“Not a Pet Darling…” - Various Xianzhou Loufu Characters x GN! Reader

Summary: You go home to your partner and show them the cute fluffy wolf you found!! Can you keep it as a pet? Your partner seems reluctant...why? well it’s a Wooden Lupus…perhaps not the safest option for a companion.

Characters Included (Separate): Jing Yuan, Blade, Luocha, Dan Feng, Fu Xuan, Qingque

Genre: Romantic + Crack(?)

Warnings: None I think

Extra: Dan Fengs part is set during the High-Cloud Quintet days // Not proofread, just a funny idea I had and had to write happy to fix any mistakes tho lol // Dan Feng is probably out of character, just started writing him // Luocha + Qingques one are pretty short

Jing Yuan blinked at you slowly, staring at you and the new canine you brought home that now lay rest on his pillow, your lap. He had just gotten home from work, and wanted to get rewarded by sleeping on your lap, with your fingers running through his hair.

He went home and when he couldn't find you, he went to the garden, only to find a wooden lupus on your lap instead. His eyes narrow as he calmly walks over.

"Dove...what's this?"

"Dog"

The General blinked once, twice and again. Questioning you. How did you manage to tame such...a dangerous animal? An abundance spirit for crying out loud??

"Dove...I...don't think that's a dog"

"No it's name is dog!"

"...Dog?"

He looked at you again, taking a deep breath, noticing the movement from...'dog', he instinctively took out his weapon, to which you quickly caged the canine with your arms and pulled it away.

"Yuan, don't!! It's cute!!"

"...It's dangerous"

You puffed out your cheeks and shook your head, carefully lifting up dog. And made it look at him. Raising one of it's paws you say in a squeaky voice.

"My name is dog, I love you"

"...Dove please..."

You put down the dog back on the ground, it runs around the garden. You stand up and look at your husband.

"You're having favouritism with Mimi right now"

"HOW DOES MIMI FIT INTO THIS"

"SHE JUST DOES."

Blade called out your name again, and again and again. Where are you?? You had to go home. HE HAS THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT ON HIS ASS DON'T DO THIS TO HIM.

WHY ARE YOU CARRYING A WOODEN LUPUS??

He quickly walked up to you and grabbed your shoulder.

"Love...what are you doing?"

"Adopting a friend for you"

"Why for me?"

"...C'mon...you know why"

Blade is personally offended by that comment, but he loves you so you get away with it...for now...

"Can we keep the dog?"

"It's a wolf...but fine, I'm not a dog person though"

Cue him getting the dog it's own mini home, it's own toys and loving it more then he loves you/hj (He loves you more I swear)

You didn't expect Luocha to agree so fast about adopting the dog. You couldn't even ask, he just took one look at you, one look at the dog and gave you...a look that said '...w h y'

But he agrees, (reluctantly) I mean, you tamed it right? He doesn't mind having a dog if it a) makes you happy and b) it behaves. He will say that if it decides to do a stabby stab then he'll have to throw a coffin on it.

And now you have an Abundance wolf following the two of you. You have all the reasonability's, if you ask nicely enough, Luocha might pay for dog things. Make sure he's in a good mood though, not that he'd say no it's just...it's easier to get him to buy a bunch of things if he is.

You named the wolf Bob, Luocha does not approve.

Dan Feng quickly pulled you away from the wolf and quickly hugged you close to him protectively.

"My darling, please get away from that...thing"

"IT'S NOT A THING, IT'S NAME IS FANG"

"YOU NAMED IT??"

You nodded and tried your best to get out of his iron grip but he refused to let go. Too confused on why you not only named a dangerous wolf but also it seems to actually...like you?? What black magic did you use to tame an abundance beast??

Eventually he gives into your pleas, especially since 'Fang' seems to not be...dangerous currently. But he does keep a close eye on it.

"Darling...stop petting Fang...I want attention too"

The Vidyadhara man said, plopping his head on your shoulder as your fingers ran through the fur of the wolf. You slightly glanced at him and mouthed 'One minute'

"You've been at this for hourrss...I am the High Elder, listen to me"

He muttered, wrapping his arms around you. Looking at you like a kicked puppy.

"You're an elder? *Dramatic Gasp* Grandpa"

"YOU'RE MARRIED TO ME."

"No"

Was Fu Xuan immediate response when you entered your shared home. She crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at you. The wolf behind you peaked and looked at the pink haired lady.

"...what do you me-"

"You're not adopting it"

"But-"

"No buts"

You pouted a bit at your girlfriends word. Clearly she had read your future and found what you were going to do...maybe you could try to convince her anyways?

You did not convince her.

Qingque nearly threw her game of majong at the dog. It bonked it's head and you were quick to hug it and check to see if it was okay.

"...[Name]...you can't have that"

"Why not?"

"...well damn I can't argue with that actually"

You smiled triumphantly at your win. You two ended up adopting 11 more.

This was just a random idea I had when I was meant to be sleeping, had to write it lmao. If y'all don't know what the Wooden Lupus are, it's the white wolves that can summon more wolves in HSR.

I had fun writing this ngl, wished I had more ideas for Luocha and Qingque but couldn't. I hope you found this entertaining/funny anyways :D

While you did work with a ton of Aurors there was one in particular you couldn't stand, and maybe it was because he slightly made you weak but it was also just because of his arrogance. You hated how he boasted about how good he was at his job, and how you felt immeasurable compared to him. You wanted the Head Auror position, had been working towards it for a few years now and kept getting sidestepped by Thesus Scamander himself. How his brother was a completely different person, you had no idea. The man never ever let you get more than a few steps in front of you before he came in and stole what you thought was your position away from you.

You back talked to him, trash talked him even said his magic was flimsy, it was not, you just did everything you could to beat him down but it never worked. You knew he hated it, was annoyed by it, and that slightly made it better for you. The teasing and the banter, in your own way was showing him you did in fact want to be better but also that there was some other deeper level of attraction towards him.

It was one night during a particularly tough case that you and Theseus stayed late to work on it, in separate offices of course. You had scanned through some papers and had written up the incident report for the day and was going to drop it off to Thesaurus, not without some banter along the way.

“Well if it isn't the Great Aurora” you said as you hugged the doorway to his office. Thesis huffed a breath and looked up from where he was hunched over a large table in the room.

“What do you want?” he asked, looking at you now. You slowly meandered into the room.

“That's a lot of papers,” you said, ignoring his question.

“Yea, it's from the mess at the docks”

“Ah…I see even your greatness cant solve it” you said, trying at anything for him to take the bait like he sometimes does.

“Again what is it you want” he asked, clearly not amused by what you were saying or baiting.

“Why do you assume I want something?” you asked, snapping a bit at him.

“I don't have time for this y/n '' he said, pulling his attention back to his work, that he had slowly started to put back into piled.

“Aww can't pull yourself away for two minutes” you asked him as he was moving the things off the table, making you lean back on it watching him.

“Y/N '' Theseus said, snapping his head back to you, annoyance ringing clear in your name.

“Poor Theseus can’t…” you were cut off by his lips slamming onto yours, the clear force shoving your hips and ass further into the table. You were caught off guard for the first time in years. He slid his hands onto your waist lifting you without hesitation and putting you on the table. His eyes met yours, the pure lust and hunger on his face made you slowly unravel from the mask you had put on around him.

“Theseus?” you asked slowly wondering what was happening. He stepped back, gathering himself.

“Sorry i…”

“I didn't tell you to stop,” you told him, “I only wanted to know…why?”

“Why? Are you kidding me? For years you have been doing this act this flirtation annoying act…i cant take it for one more moment”

“You knew?”

“Of course I knew, I see how you are around the other Aurors and it's only to me that you do this,” he said, gesturing to you, the attitude you had with him. He walked back over, you let your legs spread apart the skirt you had on rising slowly as you did, showing more and more skin. A growl escaped his lips as he stood in between them.

“You wear those just for me?’ he asked, referencing your skit and the little number you had on underneath that he had a view of.

“Not intentionally” you told him

“Hmm so you just hopped id see your little number?”

“Maybe…maybe I'll bend in front of you, act like I'm going to pick something up and then…leave you there wanting more,” you told him, making him grip your legs.

“Tell me darling…you like being such a brat?” he asked you hand slowly making its way up your body then landing on your neck, wrapping around it slightly. You groaned, rocking your hips against the air, something Theseus caught. “Oh darling, cant be doing that now can you” he said. His other hand sliding up your thigh twords those little red undwewear you put on, and almost right twords your spots but stopping at the top of your thigh and squeezing. You were being teased and you knew it. The amount of restraint he was trying to have, became apparent to you when you saw him eyeing your skin and the hand wrapped around your neck. You wanted him to squeese, wanted him to slip sinde, you wanted all of him, however aggressive. You desperatly wanted that hunger to devour him and consume you. He eyes you again, making your skin heat up more and more from his gaze, his hunger.

“What are you so hesitant about?” you asked him, his eyes jumped to meet yours.

“Dont want to go to far”

“I want to go far with you” you told him, “devoir me baby” you told him, tilting your head up giving him the etire access to yourself. He squeezed your neck pulling himself into you. The squeezing from his hands sent you into space, your kisses were sloppier yes but he didnt care, not one but as he saw the ecstasy on your face. He left your lips, and gassed longly at your neck where is hand was wrapped around it and your eyes were glossy from the feeling. He let go, letting the life return to your eyes. You gazed lost at him, from the relised feeling of his hand and the blood and air circulating back up to your head. He ran his hand down your neck, grazing over your chest before stopping at your waist.

“Darling…” he started, the longing in his face, he wanted something.

“Anything you want” you told him, the look he gave you or terror and pleasure was enought to make you want to brake on this table. He moved your hair back, beefore he took that jacket off leaving just in an almost skin tight blue shirt, showing his flexing msussles underneath and that body you wanted ontop of yours. You pulled him back to you by his belt and pulled your self and him flush while still on that table. He could tell what you waned, and what he was definitely going to do to you. Your underware was slow to be slipped off by the hand that had come back to rest by your thighs. That red piece fell to the floor, leaving the cold air to make you hiss slightly. The building tension you had for him, to do whatever he wanted to you, was insufferable. This shirt was unbuttoned slowly by your hands, wanting to just feel him. Once it was and his shirt fell you knew without even looking that all his windows and the door were locked and no one was interrupting hhat you two were doing. You new a charm of silence and cast it around the room, and the growl from Thesus when he felt it put into place almost made you loose yourself again.

“No interruptions anymore” he said. Slowly most of your cloths were gone, and he stood there watching you, your body, as it cured to his touch. And when it was just the two of you those charms were truly needed. What ou never knew was how much thesusu enjoyed chocking you and how much he enjoyed bitting you, your neck, your thighs. You never wanted him to stop devouring you, the biute marks leaving deep red and almost bloody imprints on your skin. His thrust sent you into ecstasy, that table helping both of you that night. He made you reach the hevsns while keeping you tied down to earth.

The next day those bite marks along your neck and chest were on display for the entire department to see, and when people got a glance at the matching set of hickies on Theseus neck and those leading down his chest, not that they could see those but you knew, the entire office was in shambles about the two of you. Those bite marks and the non visible imprint his hand left on you kept you going back to each other.

The situation you found yourself in was easy to deal with at first. When Bo and Jack started arguing with one another about your attention you could easily separate the two. (Usually by picking up Bo and putting him in a separate room somewhere.). However, now that Bo finally has his physical form thanks to your kindness it was like the two were constantly fighting.

Jack didn't like Bo, not for a single minute. He was trying to take away HIS sunshine. Bo acted like he had some sort of wolfy claim on you just because you bought his little game device. Stupid Mutt.

Bo HATED Jack since the moment he met him. He knew Jack was what stood in front of him and had his puppy for himself. Jack always tries to leave him out of every outing trying to keep you to himself. Bo is gonna teach this clown that he isn't an Alpha to be messed with. Or so he thought till they both found out the hard way that they would kill each other. Fucking clown.

Yes, they have tried to fight it out physically and though they feel each hit, bite, and nasty word they can't die just wish they were by the end of it.

Though when they aren't fighting they constantly surveillance you. When you go to work Jack keeps an eye on you to make sure people like Nick don't come around you again. While Bo watches and interacts with you in public to let everyone know you're taken. In a way, this is how they get along in the beginning. They agree to set aside differences for your safety. You are after all the reason they are fighting in the first place.

Please for the love of everything make a schedule or get a bed big enough for the three of you. I mean unless you prefer constant brutal fucking, biting, and marking from the two trying to show the other up. Bo is the worst out of the two honestly especially since he likes to fuck in his beast form which runs strictly on emotions.

Though it will be a very rocky beginning for all of you, eventually their bickering will die down and they will only verbally fight when they think you aren't listening. They co-exist in an "I accept you're here to stay, but one wrong move and I will find a way to get rid of you." way.

Bonus that I wasn't sure where to put it:

The three of you were sitting on the couch. You leaned with your back to Jack's side, and Bo lay on top of you swatting away at Jack's hand that seemed ever closer to your breast. When your phone began to ring. Wanting to find an excuse to get up and stretch you signaled for Bo to get up, and when he did you left for your shared room in the back to take the call.

"Y-Y/n?" Well, now you wish you hadn't.

Ian waited patiently for your response, but when he was met with silence he continued.

"Y-you probably didn't mean to pick up again...b-but I'm glad you did!.... I just want to talk to you."

It had been a good 20 minutes, and you still haven't come back. Are you okay?? Did you get hurt??

Bo began to get anxious. So against Jack's president "Just give them time"s Bo got up and made his way to your room hoping to see you okay.

The closer he got the more he could hear sniffles and another man's voice on the other side of the door. He got as close to the door as he could trying to catch the conversation, but only got the tail end of it as you threw your phone somewhere to the side and cries became slightly louder.

The sound of your tears was torture to Bo, so in a fit of emotions, he frantically opened the door and wasted no time taking you in his arms.

"What's wrong puppy? What happened? Who hurt you?"

Afraid of what Jack might want to do already you tried not to say anything to Bo, but it seems Jack had other plans

Jack stood in the doorway arms crossed as he held an expression that can only be described as a mix of anger and sympathy.

"It was Ian…..wasn't it…?"

Bo's head quickly turned to Jack curious but alarmed by the new name

"Who is Ian?" You looked over to Jack with pleading eyes, but he simply shook his head.

"Their obsessed cheating ex" you could feel Bo's grip tighten around you as the words left Jack's mouth.

"And you answered his call?!" Bo was angry. You could hear it in his voice as he growled and looked down at you.

You tried to shrink into yourself, but Bo's iron grip made it impossible. "I-I didn't know…..I just answered…"

The silence hung heavy in the air as both men tried to gather their thoughts. It was obvious Ian still had a grip on you. It was also obvious what needs to be done.

Sharing a look both men nodded before Bo's grip on you loosened.

"I'm sorry puppy I just worry about you." He nuzzles his face into your neck peppering little kisses. "I don't like seeing you cry."

You let out quiet giggles at the ticklish feeling while leaning more into Bo. "I know….I'm sorry both of you. I should have paid more attention. "

You looked over to Jack holding your hand out to him. Jack visibly softened as he walked over, taking your hand, kneeling, and placing your palm on his face.

"It's okay sunshine. We still love you."

You smiled relaxing against Bo. They always knew how to make you feel better. Closing your eyes you could help but smile at how lucky you felt.

That night however the hunt was on.

Deltarune's Ending

So as we have basically all of Deltarune released, it obviously seems reasonable - as many have done- to speculate on the ending of the game.

Now I can't- with a straight face- argue that I have any idea on how deltarune will actually end. What I can do is share a few observations that I haven't seen made elsewhere.

Now evidently the first place to look for any theory of this nature is, of course, the the first thing you see when booting up the game. Not the very nice one with our three protagonists standing very impressively before a dark fountain, but the one that looks like a DOS menu with spooky text. what I'm talking about is, of course,

1. The Title Screen

Now, as many have no doubt seen and/or heard, there are a number of unique quirks exclusive to this screen that fuel the theory community, but theres always been one thing about this screen in particular that always seemed.... More Important.

As you may know, for a variety of reasons, this screen is frequently taken to be narrated by the G man himself, Goofy nosurname.

What makes this relevant is that this, in conjunction with:

A. The Twitter announcement for Deltarune

B. The Game Over Screen

And of course C. The gonermaker segment at the start of a new run:

We can reasonably* assume that this character has some amount of influence over the game, if not straight up responsible for its existence.

All of which is to say, of course, that anything that we can glean from this character has the potential to be massively important to the rest of the game- which brings us to the prompter for this particular theory:

(What's interesting to note here is that, you don't actually need to have 3 identical files for this particular gaster text to appear, you simply need to overwrite any that are different)

2. The Evidence

Now what does this actually tell us about the ending of deltarune? Let's gather what else we know about the ending of deltarune:

the ever present, ever looming promise (threat) of a single ending, of an inexorable ending to the events of deltarune.

And if that was all, then it would be open and shut, case closed- however there is also... ambiguity as to the finality of these statements:

Note the question mark and the statement of a "new" future.

There's one final piece of the puzzle we need to make this into a proper, regular, unhinged deltarune theory tm: a bit of a insiders look at the development process.

Specifically:

deltarune, going forward, needs the capability to act as multiple separate games

3. The Actual Theory Finally

Now we have all the components, so here's the theory:

Deltarune will, in fact, have One ending- but it is the ending we choose. If anything I'm saying here is remotely right, we will need to choose the savefile that we want to be the real ending: hence the somewhat ominous "PREPARATIONS ARE COMPLETE" upon converting all of your savefiles to be the same.

We know there are slight differences between the save files:

File 1

File 2

File 3

And we additionally know that theres some overlap between save files (I'm on to you seem the cat)

so deciding the One Ending is the decision you make to choose where your file goes. if that makes any sense

In other words, you have to play a different game (or rather the game again) to see a different outcome. This, in my mind, is the ultimate reconciliation of these two contradictory statements: the inevitability of the one ending and the potential to change the future.

Extra bonus mini theory

The second most interesting observation I've had while making this post (beyond the "preparations" what prompted this) is the multiple game instances for deltarune. If I'm anywhere near the realm of correct at this point, it could be that these other instances wouldn't strictly be, you know, deltarune, instead being... I don't know... gastertale and tobyworld or something

Doc - Current

I have a bunch of details about his backstory but I'll save that for next time because I feel like it might be better organizationally to separate that out. So!

Doc is a humanoid. He used to be fully human - more on that in the upcoming backstory post - but now he's functionally fully a creeper hybrid. His face mostly looks like it did before he got hybridized, just... green and furry; the exceptions being his organic eye, which is fully really dark now (he doesn't know how that happened. Creepers don't even HAVE eyes), and his mouth, which is always turned slightly down at the corners even when he smiles. (I also really wanna give him sharp teef but I can't justify that with the way my creeper headcanons work. I can barely justify the eye. Maybe he made that modification for fun separately and later idk) Also his hands have claws instead of nails now.

Creeper fur is incredibly soft, somewhere between moss and thick grass, to allow for silent movement. Doc's gotten a little vain about his fur, even though he hardly ever lets people touch it anyway.

The fur gives him extra sensitivity to how his clothes feel. He owns like two pairs of pants and has worn them ragged because he hasn't found anything else that feels as good. He doesn't like wearing shirts tighter than the loose labcoat. He'll do it for The Bit (usually The Bit is attempted intimidation), but anything other than his normal clothes is usually not comfortable enough to wear for more than a couple hours. His feet also got a little mutated by his hybridization and don't work with most human shoes. Doc went barefoot 100% of the time for years until he discovered one shoe type that was wide enough and shapeless enough to be comfortable: the humble Crocs.

His robotic eye has some fun extra functions! It has a heat vision mode and a zoom; he can also press a button to detach the actual seeing part of it on a little device to fly around like a mini camera drone. (That part's a bit of a holdover from when Doc was like the only hermit using the freecam mod; the camera starts out inside the person's head, so it felt right to make it his eye.) The heat vision and zoom used to have buttons as well, but over time he's learned to switch those two fully mentally.

His arm doesn't have any super funky swiss army knife attachments, but he does keep a mini repair kit in a hidden chamber in there (that idea is shamelessly stolen from @sycon-senti) and metal claws to match the natural ones on his other hand. He's had to do some upgrades here and there to environment-proof his arm against stuff like dirt and sand.

The horns are totally artificial and by choice. Well, the one on the right side might have been grown, but the one on the left at least was built onto his faceplate. Why? The aesthetic.

My past weirdly Bleedman inspired characters

I contemplated posting this cause it was weird & I felt like talking about past shit but forgot about it. I'm posting it now cause I found a video talking about Grimm Tales from Down Below & how weird it was. For some reason it made me decided to make this post.

Before I say anything I want to say I don't follow Bleedman anymore & mostly only followed/was a fan of him when I was a kid. I say this because Grimm Tales(along with many other stuff) was weird & as a child I was oblivious of how Mini Mandy's affection towards Junior was.(Nor understood how weird some shit was)

That being said another explanation(that this post was meant to start off with) is that when I was a child before I realized that I should look up the Bleedman comics my only way to watch them was to hope someone put the comics up in videos.(Like how I use to find dounjishi in the wild west of Youtube when people could put anime/cartoon episodes in 3 parts) I was able to watch a little of Sugar Bits & a lot of the early comics of Bleedman's PPG comic. Anything I knew that wasn't in the comics was in AMV stuff.(A specific one I saw had These Words I'll Never Say by Avril Lavigne)

These characters were inspired by Grimm Tales from Down Below & their story is based on what I originally thought Grimm Tales was about cause I've often had weird moments of random guessing. I'd see bits about something & cause I was unable to see the whole thing my imagination would go wild. An example is the movie Home(with the purple aliens) I was under the impression the girl/human companion/main character was a teen that had issues/a fight with her mom that led to running away from home & now she wants to find her mom & make amends. In reality it's a girl that was dealing with the invasion for a few days(hard to tell due to passing at the start) trying to cope with the kidnapping of her mom when they were getting use to having moved to a new home & was trying to find her missing mom.

So as I said these two characters are inspired by what I thought Grim Tales was from what little I knew from AMV videos.(Which at the very least had the prologue pages were Junior & Minnie were visiting the flowers & a pic of Minnie being torn apart) I don't remember when I made these sketches just know I tried to recreate the Bleedman art style. I have no idea if I could do this again & do not want to try.

The idea is some how this teen girl managed to get stuck in hell with no idea how to get home. The grim reaper's apprentice ends up making friends with her & the two end up on an adventure through hell as the apprentice tries to help his friend return home unharmed.

The idea is that she does eventually make it back home after a long adventure but are separated since the apprentice doesn't belong there. If you want a bittersweet ending then going the ragdoll route then the apprentice fails to keep her safe leading to the girl getting torn apart. The apprentice with help manages to put her back together as a ragdoll but thanks to all of this she's unable to return home however she & the apprentice are able to stay together as friends & go on more adventures together.

I dunno how I came up with the names but I guess I named these two Juliet & Cody at some point. Looking at these pictures I think at one point I was going to turn them into talking sprites for a game I never got to.

Juliet: A stubborn/strong willed girl that some how fell into the underworld or something managed to drag her in. While curious about the place she's currently stuck in Juliet would really like to go home. The skulls in her ponytails are pendants meant to protect her on her journey through the underworld to find a way home as well as make people think she's associated with the Grim Reaper as a way to leave her alone. Cody has one on one of his ears & it seems Juliet has managed to break through his distant behavior. Despite her stubborn/at times headstrong behavior she can have a friendly side & sometimes teases Cody.

Cody: Cody is the apprentice of the Grim Reaper, he at some point use to be a teenager that ended up dead/taken to the underworld. His appearance has become altered over time partly thanks to his boss trying to both repair him & make Cody stronger. The Grim Reaper despite his stern behavior & dark nature seems to consider Cody his son. Cody doesn't like his boss & this might add into Cody's often distant behavior. Despite this he seems to have managed to make a few connections & seems to be willing to help out in certain situations. There are moments were he still acts possibly like how he use to be before ending up in the underworld, he doesn't like the fact he's short.

anyway i'm just putting my thoughts in order this is so boring to anyone but me

God my mood took such a huge dive after our mini vacation because I was so exhausted. The exact same thing happened last year when we took a trip. Which is when I ended up self-harming. I was expecting the mood dysregulation this time so I took care of myself better but still. Jesus. I mean it helped that I didn't have to go back to a horrible job but at the same time I often feel like a leech because I only work a few hours a week right now. I know that's not the point of life but hey. You get this idea of usefulness and worth drilled into you and it's hard to separate your identity from creating capital. And obviously I'm aware of that, he's aware of that, but at the same time we both have those identical pressures on us so it feels very unfair for me to (seemingly) fuck around all day while he has to work 40 hours and be basically the sole provider. I haven't worked full time in a year now. And I keep getting interviews and not getting hired. The job market sucks but it does feel like I'm deficient somehow. Like why wouldn't they want me?? Do I have to settle for making minimum wage (or less) doing work I'm far overqualified for, and would be miserable doing?

Aside from that, it's been really hard to focus on learning. I'm unmedicated for ADHD because I can't tolerate any meds and the best I can do is be aware of my limits and work around them, play to my strengths. But I see other people succeeding and learning faster than me, and I feel so deficient and stupid. Why haven't I grasped this yet? Would I already have a job if I were just better, smarter? Am I just not applying myself enough? I always know the answer is, "You're working within your limits; your best is different from someone else's" but it still kind of hurts to feel like your potential is being wasted. To feel like everyone is looking at you and thinking of you as a failure, or lazy, or pitying you.

Am I happy? Yes, frequently. I enjoy my hobbies, I love my spouse, I feel more rested than I have in a long time, and I often feel fulfilled learning something that does actually challenge me. But I can't help my insecurities, the imposter syndrome.

I'm also lonely. I used to have a large friend group, and now I have two friends that I see on a regular basis. I have friends that I talk to online a lot, but as much as I love them, it doesn't satisfy me in the same way as being in someone's presence. If we ever moved, or if my two friends ever moved, I would be back to zero. My anxiety, especially about driving, makes it particularly hard to make friends in a city where you can't do anything without driving to get there. Not feeling capable of driving also makes me feel pretty pathetic. I can do it for short distances in areas I'm familiar with, but getting on the freeway makes me feel like I'm having an out-of-body experience, and not in a good way. Every time I manage to drive somewhere I feel this sense of exultation that I accomplished a huge feat, followed by such a hollow exhaustion that I often feel drained for the rest of the day. How are you supposed to maintain friends like that?

And these are just my small everyday concerns. In the back of my mind during all these I'm aware of the fact that the US is a flaming shit log right now, and I can sign petitions and donate money and vote in my primaries and do whatever and the world is still heating up and people are still getting fucking shotgunned and legislated to death and wrung out like a sponge by insane costs of living and corporations and billionaires are smoking petrol cigarettes made of corpses lit by fossil fuel private jet matches. So what do you. You just don't think about it most of the time.

I don't know. I think I'm really tired right now so naturally my outlook is more bleak, and if I had gotten more sleep I would feel better and happier. But I think I do still feel numb a lot and that I bury my head in easy distractions like TV and tumblr because facing painful emotions is just hard. I'm a chronic avoider. I put off conflict of any kind. If I think I see it coming, I close my eyes until it runs me over. I'm not as bad as I used to be; I'm trying to articulate how I feel more, and to be proactive about developing healthy coping mechanisms, but I think I'm not great about being self-aware yet. I think it still creeps up on me and I'm not aware until it's right over me.

At least I knew this time, before this trip, what was going to happen. I wouldn't say I dealt with it in the best way, but I prevented myself from self-harming and I talked about how I was feeling and I let myself feel angry a little bit. I had a fawning reaction for a lot of the time, but I was more aware of it. I can recognize the patterns better. And instead of giving into the compulsion, I felt the feeling and then let it pass.

This is probably just always going to happen. I mean, I still have the same impulses from my eating disorder that I've always had. I don't really think they've changed or gone away at all. I just don't act on the impulses anymore. I haven't for a couple years. Not to say I won't relapse, but again, I'm seeing the patterns and resisting the impulses. Wanting the better outcome instead of the immediate release of satisfying the compulsion.

I guess all I can do is keep trying and desiring the better outcome, trying to think in the long term. (It's so hard when "the future" is something I can't even visualize! It's liquid, nebulous, anything could happen, I don't have a plan or anything definitive that I want) (What do I want? There's a few things I guess I could daydream about -- having a yard, but I don't need that. Pursuing my hobbies, I guess -- but I can do that almost anywhere. Having friends -- hopefully some of the same ones as now. Being happy with my spouse, being comfortable in our house or apartment, working enough to live off of and maybe to retire early. Who cares? There's no set path to any of these things.) So yeah. As long as I'm engaging in healthy patterns more often than not, I can achieve the future I want. Right?

Anyway. This is a mess but I feel like I got some of the most tangled threads unraveled.

My Overall Thoughts on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Okay. This is gonna be a longy, so obviously: The READ MORE is to separate the wall of paragraphs coming, and most importantly... SPOILER TERRITORY!

If you want a spoiler-free tl;dr, I liked it a lot. It has its problems, but it ultimately served the purpose of what I wanted it to be: An extension of my love to the original game with the realization and acceptance that the original can't be replaced.

Alright, SPOILERS! AFTER THIS THERE BE SPOILERS!

Okay. Welcome to spoiler town.

Character-wise: I don't think there was a single miss in the roster. Every single character was banger. I loved them all. Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Nanaki are already my Top 4, and continue to be so. I think this pushed Yuffie to 5 with Cloud being 6.

I get the frustration about Vincent and Cid not being playable, but considering Vincent only really does interesting things in late-game and we're not going to Rocket Town, it worked for me. Plus, Vincent and Cid did PLENTY.

I've always liked Rufus and the Turks. This definitely amplified that. Probably my biggest excitement of part 3 will be Heimdegger, Scarlet, Corneo, Palmer, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, HOJO all get to bite the bullet. I hate them all so much.

And Sephiroth... God, fuck you, man.

Music: Big surprise. Music is outstanding. I'm going to need to make like... a YouTube playlist of all the songs that I liked, cause this game has a fucking OCEAN of music that I can't keep track of. Best of note were definitely the variety of Tifa themes, the different takes on JENOVA, that Stamp theme, and probably a stand out: That take on Sephiroth's latin chant that made it sound like a fucking Bloodborne theme. That was awesome.

Gameplay: Oh my fucking god, this game has so much. Like, almost too much. It's overwhelming how much this game has, and I'd complain if it weren't for the fact that it's manageable if you do it in a healthy manner. Which hardly anyone is going to do.

While there were too many mini-games, I liked about 90%. I'm in love with Queen's Blood. Chocobo Racing was great. Fuck that cactaur mini-game.

Combat still feels banger. Every character plays awesome, except Cait. Like, I've never been anti-playing Cait in OG FF7, but man, he is hard to work with in this one. My best was always Tifa and Barret.

Story: I 100% see where everyone is mad about (and I'm talking more the middle of the story, not the ending... We'll get to the ending later), but nothing really bothered me. I saw outcries of Barret's conclusion making things worse for him, which honestly... Yeah. That fucking sucks for him, which is why it makes him so badass to continue to stand up.

I know people are mad about the whole 'Glenn' thing. I... have no idea why. He's such a nothing burger. He just seems like Sephiroth's only way of talking to Rufus, which... good. That's interesting. I'm sure we're supposed to get a 'Glenn is Cloud's father' bit, but... I don't care. That seems like whatever.

Having experienced the story now, not stopping at Wutai or Rocket Town actually makes sense with how the story is going. We'll definitely see.

That Ending: I'll be honest... The way Aerith's death was handled frustrated me. Cause at first, it was hitting me HARD. I was in TEARS as the scene played out, and then Jenova came out. And I was crying as I was beating her ass.

And then Sephiroth came out. And then not-Safer Sephiroth came out. And then Sephiroth came out again and STOP MILKING SEPHIROTH! OH MY GOD! I GET IT! SORS IMMANIS! ET INANIS! By the time the two hour event of Sephiroth wave dashing on me went by, I was completely over the death. And then they don't even do the water burial? Just to add to the fact that Cloud can't fully comprehend that she's dead?

And as frustrated as I am with all that... I'm fine. Like, honestly: I'll live. Was it how I wanted the scene to go? No. But you know what: I can experience FF7's amazing scenes whenever I want. I got the fucking game on Switch. I got on PS Library. I can wait til it's $5 on sale for my Steamdeck. I can beat that shit in a week or less.

FF7 will always be there for me, and it is always a part of me. And I've accepted that this series isn't 'a remake of Final Fantasy 7'. It was a re-exploration of it that knows that I know what I know. So... I can live with that.

The world and timeline thing still confuses me a bit, but at the end of the day, it just feels like build up for when Aerith uses the lifestream to save everyone. Cause you know she'll be there with Zack.

Other Stuff: -I don't know if I'll Platinum this. My thoughts right now are to close the game and play some XIV. I might pick it up and continue, piece by piece. Don't know yet.

-I can't wait to see how Cid and Vincent are going to play in the next game. I was theorizing that Vincent was going to get a DLC chapter. I don't think that's happening now.

Um... Matthew Mercer's voice is so fucking hot. Huh? What? You didn't hear that. Mako poisoning.

-Golden Saucer was both hype and a disappointment. Cause I feel like losing the roller coaster was a loss. BUT THAT HAUNTED HOTEL! ME AMOR! I loved that place! Oh my fucking god! I want to LIVE THERE! And the front desk attendee? Boyfriend-tier. Marriage material. We'll be married in October 2025. See you then.

January 11-17

I completely forgot to make this post until today, the 20th, but for the sake of my future process book, here is what I did this week:

I made some decisions about what the rest of the semester will look like and put that information into this page for our collective capstone brief assignment:

My current plan is to make two more websites, one main one being the community garden idea, where I'm thinking it'll be like a collaborative tamagotchi sort of thing, inspired by how real community gardens work and bring people together. For the brief, I put that I wanted to do a trail-following website, where you see everyone's cursor movements, but I spent the week contemplating this and couldn't think of a way to make it more dimensional than just following cursors. I came up with another idea, to make a website inspired by rainbow looms and cat's cradle and other nostalgic uses for rubber bands. The website would be like a big peg board where anyone can add permanent rubber band art on one big canvas, like a collaborative whiteboard but with rubber bands. So I think the rubber band drawing website and community garden are two projects I am sure about, and I'd like to do little mini experiments along the way if I encounter anything I want to separately explore more.

Timeline-wise, my plan is to spend the entire semester on the community garden, since I know how much work it will be, as I want to add things like real weather and day/night and real-time growth. I want to give people a reason to keep checking in. And for the rubber band website, I'll spend the next few weeks on it, since I have already sketched the design which just needs a few minor changes and then I just need to code it, which shouldn't be too bad.

Concept-wise, I spent this week contemplating my topic a lot. I feel like I keep ending up at crossroads where there are just too many things I am excited about and I don't know what will end up being the best for this thesis. It's better to have too many things to be excited about than none at all, but it's still hard to constantly be making decisions about this after I thought I had it mostly figured out. My research has stayed around the same ideas of the decentralized web, experimentation, making websites by hand, and collaboration/community. But narrowing it has been confusing because for a while, it was about combating isolation, but now it's less about that and more about just making fun escapist spaces on the web, which I don't know if that's what I want to do. I mean, it is, but I don't know if it's as engaging as other ideas I had. And nostalgia, especially web nostalgia, has been a big part of my research interests, and I don't know how it fits in anymore. It does, but it's not as much a part as I want it to be, because I don't think I really know what I'm even trying to do with my project anymore. Which I need to figure out, soon, but I just want to make silly websites and not think, is that too much to ask?? (yes)

Anyway, here's my current research question draft:

How can I create software interactions that act as tools to visually and conceptually use the web as a platform for creativity, connection and collaboration?

I think it needs some more juice because it's missing something, which I will hopefully figure out this week.

Discography Review - The Boyz

This post involves me stating my personal opinions and thoughts while listening to the artist's discography, separated by era/release and pointing out my favorite song from each release. At the end of each section I'll give a score based on my enjoyment of the release as a whole, as well as a final score for the entire discography.

This is not an introduction to the artist, these are just my opinions posted on the internet for fun and should not be taken seriously.

A Bit About Me:

Something I do regarding kpop songs, mini albums and full albums is that I mostly listen to title tracks only. I follow about 200 kpop artists (including groups, sub units and soloists) give or take, so I limit myself to the title tracks so it's easier to check out their releases.

Still, I want to listen to all of their discographies, hence why I made this series.

My History With The Boyz:

I've been following them since their debut, actually. So every time they released something, I downloaded the title track. Ironically, I actually only stopped to learn their names in 2021, probably after the release of Drink It and before Thrill-Ing. That's also when Juyeon became my bias.

Thrill-Ing was their first mini album I listened to fully and some of these reviews won't be a first listen, but more of a revisit.

With that said, let's begin.

The First

I remember watching the MV for Boy the first time and then finding out it was released that daykkkk I don't know why but I definitely have a different "bond" with the groups I follow since their debut. It's a different feeling, even if I don't follow them everywhere.

For a debut I think they established themselves pretty good actually. The mini album gives off their style and does a great job at introducing them. Still, it doesn't really "pull me in", even if I think it's neat overall.

My favorite song is Walkin' In Time and looking at the other releases I can definitely see some callbacks to this mini album. I call it 'Classical The Boyz' Style, and when it appears in the newer releases (post Reveal) I think it's a nice nod.

》 ☆☆☆ (Three Stars)

The Start

Now... I don't know why but I just didn't vibe with this mini album. My theory is that I didn't like it because I think these songs could've been released with their debut. For a first comeback, that's not something I want. I felt like they didn't expand on their style, but stayed on the same lane and speed instead. Maybe it was a smart marketing move, but still one I didn't enjoy.

I don't think it's a bad thing, it's good to have a brand. But for a first comeback I want something a bit more daring, I guess. Still, I don't hate these songs and my favorite is Just U (it does make me happy).

Also believe me when I say it's pretty difficult for me to actually dislike a song.

》 ☆☆ (Two Stars)

The Sphere

I have no idea what people say about this mini album but I WILL defend it at all costs. No one touch it. Keeper is my baby. This song gives me immense joy. There is not a sad day with this mini album. It has the energy, the style, the fun, the loveable vibes. No one will ruin this song for me.

Besides Keeper, I do think the three songs are great as a whole, even if I don't listen to the other two as much. Also Right Here was more captivating than Giddy Up for me (I will ALSO defend Giddy Up at all costs, don't try me).

As a final thought, if you hate Keeper, I'm sorry that you're not happy :(

》 ☆☆☆☆ (Four Stars)

The Only

This mini album gave us No Air, which in itself is a win. However, the other songs didn't grab my attention, and in this case, the title track won't raise the overall score.

With that said, this is the kind of album that I think of on rainy days and set aside a specific time to listen to it on its own. No Air still is my favorite song from this release.

Bloom Bloom

If you hate Bloom Bloom, I'm sorry that you're not happy :(

It was their first win FOR A REASON! The only people allowed to hate this song are The Boyz themselves, and even them won't escape it for the rest of their lives. If this song has one fan, it's me. If this song has no fans, it's because I'm no longer in this world.

Unfortunately, the title track won't raise the overall score, since Butterfly is not a song I usually go to and Clover is too cheesy for me. It will, however, earn this release our very first Moon Badge. Bloom Bloom is THAT song.

Dreamlike

Now... *breathes deeply* Talented, Brilliant, Incredible, Amazing, Showstopping, Spectacular, Never The Same, Totally Unique, Completely Not Ever Been Done Before, Unafraid To Reference Or Not Reference, Put It In A Blender, Shit On It, Vomit On It, Eat It, Give Birth To It.

If there's one thing The Boyz can do no wrong in, is in a Summer Comeback. This mini album is everything I need and more. The songs perfectly fit with one another. I even dare to say it has the best opening (Water) AND ending (Daydream) songs from their entire discography.

Dreamlike is the mother I never had. She is the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don't know a better person.

This release gave us Water which is easily my favorite The Boyz song of all time. It gave us D.D.D which is just absolute fun. It gave us Juyeon singing a chorus. It gave us a dance break. The aesthetic, the MV. This is easily one of my favorite The Boyz's releases. It altered my brain chemistry. Dreamlike is THAT girl.

Tattoo

I remember being so confused with this release: I saw the MV but then realised they weren't promoting it anywhere? And then found out it was their Japanese debut??? But then the song was in KOREAN?????

I didn't listen to this song after 2018, and now with the first listen of the album, I can't say I missed *that* much. HOWEVER! This era gave us Stupid Sorry, which is my favorite japanese release from them. And it's also one of my favorite b-sides from their discography as a whole.

Still, one song won't raise the rating. l think the album is nice, though.

》 ☆☆☆ (Three Stars)

Reveal

Now... *sighs* Yes I was one of the people that didn't like the concept change. It just wasn't it for me. Especially because this was their first korean release right after BLOOM BLOOM and D.D.D which is already established that I love them.

I wouldn't say I was disappointed... or maybe I was. At the time I didn't know this was their first full album. I still thought the song was nice. I only listened to the album as a whole this year.

I'll also reveal (see what I did there?) some details on how my opinions have changed with the Chase section.

It's a good album, sure. My favorite song is Shake You Down because my girl Kenzie would never disappoint me. Also Kenzie and Moonshine on the same song in itself is a win. This album also gave us Goodbye and Spring Snow, which is nice. The other songs didn't catch my eye.

Chase

Now here, ladies and gentlemen and fellow non-binary folk, is how you make a successful concept. I think one of the let-downs of Reveal for me was that it didn't stick out to me because it was just a "dark" concept.

For a long time, actually, I liked Reveal more than The Stealer due to the chanting in the chorus (which is one of my pet peeves in songs). I only started liking The Stealer last year. And after listening to Chase as a whole, I look at my past self and think "How on EARTH did you think that Reveal was better than Chase?"

This era has the concept, the songs, the execution, the choreography, the storyline. It defeated Reveal in every aspect for me. I'm so sorry to the Reveal enjoyers who might be reading this (i'm sorry yumi), your tastes are still valid.

My favorite song is Shine Shine because MY GIRL KENZIE NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!! She also wrote the lyrics to The Stealer which is just the cherry on top.

All of this is still ironic considering that I disliked this era for two whole years.

Breaking Dawn

I don't think there's a lot I'll be able to say about this era. I don't have any strong opinions about it besides not liking Breaking Dawn (the song) and having nightmares about the MISBHV shirt (please... i'm exhausted... someone burn this shirt... I see it everywhere....)

My favorite song is Hush which is not exactly saying a lot. In this album's defense, I don't give much attention to their japanese releases as a whole.

Drink It

Thrill-Ing

As I said before, this was the first mini album of The Boyz I heard in full. As I also said before, The Boyz simply know how to make a good summer comeback.

The concept photos? The MV? The songs? The aesthetic? The outfits? They slayed, your honor. This mini album is cohesive in everything it does. It was also the first comeback with me actually knowing all their names and following the teaser schedule.

The only song I didn't like at first was Dancing 'Til We Drop. Nowadays, I can enjoy it. It's still the last in my ranking from this release, but now I don't hate it. My number one slot is forever occupied by Bet On You.

As a closing thought, I'll say this: I really do like Merry Bad Ending, but that song is overrated.

Maverick

To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I think the let-down of it all was worse because this was 2 months after Thrill-Ing. You gave us the best summer comeback of the year and then released this song with chanting in the chorus and lyrics that don't make a lot of sense??

I did learn to appreciate the pre-chorus but that's about it. Safe to say I'm not the biggest fan of Maverick the song. The other two songs didn't capture me enough to give it three stars. It's just not my cup of tea and not the kind of style I like from The Boyz.

With that said, It's funny that I'm going off about this release on its 2 year anniversary. Happy Birthday Maverick!

She's The Boss

I don't know what it is with their japanese releases that just confuse me. When I listen to this song I don't like the way the verse is all aggressive and the chorus gets kinda chill.

Besides the title track, this release didn't stick out to me, even among the japanese comebacks. My favorite song is Why Why Why, which is not saying a lot. I did like the aesthetic of the title track MV and concept pictures.

Be Aware

This comeback... was.... something... yeah. It really was something. Definitely one of the releases of all time.

Besides the Eric hiatus, this era didn't feel quite right to me. Whisper felt like it was a Thrill Ride 2.0 that went wrong. It's definitely not for me. I do think it's funny that The Boyz seem to ignore this song too.

For the mini album as a whole... I don't hate the songs but I'd rather listen to their other releases. I think this is just out of spite because I don't like Whisper. My favorite song from here is Timeless.

Now, if they had Roar ready even before they released Whisper... then why did they even release Whisper????

I know that it's supposed to be some kind of Duology, I guess? But I don't see a lot of connections besides thinking that Blah Blah could be a Be Aware b-side.

Now, if you followed me when this was released you would know that I didn't like it at first. I had to listen to it like 10 times before liking it. I'm still glad I did because now I really appreciate the song. The MV is a masterpiece. And Kenzie wrote the lyrics, which is always a nice touch.

As for the rest of the mini album, I think the songs go great together. For someone who "doesn't like" The Boyz darker concepts, this was a nice surprise. My favorite song is Horizon.

As a final thought, I think IST should hire me to do their line distributions, I'm 100% sure I would be able to make a fair line distribution according to their voice timbrers and vocal technique levels. Please let Juyeon and Haknyeon sing more, I love their voices so much 😭😭😭😭😭

This was... a bit of a whiplash experience because there were like four different types of songs?? Every two songs it felt like the vibe changed. It didn't make me dislike them, though. It was just a bit of a shock.

With that said, my favorite song is Lip Sync. I literally listened to it today before writing this, so I don't have much to say about this album.

Like, I don't know how they do it. They simply kill it every time. Dreamlike, Thrill-Ing and Christmas In August is THE Holy Trinity for me. If you don't like it, I'm sorry you don't know how to have fun :(

Jokes aside, when I first listened to this album, I pratically liked all the songs. I did get a bit disappointed by Fantasize because I thought it would have a more energetic chorus. But girl (gender neutral), when I listened to Fire Eyes...

When I tell you I jumped from my bed and started dancing and flailing around my arms and legs, you best believe me because that's exactly what it happened. This song is everything I wanted and more. It solidified this album as a favorite for me.

This album is just really good overall. Ugh I love it, I really do. Unfortunately it didn't quite get the five stars because not all the songs are my absolute favorites (including Lip Gloss, I'm so sorry my dear). With time it'll probably evolve into a Five-Star, but for now this is all I can offer.

As a final thought, I don't know why they decided to call it a Second Full Album divided in three parts?? Like, just say it's three mini albums? Especially if the concepts are gonna be different? Also if it doesn't reach the 30-minute mark, it's not a full album. But maybe it's just a me thing.

Sixth Sense

First, the marketing leading up to this release left me SO nervous and desperately hoping that we woudn't get a Maverick 2.0. I'm a lot more "forgiving" on the b-sides, but given the fact that The Boyz's members were talking about "bad boy" concept (and not the Red Velvet kind)... yeah, you can say I was at least a bit nervous, since I already said that I'm not the biggest fan of The Boyz's "darker" concepts.

As for the title track itself, Watch It is NOT a Maverick 2.0 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. It's definitely not my favorite title track of them and I really prefer Roar to this, but it's also NOT my most disliked song! And for me, that's both a relief and a good thing to say, because I actually had some enjoyment listening to the song, although it didn't quite get past the "nice" territory.

I was scared it would be an anti-drop (which I'm tired of), but since there was no percussion on the first pre-chorus, there was no tension or buildup to resolve. However, on the second pre-chorus we had a bit more buildup, and I was a bit disappointed (but not really surprised) that the second chorus didn't add anything else beside an extra synth layer. I think I would've liked it better if there was more energy, in a similar way to You Calling My Name by GOT7, to give an example.

Also, on the end of the bridge there was a tempo change leading to the high note?? Out of nowhere???? And I can't believe they DIDN'T GO ALL THE WAY. They went back to the chorus. With an extra synth layer. No change in the percussion. That didn't make me disappointed, it made me sad 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. It could've been SO much more, they could've gone full Silent Night by Dreamcatcher, and I would've loved EVERY SECOND.

As for the rest of the album... why didn't they make Bad Luck the title track 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭, like yeah, I can see why Watch It is the title track, considering their marketing strategy, but I liked Bad Luck so much more... It has a break of expectation and it's so much more dynamic in my opinion. Crying&Laughter is my second favorite and honestly this track name just sums me up so well.

The mini album is really cohesive (and I love using the word cohesive) and you can definitely (another word I love using) see the vision they had for this release. Unfortunately, it's not a vision that I particularly enjoyed. So, this album is gonna have to go into a pretty familiar category: It's Nice But That's About It.

As a final thought, I'm gonna say this again: why are you gonna release 6 songs at a time with entire different concepts and call it a Full Album? Just say it's three mini albums or release a complete Full Album, please.

Final Scoring

As a whole, I almost rated this discography as three stars only, but after thinking a bit, even if I don't listen to every song (or most of them, at least), the ones I love and that I consider my favorites are enough to raise the score as whole. I may not love all the songs, but the ones I do, I love them with all my heart and they'll always be a special memory.

Again, I wanna say this was just for fun. I wanted to document my "process" as I navigate through my favorite artists' careers and maybe find a new perspective. I consider listening to music as my personal hobby, and so I wanted a fun way for me to do it.

Love Never Lies: The Weirdest and Horniest dating show.

Yes, you read the title correctly, Love never lies: Destination Sardina is undoubtedly one of the weirdest shows I have ever watched. I don't even know what was the point of this show aside from sex and lap dances! What was the point?

Now some of you might be thinking "Why are you making a review about this dating show that absolutely No one has heard about?". Well, since I want to try to review pieces of content that I like and ones that I hate(I did mention that in the rules) I figured that this would be the best place to start with.

Think of this as a placeholder or some kind of mini-rant before we get to the actual quality review that you guys voted on which was the Korean War.

Also before we start, I'm aware that there was a love never lies before this one with the same host but with different contestants and a different location. I watched and it was fine. Despite me hating Monica, Other than her and the stupid lie detect thing, It was fine. Not good, But decent enough

So strap In, Put on your hats, and join me as we dive into this mess of a show.

Trigger Warning ( Mentions of Sex, Nudity, And other stuff that will probably get me in trouble.)

The Rules and How this show works.

So here's a brief description of how this show works. Love never lies features six Spanish couples who are separated and sent to two different Vilas. They compete as they struggle to trust their partners., who are distracted by sexy single men and women.

All the while, having to be wary of the Eyedect( yes that is the name) which helps the contestant determine whether or not the partner is truthful or not. The prize for the winner is a cash prize of 100,000 euros( European currency), Which goes up or down depending on the contestant's honesty.

Yes, this is a Spanish show, Created by Spain and put on Netflix. The host and the contestants are Spanish. Now I'm Latin American or at least of latin american descent and I can tell you right now that this sucks. First off, The two Villa system. Now, Having two villas isn't that bad. But It really is bad when the contestants are separated from each other.

It would have been more entertaining if the couples were not separated and yet the singles showed up anyway. That would make for some interesting drama and conflict between the couples. But no, instead we have to separate them to make it more interesting (It's not). What's worse is that they show you what their partners are doing in the villa.

You have to pay some of your prize just to see some premium version or extra footage of your partner, Which really wasn't worth anything, other than to reinforce the fact just how horrible these people are.

But the worst part of the rules is the Eyedetect itself. This machine is basically a huge screen with a virtual eye in the monitor. Basically, this decides and tells who's lying and who isn't. It does not matter what you say or what you do, You are not safe from that eye. Green is for when someone tells the truth, and red is when someone tells a lie.

Not gonna lie, This thing fucks everything up from the get-go. Why In the name of God would you have a machine that is made to detect lies in a show where you have to trust your fucking partner? Doesn't this break the motive of the show and what it's trying to do?

What is the point of trying to trust your partner and believe in them when we have a machine to tell you the truth? This makes the whole thing of trust pointless if you have that there. I can't believe nobody at the production thought this was a bad idea. It just amazes me.

But yeah, The rules and how the show works suck ass, But you know what also sucks ass? The host and contestants themselves.

The Cast ( And why they suck)

Love never lies: Sardinia has an intriguing cast of characters here. and when I say intriguing, I mean that they are without a doubt some of the most horny, Hypocritical, and generally toxic people I have ever seen on tv. There are ways of making a cast of trashy human beings enjoyable to watch( Are you the one? for example). Love never lies does not accomplish this and proceeds to make the cast perpetually horrible.

Let's start with the host, Monica.

She's supposedly 48 but she looks like she's in her 60s or early 70s. Monica is without a doubt one of the worst hosts of any program I have ever seen since the Monokubs! Throughout the entire show, Monica is a sadist to the core. Pretty much she has a smirk whenever a truth or lie is going to be exposed. It's like she relishes torturing these people.

And yet she acts like she cares for them by comforting them when they're broken despite the fact that just a minute ago she was showing you clips of your partners fucking and pretty much doing it with a smile-like smirk on her face. Yet they somehow still worship her and thank her, like just stop with that shit, Please.

Also, her hosting skills are terrible, as she constantly has the need to interject with her narration, making you suffer even more. Also, the theme song is awful I have a feeling she sang it since she is a singer, which in any case Monica, You did an awful job.

But enough about this host sadist, Let's talk about the contestants. None of them ( With the exception of 2 or 3 people) are likable in the slightest. They are either horny, Self-righteous, or Hypocrites that just want sex.

Forgive me if you don't see photos of the cast, It's because Tumblr's uploading system is a fucking piece of balls. Here is the link to an article about them so you can see it.

Let's start first with Imma and Vicky, The first couple. Imma is just in her own league of bad where she cheated on Vicky before the show with this girl called Ceila. Turns out that Vicky and Celia were friends once before they met Imma, they spilt eventually over, so Imma pretty much fears Celia as does Vicky. But because things suck, Celia is here as one of the singles to take Imma away and stuff.

Imma just goes along with it for a bit until this dude called Juanlu shows up and she falls for him despite being a lesbian while Celia fades away in the background . Yeah,' Imma's just a mess. Vicky is somewhat better than Imma at first until they swap places and Vicky pretty much falls for this dude despite being a lesbian as well.

Pretty much, these two do nothing more than just betray each other( Although Vicky was faithful to Imma, Just the fact that Imma completely cheated on her).

Next is Irene and Asier

Asier is an absolute weirdo in the case that he just stands there with a worried and expressionless face most of the time. Yet somehow he gets three girls to fall for him, Two of which are fellow contestants. The dude doesn't even look like he wants to be here, let alone in a relationship with those people, Yet he somehow encourages it and pretty much just goes along with it, even allowing someone to lap dance on him. What the actual fuck? the dude's just bland and boring.

Irene is pretty much the only sane contestant in this show, Being one of the only logical ones in the game aside from Vicky( before she went with the dude) As well as she completely believes in Asier, which is why? I would have left the guy after he allowed a girl to do the lap dance on him. She does have her moments with another guy who I can't remember his name but other than that she's probably the best out of all of them.

Then we have Miguel and Alejandro.

Miguel is just something in the fact that he wants to believe in Alejandro despite Alejandro not giving a fuck. At first, he's optimistic in the fact that he sees Alejandro and the single having no chemistry to speak of, But then when Alejandro's new suitor Angel comes and goes in the bed with him, The dude just breaks into tears and has his optimism smashed. So Miguel doesn't trust Alejandro and moves with another guy, Raul(With who he has better chemistry by the way).

Alejandro is just like Asier except slightly better though not by much. He generally does not look like he wants to be here ( Which can be said about everyone in this show) . Count how many scenes the guy is in and he just has the same bored expression. Pretty much think of what I said about Imma and Vicky earlier except they are boys and they have had no best friend drama in the past.

Up next, Maria and Javier ( or Javi). This is when things start to go to shit fast.

Maria is just a mess. She starts off with some drama with Javi before they were on the show that he cheated on her. Then the Eyedect exposes the fact that Javi slept with three girls, and Maria is rightfully pissed. However, this is where things go downhill. Maria pretty much looks like someone straight out of mean girls. She's no Heather but she does really have the moments which make you think why we should care. She Hates javi, but by the end, she wants him back despite everything he did to her and the fact that she hates him. What?

It gets worse with the fact that once she sees Javi going at it with another girl, She has a mental collapse and is pretty much crying all over the place. Like this girl is mentally unstable. Ethier that or she's a really terrible actor. This is the same dude that does not give a fuck about you, so why should you care?

Javi is just as bad. He starts off with some drama with Maria due to him cheating on her with another woman. Then eyedetect reveals that he did the unforgivable sin of sleeping with three girls. Yes, you heard me, Three. While the act is horrendous itself, What this does to Javi is just as terrible. The show tries to give Javi a redemption arc and fails miserably at that.

They want to say that he's changed when he really didn't. All he did was just react to Maria's shenanigans in the villa, did sex with another girl and that was it. He did not change much aside from the fact that he wants to meet new people and stuff, and I was sitting there, wondering why I don't care. Yeah, these two are shit.

Then we have Lucia and Antonio, which ay Por Dios.

Let's start with Antonio. The dude is pretty much the most sympathetic guy in this whole show. He gets verbally smacked by Lucia and is treated like an attendant despite the fact that he cares for her. It wasn't until Antonio was shown footage of lucia falling for other guys and being a toxic person that Antonio just snaps. It's so bad that he didn't even want to see the premium version ( Which is when most of the contestants' optimism are broken), He just breaks down crying.

Eventually, though, He comes to hate what Lucia has become (despite her being this way from the start) And decides to go for his friend Julia. When Juila is around, Antoino becomes this absolutely horny as fuck dude that just enjoys having sex with Julia, who feels the same way. Calm the hell down Antonio! Control your damm hormones. Although that can be said for all of these people, they just want to sex someone and just party around and do lap dances. like this happens about every episode, with most of them doing sexual stuff way too often.

Lucia is just a massive bitch. She constantly puts down Antonio for the smallest of things, verbally abuses him, and at one point was even looking forward to leaving him. Her ego is so off the charts that she called him a hick. Yeah, she called her own boyfriend a hick on tv What the hell? Yet when she gets blame put on her, she refuses to say she was in the wrong and gets mad at Antonio for fucking Juila when she was literally doing the exact same thing. Just a shitty person in general, I feel for Antonio, man.

Last, but not least we have Sara and Gulliem who are the worst couple aside from Lucia and Antonio. I will try my best to get this over with because fuck, I want to get this show over with so I don't have to see it again.

Gulliem is just a rageaholic. He has so little trust in Sara, due to her doing some stupid stuff in the past. While that becomes justified ( Sara was a massive bitch) It is downright impressive how much Guillem made things worse with him sleeping with another girl in the villa( Who also conveniently happens to be named Sara as well, Just a 19-year-old one while Guillem is 25. Let that sink in). This pretty much causes Sara( the original one) to snap and after Guillem sees her going after Asier along with a dude called Aitor at the same time while also stomping on his jacket and doing lapdances to the guys, Guillem loses it and calls it quits with Sara.

I mean, Guillem was certainly in the wrong for sleeping with teen Sara, but it's not like Sara was faithful to him either. Pretty much both were in the wrong here.

But it's Sara herself who takes the cake as the worst contestant in the show. Not only was she doing lap dances, twerking, and cheating on Guillem constantly, but she's also a hypocrite and pretty much claims that it wasn't her fault to Guillem's face. Like hell, you didn't do anything work, he saw you from the villa. And she tries to go for Asier of all people. Yep, she falls for Asier, the most blandest and boring dude in the show. Also, Lucia falls for him as well, so fuck. Get fucked, Lucia and Sara, You absolute putas.

Overall, the contestants just suck. With the exception of Antonio and Irene, most of them are fake, hypocritical sex addicts. Almost all of them are shit or boring as hell and the host herself is a sadist.

Enough of this let's just get to the ending so I can spare you all the agony of this show.

The finale to a trashfire

The finale sucks, let's just get this over with. With Maria and Javi gone as well as Sara and Guillem after the girls decided to quit the show due to the fact that they can't handle those two having a good time without them( What absolute cunts they are). Sara and Guillem, in particular, make up after all of the drama that just happened and are back together, which why in the hell? These two were nothing but toxic to one another and yet they make up and put aside the beef they have against one another? What the fuck?

At least Maria and Javi had the decency of not making up with each other. In fact that goes for the entire finale as well, Everyone just makes with one another despite the absolute shit show that just happened. This is toxic and awful. Remember guys, If your romantic partner cheats on you and calls you a hick, The best thing to do is to talk it out and forgive them, what a great fucking message "sighs".

Imma and Vicky also have a marriage proposal that was obviously fake. Still, I don't know why the show decided to do that, possibly to boost ratings. But yeah, fake way of doing a marriage proposal about a couple that I don't care about.

But then we get to the winner of Love never lies: destination Sardinia and it's none other than Lucia and Antonio.

Yes, you read that correctly. Lucia and Antonio, the most toxic couple left in the villa, somehow win the season. This was the worst scenario to happen, Like why couldn't you guys pick Irene and Asier or hell, even Miguel and Alejandro would have been a better choice than Luica and Antonio. I'm so sorry you had to suffer like this Antonio, you deserved so much better than her.

Monica congratulates them and sheds some happy tears as if she helped them all, which is a pathetic sight in all honesty. And the show ends with everyone taking a dip on the beach and Monica teasing ta new season of love never lies. What a shitty end to a shitty season.

Conclusion

So that was love never Lies, destination Sardina. What a mess of a show, can't get anything right. never watching this mierda ever again

So that's it, Um I don't know how to end this. I wasn't expecting to do a review on this show honestly. Just felt bored and wanted to do something. Wanted to see if I could review another topic other than history and I think I did well. Honestly, I don't care really that I took this long, I just wanted to get this stupid show over with.

Actual quality analysis of the Korean War coming this weekend so keep an eye out for that. Thanks for reading and I will see y'all next time.

I'm basically rambling out loud about the writer-y things that I'll never manage to do, so there's a cut to spare those unconcerned.

I know I keep bringing up that this ridiculous length of my Buffyverse continuation, and how I keep adding to it, but dagnabbit, this is something that kept me going for a long time, and I have an actual genuine enthusiasm for making my development of this universe in some manner be a legitimate THING, even if it's just knowing where things would go, even if they never leave outline stage.

It's also kinda nifty, or at least I think so, to include a few "what if" scenario type miniseries into things. Y'know, things of the "but what if things played out differently?" variety. Like, with the Buffy books, one of my disappointments with them was when the trilogy of "what if Dark!Willow was never stopped?" was put out, but ended up turning back around to the original episodes' ending all the same - the trilogy was about exploring what made this all different, but then just went back to the same original conclusion? (My understanding is that this was editorial mandate and not what the author had wanted, which I fully believe.)

So I get to have these little side stories that actually explore the concept of "everything changes" (or, well, would if I were doing more than brief outlining everything, but, hey, in fantasy world, I get to put all these together). These could never really have happened back in the day, since the actors would need time to breathe and all, and doing a full season of the original show AND a mini-series or two at the same time would definitely have burnt out the actors, but since this is all fantasy, I get to do it anyway!

And I also have bits and pieces that introduce concepts and characters I originally used much later into things - so now it's all a grand connection.

It also means that I'm gonna end up going through things and revamping my original ideas - y'know, oh, I had this idea I don't really like that I can swap out for something better, oh I realize now that this idea kinda fizzled out, maybe I can replace it... Granted, that's gonna be merry hell when I get to the stuff that I'm spinning off to its own separate thing, cuz it ate up time here, and it got these characters an extended major role there, and now it's all going over to its own thing, so that's a major subplot I've got to take out and replace...

I enjoy the writing challenge to it all, apparently having set this aside for the better part of a decade was a good call in coming in with original ideas, but it does frustrate me that this is never going to go beyond my own outlines, cuz... I want to have these in a finished product form!

It also makes me all nostalgic for that virtual continuation/series boom that happened in the mid-2000s. I found a few of them that are at least still accessible and made to save them to my external (which, granted, I may need to start looking into having a backup for my backup, since the thing's gotten to needing a repair scan after every time I transfer it to my laptop and back to my desktop, which does fortunately fix it, but... Well, I have anxiety issues in general). And sure, quantity isn't quality, but y'all know how it is with lost media - it's not necessarily about how good it is so much as saying you have it.

All of this does, however, make me picture that fantasy DVD case for all these things and how monumentally sprawling and out of control it would be to actually account for all these things.

And, y'know, this is just me focusing on the Buffy side of things. I've got a whole bunch of Star Trek spinoffs I could put this focus on, plus a handful of handfuls of others that I'd totally be down for putting together as well.

Dammit, just let me spend my time putting together all the writer-y things I want, from the fanfic-ish to the original! I don't function well as a human being anyway, this would all be to the benefit of us all!

52: Writerly Questions...

Water: How did you start writing? - In the sixth grade, I started reading YA novels because my one friend was a fan of them and then I started writing my own "mini" stories (they weren't really full length anything's and tbh I don't think any of them had real plot lines lmao)

Earth: What do you think is the foundation of your WIP? - Hm... I think it's a loss of childhood/loss of who you used to be as a result of pain/trauma/circumstance. I think there's a little bit of a theme of identity too which ties into that loss as well as a loss of identity. So, I guess the answer is actually loss, generally.

Fire: What’s a scene that you are dying to write? - There's a moment I've been thinking about for a while where my main character, Holly, has to let go of her mother or she at least comes to this realization about her mother, and as a result has to confront this sense of a loss of dreams, loss of childhood, loss of hopes, etc. I feel like this moment is pivotal and vital to Holly, and while I know it will be emotional, I'm eager to write it because there's a piece of me attached to this moment.

Air: What’s the easiest part of writing for you? - None of it <3 (Creating characters tbh)

Shadows: What’s the darkest theme you’ve ever written about? - I'm not actually too sure. I write about loss a lot, but I don't know if I've ever gone really dark. I guess I've written a little on suicidal ideation in some of my poetry, but I haven't really explored dark themes in my fiction writing.

Lightning: What’s the most shocking plot twist you’ve ever come up with? - I don't think I have a shocking plot twist. (I've only just come back to fiction writing in recent years and have devoted too much time to brainstorming and planning over actually writing so I don't have a real answer for this one. Also, I never see my plot twists as "plot twists" because they're more plot twists to my character, not to the reader.)

Rain: Have you ever made yourself cry with your own writing? If so, what was it? - Not recently, but I did in the past when I was younger and I remember it had something to do with separating two characters. And to be super real, it probably was overdramatic and not sad at all because this was when I was like thirteen I think lmao. I have definitely cried writing poetry though, especially poems that were centered around my dad.

Grass: What’s the biggest change you’ve made in your WIP since you started it? - My wip has changed SO much!! My first idea for this project I had when I was eighteen, I think, so it's completely different, but I've made the biggest change lately. I cut out two characters I was really excited about, but there storylines weren't working so I cut them out and then the second biggest change was to my main character, Holly, who now has very powerful magic that is very vital to the main storyline regarding my antagonist.

Ice: What do you always get stuck on when writing? - I'm really prone to burn-out and imposter syndrome along with perfectionism which has just kind of snowballed into one large messy thing so I have a hard time actually allowing myself to write because I have a very negative mindset regarding my work and how much I want it to be "right" and "perfect". I wish I could just let myself create and not worry about that stuff.

Sand: What’s the softest scene you’ve ever written? - It's not technically a full scene, but a little ~drabble~ I wrote a couple years ago before I had really worked out the plot. I don't even truly remember what the snippet truly was, but it was regarding the love interest, Arrow, who was watching my main character, Holly, just do something very simple and it made him <3 soft <3

Rock: How do you deal with writer’s block? - Not gonna lie, I start crying and overthinking and get really bad anxiety. Healthier ways I've dealt with it in the past was listening to music and reading, but over the last few years, I haven't dealt well lmao

Clouds: How clearly do you picture a scene before you start writing it down? - I feel like I half-picture it. If I think of a scene, I immediately start writing it into my Notes app on my phone, but it's just a very small and basic glimpse of it. At this point in time, I haven't described setting or anything -- it's usually what a character is doing, thinking, or saying.

Metal: What’s the hardest part of writing for you? - Believing in myself and not letting imposter syndrome and/or feelings of perfectionism steal my creativity. I also have a hard time truly seeing my plot. I have no problems creating characters and seeing potential scenes, but I'm struggling currently with truly understanding the beats of my plot. I understand story structure, but when it comes to actually coming up with the beats for the story, I get all jumbled and stressed. I sometimes just struggle to envision my story past my characters which has been stressful.

Space: Where’s your favorite place to write? - The office space in my house. I always turn off the main light and turn on the lamp and sit in the big comfy chair. Recently I haven't been able to write in there because a) it's too hot during the summer, and b) we had to take the door off and haven't gotten a door to replace it and I HATE writing with the door open because I need complete silence to write.

Spirit: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received on your writing? - I don't really know. One that always sticks out to me is not really my writing on a whole, but I had written a scene and shared it to my creative writing class where I described my character's wet hair sticking to their cheeks like "the gnarled roots of an old tree" and people had shared some really great comments on how I had described things well and everything felt natural, and dialogue was realistic.

Psionics: How do you get into the heads of your characters? - I really struggle with this! I've recently taken up reading into the Enneagrams and assigning them to my characters which has helped me learn how they think and respond, but I'm still learning!

Summer: How do you know when you need a break from writing? - When I start overthinking, crying, and feel like I want to quit it entirely. (I cry about my writing a lot lmao)

Winter: Have you ever written a story based on a holiday? If yes, which holiday was it for and what was it like? - I wrote one little short story about Halloween. It actually wasn't really "about" Halloween, but it was a cute little love story of these two characters at a Halloween party which resulted in them finally getting together and agreeing to go out for a date.

Spring: Have you ever scrapped (a huge chunk of) a story to start over? Why did the change come about? - Yes! So this is what I was talking about earlier. Luckily, I haven't started writing yet so I scrapped the idea before I began, but I had two characters I was madly in love with and the one character (Becca) had such potential, but her storyline really didn't make sense with Holly's. Cassian, who was the other character I scrapped and I had planned for Becca to end up with, still makes sense regarding Arrow because they know each other in their pasts, but I still wanted him to end up with Becca so I decided to scrap them both with the idea in mind of either a spin-off book about them or I could re-introduce them as a subplot once I have the main plot truly figured out. My other qualm with Cassian was that I really got the feeling that he only existed as Becca's Love Interest, which really sucked. His story really felt like it was only there BECAUSE I wanted Becca to have a love interest and I want to be able to give him, if I go ahead with their story, to give him a full story that's not dependent on another character's love life.

Fall: Have you ever completely abandoned a WIP? What led to that decision. - I abandoned a lot of WIP's in high school because I never used to plan back then so I would rush into it and then lose motivation. I have a few plot bunnies in my notes app, but I haven't really started any so I wouldn't say they're abandoned, just on a back burner until I decide I really want to write them. Currently, there's a short story I'm working on but contemplating abandoning because I just don't feel a true passion for it.

the kid gets used to how big the von hagen estate is and it's their "normal", so when they went on a playdate once with a friend in preschool or kindergarten they went "why is your house so small 😐" and rosa had to immediately put her hand over their mouth like 😁 "sorry about that" while marius holds back a laugh

marius was a headache to deal with before and while they were dating. to put it very kindly, he's more mature now, but rosa's faced with their child- who is pretty much a carbon copy of the pax ceo. a mini marius.

marirosa's child has rosa's softer features and her eyes, but they have marius' hair colour. it's sometimes frightening to see the cheeky devilish smile which you're used to seeing on marius' face
