Who's excited for the family gathering?
Transcript:
Marco: Petrah…why do I have to come to your family gathering?
Petrah: Hey! I was practically forced to come here, so I am making you too [all smug]
Marco: [sulks then fake smiles] But you are wasting my precious sleeping time.
Petrah: Honey [even faker smile] you'll get your precious beauty sleep once we're back.
[Casper toddles behind with no idea where they are going]
Petrah: We'll stay for a bit then leave secretly. Sound good to you?
[They arrive and are greeted by Connie, who we know has an estranged relationship with her twin]
Connie: Petrah. You actually made it, what a surprise to see you in person and not on the big screen.
Petrah: [clears throat] And it's nice to see you too…Connie. You've met Mar-
[Before Marco even has a chance to speak, Connie goes and picks up Casper from his arms]
Connie: Ahh my baby Caspeeeeeer! Look how big you are!
[Both look at then ignore Marco who just stands there. Casper giggles]
Noah: Welcome welcome! Wow I finally get to meet you two, come on in everyone's waiting!
Petrah: [in her head] God he's so loud. Ugh of course Connie knows someone like him [smiles and shakes his
hand pretending to make a good impression] Hi Noah! Oh yes, we meet at last! Can't wait to see Briar!

every time i think of system jason i think about. well first i think about how jason todd is a separate alter but jason todd is also the person because thats the name they own but the main host for like 20 years goes by jason and thats his name and. anyways. next i think about the ways he dissociates. but THEN i think about the littles/teens/even some adults that will only respond to robin or their name, and if they dont have a name, just robin, and maybe jason
sometimes its just a game of firing off names. some of them only respond to red hood, some of them respond to jason todd in full specifically, some of them respond to peter. theyre bad at names and in the early days its hard to figure out whos who (both in the system and out), too, so sometimes theyll just stare at whoevers talking to them with squinted eyes until they say a name they recognize as their own. some of them only respond to Specific Nicknames, some of them love people besides dick and bruce and alfred (and sometimes damian and tim and steph, but not duke, or...you get the picture) because they all love their family, even if they dont know them, but they dont Know Them. and some of them only respond to jaylad or jaybird or little bird, some of the older ones only respond to damian. its definitely a trial and error kind of thing. usually they can interact with everyone just fine, but some days they find jason in the kitchen and when tim tries to talk to him he looks away and creeps into a corner of the kitchen and they have to find dick and then bruce (bad choice) and then damian. its the trauma conversation but its also the memory conversation and the 'who are you to yourself and who do people know you as' conversation. i have a lot of thoughts abt jason w osdd/did (preferably did that sounds more like him) it does things to my brain. this post was supposed to be abt alters that respond to robin and then i just. kept talking. oops
oh my god the thought i just had. some of the littles dont know any of them and just hole themselves away in the library and everyones like 'ok has anyone seen jason he skittered off earlier and he looked fucking Scared we are Worried' but they learned early on that looking for him is a Bad Idea because hell get scared. so they just have to wait until jason texts one of them or smth like 'bad news weve got a new kid and they dont know any of you. good news we know what they respond to. bad news its a nickname from our mom most of us cant bear to hear. good news were getting them a name. bad news we cant leave the library yet. were alive though' and thats all they have to go off until he trudges out of the library three hours later asking what the hell happened because the little and a protector had a whole Convo then threw jason back in front to fend for himself
ok thats it this time i think. for real this time. anyways i have thoughts abt system jason if you have any queries please ask them i would love to talk abt him

I can't believe y'all almost made me pay to go watch po*r th*ngs in theater without telling me that the whole thing revolves around a hardcore born sexy yesterday trope with a side dish of pseudo necrophilia where a woman with the brain of a litteral foetus who don't have periods or body hair (but do have boobs!) find joy and freedom by having a lot of sex with a bunch of men, shoving a apple up her vagina for some reason and joining a brothel (but it's a cool socialist brothel and all the girls looove being there, don't worry guys), all of that written and directed by two men, I'm never gonna trust you guys after this one lmao

Here’s where I think we get how we talk about Taylor’s song inspirations (or what @namemarjorie has called Muse Politics) wrong: while early days I think they were probably a lot more literal, we also know that she’s been making up stories for songs since she was like 12 and that she’s incredibly skilled at writing GOOD songs, not just 100% historically accurate songs.
Back in 2010 I was at a Parachute concert and ended up chatting with a member of the band (not Will Anderson sadly, I may have passed away if it was) after he commented on my Speak Now shirt and asked about what songs Will had written about Taylor, and he said something that really stuck with me. Will, like most songwriters, takes inspiration from a lot of different places so *parts* of songs are about a person, and the whole song may be capturing the emotions felt with that person, but not very many songs are factually about one single person.
I think this absolutely is how Taylor writes. It’s diaristic, yes, but not in the way that every word and phrase can be mapped back to a real historical moment in time for her. There are, of course, real things that are public knowledge that she references in songs so we know they are grounded in fact, and probably a lot of private moments grounded in fact that we’ll never have confirmation of. But there are also metaphors and imagery and just things she spun up that sound nice and paint the emotional picture she’s trying to convey. She’s an artist, not a reporter. Dissecting every word to every song and then claiming ultimate knowledge of every relationship she’s had is a wasted exercise, and, in my opinion, missing the point of the art.

Heads up seven up
Tagged months ago by @autumnalwalker -- thank you! <3 Here's something I worked on recently...it's more than seven lines 😖
“Antonio told me I’d find you out here,” Paris said, stepping out on to the caboose’s deck and squinting at the receding track, his bangs ruffling in the sharp breeze.
Velia pulled her legs into her chest and thought about a speck of dust, the way it hid in a corner and blew off into the world without anyone paying it any mind. “Do you regularly go places and speak to absolutely nothing?”
“Yet here you are,” Paris said. “Which puts both him and I in the right.”
“Since when do you listen to a word that lunatic says?”
Paris’s mouth twitched. “Around the time you did, I’d say.”
“Which is never.”
“No,” he conceded. “Is there a spare bit of platform here?”
No pressure tags for anyone who sees this, and also @sleepyowlwrites @sparrow-orion-writes @thewriteflame @dogmomwrites @toribookworm22
and @magic-is-something-we-create <3
