For everyone looking for data points on tour ticket $$, this is what I'm seeing on the first day of Ed's verified fan pre-sale at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta):
Upper Deck (300s): $49-$79
Middle Deck (200s): $109-$145
Lower Bowl (100s): $154
Floor (All GA): $145
Presale opened at 10 AM; it's now 12 PM and there are still tons of seats available. I joined the queue multiple times (FOMO, ya know) and have waited no more than 3 minutes each time to get in. Both my Mom and I registered for Verified Fan last week and we both got codes.
I decided not to buy tickets yet because I don't love the date of the show (Memorial Day Weekend) and am weary of committing that much money for a day where I don't necessarily want to travel to ATL.
I know it's not a 1-1 comparison for Taylor, but it does give me comfort to know that:
It wasn't a bloodbath to get in; this isn't a hot market, but it's also not like Cleveland or something (sorry, Cleveland)
There's lots of options still available after several hours
Prices are high, but not absurd. I almost wish the cheap seats were cheaper and the great seats were more?

there’s something so powerful about knowing how a story turns out but not knowing how exactly everything unfolds. quincey morris mentioning vampire bats in today’s excerpt is making me go feral despite me knowing exactly what is causing lucy’s illness

insert those coins babey! no point in holding onto them if they aren't used !
You Now Own:
001 - Mineral Water (x2)
Drawn from the ocean depths and rigorously purified. Ideal for a modern on-the-go public unsatisfied with tap water.
002 - Sea Salt
A basic seasoning produced from the evaporation of seawater. It also sees use as a preservative.
003 - Ration
A set of canned and vacuum-sealed foodstuffs. The taste isn't bad, and a certain snake that wants to play hide-and-go-seek is just crazy abou- wait, what?
005 - Ramune
A sweet, lemon-flavored carbonated drink. A marble plugs the opening of the uniquely designed bottle. The bottle can also be reused if you bring it to the ramune store.
010 - Ship In a Bottle
A intricate creation, a model ship within a bottle. Made with time, love and care.
012 - Envy-Enducing Envy CD
A CD of songs by Japanese band Envy. Full of unreleased tracks/first recordings.
014 - Children's Book
A children's book about family and forgiveness! The plot is about a sister who can't get along with her younger brother, but they find common ground and bond over causing trouble for their parents.
016 - Sour Soda (x2)
No flavor is listed on the bottle other than sour, which may just be a flavor in and of itself. It's a near black shade of blue... I think.
017 - Gentleman's Guide
A book that's meant to help shape you into the perfect gentleman. However, it's rather demeaning towards the reader, which doesn't feel very gentleman-ly.
018 - Masculine Cologne
Very masculine, can only be used by masculine people. No weaklings allowed, or people with the common sense to smell it before purchasing, and realize it smells really bad.
019 - Fancy Sword
True to it’s name, it looks very fancy, and very intimidating. However, it's only for show, and rather blunt- perhaps inexpensive?
022 - ??? Alcohol
It's something alcoholic. This is a school, it should be confiscated, and you won't be receiving any more information.
024 - Hair Cutting Scissors
Snip snip snip, meant for hair-cutting at home, as these aren’t professional grade. Still though, try and make it even, okay?
025 - Purple Hair Dye
Pretty purple hair dye guaranteed to not come out of hair for weeks! More of a pinkish-purple than the box advertised, but still pretty.
028 - Constellation Skirt
With patterns matching actual real constellations. Despite matching the night sky, it almost seems sun-rise themed, with its pink background and pale gold stars.
030 - Bottled Tea
When heated up, it's meant to help soothe upset stomachs, and muscle aches. Popular among student athletes.
031 - Alarm Clock
It's a digital alarm clock. One of the few normal and functional things here, and it's the thing that screams at you to wake up every morning.
032 - Broken Stopwatch (x2)
It won't stop running, no pausing or restarting. You can however make it record different laps.
034 - Baseball Cap
Perfect for keeping the sun out of your face! This one is all black though, so it'll retain a lot of heat.
038 - Card Game (x3)
One easy to play, and popular among kids. The front side of the package shows a family of four playing.
039 - Reminder Booklet
A small pamphlet that gives reminders for daily things, such as eating, drinking, taking meds, etc. Also has room for you to add in unique personalized reminders.
041 - Tiovita
A Japanese energy drink sold at most convenience stores. Pretty inexpensive, and with a nice fruity flavor- but hey, only one per day!
044 - Lie Detector (x2)
Fun for the whole family! Though not incredibly accurate... wait, how do you know that?
045 - Evidence Encylopedia
A book focusing on evidence found in crime scenes. From most overlooked to most common, this book talks about it all.
049 - Track Award
A award from a middle school track and field award. The recipient of the trophy seems to have come in second in two events, and first in one.
050 - Plane Tickets (x2)
Anywhere, anytime, round trip tickets. Probably given as some sort of thank you for volunteering to get off of a accidentally over-booked flight.
051 - Therapy Advertisement (x2)
Some therapist endorsing themselves. Upon looking at the services they offer, I don't feel very inspired to go there.
056 - Soulmate Sweatshirt
A sweatshirt that supposedly brings the most comfort not when you wear it, but when holding someone wearing it. Currently smells strongly of... lavender?
057 - Scrap Metal x3
Seems to be broken bits and pieces of some sort of engine. Could be repurposed, or simply a cool trinket.
059 - Old Journal
It seems to be from the late 80s, and kept being written in up to the early 90s. There's a entry on the last page, synopsizing the birth of the owners son, and how proud the owner is of his now five year old.
060 - Paper Boat
A piece of paper that's been folded into a boat. Apparently you can fold and tear it as you tell a story to provide a visual aid for the story, but no one here knows how.
061 - Calendar
It's got pictures of internationally famous towns on it! This particular one has been written on with a note on almost every day.
064 - Face-paint Kit.
A professional face-painting kit. However, it’s missing it’s red, yellow, blue and white paint- those colors have been all used up.
065 - Life Quote Sign (x3)
A sign with some stereotypical life quote written on it in flowery lettering. Most likely to be seen hanging in a kitchen.
066 - Throwing Rings (x2)
Meant for fair games. If you have good enough aim, maybe you'll win a prize!
067 - Pleasant Savior
Seemingly a CD filled with various performances by the same person. I haven't played the CD, so I don't know what kind of performances he does though, and the name is off-putting.
069 - “Fresh” Bouquet (x3)
Somehow still smells sweet with flowers that look flawless. It's comprised of roses that have been dyed rainbow, all of them.
070 - Hair Ribbons (x3)
They come in a variety of colors, but the Monomono Machine only dispenses yellow. Guaranteed to make the wearer feel a certain sense of self-satisfaction.
071 - Girls Profile
A student profile from a all-girls academy. The paper is water-stained and some of the ink has run, so it's hard to make out what's on the paper.
073 - Baby Doll
It seems to be from around the 90s and... not quite well-loved, but well-played-with. Doesn't come with the original clothes... or hair.
075 - Dream Catcher
Made by a past SHSL. It's actually been pretty effective, and is part of the reason they got scouted.
080 - Retro Game
It's handheld, old, and extremely broken. The screen has been shattered so it displays wrong, all cracked and distorted.
081 - Blackout Curtains (x2)
Completely block out any and all light. Strong enough to plunge a room into darkness.
084 - Noise-cancelling Headphones
They completely block out all sound! Also come with the ability to adjust the size of the band, and will stay on your ears even if you pull the band down to your neck.
086 - Wall Decals
Stickers you can put on your wall. They do a decent job of covering up holes in said walls.
087 - Antique Stuffed Animal (x2)
It seems to be bunny themed, and dressed in clothes you'd see on babies in the 1930s. It's in pretty good shape, other than a few tears where the lace trim at the end has had it’s stitches removed.
088 - Embroidery Kit
Or rather, a needle and thread to be used for embroidery. There's only one needle, and one spool of thread, but hey, it’s something.
090 - Scented Markers (x2)
A full rainbow set, all with their own unique smell! Be careful though - it's hard to get these out of clothes.
092 - Fake Christmas Tree (x2)
Too plastic to be a real tree. It's also incredibly small, but real trees can be small too, so that doesn’t really mess with the realism.
093 - Hair Gel
Top of the line hair gel, and completely unopened! Helps you style your hair and keep it in place, but doesn’t give it the nicest texture.
095 - Instant Noodles
Just add water to get something hot, salty, and/or spicy! A nice meal if you're looking for something that's quick and easy, you can dress it up some too.
097 - Drink Mix
A powder used for ??? warm drink, made with milk, tastes like... something? You try it and tell me, but it smells good at the least.
099 - The DSM-I
Self-explanatory, it's the original version of the DSM, from 1952. Index cards have been slipped in-between most of the pages, talking about what happened with the information listed there.
100 - Collection Of Old Ads
Dating back to the 1920s. A magazine full of ads from a different time, it’s somewhat of a miracle the paper held up while the ideas in it didn’t.
101 - Wooden Ruler
It's a wooden ruler. Used for measuring things, nothing else- why do you ask?
102 - Building Blocks (x3)
Stacking and stacking, and sending it all crumbling down. And then you rinse and repeat.
104 - Cutesy Hair Clips
Snap clips in pastel colors and covered in designs. Oddly enough, there isn't any non-pastels, unless you count the few white clips.
106 - Newspaper Collage
Seems to be a collection of snippets from newspaper articles. There must be hundreds in here... it's a big collage.
107 - Cropped Sweatshirt
Cropped specifically due to a parent saying not to. The sweatshirt seems to be related to some organization, with the big fancy emblem on it.
109 - Pins And Patches
A mix-and-match bag full of enamel pins, buttons, and iron-on patches. Good luck finding something to do with them all.
110 - Origami Paper (x2)
Simple origami paper, in a variety of colors and patterns! Comes easy to tear out of a book, which includes instructions on basic origami types.
112 - Colorful Band-Aids.
They come in many colors, designs, even different sizes. Some seem to be made to cover up paper cuts, others meant to help skinned knees and scraped elbows.
Thank you for visiting the Monomono Machine!

San Francisco playlist
San Francisco - my favorite city in the world!
The bands, the music, the songs are all here, in this playlist I created.
I threw in a bit of Sac and went south by San Jose, Monterrey and up past Sausalito. Can we make it to 250 songs? Let me know what bands/songs I left out.
Have I left out a song or a band in this San Francisco playlist?
Let me know!
Cheers!

Dragon Dancer III: Nailing The God
Mild Spoiler Warning: This chapter Spoils a Conversation in Level 103 and a Conversation from a scene Level 109
-----
In the crimson light of a setting sun, Chisei and I took off together in a large military grade helicopter towards the Tama mountains. We were joined by 28 men who had been disguised as the priests in the shrine, but now donned tactical gear and submachine guns. These elite forces of the Hydra, highly trained and loyal, displayed fighting prowess on the level of US Navy Seals. Even though this was a small group, we had the strength of an army.
“You’re sure you’re up to this? You were injured not long ago,” Chisei asked me.
I chuckled to myself. “Having too much energy was one of the reasons I wasn’t adopted, you know. I was so tired a few minutes ago, but I feel fine after such little rest. Hybrid energy never ceases to amaze.”
“Get Anjou on the line,” was Chisei’s only response.
His sat, arms crossed, piercing the space in front of him with a steely glare. The phone line picked up, but Anjou didn’t say so much as a greeting.
“I hope you realize, Anjou, that your kinetic weapon is not going to work.”
Anjou remained silent.
“You cannot decide when to launch and you cannot adjust it once it launches. All the King has to do is move the god away from the Red Well and Tokyo is gone and the world is lost. The King’s men infiltrated the Hydras and assaulted your group. Don’t you think they know what you’re up to already?”
My eyes turned away. My good mood dampened.
“It was my plan to hold the god there for you. To prevent their movement until the strike of the rod.”
My chest ached hearing those words. He planned to die. Chime must have known. His cries and his tears were still fresh in my mind.
Anjou finally spoke, his voice soft but clear. “You’re already on your way?”
“Yes. We’ll be there in 15 minutes. I am still a patriarch. I said I was not a good student and I meant it. I made a lot of mistakes. I am not as good as Caesar, Chu Zihang and Lu Mingfei but... I like them very much. It’s too late to make friends with them. I hope at least to get a passing grade from you now.”
“I’m sorry I have spoken to you so harshly.” Anjou’s reply was full of regret.
“I wanted to be scolded. To be told the things I already knew. Only Carli refuses to tell me what I need to hear.”
"Then Carli is with you.”
He turned to me, though he still addressed the Principal. “Yes. Do you have any regrets of sending your genius to die with me? Or was this your plan all along? You should know the dangers of her bloodline, even if she doesn’t. If so, it’s inexcusable for you to deceive her this way.”
I turned to him. I didn’t believe Anjou wanted either of us to die here. He was the one who asked me to be here. Was he afraid Chisei might make this a suicide mission?
Was that my real reason to be here?
I spoke up. “I can leave any time. But I’m here on the behalf of Chime Gen.”
Chisei’s jaw clenched. “I’m here to make up for the mistakes I’ve made.”
“What mistakes?” I asked.
Chisei’s pained look of disbelief and anger put a lump in my throat. His guilt still tormented him despite my forgiveness.
“You’re still going to die for justice?” Anjou asked, quietly. His question confirmed my suspicions about his true motive.
Chisei cut the line. He avoided my gaze, staring over the ruined landscape of Tokyo instead. I knew there were no words that could truly turn the tide when it came to thoughts of suicide. These sorts of feelings overpowered logic and reasoning. Without the support of Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang, I would have succumbed to them long ago.
“You should go, Carli. Go back to Chu Zihang.” He finally said, still gazing out the window.
“I know.” I responded. “Not that it has anything to do with you. The King knows almost everything about us. Our Soul Skills, our bloodline, even my ability to teleport. He’s already taken a contingency against us. But... I still have something that only one other person knows. Only Chu Zihang knows.”
That got his attention, he finally looked at me again. “You have an ace up your sleeve.”
I smiled at him. “I have two.”
We broke through the clouds over the Tama mountains. The normally green peaks had turned an ashen grey and were draped in strange white filaments as if a giant spider had spread a veil of silk overnight.
-----------------------
Lu Mingfei settled in the wine cellar of the Takamagahara, listening to the sounds of thudding feet on the upper floor. No one knew he was down there. Outside this underground haven, ravenous Servitor monsters stalked the hallways led by gunmen from the Devil Clan. He was sure each of those thugs would be eager to be the one to take down the S-ranked member of Cassell. Silence was punctuated by screams and gunfire, followed by more silence. He couldn’t make it out of there without Carli’s help.
“Carli...” He whispered to himself. He felt terrible for even needing her help. Carli had looked up to him from the day they met. She’d never stopped calling him ‘senpai’, even though her achievements quickly outstripped his. He’d always suspected that he was an imposter of an S-Rank. Carli had finally shown him the truth of it in this devastating contrast.
He would never forget the sight of her being pinned to the wall by Ruri Kazama’s long knife. She was the most precious thing in the world to him, but in that moment he’d been unable to protect her. She had to save herself and she did. Now it was up to him to save himself and he was not so sure of his own chances.
Perhaps, if he had managed to keep his Akira persona, things might have gone differently.
When he had heard the woodblock sound, it had awakened a great strength in him, a strength he could use in this situation. However, the woodblock was in the hands of the enemy. If he had dared join Carli in battle against Kazama, who knew if he would have fought with her or turned against her under the control of the King? He shuddered at the thought.
As if in sympathy, his phone vibrated on the bartop. A text message from Erii... He was surprised. She knew already that he wasn’t Akira, that his true identity was another person named Mingfei. But she was texting him?
“Where are you?” She was worried about him?.
“I’m okay. I’m hiding in a shelter. Are you safe?” Her text made him smile.
“I’m on my way to the airport with my brother. My brother is very upset, but he is with me and comforts me. Is there someone there to comfort you?”
There is now. That line of thought sounded like something Akira would say. During the time he couldn’t remember his own name or where he came from, people surrounding him just started calling him Akira, saying he was from a prestigious clan. Even though he couldn’t remember it, it felt better than being confused so he accepted that identity.
While he was Akira, he loved Erii so much. Those feelings still lingered. Erii was texting a ghost of a person. Someone who wasn’t real but had somehow existed. He felt like he should apologize for deceiving her this way, but he struggled to do it. Every time he tried to text ‘I’m sorry’, the feelings of affection and the memories of his time in isolation gaming together with her welled up and stopped him from pressing send.
The feeling of her lips against his sent a pang through his chest and pressed a sigh from him.
How could he acknowledge the past feelings were real and acknowledge that they had to start over?
He didn’t want to lose her. He didn’t want to have her for the wrong reasons.
Mingfei hung his head. “I have our memories to comfort me.” He typed.
“Where are you? Are you at the Heavy Industries building? I will pick you up. We can go to South Korea together.”
He wanted it. He wanted so much to go to her. His spirit was torn in two. If she came back to where he was, she would be in danger. She had received stabilizing treatments for her debilitating condition, but her health was still delicate. The streets were flooded and impassable. The car could be wrecked or swept away. If she ran into danger from the Devil Clan gang or the Servitor beasts, using her Soul Skill could endanger her health.
His prophetic dreams told him so: first would be the water. Next, would be fire. “No, Erii. It’s too dangerous to come. I will join you in South Korea later.”
He stared at his message in horror, moaning. “Oh... no... why did I write that? Why did I write that? There is no way I can just go to South Korea!”
“When?” She asked.
He groaned. He tried to backtrack in his message. “Not now. There are no more tickets. All of Tokyo is trying to get out of here right now.”
“I will contact my brother to buy you a ticket.”
“What? Wait!” He rubbed his head in frustration, turning his hair into a wild mess. “No I don’t want to impose. I can’t get to the airport anyway with the streets all wrecked. Just wait. When I get there, I will text you and we can meet up then.”
Mingfei felt himself getting more and more entangled in his own web of deception.
“You’ll buy me ice cream? When we play Pokemon Go? I really want to play Pokemon Go with Sakura.”
No matter how much he struggled, his heart made his fingers type the wrong messages. Mingfei’s face grew hot. Tears rolled down his cheeks. None of this was real. Nothing he said was real. None of this could happen!
“Are you scared?” Was her next message.
“No.” He whispered, head low in defeat. He took a breath and typed out what he felt would be his final messages to her. “I’m just sad because it seems I might not see you anymore. I just hope that you won’t be sad. That you’ll be happy in South Korea with your brother. I hope you will forget about Akira and me.”
“Why would I forget about you? I cannot forget about you. Does South Korea make you forget?”
He stared at the phone, tasting tears through his clenched teeth. “Because deep down I am a useless person. I’m not very strong. I get scared. I can’t fight with a sword like your brother. I can’t even escape this shelter or protect my friends. Please, go find someone in South Korea who is strong and beautiful and smart like you. When you find someone like that, you will forget me.”
“If South Korea will make me forget you, then I will not go.”
“No, Erii, you should go make your new life.”
“I don’t want a new life. I want Mingfei.”
“Erii! No!” He was trying to type so quickly. “You can’t come back here. You’ll die!”
“I am okay with dying. I nearly died before. But I was happy because I was with you. I will not be happy in South Korea if Mingfei is not there with me.”
--------
In the armored Cadillac, Erii tugged on Chime’s arm. She held up her notebook. “Tell him to stop the car.”
“She says to stop the car.” Chime told the driver.
The driver kept going. “I cannot stop the car,” he replied.
Erii nodded, unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the door. Before Chime could do anything, she leaped from the vehicle, landed hard against the momentum, and began to run. The Cadillac skidded to a halt. The driver got out and yelled at her to stop.
Chime, confused, unbuckled himself and got out to run after her. “Erii! Where are you going? Come back!”
As he came around the trunk, he saw the driver jog a few steps, then reach into his coat. Chime’s eyes grew wide, recognizing the glint of a black pistol in the driver’s emerging hand.
Chime broke into a run to the driver. He was not strong, but he caught the driver by surprise, and wrapped himself around the driver’s arms. The gun discharged into the ground.
The driver twisted his body around and drove his knee into Chime’s stomach, laying him flat. He pointed the gun at him.
Erii turned at the gunshot, eyes flashing yellow. Carli had warned her not to use her voice. The poison of the dragon’s blood in her veins could reassert itself. But at that moment she couldn’t help herself even if it meant suffering a relapse. Chime was her second brother. As such, even if she didn’t know him well, he was sacred in her heart. She opened her mouth and a deluge of draconic curses homed in on the driver.
The man was instantly vaporized, snuffed out of existence like the flame of a candle.
Erii ran back to Chime who was still on the ground, winded, and helped him sit up. Her ears were ringing and she felt weak.
“Erii, why did you do that?” He gasped, leaning on his knees.
Her eyes shifted and she fidgeted. She didn’t have her phone or her notepad. She couldn’t communicate without risking Chime’s life.
She would not have the chance to retrieve them. A loud bang and a wave of heat knocked them flat. Erii clapped her hands over her ears. Chime’s hands grabbed her under her shoulders and dragged her until she found her feet. She looked back. A fireball rolled upwards out of the car. The doors, the hood and the trunk had blown open, lifting bits of metal and shards of glass into the air. Chime wrapped his arm around Erii and hurried her away as the debris started to come down around them.

Lockdown Diary Part 9
A personal account during the lockdown in the UK due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
23/03/2020 8:30pm Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister, gives a live address to the nation to, effectively, put the country on lockdown to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus strain, Covid-19.
Many of us have been self-isolating for days but this latest development within the UK in reaction to the pandemic feels very serious and very scary. I decided to keep a simple diary and where better but online.
Day 241: Shit day at work. To cut a long story short, I could complete a task Sueanne gave to me and then I got it in the ear, including a snotty email ay 5:40pm. Pissed off.
Day 242: Had a meeting with Sueanne (our weekly 1-2-1 actually) and she was alright. I feel much better tonight. Last night I didn’t even have an appetitie - unheard of! Going to make up for that tonight, pie and loads of veg! A much better day. Ridiculously, I believe yesterday was all my own fault - I take work for granted sometimes and I let myself down by ignoring the urgency of a task just because it was Sueanne asking me to do it and she was a peer. She is now my boss, and I should respect that.
Day 243: So-so day at work. It’s strange how used to work I am after over six months on furlough. It’s been less than two months back but all the highs and lows amd frustrations are commonplace. Most importantly, it being Thursday, I cannot wait for tomorrow eveninga dn to kick back, drink and smoke.
Spoke to dad this morning, he’s same as...that’s always good to know.
Sugar levels have been a fucking roller coaster today, and it has really fucked me off! No salad at lunch due to them being so fucking high when I got back from my walk. It ended up being my tea.
Sarted watching The Undoing...it’s OK.
Day 244: Glad it is Friday. Just cooking a (very hot) chicken madras, cracked open my first beer. Gonna eat, drink, smoke and watch a good film.
Day 245: Gold was the film I watched last night, with Matthew McConaughey and it was a good choice. I then watch a Kevin Hart stand up show on Netflix...very Eddie Murphy, very funny.
I did a 12 km walk today...fucking felt it in my legs. Walked the footpath from Stoke Doyle road to Benefield road for the first time. I liked it and it comes out between Lytham Park and Wakerley Close....I posted on FB about the fact that when I move to Oundle, Clifton Drive was the last street heading out of town.
Saw Becks on the walk down Benefield road, She mentioned she’s tired of lockdown. I replied that I’m tired of the virus!
Day 246: Up at 1pm, nice long walk, ordered new slippers and waterproof jacket (my Craghopper is bust again).
Day 247: I screwed up at work today, went for a (ridiculously) late lunch right when I was meant to be at an online meeting that Sueanne had reminded me about in the morning. There’s mitigation but, when push comes to shove, I fucked up and now Sueanne’s on the warpath - one more slip up and it’ll be an offical disciplinary matter.
Day 248: Suzanne wants me to troubleshoot a ticket she has in her queue, some database request for a Cork guy. It’s a test and it’s fucking me off.
I did testing for a network change tonight...8 till 11:15pm.
Elliot and Aaron cleaned the windows today. It was nice to see them.
Rita sent a couple of emails recently. Dad’s ear is all clear but Paul has got testicular cancer.
Day 249: New waterproof jacket arrived today. It’s very nice, bargain for £25 odd. Also picked up slippers from M&S food hall in Corby so, while over their, did a shop at Tesco’s...£109 mainly booze.
By the time I was back, I ended up doing my evening walk at 9.30pm!
Day 250: Leigh from Oundle Chronicle has got back to me. She (he?) has selected the photos that are going to be in the article and wants me to write a sentence on each - where they were taken and what inspited me to do so. Whether that means the stuff I wrote before is not going to be used, or not, I dunno!
New slippers are OK and the new jacket is still impressing me.
Day 251: Typing on Day 252. Usual Friday, beers, meatballs, pizza, long chat with Fog. I should mention that, as we approach the end of Lockdown2 in England, Boris and his government have laid out a three tier structure for how the second lockdown will be eased. It’s caused confusion and consternation across the board. None of it affects me, still isolating like I was on day 1.
Day 252: Totally forgot about my diary entry yesterday! Up at 1pm, nice long walk, nipped rong Elliots to pay for my windows, had a chat with him, Artron and Camilla - it’s so nice to socialise! Gonna make fish pie and supp a few ales.
Day 253: The weekend is over way too quickly. It’s 7.30pm on Sunday as I type and I wish it wasn’t. I wish it was 7.30pm on Friday.
Day 254: In a meeting, a working Zoom, with Andy Ashler in the US re: qfiniti, which Sueanne pissed me off about earlier in te day (RCI diary updated), but the meeting went well. I am desparately trying to buy an iPad on Black Monday. As usual with tech, I cannot make my mind up which to buy!
Day 255: I haven’t bought an iPad....I’ll wait for the 10.2″ iPad to come down in price. I had more involvement with Andy Ashler and in the US with the Qfiniti project at work. I’m really enjoying it, it’s very technical...although I didn’t finish ‘til 6pm because of it.
The Oundle Chronicle is out and an article about me and my pics is on the back page. Leigh, the editor, sent it to me electronically. It’s good. I am chuffed!
Day 256: I booked some holidays today, making sure that I didn’t include any days off in the week December 14-18 (SB’s off). So, this coming Friday (4th Dec), Next Weds-Fri and Monday 21st. I know I have only been back from Furlough a couple of months but I am more than ready for some kick-back time.
1-2-1 with SB today, it was a relaxed affair, most espcially becaus eof my success thus far with the Qfiniti project - that being said, I got pretty much nowhere with it today.
Ordered a couple of long sleeved Ts and a fleeced hoody from a shop called Doubletwo today, well cheap in the sale.
I saw half a dozen joggers on the Milton Road blind bend tonight, oblivious to any other potential path user. I posted about it (in my own, sarcastic way) on the Oundle Chatter FB group. It was met how I’d expected plus some direct digs so I deleted it. Cowardly but, I figure, I don’t get my point across, the vast majority of joggers really don’t think they are doing anything wrong by bulldozing there way around town and, lastly, I couldn’t be bothered with the flak, and its tennis like back-and-forth!
Day 257: Got tomorrow off so worked late tying up loose ends, including the qfiniti project - fucking nuts really, making sure no one asks any questions of SB or the team, in terms of my work load, for just one day off! Still, just had tea, cracked open a beer and am watching Shaun of the Dead. Nice.
Day 258: The main thing I did today is walk. It was about 12km but felt much longer ‘cos it was wintry, pissing down, windy and slippery as fuck. And I really enjoyed it! Badge messaged me today to ask how I am and, in replying, I mentioned that I think I am becoming addicted to walking...it wasn’t a throwaway comment.
Just cooked up a chilli (which I think I have ruined with a Knorr beef stock pot), and will tuck in with beers, smokes and telly. While it’s been a day off, this Friday evening will be as all others are at the moment, late, drunken and solitary fun - no doubt.
Day 259: Typing on day 260. That chilli last night was actually OK. Plus I ‘invented’ a meatball wrap - moving on from the TikTok ham and cheese wrap you fold into the toaster, I tried the same with meatballs but no fucking way could I fold it into the toaster slot (pissed up kitchen shenanigans), so I wrapped it in tin foil and heated it in the oven, Fucking delicious. I watched Shaun of the Dead. I think it’s the first time since its release and I couldn’t help thinking “zombies just aren’t like that [in real life]” Wtf?
Day 260: I was quite sensible (for a Saturday) last night, in bed by 2am, up at my alarm this morning, 10:30am. Nice long walk, taking in a new path up by Biggin Grange and took plenty of pics that turned out really good.
Btw, posh lost yesterday at Portsmouth (with 2000 fans there) and they lost midweek and last weekend in the FA Cup to Chorley, at home.
Day 261: It’s freezing today...actually 0 degrees. This house is so fucking cold, even with the heating on.
Day 262: Typing on day 263. Last day of work for 5 days. Beers are in order. And a sausage casserole.
Day 263: I completely forgot to do a diary entry yesterday....concentrating on starting my work break off on the right foot, which I did. As a result, I didn’t get up until 1pm. So, to stop that sort of day wasting, no beers tonight. Just got back from a shop (£90 in Tesco’s), trying to sort out Romiley’s Christmas present, then something to eat (more sausage casserole) and a early, sober night.
Day 264: So, after abstinence last night, I was up before 11am and did a walk that included the track from Benefield Road to Monson Way past Park Wood. It was fucking hard work due to mud. I have lost coumd the amount of times I nearly slipped right over. Throw into that a hypo, the 12-13km walk was tough. Sorted out Romiley’s present (guitar stand, music stand and guitar exercises book). Took soime nice photos today as well which I’ve prepared and shared. No booze today/tonight either. Some break, a younger me would say!
Day 265: Friday, and I am typing with a beer, balti on the hob and I am just gonna choose a film and roll a single skinner.
I am knackered. Up at 10am, cleaned the hall and stairs after a 10km walk. Also, I spoke with dad who is, as always, fine.
Time to make up for the last two sober nights.
Day 266: I am typing this on day 267. So drunk last night I left nearll a full can of beer and went to bed in my jogging bottoms and t-shirt. I have had a day off from any exercise at all which felt very odd. A few beers and watched Snatch.
Day 267: While I was nowhere near drunk last night, due to sleeping in late (2pm) I was up ‘til 3am watching TikTok so today I struggled out of bed at just before 1pm. Watch the start of the season’s final GP (Verstappen won from pole and it was boring af), back on the exercising including a 9km walk. Back to work tomorrow which I feel totally conflicted about!
Posh won yesterday at home to Rochdale (with the allowed 2000 fans) 4-1 including a 17 minute first half hatrick from Jonson Clarke-Harris.
Day 268: Back to work - Sueanne’s off and it’s the first day I’ve been at work with Jon in charge which involves a daily ‘SUMO’ (whatever that acronym stands for?) at 9.30am every day. I am still involved with te qfiniti upgrade project which seems to have taken a step backwards in the 3 days I had off, so I was working until gone 9.30pm!
I have decided to do a quiz, hopefully for Christmas, whereby I don’t want the actual answers (to 25 particular questions, all with a common theme in the answer), merely an omitted question!
Day 269: Stand Up Meeting Online. SUMO. Ian Bird told me. I might struggle with double Y for my quiz. Work was OK, more Qfiniti stuff. Posh drew away to MK 1-1. Posh were 0-1 up but Lincs lost at home. I can’t undertsand why that pleases me so....oh, yeah I can Steve Dee.
Day 270: Struggling to order Dad and Rita booze for Christmas without it being a Morrison’s delivery that I can do through Amazon Prime. That would be OK but it’s just a bit clinical! Meanwhile, now I am paying for Prime, and they are showing some Premiership games (for example, tonight I watched Liverpool v. Spurs (2-1), I really have to contact Sky - I am paying £71pm atm!
Sam posted pic of her Christmas tree but mentioned how she’s finding it hard to get in the spirit - Paul has testicular cancer and the outlook is bleak - fuck know’s what she’s going through with all that, trying to shield Romiley from the worst without lying!
