Weekly Roundup: 18th - 25th Feb 2024

Okey Dokey, weekly roundup. Not done to much reading or writing this week. Turns out to many kids bday parties in February wears you the F out... So, I did manage to write 7,826 words this week, with 4 fics (one wip for the first time) upladed. This also includes my 100th Fic uploaded on A03 since last April so im pretty proud of that. Wild Wings - DomesticGoddess - The Hobbit (Bilbo/Thorin, As always everythign DG worites slaps so hard. This was my first ever wing fic read and i became obsessed its that good)

A Black-feathered Omen - birdkeeperklink (speculating) - The Hobbit (Bilbo/Thorin, another wing fic, and sad, loely Thorin who needs a hug, or a hobbit...)

Let The Waking Morning Find - sunryder - The Hobbit (Bilbo/Thorin, this is legit one of my fav Bagginshield fics ever, its clever and emotional and the thought of the One Ring gaining a body and becoming fixated on Bilob is spine chilling)

4)A heart of stone and Fire in his soul - Lucigoo89 - The Hobbit (Bilbo/Thorin, I listened to Ghost of a King by The Grey Havens and this was the result. The pinetree scee from Bilbo's pov, with BAMF Bilbo and hobbit magic)

I'm actually really proud of myself y'all!!!! I cleaned my depression room and I took a shower. I also did the dishes and exercised. I'm so exhausted but also really happy. My room has been stressing me out cause of how bad it was to the point where I hardly went in it and showers are so hard for me cause of medical reasons. But I did it!!!!

I've written 2100 words today. After not writing on TWFA for so long, it feels so good.

Snippet:

I shake my head. “I’m not the fighter! Xander and Aimee are the fighters in my life. I’m just the stitch fix. I’m not good at that close up shit.”

“What is the worst that could happen, Andy?”

Markuus asks, annoying me more than anything that Nelu has to say. “You cannot really be hurt that bad. Unless the other person has a weapon of some sort.”

“Fine. I am afraid of weapons then.” I quirk a challenging brow.

They both shake their heads.

“Will you try something else in that case?” Nelu asks.

I turn to Markuss, who suddenly looks terrified. He shakes his head slightly. This action immediately makes me want to say no.

“What?” I prompt.

“Crouch down to the ground,” he says. I follow his instructions while resisting another eyeroll. “Plant your hand in the snow.” I do. “Tell me what you feel.”

My eyes fall closed as I try to concentrate. I can see their outlines through my closed eyes, which keeps me on edge. A soft hum vibrates against my hand, tingling my fingertips. “I don’t know what I am feeling. What is that?”

“Energy. You can feel the plants, the animals, Markuus and me. . .”

I nod, feeling an overwhelming amount of movement below my hand. I realize all at once that it’s not a soft hum that I’m feeling, it is the jumbled movements of everything around me clashing and overlapping and combining into one staggering, undecipherable vibration.

“Focus on Markuus alone. See him in your mind. See his form behind your closed eyes. Then tell the earth what you want it to do.”

I see Markuus’ glow in front of me, shaking his head. He starts to step back. “I didn’t agree to this,” he says, his hands coming up in a defensive motion.

“She cannot do anything. She is not a fighter—said so herself,” Nelu tries to simultaneously reassure Markuus and bait me. It works this time.
