“Power Rangers Unlimited: Hyperforce” Announced at BOOM! Studios

BOOM! Studios has announced a one-shot featuring the HyperForce Rangers from the TTRPG web-series. Power Rangers Unlimited: Hyperforce #1 hails from writers Melissa Flores and Meghan Camarena (voice of the Pink Ranger in the Hyperforce RPG), artist Federico Sabbatini, and colorist Bryan Valenza.

“Mistress Vile, formerly known as Rita Repulsa, and Dark Specter have invaded the Morphin Grid! HYPERFORCE APPRECIATION POST! It’s been 5 years since my favorite Neo Saban season first premiered. Thought I’d throw some photos up to celebrate. We got 4 of the 6 Rangers together at Power Morphicon this year, and I threw some old photos with the cast and crew from when the show was still airing as well. Just gonna keep twiddling my thumbs, wishing for a season 2 or follow up of some kind to resolve the cliffhanger they left things on.

What I don’t get is there’s that Power Rangers TTRPG they released last year, wouldn’t it make perfect sense to do another season of Hyperforce to demo those rules to a large audience? I’ve even heard Hasbro might be making an alternate Rangers TTRPG using the D&D ruleset, that would be a perfect opportunity too. All I’m saying is the pieces are all there, someone just needs to sign off on it.

Batman: Wayne Family Adventure is a cute little webcomic series that's just meant to be more relaxed and just overall a slice of life.

I feel like an even more interesting thing about it is that in 2021, at some point it even had a 3 Parter live action mini web series of it that was going to be released on Ismahawks' channel on October in that same year.

They even had the cast which goes as follows:

Jonathan Bentley as Bruce Wayne

Lisa Foiles as Barbara Gordon, aka Oracle

Tim Neff as Jason Todd, aka Red Hood

Peter Sudarso as Tim Drake, aka Red Robin

Meghan Camarena as Stephanie Brown aka Spoiler

Gemma Nguyen as Cassandra Cain aka Orphan

Carter Rockwood as Damien Wayne aka Robin

Du-Shaunt ‘Fik-Shun’ Stegall as Duke Thomas aka Signal

Pretty killer cast if I say so myself.

So yeah it honestly seemed like it was already finished and set to go, but there was one problem.

It got cancelled by WB, why? While there's no definite answer there is a theory that this lovely person came up with:

And yeah like it says, any trace of the teaser is all gone, vid is privated most likely will never released, and neither the show will be. I lowkey even feel bad the for the folks working on the show cause it seems like everything that they were working for was all for naught.

While I get that they should've asked for permission, it's lowkey a bummer that it'll never see the light of the day, especially cause I would've been stoked to see a proper Cassandra Cain in live action (looking at you Birds Of Prey).

For now, the most we can look forward about the Batfamily in live action is the upcoming DCU's Brave And The Bold but even I'm not sure about it cause I feel like it's too soon for a batfamily but hey, like I said in my other post, who knows and I might be impressed.

For now tho, let us just continue Wayne Family Adventures as it is, a free webcomic series. Now I feel like drawing Cass ngl.

so.....Hyperforce!

For those of you who don’t know, Hyperforce was a Power Rangers-themed RPG session hosted by Renegade Studios around....2018-ish. They got some pretty notable people - such as the Sudarso brothers, Paul Schrier, Andre the Black Nerd, Christina Vee, and Meghan Camarena - to play the members of an all-new original team of Rangers in an all-new original “season,” typically bringing in a different PR alumni to cameo as their character per episode. The show didn’t manage to greenlight a second season, but it got pretty popular in the fandom, and with Melissa Flores back writing for the comics, it looks like she’s using the opportunity to basically give Hyperforce the second season it missed out on through this event - starting with their own Unlimited one-shot.

My thoughts on this and Hyperforce itself are......mixed. But I’ll wait until the full book is out before I talk about that more. These are just the previews! So let’s talk about the previews

- Hi Chloe you’re looking and acting very Ranger Slayer here. Ranger Slayer.........where is she...........I miss her

- yeah that’s probably a good idea because i am NOT rewatching all of that

- so here’s a pretty decent summary of the first season. I’ll be interested to see how well this book goes over with non-fandom people, because while obviously this fills in what Hyperforce is and where we are now with it, it’s obviously missing the finer details of what made Hyperforce endearing to fans in the first place. But we’ll get to that when we get to that. At the very least this confirms they’re in an alternate dimension/timeline, at least

- Sorry guys but if you involve Jen in this you’re not beating the “this event is just trying to be Shattered Grid 2.0″ allegations

- don’t keep making Ranger Slayer comparisons don’t keep making Ranger Slayer comparisons

- the Battlizer design is still cool though, i’ll give them that.

- I don’t really remember the full context for this since by the end I was kind of burnt out with the show but I’m preeeeeeetty sure the twist is that she’s not really on the bad guys’ side, right. right. because I’m trying SO HARD not to keep making Ranger Slayer comparisons
