THE DATA CONNECTION
The scene in ST: Picard Season 1: Et in Arcadia Ego Pt 2, where Picard's soul meets Data, keeps turning over and over in my head.
I think of how Data revealed a hand of Q cards in the very beginning of the series, so clearly Q had something to do with that. What better person to help Q reach Jean-Luc Picard than his "professor of Humanities?"
Did Q use Data to help him connect with Picard in the end of Season 1? Was Data being used as a channel for Q?
There are meta-analyses posted by other Tumblrs, describing how Q is represented by a butterfly.
*******
"I am the gentle flutter of a butterfly."
"Humans with your griefs and pains... are like butterflies with your wings pinned."
*******
It was a butterfly, or rather, a moon moth that essentially led Picard's soul to Data, and then to Picard's synth body, created by Dr. Soong.
Data even remarked as he released a butterfly from his hand (As in: "Open your hand, Data. Follow me, the butterfly, Picard!"--Q), that "A butterfly that lives forever isn't a butterfly." That sounds a bit odd that "Data" said that. Who lives forever, and is leading Picard to the synth body, thus saving Picard from death?
It's possible that it was Data that Picard was speaking to. But, what if Q was also talking, too? Through Data?
Data said something about Picard dreaming of him. Picard then happily said that he dreamed of Data all the time.
But, how interesting it is that Q was part of Picard's dream with Data in it. How many times has Q been hinted at in Picard's dreams?
What I'm saying is that Picard isn't ready to have Q in his familiar form with, dark, luscious hair and all in Picard's dream.
Picard would still see Q as an enemy, and his stubborness, since he has so much repressed love for Q, would call it a nightmare, not a dream.
So, Q would have to be hinted at. In plain sight, and yet, hidden from being so obvious.
So, instead what if Q essentially "piggybacked" on Data to reach Picard in his dreams?
The other thing that I, as an audience member hoped, was when Data got Picard to say that he loved him, Q was also trying to hear Picard say those words to him, albeit indirectly to him.
If Q is manifesting himself as the butterfly, and has used Data (That sounds nasty to put it that way, I know.) as a means of reaching Picard, then wouldn't Q also want to feel in some way, Picard saying that he loves him?
Receiving Picard's love is Q's greatest desire. I wouldn't put it past him to find a roundabout way of getting Picard to say that he loves him.
The last thing I noticed is how when you start to see objects in the darkened room where Data is sitting across from Picard, there are Hindu figurines on the table, such as a Buddha figure, (Buddhism was also in India) an Indian-looking tower-like object, and a third object that looked potentially Indian. The camera focuses on these objects very quickly, but it also focuses on them twice, once in the opening of the scene and a second time around the moment when Picard gets up out of the chair to step into the light. What's so special about these objects that we see them twice? In Picard's sitting room. With a faceless mantle clock and the cosmos sparkling overhead? Who's the interior decorator here?
A meta-analysis done on Q's clothing at the end of Season 3 revealed that the eight-pointed star brooch on Q's costume was a navaratna with rubies, which just so happen to be Picard's birthstone. It's extremely interesting that there was the, for lack of a better word, the Indian connection with Q's red and black costume brooch in S3 and the objects of Indian design in the final episode of S1.
In Season 1, if Q is involved in Picard's "dream" with Q (Queen) cards (Season 2 trailer reveal!) and later with this mysterious butterfly that pretty much saves his Favorite's life ("I am the gentle flutter of a butterfly " Season 2), why not a third connection? (Q's interesting choice in jewelry in Season 3).
There are simply too many odd connectors for it all to be coincidence.
My curiosity lies in how Data ultimately fits in Q's role in this.
Q IS present in Season 1.
Did Data serve as a connection for Q to help create a connection between himself and Picard?
****Just a quck mention: When I listened very carefully during the second that Data lays down the Q cards in Episode 1, I swear I thought I heard a two-second "fluttering" sound.
I looked up on YouTube the sound of butterflies flitting around.
I listened to one video of a group of butterflies flitting their wings, and I heard the same sound.
You'd have to turn your volume way up when Data shows the five cards. But, I swear I thought I heard a 1-2 second sound of wings flapping.

Look at Jesus, he was not a humble person at all. He was not an egoist, but not humble either. That created the problem, that led him to the cross. He was not humble at all. And now many psychologists say that he was neurotic, and they have a point. Many psychologists say that he was an egomaniac; they have a point. If psychologists study Buddha and Mahavira they will conclude the same things—but they have not studied them. They should have been studied very minutely. So they say he was an egomaniac. Why? You can find reasons—because he was not humble. He used to say, ‘I am God,’ or ‘I am the son of God. I and my father in heaven are one.’ To the egoist mind this will appear like ego. And nobody can say that this man is humble who claims that he and God are one, or who claims that he is the son of God. It looks like a claim to us; to Jesus this was a simple fact. And he was not claiming that you are not the son of God: claiming that he is the son of God, he claimed for you all. It is Christianity which claimed the wrong thing; Christianity started to claim that he is the only son of God. That is absurd, that is egomania. But Jesus was saying a simple fact: if the whole creation is out of God, the whole creation is the son, God is the father. He was saying a simple fact with no ego in it, but this disturbed people. They thought a sage must be humble. He used to say, ‘I am the king of the Jews.’ This has been said many times, but to people who were more wise than Jews. Jews were offended that this man who was just a beggar on the street, no more—just a vagabond, just an old hippie—that this man claimed, ‘I am the king of the Jews.’ But he was not claiming anything, he was in a state of mind where there is no ego. Kingship comes into being, but that is not ego. And that kingship doesn’t belong to any worldly affairs, it is not a claim to rule anybody. That kingship is just felt as an inner nature.
Ram Teerth, an Indian mystic of this century, used to call himself Emperor Ram. He was a beggar, but nobody took offense in India because we have known so many beggars saying that, and we know that that happens: a moment comes when a person becomes an emperor without any kingdom. Really, a person becomes an emperor only when there is no kingdom. He went to America, and the American president invited him to visit. The American president felt uncomfortable because Ram Teerth always used to say ‘Emperor Ram.’ Even while talking he would say, ‘Emperor Ram says this.’ So the president humbly asked, ‘I cannot understand this. You don’t seem to have any kingdom, why do you claim that you are an emperor?’ Ram Teerth said, ‘That’s why I claim—because I have nothing to lose, nobody can defeat me. My kingdom is of the eternal, you cannot take it from me. Your kingdom can be taken, your presidency can be destroyed. Nobody can destroy me, I have nothing to lose. I am an emperor because I have no desires.’
If you have desires you are a beggar. So there are two types of beggars, poor beggars and rich beggars. When Jesus said, ‘I am the king of the Jews,’ he was saying this. But people got offended. They said, ‘This is too much. This man cannot be tolerated—he must be crucified, he must be killed.’ But Jesus was a humble man, humble in this sense, that even humbleness was not there—egoless, egolessness was not there—truly humble. But then one starts saying facts. And you live in a world of ego, you interpret because of your egos. So people thought, ‘This man is claiming something—that he is the son of God, he is the king of the Jews—and he is nothing, just a beggar, a vagabond!’ In India nobody would have taken any offense. India has seen so many Jesuses, nobody would have taken offense.
In India every sannyasin is called SWAMI; swami means the master, the king. We call a man swami; swami means the lord. When he leaves everything, when he doesn’t claim anything, when he has nothing, then he becomes swami, then he becomes the lord. Jesus was claiming something Indian in a country which was not India; that became the problem.
— Osho (Vedanta: Seven Steps to Samadhi)

You might be surprised but I also get the looking mean often. I think the biggest difference is that my culture doesn't entertain being fake nice as much as others (as someone who interacted with the brits, they're the epitome of it, I'm sorry)
Honestly, asian cultures oftenly get mingled when provided by people who didn't interact with said culture so all I know about India is basically the sari (I think that's how it's named? The colorful dresses are so pretty and the jewelry, omo) and most people practicing Hinduism or Buddhism (I'm still not sure of the difference, if any, between them? I know also there's a river in India that's like sacred and I know the cow is also quite a sacred animal?)
I think (again, not sure) Buddha's from there.
Honestly, when I think of India, as many not so cultured ppl, I do think of the Taj Mahal, elephants, River Ganje (?), Buddha and the many arms statue T-T
I also think of curry and spices (y'all got some delicious curry. And I say this bcs I actually ate indian food made by the right ppl lol)
I'm curious about traditions such as weddings, funerals and general holidays mostly
For example, my country (Romania) is Christian (ortodox) but got such a rich history and traditions that many of the traditions we have are quite more pagan than actually Christian (we were a pagan country a long ass time ago, after all)
So yeah, I'd say I'm a basic white girl (tho eastern europeans aren't exactly…well, basic in the european white history 😅 but not exactly the point. Tho we are not like brits and americans, that's for sure)
~🦊
Your perception is so cute😭 but yes I assumed you might’ve gotten that comment lmao- like I just knew lolol
So, let me say that our traditional cloths does include saris and kurtas- but like as we get urbanised, people are lesssening the usage of them. Like mainly grandma’s (or like 35+) women wear it on a usual and even they, to keep it comfortable prefer kurtas as daily attire. Most of us though, like we just go with basic causal wear. So they’ve become more of a traditional-only-when-events-are-around type of a deal for most of us
And like there’s so much more than saris, there are lehengas and anarkalis and ghagharas and shararas- like a lot of beautiful stuff frfor. And there’s different sort of method of embroidery too
Hinduism is very different yet similar to it, both focus on attainment of nirvana but where Hinduism is very life-concerned, like focusing on the present—Buddhism, at its core works for giving up worldly pleasures (Hinduism, like ancient one at least, divided human life into 4 age ranges—the last which began at like 65+? Or 50? That range focused on the same stuff as Buddhism) and then Buddhism is a little stricter and not discussed on idol worship where in Hinduism is core worshipping
Elephants 💀? Not tigers? They are our national animal lmao- the Bengal white tiger<3 but well, that’s how india is portrayed usually so I don’t blame you. There are many more beautiful things than the Taj btw and the Ganga is very holy to us- belief leads to say that your sins get washed with every dip in her (I’m an agnostic so idk but we’re very respectful to the religions usually- even the atheists I’ve met, they also act good towards Hinduism)
If you read our mythology and scripts the many arms will make sense lmao but this ask is getting long so I won’t get into it rn lmao-and we have a plenty of festivals. Like a lot.
Also like apologies but tell me about Christianity here (I’m not a fan at all of conservative Christian’s and all) and I’ve like mostly onky judged Christian’s so yes💀

4/4/2024: While I , Trang, as the female Buddha, am trying to collect solid evidence of the existence of God via God's database setting our lives out already if we follow our hearts to get to our God's destination or else we'll fall into Satan's destination (which I went towards that direction many times for I nearly got killed and became mental and disabled and lost my condo and most of 401k to bemco a semi-homeless. Solid evidences are weird coincidences that hard to man-made. Here's another weird coincidence for earthlings especially America: that bridge coincidence that involved a cargo that killed those poor bridge workers of laying American immigrants. Well, America is fighting the Houthies over their section of ocean water because they are fighting to support their Hamas friends and Muslim people in Gaza with the Houthies attacking cargo ships. Well this cargo ship that hit American bridge is a Muslim Singaporean ship. Ever since the Gaza war started, most of the shooting involved poor little children especially white children (9 children got shot in that white NFL parade). Most of shooting since that war has been non-muslims: white, light skin blacks, and some light skinned American Latinos. There was a small shooting at a dental office in CA that involved a Muslim against a Jewish. I think the big current mass shooters aren't Muslims for they learned to refrained themselves because they know the world favors them over Israel and America for the world learned Israel stole their land of the last 400 years even though the Israeli jews' ancestors lived there 3,000 years ago before they were driven out by Muslims and Muslims even fought with the Roman on that land too because there are Christian churches in that Gazan land (top 10 oldest churches are found in Gaza). I said ancient Jews probably got kicked out out of their land by Muslims and Roman because they were blamed for nailing Jesus,; however, the current Jews said they were wrongly blamed for the nailing of Jesus. Since the war, a Muslim did do a mass shooting in Canada but he didn't kill anyone. He just shot into building. However, that big mass shooting in Maine after the war involved a white man and it happened right after the war. See folks, religious war in today's time is the destruction of humanity. Better pull back America and western countries if you don't want to lost too much of your colonized land because your approval of helping Israelis win back their ancestors's land will be your loss of losing your colonized land to the indigenous people in years after we die when our children correct our mistakes. Poor white people who still want to colonize colored people's land or take back colonized land from 3,000 years ago of the Jews by the Muslims. Your new rule of the game for humanity (Jews must get their ancestors's land from 3,000 year go back)will back fire for karma will use their new rule to force your children and grandchildren to return the land you stole from the ancestors of the Indians. Karma will also use the same rule for England and Europe for they will be forced to take back their white people in old colonized land from the indigenous people when your children and grandchildren take over humanity after we all die.

To all those who inboxes me. Yes. I hate Hamas. I hate all terrorist. I hate Taliban, Boko Haram, Isis, Al Qaeda and the rest. Just like how Europeans hates Nazis and Americans against KKK. There is always a stupid group ruining every countries' image. The Taliban prevented rights to women despite what Allah said. Taliban are oppressing Afghan women. I hate them and so do other Afghan women. We are trying to rebuild our lives by killing or imprisoning them like how Germans captured the Nazis. It will take time to recover years of damage. The Taliban bombed historical sites. They burned fiction stories, poetry and paintings under the name of their fake Islam. We got pissed when the statue of Buddha was destroyed due to idol imaging. And our music instruments we invented were broken into pieces saying music is forbidden in Islam. Which is proven to be allowed as long as it is not cheering to murder, sex outside of marriage, devil worshipping, etc. harmless love songs and other genres are Absolutely allowed. We also lost non Muslim building like churches and synagogues, especially Indian temples. (India is next to Afghanistan.) So thanks to the Taliban our old friends are not our friends.
Sadly, even many men included cannot read. We have to teach them before rebuilding architecture and law. So, it will take years sadly to make things normal. I mean who wants an illiterate to build a school?
We were stereotyped as great people in the past.

Now we are laughed at.

War really disgraced us. We lost so much past efforts, money, and dignity. So, give us time to make things the way they were.

Two stories from the Sutra of A Hundred Parables
Here are 2 translated articles for this quarter.
Article 1

Killing the guide
Once upon a time, there was a group of merchants who needed to conduct trade across the ocean. As they needed someone to help them navigate their way to the coast, they hired a guide and set off on their journey. One day, they came across a temple with a sacrificial altar for Indian gods. Believing that a human sacrifice was needed to ensure their safety, the merchants huddled and discussed the best way to proceed.
“Every merchant here is a friend to us all, so nobody in our group should be sacrificed! So let’s sacrifice the guide to the gods instead!”
So they killed the guide as a sacrifice to the gods and resumed their journey. But because they had no guide, they got lost and did not know where they were headed. Eventually, the merchants were trapped in unfamiliar surroundings and perished in the wilderness.
Most people in this world tend to behave in the way in which the merchants did. However, if one wishes to find precious treasures in the great sea of Buddhism, then they should use the Dharma as their guide. If one abandons the Dharma and loses their way, then they will be trapped in the never-ending road of Samsara, be subjected to the suffering of the Three Evil Paths of Hell, Hungry Ghosts and Animals, and not know when their suffering will end! This is akin to the group of merchants who killed their guide while making their way to the coast, ultimately causing their own deaths when they lost their way in the wilderness.
We all know that if we need to drive to an unfamiliar place, we will need a map. If we need to traverse across the seemingly boundless ocean, we will need precise instruments and navigation equipment. Where are we headed in the journey of life? We need directions and a desired destination.
Buddhism practitioners should follow the Buddha, the Dharma and the precepts of our religion.
“Abstain from doing evil; perform acts of goodness; cleanse your mind; such are the teachings taught by all Buddhas”
So let us use the teachings of the Buddhas as our guide in the journey of life while interacting with people and objects and formulating our thoughts, in whichever state of moving, staying still, sitting or lying down. Their teachings will surely serve as a beacon of light which dispels the darkness on a dark road and guide us to a bright destination!

To eat half a piece of flatbread
Once upon a time, there was a man so hungry that he ate 7 pieces of flatbread. As he was halfway through the seventh piece, he felt full. Feeling regretful, he gave himself a slap on the face vexedly and said, “I felt full because of this half piece of flatbread, which means eating the previous 6 pieces was a waste of my time. If only I had known that this particular half would make me feel full, I should have just went for this at the start!”
Most people in this world tend to behave in the way in which the man did (Editor: Unknowingly, of course). Fundamentally speaking, happiness does not really exist. But because of ignorance and confusion, the desire to pursue happiness arises. Just like the aforementioned silly man, we think that a particular half piece of flatbread can bring us happiness.
Because of our delusion, people think that wealth can bring happiness. Actually, the pursuit of wealth is arduous. When we have obtained wealth, we have to use all kinds of methods to maintain and protect it. Life is full of impermanence, and so is wealth. Once we lose wealth, the consequent sorrow, yearning and regret causes much suffering. Be it in the past, present or future, the pursuit, protection and loss of wealth always brings suffering. Where is this so-called “happiness”? Because a coat brings warmth and a meal staves off hunger, we draw joy from warmth and the state of being well fed. These give us the illusion of happiness arising from the drudgery of mundane toil.
All Buddhas tell us, “Within the realms of Kamadhatu (Realm of Desire), Rupadhatu (Realm of Forms) and Arupyadhatu (Realm of the Formless), there is no happiness. There is only endless suffering!”
Because of ignorance giving rise to confusion and delusion, we invented the concept of happiness.
The man in the story did not understand that the first 6 pieces of flatbread he ate provided a foundation or a base. Without the steps of seed-sowing or irrigation, how could we hope for a future harvest? And what do we want to harvest?
We are kept busy in a life of toil, chasing after satisfaction via material and spiritual gains. In material terms, wealth does bring things which look better, sound better, taste better and feel better — the best enjoyment for our 5 senses (Editor: Sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch). A status of exaltedness is what we desire. We want other to accord us with respect, praise and affirmation. But these desires are akin to a bottomless abyss, bringing us an endless stream of suffering. Suffering arises whenever we cannot obtain what we want, whenever we are afraid of losing what we have, and whenever we actually lose what we have.
These luxuries do not come to us just because we pursue them. If we had not accumulated enough positive karma in our past lives, no amount of hard work will obtain them, so do not dream of a bonanza in this life. Everything about you is stored in a metaphorical “black box” of life. As long as we have done our part and recognize our roles (Editor: In terms of overall karma balances, are we creditors or debtors?), we will be ready to bear our responsibilities and to put down our grievances. Then fame and fortune will surely come to us, allowing us to live a life without worry. How blissful and unconstrained would that be!

Trip to Phuket, Thailand.
We recently visited Phuket in Thailand. We were a bit skeptical to be visiting Thailand in August since it is the rainy season here but fortunately for the duration of our trip which was 4 days it rained only on 1 day.
Our flight was delayed by an hour and we arrived in Phuket in the afternoon. Thailand has a visa-on-arrival policy and for many nationalities especially Western countries, the visa is free. However, for us (Indian passport holders) we need to pay 2200 baht per person. Luckily for us, we also had our photos with us which were needed for visa application.
We stayed at Rawai Beach, the view from the hotel was spectacular but it was too far from the airport around 40kms and it took as more than an hour to reach the hotel.
Tumblr media
Everything was available nearby. Local supermarket, Laundry services, bike rental, currency exchange, nice restaurants, massage parlors. Whatever you need was at walking distance from our place.
Upon arrival, we freshened up a bit and decided to explore the surroundings. It was already evening and the sun was about to set. We got some groceries and went to Jetty Point. This is the place where usually boats arrived after island hopping. The weather was nice so we clicked a few pictures and went to the market nearby.
Tumblr media
The market was full of live crabs, fish, and whatnot. This was not of interest to us as we are vegetarians. But from what we gathered, people buy these animals from these shops according to their choice and bring them to the nearby restaurant that cooks and serves them. There were many shops that sold the live animals and there were many restaurants that cooked them. Apart from that, there were other small shops as well selling the usual stuff - souvenirs, ladies' bags, earrings, and something similar.
We then went to a dinner place nearby called "The Vibe", it was right outside our hotel. Nice place with live music. Although, the music was loud and my wife got irritated at the end as we had to shout loud at each other to talk with each other :P Also, later we enquired about a bike rental service for tomorrow as that would be the most economical option for us to travel. Taxis and ride-hailing services like Grab are very expensive. They told us 3000 baht would be the deposit amount and there were bikes of different ranges costing 250/280/360 baht per day.
The next day, morning at 9.30 am we rented the bike and the first location we went to was The Big Buddha. Just to give a comparison, grab taxi from our hotel to Buddha Statue was 350 baht one way and we were paying 250 baht for the bike for the entire day. So completely worth it. The Big Buddha as the name suggests is a big Buddha statue and it is situated at the top of the mountain which gives a good view of the city as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is very peaceful and serene at the top of the mountain. There are monks staying there as well. Also, one more important thing is especially for ladies need to dress appropriately to enter the place. By appropriately, I mean the shoulders and knees should be covered. Otherwise, you need to buy some kind of sarong there. While coming back, we had coconut water and pineapple juice from a place that had an amazing view as well.
It was afternoon and at night we had decided to go to the weekend night market. We had some time in the middle and we had the option to go back to the hotel, rest and come back or go somewhere else. It was very hot outside as well. We decided to visit the central mall. We had seen it while on our way from the airport to the hotel. Additionally, it was enclosed with air conditioning so that would save us from heat as well. The mall was very big and although we didn't plan but still we did some shopping from there. You know how it works. ;-)
From there we went to Kata beach which is quite famous as well.
Tumblr media
There were a lot of tourists like us there enjoying the sunset. Some black stuff got stuck in my leg there and I didn't know what it was. Initially, I thought it was some dead animal, then I thought it was some oil coming out of the bike but then it was seen at multiple places. That night I searched online and found out that this has occurred recently in Phuket where someone illegally dumped some kind of oil in the sea which is coming back to the shore and getting stuck to our bodies from the water.
While going to the night market from the beach we stopped at a nice decent coffee place called Tang Toh Restaurant and Cafe. The coffee there was 70 baht. The night market was very vibrant and it sold everything. It had food, lots of varieties of food (mostly non-vegetarian obviously) , clothes, dresses, unique decorative pieces, and so on.
Tumblr media
We did good shopping there as well. We spent there around 2-3 hours and it rained heavily sometimes when we were there. Luckily, the whole place was covered so the rain did not impact us at all and it went away in 15-20 mins.
Me and my wife are both coffee lovers and we like to visit cafes. Before coming to Phuket itself, we had bookmarked this lotus cafe which is very photogenic and looked unique. The next day, we first went to this cafe which is called Ma Doo Bua Cafe. They have big lotus leaves there and the food/cafe is also good. Obviously, it is more expensive than a normal coffee place but it would be worth it if you like clicking photos. They also provided personalized photo services with a professional photographer along with drones with prices starting from 500 baht for a single person and 800 for 2 people. We reached there around 12pm and the next appointment available was at 4.30 pm for that photoshoot. We didn't opt for that service.
Tumblr media
From there we also went to another coffee shop called riverside coffee and had some snacks there. That place was okayish and there was no one there except us. Next, we decided to go to Freedom Beach as it was close by. The road to the beach was broken and this was the first time we experienced this kind of road since we had arrived. We were driving up on the hill and not many people were passing by which was very unusual for the beach. After 10 mins or so we came to a stop where a lady was selling something and told us to park the bike there and trek the rest of the road. She told us that it is a 10 mins hike. Well, it was much more than 10 mins. Also, it was a very steep slope and difficult to get down with no clear path. We both started thinking if we did a mistake coming here. While getting down I was thinking how are we going to come up from this place again. After 30 mins or so we reached to the beach and it was beautiful.
Tumblr media
There were very limited people on that beach (obviously, who was going to come this far). The water was very deep and the waves were high as well. I was sweating heavily because of the hike and was very annoyed already because I didn't expect the hike. Nonetheless, we went in the water and soon I was fine. We spent around 1-1 and half hours there before heading back. While heading back we chose a different route, the traditional one which was steep as well but it took only 10 mins to complete it. I don't know why the lady told us to park our bike earlier where the route was difficult.
Next, we went to Bangla Road and Patong Beach. Bangla Road is famous for its nightlife, bars, loud music, and "other" stuff. Although, me and my wife are not drinkers but still had to visit this place to know what all the fuss was about. Bangla road was really very noisy with loud music and everyone trying to call you in their restaurant to have beers, food, drinks, etc. This is how it looks, although this video is not from me.
youtube
There are a lot of restaurants and eateries around this area and it was the most crowded area in our entire trip. The atmosphere was electric and the calming beach on the opposite side made it a perfect contrast.
On the last day, we were going to go beach hopping. They charged us 1300 baht/person whereas their pamphlet said 3600. Definitely, they'll be charging that amount during peak season. The package included pickup and dropoff from/to the hotel. Plus it included lunch, unlimited tea/coffee, and snacks all the time on the boat. They also prepared a special vegetarian lunch for only 2 of us. It was a big boat that we were going to use and there were in total 39 of us. This boat was also equipped with a washroom. It was a big relief since going to the washroom is a big issue during such beach hopping and most of the time you just have to go out in nature.
It had rained very heavily the night before and there were no signs of sun in the morning as well when we were leaving. It was going to be rainy today as well. I was kind of hoping that it would not rain today so that we would enjoy this trip fully but life is not about what you want, it's about what you do of what you get.
Tumblr media
In the first two places we went inside the cave using kayak. Caves had limestone in it. It was very dark and quite inside the cave. It was raining continuously and while kayaking we were completely drenched. We then waited at one spot in middle of the ocean for swimming and kayaking. We were there for 40 odd minutes and then we had lunch. Finally, we went to James bond island. On this island, there was a James Bond movie shot in 1974. It was a very small island but still scenic.
Tumblr media
The host was entertaining and he kept us all engaged throughout the trip. The trip ended at around 4pm and after coming back to hotel we took a nice dinner at nearby place with live music.
Tumblr media
Finally, to mark the end of the trip we both did a full body massage for 500 baht/person. The message parlours were full even at 10 pm.
In hindsight, renting a bike was a good decision. It saved us lot of money, time and hassle. Going in August was also a good decision, it was off season so we got few things cheaper. There were tourists but it wasn't over crowded. Luckily for us, rain did not play a spoilsport. Staying at Rawai beach was something that we would avoid next time because it is completely at one end of Phuket and for everything we had to travel a lot. All the spots were at least 25km far from our place so it involved a lot of travelling.
Few interesting observations - Weed is legal in Thailand and it is available everywhere. There are dedicated shops selling only weed. There are far too many currency exchanges. You will see them everywhere. Wherever you are, there is always a currency exchange near to you. Since most of the people in Phuket are tourist they want them to spend as much money as possible by providing these exchanges they just reduce the friction. Smart move!

The Uttar Pradesh ATS interrogated the Indo-Pak couple Seema and Sachin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) interrogated Seema Ghulam Haider, a resident of Pakistan, and Sachin Meena, her husband from India. They were questioned by the ATS in Noida at an undisclosed location, according to a senior official of the UP Police.

"ATS is investigating the possibility of espionage and the woman's passage through Nepal to India. To determine if the woman is a "spy" or not, they are being questioned. But they were not detained," the senior official said.

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) were requested in a previous letter by the Gautam Buddha Nagar police to look into the evidence they had gathered so far.
Outdoor Gym Equipment Manufacturer
In accordance with Sections 14 of the Foreigners Act, 120B and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Passport Act of 1920, Seema (age 27) was detained on July 4 along with Sachin Meena (age 22) and his father (age 59) for entering India "illegally" and giving the woman shelter.
Every single one of the three received a 14-day court order. On July 7, they were later granted bail.
Officials claimed that Seema and Sachin had their first in-person encounter in March and had stayed in a hotel in Kathmandu for seven days. With her four children, Seema visited Nepal once more. Later, she traveled to Mohalla Ambedkar Nagar in Rabupura, Greater Noida, where she has been residing unlawfully since May 13.

Seema stated that she wants to live with Sachin after being let out of prison. Three years prior, Seema met Sachin while playing PUBG and the two immediately fell in love.
“I started playing PUBG in early 2020… I liked how Sachin played the game, so I initiated a conversation and we became friends. Slowly our friendship turned to love and we looked into the possibility of meeting. Sachin didn't have a passport, but I did. After learning that Indian citizens could visit Nepal without a visa, we made the decision to meet there. In an earlier interview, Seema stated, "We first met in March and later got married at the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu before returning to our respective countries. My kids stayed at my uncle's house in the interim.
Justice Nazim Akbar, Jewar Civil Judge (Junior Division), who granted bail to Seema, Sachin, and Netrapal, had stated that the case is punishable with imprisonment up to five years; therefore, in light of orders from the Supreme Court and the rules of the Allahabad High Court, the bail application is eligible to be accepted.
