—>The biggest part of the surprise party is wishing YouTube kids a happy birthday, but in the most creative way possible. In the “ask me” works, but literally anywhere; on your blog or on a post from anywhere (that you know they’d be okay with a little shenanigans) works wonderfully.
->Also, saying happy birthday is awesome, but spicing it up would be more fun!!! Day Of Birth, One of Awakening, Oh Child of the 27th, and any other batshit way to say “happy birthday” would both be awesome and absolutely hilarious.

I’m going to assume that at this point you’ve all seen Critical Role’s new show Candela Obscura and at least skimmed through the Quickstart Guide (you have done all that riiiight??) So I wanted to compile all the things I’ve done that have been shown so far. Its long so read below the line!
I’m going to try to avoid spoilers. So feel free to read without worry. I’m also going to try and avoid breaking any NDA like a good professional. So I will not be doing some deep dive behind the scenes thing. Only visuals that have already been publicly shared are going to be on here
The very first thing I did on this show was the concepts for the main set. Everything is practical. Nothing is green screen or cg or whatever. Some people think it’s just good cg but nope that's all real. You could touch it! (don’t touch it, there are ghosts)
There were multiple iterations on the design, each with their own vibe and statement piece. CR narrowed it down to what you see in the show: a sort of storage hall with an odd clock contraption behind the GM. I think I called this design version the “Abyssal Hall” or something like that (I gave the different versions names to better keep track of which design was being discussed)
The company Flip This Bitch built the physical set. They turned my silly little art into a real thing. So they did all the actual magic of making this set come together in the end! They deserve a lot of the credit for it looking so good in the end.
Also that little piece of art in the bottom left of the preshow is a section from the final concept art of the set.
That contraption behind Matt is based on astrolabes and clocks. This isn’t really meant to be a literal astrolabe or a clock as we would use them in our world. Narratively this isn’t a device that measures either of the things that a traditional astrolabe or clock does. This is a special magickal tool that does a secret third thing.
Also I did concepts for the GM screen. You don't really see it besides in the fancy-shmancy preshow. There were a number of more intricate designs for it but CR went with the simpler option since the only part that would be visible on stream is the top, so that's where I put the most detail.
I should also note that I did not design the logo! It’s pretty prominent on the GM screen but I was supplied an already existing logo for this.
NEXT is the Taliesin enclosure set that you see in the trailer. This is actually meant to be like the lantern room on the top of a lighthouse, minus the big light beacon (You could say Taliesin is the beacon).

A lot of my art is sketches. They’re all meant to be like notes and drawings from members of Candela as they travel and notate their findings. Most of the notes on these sketches are my actually my notes when I was doing world building concepts, but they replaced my handwriting with a font because my handwriting sucks lmao (also likely for ease of future localization).
Also the cover of the Quickstart guide uses line art of a part of that astrolabe clock set piece. This line art was part of the deliverables that was sent over to Flip This Bitch for construction. They’re just using pieces of those set concepts everywhere!
As you can see I’ve done a lot of art for this project. I was part of this project when it was still early in development. It’s changed quite a bit from where we started.
I wasn’t the only one that made all this art happen though. Other artists, writers, and designers got to add their own vision to this. It was very much a collaborative effort that took a long time to happen. It’s very exciting to see everyone’s hard work come to fruition and there is a lot more to come!

rumor has it
synopsis: rumor has it that yu jimin, straight A student and the star captain of the university's volleyball team, has only gotten to where she is through cheating and bribery. now, she's your partner for a final paper.

notes: this is my first time uploading a piece on any media platform. feedback and comments are much appreciated!
the buzz of the students in the lecture hall dies down immediately as dr. kim, your english professor, walks in. you find your seat beside your best friend aeri and uncap your pen, ready to take notes. aeri, however, has different plans and rests her head on her arms, ready to catch up on sleep for the next hour. it isn't her fault that the university thought an 8 am english class was a great idea.
"good morning, class. let’s begin today’s lecture," dr. kim's voice echoes. with those words, you begin jotting down the professor's key points, making sure your handwriting is clear, knowing that the sleeping girl beside you will be asking for your notes later.
throughout the lecture, you can't resist sneaking glances at the girl two rows ahead of you. yu jimin sits there, in all her glory. you don’t know many people at this university, but it's nearly impossible not to recognize jimin.
her face adorns bulletin boards all over campus, celebrating her role as the victorious captain of the volleyball team that clinched the national championship for the university. from life-sized cutouts of her and the team placed around various corners to her frequent appearances on the university’s instagram story, it's harder to evade her presence than to acknowledge it.
although you aren't particularly interested in sports, you can't help but admit that she is extremely attractive. however, you’ve heard numerous stories about jimin's infamous reputation, primarily from the napping girl beside you. apparently, jimin is a rude and overall unpleasant person who got her high grades thanks to bribery and cheating.
an hour drifts by, and finally, dr. kim speaks the much-awaited words, "alright, class. i believe that concludes today’s session."
before you can pack your bag and make fun of your friend for drooling, dr. kim interjects, "oh, before i dismiss you, i'd like to announce that the final paper is approaching. it will be a paired effort." a glance between you and aeri implies your agreement to be partners.
"i will be assigning the pairs randomly," the professor states, pausing to allow the students to voice their groans and complaints.
"is she serious?" aeri asks you in a hushed voice. however, it wasn’t quiet enough.
"yes, miss uchinaga. i am indeed serious," you stifle a laugh as your best friend's ears turn crimson.
"as i was saying, this final paper will be done in pairs that i will randomly assign. you are all adults, and it's important to learn how to collaborate with people you don’t know. this paper will facilitate that skill." it takes all your restraint not to roll your eyes. it's way too early to be doing this.
“when i call your name, come up to my desk and pick a piece of paper from this box which has the names of everyone in this class. show me the piece of paper and i’ll announce it. if it’s your own name, you can draw again.” dr. kim looks around to make sure the class understands the instructions.
“it seems like everyone has understood so we’ll begin. miss uchinaga and miss y/l/n, why don’t you do the honors and pick out your pairs first.”
you and a much more awake aeri begin walking to the front, not missing the way jimin’s eyes quickly meet yours. maybe you just need some sleep just like aeri.
with a sigh, aeri goes first and is paired with the girl who is sitting on the right of jimin, a girl with the name ning yizhuo. she seems nice enough with the way she smiles at aeri when she hears her name.
you go up to the box and rummage through its contents. stopping at what you feel is an appropriate time, you unfold the paper and show it to your professor.
“it seems like ms. y/l/n’s partner for the final paper is yu jimin,” you make eye contact with her as the professor calls her name, and you give her a tight-lipped smile. she meets your eyes and only gives you a small nod. you and aeri go back to your seats.
as the professor continues to announce pairs, you notice a mix of expressions – excitement and disappointment – on the faces of your classmates. some seem genuinely happy with their partners, while others exchange anxious glances.
“i am giving you all 2 months to work on this paper. please do not procrastinate. this is a major paper, and your grade on it will have an immense effect on your final grade overall,” dr. kim announces before she leaves the room.
the buzz of the students in the lecture hall continues once more, with the majority of the class talking to their partners. you take a quick look at your partner, who was still sitting next to what seemed to be two of her close friends, one of which was aeri’s partner and the other was a girl named minjeong, her co-captain.
“i’m scared,” you tell your best friend. “what if she makes me do all the work?”
“hey, don’t judge a book by its cover – or i guess a person by their rumors,” aeri says, getting up from her chair.
“you’re the one who told me those rumors in the first place!”
“i would say i was spreading valuable information, not rumors,” aeri reasons as you both begin walking to exit the front door of the lecture hall.
before you both could step out the door, you feel a tap on your shoulder. you turn around, not expecting a certain raven-haired girl to be the one behind you.
“hi, y/n. i’m jimin,” she introduces herself to you bluntly without a smile on her face, how welcoming. before replying, you nod goodbye to aeri, encouraging her to go on without you.
“nice to meet you, jimin.” it was your first time talking to this girl, but immediately you could feel the pressure of her presence. you could barely look her in the eyes.
“here’s my number,” jimin hands you her phone with her contact information bright on the screen. “i have another class after this, but i’ll text you so that we can meet and talk about the paper.”
you nod, pulling out your phone and copying the numbers from her screen onto yours.
putting her phone back into her pocket, jimin begins walking out of the room with her two friends trailing not so far behind her.
“oh, and by the way, y/n,” jimin stops in her steps and stares you down in the eyes, “i won’t make you do all the work. i don’t trust you enough with my grades.”
you stand there, mouth slightly agape and face hot from embarrassment, watching the three girls walk out of your sight.
fuck.
"y/n, it's not that bad," aeri attempts to comfort you as she took a bite of her sandwich. hours had passed since you were paired with jimin, and now you found yourself in a university common space, trying to have lunch with aeri. however, the embarrassment from your earlier encounter was dampening your appetite.
"she probably hates me now, i can feel it," you sighed dramatically, plopping your head onto the cold table.
"what you're feeling is probably hunger. eat," aeri said, digging through your bag to retrieve your packed lunch. “it’s not your fault you didn’t know she had superhuman hearing,” aeri tries to make light of the situation.
"she's going to tell all her followers that i'm an asshole, and i'm somehow going to get expelled from this university," you exclaim with an exaggerated groan.
you're well aware you're being overly dramatic, but considering the rigorous academic demands of this university and the looming assignments, papers, and tests from multiple classes, your nerves are at an all-time high.
"first of all, calm down," aeri set her sandwich aside. "second, i know i'm the one who keeps you updated with all the campus gossip since you're practically a dorm hermit. but seriously, rumors are just rumors."
you didn't understand why she had to point out your introverted, homebody habits. "you should just let go of those rumors and form your own opinion about her once you actually get to know her."
you don't reply as you open up your lunch and began taking small bites. that was one of your biggest dilemmas. if you looked up "opinionated" in the dictionary, it would feature your face as an antonym.
always going with the flow, never wanting to stand out or have a loud presence, you'd rather take what you're given than go out and seek something yourself. hell, you couldn't even form an opinion on a tiktok without first checking the comments to see what the majority of viewers thought.
before you could spiral deeper into your thoughts, your phone vibrates.
yu jimin
this is jimin.
i’m free at 3 pm today. let’s meet at the library if you’re free too.
“who’s that,” aeri asks as she notices your eyes skimming over your phone. “it’s jimin, she wants to meet at the library later today,” you answer.
y/n
hi, jimin.
i’m free. i’ll see you then.
“ugh, i don’t want to go,” you complain to aeri.
“y/n, are you hearing yourself?” your best friend gives you a deadpan look, “this paper is worth more than half of our final grade. if you fail this paper, you’re going to fail the class.”
the weight of her words sinks in, and you're reminded of the possible consequences of not taking the paper seriously. of course, you knew that you had no choice but to go and work with the infamous volleyball team captain. while you were still quite mortified from your earlier interaction with her, you didn’t want to fail out of college just yet.
only the distant hum of quiet conversations and the faint rustle of pages moving could be heard as you enter the library.
as you weave your way through the bookshelves toward the back, you finally lay eyes on the person you were looking for. jimin is focused on whatever content is displayed on her laptop. you can't help but notice her furrowed brows and the subtle movement of her lips as she reads the text in a hushed voice. the sun's rays cast a gentle glow on the contours of her face, accentuating her features.
curse this university for having naturally well-lit buildings.
you gently tap her shoulder, careful not to startle the focused girl. you wish you could say that her expression softened the moment she turned and spotted you, but if anything, her features seemed to tighten. this was going to be a fun time.
“hi,” you say quietly to jimin as you sit down in the open chair in front of her.
"let's begin," she immediately suggests while you retrieve your laptop from your bag. "i understand that we could work on this individually in separate places since we both have access to this document, but i personally prefer collaborating face-to-face with my partner, especially for a final paper." you give a nod in agreement to jimin's proposal.
for the next hour, you and jimin discuss only the paper's details, staying firmly on the subject of your final paper. she has already outlined the content the two of you will cover, assigned each of you specific sections to write, and established a schedule for completing each part.
at one point, she asks, "what do you think? you haven't said a word about anything i’ve mentioned." her eyes remain fixed on the shared document displayed on both your screens, with a majority of the content coming from jimin.
"i mean, i'm fine with whatever," you reply. in group papers, you've never been inclined to voice your opinions or contribute ideas. don’t get it wrong, you're certainly not a freeloader, but you've never assumed the role of a group leader either.
"not even a single suggestion or comment?" she finally lifts her gaze from her laptop, locking eyes with you. you instantly break the brief eye contact you shared.
"no, i’ll give you some if i come up with any. besides, we still have 2 months ahead to tackle this paper," you explain, trying to reason with her. she releases a deep sigh and shifts her focus back to her laptop.
she clearly isn't your biggest fan.
"i think that's all we should do today. we've got a solid plan in place, and we can use the upcoming days to gradually work on this paper," she informs you, sliding her laptop into her bag.
you nod, following suit and tidying up your side of the table.
"i have classes from 8 am until 3 pm back-to-back," jimin rises from her seat and pushes her chair in. "i've got volleyball practice every day of the week, starting at 4 pm, except for wednesdays and thursdays." you raise your eyebrows at the mention of her grueling schedule.
“so, we can meet at the library on wednesdays and thursdays after my last class, which is at 3 pm," she looks at you, and you get the feeling that she's not suggesting a meet-up but rather informing you that it's already arranged.
“sounds good with me, i’m free those days as well,” you inform her with the awareness that she had already assumed so.
as she turns to leave, a feeling inside you compels you to apologize for the comment you made about her to aeri in the lecture hall earlier. but before you can muster the courage to do so, she's already gone.
for the next two weeks, you and jimin meet up at the library on wednesdays and thursdays. while you still saw her during your 8 am class, she was only focused on the lecture or in conversations solely with yizhuo and minjeong. however, in the privacy of the library, your interactions with her only happen through the shared online document where your collaborative work took place.
actual conversations, if they could even be labeled as such, between the two of you were few and far between. the only topic that managed to breach the silence was the ongoing discussion about the final paper.
during lunch, you update aeri about your library sessions with jimin. between bites of food, you express your worry, "i honestly don't know how i'll survive working with her for the next two months. it's not that she's a bad partner or anything. i just feel so awkward around her, like i want to disappear into the ground every time we're in that library."
aeri raises an eyebrow and helps herself to a piece of your food. "have you ever tried having a conversation that’s not about the paper with her? maybe if you initiate something, she'll actually have a real conversation with you."
thinking about it now, you realize that you've never actually initiated a conversation with jimin throughout the weeks of meeting up. it's always been her leading the discussions about the paper while you simply go along with whatever tasks need completing.
you sigh, setting down your utensils. "she probably can't stand me."
aeri counters with an exclamation, "she doesn't even know you! besides, she's not exactly a nobody on this campus. she's likely heard worse things from others. i doubt she even remembers whatever you said, considering her only focus is volleyball and school."
"sometimes, i really hate how you're right," you grumble, starting to clean up your lunch.
aeri smirks, taking the last bite of her food. "which is pretty much all the time."
with aeri’s words in mind, you walk into the library a little bit after 3 pm to where you and jimin sat. as per usual, jimin was already there with her laptop out, typing away.
"hey," you say in a hushed tone as you sit down. "i swung by the campus cafe before heading here and picked up a little something for you." you hold out a brown paper bag across the table, containing a warm muffin.
"food isn't allowed in the library," she remarks, not even lifting her gaze from her laptop.
you inhale sharply, feeling your cheeks flush with embarrassment. before you can pull your arm back, she reaches for the bag.
"but still, thank you. i'll save this for later," jimin looks up and offers you a nod with a ghost of a smile on her lips. “let’s get to work.”
around 30 minutes pass by and the silence has enveloped the two of you as it usually does in your meetings.
you stop your typing, that familiar feeling in your stomach urging you to break the silence. you find yourself wondering, what's the point? like aeri mentioned, jimin has probably heard worse things, and once this paper is finished, she'll likely forget all about you. after all, you're just another face in the crowd to her.
from the corner of your eye, you catch jimin glancing your way, noticing your sudden pause and distant expression.
“y/n,” she calls out, her voice pulling you back to the present moment.
you snap your attention to her. “yes?” you shake your head in an attempt to stop being swallowed by your thoughts. “did you say something?”
she raises an eyebrow, her gaze attentive. “that was the fifth time i tried getting your attention. are you alright?” you want to believe that there’s some sort of concern behind her question rather than just an act of common human decency.
“oh, yeah. my bad. i’m just tired. didn’t get much sleep last night,” you excuse. it wasn’t the truth but it wasn’t a complete lie either.
“that’s understandable, this semester is crazy,” jimin replies to you turning her focus back to her laptop.
"you're probably having the craziest semester out of any student here on campus," you remark, surprising yourself with the sudden courage to continue the conversation.
"what makes you say that?" jimin pauses in her work to look at you.
"i mean, i may not have the best knowledge of university sports, but even i know that being a team captain isn’t necessarily an easy responsibility. much less being the captain of a team with a national championship title under its belt," you explain. "plus, you have back-to-back classes from 8 am to 3 pm every day, and i assume you’re doing well in them, given the quality of your work in our shared class alone."
she lets out a quiet laugh - that was the first time you've heard it. "are you sure you’re not just making wild assumptions?"
your palms start to get sweaty, and you feel like you’ve definitely made a mistake. "i’m sorry-"
"i’m just joking," jimin interrupts you. "it’s absolutely not an easy schedule, but if you have to do it, you find a way. yizhuo and minjeong help me out a lot too."
"what do you mean 'have' to?" you silently curse at yourself for prying into her personal life.
"this is the most i’ve heard you talk, y/n," jimin says to you.
"i could say the same to you," you reply. "but, uh, don’t answer if you don’t want to, or if it’s too pers-"
jimin interrupts you once more. "it’s okay. i don’t mind. i prefer when people actually want to get to know me rather than making crazy assumptions that aren't true at all."
a twinge of guilt washes over you. even though you're disconnected from the campus social life, jimin's reputation has managed to reach your ears. many things have been circulated about her – from her attitude to her accolades, and even details about her love life, none of which appeared positive.
"back when i was younger," jimin begins, her vulnerability taking you by surprise, "my parents pushed me incredibly hard to excel in school. naturally, like most parents, they had aspirations for my success. they enrolled me in after-school tutoring to make sure i did better than all the kids in my grade. they also encouraged me to choose an extracurricular activity so that i’m not always buried in books. that's when i chose volleyball, obviously."
you absorb each word she says, intent on not missing a single one. here was yu jimin herself, an enigma of existence - simultaneously adored and despised. and now, right before you, she opens up and shares her story. the reason for her trust in you to this extent, allowing herself to be vulnerable, confuses you, yet you don’t mind at all.
“i have an older sister. she’s a hotshot lawyer now. she did well in high school and did very well in college unsurprisingly,” jimin shares and you notice a gleam of admiration in her eyes. “our parents never compared us to one another and we’re actually really close. besides yizhuo and minjeong, she’s one of the few people i can call my best friend.” you nod as she continues telling her story.
"my parents stopped pushing me so hard in high school," jimin continues, her eyes fixed on you to see if you’re still listening. you are. "they believed that i needed to find motivation within myself and take charge of my actions so that i wouldn't become overly dependent on them."
"so, no, my origin story isn't about parental pressure or living up to my sister's achievements. i believe i have to do well because... i want to. i have this belief that i'm destined for greatness, so i'll dedicate everything i can to achieving it,” jimin’s gaze turns serious. “even if it means having to deal with people who want to spread nasty rumors about me.”
you sit there in silent awe. you realize jimin was your complete opposite. jimin embodies a sense of ambition and dedication that you rarely exhibit. while you've often approached situations with passivity, avoiding confrontation, jimin radiates an unwavering pursuit of her goals.

"it was only a matter of time. i couldn't stand hearing jimin talk about her endlessly, looking like an oblivious lovesick puppy that was kicked onto the street," minjeong rolls her eyes at the memory of her friend. "i'm glad she finally admitted it to herself too."
"it wasn't minjeong's idea at all! it was my idea to go to the campus cafe that morning when you told us she'd be there," yizhuo points out. "plus, let's not take any credit from y/n. we may have given her some hope that jimin liked her, but at the end of the day, she was the one who made the move." aeri and minjeong nod, agreeing with yizhuo’s points.
“how’d you even know y/n was going to be at the cafe before class, aeri?” minjeong asks, finishing plating the dishes.
“she texted me she couldn’t sleep and asked if i wanted coffee before our 8 am class at 4 in the morning that day,” aeri explains.
“makes sense,” yizhuo points out.
the three girls make their way over to where you and jimin are seated, each holding plates of food in their hands. aeri takes the seat next to you, while minjeong and yizhuo settle on the floor amidst pillows and blankets, arranging the plates.
your gaze occasionally shifts from the movie playing to the people around you. there's a sense of contentment in this simple act – being in each other's presence, a shared moment that speaks volumes beyond words. back then, it was difficult for you to decide what you wanted and even what to think. now, looking around, you know for sure what you want.
you turn to face jimin when she squeezes your hand under the blanket. here she was, in all her glory.
you inch closer to her, resting your head on her shoulder. despite the gentle embrace of that moment, an urge runs through you - to dismantle each and every single dreadful rumor about jimin. she was more than just the petty and nasty words of thoughtless individuals who thrived on idle gossip.
in your eyes, she embodied all that was beautiful and kind in the world. with her by your side, fear dissolved into insignificance, its grip over you gone.
“i really like you,” you whisper, only for her to hear.
“i know. i really like you too,” she whispers back to you.

Dorothy Dandridge (Carmen Jones, Porgy and Bess, Island in the Sun)— The first Black actress to ever be nominated for best actress, Dorothy Dandridge was a groundbreaking actress who deserved better. She started her career as a singer, being put in a song-and-dance duo with her sister by their stage mother, and singing in soundies (I highly recommend cow cow boogie, it's adorable), proto-music videos. She started appearing as a featured singer in films. Her star was on the rise and she soon became a star solo performer. She continued acting, but had limited options because she refused to do stereotypical roles. She finally landed a starring role in Bright Road in 1953, but it was the movie Carmen Jones that truly cemented her as a star and sex symbol. Not to sound cheesy, but she literally sizzles on screen. You can't help but understand how poor Harry Belafonte gets caught in her trap, just look at her. This is the role that got her that Oscar nom. She didn't win cause I mean #OscarsSoWhite, but she was a sensation and continued starring in films, despite troubles in her life (including a shitty director bf who fucked with her career and a traumatizing pregnancy/delivery). Outside of her filmwork, she was also an activist, fighting against racism. She left behind an amazing legacy, and continues to inspire many actresses to this day (including also very hot first (and only) black woman to win best actress, Halle Berry).

Anyone else had new thoughts on who Crowley was before the ‘fall’ since Season 2 aired…
I know the Raphael theory is still knocking about (actually had a weird epiphany regarding this last night so more of that later) but I think Crowley was an entirely different angel.
From Season 2 we now know he was a very powerful angel indeed (dominion, throne or greater) thanks to his classified document clearance in heaven, but also because of the seriously powerful miracle he and Aziraphale cooked up with very minimal effort.
After an initial idea and since doing some research, I’m leaning towards him being Samael, Angel of Death.
Now I don’t mean Samael as in the one who becomes Lucifer - there are many texts that see these as two separate entities, with Lucifer falling thanks to his pride and Samael… well did he even fall at all?
Samael is one of the Angels of Creation alongside Orifiel, Anael, Zachariah, Raphael, Gabriel and Michael. In Season 2 in episode 1 we see Crowley as an Angel playing a pretty big part in the creation of the cosmos, in collaboration with others.
Samael is the ruler of the Fifth Heaven, which happens to be Earth.
Samael is known as the “Venom of God” and is executioner of death sentences as decreed by God. He is the accuser, seducer and destroyer. As a seducer, Samael tempts humans into committing evil deeds. Through Samael, God tests humanity and the Archangel draws out the sinful and unrepentant, then God judges then and Samael destroys them.
In seducing humanity into acts of evil, Samael is just doing his job. He is both good and evil and is highly loyal to God’s word, doing his bidding without question - he mostly destroys sinners.
Samael is also the one who planted the Tree of Knowledge in the garden of Eden to tempt Adam. God however forbade Adam to touch it and punished Samael by banishing him. In retaliation, Samael took the form of the serpent and tempted Eve to eat the fruit from the tree.
When Abraham’s faith was tested by God and commanded to sacrifice his son Isaac, it was Samael who whispered in his ear to disobey.
So where does Crowley fit into this then? Well Samael hasn’t exactly ‘fallen’ from heaven, his angelic role took him down to Earth, performing deeds considered demonic and evil and his refusal to bow down to God’s creation led to his banishment. You could say he ‘sauntered vaguely down’?
We know from Season 1 that Crowley was the serpent that tempted Eve so he fits into the Samael theory there.
In Season 2 we see that Crowley had a ‘permit’ from God to destroy Job’s children and possessions to test his faith in God.
In Season 1, Crowley talks to God and says “I know you’re testing them, you said you were going to be testing them. But you shouldn’t test them to destruction. Not to the end of the world.”
So whilst Samael is an Angel, he very much has the role and characteristics of a demon and can be described as a fugitive or wanderer.
Regarding Samael planting the Tree of Knowledge, who else do we know with a bit of a plant fetish?!
Some other fun facts: Samael has red hair, and is associated with the planet Mars. He is also associated with the left side, the North and Tuesday.
It’s also said that Samael’s name shouldn’t be spoken aloud so as not to draw his attention - is this why Crowley chose a different name and doesn’t introduce himself to Aziraphale at the Horsehead nebula?

So here’s the slightly scary part and if Crowley actually was/is Samael…
In the Second Coming (as was mentioned as Heavens next focus at the end of season 2) the messiah is supposed to deliver everyone from death and everyone will be resurrected. But he’ll do more than bring life, he’s supposed to bring an end to death itself, including the very concept of it. Without the finality of destruction, the Angel of Death (Samael) serves no purpose and is himself, annihilated. Thus, with death undone, Samael becomes the Anti-Christ.
Could season 3 see Aziraphale finally forced to make a choice between heaven and the one he loves?

RAIN CODE ZINE - Interest Check Results!
Hello! After a week, we've gathered an encouraging 88 responses! With that in mind, I've decided to go through with the zine 🎉🎉🎉
Here is the full results report:
In terms of participating, we have an overwhelming majority wishing to participate as artists! There's a fairly even split between writers and readers only, and just slightly less on anyone willing to take on either writer/artist roles. With this in mind, I've considered having this zine include 24 artists, 3 digital merch artists, and 6 writers, not including the moderators.
Here are the results regarding the zine's theme. We will be focusing on a general RAIN CODE zine! However, there will still be a theme so the zine can remain cohesive.
The theme is: A Trip Down Memory Lane!
For this theme, I'm hoping for a variety of pieces focusing on each chapter of the story, from the prologue to the epilogue. I'll permit some pre-game and post-game works as well, but would prefer a major focus on the canon story.
We have a staggering dominance of people preferring to be an art moderator. Even with this in mind, we will be accepting one art moderator and one writing moderator. I will handle scheduling. Applications for both will be sent out soon.
Most people have agreed on a writer/artist collaboration, which means that 6 of the artist participants will be paired with a corresponding writer to draw art that accompanies their writing.
Most folks would be willing to have digital merch attached to the zine! We will accept 3 artists to make digital merchandise. The merchandise doesn't need to fit into any one chapter, so the rules will be a bit looser on what the art can portray.
And those are the results!
Regarding some suggestions and questions asked in the interest check:
You should add keychains/physical merch/ physical copies.
Full disclosure, this is the first zine I've ever run, so this zine will be a free, digital only PDF. This is to keep it as simple and manageable as possible.
A cosplay section?
I would count cosplay under art. When I release artist applications, cosplayers are welcome to submit cosplay photos and even create them as entries to the final product.
Artists should make promo art!
Once I have co-moderators and participants, any artists who are willing to offer simple doodles for promotional material are welcome to contribute.
Link contributor's Ao3 accounts in the zine?
The zine will offer full credits for all participants in the zine. This includes any preferred social media accounts for sites such as Ao3, Wattpad, Twitter, Tumblr, and anywhere else.
How will this be scheduled?
I intend to drop a full schedule post soon, but the basic rundown will be:
15 Jan - 22 Jan: Moderator Applications
24 Jan - 25 Jan: Moderator acceptance/rejection emails sent out, mods invited to the zine's discord server and emailing list.
1 Feb - 20 Feb: Artist/Writer Applications

“Joker Out about success, Let 3 and the Eurovision Song Contest: We are big fans of kitsch!”
Interviewed by Matej Ivušić.
We talked to Slovenian rock 'n' roll sensation Joker Out, the young men who, after a successful performance at Eurovision, sold out Tvornica kulture twice in a few hours, where they will perform in mid-November
Joker Out is the newest sensation of Slovenian, regional and European rock 'n' roll, the result of a very successful performance at this year's Eurovision. They got together in 2016 in Ljubljana, and they have two albums. The band members are Nace Jordan, Bojan Cvjetićanin, Kris Guštin, Jure Maček, and Jan Peteh. They stopped in Zagreb on their way to Belgrade to, among other things, satisfy the media's hunger for interviews as well as to get to know Tvornica kulture, a venue they sold out twice in just a few hours and where they will have two concerts in November. The line for the interview was long, so it's no wonder that everything was a bit late. While we were waiting, their PR Gregor Zalokar kept us company, and he revealed in a pleasant conversation that the boys would perform as an opening act for the renowned band Franz Ferdinand at this year's Špancirfest. What we experienced for the first time was that the interview was interrupted at one point for the boys to sign a bill from the mother of one Ivana, and she will surely remember that day. Although mainly Bojan was giving the answers, everyone wanted to be present during the interview, thus making the atmosphere exceptionally relaxed and cheerful. We mostly talked about their meteoric rise, performance at Eurovision, collaboration with the legendary Elvis Costello, and their plans.
How does it feel selling out two Tvornica kulture in such a short period of time?
Before the concert at Šalata with the group Buč Kesidi, we thought we could count on a solo concert of 250-300 people in Croatia. After that concert, we started thinking about selling out one Tvornica by November. The day before the announcement of Tvornica, we were in agony, skeptical - it is a large space, after all. What happened is unreal. It's incredible that we are in Tvornica for the first time today and we managed to sell it out. It reminds us of Kino Šiška in Ljubljana, that's the vibe. It's bizarre that we released a concert for November that sold out after five hours, and we thought - it's a shame that it's not this Friday!
Although you sing in Slovenian, it is not an obstacle in the region. People see you as their own. Have you considered switching to English, or will you stay with Slovenian?
We will, absolutely, work in multiple languages. Most of the songs on the third album will probably be in English, but I can't say for sure. We will most certainly work in English, Slovenian, and Serbo-Croatian. We are even considering some Spanish and French options. We don't want language to be a limitation for us. It even seems that this experimentation with languages will open new doors to us, which we don't expect, and draw creativity in a different direction. If Enrique Iglesias comes, I think they understand him just as much as us in Slovenian, maybe even less, and that has never been a problem. We don't know why Slovenian would be a problem. If you look at Måneskin, they do it – a little bit in Italian, a little bit in English.

And what kind of music did you listen to growing up?
Basically, it was rock 'n' roll, different types of rock 'n' roll. Kris mostly listened to The Beatles and Brit-rock music, Nace mainly Fleetwood Mac, some Pink Floyd, and hip-hop. Jure is a big fan of Dire Straits and Parni Valjak.
Parni Valjak?
We are all big fans of Parni Valjak! We even went to the last concert they had in Slovenia. It was great. We also listened a lot to Slovenian music, Slovenian rock music like Siddharta. A great role model is ex-Yu rock and ABBA later on.
I have a related question - how do you view the legacy of the Yugoslav New Wave? Is it the best music from around here?
Bojan: It would be enough for me to listen to the music that has been created on the territory of the former Yugoslavia for the rest of my life. If they shut down all my other media, I wouldn't have any problem with it. As for me, that's the maximum. I'm not talking about the new wave only. I'm literally talking about the end of the sixties; there were great sequences then already. I am a big, big fan of Balkan music.

What would shagadelic rock 'n' roll be? I know it has something to do with Austin Powers, but can you elaborate a bit?
We were part of the biggest band competition in Slovenia and, purely for fun, to stand out, we said that the genre we play is shagadelic rock 'n' roll. Now we see that it applies to the sincere, joyous feeling we have on stage, which translates very well to the audience. When asked why it is, it is because it is honest. People feel friendship, they feel happiness, which is a natural thing for them. It became clear at our concerts, especially now that we are playing outside of Slovenia.

Why did you decide to perform at Eurovision? That competition is usually, at least from the perspective of people who play rock 'n' roll, looked down upon - it's a parade of kitsch...
We are big fans of Eurovision and kitsch! We think it is positive that we are not a rock band, but a rock 'n' roll band, a shagadelic rock 'n' roll band. That means that we are not ready to accept established frameworks. The result we are experiencing now is the result of always saying 'no' to those frames. We certainly play pop-rock and mainstream music, but there is more hidden inside than the surface - that's why it was successful. Eurovision was a wonderful mini-experiment, a chapter in our book that we really wanted to experience once in our lives. We are happy that we got to experience it this year, as if everything is happening at the right moment. Anyone who says they don't want to go to Eurovision wants to go to Eurovision but will never be there.

How was it to you?
Terrible! It was a great experience, not only in Liverpool but also at all the pre-parties in Europe. We were in Barcelona, Madrid, Warsaw, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, and London. We met all the representatives of other countries. We are even performing with the representatives of Ireland. We had two concerts in Dublin and now have a British tour. Many doors are opening for us. It was stressful, but also a wonderful experience, which we will remember for the rest of our lives.
How did you like the performance of the Croatian representative?
They were great! They hit everything from start to finish. The song speaks for itself, but visually it was one of the strongest performances. As people, they left a good and positive impression on us. We spent a lot of time with them, they were very warm and accepted us very nicely. We are proud of that. It is a band with a long history, after all.

Yes!
We were collectively on a safari. A lion attacked a neighbouring truck, attacked Elvis. We jumped off the truck and caught the lion. We held him long enough for Elvis to run back to the truck. After that, he had huge scratches on his legs and arms. To calm him down, we gave him headphones with our album. The song 'Novi Val' calmed him down so much that he wanted to write lyrics in English. When he was in the hospital, we held his hand while he received the antibiotic, and we sang together. It came to the point that it had to be a collaboration.
Did you make this up right now, or is it a story you usually tell?
It's not a story. It happened. It's true.

As young people, do you follow the most popular genre at the moment – trap?
If you want to follow the music scene in the Balkans, you have to follow trap. We don't listen to it, but we have a lot of friends who listen to Voyage, for example. We'll probably start hanging out with these artists soon, performing together, which seems fun. We got introduced to z++ at Šalata. He is the only trap artist who is pop enough to be great to listen to. We were starstruck. We hope that there will be more such opportunities in the future. In the club, that is fine too, but in the general spirit it may be a sign that something is wrong with society, purely because of the message, not because of the music. The theme is usually pure hedonism that is not based on reality. There is a lot of crime, which might be reflected in society. Maybe we need more songs about love, even if it's an unhappy one.
Would a collaboration with Senidah be acceptable to you?
Senidah is, collectively, very dear to us. She was the first Slovenian performer who 'killed it' in the Balkans after a long time, but it was music in the Serbo-Croatian language. It was a sign that it's possible to go out of the area that is not accepted as the Balkans, and still succeed there. We wanted to try what she was doing.

What are your future plans?
A lot of plans. We pride ourselves on still being an independent artist. We base all plans on the fact that a team can withstand it. We're going on a UK tour, a short tour – Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, London, which was, amazingly, sold out in five minutes. We will play in the Electric Ballroom in London, a legendary venue in Camden where the greatest artists have played, which is beyond reality. We will also have a Nordic tour - we play five concerts in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. We are also planning other European countries, which we will not announce now because we do not have confirmed dates yet. There will be at least one new single along with the start of working on a new album and concerts in Europe.

sooo i think about classpect a lot still because Special Interest and here's a summary of my general thoughts on it.

i feel like a lot of people either 1) generally agree with the popular fandom consensus and don't look beyond that or 2) overcompensate by trying to have The True And Correct Take. however, there is a crucial thing being overlooked with both of those viewpoints which is that you can do whatever you want! forever!! :3
i (mainly) use classpect-as-narrative-arc. this is neither Correct nor Incorrect! the same is true of literally any other theory, by nature of it being a Theory. that is ok! i think everyone should generally do what they find most fun/most interesting/most helpful for their story/creation.
i do also think that it's worth keeping an open mind and taking the time to consider different viewponts, but that doesn't mean your own has to change. it just means you should look out for new ideas so that you don't miss any that you think are cool! sometimes there's ideas that you could totally have fun with and incorporate into your system if you just considered it for a second, and realized that it is kind of an awesome concept.
but the most important thing will always be HAVING FUN, like in a general sense ^-^ for example, i use classpect-as-arc in most of my homestuck-adjacent stories, but i have some other ones where i go for classpect-as-forced-role instead because of the themes i want to explore there. and there are a couple of settings i've created where classpects are nothing but powersets, and are irrelevant to the plot outside of that. i think this kind of mixing and matching is a good approach that keeps you from getting locked into one way of thinking! plus it means you get to play around a lot more.
if your goal is only to analyze the canon text, you might not be so interested in the less canon-compliant takes. that's ok too! but until we get actual confirmation on Any of these theories (which might never happen -n-) it's going to be really up in the air, which i'm... honestly kind of glad for at this point? part of me isn't entirely convinced that hussie even had a single definitive answer in mind, which wouldn't be that surprising really, though one may have been decided on after the fact. or maybe there's some Super Secret Truth that existed all along and just hasn't been revealed to us!
either way, use the concept of classpects however you want, because no one can stop you!!!! >:3 you are the artist, it is you! write and draw what inspires you! and support other people who do the same!! maybe even COLLABORATE so you can make BIGGER COOLER THINGS >:D

Harry Styles has had one hell of a year, ensuring that going forward his career will never be the same as it was. In addition to the release of his third solo studio album, Harry's House, which debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 200, he hit movie theaters in both the paranoia thriller Don't Worry Darling and gay romance My Policeman.
In addition to drawing notice for his first leading roles on the big screen, Styles made headlines (for many reasons) with his press tours for both movies as they premiered at glamorous fall film festivals. Then, there's the world tour, which has been entertaining flocks of screaming fans since September 2021 and isn't slated to end until next summer.
To honor the former British boy bander as one of EW's 2022 Entertainers of the Year, Big Mouth creator Nick Kroll — who acted opposite Styles in Don't Worry Darling — pays tribute to the pop and movie star.
If Harry Styles were just to put out an album or just go on tour or just put out one movie, that would be an accomplishment. The fact that he is able to do all of these things in the same year — and then, still be a human being who you can drop in and have a real conversation with — is incredible. The elephant in the room is all the noise around his personal life. To navigate all of that, stay above the fray and to continue to try to make his art, it's a tightrope to walk. He is able to navigate it with a ton of class and grace.
When you watch him on stage, there's a buoyancy. There's clearly real joy in his performance. That's not dissimilar to how he is as a person. When you're with him, it doesn't feel like you're getting a show. It feels like you're getting a chat. On set, it surprised me how genuinely connected he was to everyone he came into contact with. Oftentimes people who are super unbelievably famous have to create some emotional boundaries. There was not a wall up, which frankly there often has to be just to make it through a day without having all of your energy sucked out of you. There wasn't a day where he didn't show up on set with coffee or donuts or extra vitamin C packets for people. He was always providing for people in a very nice way. One of the things that I enjoyed about him as an artist — but also now as someone who I know — is that he really doesn't take himself, or any of it, too seriously. When you're someone in his position, that's hard.
As an actor, I really wasn't surprised that he was so natural. One of the biggest performers in the world would be a great performer. He was so collaborative and open and fun to watch and play with. If you're used to performing live, there's nothing better than finding other people who enjoy spontaneity. In almost every scene that I was in with him, there's a found moment.
There's a moment the film where I back up, we're going in our car and I salute him and then give him the finger, and then he looks back at me and gives me the finger. The best thing you can do is find someone who wants to feel alive in a scene with you. Anyone who's watched him perform live has seen that. He feels very present, whether you're in a conversation with him or you're in a scene with him or you're watching him live on stage. It's why he's so f---ing charming — you feel like you're watching someone who is in the room with you at that moment.
He's somehow able to be an actor in two very different films, and while all of that has been going on, he has been on a world tour for a year and a half getting hit with Skittles. It's a weird thing to say, but he made me much cooler with my nieces and nephews (and many, many people) by very publicly kissing me at the Venice Film Festival. I want to rewrite the story where Prince Charming kisses a frog. I'm the frog, and I become a frog with a little crown on top. It was one of the most surreal moments in my life. That was not planned. We kiss in the first scene of Don't Worry Darling, but nobody had seen it, so it just appeared that Harry Styles had grabbed me for no reason and kissed me. No matter what I accomplish in my life, it will probably go somewhere in my obituary: "father, comedian, creator, and also someone kissed by Harry Styles." I gotta say, I ain't mad at it. That's his power.

what's the most fun you've had in (and around) minecraft?
That probably would be one of Truly Bedrock seasons.
I gotta admit, I am very weird about fun, like, to me video editing is fun, drawing is fun, CREATIVE WORK is fun. So getting to collaborate on something big and in-depth is always what I love most.
It's always hard work and it's always a headache, and it's not even that satisfying, because YT is giving us frankly dismal views. BUT the most fun to me is getting together with a group that likes making videos, and then making videos together. When everyone plays their role, and brings their A-game to the table. It's difficult, it's a lot of pressure, but it's great!

Congratulations to Ariel's Art Director Chrystin Garland for being featured in Animation Magazine's “Rising Stars of Animation 2024.
Garland biggest wish for the future include being showrunner on an original series that she developed.

I knew I wanted to have a career in animation when: I always knew that I loved drawing, but I didn’t necessarily make the connection that animation was something one could pursue as a career. I don’t think I ever really considered who was behind the cartoons I was so eager to watch after school or the amount of effort that went into making these series possible. Animation was simply a wonderful, magical thing that I enjoyed. My parents, ever invested in my education, signed me up for a series of college courses one summer that happened to include an introduction to traditional animation. That class completely changed my life.
First job in animation: Character designer on Niko and the Sword of Light.
What I love about my current project: I’ve always been a huge fan of stage plays and musicals that put their own unique spin on the source material. I am incredibly grateful that our talented crew, led by the incomparable Lynne Southerland, has an opportunity to do the same with another beloved classic. Seeing all the amazing things our creative team brings to the table week after week is truly a highlight! It feels like everyone is doing their best to make something wonderful, and that’s exciting.
Biggest challenge: Waiting for the series to premiere!
Favorite animated movie or TV show growing up: I was absolutely obsessed with Sailor Moon as a child and still am a huge fan to this day. I remember having to wake up super early in the morning to catch it on TV, since this was pre-Toonami. Probably the earliest and most consistently I’ve woken up by choice.
Animation role model: I consider Everett Downing Jr. to have been my unofficial mentor throughout the course of my career. I really admire his storytelling and sense of collaboration among creatives that he brings to all his projects.
Best advice: Everyone’s path breaking into and navigating the animation industry is going to be different. If working in this field is truly your dream, continue to push forward and hone your skills whenever you can. It can also be beneficial to stay open to opportunities that don’t align perfectly with your established goal. You never know where those experiences may lead you.
Future plans: To be a showrunner on an original series that I developed. That would be a dream come true!

The next little gift is a deleted segment between Glaishur, Hornacle, and Loodvigg. This was a short vent I wrote out after I silly little incident with my step dad. This was set somewhere between parts 3 and 4, I believe. My partner actually made art referencing this writing a while ago, which will be presented at the end :>
Glaishur and Hornacle were the last monsters awake. Hornacle was always the hardest to get to bed. Apart from Galvana, that is. It wasn't that he was stubborn - he never threw fits. He was just hard to catch.
Luckily, the water monster was easy to bargain with. He didn't want any kind of sweets or special gifts; he just wanted to share his love of drawing and doodles with someone. Glaishur was happy to fill this role, having set up the table prior to the castles usual resting time with the little monster by his side to assure he didn't forget anything.
The many little monsters have since gone to be, so it seemed to just be the two of them. Glaishur took his seat at the end of the table with Hornacle sitting to his right, each scribbling up a page and offering the other compliments on their artistic renditions of the world around them. Hornacle began making the outlines of certain objects or scenes, then passing the paper to the cold monster beside them to finish the pice with colors or new additions. It went from a simple collaborative piece to a sort of game, challenging the other monster to finish as many drawings as possible before they just couldn't keep up.
"You're gonna make me break my fingers!" Glaishur joked. Although his fingers were very much intact, the same couldn't be said for the crumbled wax crayons around him. He wasn't all too sure where these crayons came from or how they were made, but the quality was questionable.
Hornacle laughed his little head off, seeming to have achieved their goal of nightly chaos. Glaishur was quick to hush him, reminding of the sleeping monsters.
"How 'bout we do a couple more than head off t' snooze, yeah?"
The deal was made. A few more sheets of recycled paper were found and drawn on, each monster making their final works of the night their best. Glaishur found himself lost in the possibilities of creation. He had many ideas, and it was hard to choose just one for the night. He finally began to sketch out his plan; a portrait of Hornacle. To the best of his abilities, that is. He had become so lost in the process that he didn't notice the creaking of the stairs. He didn't hear the tapping approaching the table.
"Having fun?" A cool voice spoke.
Glaishur felt his fur stand the second he heard it. He faced forward, unwilling to let his eyes make contact with the shadowy monster nearby. Poor Hornacle could only keep their head down.
"Yeah," the cold monster answered shakily.
"I couldn't help but notice that the dishes have been left undone. Or how the kitchen remains a mess."
Loodvigg circled the table, lifting one of the many drawings that had been completed not long ago.
"You seem to have plenty of time on your hands."
"I.. I forgot," Glaishur stuttered. "I can do them after-"
"You didn't forget," Loodvigg spat, tossing the paper aside, "you chose not to! You're the only monster in this castle who is just incapable of finishing the most simplistic tasks. Do you just not care for the well-being of everyone else, or do you find amusement in dropping your responsibilities on everyone else?"
"I forgot-"
"You did not!"
Hornacle hopped from the table, running out of the kitchen and down the hallway. The sound of their bedroom door slamming shut seemed to be enough to alert another monster. Soon, Glaishur was no longer alone with Loodvigg, now assisted by Furnoss.
"That's enough," the fire elementalist would say. "I don't need you to defend me."
"You never put your foot down," Loodvigg would respond. "You let him get away with this, who knows what else he'd do?"
"He just forgot, Lood. Galvana forgets all the time!"
All of their arguing, right next to Glaishur as if he weren't there. He certainly didn't like himself being compared to a toddler, even less so with them being the troublemaker. Furnoss soon dragged Loodvigg back up the stairs, leaving the kitchen in silence. Now, on his own, the cold monster stood up to do the same task he would have done with nothing more than a simple reminder.
During his chore, he reunited with Hornacle. The little monster displayed their final art piece of the night.

Lukanette Big Bang FAQ!
Q: What’s a big bang event?
A big bang event is one designed for fandom, where during the course of the event, writers write a fic and are accompanied by an artist that draws art for the fic. This is a collaborative effort, designed to help bring users together to make something fun!
Q: What’s the Lukanette Big Bang event?
This event is just like the Miraculous Big Bang, which is held every year, where the goal is to write 10,000 words in the span of six months. However, the focus will be entirely on Lukanette! This means that Lukanette will be the end goal of the event, not any other ship for either of them. So long as the endgame is Luka Couffaine / Marinette Dupain-Cheng or a gen Luka Couffaine & Marinette Dupain-Cheng, other pairings are allowed in. The set amount of words required for the fic written will be decided in the Interest Check.
Q: What content is not allowed in?
The fic must end with Luka Couffaine / Marinette Dupain-Cheng. If you are writing a gen fic, it must end with Luka Couffaine & Marinette Dupain-Cheng. This event is focused on them two as a relationship, so it wouldn’t be allowed to put another ship as the main pairing. Everything else is fair game, but be warned: if your fic has elements to it that have any of the AO3 Archive Warning tags (Extreme Violence, Underage,...) you will have to specify that in your first check in.
Q: Is there a Discord server? When can I join the Discord server?
Yes, there is a Discord server! You will be able to join the server after you have submitted your application form, and have received an approval email saying that you’ve been invited into the server. The email will have a link for you to join.
Q: I’m new to writing/artwork/beta reading, but I still want to apply. Is that okay?
Absolutely! There is no minimum requirement for the application process. Try it out!
Q: When can I start working on my fic? Do I have to wait until I join the server to start out on my fics?
You can start writing even before being admitted into the discord server! Just make sure that whatever you’re working on, you don’t post it onto AO3, or any other fic website, until the event is over.
Q: Do I have to post my fic in English?
Yes, please. This is an English event!
Q: Where can I apply?
Application links will be posted on this blog in February, for all three roles (Writer, Artist, Beta Reader). Each application will ask a few questions.
Q: What do I need to participate?
You’ll need an email address, a Discord user and if you’re applying as a writer, an AO3 account.
Q: Can I write NSFW works?
Absolutely! Please be aware that we only allow users who are 18+ to write NSFW in our event.
Q: Who is allowed to work on an NSFW fic?
For this event, you are only allowed to work on an NSFW fic if you are older than 18. This goes by the honour system; if we find out that you’ve lied about your age in order to do this, you will be banned from the project and from the server. No exceptions. We want to keep this event as safe as possible, both for minors and for adults.
Q: How do claims work?
There will be a project proposal within the event where writers will have to ultimately decide what they will be doing for the rest of the creation period. In that project proposal, writers will be asked to provide 2k words of their story, and this will be what artists see. All project proposals will be anonymous, to guarantee that there is no bias when an artist picks on what project to work on. As artists, they will have the option to list the fics they want and do not want. The moderators will walk writers through this, so that there is no confusion.
Q: If I apply and get accepted as a writer, is getting art for my fic guaranteed?
Not necessarily. We will do our best to get everyone a pair, but it is possible that a writer may go without an artist.
Q: How do check-ins work?
There will be a google form posted in the Discord one week before it is due. These check-ins are beneficial to moderators to see how progress is going, and if there is a problem we can facilitate. Questions about your progress, about your expected finished word count, and if you’re having issues with your partners, will be in the check-ins.
Q: Am I allowed to post my fics onto other platforms other than AO3?
Yes! Make sure that your fic is on AO3 as well, as this is an AO3-centered event. Please make sure that, if you have an artist working with you, they’re okay with you posting your work on another platform.
