🗣️THIS IS WHAT INCLUSIVE, COMPASSIONATE DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Minnesota Dems enacted a raft of laws to make the state a trans refuge, and ensure people receiving trans care here can't be reached by far-right governments in places like Florida and Texas. (link)
Minnesota Dems ensured that everyone, including undocumented immigrants, can get drivers' licenses. (link)
They made public college free for the majority of Minnesota families. (link)
Minnesota Dems dropped a billion dollars into a bevy of affordable housing programs, including by creating a new state housing voucher program. (link)
Minnesota Dems massively increased funding for the state's perpetually-underfunded public defenders, which lets more public defenders be hired and existing public defenders get a salary increase. (link)
Dems raised Minnesota education spending by 10%, or about 2.3 billion. (link)
Minnesota Dems created an energy standard for 100% carbon-free electricity by 2040. (link)
Minnesota already has some of the strongest election infrastructure (and highest voter participation) in the country, but the legislature just made it stronger, with automatic registration, preregistration for minors, and easier access to absentee ballots. (link)
Minnesota Dems expanded the publicly subsidized health insurance program to undocumented immigrants. This one's interesting because it's the sort of things Dems often balk at. The governor opposed it! The legislature rolled over him and passed it anyway. (link)
Minnesota Dems expanded background checks and enacted red-flag laws, passing gun safety measures that the GOP has thwarted for years. (link)
Minnesota Dems gave the state AG the power to block the huge healthcare mergers that have slowly gobbled up the state's medical system. (link)
Minnesota Dems restored voting rights to convicted felons as soon as they leave prison. (link)
Minnesota Dems made prison phone calls free. (link)
Minnesota Dems passed new wage protection rules for the construction industry, against industry resistance. (link)
Minnesota Dems created a new sales tax to fund bus and train lines, an enormous victory for the sustainability and quality of public transit. Transit be more pleasant to ride, more frequent, and have better shelters, along more lines. (link)
They passed strict new regulations on PFAS ("forever chemicals"). (link)
Minnesota Dems passed the largest bonding bill in state history! Funding improvements to parks, colleges, water infrastructure, bridges, etc. etc. etc. (link)
They're going to build a passenger train from the Twin Cities to Duluth. (link)
I can't even find a news story about it but there's tens of millions in funding for new BRT lines, too. (link)
A wonky-but-important change: Minnesota Dems indexed the state gas tax to inflation, effectively increasing the gas tax. (link)
They actually indexed a bunch of stuff to inflation, including the state's education funding formula, which helps ensure that school spending doesn't decline over time. (link)
Minnesota Dems made hourly school workers (e.g., bus drivers and paraprofessionals) eligible for unemployment during summer break, when they're not working or getting paid. (link)
Minnesota Dems passed a bunch of labor protections for teachers, including requiring school districts to negotiate class sizes as part of union contracts. (Yet another @SydneyJordanMN special here. (link)
Minnesota Dems created a state board to govern labor standards at nursing homes. (link)
Minnesota Dems created a Prescription Drug Affordability Board, which would set price caps for high-cost pharmaceuticals. (link)
Minnesota Dems created new worker protections for Amazon warehouse workers and refinery workers. (link)
Minnesota Dems passed a digital fair repair law, which requires electronics manufacturers to make tools and parts available so that consumers can repair their electronics rather than purchase new items. (link)
Minnesota Dems made Juneteenth a state holiday. (link)
Minnesota Dems banned conversion therapy. (link)
They spent nearly a billion dollars on a variety of environmental programs, from heat pumps to reforestation. (link)
Minnesota Dems expanded protections for pregnant and nursing workers - already in place for larger employers - to almost everyone in the state. (link)
Minnesota Dems created a new child tax credit that will cut child poverty by about a quarter. (link)
Minnesota Democrats dropped a quick $50 million into homelessness prevention programs. (link)
And because the small stuff didn't get lost in the big stuff, they passed a law to prevent catalytic converter thefts. (link)
Minnesota Dems increased child care assistance. (link)
Minnesota Dems banned "captive audience meetings," where employers force employees to watch anti-union presentations. (link)
No news story yet, but Minnesota Dems forced signal priority changes to Twin Cities transit. Right now the trains have to wait at intersections for cars, which, I can say from experience, is terrible. Soon that will change.
Minnesota Dems provided the largest increase to nursing home funding in state history. (link)
They also bumped up salaries for home health workers, to help address the shortage of in-home nurses. (link)
Minnesota Dems legalized drug paraphernalia, which allows social service providers to conduct needle exchanges and address substance abuse with reduced fear of incurring legal action. (link)
Minnesota Dems banned white supremacists and extremists from police forces, capped probation at 5 years for most crimes, improved clemency, and mostly banned no-knock warrants. (link)
Minnesota Dems also laid the groundwork for a public health insurance option. (link)
I’m happy for the people of Minnesota, but as a Floridian living under Ron DeSantis & hateful Republicans, I’m also very envious tbh. We know that democracy can work, and this is a shining example of what government could be like in the hands of legislators who actually care about helping people in need, and not pursuing the GOP’s “culture wars” and suppressing the votes of BIPOC, and inflicting maximum harm on those who aren’t cis/het, white, wealthy, Christian males. BRAVO MINNESOTA. This is how you do it! And the Minnesota Dems did it with a one seat majority, so no excuses. Forget about the next election and focus on doing as much good as you can, while you still can. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Rep. Ilhan Omar To Introduce First Bill To Block U.S. Weapons For Israel Since Gaza War Began
The Minnesota Democrat is taking aim at a $320 million package of bomb equipment that the Biden administration wants to provide to Israel's military.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) will this week introduce legislation to disapprove of a multimillion-dollar package of bomb equipment for Israel proposed by the Biden administration, a source familiar with her plans told HuffPost ― posing the first congressional challenge to the U.S.’s policy of uninterrupted and expanding military support for Israel amid its deadly campaign in Gaza. Omar will by Wednesday file a bill known as a “resolution of disapproval” targeting a $320 million sale of gear for precision guidance kits for bombs, the source said, likely with a group of fellow Democratic lawmakers as co-sponsors. If the House of Representatives and the Senate both pass such a resolution, the administration would not be able to transfer the bomb equipment unless President Joe Biden vetoed the bill.

Chisholm is a city located in the heart of Minnesota’s Iron Range that is deeply intertwined with the region’s mining legacy. It’s nestled amidst forests and lakes, and quickly grew over the course of the 19th century alongside the burgeoning iron ore industry.
The city of Chisholm was home to Kaelin Whittaker and her boyfriend, Christopher Warner. The couple had been married before, and shortly after they began dating, they moved in together towards the end of 1996.
Then on the 21st of January, 1998, they welcomed their daughter, LeeAnna Warner, into the world. She was affectionally nicknamed “Beaner” and was a familiar face in the neighbourhood, where she made friends with all of the children. She was known to be outgoing, friendly, and brave. Her parents said that had survival instincts that were quite advanced for her age.
On a typical Saturday morning on June 14, 2003, the family had just returned from scouring the Side Lake Rummage Sale when five-year-old LeeAnna asked if she could go over to her friend’s house just around the corner to play. Her parents told her that she could go, but with the stipulation that she be back home in time for dinner at 5PM.
In the late afternoon, LeeAnna left her home alone barefoot, and walked over to her friend’s home. It was a walk LeeAnna had made numerous times before, but when she arrived this time, nobody was home. One of the neighbour’s saw LeeAnna at the front doorstep, and then saw her turn around and head back in the direction of her own home.
5PM came and went but LeeAnna still hadn’t returned home. Kaelin asked LeeAnna’s half-sister, Karlee, to go and collect her from her friend’s home, assuming she had lost track of time. However, when Karlee arrived, she found that neither LeeAnna nor her friend were there. Karlee widened her search to the neighbourhood but found no trace of her younger sister.
After she returned home without LeeAnna, Kaelin and Christopher rallied neighbours to join their search for their daughter, yet she was nowhere to be found....

Here's another WTH House that looks like it could be another failed Airbnb for sale. Thanks to Curieously for submitting this 1900 cottage in Minneapolis, Minnesota that also refuses to give its address. 3bds, 2ba, $339,900.
Tumblr media
As you enter the sunporch, you notice that unlike the exterior trim, it's painted magenta to match the curious tub & umbrella in the corner.
Tumblr media
Next, enter a gold foyer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the sitting room is a peculiar assortment of chairs with footstools. Also note the one long strand on the ceiling fixture.
Tumblr media
In the very magenta dining room is a table that looks like a cross between a surfboard and an ironing board surrounded by more miscellaneous stools. (I don't know about you, but I find this a little weird.)
Tumblr media
The kitchen, however, is a contrasting stark sterile white. Boom.
Tumblr media
When I first saw the floating toilet paper holder, I thought that you had to pee in the tub, but then I realized that maybe the toilet is across from it and you have to do a "boarding house reach" to get it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, this has to be an Airbnb. Look at the claustrophobic 3 tier bunk in another magenta room with a view of the kitchen.
Tumblr media
So, here we are on the 2nd fl. landing.
Tumblr media
Why do they like little lamps on high cabinets? This one is connected by a wire that guests can trip over. More magenta, but this time combined with diaper diarrhea green and teal.
Tumblr media
This room has a bed so close to the ceiling, I would hit my head, just to accommodate a little reading nook.
Tumblr media
Office. I don't think that those are the files of all the guests. Can't be.
Tumblr media
The patio is kind of depressing. Definitely another Airbnb for sale.

I have indie tabletop RPGs for sale on my store!!
I designed all of them and illustrated most of them. ☺️
If you make a purchase, don't miss the deals section!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
In addition to selling the tabletop RPGs I made, my store also has notebooks, shirts, hats, and prints inspired by my games and illustrations!
Here's a little about the games I made! 👇
What Crooked Roots
This best-selling encounter book features custom illustrations and thought-provoking folk-horror scenarios to put in front of your players. While it’s designed for a generic fantasy 5e setting, most of the encounters use few mechanics and are easily adaptable to other settings.
Clean Spirit
This is a 3-5 player GM-less dwelling and relationship building game. Perfect to plug into your current campaign or to play as a standalone, Clean Spirit is a setting agnostic game that helps your group explore the space you live while learning more about each other’s characters.
Tangled Blessings
This is a 1-2 player magical school horror game that doesn’t require a GM. Using tarot cards, you’ll take on the role of a student supposedly destined for greatness. Find out which house you belong to, meet your rival, and avoid curses and ghosts as you study for your final exam before graduation.
The Sticker Game
This audio drama journaling game won Most Innovative from the Indie Groundbreakers and Best Family Podcast from Minnesota Webfest. It’s difficult to describe this absurdist yet meaningful experience, but if you or someone you know has a growing sticker collection and no where satisfying to use it, this is the game for you.
Carved by the Garden
My newest work is inspired by my time growing up at the end of a dead-end road in the woods. I did all the illustrations as well as wrote the haunting prompts. It’s a single-player journaling game based on the Wretched and Alone System.

The rest of last weekend I spent in Chicago.
I went there to visit my college roommate, Ross. We've known each other since freshman year of college, back in the fall of 1984 -- 40 years of friendship!
Friday afternoon I drove to to the city. Normally I experience horrendous traffic there, pretty much after crossing from Wisconsin to Illinois. Someone smiled upon me this time, because the midday Friday traffic was smooth on the highways.
Things got aggressive on city streets. Twice I saw people driving over a double yellow line, directly at me, as they wanted to make a left turn without waiting for traffic.
GPS warns me of Chicago's red light and radar cameras. At times I wonder if Chicagoans don't have to pay tickets they get in the mail, because I thought I was going to get rear-ended simply for obeying the speed limit and stopping at red lights. No one with Land of Lincoln plates seems to worry about traffic tickets.
Ross had game tickets to a Blackhawks game Saturday night. The team did poorly, but I enjoyed hanging out with him and watching the game.
Tumblr media
I like walking through his neighborhood and looking at houses. My own home in Minnesota has a fireplace made of Chicago Brick. After the Great Chicago Fire, bricks from destroyed buildings were re-used in new home construction. It would be fascinating to me if there was a way to find out what Chicago building my bricks came from.
The Lincoln Square business area is a favorite of mine. I had arrived in the city before Ross was done working for the week. So I made my usual tour of that area on foot.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars I'd like to try. Saturday morning Ross and his wife took me out for coffee at a neat little shop with an airplane theme. Check out that booth made from airline seats and aircraft aluminum. The trash bins were re-purposed airliner serving carts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was mushroom coffee on the menu. I'd heard of it before, but never tried it. So I ordered a cup of "Morning Mud" which is mushroom coffee and some sort of mushroom extract. It tasted earthy. I don't know that it made me healthier but the coffee had caffeine. I'd give it another try sometime.
Ross and his wife picked up the tab, so I also grabbed a can of seltzer, two croissants, and a large assortment of essential oil soaps that were for sale in the attached gift shop.
The coffee shop had two "unvested service dogs." One was quite comfortable sitting in customers' laps.
Tumblr media
Throughout my stay Ross and I hung out, had martinis and pizza, talked politics and current events, and relaxed. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Trans YA Books for Your 2023 TBR Pile
The last time there was a big B&N sale, I knew I had to stock up on some YA books -- and as I was sifting through my frankly absurdly long to-be-read list, I realized that there were more than a few YA books centering trans and BIPOC characters. I was so excited by this, and hope there are even more books centering BIPOC trans characters in 2024. For now, here are 5 trans YA books -- available now! -- that you should bump up to the very top of your TBR:
Venom & Vow by Anna-Marie McLemore and Elliott McLemore Keep your enemy closer. Cade McKenna is a transgender prince who’s doubling for his brother. Valencia Palafox is a young dama attending the future queen of Eliana. Gael Palma is the infamous boy assassin Cade has vowed to protect. Patrick McKenna is the reluctant heir to a kingdom, and the prince Gael has vowed to destroy.
Cade doesn’t know that Gael and Valencia are the same person. Valencia doesn’t know that every time she thinks she’s fighting Patrick, she’s fighting Cade. And when Cade and Valencia blame each other for a devastating enchantment that takes both their families, neither of them realizes that they have far more dangerous enemies.
Lark & Kasim Start a Revolution by Kacen Callender From National Book Award–winner Kacen Callender, a contemporary YA that follows Lark's journey to speak the truth and discover how their own self-love can be a revolution
Lark Winters wants to be a writer, and for now that means posting on their social media accounts––anything to build their platform. When former best friend Kasim accidentally posts a thread on Lark's Twitter declaring his love for a secret, unrequited crush, Lark's tweets are suddenly the talk of the school—and beyond. To protect Kasim, Lark decides to take the fall, pretending they accidentally posted the thread in reference to another classmate. It seems like a great idea: Lark gets closer to their crush, Kasim keeps his privacy, and Lark's social media stats explode. But living a lie takes a toll—as does the judgment of thousands of Internet strangers. Lark tries their best to be perfect at all costs, but nothing seems good enough for the anonymous hordes––or for Kasim, who is growing closer to Lark, just like it used to be between them . . . In the end, Lark must embrace their right to their messy emotions and learn how to be in love.
Self-Made Boys: A Great Gatsby Remix by Anna-Marie McLemore Stonewall Honor recipient and two-time National Book Award Longlist selectee Anna-Marie McLemore weaves an intoxicating tale of glamor and heartbreak in Self-Made Boys: A Great Gatsby Remix, part of the Remixed Classics series.
New York City, 1922. Nicolás Caraveo, a 17-year-old transgender boy from Minnesota, has no interest in the city’s glamor. Going to New York is all about establishing himself as a young professional, which could set up his future—and his life as a man—and benefit his family.
Nick rents a small house in West Egg from his 18-year-old cousin, Daisy Fabrega, who lives in fashionable East Egg near her wealthy fiancé, Tom—and Nick is shocked to find that his cousin now goes by Daisy Fay, has erased all signs of her Latina heritage, and now passes seamlessly as white. Nick’s neighbor in West Egg is a mysterious young man named Jay Gatsby, whose castle-like mansion is the stage for parties so extravagant that they both dazzle and terrify Nick. At one of these parties, Nick learns that the spectacle is all for the benefit of impressing a girl from Jay’s past—Daisy. And he learns something else: Jay is also transgender.
As Nick is pulled deeper into the glittery culture of decadence, he spends more time with Jay, aiming to help his new friend reconnect with his lost love. But Nick's feelings grow more complicated when he finds himself falling hard for Jay's openness, idealism, and unfounded faith in the American Dream.
The Wicked Bargain by Gabe Cole Novoa El Diablo is in the details in this Latinx pirate fantasy starring a transmasculine nonbinary teen with a mission of revenge, redemption, and revolution.
On Mar León-de la Rosa's 16th birthday, el Diablo comes calling. Mar is a transmasculine nonbinary teen pirate hiding a magical ability to manipulate fire and ice. But their magic isn't enough to reverse a wicked bargain made by their father and now el Diablo has come to collect his payment: the soul of Mar's father and the entire crew of their ship.
When Mar is miraculously rescued by the sole remaining pirate crew in the Caribbean, el Diablo returns to give them a choice: give up your soul to save your father by the Harvest Moon or never see him again. The task is impossible--Mar refuses to make a bargain and there's no way their magic is any match for el Diablo. Then, Mar finds the most unlikely allies: Bas, an infuriatingly arrogant and handsome pirate -- and the captain's son; and Dami, a genderfluid demonio whose motives are never quite clear. For the first time in their life, Mar may have the courage to use their magic. It could be their only redemption -- or it could mean certain death.
Transmogrify!: 14 Fantastical Tales of Trans Magic edited by g. haron davis Transness is as varied and colorful as magic can be. In Transmogrify!, you’ll embark on fourteen different adventures alongside unforgettable characters who embody many different genders and expressions and experiences—because magic is for everyone, and that is cause for celebration.

little slice of heaven | life with otis
summary; today of all days, they know he’s their little piece of heaven.
warnings; this talks about parental death, more specifically Brock’s dad, Duke. If that makes you uncomfortable please don’t read.
-
This year was a write off, you’d decided.
It was horrible from the off set and throughout. To go from last off season getting married and buying your first home to this one, spent by your father in law’s bedside. You’d spent the first half of the year facing issue after issue with your house build and receiving time after time, negative pregnancy tests.
You weren’t even in Minnesota when it happened. You were in Vancouver closing on your house sale, Brock told you he wanted to be at home in case.
He didn’t say anything on the phone, he just cried.
“I’m coming baby, just hold tight”
The day of the funeral was quiet, nobody spoke much and you didn’t blame them.
Getting back to the house where it was just family felt nice, everyone in there was grieving the same.
You’d been feeling off all day, dizzy and sick.
“How’re you feeling my love?” You mumble, kissing his shoulder and sitting down next to him.
“Numb I guess, Petey called”
“Yeah he asked me how you were, said he’s sorry he couldn’t come on time” you smile, holding his hand “Im sometimes worried he’s more of your wife than I am”
He chuckles, the first time you’d heard him laugh in a while.
“I Just… it doesn’t feel real that he’s not going to be here for things like my first cup? Our first child” he deflates and you can only run his hand soothingly
“I know baby, I’m so sorry”
“He should be here you know? I know we’ve been dealing with the negative tests and I’m so proud of you for your resilience. He was so happy for us and he won’t be here to see it when it’s finally a good result”
You couldn’t say anything, there was nothing to make that feel better.
Later that night, just before bed in the bathroom you were watching your face and looking for a towel. You pulled open the cupboards and a box fell out.
An unused pregnancy test lay at your feet. You looked at it and thought about when you’d last taken one. Deciding to just use it, the answer would be the same but a little bit of hope never hurt.
You’d used it, say it to the side and forgotten about it. Shutting off the lights and heading to bed.
Middle of the night, Milo had jumped onto the bed and woken Brock up so he decided to go to the bathroom while he was awake.
He saw it sitting there, confused he picked it up to throw it away before looking
pregnant
He dropped it, completely shocked. Forgetting the reason he was originally in the bathroom he walked back out to the bed and shook you awake.
You groaned “What? If the house isn’t burning leave me alone”
He smirked “You really thought you could get away with not telling me you’re pregnant?”
Your eyes shot open “I’m what?”
He looks equally as confused “You didn’t know? Who’s test is that?”
It dawned on you then “In the bathroom? Show me!”
He went in and emerged with it, you were now sitting up and grabbed it. Tears immediately filled your eyes “Oh my god”
You gave your husband a watery smile “We’re pregnant”
Brock engulfed you in a hug, peppering kisses all over your face “I love you, I love you! We’re having a baby, our baby!”
Laying there, staring out the window for the next few hours was bliss. His hand rested on your belly until you fell asleep.
When the sun began to rise and he could hear you snoring softly, his hand still hadn’t moved.
“Thanks, Dad” he mumbled, looking out of the window and towards the sun rising above the trees.
otis duke boeser
february 11th, 2023
He was early, but right on time.
Holding Otis as the Boeser’s filed into the room you smiled at the family fawning over him “Oh my he’s beautiful y/n”
“He is, isn’t he?”
“He picked some day to be born, eh?” Brock’s brother laughs.
“Yeah, Happy Birthday Duke and Happy Birthday Otis”

Benefits Of Hiring A Real Estate Agent For Home Buying
We are all aware that looking online for your future home is a possibility, but when the time comes to actually buy Homes for sale in Roseville mn, working with a real estate agent may be incredibly helpful. An agent will take the time to help you select the appropriate house in order to get you started on the path to home ownership.
Tumblr media
Find the real estate agent who best fits your personality and will help you acquire everything you need from your future property by making your choice among the millions of real estate agents to find a House for sale in Minnesota.
The top benefits listed below will convince you that it is in your best interest to hire a real estate agent while looking for House for sale North Branch.
YOU'LL GET A BETTER PRICE FROM THEM
You can get the best value for your money when buying a home by working with a real estate agent. They are there to assess if a home is priced fairly for the area in which it is located or whether it is excessively high or low. Your Realtor wants you to spend your purchase price wisely so you may benefit from the financial benefits of home ownership. A Realtor who specializes in real estate is knowledgeable about the worth of various facilities and how they will affect your budget over time. The finest feature is that your agent will watch out for overcharging you for your home or the neighborhood it's in.
YOU'LL SAVE TIME WITH THEM
If you have ever begun your home search at the computer, you are well aware of how long this process may take. It can be a time-consuming, never-ending game to find a house. Once an agent is aware of the specifics of what you are looking for in a property, they can attempt to eliminate any listings that don't meet your needs. In order to save them time, agents frequently represent their buyers at open houses and other gatherings. Working with a real estate agent is the greatest way to steer clear of viewing properties that are simply not a good fit for you.
Tumblr media
THEY OWN A PROFESSIONAL NETWORK INSIDE
The real estate professional network is distinct from other business networks you may be familiar with. Brokers in the real estate industry frequently talk about properties with one another and discover hidden gems in the process. Because it is not an inner network of people you are likely to move in the same circles with, having access to that network will be very helpful in your efforts to buy a home. Inquire with your agent if they are a part of any relevant professional real estate associations for your transaction.

Minnesota's Democratic Governor, Tim Walz, today reiterated his promise to sign a marijuana legalization bill that arrived at his desk on Saturday. That will make Minnesota, which legalized medical marijuana in 2014, the 23rd state to allow recreational use.
The Minnesota House and Senate, both of which are controlled by Democrats, had previously approved slightly different legalization bills. H.F. 100, which both chambers passed last week, reconciles those differences.
Adults 21 or older will be allowed to possess two ounces or less of marijuana in public, share that amount with other adults, keep two pounds or less at home, and grow up to eight plants, four of which are mature. Those provisions take effect on August 1.
The bill also establishes an Office of Cannabis Management to license and regulate commercial production and distribution. Marijuana products will be subject to a 10% retail tax, in addition to standard state and local sales taxes (which total about 8% in Minneapolis, for example). Local governments will be allowed to regulate retailers and cap their number but will not be allowed to ban them entirely. Rep. Zack Stephenson (DFL–Coon Rapids), a co-author of the bill, said licensed sales should begin in 12 to 18 months.
Cannabis consumption initially will be limited to private residences. But the law eventually will allow marijuana use at specially licensed businesses and events.
Driving under the influence of marijuana will remain illegal. But Minnesota does not have a per se standard that makes a driver automatically guilty based on THC in his blood. Its law requires evidence of impairment.
H.F. 100 eliminates some marijuana offenses and downgrades others. It requires automatic expungement of misdemeanor marijuana possession records, a process that the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says may take until August 2024 to complete. The bill creates a review board to consider resentencing of people with marijuana felony records.
A recent SurveyUSA poll found that 64% of Minnesota voters support marijuana legalization, including 81% of Democrats and 49% of Republicans. That is similar to the national breakdown among American adults that Gallup reported last fall.
"The system that we have right now is not working," state Sen. Lindsey Port (DFL–Burnsville) said before the vote on the marijuana bill in her chamber, where she was the lead sponsor. "The best way that we can protect our kids from access to cannabis is by legalizing and regulating."

Possible Ghost Photo Captured in Minnesota Home for Sale
A home for sale in St. Cloud, Minnesota is a nice, older home but beware, it may be haunted. There was possibly a ghost caught on camera!
Do you see it? This is a living area at the front of the house and if you look at the right side of the photo... is that a ghost?!

Minnesota's Most Expensive Home, On Sale For Almost $12.5 Million
Woodland Glen, a country estate sitting on nearly 3.5 acres overlooking Lake Minnetonka, is the priciest home in Minnesota. Built in 1988 and measuring almost 20,000 square feet, the place — listed for $12.49 million — boasts six bedrooms and a rather excessive 12 bathrooms.
The home's luxurious furnishings include a grand twin staircase, coffered ceilings, marble floors, a decked-out kitchen and a (again, excessive) dozen fireplaces.
Elsewhere in the giant house, there's a personal movie theater, a bar, a game room and an impressively sized indoor lap pool. And because no rich person's home is complete without a tennis court, there's one sat lakeside with enviable views of the water. This place has twelve fireplaces. Twelve.

Behold, my gardening white whale- one of the rarest berries on earth, the cloudberry. This subarctic dwarf raspberry will happily tolerate not only the frigid winters of Minnesota (it's actually native to the northernmost bits of my state) AND the highly acidic soil we've inherited.
It's said to have a flavor like a cross between a raspberry, a mango, apricot and passionfruit, but a bit sour eaten fresh. The fruit is so soft and delicate that they're nearly impossible to ship or sell as fresh fruit. This means they are ideal for, and highly sought after for, jams and jellies.
If you've never heard of them before it's likely because they do NOT lend themselves to farming. For one thing, you have to have both male and female plants, nearby one another. AND it takes years for the plant to reach fruiting maturity- which means you don't know whether any given plant is male or female for years after planting it. To top it off, these little plants aren't heavy producers- growing between 1 and 20 berries per year. Compare that to my raspberries which we were practically drowning in by year 3.
But just look at them.

Just little bitty 8-12" video-game-looking fruit.
And I mean they're called CLOUD berries. I live in Stormbrew House. My name is Brontide. Come on. I need them!
The barriers are these:
Water. These little guys love peat bogs. I don't have any peat. And thanks to Climate change our summers keep getting dryer and dryer. The one thing I can think is if I dig a trench near one of the roof gutter spouts- I've seen people do that to have a bit of wetlands in their yard, so maybe?
They are incredibly difficult to get ahold of! They're a threatened species in MN, and they aren't farmed. Supposedly, even in Scandinavia where they're the most plentiful the location of well-developed cloudberry communities is a family secret passed down through generations. You CAN buy seeds online, but this is a rhizome plant. It's gonna grow way better via rhizome than seed. They're notoriously finicky seeds, and tbh I'm not great at seeds at the best of times. And I can't find rhizomes or cuttings for sale. Even if I did, would they be illegally harvested? It's a conundrum.
So, my dream may or may not ever come to pass. But I live in hope.
I am very open to suggestions.

"I don't have any money left, but I don't have anything less than I had before," he added. "I had a pickup truck and a house I live in, and that's it. I don't drive around and eat with two forks, okay?" Does anybody have any forks left to give? All the backstory is that Mike Lindell had a drug problem. And.....got over it...... Well, good on him. But for years he has been on camera shouting that in two weeks he will present devastating evidence. Of a thing. A nebulous thing. Meanwhile use code SILLY to get 67% off MyPillow. Or MySlipper. In the dusty barrens of news from last year you might find that Mike Lindell held a yard sale for most of his equipment. And the evvy-dents? Nope. Even got served a court order to pay $5,000,000 to the guy who showed his data dump was a dump. ETTD It's like 2/3 of forever to November, but I will be there.
