911 Spoilers Season 3: You’ve been warned. 😅Buddie Rewatch
Episode 3 (Part 2)
If you're seeing this post first, I do have Part 1 up. I wrote over ten pages in my journal for Episode 3 alone and that turns out to be more than character limit for text posts. Here is the notes on the rest of the episode as promised.
Buck calls Maddie using a stranger’s phone. As he speaks you can hear how he is trying to hold back tears as he explains to his sister the day he just had and how he lost Chris. Buck sounds completely broken. Maddie is concerned over Buck and if he is injured. Buck shuts that conversation down and is asking for help on trying to find Chris. As Maddie gives him suggestions, he spots Eddie.
Buck makes a run for it and hides behind a tent. He does not know how or if he can look Eddie in the face and tell him he lost Christopher. Maddie tells him that he is going to have to tell Eddie. Buck cannot comprehend how he can tell his best friend that he lost his son. Maddie is trying to reinsure him that it is okay, Eddie is his father, but he needs to know.  She even tells him that she is headed down there to help him.
The 118 make it to the VA hospital with a truck full of patients. Bobby screams out for help; this is when Eddie walks out of the hospital walks toward the truck. This is when Eddie notices Buck in his peripheral. He walks toward him confused and asks him if he’s okay. Eddie asks about Christopher and Buck cuts him off.
Buck looks into Eddies eyes. There is a pause and silence. Eddie begins to scan Buck looking him down. Making note of the cuts and bruises all down Buck’s body. Eddie’s eyes start to look big as he notices Chris’ glasses around Buck’s neck.
“Why do you have his glasses?”
Buck starts to hold Christopher's glasses as he looks at Eddie. He is stammering when he says, “ I took Christopher to the beach” Eddies eyes get big and he ever so slightly steps back. Both men are looking into each other eyes.
Buck removes Chris’ glasses from around his neck, declaring how hard he tried. Not exactly saying the words that Eddie is obviously preparing to hear. Eddie is fighting hard to hold back his tears, he’s nodding at Buck, trying to be understanding, but his eyes fill up with tears. Buck’s voice cracks and he sounds about ready to sob.
Eddie is looking down, trying to fight his tears when he starts to look up and is visibly shocked. He sees the Spanish woman who was carrying a boy in the red sweater. The hoody is falling off the boy and Eddie recognizes that it is Christopher. Buck has his back turned from this sight.
Eddie zones out, he is no longer listening to Buck and just starts walking towards the woman while saying “Christopher”
Buck slowly turns around, following Eddie’s pathing. Eddie loudly yells “Christopher” and we hear Chris yell back “Dad!”
Eddie snatches Christopher into his arms and embraces him. Buck is visibly shocked and processing this moment. It looks like he is trying to cheer but also holding back tears.
Eddie is gripping on to Chris, repeating thanking the woman.  She asks him if he is Buck. Eddie momentarily confused corrects her and states, no I’m his father. She tells him, that he’s been asking for Buck.
Buck is obviously filled with emotions. We here Chimney making his way towards Buck. Chimney holds on to Buck’s arm. Hen is observing him waiting for a response. Bobbie approaches, but Buck is to focused at Eddie and Christopher to communicate anything. Bobby is the one to notice Buck staring at Eddie.
Eddie is staring back at Buck. They are holding eye contact. Bobby turns back to look at Buck and asks, “you too okay?”
Buck breaks eye contact and looks at Bobby. He’s breathing heavy, says, “We are great”. He begins to collapse on to his knees. Hen and Bobby catch him, Chimney helps by guiding them to a bed. Bobby sits next to him. Hen is hold him from above. Buck is resting his head on Hen’s arm and cupping her arm. His mouth wide open, staring at Eddie and Chris.
Montage of the aftermath, while buck is narrating over it. He is explaining how things sometimes goes wrong, and how we are fighting to survive, searching for love and family. Dreams and futures. For those who are lost. How being lost is not knowing how to get to be where we need to be.
He is sitting at his dining room table looking up at the sky. He is trying to process and contemplating his life choices. He is scratched up and bruised. When he hears a knock on his door.
He opens the door to Eddie and Christopher. Chris goes in for a quick hug. Eddie walks in behind him. Buck is visibly confused as Eddie starts to list off all the things he has brought for Christopher.
Eddie roasting his child in front of him by stating he has never made anything that looks like anything with Legos before. It is in a light hearted tone, but damn, even Christopher is not safe from Eddie’s judgement.
Eddie than lowkey roasts Buck by stating he’s not Carla or his Abuela, but he is working out for Eddie as a babysitter. And than roasts Christopher again by stating he is not too fast.
Buck is confused as to why Eddie would trust him with Christopher again, after everything that happened.
Eddie does not blame Buck. “It was a natural disaster, Buck.” “But, I lost him.” “No you saved him.”
Eddie being understanding and explaining that Christopher remembers Buck as a hero. The person that saved him. Eddie wants Chris to help save Buck too. Buck is expressing how he’s failed Chris. Eddie shutting that down by admitting he’s failed Chris too in the past, but that he doesn’t stop trying.
“I love him enough to not stop trying. I know you do too.”
This entire scene has a lot of eye contact and we can really see the height difference between Buck and Eddie.
Eddie places his hand on Buck’s shoulder, while looking deeply into Buck’s eyes and states, “There is nobody in this world that I trust with my son more than you.”
Eddie dropping that bomb, then casually proceeds to say goodbye to Chris. Buck is left standing there trying to process that he just heard.
Let’s go back to season 2, when Eddie openly admitted that he couldn’t trust Shannon with Chris. Eddie could not trust the boy’s own mother, but trust a man he met about two years ago with out a speckle of doubt.
Eddie makes a joke about staying inland this time as he leaves. Buck is standing there still processing what happened and lets out a slight chuckle.
Before Eddie closes the door behind him, he thanks Buck for not giving up. Buck is confused by this moment as well. Buck stares at Eddie as he closes the door behind him.
Buck smirks to himself as he’s processing what just happened. Buck than narrates about small choices and how they can have a big impact in your life and help one be found.
Buck was found by Eddie and Christopher. He knows that they are his found family. He knows this is where he belongs.
Buck walks over to Chris and they laugh together.
Okay, so a lot happens at the end with Eddie, Buck, and Chris. I want to note that although Buck blames himself for the events of the day and Chris going missing, it never once seemed like Eddie was going to blame him. Not even before they find Christopher and they  knew he was safe. I also want to state that this was Eddie’s first official I love you. Eddie of course is not aware that he said I love you. But Buck heard the I love you.
The way Eddie stared into Bucks eyes and Buck stared right back, you can not tell me that their souls did not see each other. That they are now tied together. I would argue that both Buck and Eddie feel the connection. Buck maybe more aware of it.  There is a split second where it feels like he’s processing his feeling towards Eddie. This is arguably Buck’s “oh” moment. Eddie is just in denial and justifies his emotions toward Buck as regular feeling you have for your best friend.

super early predictions for the show's future that might and probably will change once i rewatch:
Part 1/?
- There are few ways Janet being in Maddie's body could go. (There are more possibilities yes but these were the most plausible in my head)
Maddie gets her body back and continues living her life with the ability to communicate with the spirits
Maddie gets her body back and dies for real
Maddie will allow for Janet to stay in her body and Maddie herself stays in the afterlife
In the 1. case scenario
- If Maddie gets her body back by the end of s2 and we continue onto s3, it's possible that Maddie will still have the ability to communicate with the spirits
-> She was able to see Janet and Mr. Martin before Janet possessed her + she's kind of been balancing between this state of life and death
- That way we could expand on the universe with Maddie having the ability to communicate with all the characters
- Maybe even more living characters develop that ability. Simon can already see Maddie, that ability could expand. Xavier is already on the brink of death as it is so he'll probably be swooped into that world. Maybe.
- One issue though: Maddie and the others are seniors. So it's hard to say exactly how long the show could go on with this line up. Or. Well. It's not like most streming shows last beyond two-three seasons anyway so 😭
- But on the other hand I don't think this show has gotten too far in the timeline. Episode 6 was homecoming which is usually late september/early october (i guess? i'm not from the US 💀). Which means it's probably late october-ish. So there's plenty of time to explore the dynamics within this world if they pace it slowly.
- Although there's only so many months in a school year so even in that case that would leave room for 3-4 seasons at most (which I think is a good length for the show!)
- The timeline pacing applies to the show in general not just this theory
In the 2. case scenario
- Maddie stays in the afterlife and the story expands more on her dynamic with Janet (if she doesn't move on). I mean, she's just been in Maddie's body for MONTHS. That's bound to bring up some complicated feelings.
- Maddie might still have the ability to talk to Simon, maybe even the other characters. The show highlights that living people are able to see the spirits after a breaking point. Maddie actually dying could be that for specifically Nicole & Sandra.
- And for those for whom it necessarily wouldn't be. Like Claire and Xavier. Claire obviously has a tough home life, which can break anyone. Xavier, again, is possibly injured mortally so he COULD die for real -> ability to talk with Claire???
- I'm not a super big fan of this one personally. But maybe!
In the 3. case scenario
- This is my favourite one. It has the possibility to offer conflict, confusion and complications.
- Again, I don't think Janet has any bad intentions. She might want to just run away and/or live the life she lost. Maddie has been shown to be emphatetic.
-> Maddie gives Janet the opportunity to live in her body but in this case they'll settle that Janet will do that in Split River.
- Simon still sees the real Maddie, but to everyone else Janet!Maddie IS Maddie.
-> Being good at school, specifically english, is a big part of Maddie's character. Can't testament to Janet as a student, but she's from the 60's and as an individual has different strenghts to Maddie.
- The differences between the two in general will be a central conflict between the characters
-> Simon will have complicated feelings about interacting with Janet!Maddie. I think he'll help Janet adjust, but it won't be easy. He can only see his best friend at school, and even then ever so rarely. And here's this random girl living in Maddie's body, going about life as Maddie and no one but he knows.
- cue “she's nice, but she's not you” type of line
-> As for Maddie, she'll be fine first. It was her idea, after all. Over time things start getting complicated, though. It'll be hard for her to see Janet interact with her friends, teachers, mom. Maddie doesn't seem like a jealous person but seeing everyone she loves treat someone else as her from the sidelines will be hard for her.
- Maddie will want her body back.
- If Janet truly just wants to live, it might be harder for her to give it back -> conflict ensues.
-> As Maddie's want to come back grows, I think her and Janet's consciousnesses will start fighting for control.
-> The show ends with Maddie leaving the spirit world for good, but there might be remnants of Janet left in her.
the end.
What do you guys think? Any ideas for s2 and moving forward?

People will say Lydia and Allison aren't gay like they aren't such an obvious parallel to Lorraine (Lydia's grandmother) and Maddy(her lover).
(forgive me if I get any details wrong I haven't made myself start my rewatch yet.)
Now obviously Lorraine and Lydia have a lot in common as it is. They were both banshees. Lorraine got sent to Eichen, as did Lydia. She had a hole drilled in her head (or she did to herself, probably not but I don't remember exactly). They were very close too while Lorraine was still alive.
What awakened Lorraine's powers was predicting Maddy's death. She knew it'd happen, but couldn't stop it, losing the love of her life.
Lydia predicted Allison's death, she knew, she told her not to come, but in the end she couldn't prevent her death. She lost her.
Lydia and Allison literally parallel Lydia's lesbian Grandma and her dead lover!!! Y'all don't get it.
Lorraine and Maddy even look alike Allydia mind you.

Your drown buck mission must have gotten in my head because I was just rewatching Buck Begins and there were several little things that stood out to me in the context of... if the drown buck theory were to come to pass, could make for nice parallels ,or just things that work nicely with what you've already laid out for that spec.
One was Buck being in a terrible headspace, but going into the factory fire and then disobeying orders to evacuate which got him in a life-threatening position. And "giving up" (which I know you've mentioned in your spec around him maybe not trying as hard to save himself)
They must have mentioned the ocean, specifically, at least three times in the postcard/flashback montage- from Buck: "I love being close to the ocean," "I miss the ocean," from Connor: "[LA] it's only an hour from the ocean, man."
The exchange with Saleh after Buck gave him his mask about "how will you breathe?" "I'm gonna hold it." "for how long?" "as long as I can."
I'm not sure I've ever heard or at least noticed 911 do this at any other point, but they played a heartbeat sound effect, only for about three beats, right as Buck is noticing him passing out/not breathing(?), just before the sprinklers come on.
And then there's just the whole music/rescue of it all: "so far from being free, from the past that's haunting me / the future I just can't touch" *ENTER EDDIE* (and team).
Idk, all that^^^, combined with your spec, and just generally where Buck's character stands vs where he needs to go, seems to line up nicely for a subtle, non-labeled, Buck Begins Again.
First of all, I need to say that every time someone says they are thinking about Buck drowning because of me I laugh like a cartoon villain lol so thank you for enabling my insanity.
ALSO YES YES YES. I know my general explanations of how I got to the drowning only brush on Buck begins, but like, the spec itself started going around in my head when I made this post back in September, because I thought making the set would make me stop thinking about Buck and water and the general breathing of it all, clearly it didn't work lol. The main thing for me is the way Buck has been trying to keep himself together since Buck Begins, and that I'm gonna hold my breath thing really stayed with me, because that's against protocol, but Buck doesn't believe his life is worth it, and in that moment he's really feeling that, and even Buck admits it, he almost gave up there. And Buck has been holding his breath. And sure, you could've moved on from that after the lightning since the thing that stops working are his lungs, BUT he's still pretending to be fine, he hasn't dealt with his death or any major feelings he might have about everything that happened to him. And since his trauma is linked by water and most of his near death experiences involve breathing, drowning him makes so much sense narratively. Even more considering the way he had some sort of revelation when he was in his coma, experiencing something like that again could shock him into action. Seriously, it's right there. It writes itself. And you can parallel SO MUCH stuff. Almost losing Bobby in the plane crash, Maddie lost in the snow, losing Chris on the tsunami, almost losing Eddie on the well, almost losing himself at that warehouse or even the lightning. It's right there.
Also yes, Eddie being the first on his line at the warehouse always makes me feral. Even more paired with the way Eddie was running up that ladder to get to his line in the lightning. Like hello?????? They need to drown him and make Eddie bring him back again since Eddie was the one doing cpr and shocking him when they got his pulse back. It all makes sense.

my scattered thoughts on the finale after a rewatch. I didn't even need to let the episode infuse; I was just basking in the joy. It was thrilling, it was moving, it IS the fantasy I love. I'm so proud of what this show accomplished
- Renna cutting Egwene's hair. Maddie's eyes in that scene... Light
- The flashback of Ishy's imprisonment at the Eye was so good. YES Alexander Karim is incredible. Fares Fares is incredible. I love a good "3000 years ago" Doctor Who title card
- PADAN FAIN MY FAVOURITE LOOSE CANON. His panic when he saw he armed Mat without subduing him had me smirking
- Denial is a river but I'll take Ishy putting all the pieces in place before Falme as proof that the Cairhien train wreck was planned
- Lanfear yeeting Mo and Lan out of the Gateway... enough said
- Loved the way Avi said that many people would wake from the dream. Her tone sounded kind, full of the awareness that many of the people who would die did not choose to fight
- The Mat stuff... Delicious. I had gripes about his arc but they stuck the landing. I adore his shrewdness, his heart, his relief at finding out who he is. And the Horn! I got chills. It looked nothing like I had pictured it but man, I loved it
- Minor thing: I didn't care for the design of the Horn or the blurry motion, but those are strong stylistic choices and I commend the show for making them. This series has a vision and will not settle for generic fantasy look and I LOVE it
- The bond scene got me, truly. I think we all knew that Lan had misinterpreted Moiraine's words but it was nice to get confirmation. I love that it was such a choice to recommit for both of them. The scenery, the music, the weave, the acting...
- When Daniel's face twisted as he was hit with the full force of Moiraine's emotions, I lost it. I cannot believe how good this relationship is. The choice to treat their platonic bond as profoudly as a romantic bond? GENIUS
- I'm fascinated by the way they're depicting Nynaeve's block. It's layered, nuanced, fed by different experiences and traumatic events and makes much more sense than her book block. Zoë portrays Nyn's insecurities SO WELL, it's painful to watch
- I hated that the way of showing Nyn still could be a Wisdom was with her shoving the arrow with the fletching inside Elayne's leg?!?! Remove the large end please!?! Why??!? I winced at that
- Nyn and Elayne's arc was also a miss for me. Since they use the a'dam on a sul'dam, they could figure out as well that sul'dam can channel except we don't see it. So the set-up with Ryma showing them the a'dam leads to nothing for their arc
- Hmmmmmmm, the parallel with the EF5 and the Ishy, Lanfear, Lews bond was perfect. Especially as Rand is part of both groups. Just amazing
- They dress Nyn as a sul'dam to... show that the white character feels bad when Nyn tortures the real slaver? I get the point of the scene for Nyn and Elayne. The optics are just weird for a disguise that does little. Nyn looked so good still!
- Elayne has the patience and control of a mountain though because the situation was extremely tense
- I loved Loial's little speech even if he deserves more screen time: he's right, they are living history. He's a constant delight
- The trope of characters running into each other in the midst of battle is one of my favourites so I was living
- Eggy's arc is so satisfying: from her confrontation with Renna to her getting to protect Rand, she was utterly amazing. As much as I'm disappointed that Nyn and El didn't help here, I appreciate what this isolation is doing for her character
- Will Perrin keep the MAGIC SHIELD? This show is fantasy with all its heart and it's so enjoyable to watch
- Rand finding her broken and exhausted, not even grasping he was here was heartbreaking and gorgeous. Even if they all came to save her, in the end she was alone and had to break herself free. (Also pouring one for Maigan)
- Perrin had the most consistent and enjoyable arc of the EF5. I love everything about the characters he met and who contrast or echo his internal struggles. His horror at Hopper's death and the fury with which he killed Bornhald sr? SO GOOD
- It's so fun that many book readers had theorized Uno would come back as a hero of the Horn and he did!
- Mat has my whole heart too. Truly, the way he cradled Rand in his arms. These kids love each other so much
- Nynaeve watching Rand agonizing, unable to help him. I feel so sorry for her. She needs to rely on others, it's a needed pain here. Still painful though. Contrast that with Moiraine who shut off Lan because she could not protect him
- Moiraine weaving some Greek Fires torpedoes and using the fire of the burning ships to shape a dragon banner was not on my bingo card, but she deserved that after this powerless era. It was so beautiful and cathartic to watch
- I do love Moiraine "I'm not at my strongest with fire" Sedai hurling a giant fireball at an entire fleet. It's a nice way to integrate the scenes of Moiraine creating firewalls and weaving a giant illusion we did not get from book 1
- Love, LOVE the fact that in the end, Lanfear's and Moiraine's goal aligned. Moiraine got to proclaim the Dragon, making history, which Lanfear had planned. Rand will not like that. It's such a good set-up for future conflict between them
- On Rand, for anyone worried about how his powers come off, show-only sister literally just observed that it was funny that he has better control than Nyn who's supposed to be so powerful
- His greatest display of power with Turak is quick, ruthless, perfectly echoing the easiness with which Ishy and Lanfear wields the One Power. It makes sense he would not channel like Eggy and Moiraine, let alone Nyn
- In the end, I love that the show made his standing up and defeating Ishy a collaboration: all of his friends (plus MoLan on the beach) were essential. It was the perfect hopeful counterpoint to the bleakness of the s1 ending (which I loved)
- The Moghedien reveal... That's the second season where they manage to perfectly tease the next season. Now all the Forsaken are loose and the gloves are off.
I loved s1, I really did, but this was even greater. Two years for more is torture

Buddie Moodboard - Criminal Minds AU
So yeah, I've started rewatching that show. And of course, Buddie jumped right back into my face and wouldn't let go until I moodboarded this. So... the moodboards have won yet again. Anyway, hope you enjoy. Cheers!
Looking back, Eddie Diaz never thought he'd join the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI. After his time in the war, he took a long time, figuring out where to fit in, what to do with his life now that he is out of the military. So no, becoming an FBI agent, moving to Los Angeles to join the BAU sub-branch there, as a single dad, and to dive into dangerous situations on the daily is not the first choice that comes to mind. Less so if you asked his parents.
But there is only looking forward, so Eddie is taking his chances with the team under the lead of Special Agent Robert "Bobby" Nash. While everyone on the team is undoubtedly capable and undeniably nice to him upon his first day, one of the agents just returned from some time off seems less than pleased. In his opinion, they don't need anyone else on the team.
It doesn't take a profiler to figure out that the guy's got the heart in the right place, just a bit afraid of change, of people leaving – and someone allergic to being called by his first name. Though after their first together, Eddie and Buck don't just find a common ground, it doesn't take them long to develop a strong friendship.
One of the odd things about being surrounded by profilers is that it becomes all the harder to keep your private life private. Not only do you spend so many hours together, but you are surrounded by people whose job it is to figure other people out. So it's hardly surprising to anyone that each of the team has their very personal demons haunting them: Be it having lost loved ones to unsubs they didn't catch in time, or having found themselves in an unsub's hands and be saved by people of just that profession.
Buck also has his special reasons for being there. And as Eddie finds out early on, this job is so much more to him than a job is to most other people. He considers it his true purpose, more so because he feels like he owes it to Bobby that he ever got there. He used to be a regular police officer who just "tagged along", until Bobby consulted on a murder that happened in the town he was stationed at. Bobby picked up on Buck's innate talent to get inside an unsub's head and his dedication to the cause. Or as Bobby puts it:
"You can teach crafts and skills. But you can't teach talent and attitude. And Buck's always had both of these things."
So Bobby gave him his card, told him to try out for the BAU's special program. And Buck did. While it's taken a lot of effort, he eventually managed to join the team. Which is why he is not only protective of his friends at the BAU, for him, this job is his life. And he will defend that till last.
Buck's life is turned upside-down more than once when his sister Maddie steps back into his life. A few years back, he wouldn't have noticed that something is off, but as a profiler, he knows. He is no longer the kid stuck in a loveless home, believing every soothing word his sister says to keep him out of harm's way. This time, he vows to himself, he will protect her from her abusive husband, he will make her stay. So he helps her land a job at the FBI, filling the empty space his ex Abby left.
Things seem to be moving all the right directions once Maddie breaks out of her shell and dares to fall in love again. Chimney and her are as happy as they can be. That is, until Doug comes back, nearly kills Chimney, and abducts Maddie. The team races to save her, which, thankfully, they manage.
Though this is far from the only crisis the team has to face. One particular event changes everything for Buck and Eddie. After Eddie nearly dies at the hands of a sniper, nothing is as it was between them. Buck doesn't just feel like he failed his best friend. He feels like the feelings he's been trying to put off, those romantic feelings for Eddie that have no space in their world together, are shattered like glass, too.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Eddie quits the BAU. First for his son's sake. Later on, actually for his own. Eddie finally has to reckon with his past traumas, all the things he pushed down over the years. And he can't do that while working a job that forces him into swallowing it all down.
Though Eddie misses his job. He misses the team. He misses having Buck's back. Sure, he is around, but it's not the same as it used to. To top it all, Buck seems to be withdrawing more and more from them for reasons Eddie can't yet fathom. Eddie is hesitant about returning, though, fearing that Christopher won't take it well. After all, he nearly lost him once, and the fear of losing his father is all too painful and all too real in the line of work they do.
The whole world stops turning for Eddie one evening, though. Because he has to watch footage of Buck bleeding out on a street, held hostage by a kid seeking revenge on Bobby, with a suicide belt on and the trigger in his hand. It is then that Eddie decides to follow his heart and join the team as they race to rescue Buck...

Rant kinda:
I see people wondering how everything is going to fit into s7, like the cruise emergency, madney wedding, henren baby.... But I feel like all of this could be spaced out evenly even with a shortened season (and it also seems obvious we will be getting a story with a shift between the Buckley-Diaz dynamics in the early episodes)
Like when I rewatch the older seasons MORE was done! And we didn't spend 4 episodes primarily focused on a SINGLE arc with over encumbersome emergencies. (s5 and s6 pacing will always get to me) and I feel like season 3 is the best example of this, I mean they had the tsunami arc, lawsuit, henren trying for a baby then deciding to foster, Eddie's fighting ring, ATHENA BEGINS, Hens ambulance accident which helped shift henren to a healthier place, Maddie getting over what happened with Doug, starting Micheal cancer storyline, plenty of soft scenes between Chimney and Maddie, and comedic things spread throughout the FIRST HALF of the season. All of this was in 10 episodes, whose to say this can't happen again with s7? Because I feel like we lost the plot a little bit on balancing character storylines with each other and with emergencies.
Plus, we can parallel the new stories we'll get, like 911 has done before with storylines (also something s5 and s6 lacked imo) not only paralleling more emergencies to character storylines but characters to characters, keeping a theme for storylines different characters have in an episode! And maybe I wasn't paying attention and they did this in the newer seasons, it just wasn't as impactful. And we desperately need more narration.
Just think if we have a parenting storyline. Hen and Karen relearning what it's like to take care of a baby again, Buck realizing he has a much more parental role with Christopher (I really think s7 is leading up to that), a segment that really talks about Athena having an empty nest (and please just explain that Harry went to live with Michael because of his trauma in LA it makes sense), honestly Maddie and Chimney would probably have a soft family scene at the beginning/end.
Or there's an episode about Maddie and Chimney finally getting married, and it goes over how Bobby and Athena got married fast, Hen and Karen sorta having the most experienced out of everyone, and the soul searching in sure buck and Eddie will be doing.
Montages at the end of episodes are everything.
I think that's it.

911 Spoilers Season 3: You’ve been warned. 😅 Buddie Rewatch
Episodes 16-18
Episode 16: The One that Got Away
The 118 is in a burning building. Buck and Eddie are trailing ahead, Bobby is behind them. They are checking every apartment for survivors. Buck finds a man passed out on the ground. The man is barely conscious, is asking about a Gladys.
They assume he is talking about a cat, Buck stays behind looking for the cat, he finds a cat that turns out to be Hoover. Gladys is a deaf woman who is still trapped inside.
Buck wants to do a rope rescue. Eddie isn’t surprised, but knows it is extremely dangerous.
Eddie and Buck are on top of the building next to the burning one. They jump onto the burning, where Eddie secures himself to the top of the building as Buck lowers himself down to Gladys’ window. Buck breaks thru the window and pulls Gladys out.
As they are descending, the roof starts to collapse and Eddie must secure the rope to the building and get off that roof. Buck must descend the rest of the way by himself. The rope catches on fire. The fire cuts thru the rope and Buck and Gladys fall on to the airbag, Buck and Glady’s are safe, a lot of bystanders were recording the rescue.
Buck is celebrating the rescue. He wants to go out to the bars and celebrate properly. Eddie is the first to decline, because Chris is hosting his first sleep over, but he extends an invitation to Buck if he wants to celebrate with a bunch of 9-year-olds.
Hen, Bobby, and Chimney all also decline Buck’s invitation. He decides to go celebrate alone.
Buck walks into the bar as the News is playing his rescue. Buck is proud momentarily, until the older patron he sat near, calls him an idiot. We meet Red, a retired Firefighter.
Buck and Red spend the night drinking. Buck is listening to all of Red’s old stories. With the number of cups and bottles on their table, they are obviously drunk.
Through out this episode we learn about how similar Buck and Red are as individuals. They both made firefighting their whole identity. Buck sees his possible future in Red and that scares him. Especially the part about being alone.
Buck walks Red to his apartment, where he sees photos of Red’s old firehouse and learns more about Red’s life. Red giving Buck the advice of not neglecting his own life.
Buck is talking to the 118 about Red and how his situation is bother him. Eddie and Buck are standing next to each other. Eddie trying to comfort Buck and agrees with him that they will not lose touch.
Buck tries to surprise Red with news that he found her lost love Cindy. Buck convinces Red to go see Cindy to rekindle what they once had. He drives Red to Cindy’s house and get him baseball tickets to go see a game.
It becomes obvious real soon that Cindy is suffering from dementia. Buck’s plan falls apart and Red feels like he can’t survive Buck’s medaling.
Buck talks to Maddie about the situation. We learn that Buck still occasionally thinks about Abby his lost love. Buck also talks about how Maddie doesn’t understand his situation, because she’ s the one that leaves and he is the one that is left behind.
Red is in the hospital; he calls Buck to help him be discharged. We learn that Red has cancer and is dying. Red tells Buck to stop trying to save him and Buck realizes the best thing he can do is sit down and listen to his story.
The 118 surprises Hen with a doctor’s coat after her very unconventional rescue. Eddie and Buck are at the front of the group cheering the loudest. Bobby slightly behind and Chim slightly towards the left. A bunch of extras are in the back.
Buck makes a comment about how they call him a show off. Eddie follows with a joke about field transplants. Chim states that that is why she needs the coat.
Buck and Eddie nearly pressed up near each other. Eddie offering to take a photo of the moment as Buck calls her Dr. Wilson and Chim helps her put on the coat.
Buck continuing to gas Hen up and Eddie taking multiple photos of Hen in a coat. As the team starts to disperse Eddie says he will send Hen the photos. Buck receives a call.
Buck meets Red at the hospital. Buck plans an elaborate discharge that shows Red he is appreciated by the department. The 118 at the end saluting Red and escorting him home in the fire truck.
We learn of Red’s passing and Buck is in tears while talking to Maddie. Maddie acknowledging that Buck was comparing himself to Red’s life and telling him that he will not be left behind.
Episode 17: Powerless
Hot air Ballon: Buck goes on to talk about how dangerous hot air ballons are. Eddie is visibly confused by the comment. Buck clarifies that dispatch gets a lot of calls in relation to hot air balloon incidents. Eddie asking if Maddie told him that and Buck responding with “no, someone else” Cuts to Bobby making a face because he knows that means Abby.
Eddie and Buck standing near each other as the discuss wind conditions and how to get the girl down.
Everyone running to pull the ballon down. Eddie and Bobby grabbing the rope and pulling down as, Buck jumps into the basket to bring her down.
Hen and Karen talking about going out to a restaurant and why Karen was not invited. Hen explains if she invited Karen, Chim would invite Maddie. Maddie would invite Buck and Buck would invite Eddie.
Tree cutter vehicle gets stolen; Buck and Eddie almost getting hit with a spark. They are of course standing near each other. Like I don’t know who often I have to say this, but Buck and Eddie are always standing near each other. Chim and Hen are never on top of each other as much as Buck and Eddie are.
Eddie and Buck pull the victim out. Turns out there is a power outage.  Buck runs over to a car accident that happens nearby.
Athena gets attacked. I remember the first time watching this episode, I was so worried and panicked. I didn’t think she would die, but I definitely was at the edge of my seat. I think the most traumatizing aspect of this is everyone, especially Bobby hearing Athena being attached and that single gunshot.
Everyone listening to the attack, they are quiet and concerned to afraid to say anything. The 118 running into the building, even though it is not clear. Them having to call another RA unit to the scene because the 118 was not going to help Athena’s attacker.
Train derailment; Abby is the person to call in the emergency.
Episode 18: What’s Next?
Abby is on a moving train. She is walking to the bar for a drink. We learn about her travels and she acknowledges that Buck has stopped waiting for her.
Buck is overly concerned about Christopher going to summer camp for two weeks. Eddie confused by the over concern, stating he brought this up so they can make him feel better about the situation.
Buck is acting like an overly concerned father. It’s cute how close his relationship is with Chris that he is so deeply worried about his safety. I think it is especially funny because Buck is such a dare devil/ risk taker.
Buck laughing at Bobby’s experience with sleep away camp.
Eddie is grading Hen’s practice test for the MCAT. Eddie and Buck being incredibly supportive of Hen’s desire to go to med school.
The Train derails. The 118 shows up to the scene to help. Buck and Eddie are canvasing the scene.
Eddie approaches Abby and tells her that she cannot go back into the train. She tries to explain that she understands it is dangerous but she has to get into that cart. Buck walks passed and recognizes Abby.
As Abby recognizes that Eddie is from the 118, Buck calls out to her. Eddie looks at Abb, I don’t know how to describe his expression. It’s a mix of disappointment and something else. I really wish I knew how to describe the feeling.
Eddie slightly backing away as Buck fusses over Abby. He is trying to make sure she is alright. Abby is just trying to get him to listen, she is alright and she’s worried about finding her fiancé.
Buck looks heartbroken at the realization that Abby has a fiancé. Eddie cuts in asking for a description of her fiancé, but looking over to Buck to see his expression.
Eddie runs towards the direction of the cart, he is about to pat Buck on the shoulder, but hesitates and just runs off.
Buck starts to get his composure back. He asks Abby for her fiancés name, which is Sam. He tries to shake off. Abby thanks Buck and Buck tells her that it is not necessary, he’s just doing his job. He promises that they will find him and bring him back to her.
Eddie and Buck climbing up the train cart identifying dead bodies and victims.
Buck is the one to find Sam pinned against the cart. He tells Sam that his fiancé is safe on the ground. Eddie is looking at Buck concerned.
The cart shifts with Buck and Eddie inside. They are both tossed up.  Bobby makes his way inside with a hydraulic ram. As they try to get Sam unpinned, we hear a woman scream. They pause to access the situation.
Eddie and Bobby accessing who they can save. Because of the circumstances, it’s very likely they can only save one. Buck looking distraught at the realization.
Sam realizing that it’s his life or the girls. Buck reassuring him that they are trying to work on a solution to save both. Sam telling buck about how his wedding is planned for June.
Buck hearing Bobby and Eddie decide to work on the girl since she has better odds. Buck being vocal about how they cannot just do that. Bobby confused by outburst. Eddie to reveal that Sam is Abby’s fiancé.
Eddie in this moment sounds a little jealous and bitter.
Buck is scaling the outside of the train, trying to cut out an exist as Eddie is inside with the victims. The cart shifts as Buck is outside. They are able to pull the girl out safely and turn their attention to Sam.
They are able to safely extract Sam out of the cart and reunite him with Abby. Sam learns that the Firefighter that was helping him is the Ex-boyfriend, Buck.
Eddie standing by Buck as Abby and Sam go into an ambulance. Eddie looking up at Buck and asking him if he’s okay.
Sometimes their height difference is very noticeable, this is one of those moments.
Buck ignores the questions and asks what is next.
Buck and Abby meet up. Sam is doing alright and she thanks him for that. Abby apologizes to Buck about how he heard the news of the engagement. Buck talks about how upset he was over here ghosting him. Him getting an explanation for the situation. Buck finally gets the closure he deserves.
May’s Highschool Graduation party: Buck and Eddie are standing near each other as they cheers to May’s success.
Eddie dancing with Christopher.
Buck and Chimney laughing uncontrollably. Buck and Maddie taking a silly photo together. Eddie and Chris taking a silly photo together.
Buck and Chris signing May’s poster together.
More clips of Eddie dancing with Chris and then Karen and Hen.
Buck and Chris take a cute silly photo.
Buck, Eddie, Chim, and Hen take a silly photo.
This cute Gif moment and my profile photo;
Tumblr media
More Buck, Eddie, and Chris adorable photos.
Chistopher getting onto a bus for summer camp. Eddie standing outside of it, saying goodbye.
More Chris and Eddie dancing.

rewatched the first ep of 6A just now and uh. the set of injuries/emergencies in that ep sure was: leg injury (lucy), cardiac arrest (girl with the heart pump at the blimp call), kidneys shutting down because you were stuck in one place for too long (touch a car win a car lady), struck by something crazy (wedding ring golf call), rain (maddie described the broken pipe in her apartment as 'raining' in her kitchen), brain injury leading to coma (athena's dad), someone thinking they lost their brother (maddie's hide and seek call) and stuck 60ft in the air requiring rescue (blimp call).
first episode of 6B: maddie thinking she's lost her brother buck, who was in the rain, got struck by crazy lightning which can cause cardiac arrest and brain injury leading to coma, fell from the ladder in a way that definitely looks like it could cause a leg injury, and got stuck 60ft up in the air requiring rescue, dangling unconscious in a harness which puts him at increasingly higher risk for suspension trauma/harness hang syndrome the longer he stays up there. you know, that thing that causes your kidneys to shut down and your heart to stop.
this fucking show. i can't.

Let Go
I don’t know if ao3 is working at the moment so I will post my rewatch fic codas here for now! So a continuation of Buck writing letters to Maddie after each episode’s events but not sending them.
Title: Dear Maddie
Summary: After the events of Let Go, what would Buck have written?
A/N: while not mentioned explicitly, does allude to him losing Devan on the call and the therapist situation.
Dear Maddie,
It’s been a rough week. I lost my first victim at a call. When I started working here, I knew that it was always a possibility. But to have it actually happen was really hard. My captain suggested a therapist but I don’t think that went as he thought it would. I don’t think therapy’s for me, honestly. I really wish I could talk to you right now. You’d give me great advice. Could really use one of your hugs. I’ve been talking to this woman, Abby, though. She’s amazing. We’re phone buddies, basically. I love you. I miss you.
Evan.

Rewatching from season 4
Turns out it's the Buck Begins' season (how appropriate) and
How I HATE his parents ("You have to know, we never blame you" HE HAS TO KNOW ??? Let me hit them with a shovel PLEASE). They are all nice and open now but I hate them even more for that. In season 6 they made a 180° turn, like nothing happened, with Buck and Maddie (my poor Maddie). They deserved at least a harsh slap, they deserved a way meaner treatment. What is it with the Madney family and wanting to introduce to your kid your shitty parents that gave you trauma so she can have "a normal family" ? You mean a family with history of neglect and emotional abuse ? She doesn't need grandparents like that. Sometimes nothing is better. CUT TIES WITH EMOTIONALLY ABUSIVE PARENTS. DO IT. and do like Buck, go see a psychologist. Otherwise they will keep eating at you even after their death. It's like poison.
Damn I love the 118 family. When they all come into frame to help Buck in the fire. Ouch my feelings (with So Far playing in the back, double Ouch)
So much Buddie in those first episodes, unparasited by poitnless love interests (I'm not talking about Tommy), at least until episode 6. Now that my hope is rekindled I fear the disappointment.
Next episode Bobby goes "Hey" at the fake firefighter, the guy runs away and IMMEDIATELY Buck goes "I got it" and start running after the guy, yelling "Hey, I just wanna talk" while the guy tries to escape him. Peak golden Retriever moment. I love him.
That probably makes me a bad person but I'm living for the scene where Buck tells Chris Eddie got shot (a+ acting) and how Buck is barely holding it together, crying while trying to stay strong for Chris and then breaking down once he gets the news Eddie is gonna be fine. He was so scared and is so relieved. And he makes, once again, a GREAT parent. (Also Athena holding that riffle is.... 🤌🏻)
And then Buck does that heroic but reckless crane rescue, being maybe a tiny tiny bit suicidal cause Eddie got shot and it should be him instead, and he is happy about the rescue but then his eyes meet Bobby's and oh nooo, Dad is pissed. I adore the Buck-Bobby dynamic. One had SHITTY parents, the other lost his children, but now here they are having that father-son bound. Those relationship between the characters in the heart of the show and why I keep watching even when all those accidents and calls starts to stress me or make me paranoid.
For MONTHS Eddie was walking around, knowing he wrote Buck into his will like "yeah if I die that man will take care of my son" LIKE BRO. He trusts him with his life but, stronger than that, he trusts him with his son's. And then Eddie gets shot, standing in front of Buck. He doesn't remember anything after hitting the ground but I wonder if he thought about that, about his son and if he was relieved to think Buck would be there for his kid. DUDE. And Buck tells him it would have been better if he was shot instead of Eddie, like he doesn't matter. Buck, who feels worthless unless he is a firefighter, who felt unwanted, is who Eddie choose to look after his son if he dies, the one Eddie is ready to entrust his son's life and happiness to. And Eddie sees him thinking so little of himself. And he is freaking wrong. Pretty much all the 118 fam at some point must have wanted to shake Buck to make him understands he matters A LOT to them. But Buck doesn't believe that yet because of his AWFUL parents. Dang.

My Thoughts on X-Men 97 Episode 5 Remember It
Wow this was a fucking awesome episode, It was so Intense, shocking and emotional and I still haven't gotten over it, even watching it a few times hasn't helped but I do love it. I'm certainly going to remember this episode for a very, very long time.
I was actually planning to watch it on my break at work, but I forgot my iPad and as I didn't want to look at spoilers, I just watch tv and didn't even look on my phone. It was good thing I did watch it when I got home, otherwise I wouldn't been able to concentrate.
Spoilers
I didn't realise how dark this show was going to become, it took me by surprise. I thought the matureness would be a bit less than Young Justice season 3 and 4, I was totally wrong.
I knew that there were multiple massacre and genocide events in the comics. Watching it on TV, especially an animated show, hits you differently than reading it in comics and it mirrors real life tragic events, it was very shocking.
It was such a brilliant well written episode, it delivered some powerful dialogue. The shift in tone worked brilliantly.
Loved the animation, some of it was breath-taking.
The voice acting was brilliant, A.J. LoCascio, Lenor Zann and Matthew Waterson were amazing. Lenor Zann deserves an award.
The score was breath-taking. I loved the Ace of Base song, Happy Nation, it's now stuck in my head. I never even heard this song before, the only 2 songs I know from Ace of Base is, I Saw the Sign and All That She Wants. I've now downloaded this song.
When I rewatch this episode, it makes me sad seeing all these mutants being so happy and free, not knowing about to turn tragic later.
It was great seeing Nightcrawler again, I also liked seeing cameo's of other mutants. Dazzler, Bomb Bomb, Arc Angel, Marrow, Multiple Man ect, (sorry I'm not clear on other mutant names).
So on the council, is Emma Frost, Shaw, Moria, Banshee, Calisto and Madelyne. I just love Emma's bitchy remarks throughout the episode.
Jean kissing Wolverine didn't feel awkward to me, as it does happen in the comics, so I'm not going to make a big deal about it.
I do hope that Jean and Cyclops do sort there issues out, they are my favourite couple. Scott and Maddy's psychic rapport moment was definitely a reference to Scott and Emma's psychic affair in the comics.
I love Beast's reaction, when Scott and Jean were arguing.
I do love that Scott was concerned for Jean when she had that psychic attack.
I like the flashback, how Rogue met Magneto. Luckily it was confirmed, she met him when she was in her 20s.
I do feel for Rogue and can understand what's she's going through, she wants skin to skin contact but can't do that with Gambit.
I do feel sorry for Gambit but he was mature and respected Rogue's decision to be with Magneto.
I didn't notice The Watcher, on the first watch.
I know a lot of people think that Val Cooper is Mystique but unless Wolverine lost his sense of smell in the 1st two episodes, it can't be her.
Very powerful lines:-
Valerie Cooper "Most other nations don't allow a terrorist become their leader" Magneto "Yet so many allow their leaders to be terrorists"
I thought Rogue was really pretty in that dress.
Tumblr media
Magneto and Rogue steamy dance and kiss did feel awkward at first but I got used to it when I watched the episode multiple times.
Rogue realises she loves Gambit and rejects Magneto and she understands what Gambit said to her that 'Some things are deeper than skin'
Ok this is the moment that I knew something bad was going to happen (I didn't notice the Watcher). Madelyne had her psychic attack causing her nose to bleed (and we see Jean's nose was bleeding too). Maddy's vision in the 1st episode was actually foreshadowing this horrific event.
I thought the music being slowed down was a nice touch and felt very haunting.
Great to see Cable again and voiced by Chris Potter, Gambit's voice actor from the original show.
When he said 'not again' does this mean this wasn't the 1st time he's tried to warn everyone about the upcoming attack.
When Madelyne realised Cable is her son and Cable disappears back to the future, saying he was sorry, that was pretty heart-breaking.
Wow that 1st attack, that blast, poor Maddy, she didn't stand a chance.
That blast caused Rogue and Magneto to be thrown quite far out
I just love the animation and sounds when Rogue was regaining consciousness.
I was bit surprised by the amount of blood and cuts on Rogue. Magneto didn't have any injuries at all, until later.
Rogue's and Magneto's reactions was perfect, they were shocked and confused at what was going on, they just stood there watching, you can even here the fear in Rogue's voice when she sees Banshee being vapourised. Kurt had to risk his life to save them.
OMG!! I actually thought Kurt had died, I was relieved that when Gambit checked his pulse, he was still alive.
Rogue, Gambit and Magneto, were absolutely brilliant, Gambit and Magnet were both badass.
When Rogue and Gambit went to save the Morlocks, the score gave me goosebumps. Seeing them side by side was great.
Magneto starts having these flashbacks of death and destruction, including a flashback of the concentration camp, he then goes on a rampage and attacks the Wild Sentinel using a train as a whip.
Gambit saving the Morlocks, was obviously a reference to the Morlock Massacre when he betrayed them but this time he saved them. The music made me think, everything was going to be ok but it was all false hope.
When the wild sentinel detected a omega threat mutant, was that at Leech?
I just love that Magneto protected Gambit and Rogue, used metal debris to cover them.
I just love the way Rogue and Magneto were looking at each other.
Magneto telling Leech 'don't be afraid' in German, was gut wrenching.
I was in shock when Magneto and the Morlocks were vapourised. But I do have a sliver of hope that they might have survived.
Then I see Rogue that I've never seen before, there is no score, just hear a heartbeat.
Tumblr media
She's in tears, full of rage and fury and she wants revenge but she not thinking straight and goes she to attack the Wild Sentinel.
Gambit knows she won't make it and has to save her, he throws his charged up bike into her, to get her out of the way of the Wild Sentinel blast.
The Wild sentinel then targets mutants at the Gardens and Gambit has to save them, so he goes after the wild sentinel but then he's impaled and I almost scream, I was in shock.
What I love about Gambit that he still has his sence of humour and he uses his power to blow up the Wild Sentinel, saving the suvivivors.
Then we cut back to the Mansion with the others watching the events on the news, all in shock.
Then back in Genosha, Rogue is crying and cradling Gambit in her arms, then it fades to black and we hear Rogue say 'I, I can't feel you'. I was in tears.
Tumblr media
Even the end credit score was very sombre
What was even more sadder, is that Rogue never got to tell Gambit, she chose him over Magneto.
I love Rogue, she's one of my favourite female characters (next to Jean) so seeing her like this was heart braking. I hope she will be ok, I'm going to be really worried about her.
I know that a lot Marvel characters don't stay dead, so I do have some hope that Gambit and Magneto ect will be alive by the end of the season, keeping my fingers crossed.
So the death list is Maddy, Banshee, Marrow, Shaw, Moira, Dazzler, Callisto, Gambit and possible Magneto and the other Morlocks. I assume Emma survives using her diamond form.
I do have a feeling that Bastion is responsible for the genocide on Genosha.
This was only the 5th episode!!! and apparently just warm up, something even worse is going to happen in the last 3 episodes. What could be worse than a genocide on Genosh and major character deaths??????
The next episode, Lifedeath part 2 won't be much of breather episode either, apparently it's going to be scary and creepy.
I have to say this episode has dethroned The Red Wedding.
