"The Parting of the Ways" thoughts

[BASS BOOSTED] AND SO WAS I!!!

and thus we say goodbye to our friend and lover, christopher eccleston, never to return. i'll write a longer separate season retrospective but suffice to say i'll miss him dearly and wish we had more time with him. i'd trade all of seasons 2 and 9 for a few more stories with eccleston

so this is like, iconic doctor who material. not as flashy as i remembered, mostly tense, lying in wait for salvation that might never be coming (and never will). i totally forgot about the god-emperor and for some reason remembered this being davros (i forgot a lot about this story. i might be stupid.) watching this finale reminded me of watching s10 when it aired and thinking "fucking capaldi, strutting his stuff and flexing just when he's on his way out" like fucking eccleston. flexing hardcore JUST in his last ever story. he was amazing all season but "doesn't it just burn when you face me" god he's manic

the god-emperor gathering "the prisoners, the refugees, the dispossessed" for centuries to "pulp and sift" their bodies is like, profoundly disturbing and fascinating as a concept. one cell in a billion worth anything. i would love to know what that looked like. did they convert people, or steal them? murder them and use their meat, or torture them? it's serial killer logic, take the people who won't be missed. i would read a novel about that, idk if any have been written. they blow past that line pretty quick (and we get more dalek-human hybrid stuff later in the show) but wow what a concept. my favorite thing in any story is the "underdeveloped concept" i will pick at it like a loose sweater thread until everyone around me is exhausted by me. dalek jack the rippers out here

when they head back into the tardis all swagged up and nine just leans his head against the door as soon as it closes while "exterminate" echoes outside, you can feel him flashing back to the war. such a good little soldier

kissy kissy. i somehow forgot jack kisses both of them, we love a bisexual king

do we want to take bets on when this message to rose was recorded? i personally think after "world war 3" when the doctor was really FORCED to come to terms with knowing he might be the reason rose dies, and how jackie would never forgive him. i think "emergency program one" and the idea of saving the tardis from the wrong hands is a fairly recent thing, watsonian-wise. it sounds like a post-time war thing, bc there are no more laws, no safety net

"that's the decision i have to make for every living thing" god you can tell it just WEIGHS on him. this is such an atlas story, rose is the herakles trying to carry the weight for him except here he comes back and takes the world back himself without being tricked. god

"have you tried that new pizza place on minto st" "what are they selling" "pizza" mickey and jackie are so funny i want to throw up and die. this scene made my boyfriend say out loud "rose is a bad person when it comes to mickey huh" like yeah. yeah. i like rose a lot but wow poor mickey. "there's nothing left for me here" "nothing?" "no." cold as ice

i forgot that rose tells jackie about meeting pete. great reactions from both of them, great moment. jackie showing up in the big ass truck reminds me of barbara in "the daleks" idk if that was intentional but i choose to believe, jackie gets a lot of barbara energy to me

rose kind of does to the tardis what she did to the dalek, she's just... infectious. she insists on being in the world and being a part of it, to the point of corruption. it's very doctor-lite, it's a more understated version of the arc they try to give clara later. i like it a lot, she becomes part of the story in a very literal way, more so that (i think) any companion had been up until that point. new who companions are under different rules and expectations. that's why we'll probably never get a future/alien/historical companion again except as part-timers. kind of a bummer in that sense

"i want to see you become like me" babygirl he already is. you're both each other, hanging on past the point of extinction, damaged and destroyed and monstrous. the difference is that he has friends and you have subjects. you became a god and he became a coward

"coward, any day" is a great line but also like. he MEANS that shit. this isn't just the doctor risking his own life– sacrificing himself– it's him sacrificing EVERYTHING. EVERYONE. he can't pull the lever, he can't beat the trolley problem. the daleks WILL kill everything in existence, but HE CAN'T PULL THE TRIGGER. he's a soldier, he will die in battle. he should have died already so he's ready to die now, he sacrificed EVERYTHING if it meant destroying the daleks, and he failed, and he's ready to go. he's not dying to stop them, he's dying so that he doesn't have to see what they're going to do. it's profoundly sad, profoundly selfish, and i'm not saying i blame him but i don't think we ever really see him make this kind of choice again. there's always another way out, they stop the bomb from exploding at the last second time and time again, but i don't think we ever see him just... give up like this again. it's such a uniquely NINE thing to do, it fascinates me. incredible moment, i want to inject it into my veins

and then of course we get the famous bad wolf. welcome back to the world jack. kiss kiss i've been WAITING for them to do this ALL SEASON– brief primer on regeneration and we get his last words. "so was i." finally after 13 episodes of prickly secrecy, self-loathing to the point of rage, he can admit "i did something right, i did my best, i did good" and he's earned it. you were absolutely fantastic, nine

My Rules and About Me

Age: 32, soon to be 33.

I've been rping on and off for about twenty years I believe, I got the One piece bug after going through my old rp blog and missing my gurl boss Seda. I have adhd and a not so busy but really full list of things I should be doing most days so I may dip in and out of here when I have free time.

When it comes to rping, the key to me is fun. If I'm not having fun I'm not doing it. So that being said, I don't make overly flashy/stylized posts. Graphics design is not my passion and so I don't find any of that stuff fun for me to do personally. Same with making a Carrd or any of that. Everything you need to find about me and my gurl will be on this blog and tagged accordingly. If you are looking for something in particular let me know and I'll gladly tell you. I have maybe 4 spoons on a good day and I'm not using up my good spoons doing something I dislike when I could be doing something I enjoy.

If you need a post formatted a certain way, let me know, otherwise you are getting it raw, baby!

Just don’t ask for the text to be too small. I have dog water eyesight so I still have to make it accessible for myself.

I yam an artist tho so I'll be more inclined to include art with any post about Seda I make because I'm a visual learner. And sometimes, a quick image gets the job done.

Da Rules

1. The basics: Mun =/= Muse, Don't tell me what my character is doing, don't get overly shippy without us talking about it out of character.

2. Don't be a dick. If you are flinging around isms and phobias, then I will unfollow and drop any threads we are having. If it's something that can be talked about cause it's a misunderstanding then we're cool. But if it's a "Actually, I don't think brown people should have rights." You can fuck right off with that. I'm a black bisexual trans person, so anything that goes against my fundamental human right to exist is conversation ending.

3. Both mun and muse are in their 30s and so, if there IS any shipping, let's keep it gucci with someone close to her age range or older. And I'd like to rp with people over 18. If you are younger, I'm going to ignore you. Sorry.

4. I do adore shipping, but I'm not hungering for it if there is no connection. Same with friendships. If it doesn't feel right, let's not force it. Seda is more than willing to talk with someone she loathes and I think that's a fun dynamic to rp out. Duplicates of anything are just fine with me. In her old form, Seda was bffs with at least three different luffys and she loved them all to bits.

5. There will be talk of sensitive subject matter as is the nature of One Piece, but anything truly nsfw will be put under a read more or moved to private discussions.

6. Speaking of nsfw, I have a pathological inability to write nsfw rps in public, so very likely, anything saucy will go fade to black. I will likely draw it though, just, having to put a mirror to myself and then telling everyone "Hey y'all, look at this vulnerable display of passion and lust that I'm writing with my own two human hands with another person!" fills me with dread.

7. Because I have adhd and the brain of slug sometimes, I make spelling mistakes. I try and catch them but I'm sure there are at least 5 in this post alone. It's just gonna have to be something you accept. No matter what I do, I don't see the mistakes.

8. My main focus is on One Piece characters but I'll rp with characters from other fandoms or just fandomless ones.

9. Anything about Seda is subject to change because that's the nature of life baby. She's had a lot of play testing from my blog ten years ago so this version of her is the stable 2.0 edition, but if I see something I like or decide a piece isn't meshing right, I reserve the right to change it. (Just as we can change anything about ourselves, yada yada)

10. And number 10, don't be a dick x2. I truly am just here for a good time and to play around in this little sandbox we call Tumblr Rping. When it stops being fun for me, I'll stop. But until then:

🎈 Happy birthday to us! 🎈

In other words, it's our 6 year anniversary. While I don't have flashy new art, I have something that will hopefully make up for that. Several things, actually!

Site Update

Overall, the blog/website should be more accessible to newcomers and easier to navigate in general. Your feedback has been great and I've done my best to implement most of it. The biggest addition of that nature is the Beginner's Guide to Ask the Famous 8. This is a combination of FAQ, general information, and links to additional websites. It also covers whether the series is suitable for children, since I've had at least one for-sure instance where a guardian has reached out to me in lieu of their child. Even if you're an AtF8 veteran, do give it a read.

Easy sorting: Letters • Art • All Posts

I thought I'd add some common tags to the front page so you don't have to dig to find art or character responses. My hope is that this will make navigating easier for newcomers, and more convenient for long-time fans.

Cosmetic Changes

The color theme has been adjusted to be slightly lighter. The banner's font has been changed to be more legible. The old font was taken directly from the official Thomas & Friends website, but it wasn't the easiest to read, so I think this is for the best. The stamps on the banner no longer link anywhere and are faded so as not to draw too much attention. I've added the description nest to the official T&F logo to make the site easier to consume. Now it's very clear what this is right from the front page. I think it adds a nice professional touch, too.

Percy's icon has been changed and is no longer animated. He also no longer links to a page. Trust me, this is for the best, the old one didn't fit the style of the site anymore. Maybe one day I'll make this one animated as well... 🤔

The little copyright tag is brighter so you know who's running the show.

Guest Artist Program

The guest artist program has returned! You can apply here https://forms.gle/kgKLr2bURX6XSv977. Before the hiatus ends, I'll be reviewing these in the meantime. Once the hiatus is over I'll start reaching out to people. To start off I'm aiming for one guest a month, but if we have enough applicants and I can stay on top of things, this might increase. I'm going to be implementing some new experimental features, hence why I'd like to take things slow rather than dive head in.

February 1, 2022

I finally have some trips back home lined up for this month and December and I'd like to enjoy those without worrying about this series. When I get back I'll need to start seriously looking for jobs, but also my current visa expires in January and I really gotta get that sorted. However, that doesn't mean I won't be drawing anything! It's more that I want to continue improving non-ask aspects of this series before I resume them since asks take up most of the time I spend here. But if you want to see new content ahead of the curve, you can join my Patreon when it goes live- hopefully by the end of the year.

This is my first series so please cut me some slack but also I welcome constructive criticisms! This is in Korean so for those of you who can read Korean and English, go ahead! I will post a full English version link to the Wattpad story in the masterlist!

Pairing: baekhyun x reader, sehun x suah

Genre: kpop group collaboration!AU

Word Count: 1261 words

Description: Today is the day where they start the process of creating the album book by taking photos! Oh, and it's Suah's birthday...

Disclaimer: I have no idea how any of this works. I’m just going off of the little info I DO know so please bear with me as I try to fill the chapters with what I think (or what I just make up) on how to make an album and the other kpop things.

Masterlist

"Yes! Look at each other now! Yes! I like that! Look at the camera!" The photographer directs us as we model for the album. Right now it's me and Dayeon posing because we have to put in pictures by couples. Our theme is red and white so I'm wearing white onesie and red wired glasses. Dayeon is wearing a red flowy dress and has extra blush. The set has one red and one white couch and blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals that match our theme. This is more of a cute shoot and like a chill, cute scene between a couple or friends. Pose after pose after pose, we continue to smile and laugh while hearing the clicks of the camera. "Do a heart! Yes! 좋아! You're doing good! Look at each other! Uh-huh! Smile! Baekhyun, look at the camera! Dayeon, lean on Baekhyun! Pose with the stuffed animal! Wrap the blanket around you! Yes! Cute! Okay good." He looks at the pictures. "Okay, thank you, go change your outfits and Sehun, Suah, you're next!" Sehun and Suah walk up to the set and starts posing. I walk over to the the clothes rack and put on the second outfit. I can hear the photographer directing the photoshoot for the others.

"현아... 현아." 다연 whispers to me as we wait for the staff to switch the set.

"응?"

"오늘은 수아 생일 이다. We're gonna make a surprise party for her at the dorm and Sehun's gonna distract her." I nod.

"Baekhyun and Dayeon? You're next." This next set was more flashy with a large Christmas tree and I was wearing a red suit (like how Kai was wearing in "Love Shot") and Dayeon was wearing an office outfit that was white but it was more like a mini skirt and the blazer was cropped. There was a fancy couch in front of the tree and a huge white teddy bear with a red bow.

"Wait, is this another cute shoot? I thought manager 오빠 said it was more sexy and classy?" Dayeon asks.

"It IS a classy shoot."

"Then why the teddy bear?" She points to the large teddy bear.

"It's a prop!" She just sighs and gets on the couch. I follow her. She lies across the couch stretching her legs and stares at the camera with a fierce look. I take the big bear and put it next to the couch and sit at the edge of the couch leaning my arms on knees. "She's right... that bear doesn't fit..." the staff takes the bear and the photographer starts taking pictures. We take poses on the couch, around the couch, behind the couch, we even took away the couch to take some pictures with just the Christmas tree. We finished the shoot and moved on to the last shoot of the day. This time, it was a more game-like scene with a very bright scene near a window and a white bed with some fluffy blankets and pillows. Although it was a twin bed, we still somehow both fit on it without breaking it. We covered ourselves with the pillows and had pillow fights. After finishing the shoot, we rushed to the dorm.

"현아, can you fill the balloons?" Dayeon hands me a helium tank and a bag of pink heart balloons. Dayeon went to change the pillows to a bright pink and laying out the food. She puts the presents out. "현아, did you fill the balloons?" She saw the pile of unfilled balloons and how I was struggling with the helium machine.

"Ughhh, I have to do everything." She laughs at my confusion and starts filling up the balloons. "Just... tie the strings to the ends." I pout put still tie the ribbon to the ends of the balloons. The others come and start getting the rest of the dorm ready. Sehun calls Dayeon and she asks me to do the balloons.

"Huh? Please... just gooooo. We aren't ready yet. I'll get you bubble tea after. Pleaseeee... okay, 2 of them. I'll buy you hanu too. (Hanu is expensive beef) Sehun... it's for her birthday, like say it's her present. 세훈앙~~~~ 제발 좀. 고마워 세훈아!" She hangs up. "We have 1 more hour, Sehun saved us, we just have to buy him a lot of bubble tea after." She smiles brightly. For some reason, I felt slightly jealous that she smiled for Sehun... no, not jealous, erm... annoyed, yeah annoyed! *POP!* "현아! Pay attention!" I look down to see a popped balloon and bits of pink balloon everywhere.

"Hah. 미안..." I try to continue to fill the balloons up but I was still... annoyed. I swallow some helium and try to make Dayeon laugh. "다연아~~~" I say in a high pitched voice.

"Why is your voice so weird?" She says without looking up from the table settings.

"I swallowed helium." I giggle.

"Well that helium is making you high... go, do something." She says. I feel disappointed that she didn't smile or laugh.

"Awww... 내 목소리가 안 웃겨?"

"웃기지. 웃기지만 지금 바빠." She still doesn't move. I walk away but not defeated. I fill up the balloons quickly and walk up to Dayeon and start blowing in her ear. "야! 현아! 그만해!" She starts swatting the air around her ear.

"Rest a little bit, we literally have 9 other people setting up, just rest a little."

"Fine." She sighs and plops herself onto the couch. "Wait, I need to take the cake out of my fridge." She starts to get up. I put my arm out and push her back on the couch.

"REST! There's 9 people." Sunny passes by. "Sunny야! Go take the cake out of the refrigerator."

"I didn't-" she starts again. I put my finger to her lips.

"Rest, for the last time... you said Sehun would stall Suah for another hour right?" she sighs.

"I just feel bad that everyone's doing work and I'm just here... sitting."

"Then you don't need to just sit, watch TV then." I grab the remote and turn on the TV. Soon, everyone else starts watching.

"Dayeon 언니, we finished setting up-"

"누나! 누나! 수아가 온다!" 세훈 runs into the room. I jump up and 다연 turns off the TV.

"Hide!" We quickly hide behind things and 세훈 turns off the light.

"세훈이오빵!" We hear 수아's faint voice.

"Where did she learn that?" 다연 thought out loud.

"어?" 세훈 asked flustered but trying to play cool.

"이 선물을 주셔서 고마워."

"어? 어... it's no problem."

"Why aren't we going inside?" She says innocently.

"들어간다!" 세훈 announces. I facepalm at how obvious he is.

"Why are you announcing-" she says as she opens the door.

"Surprise!" Some people throw confetti at her, some blow on the party noise thing that rolls up after you blow out.

"Ah! Awwww... 고마워 오빠들이랑 언나들!" She smiles. "Is that why you were acting so weird?" She turns to 세훈. He rubs the back of his neck.

"Uhhh... cake!" He points at the cake to change the subject.

"Oh! 그 케이크는 너무 예뻐! No one move." She pulls out her phone and takes some pictures. "okay, you can move now. Awww! So pretty! Where'd you get it?"

"The bakery down the street."

"오 진짜? 거기서 가야징." She says as takes a bit of the icing on her finger and tastes it. "아~~~ 맛있다! 고마워 다들, 진짜, this is the best birthday ever."
