Alice Eve has joined the cast of Sky’s upcoming comedy-drama series The Lovers. Alice Eve  will play a major supporting role. Details of Eve’s role are scarce, but Deadline hears she will play Seamus’ high-profile celebrity girlfriend. The series, follows Janet (Gallagher) as supermarket worker who doesn’t care about anything, including her life, and Seamus (Flynn) a handsome, self-centered, political broadcaster with what looks to be a perfect London life. When they unexpectedly meet, they instantly clash – and yet also find themselves inextricably drawn to each other. Sundance Now is a co-producer on the show, which comes from Pure, Life and Doctor Foster producer Drama Republic in association with Sky Studios. All episodes will be penned by David Ireland (Shetland), with director Justin Martin (The Crown) helming all planned six installments of the half-hour comedy series. Tessa is a young, brilliant barrister. From working class origins, she has reached the top of her game. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge.

This is very intense. With a very memorable performance by Jodie Comer. I wish I had been able to experience it live on stage.

I don't think I've ever before heard such an insane amount of text in such a short time. It's at times a little overwhelming.

I'm not sure if the "speech" at the end, recapping what the play had shown before, was necessary.
