A Suburban Waterfall - Heathcote Falls
Tucked behind three houses overlooking the Heathcote National Park, is this lovely waterfall feeding into the Woronora River catchment. In dry times it can revert to a trickle but after rain it becomes a roaring torrent.
Thanks to my friends I had access to clamber down and under this fall in a light drizzle to capture these images.

#1350 - Mecynodera coxalgica
Tumblr media
Les Shearim, Heathcote National Park, Sydney.
I managed to get an ID on this one - one of the Sagrinae subfamily of Leaf Beetles, because of the anatomical similarity to Diphanops westermanni, a species I’ve found here in Perth. But Diphanops is a plain brownish grey. Oddly enough, despite the resemblance, they’re not in the same Tribe.
