Since I managed to predict five or six Wildcard games correctly and therefore already broke down all but one of the Divisional Round matchups in my preview of the full 2023 playoffs (LINK!!), I decided to once again put together my all-rookie team at this point, where I fill out a full starting lineup of 11 offensive and defensive players each, along with a group of four specialists. I listed…

Her heart broke as soon as the Chiefs got their last first down, but in reality she knew from the moment that Moody had to kick the field goal that the game was over. She had hopes, of course, for their defense, but she knew. She had wished she was at home, able to turn off the TV to hide the disappointed look on Brock’s face, but she couldn’t. She grabbed tightly onto Kristin’s hand, tears glistening in both of their eyes. The two watched in mock horror as Hardman caught the ball, Chiefs fans erupting in cheers.
Niners fans sat, or stood, in shock as the people around them hugged and laughed with one another. They felt numb, eyes completely unfocused from the scene in front of them. Some fans ran their hands over their faces, through their hair, and under their eyes. Some fans stared angrily at the Chiefs fans, they had no right to win.
Kristin wrapped her friend into a hug, unable to stop her tears as well. Y/n had been with Brock through it all, through high school, through college, through his draft, through his rookie season, through everything. All she wanted for him was to win this game. He didn’t deserve this, he had done nothing to prove himself time after time again, and now he was going to be shit on because he didn’t make a third down conversion.
She pulled away and toyed with the band around her finger, their anniversary date engraved on the inside. Her hand moved to her necklace next as she stole a glance down at the field, feeling the outline of the 13 on her fingers. Brock was walking off the field and she couldn’t see his face but she knew what it looked like. It wasn’t a face she liked to see, it made her cry silently at night while Brock slept next to her or if he was across the country.
She hadn’t felt so infuriated when they announced who the Super Bowl MVP was, she wanted to yell at all the Chiefs fans around them, tell them that it was just a bit of dumb luck. She wanted to scream at them for thinking that they were everything when they weren’t, for thinking about no one but themselves. She had come from a family who experienced heartbreak in sports like no other, did they know how that felt? To watch their team lose? To watch the love of their life lose and think that he wasn’t good enough? Listen to him deteriorate himself with thought after thought? Did anyone stop to think about the players, their families, their fans? She wanted to scream at fans who didn’t care about the game, the ones who were there to see Taylor and her alone. She wanted to yell at the fans who mocked the niners, the ones who cursed at them, the ones who gave them shit. She wanted to yell at everyone and everything.
Tears streamed down her face and not once did she even attempt to wipe them off. She walked with Kristin out of the suite, holding each other’s hands in support. She could feel people’s eyes on her but she couldn’t care less, was she not allowed to be devastated for her fiancé? She knew Brock wouldn’t want to see her right now, he was too caught up in his own thoughts. She waited patiently outside Allegiant Stadium, hands shoved in her jean jacket Kristin had made for her.
When she noticed Brock walking towards her, she made sure that she stood strong, not letting him see how upset she was. He reached her in a matter of five seconds, instantly bringing her into a hug. She felt her shoulder dampen, sighing internally. He didn’t let out many tears, just a few, before he pulled back and wiped his eyes, “You ready?”
She placed a frown on her face and nodded, reaching for his hand, “Hotel, home, dinner?”
“Hotel please.” He gripped tightly to his hand and they made their way to a hotel room they had booked. They didn’t want to stay with the rest of the team no matter the outcome of the game.
She drove to the hotel, knowing how Brock got when he was angry or upset. His left hand was attached to her left, not letting it go for a second besides when they got in the car. Her gaze shifted between him and the road, trying not to crash in the meantime. Every time she snuck a glance at him, he looked sadder than before. She could see him fidgeting with some of her rings that she had on along with the bracelet he had gotten her when they won the Championship.
When she pulled into the parking spot, the two stayed there, sitting in silence. As the minutes passed, she started to get nervous about how the night was going to go. If she was going to be able to get him to take a shower, to eat, to sleep. She heard him sniffle, it was quiet but still audible for her, You wanna go up?”
He nodded, not trusting his voice to talk. They once again detached their hands for a brief second before they reconnected. As they entered the room, she realized how much of a mess she left it in the morning. She went to apologize but Brock locked himself in the bathroom. Then she heard the shower turning on, the water hitting the floor. She could only hope that he was going to be quick.
She changed out of her game clothes into one of the outfits she brought for lounging around. She listened as Brock showered, the water calming her nerves a little. She didn’t turn the TV on, didn’t put music on, just sat and stared as she waited. A couple of minutes later she heard something fall, and ran to go see what it was, “Brock, honey, are you okay?”
She got no response back and she sighed, attempting to open the door. He must’ve unlocked it from the time she walked away until now. She walked in and saw Brock curled up into a ball on the ground, his suit still on. She wrapped him tightly in her arms, not wanting to let go. She buried his head into her shoulder, placing his hands on her arms that rested around his shoulders and on his chest. His sobs were violent, mumbling incoherent words and noises.
If her heart could break anymore it would, she thought it could’ve shattered right there and then. His breathing grew heavy, unable to control it anymore. He clawed at her arms as a way to let her know it was hurting, “Hey, I’m here. It’s okay, baby.”
She kissed his head, moving one of her hands to run through his hair. He shook his head, not believing a single thing. When he had regained a bit of control he whispered out to her, “It hurts, y/n/n.”
She had to hold back tears, blinking them away as quickly as possible, “I know, sweetheart. It’s okay, we’re okay. I’m right here with you. You don’t have to do it alone.”
Eventually, his breathing evened out as he clung to her, listening to her heartbeat. When she heard the way his breathing regulated, she ran a hand over his chain, the one that had her initials on it,”I’ll always be here for you, okay?”
He nodded before she spoke again, “You want me to shower with you?”
“Please.” His voice came out desperate and a little squeaky from the crying and lack of use.
She helped him up, taking his suit jacket off and hanging up in the closet of the room. When she came he had already discarded the rest of his suit, handing it over to her.

After Brock had slipped his sweatpants back on, they both sat in the bed, covers pulled over their legs. Y/n looked through her phone for restaurants nearby, “What do you want to eat?”
He shrugged, not particularly hungry at the time. He knew that she would give him a hassle if he didn’t say anything though, “Pizza?”
It was simple enough, both of them liked it and it was an easy thing to find. She nodded in response, going to place the order. They watched whatever was on TV, avoiding anything to do with football entirely. However, with it being Super Bowl Sunday there were no other sports on besides reruns. So they found a crappy TV show to watch, both of them criticizing it as they ate their pizza.
As the sun went down and darkness settled behind it, they lay in bed Brock asking to hold her. She agreed happily, whatever would make him feel better. His right arm flung over her as they laid on their left sides, his hand tracing patterns into her forearm. It was silent for a while, they could both hear the AC blowing softly.
Brock’s mind was racing with all sorts of thoughts. The good ones were primarily outweighed by the happy ones, not allowing him for even a second to be happy with his girl in his arms. He couldn’t help the thoughts that told him that he wasn’t good enough, that blamed him for the outcome of the game, that told him he shouldn’t be in the NFL, he was just a fluke.
He tightened his grasp on her as the thoughts kept coming and coming, “Brock?”
“Hmm?”
“What are you thinking back there?”
“Nothing.”
“Uh huh, sure. Now what’s really going on?”
“What if I am just as everyone says? What if I am just a pretty boy football player? A fluke? It’s my fault, it’s all my fault. I failed, y/n. I failed myself, I failed the coaches, I failed my teammates, I failed their families, I failed the fans. I failed you.”
She couldn’t take it anymore, the weight that he was carrying was unnecessary, it was too much for him. He did everything he could and more. She turned around, facing him as she looked dead in her eyes, “You listen to me, Brock Purdy. You are fucking amazing. You shouldn’t care what anyone else says, because you know what? They don’t matter. They don’t matter now and they won’t matter when you’re older.
“I get that everyone was banking on you to lead them to a victory and you led them to the best of your ability. You can’t blame yourself for the defense not holding them off, you can’t blame yourself for any penalty that may have happened, and you can’t blame yourself for not getting that third-down conversion. You did your best today, Brock, and I am so so so proud of you for that.”
“But what if my best isn’t good enough?”
“Isn’t good enough for who? For me? For Shanahan? For the team? You are good enough, Brock. You were the fucking 262 pick and you made the Super Bowl in your second year. You had 1387 yards in 9 games for a rookie. You had 4424 yards this year! And just in the  regular season. You are the fifth overall quarterback right now, you know how fucking amazing that is. You are beyond believable, Brock.
“And this might be harsh but so what you didn’t win this year? It’s your second year and just making it this far was incredible. Yes, it would’ve been cool if you won and got MVP but you have so many more years to do that. It might not be today, it might not be next year or the year after that, but one year you will go out and win that because you deserve it.”
Brock’s eyes watered, caught off guard by her speech. He couldn’t even think of how lucky he was to have her at this moment. The way she had memorized his stats, the way she knew how he felt before he even knew, the way she was able to comfort him when he thought there was no coming back from it.
He kissed her head, “I love you.”
“I love you too, baby.”
He reached for her left hand and twisted the ring on her finger, “I can’t wait to marry you.”
They shared a smile and then she was pulled in tighter to him, “Thank you.”
“For?”
“For always being there for me. Through high school, college, the draft, rookie season, everything. You mean so much to me, more than you would ever know.”

A little earlier in the F2 season, we caught up with Williams Racing Academy Driver Logan Sargeant.
Wanting to get to know him just a little bit better, and with a big date in Austin now on the horizon, we tasked him with answering 22 questions about racing and life in general.
Here’s what he had to say…
What race day rituals do you have?
If weekends are going well, I tend to stick with the same underwear for each day. Before you worry, they’re different pairs! I have a Friday, Saturday, Sunday set. But if it’s not going well, I have to make a change!
What's your go-to coffee order?
Latte, but it's a double espresso before quali.
What's the inspiration behind your racing number?
This year it’s six because I can’t choose in F2, but when I am allowed to pick, it would be No3. Three for Dale Earnhardt, an all-out American hero.
Your favourite drink?
I’ve only just turned 21… but it’s water, of course.
If you had to cook one main course to impress a loved one, what would it be?
Oooo… I’m not much of a cook, but I can tell you what I would order in! I love a good prime rib.
What’s your favourite film?
Love the Jump Streets, but I’ve got a lot of time for Step Brothers. But if I had to choose out of the two, I’d go Jump Streets. I suppose I have to choose which one?! But 21 and 22 are both pretty good. Ah, I can’t decide.
Who is the toughest rival you've come up against so far?
It’s got to be the battle in Formula 3 between myself and Oscar Piastri.
Your favourite cheat meal?
Fortunately I have a quick metabolism, so they come relatively often… my American roots mean it would have to be a nice, juicy burger.
How many attempts did it take to pass your driving test?
Just one, which is apparently pretty rare for racing drivers! That’s including the practical and the theory.
Which track are you most looking forward to in 2022?
It’s got to be Monaco, but I’m looking forward to seeing the F1 team in Miami.
You can choose one song only to listen to before a race, what is it?
Lose Yourself - Eminem.
Is there one circuit not on your calendar that you'd love to race at?
Obviously it’s either Miami or Austin; to have a home race would be amazing. That said, I’d love to race at Suzuka some day.
Who is your favourite sports team outside of F1?
Anything Miami! We’re talking Heat, Dolphins, Marlins, Inter Miami… they’ve all got my support.
Least favourite exercise your trainer set for you in the offseason?
I’d say it’s got to be all the extra cardio I had to do to get ready for F2.
What's a better feeling, nailing a quali lap or executing a late overtake?
I saw what Nicky and Alex said to this answer and I have to agree. Nailing a quali lap all day long. It’s my favourite part of a weekend, I love putting it all on the line.
Is there anyone you idolised when growing up?
In racing, my first hero when I was a kid was, funnily enough, Jeff Gordon. I just loved watching him and the way he fought on track.
Favourite sport that's not F1?
At the moment, I’d have to say NFL. But it switches between that and the NBA.
If you could invite anyone in the world to a dinner party, which three people would you choose and why?
I would invite Leo DiCaprio, I feel he’s kind of cool. Then let’s also invite Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt. Let’s make it an A-List movie night!
What is your favourite Grand Prix?
Well, I could be biased and say Austin. I mean, how can you argue against 450,000 fans across the three days last year? That was pretty awesome. But I’ve got to say I love Silverstone as well.
What's been your favourite moment of your career so far?
My rookie race in Macau where I finished third. Definitely, 100%, hands down my favourite track in the world.
One word to describe how you're feeling about the 2022 season?
Confident.
One word that best describes Williams Racing to you?
Supportive.

Okay I had a thought. Joe x reader fluff with the song “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez.
until i found you
ask and you shall receive... more loosely inspired than completely derived from the song?? which i hope you still like :p no warnings just a fluffy lil blurb, maybe a lil smidge of angst but that's all!
Tumblr media
A warm breeze whips your hair across your face and you don't notice it, but Joe is watching across the yard with a small smile on his face as you laugh lightly and pick the loose strands out of your lip gloss. You seem so in your element, surrounded by your mutual friends and his teammates, laughing at someone's lame punch line, cheeks flushed pink from the heat and maybe one too many champagne flutes.
He gets this strange feeling in his chest, in his stomach, like he could scream or cry or collapse in the best way – this feeling that he always get just looking at you. Like he loves you so much that it could take him apart from the inside out.
In moments like these he always takes himself back to the start of his rookie year, that one cold night with the biggest snowstorm of the season when he let the chill in the air turn him cold, too. When he'd taken your sweet little heart into his hands and squeezed a little too tight, cracked it a little under too much pressure. He remembers exactly what he said to you that night.
"Date nights and holidays will be here. You will be here. My career won't."
He didn't mean it. And you'd never known your Joe to be malicious, conniving, or to hurt anything or anyone intentionally. But his implication that your relationship, that you weren't important to him at the time felt purposeful, like he was truly trying to hurt you.
He had let you slip out of his fingers, the stupidest fumble he'd made in the entirety of his football career, in the entirety of his life. He'd let you go, but he'd quickly found out how impossible it was for him to even function knowing he wouldn't be coming home to texts and calls and your touch.
The following month he'd show up at your doorstep equipped with a bouquet of your favorite flowers and an extensive apology alongside a thought-through pitch for you to take him back, a request to let him love you again.
Letting you go then, to this day, was the stupidest decision he'd ever made, and he never let himself forget it. Especially now, watching the way you threw your head back with that smile on your face at something Hubbard said (and it couldn't have been that funny).
A firm hand comes down on his shoulder and startles him out of his thoughts, pulls him into attention at the rest of his surroundings again. He recognizes the hand as Ja'Marr's when he takes a glance, and he's handed a glass of his own.
"You already got the girl, brother. You gonna stand and watch over here like a creep or you gonna go enjoy what you got?"
Joe scoffs a laugh at his best friend, knocking back his champagne and handing the glass back to a cheeky Ja'Marr, who stalks back over to the team to snicker about how whipped their quarterback is.
You feel his arms around your waist before you feel his chest hit your back and his scent flood your senses. It's barely audible, but he lets out this little sigh, so chock full of content and comfort that your body melts into his on instinct.
He gets a whiff of your shampoo as you soften to his touch, and he feels so lovesick that he can't stop himself from turning you away from your friends to face him.
"Hey hotshot," you tease when your eyes meet his, toothy grin lighting up your face.
"Hello beautiful," he hums, leaning towards you to nudge the tip of your nose with his, hands firm on your waist as yours come to rest up on his broad shoulders.
He could let his eyes flutter closed and stand here with you, just like this, for the rest of his goddamn life. He could say fuck it to the team, fuck it to the NFL, to the entire sport of football to stand here with you.
But instead he feels you tip toe to press your lips to his and he feels his heart start to hammer in his chest when you pull him a little closer. His hands bunch up your cute little dress when he lets his grip tighten and he can feel his head swimming, thoughts getting lost as you move your lips with his.
He's ripped out of his state of grace when you detach your mouth from his, startled by a teammate, probably Ja'Marr, wolf whistling in the distance.
"Get a room!"
"Y'all gonna go at it right here?"
The boys won't stop hollering at the two of you, and you're laughing it off, this joyous little sound that Joe would almost be willing to let his team keep eliciting from you if it didn't mean he was missing out on kissing you silly.
He shoots them a pointed glare before shifting his gaze back to you, where your eyes meet and both of you soften to one another once again.
It's just a mumble, words spoken under his breath for only the two of you to hear, but the message rings as clear as if he was screaming it to the skyline, and blood rushes to your cheeks.
"You know, even if we had met twenty years later, I wouldn't haven fallen in love until I met you."

𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗦 — 𝗝. 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 / 𝗦. 𝗛𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗱
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: You and Joe have been best friends since you were kids and when he decides to set you up with Sam one day, jealousy ensues.
PAIRING: Joe Burrow x Reader, Sam Hubbard x Reader
WARNINGS: Smut (18+, minors DNI), lots of swearing, slight choking, unprotected sex, drunk reader, drunk Joe and Sam
WORD COUNT: 5.6k
A/N: The picture that inspired this entire fic. I had started to get a little sloppy towards the end with my writing because I was trying to wrap it up as quick as I could but I hope you all enjoy!
------
For as long as time could allow you to remember, you and Joe were inseparable. The two of you became best friends because your parents were friends with his, so naturally, you were in each other’s lives from the moment you could both walk and talk.
And throughout the years of growing up together, Joe became your rock. There wasn’t anything you two didn’t do together. Went to the same elementary school, middle school, high school, and eventually college. You refused to leave his side, even when he ended up transferring to LSU. That’s how close you were with each other; nothing could separate you two or the magical bond you shared with Joe.
Or so, you thought.
You weren’t ever really interested in Joe because he wasn’t exactly your type. You didn’t even think he was that attractive. Shallow of me, you thought. But it was just the truth. He was always the center of attention and you just… Weren’t. You hated attention, matter of fact. But it was something about him taking his first steps into the NFL that had you questioning the way you felt about him. It was like he’d done a complete three sixty from the last time you’d seen him. Somehow, he looked way prettier and it was obvious that was beginning to take good care of himself. You wondered why you had cared so much now about how attractive he was. Maybe you were just proud of him. Or maybe there were some underlying feelings there. You didn’t know but chose to ignore them and bury them for as long as you could.
However, if Joe wanted to be the franchise quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, then he needed to keep up his appearance, right? And that’s exactly what he did. In his third season in the NFL, you could see the way his confidence had skyrocketed since his rookie season. It warmed your heart, but it also had you feeling neglected by your best friend and you told him as much. You didn’t even realize why you were craving his attention so bad; it didn’t seem like anything uncouth to be feeling that way. He was your best friend, after all. But Joe was practically a star now, and all you could do was sit back and watch, admiring from afar.
But what was Joe’s solution to you feeling neglected by him?
“You need to get laid or something.”
Appalled and taken aback, you swatted at his arm for even considering you needed to get laid to stop feeling neglected by him.
“What? It’s true. Getting laid makes everyone feel better. Plus, I know someone on the team who’s dying to get some action of their own,” Joe insisted.
You rolled your eyes dramatically and picked at your chipped nail polish. Here we go again, you thought. Joe had spent an ungodly amount of time trying to set you up with players on the team since 2020, but you always refused. Why? You didn’t really have a good enough reason, but you’d lie your way out of it every single time. It just wasn’t something you were interested in.
“For the millionth time, stop trying to set me up with the guys. I’m not interested.”
“Are you a lesbian?” Joe deadpanned as he placed his elbows on the table and rested his chin in his hands, staring at you stoically. The fact that he was so damn serious had you nearly bursting into a fit of laughter. “You know, because if you are, that’s really badass. I’d be so happy for you. I’d be the ultimate wingman—“
“What? No, I’m not a lesbian! Jesus, Burrow,” you quickly interjected.
“Then, what’s the real reason you keep turning down everyone I try to set you up with?”
You suddenly froze, not expecting the question. You didn’t want to be honest and tell him the real reason, so you’d have to come up with another lame excuse that you knew he’d just roll his eyes at. You had to protect yourself and your heart.
“Because, Joe. Why can’t you just live with the fact that I’m not interested? Why is that not enough for you?”
As per usual, Joe rolled his eyes, but leaned in closer to where you were sitting across from him. “Because I heard from a little birdie that Sam is single again.”
You had suddenly perked up at the mention of Sam being single. He was everything a girl could want in a man. Big, tall and literally sculpted by Greek gods. Literally everything that Joe wasn’t. You had once taken an interest in him a while back but didn’t know he was in a relationship at the time, so you backed off and left him alone. He was the one player on the team that you wouldn’t have minded being set up with.
And now, you were about to get your wish. But if Joe would’ve known it was about to be the biggest mistake of his life, then he would’ve stopped it from happening before it did.
By the end of the regular season, you and Sam had established a friends with benefits situation because you weren’t really interested in a relationship. Everything worked out perfectly because Sam wasn’t interested in one either. It was almost too perfect.
You didn’t like showing affection in front of anyone whenever you were around Sam, but something about the Bengals winning the AFC North Division tonight—and perhaps the onslaught of drinks you downed earlier—were enough to have you all over him. The two of you had found a secluded area in the locker room, away from the hustle and bustle of the boys smoking their cigars and dancing along to the music they had blaring over the speakers. You leaned up on your tippy toes and hooked your arms around Sam’s neck as he leaned against the wall behind him, going in for a sloppy kiss. You felt his strong, calloused hands grip your ass and pull you into him more. You could feel the prominent bulge against your thigh, and you moaned into the kiss to let him know.
“I’m gonna fuck you so good tonight, baby,” Sam said, pulling away from the kiss. “Promise?” You grinned, leaning in for another kiss that left you damn near paralyzed.
On the other hand, Joe knew you and Sam were messing around, but he never saw it because you kept it so well hidden from everyone. He wasn’t even sure he wanted to see the two of you messing around. The whole reason Joe had even tried to set you up with guys on the team was so that he could avoid his feelings for you. It was the ultimate cop out and it was foolproof. There was no way in hell Joe could ever confess his feelings for you. There was too much on the line and he didn’t want to ruin the incredible friendship the two of you shared. That was more important to him than taking the risk.
Joe had just finished taking pictures with some of his teammates and began to head for the showers when he happened to run into you and Sam making out against the wall. He stopped dead in his tracks and could feel a pang of jealousy wash over him. He wanted to look away but couldn’t bring himself to do so at the same time. He wanted to be in Sam’s position so fucking bad, but he was a coward and would continue to be for as long as time would allow.
For some odd reason, you felt like someone was watching you and Sam, so you had to pull away from him and find out for yourself. You looked to your right, but no one was there. Then you looked to the left of you to find your best friend standing there; confirming your earlier thoughts of feeling like you were being watched. You didn’t know what to say or even make of the situation. Words were caught in your throat and all you could do was stare at Joe with an apologetic look on your face.
Nothing was said between either of you. Nothing really needed to be said because the looks in both of your eyes spoke louder than words could. Joe got the hint and began to turn back around and walk away, but you had other plans. “Joe, wait—”
You had started to pull away from Sam, but he noticed what was going on and stopped you from doing anything else. “Hold on, let me go after him.”
“I’m not sure if you going after him is the best thing for this situation right now.”
“I got it, trust me. I’ll be right back.”
You sighed in defeat and watched while Sam followed Joe to wherever he was going. As much as you wanted to fix whatever the hell just happened between you and Joe, Sam may have had the upper hand more than you did. They could talk about things more level-headed than you and Joe probably could.
“Joe, man, if you don’t want me to see her anymore, I can stop. Plain and simple. I can see the way you look at her; she clearly means a lot to you. More than you probably let on,” Sam said once he finally caught up to Joe.
Joe picked up another cigar once he returned to his locker space and searched around for the lighter that he had misplaced until he saw it laying on top of a nearby table. “Honestly, Sam. I don’t really care what you do with her. I was the one that practically set this whole thing up.”
“I know, but that doesn’t mean you can’t feel some type of way about it.”
“I don’t feel any type of way about it. Y/N can do whatever the hell she wants.
“So, you mean to tell me you wouldn’t care if I asked her out officially?”
No, I don’t fucking want that. That is the absolute last thing that I want, Joe thought to himself. But being the coward Joe was, he wasn’t going to say it out loud. He and Sam have had a really great friendship for years and the last thing he wanted to do was ruin anything between them, as well. It was such a messy and complicated situation and neither men could really make any sense of it.
“Alright, thanks for giving me the answer I needed.” And with that, Sam left Joe to make his way back to you. But you were nowhere to be found. You had to get out of that locker room because you felt like you were suffocating. Like the whole thing was your fault that things were now incredibly tense and weird between the three of you.
Later on that night, both Joe and Sam had invited you out to a club in Downtown Cincinnati to celebrate winning the division. You wanted to stay at home and sleep for the rest of the day, but you also wanted to get drunk and forget about what happened earlier in the day. And the more you thought on it, the more you felt like it would be a good idea to let loose a little bit.
You wanted to look hot and irresistible tonight, so you decided to slip on a bright red corset, paired with a black mini skirt, black chunky boots to match, and a Swarovski crystal handbag that Joe had gifted you for your birthday a few years back. You knew Sam wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off of you, but you also feared for Joe’s reaction to your outfit choice. It was like you purposely wanted to see if he would hold back on his feelings after what happened earlier.
 —
You were on your fourth or fifth drink of the night… You think? Honestly, you couldn’t tell or even remember, but that didn’t matter when you had Sam’s hands all over you as you swayed along to the heavy thumping of the music. You were sipping on a gin and tonic and out of the corner of your eye, you could see Joe sitting and talking to some of his teammates in the VIP section of the club that the team had rented out for the night. You wanted him to see you so bad; you wanted to see that fire in his eyes, the jealousy that you saw take over when he caught you and Sam together in the locker room. And for a second, you swore you did when you finally locked eyes with him. Your breath got caught in your throat and you could feel the heat pooling between your legs as he looked at you like he owned you, possessed you. It was a look he’d never given you before and you couldn’t deny wanting to see it again the more he stared at you. You could even see him visibly gripping onto the glass in his hand like he was pissed at you for doing what you were doing. Instead of walking over to him, though, you downed the last bit of alcohol left in your glass and set it down somewhere before turning around in Sam’s arms. Standing on your tippy toes, you whispered in his ear, “Any place we can find some privacy here? I feel like I’m being watched.”
You couldn’t hide the smirk on your face after you had spoken the last several words, knowing well enough that if Joe had heard you, even over the loud ass music, it would’ve set him off.
Sam’s grin matched your own he took your hand, leading you through the sea of people around you, but you also made sure to never tear your gaze away from Joe’s as you followed Sam to wherever he was taking you. But as you were being pulled in one direction, you could see Joe stand up and began to make his way over to you, nearly causing you to collide against Sam from behind because you weren’t paying attention to where you were going. “Ow, sorry,” you muttered as you rubbed your forehead where you had run right into nothing but tense muscle.
“I’m gonna go see what Joe wants if you’re cool with it?”
“Of course. I’ll meet you in that private VIP room. Just don’t keep me waiting too long.”
Right before Sam left, he playfully smacked your ass and threw a wink at you before disappearing into the darkness. “Wouldn’t dream of it,” you giggled and winked back at him.
“What do you want—” You started, but Joe cut you off when he finally came up to you, saying nothing and instead grabbing you by the hips, directing you to the nearest wall in the club until your back collided harshly with the surface. You let out a gasp from the suddenness and the pool between your thighs had started to make itself more prominent than before. You had never seen Joe act this way around you, more or less fucking manhandle you. Best friends weren’t supposed to act this way around each other. It was forbidden. But it felt like he was crossing the godforsaken line so many people refused to cross. And you couldn’t deny wanting him anymore.
“Stop looking at me like that, Y/N,” Joe leaned in and whispered into your ear breathlessly.
“Looking at you like what, Burrow? I’m not even doing anything,” you challenged.
“Looking at me like you want me to fuck you while you’re all over Sam.”
Oh, fucking hell. What was the point in holding back now? The two of you stared at each other for an entire minute, your breathing labored due to your arousal. You couldn’t stand it anymore. You literally threw yourself at Joe, crashing your lips against his for the first time ever. He quickly responded and threw every ounce of his being into the kiss; unable to keep his hands off of you now that he had you right where he wanted you after all these years. Finally.
When you pulled away from each other, no words needed to be spoken. You knew you needed each other and you needed it now. You took Joe’s hand and led him in the direction of the private VIP room where you knew Sam was waiting for you. And no, you hadn’t forgotten about him or kept him waiting, but you had an idea in mind that you’d been dreaming about from the moment Joe caught you making out with him earlier in the day. You were hell bent on having your cake and eating it, too.
You pushed your way through the door of the private VIP room, only to find Sam right where he said he would be, sitting on the plush sofa and looking through his phone. Though the door opening caught his attention and he quickly put his phone away but was confused to see you walking through the door with Joe inches behind you. Sam had begun to speak, but you raised an index finger to get him to stop before he could.
“Here’s what’s going to happen,” you began, licking over your lips, “You’re both going to fuck me and by the end of the night, I don’t want to have the ability to walk. Got it?” The confidence in your voice came from all the times you spent being the boss of your own company and it had certainly paid off in more ways than one in this moment.
“Y/N, what the hell—” Joe said, but you cut him off.
“Shut up and go sit down next to Sam.”
Perplexed, Joe stared at you for what felt like centuries before he eventually decided to listen to your command and sat down right beside Sam like you told him to. But truthfully, you didn’t even know where to start. There was so much man to go around and it didn’t help that Joe and Sam were built very differently. They were both tall and around the same height. But Joe was leaner, while Sam was beefier. And you couldn’t stop your mouth from watering at the sight in front of you. You were hungry; you were the predator and they were your prey.
You had eventually decided on making your first move on Joe. You knew what sex with Sam was like because you’d been fucking around since the beginning of the season, so you wanted to start with something new. You could see Joe shift uncomfortably in place when you made your way to him, climbing onto him and straddling him with ease. Like it was something you had done before. You cupped his face in your hands and your lips met his for a fiery kiss that left you feeling over the moon. You never knew kissing Joe was something you needed, something you craved, until now. And Joe didn’t hold back either. He kissed you with the same amount of passion and it was clearly pent up from keeping his feelings hidden since the two of you could practically talk as kids. And you had gotten so lost in the kiss that you nearly forgot Sam was sitting right next to you, uncomfortably having to watch what you were doing with Joe.
Instead of ignoring Sam while you paid attention to Joe, you reached over and deftly unbuttoned his pants, wasting no time at all in slipping your hand past his boxers so you could firmly grip his cock. You could hear a faint groan coming from beside you and that caused Joe to pull away to inspect what was going on. He saw the way your hand worked its way up and down Sam’s shaft and even with bloodshot eyes, you could still see the intensity in his orbs. He didn’t want you anywhere near anyone else besides him now that he finally has you where he wants you. However, he knew that if he said anything, that it would start a fight and that was the last thing he wanted right now. He’d let you have your way for the night with both him and Sam, but it was the first and last time it was going to happen.
You saw the way Joe reacted to you paying attention to Sam while you were giving him attention, so it sparked an idea in your head. An idea that would likely have him begging for you, which is something you never thought you could see yourself wanting. But now that you practically had him in the palm of your hand, you wanted it more than anything in the world.
You climbed off of Joe and subtlety made your way to your knees in-between Sam’s thick thighs, your fingers making quick work of pulling his pants and boxers down and off in a matter of seconds. Your mouth watered at the sight of his cock that was ready and hard for you and you couldn’t resist leaning forward to close your mouth around the tip, earning a groan from the beautiful man sitting on the couch above you. You didn’t have to even look up to know that Joe was uncomfortable in more ways than one. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see him shift a few times and when you finally looked up, he was looking away from you. Pulling your mouth away from Sam, you huffed in annoyance and snapped your fingers to get his attention. “Eyes on me, Joey. Watch me while I suck your friend’s dick. Look at everything you could’ve had if you would’ve just told me you had feelings for me.”
“Y/N,” Joe growled, his voice strained.
“Shut up and fucking watch me,” you demanded. Without saying another word, you leaned back in and your tongue scooped up the pre-cum on the tip of Sam’s cock and you moaned in satisfaction once it slid down your throat. Finally, you could see Joe watching you with an uncomfortable stare as you took Sam’s length all the way back into your throat. Normally, you’d be looking up to Sam to gauge his reaction, but all you could do was lock eyes with Joe as you bobbed your head. Up and down, back and forth. Joe was squirming under your stare and you noticed the way his jeans grew tighter with every bob of your head.
Meanwhile, Sam really could’ve cared less that Joe was being ordered around to watch while you gave him a blowjob. In fact, he had his hands in your hair, his head was tilted back and he was letting out moan after pretty moan. And it was music to your fucking ears.
“Y/N, please,” Joe begged. You grinned around Sam’s cock and pulled your mouth off of him once you finally got what you wanted out of Joe. The fact that it didn’t even take long to have him begging for you is what drove you wild. With the back of your hand, you wiped the spit off the corner of your mouth and you braced yourself on Sam’s knees to help in getting up off the floor. “Did it turn you on watching me suck off your friend?”
All you got in response from Joe was a roll of his eyes, but you glared at him and he was once again squirming. “Yes. Fuck, Y/N. Yes, it turned me on.”
Smirking at Joe’s admission, you ignored him and decided to climb up onto Sam and straddle his waist like you’d done to Joe earlier. You bunched up your skirt around your waist and slipped your panties down your long legs, blindly tossing them somewhere over to Joe. You could hear the way Joe sucked in a breath as his fingers touched the material delicately; like he was afraid that having your panties in his hands was some fever dream. Joe rolled them up into a ball and stuffed them inside one of his pockets. He wasn’t giving those back to you. Not a chance in hell when you were making him suffer right now.
You rolled your eyes at the action and took Sam’s hard cock in your hand, giving it a few strokes before you lifted yourself just enough to allow the tip to penetrate your entrance. You let out a satisfied sigh and eventually slid all the way down until he was completely nestled inside of you. “Fuck,” you both groaned in unison upon the contact.
You quickly found a rhythm that you liked, bouncing up and down on Sam’s cock like it was the only thing you knew how to do. You always loved the way you could feel so full of him and yet, not full enough of him at the same time. You always wanted more, craved more. Sam was a goddamn man in every sense of the word and he had you damn near paralyzed with every stroke of his cock inside of you. You became so engrossed in the way you rode Sam’s cock and the way he felt that you completely forgot about Joe sitting there right beside the two of you, watching you fuck Sam.
“Stroke your cock while you watch me ride Sam’s cock,” you ordered him around again, “And I want the two of you to kiss while you do it.” It was a lot to ask of both of them, but you honestly just wanted to see if they would actually do it. Sam was a little more willing to do things out of his comfort zone, meanwhile Joe typically kept to himself and didn’t like taking risks. You could see the way Joe froze when you insisted on them kissing. Like it was something that was forbidden. He clenched his jaw as he watched your every move on top of Sam; and the more he watched, the more pissed off he became. He wanted his way with you more than anything in the world and he knew that if he wanted to fuck you eventually, he had to abide by your demands.
Sam turned to Joe, licking his lips. “Come on, man. Just let her have her fun. It’ll be forgotten about tomorrow.” And that’s exactly what he did. In one quick motion, Joe’s boxers and jeans were around his ankles and he took his cock in one of his hands right at the same time he felt a strong, muscular hand wrap around his neck, drawing him in close enough so their lips could connect. You let out some kind of animalistic sound at the sight of two of the hottest men you had the pleasure of knowing kissing right in front of you. It egged you on, encouraged you to want to work yourself on Sam’s cock even better than you had already been doing. “Holy shit,” you moaned and threw your head back in pure ecstasy.
Meanwhile, Joe was working his hand along his cock at a generous pace as Sam’s mouth possessively claimed his own, pre-cum leaking out of the tip and eventually dripping down onto his hand. But it didn’t bother Joe. He was drunk and wouldn’t even remember this in the morning. All he cared about was finally being with you. Even if it wasn’t in the way that he had wanted or pictured it.
“That’s so fucking hot. God, I want you inside of me so bad, Joey,” you breathed, working yourself to an eventual climax after the way you had continuously bounced on Sam’s cock. It took over your entire body and like always, you were trembling with pleasure. But you didn’t want it to end there. Oh, no, you had plenty more in store for the two men that sat in front of you.
After your high subsided, you climbed off of Sam and stood in front of both of them as if nothing had just happened which prompted the two men to break away from each other; wondering what you had up your sleeve next. “Joe, I’m going to get on all fours on the couch and I want you to fuck me from behind. Sam, I want your dick in my mouth while he fucks me. Sounds easy enough, right?”
Out of nowhere, Joe had built up some newfound confidence and he pushed himself up from the couch, making his way to you where he stood behind you, pulled your arms behind your back and roughly guided you to the couch. He bent you over the arm rest and rested his hands on your ass, gripping and squeezing as he pleased. He groaned at the way you felt underneath his longer fingers, desperate to feel more of you, to feel your tight walls clenching around him as he fucked you. The suddenness of his actions and the way he was manhandling you had you a complete and utter mess for him. It was funny how you could slip out of the dominant role so easily and hand it over to him when you had never been in the position with him before. But you liked it, loved it even. And you wanted to experience more of it. Especially when you were sober.
Without you expecting it, Joe withdrew his hand and he swiped it through the air; his palm coming down onto your bare ass and leaving behind a red indentation in the form of his handprint. You moaned, nearly on the edge and wanting to cum again from the unexpected action. You had no idea was so possessive in bed.
“Fuck, Joe. Please, I need you inside of me.”
“Sorry, what was that? I couldn’t hear you.”
You groaned, loudly, and pushed your ass back up against him in hopes it would bring some sort of relief to the warmth between your thighs. It was no use, though, because Joe noticed and spanked you again for even trying. “I need you inside of me, Joe. Fuck… Please give it to me.” Whimpering, you looked up at Sam with a look in your eyes that begged for his cock in your mouth. Sam took the hint and got up from the couch, instead deciding to kneel on the surface of the couch and wasting no time in directing his cock right back into your mouth. “Baby, fuck…” Sam groaned and leaned his head back, enjoying the way your mouth felt around him.
A sense of jealousy came over Joe again and he couldn’t wait anymore to be inside of you. He needed it just as bad as you did. Without giving you any warning, Joe plunged himself deep inside of you and you moaned around Sam’s cock from the feeling of finally being full of him. After years of pent up sexual tension and frustration that you didn’t even realize was there, his cock was finally claiming you. Finally. And it was just as you imagined it would be; perfect in every sense of the word.
You tried to focus on sucking Sam off as best as you could but it was becoming difficult to do anything else except allow yourself to fully immerse into the way Joe was fucking you. Sam noticed your lack of movement and began to fuck your mouth, driving in and out of you in a way you thought wasn’t humanely possible. And at the same time, Joe was fucking you dizzy; you didn’t know left from right, where you were at, how late it was. All you knew was that you wanted Joe to make you cum over and over again until you physically couldn’t anymore.
You couldn’t handle all of it. Sam’s dick in your mouth—practically choking you and Joe—fucking you like he was never going to be able to do so again. Considering you two crossed the line, you weren’t sure how things were going to be afterwards. If the sex would strengthen your bond or if you two just simultaneously ruined everything.
You lifted a weak hand up to Sam, desperately tapping his thigh to let him know that you needed air and to warn Joe of your impending climax. Sam nodded in your direction and he quickly pulled his cock out of your mouth, but that wasn’t about to stop you from coaxing him into his own climax. You wrapped your delicate hand around his length, pumping him profusely while you barely found it in you to finally warn Joe. “Fuck, Joey! I’m gonna cum. Please give it to me.”
Right on cue, your second climax of the night hit you like a freight train and you could sense Joe following right in your footsteps. “Fuck, Y/N. You feel so good,” he said as he unraveled, releasing every bit of his seed in you that he could. Moments later, Sam was also following, leaning forward to let go in your mouth. He had almost let go all over your face, but you were lucky to scoot forward a little bit before it could happen.
Joe pulled out of you slowly and when he did, you were so fucked out that you fell face first into the couch and you let out a groan from your now uncomfortable position. You didn’t want to move or get up. You could stay right there for all you cared. “Y/N, are you okay?” Sam asked, purely concerned as he reached for his clothes to dress himself again.
“I’m fine. Just leave me here to die,” you mumbled against the fabric of the couch.
Joe and Sam looked at each other silently for a brief second, then laughed in unison and you swore in that moment, you’d never felt more accomplished in your life for managing to snag some of the hottest men on the Cincinnati Bengals in one night and at the same time.

Drinking | Tim Bradford | The Rookie
Act Two
Tumblr media
Two weeks from now:
Tim Bradford was known to be many things. Hardass, stickler for rules, vengeful, angry. Words like these had been tossed around tirelessly to describe him. None of these words could describe him now. If one were to say anything about him, they would say he was burdened by grief, a man destined to be encompassed by the negatives in life.
—----
Tim shivered as he moved throughout the house, not used to the cold feeling that had settled into the walls. He supposed he should be used to it by now, the place did seem a lot bigger when it was only him after all. It seemed like nobody lived there at all, the only sounds which indicated anyone existed within the walls was the tv playing an old tape of an NFL game and Kojo’s soft snores.
It took all of his willpower to not scream and shout just to scare off the quietness that surrounded him. It felt almost as if it had him in a chokehold, firmly compressing all the oxygen he had from his lungs. He couldn’t stay like this, not with the weight on his chest. He needed something, anything to ease his body and mind.
He decided to forgo the glass as he reached fo the near empty bottle of scotch that rested on the kitchen counter. Moving to the living room, he let his weight crash down onto the sofa, taking a deep swig from the bottle as he leaned back. There was nothing he wanted more than to be swallowed whole by the couch. Except for (Y/N) to come back to him.
But that wouldn't happen, and he had to make his peace with that.
He had survived losing her before, it would seem that he could survive losing her again. But this time there was no hope, there was not a chance that she was going to be coming home any time soon.
Rosalind Dyer had won.
It was always a possibility that she would prevail. The woman was a mastermind with no boundaries and no drive to lose. Despite all they knew about her, they had underestimated her. He could say that the entire team had underestimated her, but that wouldn't be fair to them. He was the one who made the plan, and he would be the one to live with the consequences.
He took another swig from the bottle, the burn of the golden liquid had become so familiar that he didn’t even wince. As he did so, Tim started to reconsider all that had led him to this very moment.
From the day he started at the academy to the day he lost (Y/N) for the first time. It had all been building up to this, and all he could do was drink.
He knew that they were out there, the LAPD. Hunting down Rosalind Dyer on the streets of Los Angeles and they knew they would find her. She had been caught before after all. But this time was different, this time he could help, no matter how much he wanted to do.
Sighing softly, he placed the bottle down next to the chess board in front of him, and picked up his phone. The blaring alert of ‘NO NEW MESSAGES’ taunting him. Lopez would let him know what happened, or Harper would. Maybe even Nolan.
Tim scoffed at the thought, but he knew that John would let him know what was happening in the hunt for Dyer, if Tim asked that is. Maybe that was why he didn’t ask, if he knew what was going on then he wouldn’t be able to stop himself.
He tossed the phone to the other end of the sofa at the thought and picked up the bottle again, looking around his living room even though he knew it was only him and Kojo here. He knew he was being watched; every instinct he had carefully trained since his days in the military screamed it at him. Tim remained relaxed in his posture, not letting the dread he felt show.
Once again, he allowed his eyes to scan the room, making sure to catch a glimpse of every nook and cranny he could think of. His eyes lingered for a second longer than they should have on the wooden bookshelf, trying to look at each book individually.
He had built it for (Y/N) when they had moved in together, hers had been damaged in the UHaul truck, meaning that their living room was filled with stacks of books pushed into one corner. He had almost stuck a nail through his finger but that didn’t matter to him, the look of joy on her face made every splinter worth it.
Tim shook his head at the memory as he had another sip from the bottle.

opinion: logan was moved up too early. other people deserved the seat more. he should’ve stayed in f2 at least one more year to get the experience, it would’ve helped him a lot. not a lot of people can handle doing just one year in f2 and going straight into f1. it’s not his own fault, but i think it was doomed from the start
Okay I have some thoughts and I feel like since I agree with this for the most part I’m gonna lay it all out here.
1. Logan is in F1 right now regardless of the situation and he himself has to prove why he deserved the opportunity of having a seat in F1.
2. Yes one hundred percent he should have stayed in f2 for a year longer or even gone to do something like super formula to gain more experience I agree.
3. Do I think it was doomed from the start? Yes 100% it’s kinda like throwing someone an American football and expecting them to catch it first try, like no that isn’t realistic, it takes NFL players years to even get remotely good enough for the big leads, it’s the same thing with formula 1.
4. Logan is also at fault in a way given that who would turn down an F1 seat, but also I feel like James shouldn’t have offered the seat knowing he want gonna be the best on the grid.
5. Logan truly came into f1 at a time where we are seeing a rookie in which has just been fucking amazing the last couple of months and we seen a rookie leave, then we saw another rookie do well in just 5 races… but the last race wasn’t that rookies best race (Liam) and Logan had a chance of out qualifying Alex.
6. I one thousand believe next year could be more of his year and that this year he just wasn’t ready but what do I know I’m not a Team Principal so no clue wtf.
7. Most controversial thought here; I think with Oscar doing so well as a rookie, I think people added this crazy expectation on Logan that he had to do better and perform like Oscar, when it’s very clear Logan and Oscar are 2 very different drivers and the media started adding even more pressure on one dude all cause Oscar is doing Oscar things.

I know I'm late (hopefully not too late) but pls for the ship ask game? Also I saw your wips and got curious about some ❤️ Micah/trevon, Steph/Klay, Travis/pat and Dak/Zeke? I probably asked for a lot sorry hshdhshs
Never late!! Thank you for sending in an ask, I like reading them :> and dw abt asking abt too many bc answering is cool (I should probably be the one apologizing for finishing this response late 😭) For Micah and Trevon @ceedeelamb posted a lot abt them and I was like "okay hm i see the vision." Like Trevon is pretty and at the cost of sounding shallow he should be shipped with someone if the world has any justice. We all know Stefon is pretty but let’s give his brother some love ok. Bc he too is a gorgeous gorgeous girl who is also prone to bouts of manic behavior 🫶 And it seems like he and Micah have a good relationship (the part abt Micah saying he would pick up Trevon’s 2 am call kinda moved me I can’t lie). It’s cute, they talk shit to each other and play off each other well on the field. Seems like Micah is a little more obtuse and Trevon’s more perceptive and that works I think. If I had a nickel for every time I shipped two NFL players and something about 7-11 was involved in its conception I would have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice. Also Micah compared himself and Trevon to Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald... which I mean. Gay off. (rest in peace to that pairing btw i had a fic abt them) (never completed) (i do have a Trevon/Micah fic kinda sorta in the works) (it will probably be short but the vibes are decent)
Steph/Klay is one of those pairings where I don't read much fic but I ship it bc well. Who else would you ship yknow? They're so married it's insane 😭 like I probably got into the nba fandom too late to really be invested in the narrative but I can't imagine them with anyone else. Tbh I don’t read a lot of fic for them bc the dynamic isn’t something that draws me in but just know I support all of the Klephen shippers. I hope that they both stay with the Warriors for their entire careers 🫡
And then Travis/Pat is a valid ship. I support it in theory bc “quarterback + top pass catcher = decent ship.” I feel like I would like this ship more if Travis were younger, with all due respect (and also if the Chiefs didn't constantly beat my teams 😭), but like I still don’t mind it. I had an idea for like some vaguely melancholic short fic abt them with like a dash of yearning once but idk where I put that thought. Overall, good ship tho!
Dak/Zeke is great I hate they're divorced now 😔 there was a fic abt them that I liked but then it got deleted 💔 burning of Library of Alexandria moment. I really need to save more fics bc idk when they'll be saved. Anyways Dak is kinda mother to me so like. I miss their vibes together the nfl honors during their rookie year was kind of a goated vibe. And qb/rb relationships are underrated I feel, something abt a shared responsibility for two facets of the offense.

Do you mean basics about his career or his personality? //
Both if you don't mind 🖤
He played football at Athens High School and you’re going to see that to this day he still represents his school whenever he can.
The he moved to Ohio State University but didn’t get many chances to become the starting QB there, so after graduation he moved to LSU where he became a college football legend hehe
He won the national championship with LSU playing with Jamarr Chase (who now is also at the Bengals) and Justin Jefferson (now playing at the Vikings).
He was the number 1 pick overall in the 2020 draft but unfortunately he suffered a season-ending injury in his rookie year at the NFL.
He recovered and came back in 2021 leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl, in which the Bengals suffered a narrow defeat to the Rams.
The current season was a very tough one. He suffered a calf injury, missed training camp and wasn’t fully recovered in the first few games. Then last month against the Ravens he suffered another season-ending injury and is currently out.
As for his personality, he’s very quiet, very private about his personal life. He used to be more open and spontaneous during his college career but that changed once he got to the NFL.
But all of his team-mates describe him as a resilient, kind and calm person. His mom has said several times that he’s shy and he doesn’t really enjoy being a celebrity, but he understands it comes with the job.
He seems to be super nerdy and goofy, loves Star Wars, Marvel movies, TV shows like The Office and Sponge Bob. He’s also into fashion and is always rocking som very cool game day outfits, and also LOVES UFC.
He has a foundation which focus on mental health and food insecurity. He had this beautiful speech when he won the Heisman trophy that triggered major donations to help out kids and families struggling with food insecurity, I recommend watching it.
I think that covers the basics, anon!

Additional Speculation On Season Storylines (Listed by team) List does not include all NFL teams
Las Vegas Raiders
Raiders fire Josh McDaniels after starting 2-10 and losing to the Chiefs Week 12 in Las Vegas, and promote defensive coordinator Patrick Graham to be their interim head coach.
Patrick Graham will finish the season with a record of 2-3, leaving the Raiders with a final record of 4-13.
The Raiders will fire general Manager Dave Ziegler, interim coach Patrick Graham, and a majority of the rest of McDaniels' staff after the regular season is completed.
Tennessee Titans
Starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill gets injured early in the season, and the Titans allow scond-year QB Malik Willis and rookie Will Levis to struggle for the starting spot before Levis wins it outright after during Tennessee's bye week in Week 7.
Levis then manages to lead the Titans to an 8-3 record from the bye week on, putting up Rookie of the Year-worthy numbers... if he had started the full season.
The Titans still manage to fall in the Wildcard Round to a tough Browns team, but this year still cements Levis as the starting quarterback going into 2024, with Tannehill likely to be moved by the front office in the offseason.
Washington Commanders
Ron Rivera is fired after a Week 16 loss to the Jets, finishing his season in Washington with a record of 4-11. Assistant head coach and Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is promoted to be the interim head coach.
Bieniemy then coaches the Commanders to a 2-0 record in the final games, and after the season, his interim tag is dropped in order to make Eric Bieniemy the full-time head coach of the Washington Commanders in 2024.
Aside
Originally, I had afew wonkier predictions, namely the Cardinals and Colts trading their respective picks to quarterback-needy teams so those unnamed teams could select one of USC QB Caleb Williams or UNC QB Drake Maye.
My only reservation was that by the time October comes around, we're gonna have seen a much better sample size of football in 2023, so I'm certain I'll have opinions on it. I'd just like to save some for the wilder stuff for when there's a clearer picture to expand upon.
Ideally, I'd like to do one of these at the end of every month of the season, so we'll see how that goes.
End of the way, I wanted to put something out to reign in the new year, and I hope you're along for the ride.
Now who's ready for some mothafuckin football?

The number of Black quarterbacks has soared in the NFL over the past 25 years, and it was only a matter of time before two of them faced each other in the Super Bowl.
Sunday’s championship game will pit the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes against the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts. Only seven Black quarterbacks have played in a Super Bowl, and just three—including Mahomes—have won. That a record 11 NFL teams had Black starting quarterbacks on opening day of the current season suggests that matchups like this year’s will soon be commonplace. But the fact that no such game has taken place before Super Bowl LVII underscores the plight of the Black quarterback for most of the NFL’s century-long history.
Even though most NFL athletes are Black, most teams have been slow to put Black men in a position to call plays. The Eagles, to their credit, have been more willing to offer opportunities than other teams. “I think about all of the [Black] quarterbacks that came through Philly: Randall Cunningham, Rodney Peete, Donovan McNabb, Mike Vick,” Hurts told reporters during a pre–Super Bowl media session. “This franchise, the history we have of African American quarterbacks—that speaks for itself. I told those guys I want to carry that torch for them.”
Like Black Americans in general, Black players in the NFL have long struggled to have their talents and aspirations taken seriously. In 1920, Fritz Pollard became the first Black quarterback in what was then known as the American Professional Football Association. In his rookie season, Pollard led the Akron Pros to the league championship. But in 1934, the NFL banned Black players at the initiative of the former Washington owner George Preston Marshall, who once said, “We’ll start signing Negroes when the Harlem Globetrotters start signing whites.” The ban remained in place for 12 years.
When the NFL reintegrated in 1946, the prevailing assumption was that Black athletes weren’t intelligent enough to play quarterback. Run and tackle? Yes. Be the face of a franchise and give direction to other men? No.

When I become the NFL Commissioner, here are the rules, guidelines, changes, and overall actions I will be taking and putting into place
No more teams with red, white, and blue, more teams with pink, purple, and green
Giving players the grass they actually want over the stupid shit that breaks knees
Giving them longer pants and shorter socks. It's warmer and solves the problem of getting fined for showing knee (like the silly school girls they are)
Kickers wear costumes (like a girl on TikTok suggested) and come out to kick in the cleaning cart. You know the one. Its adds to the spectacle
We all know the Super Bowl with the two "best" teams, how about the Toliet Bowl? The two worst teams want to lose to take home the golden plunger and Burger King style crowns, because who wants the Lombardi or a ring
Two worst players from each team are dancers in the Halftime show. We're not telling you who's in it though. You'll just have to watch for yourself
Stealing from baseball, but each player gets a walk out song
If you're accused of DV, SV, SA, or any other crime like that, your ass is benched until proven innocent
Instead of the Pro Bowl, players do a talent show instead. However, they can't back out and they chose their performance from a hat
Instead of rookie duty, you get senior duty. Make the guys who are on their way out go broke instead of the poor baby rookies.
No more ads for insurance companies
I personally decide how much money you get paid base off of three things 1.) How annoying your family is 2.) How many criminal activities you've been accused of participating in and 3.) Endorsements you already have
In depth investigation into Nick Bosa because there's questions I need answered
Changing stadium names to something more ✨️exciting✨️
We have poty, opoty, dpoty, orofty, and droty, now introducing wpotf and wpotf. Wtf Ryah, that's the same acronym! It stands for worst player on the field and worst player off the field. Gotta shame those embarrassments

Jake 'Hangman' Seresin x Javy 'Coyote' Machado | NFL!AU

Tumblr media
The locker room was electrified as Jake approached the door, the quiet stadium now in the distance. Mickey’s excited voice vibrated along the blue and silver walls. Jake raised his eyebrows and pushed open the door, his teammates bouncing around as they got dressed for the anticipated game.
"Hey, Mav!" Reuben perked up as he laced his cleats. The coach looked up from his clipboard, unimpressed by their childlike taunts towards the Seahawks.
Jake couldn't care less about what they were discussing, his thoughts still in bed hungover with his friend tucked into his side. He shoved his duffle back into his corner, the plays going on in his mind were being invaded by thoughts of his best friend. Instead of running into the in zone, Jake thought about crashing into the crisp sheets of Javy's hotel room.
"How much do you think we'll get in fines for a sprained ankle?" Mickey joked.
Maverick let out a chuckle, shaking his head at the rookie. "None of that. Just a fair game."
The blond heard the whispers from a couple of his teammates, Harvard and Yale who sat in the corner. He stilled, his eyes glancing at his nameplate but his ears were listening. They hated the Seahawks the most after their last matchup. The foul play from the two teams had ESPN buzzing for weeks and the endless finger pointing and Twitter feuds had both teams up in arms. It was at least good for ticket sales. Jake caught something about an ejection, an ambulance, and something about putting a player out for the remainder of the season.
He needed to warn Javy.
His hand darted for his bag, hastily rummaging through its contents. He needed to clear it off the clutter, he grimaced at the ungodly amount of Cowboys towels he had. Jake finally grabbed a hold of his phone, his thumb typing in his passcode. Warlock spoke up, his deep voice stopping him in his tracks. "Seresin. The cameras are on. Let's go," he spoke evenly.
Jake let his phone fall back into his bag. He could only pray Javy was smart enough to see what some of his team was willing to do to them. The guy had always been smart. Back in college, Javy didn’t hesitate to approach his former teammate, telling him things he had been hearing about the opposing team and how to counter them, Javy watched—stalked then reported back to his ‘pack’ as he called them. Perhaps he was also smart, knowing how Jake’s heart was beating out of his chest every time they were in the same city, how his breath hitched when they spoke on the phone, and oh how he wished Javy could see the blush that covered his cheeks when they did a video chat.
Things changed when Jake stepped onto the field, fans chanted his name, and roaring loud music blasted in his home stadium. He had to focus on the game, they had to make it to the playoffs, so he left all thoughts of Javy in the back of his mind.
The Cowboys were down by 7, the Seahawks making their field goal look effortless. Jake huffed and angrily took off his helmet as he walked off the field to let his opponent celebrate. “Son of a bitch,” he muttered bitterly, one of the coaches coming up beside him with his laminated paper covering his lips. His offense tapped him on the shoulder, telling him kind words of reassurance while they passed him on the way to the field.
“It’s only the third quarter, Seresin,” Hondo chuckled, “We’ve got the ball now, just relax.”
Jake let the older man calm him down, even managing to wave to the fans in the crowd and giving them a signature Seresin smile. Hondo stood in front of him, his sheet in between the two to show him a play. The cheering was normal, loud and overbearing which made Jake lean in so he could hear what his coach was telling him. The game went on behind him—he had to focus on the win.
“Medic! Medic!” They started to chant. A few voices became a whole section and the section turned into a whole side of the stadium followed by sympathetic claps. Jake’s green eyes glanced upward at the concerned looks in the crowd. Something wasn’t right. His eyes fell on Hondo, whose own eyes were locked on the field.
“Fuck,” fell from his lips.
Jake’s heart began to race, his ears suddenly began to ring. He prayed to a God he rarely spoke to anymore as he turned around. The two teams were mixed in the middle of the field, the medics rushing to get to the down player. “No, no, no, please,” he whispered. He looked downward, cleat clad feet moving around just enough to see the player with his Seahawks helmet a few feet from his head and cracked from the impact. It was him, identified by the jawline he drunkenly got to know the night before
Jake’s heart dropped to his churning stomach, seeing his world lying on the floor lifeless. His whole world had come to an abrupt halt.
“Injured player from Seattle. Number twenty-five, Javier Machado.”
Jake ditched his helmet, ignoring the pleas from his team as he ran as fast as he could to Javy’s side. “Javy!” he shouted brokenly as he approached. The medic looked up, his gloved hand halting the player before Jake could drop to his knees.
“Sir we need space,” he tried to tell Jake calmly, easily recognizing the worried look on his face.
“Is he ok? Tell me he’s alright!” he screamed. His eyes were still locked on his friend, a line of crimson blood flowing from his right nostril. Another one of the medics was trying to feel for a pulse. A life with Javy flashed before the blond’s eyes; a couple of Super Bowl rings, a place in the French Quarter, and maybe a kid and a dog.  This didn't look like his Javy. Brush it off like you always do, get up, please get up, but he continued to lay there unresponsive.
“We won’t know if we don’t get some room. We have a pulse now let us do our job!” The man with his fingers to the darker skinned man's throat yelled out.
A comforting hand pulled him back, Javy’s teammate Bradley gently telling him that he’ll be alright. Jake shrugged him off and focused his attention on the smug Cowboys linebacker. “Harvard!” Jake seethed, marching over and shoving his shoulder, “This is your fucking fault!”
“What the fuck, Jake?” Harvard gasped, cocking his head to the side.
“I heard you.” Jake jabbed his finger into the NFL logo on the center of his chest. “I fucking heard you. Now Javy—”
It clicked in Harvard's head, “Your boyfriend’s fine, Seresin,” he spoke quietly, not trying to mask the laugh in his tone.
“Did you see his helmet?”
Brigham rolled his eyes, “He’s fine.”
Jake shoved him one last time, sending the man to the ground. “Look again. If he doesn’t come back from this, his blood’s on your hands.”
He got up and shoved Jake gruffly, balling his fist and rearing it back. It was a lucky shot, said fist colliding with Jake’s perfect nose. Jake wiped his nose and flung the drops on Brigham’s clean uniform. He was about to lunge forward when a ref got in between them. “Sit down!” he commanded. Jake tried to take another step. “Knock it off right fucking now or I’ll make sure the two of you are ejected.”
Jake and Brigham broke it up, Rooster coming up to tell Jake to follow the two medics carrying Javy on a stretcher to get his nose checked.
He’d follow Javy to the ends of the earth, and after a couple of hasty texts and short replies from his coaches, Jake followed Javy to the hospital. He impatiently waited for several hours with a butterfly bandage over the bridge of his nose and a bloody tissue resting on his jean-clad thigh. He sat silently, trying to hear what the doctor and the head coach of the Seahawks, Beau Simpson, were discussing. “Let him be ok, I need him. He’s all I have,” Jake murmured to himself, the threat of tears only making his nose hurt worse. “He’s all I want.”
Jake slumped further into his uncomfortable chair. Regret flashed in his mind, not telling Javy he loved him when Jake had him right there. He wished he would’ve said something the night of the draft a couple years ago when he first realized he was in love with his best friend.
“Kid? You’re still here?” Beau asked gently, a clear look of confusion on his face as he stepped out of the hospital room. Jake lurched forward and rose to full height, his hands beginning to shake.
“Is he ok?” he asked instead, ignoring his question.
The man let out a soft chuckle and finally, he nodded, “Bad concussion. He’ll be out for a few weeks, but he’s expected to be ok.”
Jake could finally breathe, his lungs had never felt more relieved. “Oh thank God,” he exhaled sharply, trying to nonchalantly wipe the tears that pooled in his eyes. Beau stepped forward and put his hand on the blond’s shoulder.
“You both played for Texas, is that right?”
“Y-yes, sir.”
“Well it’s no wonder Mav called you the bonded pair,” he said amused. “Go to him, he’ll be happy to see you.”
The coach left after another reassuring squeeze to his shoulder and Jake timidly walked into the room. Javy was lying in bed, an IV hooked up to his arm and his head resting delicately on the mildly comfortable pillow. “Hey,” Javy spoke smoothly, his crooked smile enough to make the other man swoon.
“H-Hey,” Jake replied, natural charm locked away.
Javy took in a deep breath and smiled softly at his friend, “I’m fine, Jake. I’m good.”
The man finally broke down at the confirmation, his lower lip trembling as all the pent up tears cascaded down his cheeks. Javy slowly sat up and reached for him, hand gripping the back of Jake’s neck and pulling him close.
“I was so worried,” he sobbed. “I knew they were gonna pull something but I didn’t think it’d be you.”
Javy chuckled, “Don’t cry for me, Jake. A tackle can’t take me out.”
Jake pulled back suddenly, Javy’s lips parting his surprise. The blond stood back and looked down at him in disbelief, “That hit was bad. Brain damage, Javy! Did you see that goddamn helmet?”
There was a pause as Jake paced the cold floor. Javy cleared his throat, “Why are you so upset?” he asked calmly.
The other man looked at him like he was crazy. “I could have lost you,” he scoffed. “The only person I care about in the world, taken out by some vengeful airheads. Javy I-”
“You what?” Javy spoke instantly, his voice calm yet firm. He hoped this was going where he thought.
“You’re my best friend—and I-I- I love you. It’s always been you.”
Javy broke out into a wide smile, “Since the first day we practiced together? Back in school?”
“Yeah,” he chuckled, “from the very first day, Javs.”
Javy shifted in his seat and motioned for Jake to come back to his side. He took the paler man’s hand in his, brown eyes meeting emerald green. “I’m in love with you,” he admitted, a year's worth of weight lifted off his chest. His hand slid upward to wrap around the back of his beck, pulling him down for a tender kiss. When they pulled away blissfully, he spoke again, “So very much in love with you. Even if you play for the Cowboys.”
