I think Shuro was aware Falin didn’t feel the same way. But she helped him vocalize his feelings for the first time, and so he wanted to offer the same courtesy. Let her answer him herself, when she was ready. That’s why he waited for her. I’m guessing their final discussion on this WAS when they both felt like talking about it. And if not, it’s because enough time has passed plus they were running out of time (Shuro leaving). In the end, he wasn’t surprised at the rejection, just, satisfied at its natural conclusion. They can both step away from this as individuals who chose their own path.

And through the story, ofc he still hopes! It’d be weirder if he didn’t. But like, when the response to a proposal is “I need time to think,” the answer is obviously “I don’t feel the same way,” whether she accepted or not. Part of the hope could be naivety, but I think he was readying himself for whatever answer she gave. A+ btw for handling the rejection with such grace. And for Falin who was so gentle, and have given her future some thought. Neither are as passive as they used to be. They both grew so much.

Side tangent, Shuro likely sees him and Falin as very similar people, both with issues telling people no, both struggling to become their own person. And she was weird too! (in the bug liking way)! He was always too scared to express himself. He probably looked up to her a lot as the kind of person he would like to be. That’s probably why he fell in love, but more importantly, I think that’s why he had faith that Falin would get back to him about the proposal. She needed time to think, but he knew she could come through and vocalize her thoughts. He learned from her, after all.

since I've not seen usamerican used to be antiblack (at least as far as I'm aware!) I'm wondering if there's any way to spot it. or I guess wondering how to tell the difference between people using it "normally" and people using it to target black Americans. I'm VERY ready to believe people are doing that, I just have very little exposure to the term and I'm not from the States so I'm mostly trying to make sure it's something I can keep an eye out for and call out/block users if I encounter it

that's a good question. i wish i could find a post to illustrate it in action but usually usamerican is being used as a front for antiblackness when the person in question is complaining abt the visibility of issues. for example. let's say there's an awful tragedy involving police killing someone in france. well the person will say something like 'god ik usamericans won't reblog this bc they only care abt THEIR issues. they don't support anyone else theyre so selfish and oppress all of us' and its like ok. we're talking abt police brutality. which group of americans in the us are affected by that? black americans. so implying that black ppl only care abt themselves while conflating black americans being victims of imperialism (being killed in the streets) with being oppressors just bc they were forcibly brought into a imperialist nation

basically when you see someone complain abt usamericans in a sociopolitical context give it a once over that theyre not trying to blame black americans and other racial minorities in america for things they are victims of themselves. if its a funny post abt how usamericans will drive 4 hrs and think thats nothing? no problem. saying usamericans need to shut up and stop whining abt how bad their country is bc they ruined other places is a cause for concern bc the ppl who are complaining in america.....are victims OF america as well (and in terms of blackness would have a lesser quality of life ANYWHERE bc of, you know, antiblackness)

So. Fatebreaker, right? Ryne's biggest fears made manifest, daddy issues personified, yes?

He's an amalgamation of Thancred and Ran'jit, his face, his voice and his weapon is Thancred's, but his body, his fighting style and his words are Ran'jit's.

Throughout the fight Fatebreaker constantly makes comments about how only he can protect Ryne, only he can provide for her, only he has even the right to so much as stand beside her, to be in her general presence. He's possessive and obsessive, repeatedly asserting that she is HIS and his only. Which is exactly what Ran'jit says basically every time we encounter him.

But this time it's in Thancred's voice. This time it's with the voice and face of a man she actually cares about.

Ryne isn't scared of Thancred, she never has been. Even when she first met him she was barely even nervous (as clearly shown in Thancred's short story). There's a lot of different feelings happening between those two, but fear has never been one of them.

But now, after things have gotten so much better, she is scared of Thancred becoming like Ran'jit. Because if Thancred was just a little further gone, if he was just a little less compassionate, he would've. It wouldn't be hard for him to go down the same path as Ran'jit did, to be incapable of letting go of the ghost of that girl he loved so so much to the point he'd stubbornly grip anything close to her he could. He didn't, but the fact he could've is terrifying.

It makes his final words, words that are Thancred's, so very important. This is her deepest fears made manifest, but he still says he wants her to be happy. Her happiness not only matters, but is important to him.

About 100 employees were laid off in total (8%) and one of the main reasons listed is "underperformance," "sharp drop in popularity" and "poor reception of Lightfall."

So you know when for the last year and a half content creators have been shitting and pissing on the game as a full-time job and the amount of negativity and ragebait content became the only thing to make content about for them? Well they certainly won't take the blame, but I will let it be known. These people either don't understand the influence they have or they do and they're doing it on purpose, and I don't know which of these two options is worse, but I am 100% confident that their campaign of rage and hate contributed to this.

You don't base your entire community around constantly hating everything about the only game you play (despite clearly not enjoying it anymore) and somehow avoid galvanising thousands and thousands of people into perceiving the game negatively. Imagine being employees who have barely worked there for 2 years and the only community reception they've seen is 24/7 hate train for their work and then they get fired because of "poor reception" and "drop in popularity." How can they not take that personally? I am absolutely devastated for these people who delievered a banger product and who were met with an unrelenting barrage of toxic gamer children which ended up having more sway over their boss than them.

Which brings me to the next bit and that's FUCK THE CEO. He is now my mortal enemy #1. I am projecting psychic blasts directly into his brain. What an absolute spineless coward who is more willing to bow down to fucking gamers than to protect his own employees. This is absolutely rage inducing because this has happened before. From the article from 2021 about the toxic culture at Bungie:

No matter the situation Yosano will take her hands and wrap them around you - you're dating, so she can touch you as much as she wants in your book. Yosano gets embarrassed by cuddling. She loves it, but listen - she doesn't know how to cuddle without being all red in the face and giddy about it. Something i really like about yohaji is its distinction between relationships with peers amd relationships with superiors.

One thing i thought was kinda silly at the begining was that haruaki was always hanging out with his students lile during breaks and shit (felt most strongly when they get scolded for breaking a window while playimg baseball) and i reason well hes the main character of course hes hanging out with the principal cast and i would have been fine with that.

But no not only does tanaka-sensei provide a in character reason (haru had a terrible school life) they come at me with 'haruaki is jealous of people friends' and what i think is really interesting about that initial chapter is that typically it would end with an 'oohhh but they ARE you're friends' but no it ends with 'even if you didn't make friends as a child you can still make adult friends' with miki and izuna becoming his friends.

This is echoed in the arc where haruaki is a student WITH sano and with his students and he has so much fun but finally he says 'im not your friend im your teacher' the relationships you have with your teachers and adults and vice versa in your life arent without value but theyre not the same as ones you make with your peers and should not be treated as such

so one character got to learn how to live again, how to reenter society after traumatizing event that will forever impact his life, got to heal and rebuild his relationship with his family even estranged father, reconnected with his old friends and was able to create reliable support system of people that also grew throughout this healing process and now can understand him more and be there for him, got to graduate and start his own business and now can even give inspirational speeches to help others

and the other one had to leave two closest people to him that were his only support after his family death bc 'friends' he had before weren't type of people worth reconnecting with, move out of his country abandoning everything he knew his whole life just to * checks notes * start a job he didn't really want and the main reason he needed higher pay was to establish financial stability for one of two people who he had to leave and that no longer wanted to be with him

#last twilight #to clarify it's more about time skip and the talk at the end of part 2 bc yea ofc mhok also changed throughout whole series in general #the fact that 'growth' for mhok was equal to getting a job just doesn't sit well with me #his sister killed herself bc of their financial problems and then they put sole responsibility on him for providing for himself and day #and it felt like it was about more than just day's disability #like ironically his mechanic friend offered more support and understanding than most of the other characters #what kind of 'growth' is uprooting yourself and leaving everyone behind when you are still in vulnerable state and need someone to rely on #it would make sense in other story with other character but here it just hurts #i do have some other problems with the series as a whole but nothing that wasn't said already #everyone is angry at part 4 but end of part 2 was the breaking point for me #moving out for work is extremely lonely and alienating experience especially when it's not even to a country you particularly care about #what is the lesson here with mhok's plot line? #to completely isolate yourself to heal from your trauma somehow without anyone close to you? #and oh yea job being the most important thing for 'personal growth' actually? #in hotel in hawaii nonetheless... #i'm getting so tired of these series not being able to stick the landing fr

maybe this is just me being annoyed but whenever i try to talk abt my ocs here [which i very rarely do for this exact reason] it always gets zero engagement whatsoever. like i dont come here for Attention i come here for interaction which do kind of go hand in hand but. getting like 7 likes any time i pour my heart out about my guys is. disheartening. and it sucks because talking abt them is part of the way to get people to care! but i dont have the motivation for comics all the time [and when i do they dont get much attention either]. i feel like i should just stick to discord but im soo desprate to be heard and i feel like its hard to find The Right People to talk to
