Not the oddest guest but definitely a surprising one

#yeah that's a starling in my basement #i heard my mom scream because it 'came at her' lol #mom begged dad to let it stay tonight because it's subzero and windy outside and he relented despite his inner nature conservative #like I know it should be put down too but i don't have the heart to do it and i was ok with it staying the night #but mom asked me if i could offer it food because it's super dazed and weak so i said ok #and yeah just fed it some crickets for my gecko with my tongs #it was pretty hungry once it realized i wasn't trying to kill it lol #it's still down in the laundry room but mom's happy and dad's softened up to letting it stay lol #i wasn't gonna really do much with it since i thought it was just chilling out but i was open to feeding it when i saw how exhausted it was #yes it's bad to feed wild animals but this is a circumstance where i think it's acceptable #it's not being treated like a pet we're leaving it alone and going to release it in the morning when the storm clears #dad thinks it was in a box he took downstairs last night because the door was open #only way it could've gotten in basically #and yeah that's my mom texting me lol #but yeah it's a cute moment just this is a special circumstance of interacting with a wild animal like this #yeah im a nature nerd about this stuff like my dad but dif is I'm too pussy to kill an animal even if it's invasive #I'm rambling lol #anyways mom named him Nickolas and I named him Larry so whichever name you like i guess #rosebud posting 💐

I’d love to hear about the high school teachers AU!

This one holds such a special place in my heart, but there's not much of it lol, just me like fantasizing about it and just never writing it down other than bits and pieces.

So, basically, the premise is that Steve is a history teacher and Jack Thompson gets promoted to vice principal of the school so they have a new history teacher slot of fill and Peggy is the new teacher, much to his surprise bc Steve is expecting someone older and just like Jack (an asshole, bc that's what the school has been hiring as of late) but Peggy is taking over and she's making a set of new classes on street law and politics classes.

So Peggy gets Jack's old room which is right across the hall and they meet each other in the summer and hit it off and once they start school they just become friends, but mostly through leaving notes and covering each others classes before they're even REALLY friends.

There's some of it under the cut--it's SUPER unedited and kind of not fleshed out, but it's cute.

It starts out as just friendly smiles and conversations about students they have in common. They share smiles across the hall in between classes. Eventually, though, it turns into a bit of a friendship. 

The first time he realizes they’re friends is when he has to take a personal day to take his mom to the doctors. He leaves detailed notes about what documentary to show and the guided notes they need to follow, and how it will tie into the other things he has planned for the rest of the week. 

When he comes back, his desk is set up nicely, all the papers in the right place and the sub notes are there too for him to read over. 

He figures out in reading the sub notes that Peggy had his last class of the day during seventh period, so she must have put everything in its correct places. Her notes are more detailed than any of the other people who covered his class, and there’s a note at the end from her that says she hopes everything is alright. 

He thanks her with a coffee the next day which she accepts with a smile. “Of course,” she says. 

He gets a chance to repay the favor when she takes two personal days the next month. He gets assigned her last class both days she’s out. He makes sure everything is put in the right place, and gives her detailed notes about her classes too. He even makes sure that her classes get covered too, which isn’t something he normally does, but he likes her. 

When Peggy gets in Monday morning after taking Thursday and Friday as personal days, she’s surprised to find her room in one piece. She’d gotten in an hour early to survey the damage, but there hadn’t been anything out of place. 

She checks the sub reports to see Steve’s familiar handwriting in the bottom two slots. There’s a note at the bottom of the second day on a post-it that almost makes her cry. “Missed seeing you across the hall, hope everything’s alright. —SR” 

She’s sitting at her desk when she sees him unlock his door Monday morning. She waits until he props his door open before bringing him over a mug full of fresh coffee for his trouble, and his nice note. 

“You didn’t have to do that,” Steve said, still taking the coffee gratefully. 

She shrugs, and gives him a watery smile. “You did the same for me.”

They have a bit of an unspoken system after that. When one or the other is out, they always get assigned the last periods of each other’s classes, so they leave notes and make sure everything is in order for the other person when they’re gone. They have lunch together more often than not, and they’re friends.

Anyway, I just love when they're soft together in little worlds like this... and of course I was thinking of like them trying to make the school a better place and having a beautiful cast of students and teachers, but it hasn't been that fleshed out yet.

One of the funniest pieces of internet-drama-starting knowledge I have is that Lunime, creator of Gacha Club, Gacha Life, Gacha Life 2, etc., put a pole dancing pole in one of the earliest games.

Now, this would largely be a non-issue, except that he got really mad when people started making sexual stuff with the games, because they had assumed that since he had included what is largely considered to be something sexual (a pole for pole dancing and various poses to go with it, which are largely associated with strippers), he was okay with it. Which is a fair assumption! At the time, and even largely today, pole dancing is associated with clubs and strippers! But he chose to ignore that and got mad when people started doing stuff with it.

I mean, even in Gacha Club there were some lines in character profiles that implied one character was yandere for her sister that were then omitted in Gacha Life 2. At least we have full color control again, though.

not willingly, but my parents would always put on this one cd of a whole bunch of christian praise music every long car ride to church. it was played so often that i could probably sing along today and still know 90% of the lyrics.

basically my childhood was a lot of christian music lol.

as for by choice, i don't entirely remember. maybe michael jackson? and not on CDs but i also listened to a lot of classical music as a kid because of playing the piano.
