✧CHAPTER 16✧
5 years had passed since the incident. Riki sighed, Kyle standing directly in front of him, Riki played with his hair, a small pout on his lips, not wanting to let go of the little boy, though he has to go to school. "Kyle... when you go to school... make sure you listen to the teacher" Riki warned as the boy grinned "I won't listen~" he cooed as Riki frowned "Don't cause any trouble" he sternly added, but the little boy giggled "I will cause lots of trouble" Kyle smiled as Riki sighed, bending down to the 5 year old's height.
"Daddy's going to miss you littlun... but it's ok because I 'll be happy knowing you're having fun on your first day at school" Riki added with a smile, making sure the sound proof headphones were safely in his school bag. "Kywe will miss daddy too" the baby added, barely being able to pronounce his words properly, which made him sound extremely adorable.
With a final hug, the tiny boy ran inside the school building, immediately being met with more kids his age, and smiley, sweet teachers. Riki randomly started crying when he saw the boy go in, and Heeseung laughed at him. "Please even Y/n wouldn't cry over something like this" He teased as Riki smacked his shoulder "Speaking of y/n... we need to go visit her..." Riki trailed off, his face showing just how troubled he was feeling..
Oh how much god loved reminding Riki the pain of losing a loved one, all those death scares. Riki arrived at the hospital, and there through the window, he saw her, sat by the baby incubator, a small pout on her lips as she fell asleep. "She stayed overnight again?..." Heeseung asked as Riki nodded. "She refuses to leave the baby's side... the doctor told us we should be expecting bad news Hee..." Riki trailed off as he tried to hold back the tears that dared to fall.
He wore the necessary protective wear as he stepped into the room, standing just by the baby. Y/n fluttered her eyelashes, having been awaken by the presence beside her. "Riki?... how was Kyle? he went to school right?" she asked as Riki gave her a warm smile "He was so excited about it, didn't even throw a tantrum" Riki said as y/n smiled back at him. "The doctor said we can start talking to the baby..." she added, staring up at Riki with hopeful eyes.
It's been 2 weeks since the babygirl was born, and y/n never even got the chance to hold her. There hasn't been a day she didn't cry. Riki barely ever went in the room, he didn't want to break down before her, wanting to stay strong for her and the baby. He glanced at the small little baby girl, safe in the incubator, how fragile she looked, so innocent and sleeping oh so peacefully, not a care in the world, and no fear for what may happen, he turned to y/n, that same innocence, and hopefulness...
Hesitant, he approached th incubator, his hands in the 2 holes, which already, safely, gloved his hand, which only barely touched the baby. "sweetie..." he trailed off, staring down at the baby, "You may feel comfortable in there my little one, but trust me, out here, you have a better world, way more comfortable, a life of fun, and seeing how you're fighting now, something tells me you will make a pro mob boss in the future" Riki said as y/n frowned at him.
Riki chuckled softly, "Well mommy doesn't want that but its ok. You have a mommy, daddy and an excited brother waiting for you back home sweetheart" Riki said with a smile, pulling his hands out softly, as he went to y/n and Hugged her. "Yeseol..." y/n said, hugging him softly "hmm?" Riki asked, a little confused. "Let's name her Yeseol" y/n said staring up at him as he smiled, hugging him. "That's a pretty name for our pretty girl darling" Riki said with a smile.

wow so killing him was an act of mercy out of love to put an end to their tragic fate. might be controversial to say but she was right. he was going to kill a child to protect her if she hadn’t stopped him. he was already in a hell of his own making.
also, you mean to tell me do ha never solved the mystery of kyw curse in 1500 years?? ultimately i guess it was just him being so hyper focused on han ri ta reincarnations that he didn’t bother paying close attention to her surroundings. crazy how he never considered that his father might come back looking for vengeance

"Marge Wieting, who was chosen over 1300 contest entrants to be the first local lady disc jockey, is [a] former Powers model. Frankly feminine in her approach to her Street of Dreams show over WFIL, she features dreamy music and soothing sayings…" – The Philadelphia Inquirer, 12/16/1951
Marge Wieting began her career as a disc jockey in 1949 on KYW in Philadelphia, using the name "Kay Wylie." Previously, according to her 2012 obituary, she'd worked as a pianist, as a model in New York City with the Powers agency, and as "a part-time actress with MGM." Her shift on KWY started at midnight (hence the clock setting in the photo) and ended at 2 am. When she moved to Philly's WFIL in 1951, her program was called "Street of Dreams" and aired from 11:05 pm to 1 am. She became a local television personality as well.

The Black Voters Matter Tour Bus Highlights Major Midterm Issues
November’s midterm elections aren’t the only thing quickly rolling around the corner. As an effort to reach minority voters across the country, a huge Black Voters Matter tour bus is rolling through various cities to galvanize the community, with its most recent stop being Philadelphia this past Saturday.
According to local news radio station, KYW, the tour bus became the anchor of a community health fair and block party, and shut down portions of the city’s North Broad Street.
Pennsylvania state organizing manager of Black Voters Matter, Kallel Edwards is touring the country to get Black and brown voters to understand the power of the vote. Edwards believes that a great way to do so is to frame the conversation around health care issues.
“It’s hard to have conversations with folks about hope, voting, and why we should vote when they’re dealing with this much trauma and disparity inside neighborhoods,” said Edwards.
Edwards also mentioned that the Black community needs to pay attention to a few key topics including; abortion, gun control, health care and education, mostly because of their everyday impact within communities of color. But there is one issue that the organizing manager says stands out among the rest.
“Voter rights for me,” said Edwards. “They come up with laws every day to keep us out of voting polls and make it hard for us to vote, and that’s because we’re actually making a difference.”
Edwards believes that there is also a direct tie between access to community services, and voter turnout.
“Their elected officials actually know that their constituents can hold them accountable,” said Edwards.
Elyahmen Buford, Jr. who works on the national logistics team says that the goal is not to just get people to the polls, but to inspire them to get involved beyond just that.
“I watched kids come up to us and tell us that they were afraid to discuss the issues that were happening in their communities, because they felt like no one was listening and they felt like those who are listening are not going to help,” said Buford.
“We are here to literally reassure them that there are people out there, and here’s how you get connected to them.”
He also emphasized the importance of being informed when it comes to the process and the candidates.
“We are beyond just doing voting,” said Buford. “We focus on voter suppression, getting people out to the polls, mainly educating them on their local politics.”
Edwards know just what’s at stake:
“Everything,” he said. “With so many rights being snatched from so many different states, the whole country has eyes on Pennsylvania, [with it] being a swing state.”
Organizers are also encouraging voters to double check their registration information, their polling place location, and to create a plan to get there ahead of time.

April 7, 1922 And Then He Took Up Radio by Clare Briggs
[ID: A man sits at a table, fiddling with the dials on the front of his radio. He listens through a pair of over-ear headphones while he smokes a cigar. His wife stands beside him, exasperated. /end] Alice: Come to dinner, Phil. PLEASE, it's getting cold. Phil: Just a few minutes... I want to get this connection with WJZ.
[ID: Alice walks away, throwing her arms up in frustration. /end] Alice: You're worse than a child. Phil: I'm not hungry anyway. Go ahead and eat.
[ID: The man turns around in his chair, excited about his latest achievement. /end] Phil: Oh, Alice! I've got WJZ!! There's an orchestra playing, it's great!
[ID: Alice returns to Phil's side, visibly worried. /end] Alice: Please come to your dinner. That radio can wait. Phil: I don't want to miss this program.
Alice: There's a VERY important call for you on the phone. Phil: Throw the phone out the window.
[ID: Alice brings a doctor by the house to examine Phil, who looks positively deranged. His hair is sticking up all over the place and he frantically giggles at his radio exploits. /end] Alice: I'm afraid he'll starve to death, doctor. He's so afraid he'll miss something, he won't leave that radio for a minute. Phil: Hoo-ray! I've got KYW!

Trudy Haynes (November 23, 1926 – June 7, 2022) was a news reporter. She became the nation's first African American TV weather reporter when she was hired by WXYZ-TV in Detroit in 1963. In 1965, she became the first African American TV news reporter for KYW-TV (now CBS-3), in Philadelphia, where she continued until her retirement in 1999. She received an Emmy Award as well as two Lifetime Achievement Awards during her 33-year tenure at KYW-TV and was hosting an online show called the "Trudy Haynes Show" at the time of her death. She was born Gertrude Daniels in New York City. The only child of Marjorie and Percy Daniels, she attended several schools but she graduated from Hills High School in Queens; racial segregation forced her to be bused to school. At Forest Hills, she became the only African-American cheerleader on her high school team. She was accepted to Howard University, where she studied sociology and psychology. She earned her BA in 1947. Before her work in news and network television, she started with the Ophelia DeVore Charm and Modeling Agency in the early 1950s. DeVore was known for being one of the first to market products to ethnic consumers and use African American models during the age of racial segregation and the civil rights movements. She appeared in several advertisements, most notably as the first African American to appear in poster advertisements for Lucky Strike cigarettes. She became an instructor for other trainees including Diahann Carroll and Beah Richards. She took her first steps towards her true calling in broadcasting when she was hired by WCHB, a black-owned radio station in Inkster, Michigan. WCHB was the first black-owned radio station north of the Mason–Dixon line. The station was created and operated by the father of one of her college classmates. She was hired as a receptionist; the director of the station took notice and asked if she wanted to be on a show. Accepting the position, she was named WCHB's "Women's Editor" and polished her interviewing skills while hosting a daily 90-minute program targeted at women. She had an affiliation with many professional associations. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence https://www.instagram.com/p/ClTtNd2rNbz/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
