ragh does anyone wanna hear about the new imaginary movie? too bad im gonna tell ya anyways
alright so to start out my expectations werent high considering its a blumhouse pg13 and blumhouse has shit out works like megan and the fnaf movie which werent bad but certainly werent scary and definately didnt have great storylines but i must say? imaginary kinda hit
the story line made an amazing wrap around, the scares were fun, it was extremely low gore, and the characters were quite enjoyable. all around ive gotta say a solid 7/10, definitely "babys first horror film"
it was fun, highly recommened going with friends, its the type of film to scare the pants off of some poor middle schoolers but if your older you can still enjoy it
solid film, had fun

This movie was actually pretty fun. It reminded me of a few other movies, and it was a little predictable, but I had a good time watching it.

Saw Imaginary tonight. Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but it wasn't amazing either. It was just ok.

I watched Imaginary on Vudu over the weekend since I love DeWanda Wise and I already knew the imaginary friend manifests as a hulking bear monster, so that was all I needed to be interested.
And sure enough, the monster suit rules.
The movie is...fine. I didn't expect much, so I think I liked it more than most, but it's pretty standard with a cool monster (and a second one I did not expect) to elevate slightly.
However, I feel sure the filmmakers must have also seen Mario Bava's Shock at some point and, like myself as a teenager with big horror movie dreams, went:
"I have got to rip off that jump scare!"
If you have seen the Bava film, you know exactly the one I mean.

So we went to see the new horror movie Imaginary
I'm going to try not to give anything away about it
I don't want to spoil any of it.
I wanted to see this being the trailer I seen
looked really good and I would have to say that
I did think that the movie was really good I did
enjoy it. It was great and creepy I don't feel
that it was overly scary but it was very creepy
and had some interesting effects and creature
designs. I was happy to get to see the creature
fully in alot of the moments where it appears.
your basic story is this Jessica (played by DeWanda Wise)
and her new Husband Max (played by Tom Payne) and
Max's 2 daughters are moving into Jessica's
childhood home. They are taking over the house
form her father who is bed ridden in hospital
and they are planing to start a new life there.
Everything is going good until Max is called
away on business and Jessica thinks this is a
good time to bond with the girls.
during this time the youngest Alice (played by Pyper Braun)
finds a teddy bear named Chauncey and that is
when things begin to take a dark twist
and stuff starts to happen when Alice
starts spending more time with
her new friend who seemingly has ties to
Jessica's own childhood.
I did go into this with some ideas about the
bear Chauncey but they were squashed when
they have a somewhat big reveal about what is
truly going on and it left me wide eyed for
pretty much the rest of the movie after that.
I felt the acting was good especially
from Pyper Braun the scene where she in
talking to the doctor/social worker
about Chauncey in the living room area
was amazing I thought. but I thought
everyone did a great job actually.
but yeah I thought this was a great movie
I would say it drew on alot of other
movies I have seen if I would have to
compare it to something I would probably
say it was like the first insidious crossed
with the 2020 movie Come Play
(if you haven't seen either of those you should!!)
but other then that I thought this was a
great movie and if you want to see it
I would recommend it.

That Imaginary movie looks like it's going to be mid based on the full trailer (and it's a Blumhouse production so...) but I really like the toy commercial-style teaser. I'm such a sucker for stuff like that I wish the movie had that same style or tone but it looks pretty by the numbers.
