Prompt 187
Clockwork would openly admit that he couldn’t see Danny’s timelines. Not since the moment he stepped into that portal and became something more. A child of Infinity, of the very Realms itself.
But he’ll also admit that it always meant that the child surprised him all the time. This just happened to be a startling surprise, and an admittedly amusing one, even if Danny was openly complaining about the situation.
“It’s not fair! You have to be able to fix this, right? Right?!” the ghostling, quite literally now, practically yanked at his cloak. “Clockwork, I was going to graduate, I can’t be two! Please, you’re the master of Time, you can fix this right!?”
No, no he could not, seeing as young Daniel was in fact, immune to timeline machinations, doubly so for his own. To the ghostling’s open distress, which he did his best to soothe. What he could do instead, was stop time in his home dimension, and instead let him age back up again.
Which the young halfa wasn’t happy about, but it was the best thing they had, so Clockwork supposed he had a ghostling now. A tiny adorable ghostling who kept pouting each time his much younger body had any sort of effect on his behavior.
He’d never exactly had a ghostling before, nevermind one who was part human, but he would admit he honestly was enjoying it. Most time was spent alone, something he hadn’t realized until Danny ended up crashing into his unlife.
Honestly he would openly admit that he absolutely adored his little ghostling. Who was now around four, at least physically, and had gotten into the adorable habit of curling up in the pendulum in his chest. Which was honestly the safest spot in Long Now, he’d admit.
The singular issue however, with this habit, was that when someone attempted to summon him, they got his ghostling as well. And well, normally he could very much control himself for these summonings that happened every few hundred or so years, but well. There was a reason why even the Observants had stopped popping in the moment they realized he had a ghostling.
Nesting ghosts do not mess around should they feel one is messing with their very vulnerable child, and really it’s not his fault the mortal cultists woke up and startled Danny. Perhaps deleting them from the timeline was a bit too far, if the other mortals rapid paling was to go by, but oh well.

Why does every smart person in fallout new Vegas put themselves in a “I have no mouth and I must scream” situation. The Think Tank, Mr. House, Hildern with the spores…
It’s like they value their minds over their bodies only to regret it later or eventually become disillusioned with being just a mind. This isn’t even exclusive to Fallout NV but it’s so prominent in the game of people willingly augmenting their bodies only to outlast the end times only to realize what they tried to preserve isn’t there anymore.

Have you got a design for Pryce and/or Cutter yet? :0
Not really! But using this ask as an opportunity to try my hand at some first draft ideas :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I still don’t know much about Pryce yet !! So her design might be subject to change. Cutter’s design takes some inspiration from my buddy @duskgryphon <:]

It took me a long time to realize this because, but the conversation between Lady Catherine and Elizabeth is rude, but for the most part, Lady C is not wrong.
“Why did not you all learn? You ought all to have learned. The Miss Webbs all play, and their father has not so good an income as yours. Do you draw?”
“No governess! How was that possible? Five daughters brought up at home without a governess! I never heard of such a thing. Your mother must have been quite a slave to your education.”
“All! What, all five out at once? Very odd! And you only the second. The younger ones out before the elder are married! Your younger sisters must be very young?”
Yes! They all should have learned and they probably should have had a governess. Especially Lydia and Kitty. The other heroines without a governess (Catherine Morland, possibly the Dashwoods) do have very attentive parents who manage their education. The Bennets don’t have dowries, they could at the very least be educated. It’s far less expensive.
And yes! It’s insane to have five daughters out at once. Even if we just look at it from a financial standpoint, that means five girls need ballgowns and adornment all at once. Families usually put only one or two girls out because of the prohibitive expense. And then we have of course the fact that Lydia is probably too young to be out anyway.
Elizabeth defends her family’s choices, kind of, or at least gives an explanation, but not allowing her family to be dragged through the mud is different than saying her upbringing was correct. And even if she kind of agrees with her family’s justification now, she certainly realizes how devastating these choices were later.
And yet, because Jane Austen is so clever, Lady Catherine is still a rude idiot. A good deal of what she says even during this conversation is ridiculous and condescending. But that is the genius of Austen, she sets up this argument so you get on Elizabeth’s side, even though Elizabeth is wrong. Which is the same as with Caroline Bingley’s warning about Wickham, we discount it because we dislike her and she sneers, but in her speech is the truth.
It’s a nice parallel with Darcy’s first proposal. He’s not wrong, but he is still a rude, condescending jerk about it.

Really hoping next episodes we have Bertha shove Marian Larry's way because she refuses to have a woman her age be her daughter in law.
Also, a few jokes on Larry having a thing for older women from turner/mrs winterton's part. She must have so much tea to spill

Seeing the child staring at Nora, Victor sighed, massaging his brows, once he noticed the familiar features. Picking her up by the hood, he started walking outside his base, ignoring the pouting look the young girl had.
Tumblr media
Victor wonders how excited Nora would be having 2 children under their care, a 3rd if you ignore the fact they're in university. She would've teased him, after all, he always did have a habit of picking up strays in his younger years. (Grew fond of them quickly too, and it seems this transferred over to his new situation... Not that he'll complain, of course. It's nice to have company again that wasn't just Nora.)
