Low energy Devotional Acts for when you don’t have a lot of energy (or time, or money, etc.) pt. 8

🌾Demeter🌾

- if able go on a walk and enjoy the outdoors doesn’t have to be anywhere fancy it could literally just be a walk around the block

- if you can’t go on a walk either sit outside for a bit or just open some windows for some fresh air

- play farming simulator (you think I’m joking but I’m not) or watch vids of ppl playing it

- watch documentaries or do a deep dive on farming and all the stuff that goes with it (maybe you’re wanting to know more about tractors, or farming techniques over the years, etc.)

- if able attend a farmer’s market or look into any that are in your area you don’t necessarily need to buy anything you could just go look around (I do that regularly)

- learn about the role of a farmer and what it’s like to be a farmer (I worked on a farm for a bit in high school and while I loved it I couldn’t do it as a living it takes a very special someone to do it) and look up ways you can support them

- learn about the native plants in your area

- watch foraging videos and learn about it (how to safely do it especially, if it’s something you wish to do at some point)

- if able support local farmers by buying their products (I know here in wi it’s not uncommon for farm stands to pop up this time of year and they sell all sorts of stuff for good prices! One in my town sells the best corn and for only $1 a piece which is perfect)

- point out cows, horses, sheep, goats, etc. while going by them in the car

- learn about homesteading and watch videos about it (though I will issue a heads up that some of these folks veer into uh….’crunchy’ beliefs so just be careful I guess)

- look up recipes you’re interested in trying, try to write your own recipe, or cook something using a family recipe/you’d own recipe if able

- enjoy a fruit, vegetable, or grain/bread product! Have some toast with jelly/jam! Have a salad! A fruit cup! The fruit/veggies can be frozen as well. It’s still that fruit/veggie.

- listen to a devotional playlist for Her

- listen to nature soundscapes

- learn your rights and by the gods I can’t stress this enough (if you rent learn your tenants rights, learn your workers rights, etc.)

- watch a war movie, show, or documentary (plugging Band of Brothers again because there’s some examples of excellent leadership and all that)

- read or listen to an audiobook about war (can be fiction or nonfiction- my personal favorite is Conversations With Major Dick Winters it’s great)

- listen to a devotional playlist for Her

- is there a weapon you’re interested in? Or maybe a style of combat? Or something else pertaining to combat? Read about it! Watch a video about it!

- if able pick up a handicraft of some sort: knitting, crocheting, sewing, etc.)

- if unable to do that watch tutorial videos for it (I can knit but can’t crochet to save my life but I love watching crocheting videos)

- read or listen to an audiobook about literally anything

- if you’re a student, and are able, do some studying

- or just watch documentaries or read articles and such about stuff that interests you

- if able play a strategy game if unable to do so look up videos for techniques for strategy games you like and pick up some new tricks for when you next play!

- if able do a puzzle (can be as simple or complex as you want)

- if able do something like a word search, sudoko, crossword, etc.

*just want to clarify that by short form I mean youtube video uploads not youtube shorts. like videos to the channel not to the shorts/tiktok like content bit.

my answer to this is kind of one long yap. also did not put a third option for no preference bc ik a lot of answers will be ill watch anything from them and whilst i get that i want to see if there is an actual preference between the two so pls pick which u like/prefer or even engage with more

I think generally I prefer long content but it is also very dependent upon what the video is about. what I am trying to get at tho is I would love to see dan and phil play some different longer game series. yes I am thinking about life is strange AGAIN but I really would like a series like that and I genuinely would not mind if the wait between videos was longer than more frequent short form videos

just my opinion tho bc obviously we have no say over the dnp games channel but I feel long form game series may be a popular move?? but at the same time people may not have the time to watch and keep up with long videos/series. in the example of life is strange I guess the actual first game is quite old now but I still see people playing it on youtube for the first time and it’s still a popular game so I don’t really think that is an issue. obviously dnp know what sorts of games and uploads get more views and engagement (not saying that that’s the most important thing about uploading but it is definitely important to consider) so that impacts what they play too. hmmm I don’t know how to phrase it so I hope it sounds alright buttttt I do wonder if long form content or just a new series would do better on the channel and bring in new viewers? there is obviously a huge nostalgia factor with dapg and there’s still the core fandom that engages but I wonder whether content length impacts any growth in new viewers?

there is clearly the issue with long form content simply taking way longer. it obviously takes longer for dnp and their editors but also for viewers to have the time to spend on a series so maybe long form is not a popular move bc of that reason

nowww this also leads to a 4th option I wanted in the poll but I took out is whether people would want dapg youtube shorts. because reallllly super short content like shorts reels tiktok whatever else is so popular atm and so many highlights or funny moment clip things exist I wonder if that is a direction dapg will go in. I know dan isn’t rly a fan of all that especially tiktok but imo some of phil’s youtube shorts on lessamazingphil are still funny I just wonder if dapg shorts will ever become a thing and not even necessarily new content just like highlights or idk outtakes of a video like the ones anthony posts from his interviews. the highlights of the vid with dan seem to have got a lot of engagement too although ik anthony is a very popular creator still and his rebranded content continues being popular so I just wonder if dapg will ever have that kinda shorts thing going on??

I also think the times they’ve used the community tab to do polls or just general discussion has been fun and it just kinda gives the channel more personality imo!

again I just wanted to yap there is like 0 seriousness in this or what dapg should post bc I do watch whatever they put out I just wonder if there will be a shift in content and if that would impact the channel overall. idk!!

okay strap in lol

[idol au] the first souyo au i came up with was my idol au way back in october. over time i've thought about making them both actors or youtubers or something, but I like the idol version the most cause I like idols lol

either way, this is just my excuse to have fans of souyo actually interact with them HAHA, they'd both have their own little fanbases and those fanbases would be making like “are they secretly together?! 15 minute souyo compilation” vids and whatever lol, just like real fan bases. I like the idea of them being idols because idols usually do a lot of casual life stuff, which would be prime fodder for shipper minds…

in my mind, souji would be the most popular member of their group, and would have solo performances as well. yosuke would only perform with the same group as souji, and would have a smaller fanbase but it would be pretty dedicated (just like real life lol). He’d be a massive souji oshi (sorry i'm gonna use the phrase oshi from now on cause i am a nerd but it just is slang for "favorite idol/actor/person") and go to all his solo concerts. Souji wouldn’t be able to go to any of yosuke’s performances since he’d also be performing, but he would run a fan account secretly and buy all of yosuke’s merch and go to all the pop-up collabs just to get the limited photo cards and whatnot lol.

I think they would totally push their own ship for their own self-interest, like if he’s never gonna fall in love with me at least there’s a fun excuse to get him to pretend he does, and so it gets worse and worse until everyone thinks, are they actually dating? Are they trying to create a scandal? (they would not complain if there was a scandal)

[theatre au] my next souyo AU is a theatre AU. it was originally supposed to be high school, and be really self indulgent, but japan doesn't do theatre the way america does LOL so it might have to be college instead. and i don't know if it'll ever go anywhere since writing is not my strong suit but i was planning on writing a longform fic for it, so here you can have my notes from back then instead, sorry they’re so long:

Yasogami theatre department is doing a classic this year: Romeo and Juliet

Souji is a second year transfer student who applies for a role in the fall play and not only gets in, but gets into the lead role of romeo, so obviously everyone’s talking about how talented he is for getting chosen over the third years and how he had so much chemistry with the first year professional actress who got chosen to play Juliet

Rise is Juliet lol she’s talented as hell and super popular from her time being an actual actress, she’s taking a break between roles in order to go to school but that won’t stop her from flaunting her talent and continuing to act, she’s rather sweet and she does like Souji but understands exactly how gay he is for the sound technician/temporary costume crew member

Yosuke is the sound technician and has been since he transferred in during his first year, though he’s usually on the sidelines and not many people hang out with him, but he’s talented when it comes to handling all the different moving parts of a production and has been doing it on his own for the two productions he’s been a part of

Since he’s the only sound technician he has to stay after school like every single day once the show gets going but since they don’t necessarily need him all the time he helps out other crew members when he’s not busy, so this time around since kanji’s a little overwhelmed with making all the costumes for the production he helps out in the costume department

chie and Yukiko are also actors? What role would they play in Romeo and Juliet? Well no matter what they would probably have pretty important roles that would involve them spending a lot of time around Souji just for that maximum jealousy

Kanji is obviously the head of the costume department, Yosuke has been around long enough to not be intimidated by him any more so that’s why kanji comes to him + kanji knows Yosuke has to be around anyways so he puts Yosuke to work

Probably the last person to be in costumes was a third year so kanji’s all alone as a first year and gets overwhelmed and stuff

Naoto?? Ohh naoto would be on props and set design maybe since they’re good at making things like gadgets, and they’re pretty close with kanji because of that though they’re still awkward with each other

Saki was probably a third-year when Yosuke was a first year, and turned him down because she just didn’t like him like that and rumor got out that it was because Yosuke was annoying and unhelpful and so that’s why he’s mostly around the first years now because the second and third years all remember that incident from last year. Yukiko and chie are acquaintances with him but don’t know too much about him and yu learns about yosuke’s whole rumor thing and decides to get to know him anyways

SUUUPER fluffy and cheesy with a ton of Romeo and Juliet jokes

Lots of UST from the fact that Yosuke is interacting with a half-naked Romeo for measurements and microphones and crap and since mr Romeo is one of the main roles he’s also always there even when he’s not needed so he ends up hanging out with Yosuke all the time and offers to help him study and walks him home and crap like a real romeo

They watch the Romeo + Juliet movie together one night after studying

Man this is gonna be really fucking American I’m so sorry Japan

souji gets him a bouquet on closing night and they make out during the wrap party

They get assigned as partners for a class project which is how they get closer, though they make acquaintances early on since Yosuke has to mic the cast

this is why Yosuke calls him partner

some cute ideas?

They get caught in the rain

“do I actually have a crush on him or do I just like having a guy in my year as a friend?” asks kanji for advice, kanji’s like “I dunno. I guess you’d probably want to like, kiss them and shit.” then rise pops out of the dressing room and is like “I have some advice for you, hanamura-senpai~ you wanna do dirty stuff with them” and yosuke flushes straight red

yosuke’s more of a film buff than a theatre nerd and he wants to do sound design for a living but he doesn’t feel like he’ll get into college because his grades suck and then souji teaches him how to study properly and by the end yosuke’s like “I need to get into college + I need to get into souji’s college”

souji started theatre because he was made fun of for being so emotionless as a kid and even though he joined to express himself more he still tends to revert back to being blank-faced when he’s not acting so it still seems like a drastic case. His parents don’t really like him being so into theatre and want him to be a doctor or lawyer (his parents are doctor/lawyers) but they realized theatre helps him express himself and well, that’s an important skill for doctors so they let him keep doing theatre even at the new school. He doesn’t want to be a doctor though, he wants to keep acting but he’s scared of what his parents will think and say.

The only thing holding yosuke back from becoming a sound design major is his grades, he tells souji that “sure my dad won’t be happy that I’m choosing a dead-end major with no job security instead of becoming a manager at Junes, but when has my dad yelling at me ever stopped me before?”

Actual outline for first chapter (unfinished)

Second year classroom, Souji gets introduced by King Moron as a transfer student, classroom is in a little bit of chaos because Souji is cute and there’s already been rumors that he signed up for auditions for the newest play alongside Risette

Yosuke is a little uninterested and jealous because he definitely didn’t get this kind of reception when he transferred in during the middle of last year

Meanwhile, Chie asks if Souji can sit next to her and Yukiko

Class starts after King Moron gets annoyed and starts yelling

After class, Chie and Yukiko start talking to Souji, and Chie eventually asks him whether the rumors are true and if he’s really going to audition alongside THE risette and he replies cooly “yeah”

Before everyone leaves, Souji goes out of his way to turn around and introduce himself to Yosuke as well, and Yosuke is a little surprised but introduces himself politely, a little subdued and not into the interaction and Souji seems to pick up on this, frowning but resigned

Yosuke starts thinking about Souji and theatre as he packs up, thinking about how Souji seems nice but probably will ignore Yosuke just like his other classmates after what happened with Saki last year, even if he doesn’t know about yosuke’s backstory at the moment

He’s walking to the drama room since he’s a second year so he already has things to start on, and they’ve announced the play today and he needs to know so he can get started on sound work and helping out the others

He sees people crowding around the audition signups, and turns out they’re looking at Risette’s signature and taking pictures, and also looking at Souji’s name, besides each of their names are the roles they’d prefer playing and of course Risette went for Juliet and Souji went for Romeo

Yosuke doesn’t realize that the play is Romeo and Juliet until he sees the signups, and is immediately annoyed because now he’ll have to see people make Romeo and Juliet jokes all term + annoyed that of course Souji went for the Romeo role, probably just wants to get w/ Risette because ofc she’s gonna get the Juliet role she’s a professional actress

At least Risette probably won’t hear about the thing that happened last year too quick since she’s a first year, so maybe Yosuke can make a good impression when it comes to probably the only half-okay thing about this play

Anyways he heads for the drama room, meets with the drama teacher/director (mr hosoi?) and figures out that there’s even fewer people in crew this year since a lot of the people who tended to hop between the two decided to give cast a shot since risette was in the play

so yosuke has to help out with other things, and he won’t have any help with sound really

ayane’s introduced here and yosuke manages to put on a nice smile but she seems REALLY unreliable and he’s resigned to having to manage her while balancing the billion other things he’s got to do. Really, it’s like he’s the assistant student director without the title

[vampire souji and werewolf yosuke au]

this one is really self explanatory, it’s just an excuse for me to think about dogboy yosuke some more lol. I think the rest of the IT would be different supernatural creatures as well, so that they can all hang out. No personas, and they’d probably be in college or something if I ever made something for this au specifically.

[spiderman au]

i've posted this one a few times before (links here and here), but basically yosuke is spiderman, souji is mj, rise is the woman in the chair helping yosuke out. souji is a curious student reporter looking to find out the secret behind the mask (but when he does he obviously doesn't report on it). yosuke starts to get to know souji through school, and they partner up for a school project, while rise's tearing her hair out over the fact that yosuke's getting a crush on the guy who's trying to unmask him. i think it'd be pretty fluffy tho if you wanted to go more angsty spiderman, saki would make a good gwen stacy

[idol souji and junes employee yosuke au]

okay now my silliest AU is. really dumb and i've never talked about it, but it's kind of my favorite lol. in this one, souji's an idol, while yosuke's still just working a normal job as a manager in some tokyo junes. they never met during high school, so yosuke's kind of just drifting by as his pre-social link self, going to work, coming home, average capitalism grind yknow? except in his spare time, he's a massive risette/kanamin oshi, like MASSIVE. he spends all his money on idol goods and lives in a one bedroom apartment with that one bedroom being an idol shrine, like just awful cringiest deepest secret no person would want to touch that with a 10 foot pole. so he's a decently respectable junes manager with a secret weird hobby. life is pretty alright for him, he enjoys his idols well enough, but one day they go onto a variety show with a bunch of other groups. and wouldn't you know it, they've managed to pull the hottest most popular idol in japan right now, seta souji, for their performance tonight. male idols were never even on yosuke's radar before this, because male idols are for loser otaku women and yosuke's not gay. except… this guy is really… cute… and hot… and charismatic…

and suddenly cut to yosuke a few months later, shrine overtaken with souji merch and posters and photocards and… two distinct life size cardboard cutouts…? and he's on 2chan roasting all of souji's haters and now his terrible idol habit is even deeper of a secret because he's kind of obsessed with souji. but he's still working as a normal junes manager, and he's absolutely flawless about keeping up appearances so that nobody suspects anything about him.

one day at junes, though, he spots the hottest man he has ever seen (besides souji, ofc) shopping and makes an absolute fool out of himself. i'm talking stammering, stuttering, and eventually spilling his mop water all over Hot Guy's expensive designer clothes because he is just way too attractive for yosuke to keep it together. yosuke apologizes desperately and is like is there any way i can make it up to you, dreading the drycleaning bill, to which Hot Guy responds, you can repay me by letting me take you out on a date. oh sure, sure, a date… HUH? souji takes his stunned silence as reluctance, and is like sorry, i thought you were interested, i'll just go now… and yosuke yet again trips all over himself to be like no holy shit idc what this means for my sexuality

he has no clue what Hot Guy's name is, so he asks, and Hot Guy responds with narukami yu (gasp, shocker!!) seta souji is so popular that he is not allowed to go outside as himself, he's disguised with a beanie and different hairstyle and different makeup and a new wardrobe and of course, a different name. so yosuke just thinks he's somehow found some super rich hot guy off the streets of tokyo that happens to match his exact type (his type being japan's number one idol Seta Souji)

so they go out on their date and their chemistry is kind of insane, yosuke has the time of his life (i'm thinking yosuke probably didn't get out much either before this, probably dated like maybe one person at most, he's a homebody) and at the end yosuke's like man, this food was great, i wish i could eat like this every day. yu is like, i can cook for you, yosuke thinks when did i die and go to heaven why is this guy even interested in me but he accepts, goes to yu's extremely expensive designer apartment the next night, and there yu is like, i really like you, will you go out with me, of course yosuke accepts

turns out souji's cousin, nanako, goes to this junes and has talked about this very cheerful, clumsy, cute manager, and souji decides to do some recon because that's totally his type, falls in love from afar, and takes the opportunity when he gets dirty mop water all over him to ask yosuke out. except now that they're dating, he can't seem to figure out how to tell yosuke that he's actually seta souji, not narukami yu. and yosuke's getting a little suspicious. however, yosuke still pretends he is not a massive souji seta oshi, and even though he's comfortable enough to admit his appreciation for risette and kanamin, he has no intentions of ever divulging his seta shrine lol

probably one day, they're out drinking, enjoying themselves, and stumble back drunk to yosuke's apartment cause it's closer. except yosuke still has not talked about his thing, and souji still hasn't talked about HIS thing, and as they stumble into yosuke's tiny one bedroom apartment and yu fumbles the door to the singular bedroom open, they both see the shrine at the same time. and at the same time, yosuke blurts out "i can explain" while yu says "i'm seta souji"

and then reveal shenanigans, yosuke totally freaks out and gets super embarassed, while souji is kind of amused and very very touched that his boyfriend loves both sides of him so much, and jokes about how yosuke doesn't have to settle for cardboard now (yosuke dying of embarassment)

and he gets introduced to risette and kanamin and gets to freak out about that too

WOW i really just wrote a synopsis huh… i hope you enjoy reading through all that, the 2 people who made it to the end i love you xoxoxo

WIP Wednesday - Valentines Style

i'm not a fan of valentines. i'm not a fan of holidays, in general. but, i thought something fluffy and waffy might be nice for WIP wednesday. the coemancer crew did an art dump for valentines (sorry for not being involved, but i have almost no free time. this has been a hell month for me at work), but i'll tag them anyway @silurisanguine, @fangbangerghoul, @eridanidreams, @staticpallour, @bearlytolerant, @a-cosmic-elf, @aro-pancake, @atonalginger, @samcoesclub, and anyone else i'm forgetting.

i'm planning on publishing the next chapter on friday. it's written, but needs editing.

so, a fluffy little piece. i'm not sure if this will be part of the next chapter, or as a stand-alone vignette.

Valentines fluffy sneak peek

Hwa felt like she was on a cloud, and was grinning from ear to ear like a maniac. As she and Sam walked back to the Razorleaf, she kept looking up at him and found him looking down at her, with the same grin. “I have never really walked much around Akila. Can you play tour guide for me?” she asked.

Sam smiled, “We’ve got time. Sure.” He grabbed her hand and started leading her around, pointing out his favorite places, where he got in trouble for spray painting a wall, where he had his first kiss. She honestly was only paying half attention to him. What was really occupying her mind was him holding her hand. While they’d held each other’s hands many times before, it was always when they were alone together. She had never in her entire life held someone’s hand in public. Public displays of affection were utterly alien to her, and even something as innocent as holding hands was making her feel a bit dizzy. She felt like she was vibrating and wondered if Sam could feel it through her hand.

Hwa realized he must have, as he paused when they rounded a corner in Midtown. He peered down at her, “Are you OK?” he asked. They had stopped right next to a stairwell that was shaded from the sun. Sam pulled her into the shadows away from the pedestrian traffic.

She tried to speak, but ended up emitting a high pitched squeak instead.

“What was that?” he asked, wide eyed and laughing. “I didn’t think I caught that!”

Hwa laughed, covering her mouth and turning bright red. She tried again, “Umm…this will sound weird, but…I have never held hands with anyone in public before,” she said in an unusually high, whispery voice.

“Seriously?” he asked incredulously.

“Yes. I mean, I’ve never really been in a romantic relationship before,” she stuttered out. “Not a lot of romance going on in organized crime, frankly. At least, not for me.” She tried to affect an airy, casual voice. It came out sounding slightly hysterical instead.

“Heh, I feel like I”ve been lied to by movies and vids,” he mused. “You’ve really never been romantically involved with…anyone?”

“I told you, all relationships were transactional. I mean, sex is just sex. It has nothing to do with emotions.”

“I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily true, but I can see what you mean,” he interrupted. “So, when we’ve had sex…”

Hwa shook her head, “That was different already!” she said a bit frantically. “I was already in love with you, but I didn’t know how you felt. I mean, the attraction was there, but…”

Sam nodded, “sex is sex.”

“Yes.”

“Ok, so what is it about holding hands that has you…well, you’re kinda physically buzzing. I can feel it in your hands.”

“This feels,” and she held up his hand in hers, “this feels really, really intimate.”

“But, sex doesn’t?”

“Sex is a physical need. Biological imperative, and all. It has nothing to do with intimacy.”

Sam shook his head baffled, “I don’t know if I agree with that, but I can see what you’re saying. How is holding hands more intimate than sex?”

Hwa sighed, seeing she wasn’t making much sense to him. Frankly, it didn’t make a lot of sense to her, either. But, he asked, and she could only respond honestly. “Because holding hands isn’t necessary. It’s a choice. And, it’s a…a public choice. It’s like saying, ‘this is mine’. I’ve never had anyone…I’ve never had anyone,” here she looked at the ground, “I’ve never had anyone who wanted me.”

“Ahh,” Sam said after a moment, “sex is sex.” Hwa nodded, seeing he understood what she was saying. “Oh, Hwa, I love you. I’m madly in love with you. Do you want me to shout it to the stars? Because I will.”

She looked back up into his eyes, “No, that’s not necessary.”

He tilted up her chin and kissed her softly, which made her shake a bit. Sam looked at her critically again, “Let me guess, first kiss in public?” She nodded and blushed again. “Oh wow. Then, like…” here Sam grinned lasciviously at her, “I’m your…first?”.

“Oh my god, I shouldn’t have said anything,” Hwa blushed an even darker red.

“No, no! It’s cute! And, you’re even more beautiful when you blush,” he said, and with his body pushed her against the wall, deeper into the shadows.

Hwa started shaking her hands again, which Sam grabbed with one hand. With his other, he leaned up against the wall, pressing her body against it, and kissed her more passionately. He broke the kiss, and stared into her eyes, “I want you,” he said throatily.

She involuntarily squeaked again, which made Sam laugh, breaking the mood. “OK, might be a little too much?” he asked, backing off a bit. She nodded, noticeably trembling and shaking her hands. He kissed the top of her head. “What do you think of public displays of affection?” he asked.

“I don’t know,” she said in another squeaky voice, her eyes wide and confused.

Sam laughed and took her hand and kissed it. “You are the damndest woman,” he said, shaking his head. “Just when I think I have you figured out, you go and blow all of my ideas out of the water.” He led her back out onto the walkway, smirking, “But, I like the idea that I’m your first.”

jt (finally) watches warrior nun - s2 e1 (pt 2)

Alright, so from the first post, the things I wanted to talk about in that first avatrice scene were: 1) how tense Beatrice is, 2) conversely, how easily she bends to Ava, and 3) that was not the first time Ava has kissed Beatrice.

I talked a bit about the emotional tension that Beatrice was carrying in the last post, so let’s talk about the physical tension - which also leads into the 2nd point about how she bends to Ava (and also the cheek kiss lol)

First, can we give KTY all the accolades for her choices in this scene? We get so much from Beatrice in just over a minute of screen time:

snippiness

a lecture (which is the closest we get to s1 Bea but it’s wrapped in something like a plea that makes it feel different)

the quick improvisation that reminds you of what she’s capable of (i.e. not just able to kill a man but also to make herself invisible if she needs to)

suspicion (which, now that I think about it, is kinda reminiscent of her calling out Lilith outside of Arq-tech in s1 e4

pride (which I absolutely love and will talk about more below)

her softness at the mention of Mary

and of course, the most perfect impersonation of a computer restart lol

I mean, look at all that! So sososo much in one minute! Geez. All the awards to KTY.

Anyway, Bea’s hella tense in this scene and, as mentioned in the replies of the first post, it makes a lot of sense considering how out in the open they are here. I get this feeling that without the structure (and scripture) of the OCS, Bea has this need to double down on holding herself in (and running from her own feelings). And she’s trying so hard here. She keeps defaulting to that strictness, what with the mini-lecture and the suspicion, but she can never hold on to it for very long, can she? Because Ava’s right there to make her bend.

Two moments in particular: First, the “exceptionally well-organized” line (0:59 in this vid), look at how her posture changes.

I love how Beatrice straightens here, almost as if she’s standing for judgement - and expecting praise. Which she probably received when she was back at Cat’s Cradle. But they’re not at Cat’s Cradle now, and what she receives instead - at least what she seems to take it as - is admonishment. I mean, look at her reaction:

She ducks her head as if chastised, even gives Ava a nod like a sullen child. But I don’t think Ava quite meant it as a critique, yknow? There’s a fondness in her voice, in her smile, teasing even - and of course, the gentle reminder (1:08), “You don’t have to be so perfect all the time,” where KTY again gets all the awards for how she puts so much in how Beatrice hesitates in looking back up at Ava, that almost stuttered breath she takes in when she does. Goddamn, KTY, such a great performance, showing just how deeply Ava has gotten under Beatrice’s skin.

The second moment where Beatrice bends to Ava, not as evident as the above but it’s still there, is in response to Ava’s “Yes, mother.” Which, huh, I guess Ava realized the best way to get Beatrice to bend is to tease her lol

Beatrice ducks her head just for a moment and yknow, I wonder if that’s what tipped Ava over the edge - it is kind of adorable, the way Bea just accepts the teasing. But also it’s like, here Beatrice is with the girl she loves (as mentioned in the replies to that first post, my thought is that Beatrice is well aware of her feelings by now) and idk, I get the feeling that she doesn’t necessarily want to be so strict - this is Ava, who wants to live and chat up customers and swim and run and do all the things. But Beatrice’s mission is to train Ava so she wins, so she stays alive, so if Bea has to endure some teasing, so be it.

And that leads into that third and last point: I really think that this wasn’t the first time Ava’s surprised Beatrice with a kiss. I mean, look (1:26) how Ava doesn’t hesitate in leaning in, doesn’t even think about it afterward, doesn’t say anything about Beatrice’s wide-eyed, frozen expression. Just skips away without a care in the world.

And Beatrice, for all her shock, recovers well - too well, I think. She just kinda … accepts it. If this was the first time, my thought would be that she’d go into some kind of panic or guilt mode, yknow?

But she doesn’t here - sure she needs a second, but then she blinks, remembers to breathe, straightens to her usual posture. And again, awards to KTY because there’s so much in that look she has at the end:

It’s almost like resignation - perhaps this thought that that’s all things will ever amount to be between them, yknow? That it won’t go further; they can’t.

Okay as usual, I have written more than I thought I would lol. I’m going to try to get through the rest the episode this weekend but don’t be surprised if I don’t. Lmk what y’all think!

ok ok ok those who have finished the first 10 chapters of Nightbringer……. Who do we think is Nightbringer???????? My own random guesses under the cut because spoilers for chapter 10 of Nightbringer (EDIT: also I just added lesson 10A spoiler screenshots so spoilers of course)

so the “one sided” convo featuring Solomon in ch 10… again spoilers… implies Nightbringer isn’t a demon (EDIT: kind of. Tbh I’m not sure anymore and am leaning demon aka barb, but I’m leaving what I originally said here anyway. See screenshots below for spoilers). But the intro vid/teaser implies that they are a demon. Hence the confusion. I mean… we know angels can become demons and humans, but can the reverse be true? I don’t know. Have we been told at any point that the reverse is possible? To have a deal of some kind with Solomon though… I’d assume at the very least they are not human although that doesn’t necessarily mean they were never human. Ok now I’m just getting into the weeds with this. I also didn’t reread anything so this is straight up me rambling right after reading that lesson and being confused as fuck.

1. Barbatos from another timeline?? The intro makes you think it’s barbatos in some form, at the very least.

2. God??? Lol if we’re truly following the story of the actual king Solomon… but I don’t know if they’d really go there. But it would make the most sense in a way LOL though the pseudonym “nightbringer” seems wrong for this guess

3. Michael because idk he exists and I don’t know enough about him to decide either way

4. Lilith but that feels conspiratorial to say

5. Diavolo’s dad because why are they bringing him up this much… but again this doesn’t totally fit with what we’ve been told about this “demon” so it would need some explaining

6. Someone else completely who we haven’t met or maybe who was mentioned a few times in passing idk

Having some werewolf thoughts. Currently thinking about voracious people nomming, the benefits of being undead, and alike amalgam werewolf packs (think that music vid Du Riecht So Gut). Some vampire/sorcerer stuff added like being able to turn into lots of different things and swarms of things.

So. Lupines! Moonkin! Animalfolk! Werewolves! Call em what ya want, I’m using lupines cause I think its fun.

A ‘species‘ of shapeshifting magical beings or humans afflicted with a magical curse or people bless by the moon? Who the fuck knows, they don’t. They don’t even agree on what they’re called. Some are born with the power, some acquire it during their life, some after their death. Can turn others into lupines under certain circumstances, tho the transformation can fail partway through and cause the infected to turn into a vampire instead.

Basic Abilities:

1. Shapeshifting.

All lupines can shapeshift. Typically into a furry carnivorous beast of similar size to their base form. Transformations initially triggered by exposure to the light of a full moon or seeing a full moon, strong emotions, and extreme hunger. As the lupine grows in experience they can triggers transformations voluntarily and even include their clothes into the transformation and avoid being naked when transforming back to their human shape.

Shapeshifting makes lupines hungry b/c their body is using a lot of energy to turn into something else.

Lupines can gain larger transformations by accumulating mass either via overeating or merging with another lupine member or their pack/coven/troop. Lupines are prone to overeating while moondrunk (forced to transform by the full moon) and tend to be bigger the day after the full moon.

Lupines are not restricted into turning into furry carnivorous beasts. The most common transformation is wolves and dogs due to similarity in size, that most have seen or heard off a wolf/dog, and or there being local cultural links to wolves and moonlight or nighttime. In places where bears, big cats, or hyeanas are more commonly the ‘big dangerous furry thing‘ then lupine uncontrolled transformations will lean in those directions.

Lupines can transform into any kind of animal but are unlikely to be able to turn into a specific individual without merging with them. Trying to transform into an animal smaller than the lupine can result in several outcomes depending on the level of control or lack of it the lupine has. For example trying to transform into a crow could result in:

- human sized crow - a crow sized crow that weighs as much as their base form - turning part of themselves into an entire crow and the rest into an insensate blob of flesh detached from the part that became a crow - turning into a flock of crows weighing the same amount collectively as their human form

If part of their body is destroyed when transformed into a smaller creature with most of their mass just sitting around as a flesh blob or transformed into a swarm of small creatures they can only regain that lost mass by consuming more mass. If part of a werewolf remains detached for more than 24 hrs it becomes its own organism.

2. Healing.

Derived from their shapeshifting abilities, lupines can heal from just about any normal injury with enough time, food, and shapechanging. If worse comes to worse a lupine could loose most of their body and survive in a small form and regenerate from there by consuming enough food.

Injuries caused by magic (either blessed materials, certain kinds of plants, some kinds of metals like silver) can disrupt a lupine’s magic making healing and shapeshifting difficult leading to things like scars, missing limbs, loss of senses, and brain damage.

3. Near Immortality.

Lupines are incredibly difficult to kill due to their shapeshifting and healing. They do not die of old age. They don’t necessarily stop aging but might not age if they don’t think about it/aren’t around nonlupines much. Lupines are not immune from getting sick but they won’t die from it.

Alone, decapitation could not kill a lupine. But setting every part of the lupine on fire until there’s nothing but ash can kill them.

4. Merging.

Lupines can learn to merge with other living beings. The most common use of this ability is for packs of lupine to merge together, sharing mass and information and power to transform into larger shapes or help injured packmates heal.

Lupines can merge with nonlupines but if the lupine doesn’t cancel out the merge within a few hours the nonlupine ends up getting digested and added to the lupine’s mass. Nonlupines that merge with lupines frequently enough can end up getting infected with lycanthropy and becoming lupines (if originally humans) or monster beasts/animal gods (if originally nonhuman) over time.

Lupines with very high skill can merge with vegetation or inanimate objects to hide.

Changing others.

Lupines can transform humans into lupines (successful) or vampires (unsuccessful). Merging repeatedly has a high chance of turning a human into a lupine. Other methods involve consuming lupine flesh (moderate chance of turning) and blood or saliva contamination in wounds/mucus membranes (low chance of turning).

Certain bodies of water or types of flowers flowing/growing near lupine graves has a very low chance of turning someone.

Humans infected with lycanthropy can fail to become lupines and instead turn into vampires. Vampires are boneless creatures ruled by their hunger and exist entirely in a moondrunk state. They are nocturnal and have a difficult time holding onto a shape if they haven't recently eaten. Vampires can be disoriented by bright lights (including very bright sunlight) and like to hide in small enclosed spaces like tree hollows and graves. Vampires have the same weaknesses as lupines but can be more easily injured by sharp objects. Vampires will turn into who or what they’ve most recently eaten, few are able to hold onto their pre-vampirization memories. Vampires can be a major vector for disease depending on their diets and grooming habits.

Like, lupines vampires are good at accumulating mass and healing from just about everything. They can also merge with other vampires to make larger forms.

Social habits.

Lupines are not much different than humans socially. While they can form packs/covens/troops not belong to one isn’t particularly harmful to their health. Some lupines can go their entire life without running into another of their kind and aren't particularly bothered by it.

Hierarchy formation runs similar to that of human groups. Leader type folks tend to lead, leaders aren’t strictly necessary or even form in every group. While there are lupines that might use alpha/beta/etc titles those tend to be ones that didn’t grow up around other lupines or they don’t know much about how wolf packs are run. Some lupine raised lupines might use such terms as a joke, usually to make fun of someone.

Lupines share just as much capacity for being decent people or evil shits or just regular folks as humans. Unfortunately for them, the majority of folks dedicated to hunting ‘monsters‘ tend not to care if the monster in question is a decent person or not. As to most monster hunters, being nothuman/not a natural creature is a good reason to try to kill them.

baking happens after you use all of your liquid and cream products. so foundation, concealer, cream, blush, etc.

(ex. cream blush would go before baking but powder blush can go after bc there’s no need to bake it)

baking is typically for full/heavier faces of makeup so it’s not a commonly used for makeup trends lately since they focus more on natural “no makeup” makeup. instead they use a light layer of setting powder (also used for making) or a pressed powder to set their face. it’s not even always used all over, sometimes just in my oily spots.

i personally just set under my eyes and use setting spray for the rest of my face because i hate looking too matte (but i do keep pressed powder on me when it’s hot out just to get rid of any oil that may show up throughout the day)

so baking doesn’t necessarily come after contour if the contour is powder, i’m p sure you can do it after. i’ll try to find a good tutorial but tiktoks search system is so fucked rn so give me some time.

you can do your base routine before or after eye makeup it’s really just a personal preference. i do mine before bc i have my go -to eye routine so on lock that i’m not concerned about fucking it up. i know a lot of professional make up artists do it first bc sometimes the way their eye makeup looks will dictate the placement of some parts of their base routine.

contour goes on the parts of your face where there are shadows. hollows of your cheeks, jawline, nose. i’ve been told to blend cheek contour upwards to make your face more sharp looking, and blend your jaw contour down to achieve that same effect.

bronzer (if you’re into that) would go on the parts of your face that the sun hit bc it’s supposed to warm you up. i tend to skip this step bc there aren’t a lot of cool toned bronzers.

idk if you put eyeshadow under your eyes too but i think it looks really nice. a small brush + blending it out just a bit under your waterline + eyeliner in your waterline!!! so good

i don’t have the right eyes for lashes (f in the chat for me) so i just really make sure my mascara is a good one. essence lash princess (the one with the green on it) is super affordable and very good. also maybelline has a shit time of popular and really good mascaras that are cheap as hell

pastes/pomades for brows are great, i use one regularly but i’m very light with my strokes bc i was once told i look like a villain if my brows are too bold. brow pencils are also great if you want preciseness

i also learned how to do my makeup through trial and error. a LOT of trial and error bc i A) suck at follow tutorials and B) didn’t have similar features to any of the people i was watching. so i just had to figure it out on my own so i really recommend that no matter what tutorials you watch A) adapt them to your face shape and B) continue using trial and error and explore your face and features on your own

i have like old mascara that i inherited from one of my sisters so ill prolly get a new one soon thank u for the tips, and for the eyebrows i have the clay/pomade like i told u but i got too light of a color so do that first and then i darken it with black eyeshadow and then i sharpen it using concealer which is what u saw in the pic. i think i could stand to make them darker bcos i like bold eyebrows but i guess it might make me look too masculine which would defeat the purpose of wearing the full face of makeup to warp those existing traits

the paragraph about learning through trial and error was literally what i've been doing my entire experience with makeup. no mainstream makeup looks ever complimented me and i wasnt rly going for a drag look bcos i'm trying to be a touch more subtle with it. the problem i was running into which drove me to ask the chat for tips is bcos im self taught that means a lot of stuff i don't know how to works or what to ask or the order etc so you've been extremely helpful on that front especially with building confidence so thank you

This prompt made me realize I don’t think as much of Michael 😭😭 digging thru my Trevor brain-rot brain to find crumbs of Michael ngl

This one isn’t really a headcanon bcz I think it was hinted heavily in canon but I’m not sure— I think Michael may be a sociopath. Doesn’t necessarily make him a bad person, of course, I think he just struggles to emotionally connect with others. Doesn’t mean that he doesn’t want to or can’t FEEL emotion— yes he cares for Amanda, yes he loves his kids, yes he cares for his friends/associates (all in his own way) and doesn’t like killing when it’s senseless (or at least that’s what he tells Trevor, I believe), but he definitely is exploitative and looks for his own benefit

WHICH brings me to my next point which I assume is also fairly popular— Michael’s exploitative nature was heavily expressed towards Trevor, especially in the earlier years after he’d understood that Trevor was really attached to him. So like Trevor was doing shit for him which he knew wouldn’t be done for him in return. There was always an (unintentional?) power dynamic — we know Trevor was relatively “chill”er in his youth, so I think he was more easily influenced by his need to please and be around Michael? Michael also sometimes (both unknowingly some times, and knowingly at others ) used “positive reinforcements” to not only keep Trevor on the right path, but also to keep him dedicated to himself. Why? Because uhh repressed LGBT activity makes a man possessive I guess

How close do you think bakugou and mido were when they were super little (before the bullying started). I've seen people saying that they used to watch all might vids together and that Bakugou refers to Inko as 'auntie' but is this just a headcanon or is it actually canon?

Deku actually explains their set-up in Chapter 9 and then in 119 - they are kids from the same neighbourhood who went to the same schools starting with nursery and played in the same group of 4-5 people.

Actually these other 2-3 (wing guy, blond guy, spiky dark haired guy) kids are always there in every flashback we are shown.

So to me at least there is no evidence that Deku and Kacchan hang out just the two of them without the others. They obviously paid more attention to each other and were obsessed with each other from both sides, but it went un-acknowledged. As Deku says - they just never really talked, even though they were a constant presence in each other lives their whole lives.

There is one single childhood flashback I remember where the others don’t seem to be there.

It’s a memory we see repeated in DvK2

Then again, in Ch 276

It’s always from Kacchan’s point of view - and there are small details that change in the 3 panels (their motions, facial expressions, the background). I wonder if this memory will eventually be important and shed more light on what their relationship looked like back when there was still a chance for Deku to get a quirk too. I’m still hoping HK will give us a flashback to Bakugou’s hero name, and I feel like it would be something tied to a Deku-memory - possibly this one.

Sorry for this long way around - but to summarize, what we see in canon is Kacchan and Deku hanging out around their neighbourhood, almost always in the same group. And while obviously they are watching each other closely and have complexes around each other, there is nothing to suggest that they had special sleepovers or something like that. But also given they always belonged to the same somewhat small group until Deku was bullied out of it, probably they were invited to each other’s birthday parties and stuff like that.

We have never seen them in canon to interact with each other’s parents. But “auntie” I understand is something people can use in Japan to call someone older, though it is not necessarily polite or well-received. So I think that’s definitely a fanfic thing, where people really just picked up from other fics and it became fanon.

We also don’t really know if Mitsuki and Inko were close. We see Mitsuki support Inko in the Deku retrieval chapter - but that’s a pretty extreme situation where they are both in an evacuation camp after a horrible war that left both their kids very injured. So I don’t feel that from that moment you can’t really judge their closeness back when BKDK were kids. They obviously knew each other a long way back from playgrounds and school meetings, but we don’t know if they were more friends or rather just acquaintances.

Re: Alaina Huffman sharing vid from Austin… I like her as an actress, and I think she would be one of the better choices for Walker to cast as she actually has name recognition and some fans (and can convincingly play a character lol). But I kinda don’t wanna see her on the show bc I still remember her having Misha on her podcast a couple years back to whine about how poorly he was treated on SPN and do some Jared-defamation.

I’m petty like that.

Okay, so I had to listen to the podcast (thanks for that), and I had to laugh because he talks about being in his van, so the hosts assume he's on set, but are surprised to learn he's just in his hometown! (Misha's unemployed days). Misha's also sad about not having employment post-SPN (no sympathy from me).

But yes, there's the standard trailer whining, whining about the hate from fans (though not really Jared-defamation), whining about the RA accusations that say he siphoned RA money for his own use (his mother's house... anyone?), etc.

Mostly, it was just really funny because they're acting like Misha's this big star - including Misha (this aired back in 2020), and to see where he is now feels a lot like Karma had a hand. Especially, at the end when asked about the biggest chip on his shoulder, he responded that being bored, sitting in his trailer for hours with nothing to do. Guess what Misha, you did have something to do. You had scenes and character work to occupy your time. The fact that you didn't is on you.

But, I wouldn't necessarily blame Alaina for MIsha's whining. I find he whines anytime he has a platform to do so, and I didn't really hear the hosts join in, rather they were mostly doing the audio equivalent of smiling and nodding.

Woof, this is honestly a pretty hard question, since I can't really name any horror (or otherwise) media that actually left me kind of fucked up for a bit, at least not to the degree where it affected me for a while. I probably haven't been really fucked up by anything since I was a kid, so I'll try and recall what a few things fucked me up back then...

Off the top of my head I know that two different spongebob episodes got me bad, the first being one with that tunnel of love thing (tho tbh i havent seen it in a while so it might still spook me today) and the one where i'm pretty sure for whatever reason squidward gets locked in some small locker and has some kind of fucked up dream, whatever that was. I remember there was an eagle in that one. the eagle terrified me. (i looked them up, and the first episode is titled 'tunnel of glove' and the second is 'squidward in clarinetland'. with how badly that second one got to me, i'm surprised i ended up learning to play the clarinet at all)

other than that, i think the courage the cowardly dog episode 'the house of discontent' got me pretty bad, too, but i think everyone who saw any amount of that series as a kid has at least one episode that got them fucked up.

there's probably a handful of scooby-doo stuff that got to me when i was a kid, but i could not name any specifics (asides from charlie the robot's original episode, christ) because i think i managed to see just about every bit of available scooby media around that time.

nowadays stuff still does kinda fuck me up, but it's usually only for brief bits of time. the most recent example I can think of is cowboy bebop's 20's episode, pierrot le fou, which is honestly some great horror, especially how it uses the show's typical format and flips it on it's head, but i wouldn't necessarily say it got to me because of it being scary, more because of the way the ending disturbed me for a bit. it was the only episode that had me stop afterwards and really look into it for anything other than clarifying a character's gender, lol.

the endings of both neon genesis evangelion and end of evangelion had me shaken, the latter more so than the former, but not really due to horror aspects, though. i did have to take a walk after finishing end of evangelion. i don't really watch horror movies, i just... read the wikipedia plot descriptions of them.

honestly, i think some of the more popular youtube analogue horror series have gotten to me worse (likely due to the fact that they can get a bit more fucked up than, say, a tv show or movie), specifically the walten files (which i did watch) and the mandela catalogue (which i just watched wendigoon's vids on), and those two and mostly because facial distortion is generally just an incredibly effective form of horror imo. a lot of the time (esp with the childhood examples) the way i was 'fucked up' was that id be in be visualizing the stuff that scared me, and both the mandela catalogue and the walten files had me doing that for a bit.

now that i remember it, i was really scared of fnaf when it first came out. i first learned of it second-hand from seeing some other kids looking into it, and the bits and pieces i put together about it really scared me.

honestly, it's usually straight-up disturbing sequences or imagery that gets to me the most, and i know my limits well enough to generally identify and avoid that stuff, which is probably why i don't have too many recent examples. i've got one or two examples of non-horror movies that fucked me up as a kid, but that's mostly because they were wildly inappropriate for someone of my age (at the time) to be witnessing, so that's a different sort of topic.

i mean, i think i generally have a decent tolerance for fucked up stuff in media, anyways, i mean, i enjoy berserk and haven't really been too upset or disturbed by what happens in it (look theres some nasty shit in there im not saying its not that bad) so there's definitionally some kind of line that media needs to cross to really get to me nowadays, or it just needs to be a specific kind of fucked up. books generally don't do that for me so i don't have any book examples. no games, either, though shadow mario and the haunted house segments in super mario 3d world scared me so much that i had to make my mom do the levels for me, and i'm pretty sure scooby doo: first frights scared me a bit when i first played it on ds.

other than that, though, I just think that, in pokemon x, the story that an npc tells you during your first trip to route 14 and then the strange office building encounter with the animation-less hex maniac creeped me out pretty bad.

yeah, it's kind of hard for me to think of anything (recent) that actually really fucked me up or anything. most stuff just scared me, never really fucked me up or figuratively traumatized me in recent years.
