists cloned Palpatine but because he was raised differently in another world he’s just like, an accountant, who gets kidnapped for their dark rituals, and the Jedi have to spend a whole fleet to rescue Some Guy who doesn’t even understand what’s going on.
Of course eventually the Vong invade in full force and the Galaxy is under attack again, the Thrawn Empire has to decide if to follow an old dream of a Sith madman or help the New Republic, and everybody has Choices to make and Tragedy incoming but that’s way in the future to write.
It would be so much fun to have an Jedi Academy series because I’m sure Mark Hamill would LOVE to be casted, the old EU has so much cool things (and stupid crap) to write about, and you have so many characters to make plots and subplots for and make toys and spinoffsHEY DISNEY ARE YOU LISTENING YOU CAN MAKE MONEY WITH THIS YOU BASTARDS

Getting rid of the character Kylo Ren, who do you think would’ve made a good villain/rival for the Sequel Trilogy?
(Okay, I’ve tried to answer this twice now, and Tumblr’s a dick and keeps eating my replies, but here’s hoping the third time’s the charm.)
If we were to get rid of Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, and ignore his counterpart in the Expanded Universe, Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus, who could be a great villain for the sequels…?
Off the top of my head I can think of three big bads from the Legends continuity that would fit the bill perfectly.  Those being Admiral Thrawn and the Empire of the Hand, the Yuuzhan Vong, and Darth Krayt and his One Sith.  All three of those have such a huge presence in the comics and novels and other EU material, but were completely ignored by Katheen Kennedy and Bob Iger in their attempt to craft a new continuity that they have complete control of.
First up we have Mitth'raw'nuruodo, more commonly known as Thrawn.
Tumblr media
A Grand Admiral within the Galactic Empire, which was highly unusual because Thrawn was a member of the Chiss species and the Empire was widely known to be xenophobic and very human-centric.  The fact that an alien rose to such a high position speaks of this man’s ruthlessness and cunning, that even the Emperor himself recognized and rewarded his skills.
Now, the thing that would make Thrawn such a great villain  is that he already has a foothold in canon via the show STAR WARS REBELS, where he was last seen being forcibly taken to the Unknown Regions of space by the purgill.   Since Disney had the First Order emerge from that very same area, it would fit better, and maybe help to bridge Legends and Canon, by having an already well-established villain with roots in the Unknown Regions be the villain that comes from those very same areas.  Hell, in Legends, he formed the Empire of the Hand at the behest or the Emperor to defend the Empire against any threats from the Unknown Regions.
Wouldn’t it make sense to have someone who was already a part of the Empire emerge to try and rebuild it with an almost exact replica of the Empire’s tech?  The use of the star destroyers, TIE fighters and stormtroopers would fit better with him than it did with the First Order, which just comes off as an Empire fanclub.
And with Thrawn, it wouldn’t be too hard to work in a Force-sensitive villain to battle the Jedi, that being Lumiya, the Dark Lady of the Sith.
Tumblr media
She was an apprentice of Darth Vader’s who infiltrated the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and even had a romantic relationship until everything was exposed.  She’d be a great second-in-command to Thrawn and a great enemy to our new Force-sensitive heroes.  Plus, how cool would a light whip be on the big screen?
A further point, we could still use the same new trio, with Finn being a stormtrooper that defects from the Hand, Poe being a pilot with the New Republic and Rey still being a scavenger on Jakku, which sits right af the edge of the Unknown Regions.  It wouldn’t take much at all to adjust the story fo fit this in.
Finale point for Thrawn is the fact that, the whole reason he formed The Hand, and his whole mandate as a member of the Chiss, was to protect against threats, one of which was a species called “the Far Outsiders”, which brings us to...
The Yuuzhan Vong
Tumblr media
I mean, come on, those guys look the part of villains!  Gets even better when you know more about them.  These guys are an extragalactic race of aliens that have an absolute hatred of technology, are immune to the power of the Force, and who worship pain to the point of being masochistic.
On that last point, that’s not a euphemism or a joke.  These guys routinely sacrifice their own limbs and replace them with new ones, or graft alien organs onto their own bodies in an attempt to improve their species, and prove their worthiness to their gods.  Their chief god sacrificed his own flesh to build the universe (according to them) and they feel that they can do nothing less.  That being said, pain doesn’t stop them, only eggs them on, and on top of that, the armor they were is immune to both blasters and lightsabers.  Combine all of that with their Force immunity and they make a very formidable adversary, not just for the New Republic or Jedi, but the galaxy as a whole.
Their whole reason in the Expanded Universe for coming to the galaxy where Star Wars takes place is to “cleanse it” by destroying all technology and letting nature once again rule.  They came very close to it, as well, wiping out entire planets and species before the entire galaxy put aside their differences and united to drive them off.
And once again... they started with the Unknown Regions, attacking the rest of the galaxy from there.
And lastly we have Darth Krayt.
Darth Krayt was once a Jedi Knight named A'Sharad Hett, who was a Tuscan Raider - yeah, those guys from Tatooine - whose father was also a Jedi Knight.  He was a great lightsaber duelist, using two lightsabers (his and his father’s) to great effect, and that’s something we haven’t seen on the big screen, a Jedi or Sith really using two lightsabers, at least not in combat and not for more than a second or two.  It would also be a nice way to tie in the prequel trilogy because Hett served as a general during the Clone Wars and obviously survived both Order 66 and the Great Jedi Purge.
Tumblr media
A nice start down the path to the dark side, wouldn’t you say?
After the fall of the Jedi Order and the Republic (and after Obi-Wan kicked him off of Tatooine), he wandered space until he was caught by, you guessed it, the Yuuzhan Vong.  He was in their “care” for quite a while where he was tortured endlessly with some of their biotech, also running into another fallen Jedi who turned him fully to the Dark Side.  Once he was free, he eventually formed his new order of the One Sith and went about trying to do what all Sith do, such as conquer the galaxy and destroy all the Jedi and stuff like that.
Tumblr media
Any one of those three could have been great villains with already established backstories and fanbases on which to build, but for whatever reason, Lucasfilm and Disney chose the direction they wanted and... well, you’ve seen the results.

been watching a lot of clone wars lately so lol have this random star wars nessian hc obvs before the formation of the galactic empire
nesta is a jedi master
nesta is known to show bravery on the field already commanded a legion of troopers to take down 4 separatists strongholds
but also having a cold exterior which many mistake for rudeness but even her men know that she’s do anything to protect them and the innocent
she’s assigned to onderon for a status update on the rebuilding of the city and their new relationship with the Republic
there she meets the new captain of their rebel force, cassian
ever the handsome tanned warrior with a strong build and blinding smile
smug brute is more like it
showing off the latest battle formations he created and machinery for any pending separatist attack
also calling her sweetheart which earns him a steely glare
her clone troopers always grimace when cassian strolls by bc there was bound to be an onslaught between the two
cassian constantly tries to catch nesta in the middle of her meditations to catch her off guard
it usually ends up with him hanging upside down 5ft in the air, while she maintains her meditation
‘okay geez! sorry...nes.”
she lets him plummet to the ground with an oof
then she gets a transmission from the jedi council that the separatists are planning an attack to take back the city and reestablish supply lines
cassian and nesta immediately get to work to hatch a plan for the assault
nesta has yet to see cassian in a serious atmosphere but he comes up with a solid plan knowing the structure of the city.
she notices how deep his eyebrows furrow when he’s thinking, how his calloused hands glide over his sharp jawline-
focus she tells herself
with the help of the republic, more clone troopers descend on onderon to aide them
cassian leads the charge as tanks of separatists battle droids try to break through the city’s gates
nesta is right beside him as they break through. using her lightsaber to deflect shots.
cassian’s rebel forces use their jet pack equipment to dominate the skies and push the droids further away from the city
meanwhile nesta leading her clone troopers on the ground slashing through the droid army
victory is near right when nesta feels a disturbance and looks towards the horizons where a separatists fleet of ships have arrived.
instinctively she looked up towards cassian. ‘FALL BACK CAPTAIN’ she yelled not sure if he could hear her through the mess
but he did. his dark brown eyes met hers from so far away but she felt his attention on her.
he commanded his forces to retreat and regroup with her troopers.
nesta was relieved when she felt his life force closing the distance between them.
she called for republic air support who drove off the fleet.
and tried to ignore the comfort in seeing him unharmed, still smiling from ear to ear
‘worried about me, sweetheart?’
she gritted her teeth and hopefully tries to calm her nerves before she started blushing. oh gods not in front of her men.
‘battles not over yet, general.’ said one of her troopers as he pointed towards the droids beginning to push to the gates again.
‘let’s finish this.’ nesta said nodding towards cassian who switched back to battle mode, preparing to take the skies again
her clone troops and his rebel forces continued to successfully drive the battle droids back to their ships where they finally retreated
‘ill ensure the council that onderon is safe, captain.’
the battle was won, the city’s walls would need rebuilding but the assault will drive away the separatists for awhile now.
‘or you can come and check up on us anytime you like.’ he added with a wink.
she scoffed but let her mouth slip into a small smile
‘that’s up to the jedi council.’
‘or you can give me your comlink’ he suggested with genuine hope
a jedi must not have attachments her masters voice rang through her head
‘im afraid that’s classified captain.’ she said as she climbed aboard her ship
cassian, a bit disappointed, only shrugged ‘a guy can only try’
she waved him off ‘stay safe cassian.’
‘you too nesta.’

Rise of Skywalker should’ve been the entire trilogy.
Allow me to explain: Opening crawl to Force Awakens: The emperor is dead! The New Republic has enjoyed twenty years of peace and rebuilding after the Battle of Endor under the leadership of Galactic Minister Leia Organa. But, on the eve of her resignation, a voice from the past has been broadcast across the galaxy. The First Order, a group of Empire loyalist, has been waiting in the shadows for just this broadcast. Uprisings across the galaxy have erupting and the new peace has been threatened. With Luke Skywalker missing, Leia sends one team to find her brother and another to find the source of the broadcast. Poe Dameron, the Republic’s best pilot, heads to the planet of Jakku where an old Republic friend has information on Skywalker’s whereabouts.  *End Crawl* The beginning of Force Awakens opens pretty much the same. Poe locates Old Guy, gets the information and gives it to BB8, then gets captured. Finn questions his position in the First Order. Kylo is introduced, as is the First Order’s harsh nature. The village isn’t ready for an attack and maybe there’s a throw-away line about “peace”.  Finn’s scene reveals old stormtrooper tactics are still being conducted with the First Order. Poe should say something like “The Republic has outlawed kidnapping children” or something. Maybe he’s also surprised to see so many storm troopers. It should be evident that This Doesn’t Happen Anymore and is another thing for Finn to think about (”if it doesn’t happen, why did it happen to me? Where do I come from? Why am I doing this?”). They escape and crash.  Rey is introduced the same too. She’s an orphan living alone in the scraps of the Empire, trying to survive. She meets BB8, property of the Republic and wonders why a Republic droid is this far from the galaxy capital. Finn finds her and they escape in a ship that isn’t the Falcon.  They start to get boarded by a Ship We Don’t See and panic, thinking it’s the First Order hunting them. It’s actually Han Solo and the falcon. He returned to smuggling but heard a plea for help from the Republic. Rey questions why he’s not with his wife but he deflects the question, saying something like he’s “not one for politics” or maybe “peace doesn’t pay the bills”.  MEANWHILE, Kylo is angry the pilot and droid got away, as he’s also trying to find Skywalker. He asks to hear the broadcast and it’s revealed that it’s Palpatine’s voice declaring ownership of the galaxy and for the loyalist to rise up. He demands any new leads, of which there are none. It’s revealed that the First Order has been decades in the making, even during the Empire should it fall. His character is very much revealed as ruthless and has something to prove.  Han takes the kids to a remote “safe spot” where smugglers, bounty hunters and other criminal frequent. This is where Maz is. She’s force-sensitive, but not a Jedi and says something like “The Jedi weren’t responsible for peace but for war” or SOMETHING to open the line of questioning about the past republic system. Rey says she feels something here, something she never felt on Jakku. “They say no one remembers Jakku, not even the Force” or something to indicate maybe the Force is “blocked” or something. This would later give reason to Rey being left there ( abandon a force-sensitive girl on a force-void planet. Also, Luke leaving any information being left of Jakku would also make sense. Who looks for a Jedi on a planet where he can’t use his power. Also, it could be an old Sith Planet. Have a line about “the Jedi never went to Jakku. It’s history with the sith make it unbalanced with the Force”. That would leave it open for guessing what happened there before while still explaining that Jakku was not a planet people went to.) If you really want to stay true to the movie, stick with the First Order having a Death Star planet-destroyer ray. This would make sense because they want to RULE THE GALAXY AGAIN and this is a time of peace. So they DESTROY the New Republic. There’s a moment of fear for Han and gang about Leia. The First Order then attacks Maz’s place for the droid and we get the same results.  You can end the movie the exact same way. We find our Kylo is Han’s son, Han dies. Leia is fine, steps down as leader of the Republic but into the role of general again. (Afterall, the ENTIRE REPUBLIC was just terribly attacked. It’s war for the first time in two decades.)  On the ship, Rey should discover the broadcast. Maybe this is the first time we hear it and someone says “That’s the Emperor. But he’s dead” or something. Or she SEEMS to recognize the voice but doesn’t say anything. Either way, Rey is then directly connected to what’s going on with the galaxy. For the first time in her life, she’s directly involved with the fate of the galaxy.  It ends with Leia getting the information about where Luke is and Kylo getting a clue on where the Emperor’s broadcast came from. Rey finds Luke, Kylo finds... a sinister planet. Basically, the beginning of Rise of Skywalker is the ending of Force Awakens. We don’t see who Kylo finds, adding drama and suspense. Maybe we have the line “I have been the voice inside your head this whole time” and the Emperor’s laugh but we shouldn’t see him. Cue- The Last Jedi Leia and co are under attack by the First Order. The galaxy is in chaos with the destruction of the Republic Capital. The Galactic Minister that was supposed to take over for Leia is MIA and so Leia is forced to do both politics AND battle strategy. Someone offhandedly makes a comment about how “this is how the Emperor got his power last time.” Therefore, doubt is being cast on the New Republic and Leia in general. Conflict! Drama! Last Jedi happens the same with Rey and Luke, revealing he left the “Jedi” after failing to restart the Jedi Order. We learn that Kylo/Ben was a failed student and he couldn’t face his sister and brother in law afterwards. Again, this reflects on the prequeals (not that anyone wants to connect to that) and criticizes them for what they did before (took children from their homes/families, rallied hard against the sith and threw the galaxy into way. It’s a great way to criticize the prequeals while actually giving them A Point, yknow?) HOWEVER, the space race with Leia, Poe and Finn doesn’t happen. Or rather, it does but not for the entire movie. They try to outrun the First Order ships to get to a safe point. Poe is frustrated with the chain of command not saying anything to anyone and tries to mutiny under the guise of Leia being incapacitated during a firing attack and rumors on the ship that people INSIDE THE REPUBLIC are trying to restart the Empire. Finn attempts to leave to find out where he came from but is stopped by Rose, thinking he’s a deserter. She traps him and Poe comes to find them, talks about the mutiny. Rose, having just lost a sister from the First Order attack, is horrified to hear it might be an inside job and agrees to the mutiny to get answers. Finn realizes Poe, his first ever “friend” is asking for his help and agrees to stay and support him.  Leia wakes up in time to stop the “mutiny”. It’s revealed they’re heading to a secret Rebellion base, used during the wars that no one but Leia and Holdo knows about. But, she agrees, someone is helping the First Order track them through hyperspace. She turns to Finn and for a horrifying moment, everyone believes HE’s THE SPY.  Storm troopers have implanted tracking chips, Leia explains. It’s been outlawed in the New Republic but the Empire used tracking chips to ensure absolute loyalty. She asks Finn if he knew. He didn’t. He agrees to undergo an surgery to remove the chip and it’s clear in his face he’s reflecting on the idea of continuing to help the First Order even after rebelling. He’s been a tool his whole life and can’t escape it.  The tracking device is removed and the Republic makes for the hidden base. Meanwhile, confrontation on the main First Order ship with Rey, who came from Luke’s planet and Kylo. Kylo, with the whole movie “seeing” her, is trying to get her to rebel. She shows up, dedicated to “save him” but Kylo reveals she knows who she is. “You’re a Palpatine” he says, as the reveal. “You belong to the dark side. We KNOW how to run the galaxy so no child is parent-less again.” Rey refuses and she’s faced with a room full of guards and Kylo. Kylo orders her to be let free but Hux, being as he’s been (the Tarkin character) orders them both dead (BETRAYAL!!) Rey finds herself fighting along side Kylo and, even thought she failed to save him, she’s not sure he’s beyond redemption.  However, her own reveal is haunting her. The republic has gained safety in the hidden base. But then! The First Order shows up. Finn yells it’s not him (funny moment) and of course not but how did they know about the base?! Oh no!  Finn runs a suicide run to defeat the first order from destroying Leia and the remaining acting government? But Rose stops Finn from sacrificing himself with a message more like “you were raised for evil, but you deserve good.” instead of her stupid protest. This is stating to Finn “YOU ARE VALUED BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN GIVE” I don’t even know what to fill in for the casino scene. Maybe Finn and Rose going to a more Republic town that talks about the differences between the Republic and Empire, something that skews the line so that it reveals citizens are confused from propaganda on both sides and the role of the Empire is just a “concept” to younger people. It’s a great metaphor for WWII. Also reflects how you “can’t trust the government, can’t trust the Jedi” mentality. It’s refreshing for Star Wars fans while also being politically correct. There’s no right or wrong about the message so it still works in the Disney family.  ANYWAY. Last Jedi ends with Rey saying she needs more training and Leia smiling. Even though Luke is gone, Leia has the means and desire to train Rey. “As a Jedi?” “As a promoter of peace” again to reiterate that the Jedi are DEAD as is their belief. In the next movie, we’ll see more of that. Also, it should be revealed by LUKE, that he is not the last Jedi, but Leia is. It’s probably revealed by him when Rey heads out to help the Republic. She asks Luke to take on his position, “Be a Jedi!” but he reveals. “I am not a Jedi. The path of Jedi was peace. I never was. Leia, she’s the jedi.” This reveals that Leia is the last Jedi and maybe the “past training” montage takes place in Last Jedi. Anyway, Leia is revealed as the Last Jedi.  During Rise of Skywalker, Rey is trying to find the evil behind Kylo, aka Palpatine. So she is searching for the Sith Planet. This leaves her a bit MIA while Finn and Poe try to find more information on the First Order. Especially because the New Republic is in desperate need of help since the government is destroyed.  Basically, the Last Jedi ends with on the idea that “the New Republic is dead thanks to attack, propaganda and doubt of the government. Stakes!!! Anyway, Leia says they need to find the source of the “First Order” and rey is off to search, all the while Kylo is starting to question his position (like FINN!!!) but Palpatine tries to use his parent’s transgressions to keep him loyal. (It also starts weighing on him, like Rey, like maybe he’s just being the tool he was trying to avoid being for the Jedi, but only for the Sith.) Rey tries to find a “wayfinder” from the first movie, leads her to the Death Star Crash Site. Finn meets fellow Storm Troopers who have rebelled and made their life on their own. He learns from them that it’s not important where you came from, or what you did, but what you strive to do.  Leia dies trying to reach Ben and Poe gets notification that he’s the new LEADER OF THE REPUBLIC, like, not just the general but LEADER. He struggles to understand what that means. He’s been impulsive in the past and has learned politics through the mutiny so he’s not confident with his position.  Maybe before Rey leaves, she says something like “power belongs to those that don’t want it” or something, bc she’s thinking about being a Palpatine” while Finn says “You were kind to an enemy, you’ve got my vote” or something to indicate that Poe believes in kindness over enforcement (reflecting on the mutiny)  The galxy coming together to fight against the First Order/Palpatine in the end would mean more. That the galaxy fights for Peace, for the Republic would be a great moment after all those moments of doubt and manipulation. Palpatine would be defeated again by the REPUBLIC, by people that believed in the good of other people. Rey would still have a whole conflict about her “heritage of evil” while Kylo would have a full teenage rebellion arch. Basically, Kylo would eventually be redeemed like the Star Wars way while Rey succumbed more and more into darkness and hate (My parents SOLD ME, I’m the granddaughter of the EMPEROR, I mean nothing but my power)  WHAT THIS ACCOMPLISHES: The ending isn’t rushed. Palpatine isn’t “oh hey, he’s alive” but instead a questionable option throughout three movies. It also expands on the lore of Star Wars with the Sith stuff and hopefully explains why certain people are more adapt at the Force (Palpatine explains his bloodline is PURE and maybe he created the Skywalker bloodline so they have a link. Or whatever they deiced to do. Maybe it’s “Skywalker was pure of Force, so I had to create my own” or something. Make the lore interesting, especially since they destroyed all of it, bastards.) Anyway, Kylo’s sacrifice MEANS something, because Rey was the first person he felt believed in him. Palpatine wasn’t a random “Oh btw, i’ve been here all along!” And the New Republic wasn’t disregarded but heavily scrutinized to create a better galaxy. It really explains the aftermath of the Empire without staying in the status quo. It doesn’t disregard what the original trilogy did but expands on it. It also unites the mistakes of the Prequels to a tangible ending.  Also.... The Emperor makes so much sense, though the daughter/son should’ve been a lot older. Maybe make Rey a Great Granddaughter. Because family life in an important stance for politics, so “Senator Palpatine” would be totally more believable to have a family. Maybe we didn’t see it but I think it’s okay to say that he had a wife. A flashback about his SON, who wanted nothing to do with politics, would explain why he wasn’t evident in the prequels but also the idea of Rey being abandoned. “No one escaped the Emperor, not even his Son.” With the dialogue of the Rise of Skywalker, he didn’t give a shit that she was family except that she could give him a new body, like Voldemort.” Anyway, the “Final Order” is just an old “Empire” plot Palpatine has been saving and building. It’s not that each star destroyer has the means to destroy planets but that the Republic is so vulnerable right now. This is a sinister enough plot because not only are they the reason the New Republic has failed but they are also causing strife and doubt about the New Republic not being better than the Empire.  Also, you have Rey struggle with Power vs. Corruption and then removes herself from the galaxy. You also have Leia being the Last Jedi, as intended, even though she put away her lightsaber for the galaxy.  You also have the answers to the important plot questions:  1. Why is this happening NOW (bc the changing of the guard for the New Republic is a great time to sow distrust and propaganda) 2. Why are these characters important to the plot (Because Rey is the grand/great grand daughter of the last Emperor, Ben is the son of the ruling figure, Poe is a great man in line for the “throne”/leadership and Finn is a victim of the wars/ a regular joe shmoe that could change the war” 3. What do your characters want? (Rey wants to be part of something, learn where she comes from; Finn wants to understand why he’s here and what he has to offer; Poe wants to do the right thing) 4. What’s the conflict in the story? (Rey learns she could destroy the Republic and her search may have put everyone she’s grown to love in jeopardy; Finn has to reconciling being a pawn in way with being a PERSON to make a choice and what that means for his identity; Poe is battling the “do everything for good” mentality with his past mistakes and questioning how “good he really is.) Overall, all three of the “trio” teach us about choices, destiny, upbringing and that doing what’s RIGHT is a choice. Which is the main goal for Star Wars. Luke was the son of the most ruthless dictator and he fought against temptation. Anakin loved more than any Jedi and it lead to him choosing Her over EVERYTHING ELSE. Palpatine represents complete temptation and power.

I’ll Come Back For You Part 1
Poe Dameron x Reader
Summary: Y/N is the adopted daughter of Leia and Han Solo. When she is sent on an important mission with Poe Dameron, she sees someone she never thought she would see again.
Warnings: Mentions of death, violence.
A/N: Hi everyone! SO I decided to rewrite this series as I was honestly shocked at how my writing was when I first started lol. I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as you all had before.
Tumblr media
Sitting closely to your fellow partner, you watched as he was handed the very thing that could change the outcome of the battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Specially chosen by the General herself, you and Poe Dameron were sent on a mission to obtain the last piece of a map that led to where Luke Skywalker was.
To say that you both were capable of handling this mission, which you both knew could end badly, was an understatement. Poe was the best pilot in the Resistance and you were a skilled intelligence officer—as well as the General’s adopted daughter.
When you were just a baby, there was an attack by the remnants of the Empire that happened where you were living. Han Solo arrived in search of survivors when he heard your crying and found you bundled up in a little blue blanket. After searching for your parents and finding out they had been killed in crossfire, he couldn’t help but feel sorry for you and decided to take you to Chandrila, where Leia was taking care of their two year old son, Ben.
It didn’t take long for Leia and Han to accept you as their own, and for Ben to adore you as his younger sister. As you got older, your parents focused mainly on the rebuilding of the New Republic, and you could see that Ben took it harder than you did. While your mother sent Ben to train with her brother, you stayed behind and decided you wanted to be a member of the Resistance—which is how you met Poe.
Ever since the two of you met, you were often paired off with one another for missions. At first, there were many disagreements on how a mission should go, which led to many close calls in which one of you would usually come back battered and bruised. As you two became more familiar with each other, you became very close, which eventually led to the both of you developing feelings for one another, but refusing to say anything to one another.
Lor San Tekka squeezed Poe’s hand and smiled,
“This will begin to make things right. I’ve traveled too far and seen too much to ignore the despair in the galaxy.” He pulled away, leaving you and Poe staring at theremaining piece of the map, “Without the Jedi, there can be no balance in the Force.”
“Well, because of you, now we have a chance.” Poe stated.
You grabbed Lor San Tekka’s hand and smiled, “Yes, thank you for this. The Resistance can now finally stop the First Order from causing any more harm. The General has been searching for this for a long time.” Lor San Tekka smiled back.
“Oh, the General? To me,” he winked, “she and you are both royalty, my dear Y/N.”
Poe chuckled softly and say, “Well, they both certainly are.”
Before you could reply with a witty comment, Poe’s droid, BB-8, came crashing through, chirping rather quickly. Taking in a breath, you looked over at Poe.
“We’ve got company,” Poe said in a low voice.
Poe stood up quickly and stepped outside, with you and Lor San Tekka following behind. Poe was already looking in the distance with his quadnocs as you stood next to him, placing a hand on his arm.
The villagers were all running for cover, yelling orders at one another. From afar, you could see lights from what you deduced were First Order ships coming closer to the village.
“You have to hide,” Poe murmured.
“You have to leave.”
You turned to look at the old man and felt your heart drop as you grabbed his hand.
“Come with us,” you begged, “it’s not safe for you here.”
Lor San Tekka looked at you with sad eyes and smiled, “My dear, it is not my place to come with you. I would only slow the both of you down.”
“But-“you felt someone grab your arm and you turned to look up at Poe as he nodded to you, his eyes also showing a hint of sadness.
Turning back to Lor San Tekka, you lowered your head as you released his hand and pulled him in for a quick embrace, which he returned.
“You need to go, Y/N.”
Pulling away, you glanced back at Poe and nodded that you were ready. The both of you began running back for the tandem X-Wing you came in.
Behind you, a bell begin to ring and you were also able to hear the First Order ships getting closer. As you ran past them, you saw all of the villagers grabbing their weapons and taking cover.
A small part of you wished that you could stay behind and help, but you knew that if the First Order obtained the missing piece of the map, that it would make things worse than it already was.
Blasters began to go off and you knew that the First Order had arrived. Hearing the villagers screaming only made you feel worse, but you pushed yourself to run faster.
“C’mon slowpoke and BB-8, hurry!”
You huffed angrily and yelled back, “You are choosing now to make fun of me? You are so going to get it when we get back to the base, Dameron.”
Poe began to laugh—with BB-8 chirping— as you punched him in the arm when the both of you arrived to the X-Wing. Poe helped you into the X-Wing, ushering you to hurry, and when he knew you were inside safely, he followed inside.
Poe started the engine and as soon as you had put your helmet on, the ship began to shake harshly as it was hit from some blasters. You groaned.
“Hello Mr. I’m The Best Pilot in the Resistance? Are you ever going to shoot at the Troopers?”
“Yeah, yeah, I see them Y/N/N,” he stated as he pulled up the blasters from the ship and shot back at the Troopers.
When the coast was clear, Poe exited the X-Wing and you quickly threw off your helmet as you climbed out to follow him. Poe was examining the X-Wing when you ran up and you sighed when you saw how much damage it had took.
The screams of the villagers began to intensify and you turned around, only to see them become overrun by the Storm Troopers. Smoke had surrounded you as the houses were being burned down and that was when you couldn’t stand to be there any longer.
“We have to help them Poe!” Before you could turn off to help, Poe grabbed your arm and shook his head.
BB-8 rolled next to you and Poe brought you down with him as he handed you the piece of the map. He looked between the both of you.
“You take this. It’s safer with the both of you than it is with me.”
“No,” you began to shake your head, “Poe I am going to help you.”
“You and BB-8 are the Resistance’s chance at surviving right now, Y/N. You both need to get as far as you can from here okay?” He glanced down at BB-8, “Do you hear me?”
You tried to object once more, but Poe merely ignored your request as he embraced you in his arms.
“I’ll come back for you,” he whispered before placing a soft kiss upon your cheek, causing your heart to race.
Poe pulled away and gave you that sideways smirk that he always gave you before he took off running, his blaster in tow. You looked down at BB-8 and motioned for him to follow you before you ran away in the opposite direction.
Gaining quite a bit of distance from the village, you suddenly began to slow down as a heavy weight began to overcome your body. The village, you noticed, was now silent and you couldn’t help but worry for the villagers and Poe. BB-8 bumped into your leg, chirping at you with concern, and you knelt down in front of him.
“BB-8 you have to take this,” you handed the droid the map, “I need to go help Poe.” The droid tried to argue with you but you stopped him.
“We will come back for you, don’t worry BB-8. Now go, please.” BB-8 beeped sadly, but obeyed you and began to roll away into the dark of the sand hills.
You waited until he was no longer in your sight before you ran for the village. The weight that you had felt had begun to feel stronger and darker as you got closer to the village.
Hiding behind a boulder, you gasped quietly as you saw Lor San Tekka’s final moments as he was killed by a tall, dark figure with a lightsaber. Your heart dropped as you recognized whose lightsaber that was. You hadn’t seen your brother in so long—seeing him here only made you feel worse.
Suddenly, a blaster shot off but before it could even come close to hitting your brother, he threw his hand out and stopped the blast in midair. Turning your head, you saw Poe in front of you, standing up as if something was holding him back.
Typical Dameron, you thought, always trying to save the day.
Two Troopers grabbed onto Poe and took him to face your brother. After a short conversation, they began to lift Poe up and walk him back to one of the ships.
Then, the Troopers lifted up their blasters to kill the remaining villagers that they had grouped up. Before you could stop yourself, you shot up and ran towards them.
“No! Stop!” Before you could lift up your blaster, something stopped you in place.
Trying to fight the invisible force that was holding you back, you could only watch as the one who caused this was looking down on you.
“It’s been a long time, little sister,” said the robotic voice of Kylo Ren, “I have truly missed you.” You   scoffed.
“Oh, really? Hard to tell when you use your stupid Force powers on me and harm the people I care about!”
Kylo Ren started to circle around you, “And you are still as stubborn as the day I left you. Disobeying direct orders from your Commander? So like you.” You swallowed and clenched your jaw.
“If you hurt him I swear that I will—“
“Interesting,” he interrupted, “the both of you were given the map to Luke Skywalker.”
“I have told you before to stay out of my head, Ben!”
“Ben is no more, little sister,” he stood in front of you, “now tell me where the map is.”
“You’re going to have to do better than that to get what you want from me, Ben,” you said, glaring at him.
“Very well,” he started to walk to the side of you and the last thing you heard before blacking out was Poe yelling out for you.

✕ … oscar isaac … poe dameron: now arriving in coruscant. he stands with the resistance and is 34 years old according to their chart. past records show that they are known to be reckless and charming, so tread with caution since they are still a pilot from yavin 4 …
Hi guys! I’m Sloane and glad I finally found a star wars group. I’ve been role playing forever but never on tumblr, so please be patient, I’m figuring everything out as I go. Anyways, I’m sure everyone knows most of this, but let me introduce my son...
born in 2 ABY to kes dameron and shara bey in the middle of the war against the empire, poe was left on yavin 4 to be raised by his grandparents for the first two years of his life while his parents saw to make sure the empire was defeated. when his parents returned home, poe grew close to his mom while they lived on the new ranch his parents had built.
he was first 'taught' to fly by his mom when he was a kid, but after her death when poe was eight he began taking up lessons with his adoptive uncle l'ulo, a former rebellion pilot who had served with his mom. even so, after his mom's death poe became somewhat closed off, and hid his feelings, especially considering the grief his dad was in.
he joined the new republic flight academy as soon as he was of age, graduating near the top of his class and subsequently being recruited into the new republic defense fleet. there he rose to gain the rank of commander to rapier squadron. all was well until poe was faced with the rising power of the first order head on- and the fact that the new republic was choosing to ignore the threat. in a raid against the yissira zyde, poe lost one of his pilots, and closest friend to the first order, which became a major influence for him to defect to the resistance.
he was approached by leia organa after the crisis to join the resistance, keeping his rank and being given command over the two squadrons at the resistance's disposal. he held some ties with the new republic for awhile, allowing poe to keep his allegiance with the resistance secret for some time from the first order. however upon the time he actually defected, with the belief that the new republic no longer had their citizens best interest in mind, he stole his ship and relocated to the d'qar base with two other members of rapier squadron.
fast forward to after starkiller and crait- poe hasn't really rested since those two fights. he still faces residual nightmares and low end panic attacks from the torture he underwent at the hands of kylo ren, and holds an enormous amount of grief from the loss they experienced fighting the dreadnaught. the number of deaths caused by his recklessness continue to bother him to this day.however, after the resistance was able to recover to some degree, he was reinstated as commander, despite the fact that poe didn't think he should be. he had disobeyed direct orders, started a mutiny, and all around deserved to be kicked out.
anyways, since then, poe's helped train new recruits that have joined, and was stationed at the new main base on coruscant to continue training the fleet. since the forcefield went up, however, his own jobs have been more focused on collecting information and rebuilding the scrapyards of ships given to them. as for the resurrections? he's glad to see former friends, pilots, mentors, and others again, but he only really manages to feel more guilty about his actions as more of the people lost because of him are revived.
hmu if you want to plot!

Star Wars Has Always Been Political.
I’m always so baffled when some jabrony looks me right in the face and tells me “stop trying to make Star Wars political, it’s never been political!!!” And then I have the absolute pleasure of telling him that Star Wars has always, and will always, be political.  Here’s the thing, Star Wars THRIVES off of whatever the current political climate is.
So let’s go on a journey shall we? Through god-awful prequels, the gift that is young Harrison Ford and how Oscar Isaac is ready to fight Disney single handedly to make Poe gay.
A New Hope/The Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi
Let’s kick this shit off with the OG movies. When these movies came out, people were so excited. Here was a film that was buckwild! The Stars were at War! There were swords made out of light! There was a young Harrison Ford to stare at for an hour and a half!
These movies came out during the late 70′s and early 80′s. This was a time when the Vietnam War and the Watergate Scandal dominated headlines. The U.S. was trapped in a cycle of never ending wars, leaders doing the bidding of faceless dictators and the fear that gripped the American people that the individuals they had elected to power were willing to do whatever shady shit they had to do to stay in power. They were starting to lose hope in the big organizations that were supposed to be leading them with their best interests at heart.
The O.G. Star Wars films play off of these fears. Never ending wars in far off places? The battles in space between the Empire and the Rebellion. These battles lasted too long and racked up too many casualties for the rest of the galaxy to be comfortable with.
Faceless dictators trying to stay in power by any means necessary? Emperor Palpatine giving orders to Darth Vader and staying in the shadows until the final confrontation with young, idealistic (twink) Luke Skywalker.
These movies played off the idea that there are bad people out there who wouldn’t show their faces but with some guts, luck, some sassy droids and a lightsaber or two anyone could take down these faceless figures and make the world safe again.
The Phantom Menace/Attack of the Clones/Revenge of the Sith
Let me get this out of the way first, these movies are garbage and I’ll fight anyone who disagrees. SQUARE UP HAYDEN CHRISTIANSON. But, hey, Disney, if you can get working on that stand-alone Obi-Wan Kenobi movie with Ewan McGregor I’ll personally give you the funds for the cape budget alone.
Anyway, these movies start with the Republic trying to take control of everything. The best part of these movies is the fact that the Republic is just a thinly veiled excuse to call out the Republican Party during this time.
During the early 2000′s the political landscape was consumed by the tragic events of 9/11 and the fear of terrorism and the constant wars.
The prequels play off these events of the early 2000′s by having each movie focus on a different war. The Phantom Menace has a war between the Trade Federation and Naboo. Attack of the Clones focuses on the Clone Wars. And the war in Revenge of the Sith is the war between the Republic and the Jedi as Anakin Skywalker (SPOILERS) straight up MURDERS kids because he’s a goddamn monster. But these events kick off a war that lasts for the next several years.
The Republic is run by power hungry, old, white men who kept these wars going because they knew they were going to profit off of them, whether these profits be money, power or Anakin Skywalker.
When I found out that Donald had been elected all that was ringing through my head was the Padme line, “so, this is how democracy dies. With thunderous applause.”
Rogue One
Rogue One gets its own section because this movie is so incredible and so well done I could go on for days BUT I’ll try to reign myself in. Rogue One is about how a group of minorities band together and plan to take out the evil leader that is currently in power. Sound familiar to anyone else?
Rogue One came out right after Donald was elected and holy SHIT was it a giant fuck you to the Republican Party and every miserable person who voted for Donald.
This movie has everything; women, people of color, droids telling people their statistics of dying because they’re assholes and Darth Vader making a goddamn pun while force chocking someone.
This movie basically heralds the people that have to do the dirty work. Who die and aren’t remembered even though they did the bravest jobs of all. They get the information; they put themselves right in the line of fire so everyone else can rebuild a better future on their world. This team in Rogue One gave everyone ideas for how to stand up to a power that’s bigger than you are and wants to keep you down.
If you have to work for the bad guys, do their work but make sure there’s a way to destroy them embedded in your plan. Are you just standing by passively because even though the Republic has their flag flying everywhere “if you don’t look up it’s not a problem?” That shit is unacceptable because if you don’t find something to stand for Cassian Andor WILL kidnap you and have you help the Rebellion.
The Force Awakens/The Last Jedi
These movies have everything. They have Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa, they have my space dads, Finn and Poe, they have people of color, they have a giant wrinkly toe as the villain and they have Rose Tico who, as far as I’m concerned, is the best addition to the Star Wars Universe in years.
What makes these movies so political is that our trio is comprised of a woman, a black man and a Latinx man. Our main bad guy is a mentally unstable white boy, who’s way too emotionally invested in his Darth Vader memorabilia.
What’s so interesting to me in the wake of Kyle Ron is that every woman I’ve talked to about these movies has said they have either met, or dated, a dude like Kylo which Y I K E S. Men, you have GOT to do better. In the age of Me Too and Times Up, the idea of a woman beating the shit out of a whiney white dude who calls her nothing is strangely cathartic.
The most interesting part of these movies is that the Stromtroopers in the O.G. movies, and now, are based off of Nazi’s. So with Kylo being so desperate to finish what Vader started is coded as the resurgence of Nazi’s we’re seeing today which is a WILD sentence to even type because NAZI’S ARE BAD AND SHOULD BE PUNCHED.
But, to save the day, we have women and people of color. Which, yeah, we always knew this is how this would go. We get shit DONE.
So next time some fedora wearing assholes tries to make the argument that Star Wars isn’t political, take him down like Rey took down Kylo Ren.

The Mandalorian: Jango Fett and Mandalorian Civil War History Explained
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This Star Wars: The Mandalorian article contains spoilers.
Boba Fett is officially back, armor and all, in Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian, “The Tragedy.” It’s an action-packed return for the beloved bounty hunter too, as we watch him take down stormtroopers with all of his high-tech weapons as well as a Gaderffii stick most often used by Tusken Raiders. Despite being a bit older and left heavily scarred from his time in the sarlacc pit, Boba Fett has lost none of his skill, as that platoon of stormtroopers quickly learns. Fortunately, he turns out to be a friend to Mando by the end of the episode and vows to help him save Grogu from the Empire.
While we don’t learn anything about what Boba Fett has been up to for the past five years, or why he spent so much time on Tatooine despite clearly having access to Slave I, Mando does learn more about Boba’s Mandalorian roots. Fans’ ears likely perked up when Boba referenced his father Jango Fett, who was first introduced in Attack of the Clones. Like his son before him, Jango Fett only has a few scenes in the Prequel Trilogy, just long enough for a duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi, a chase sequence through an asteroid field, and his decapitation at the hands of Mace Windu.

But Jango Fett has a much more important role in the Star Wars universe than as Boba’s dad or the guy who tried to have Padme Amidala killed in Episode II. He’s also the source of the clones that made up the Republic’s army during the Clone Wars. Jango was hired by Count Dooku to travel to the planet Kamino and donate the DNA needed to create the Clone Army, the same one that would one day turn on the Jedi and help destroy the Order. In that way, Jango is a pivotal player in the chain of events that led to the rise of the Empire and the events of the Original Trilogy.
During this time, Jango also asked the Kaminoans to create Boba Fett, who is an unaltered clone of the bounty hunter, meaning that his genetic structure was not tampered with like the other clones. Among other things, this meant Boba Fett aged normally like a regular human as opposed to his other clone counterparts. As we learn in Attack of the Clones, Jango is raising Boba as his own son before being cut down on Geonosis.
We also learn in “The Tragedy” that, like Boba Fett, Jango wasn’t a Mandalorian of conventional origin. He wasn’t born on Mandalore. In fact, Jango was a foundling just like Mando. This detail is a big deal.
Ever since the character was first introduced in 2002, there was some debate as to whether Jango was a true Mandalorian, and the old Legends canon went back and forth on this over the years, but “The Tragedy” settles the debate once and for all. Born on the war-torn planet of Concord Dawn, Jango was brought up by the Mandalorians, and Boba reveals that his father even played a part in the conflict that shaped much of Mandalore’s future even before the start of the film saga.
Jango fought in the Mandalorian Civil War of 42 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin), a conflict that saw a group known as the New Mandalorians seize control of Mandalore from the traditional warrior clans that had waged war against the galaxy for centuries. The New Mandalorians won and established a pacifist government that aimed to rebuild the planet instead of conquering others. Fans of The Clone Wars will undoubtedly remember New Mandalorian leader Duchess Satine Kryze, who ruled the planet during the galactic conflict until she was killed by Maul.
While it’s not entirely clear which side Jango fought for in the Mandalorian Civil War, the logical guess is that he fought on the side of the warrior clans trying to stop the New Mandalorians from taking over the planet. This would explain why New Mandalorian prime minister Almec later disavowed Jango’s status as a Mandalorian, claiming the bounty hunter had simply stolen the race’s traditional armor for his own gain. By the time we meet Jango in Attack of the Clones, it seems he lives on Kamino not just because he’s been hired for a job but because he’s been banished from Mandalorian society by the ruling party.
Boba seems proud of this heritage, though, telling Mando that he’s out on his own and not necessarily part of any Mandalorian group. But when the fighting is done, he does show Mando the armor’s chain code, which confirms his father’s roots as a Mandalorian. Jango was every bit a member of the warrior race as Mando, even if their stories are vastly different.
Keep up with all of The Mandalorian season 2 news here.

So I worked out a timeline and I cracked jokes through the whole thing because you have to.
TIMELINE There’s a few things that are important to Urha, who should be around 40, depending on how you view the timeline. She isn’t part of the timeskip, but she knows people who were, so let’s establish a few historical points. 3rd Astral Era, aka about 5,000 years ago, Allagan Empire rises and falls, shit happens. This is the height of technology as far as the history of this world is known. (4th Umbral era, Calamity of Earth) 4th Astral Era: The Eorzean Alphabet, not much else. 5th Umbral Era, ???, Calamity of Ice, Miqo’te can survive in Eorzea I guess. They can hunt, and enjoyed the Alphabet a lot. This is why they aren’t mentioned later in the waves of immigration I assume, because they were kind of there. (5th Astral Era, Mhach and Amdapor) (6th Umbral Era, Calamity of Water) (6th Astral Era, Pre-ARR. The reason a 7th calamity was not predicted was because the 6 elements had all been accounted for. I guess some people knew another one was coming, but no one really cared I guess, so they assumed it’d just all be great forever. If you think about it, it sort of makes sense since yeah that’s all the elements. Yoshi P, an as yet  unknown element,  was the 7th Calamity, as we all know. The Calamity of Deus Ex Machina, also known as, fuck, the moon.) - 969, the Lalafellian nation of Belah’dia, made up of descendants of ancient Mhach, is split into Sil’dih and Ul’dah. Some Hyurs try to come in around 755, and Belah’dia tells them to fuck off using the universal language of explosions. - ca. 1000, Ul’dah accepts some people from the prior waves of immigration to Aldenard, Hellsguard and Highlander sellswords. -1179, Ala Mhigan Mercenaries introduce Highlanders once again to Ul’dah. For 17 goddamn years Sil’dih has taken Ul’dah’s water and they are PISSED. They also fucked up Thanalan, helping in making it the crap place it is today. -1181, Ul’dah raises the fucking dead to destroy Sil’dih, thanks alchemy. -1224-1355, Thorne Dynasty, aka Hyurs sort of have some significance in Ul’dah for less than 150 years, good job guys, way to let the potato man keep you down. -1468-1469, Autumn War, Big Huge Deal. In summary, Ala Mhigo is an asshole and Ishgard, Ul’dah and Limsa all help Gridania fuck them up. -1476, Ul’dah isn’t gonna fuck someone up and not make a profit, so they force Ala Mhigo to reduce their tolls. This is great because pirates are still this huge problem for Ul’dah, and they haven’t invented flying yet, but they will soon. This is the beginning of it, where Tatanora makes coaches bigger and lighter using Ixali technology, which involves ceruleum vapors, and becomes a really famous figure in Ul’dah’s history as a fantastic and filthy rich merchant. -1522, Tatanora starts to do airships too, mostly used for exploration. Flight is available to the public as Highwind Skyways, 9 years later, but this turns out to be a terrible time to figure out how to fly because The Republic of Garlemald has just become the Garlean Empire in 1522. Somehow this doesn’t become a problem immediately. -1552, Garlemald Annexes Doma. -1557, Garlemald Annexes Ala Mhigo. -1561, Battle of Silvertear Skies. Neutral area of Mor Dhona is attacked by Garlemald, but they crash into a dragon. Midgarsormr and the warship makes a huge, gross mess. Ul’dah is still flying around like nothing’s gonna ever go wrong. -1563, Not only can Ul’dah fly now, but Garlond Ironworks works with Highland Skyways to make modern airships suitable for regular service between the citystates, available to an average citizen. -1569, Finally Garlemald shoots one of those airships out of the sky, so they suspend airship travel, limiting it only to “extraordinary circumstances”. Yes, it was only that recently. -1572, 7th Umbral Calamity, WOOPS WE HAD ANOTHER CALAMITY. Cue ARR. -1577, ARR, and we are in the 7th Astral Era. Some people who were at the Battle of Carteneau are forgotten along with the Warrior of Light and kind of jump ahead 5 years. It’s not really clear if it’s only the Warrior of Light or if it’s anyone out there fighting. Basically, if you were a player before ARR, your character has woken up 5 years later and someone took your shit. This blows. Fuck you, Yoshi P. (WE ARE NOW IN THE NOTORIOUS TIME BUBBLE) -1578 (?), Doma rebels, but it doesn’t work very well. Monzen’s bombed, because as previously established, explosions are a universal language. Doman refugees are refused entry to Ul’dah because Ul’dah has enough problems, and they are taken into Mor Dhona, which has now had not only a warship and a dragon fall on them, but also the moon. A regular local weather pattern is “gloom” so needless to say, this place sucks.
-1579 (?), Doma and Ala Mhigo is liberated by Some Guy, and I guess all of Heavensward happened last year, and/or this year, also Stormblood. These are a pretty impressive 2 years. They sure just flew by. -1580 (???), the year of our headcanon, Professor Urha, who is 41 or 42 sometime in the fall. Also known to some as The Future*. This could be ShadowBringers, but probably ShadowBringers also happened last year. Sorry, it’s not my fault. * (The only thing for certain is… heavensward happened, Yugiri said there was a rebellion at some point, and 25 years ago from that day, Doma was annexed, stormblood happened, and an NPC said the rebellion was last year. At least one year has passed. I allowed the canon to exist, and for 3 years to have past since ARR began, and that we are living in year 3, and will be living in year 3 for some time. When a more strict timeframe is referenced, my character’s age will reflect this.) Now that we have that established, let’s overlay Professor Urha’s history. Thanalan. Urha’s mother’s side is a seeker of the sun of the J tribe, who were there since magical ice age I guess or something. Her mother is a first generation citystate-cat, sired by a Nuhn named Raahn. Hyurs were let into Ul’dah around 1000, 6th astral era. It is suspected by her father’s side that in 1179, Urha’s Hyurian descendants were permitted to exist in Ul’dah society. The city of Davenport is on record existing at the time of the Autumn War, 1469, and is where her father, Miles Davenport, or at least that Surname, comes from. 1539: On the 30th Sun of the 6th Astral Moon, Myria Davenport is born to J’urhalla Raahn, AKA Rosegold, and Miles Davenport. This is a fantastic time to be born a Monetarist. No Ala Mhigan refugees, Ul’dah can fly, is dealing with the east near and far, Ul Dynasty is doing great, plenty of money to be made and no one to stop you. It’s been almost 10 years since the previously unknown republic has named itself an empire, but they’re mostly dominating Ilsebard, maybe the start of some of Othard, and not an issue Eorzea has to worry about. There aren’t very many Miqo’te monetarists, and so her father is very protective of her, as she came out with ears and a tail like her mother. He wants her to be taken seriously in business and gets her the best education money can buy. He takes it a little too far, and in the end, all members of the family go missing, with only some members of the Syndicate at the time aware of what actually happened. 1550: Something really really awful. 1552: Doma is Annexed by Garlemald. 1555: Something even more awful. 1557: Myria Davenport is all but forgotten, and somewhere in the east, a beautiful 18 year old Miqo’te is a horrible monster, and is frustrated her research has been rejected. She is being transferred. Oh, and Ala Mhigo is Annexed by Garlemald. 1559: Not a great time. Chemical Burns. 1561: Nope. 1572-1577: Calamity, and then a new era is born. The entire planet changes, physically and in spirit. Everyone works to repair their lives. When people try and remember those who fought for them and are the reason they are alive, they can remember neither the name nor face nor life of any being, only a shining, lighted silhouette. Myria Davenport returns to Eorzea after spoilers, in the year spoilers, using a short and sweet version of her mother’s name as her alias. She is found unconscious by a tribe of Keepers in the South Shroud, between the Black Shroud and Thanalan. Many keeper tribes have fled Eorzea entirely, a few broods moved from the West Shroud, now no longer in existence, to other parts of the Black Shroud. In spite of the fact she is a Seeker, she is accepted due to her medical knowledge and asked to act as the tribe’s wisewoman. Keepers are way more chill than she remembers them being, but I guess a calamity or two will do that. Once confident, she leaves them, and rebuilds her fortune, even though she cannot rebuild her family name, because spoiler.
