Polympians Event!

Clarifying right off the gate: This does NOT mean exclusively Percy x poly Olympians, it means any god/Percy ship.

What is the Polympians Event?

What I have in mind is an open event for any and all god/Percy ships. You ship Percy with only one god? Fill the prompts with only that ship! You sail many different god/Percy ships? Fill each prompt with a different ship, if you want! A full Percy/Olympians poly ship, OT3 or any poly constellation? Primordial gods, titans or non-Olympian gods? Any god(s)/Percy ship goes!

I've seen, in recent years, that god/Percy ships have gained quite some traction and I love that, so much. But while there are bigger ships that do have their own events, there are also the tiny rarepairs that don't get these chances, and even with the bigger ones, not everyone has the time/energy to participate in all their ships' events. So one blanket event, where the biggest of god/Percy ships and the rarest of god/Percy ships are equally welcome.

Are there rules to this?

Yes, but only the most basic. No ship bashing or harassment of other participants. The event is open to all god/Percy ships, which means people will participate with your NOTPs too. Don't like them? Don't read them. Instead, focus on the new content to your own ships! If you can't be a civil, normal person about this, then this event isn't for you.

Whether you want to write smut or not is entirely up to you, but you ought to tag appropriately!

What's the plan?

I chose the dates of the Lightning Thief quest for this event! Meaning it will run from May 28th (Percy waking up at CHB) to June 21st (Percy returning the Master Bolt and Helmet).

That length works out well for there to be 12 prompts, and you would have two days to post each prompt, plus an additional 13th prompt on the last day, to keep with the theme of the Olympians.

I'll get an AO3 collection started to which you can submit your entries on AO3 and, if there would be interest in it, I could start a sideblog specifically for this event to which entries (with proper ship tags so you can filter out your NOTPs) will be reblogged as a signal boost.

May 30th/31st: wedding/marriage

June 1st/2nd: The sea does not like to be restrained

June 3rd/4th: family focus

June 5th/6th: jealous/possessive [god]

June 7th/8th: role-swap AU (god!Percy/demigod![god])

June 9th/10th: Modern AU/no powers

June 11th/12th: metamorphosis/shapechange

June 13th/14th: godly gifts

June 15th/16th: Aphrodite ships it

June 17th/18th: Percy accepts godhood

June 19th/20th: yearning/pining

June 21st: Mythology

And because I'm bad at phrasing short prompts, here some explanations on what I had in mind with them, though you are of course free to interpret them in whatever manner you read them!

Roman: could mean the Roman aspect of the god, a Roman!Percy AU, or whatever else you want to make of it!

family focus: Are Percy and the god married with children of their own? Percy as step-parent to campers? The god meeting Sally, Paul and/or Tyson?

metamorphosis/shapechange: the gods have a track-record of turning people into animals or plants. Does this mean full animal, or catboy/other hybrid? Is this angst or fluff?

godly gifts: magic powers granted to Percy, or literal physical gifts to court, or something else?

Aphrodite ships it: Aphrodite as wing-woman, hyping and helping, can also very much include Aphrodite/Percy since she would be her own biggest shipper

Mythology: could be a mythological AU where Percy takes on a role from the past, or specific elements of a tale that recur, anything

Thank you, I'm really happy about the positive responses!

There is no Discord server. But honestly. Not a bad idea. Just, generally, even outside the event, with separate, mute-able channels for each ship so everyone can engage with all the ships they love while being able to disengage from the ships they don't vibe with. That could be fun, if there's interest in one.

Hades gives her a new life in Los Angeles, where she runs across the Roman equivalent to her old life. Percy now finds that there is more for her in store, and that her old life isn't quite done with her. The Titan Atlas decides to invade her life as well, and her new home is becoming a little crowded and too much of the past still sticking to her. There's still those pesky gender identity issues too…

Oh! Oh absolutely! It was intended to be a writing event, since that's the thing I personally do and also where I see the most god/Percy content, but if they inspire you do anything else creative with the prompts, that totally counts and I'm excited to see what you do!!

No, on account of not being a god.

There's some... more shady ones, like nymphs that are also goddesses or spirits/daemons that in their function as personifications can be seen as minor deities of said realm, but giants are very strictly monsters, with no realms or duties of their own.

(But to be quite frank, I have also been considering a Monsterfucker Event for PJO, including non-Percy ships like Medusa/Sally which gained some traction thanks to the show, sooo if there would be interest in that, that would be something to think about for autumn maybe?)

Polympians Event Blog!

Hey, everyone!

I made the post about the event very spontaneously yesterday. And seeing the positive feedback and people getting excited about it, I figured it deserves a separate blog from my main so people can find stuff specifically about the event.

So! This is now the blog for that.

If you have any questions about the event? You can put them in here. If you want to stay up to date on the development - including me posting a link to the AO3 collection when that is up? This is the place.

And once the event takes place, I will reblog all entries that tag this blog on here, so you can easily find other people's submissions. All entries will be ship tagged so you can filter out your NOTPs and will not have to see them! The ship tag scheme is going to be God x Percy, meaning the tag for Perpollo will be "Apollo x Percy", for example, so you won't have to know random ship names and can easily filter out all combinations you do not want to see, while still getting all content for the ships you do enjoy delivered right onto your dash!

For the Polympians event, some of the dates aren't the best for me but I'll give it a shot. It helps that the prompts were published ahead of time. I probably won't be able to write for all the prompts tho. But there's a few that already have me hooked, like family focus and Aphrodite ships it.

Yeah, it is virtually impossible to find the perfect time-span that works for everyone, so I figured I'd make the executive decision of when, but give a leeway of two days per prompt + early enough prompt announcement so most people would still have the chance to prewrite all the ones they want to write with enough time to post! ;)

I'm happy to hear there's interest in participation though! This was a very spontaneous thing that I thought could be a ton of fun and I hope others will think so too <3

I find collections to be really neat for writing events, so yeah, there is now an AO3 collection for the event! (And I edited the original information post about the event to now also include the link, to keep all info on there up to date.)

I'll definitely join the Polympians Event! It sounds awesome! I have a question though, do Titans count as gods because I don't think they fit the niche of monsters, but they're not exactly gods either? I don't wanna like break the rules (I wanna write a KronosxPercyxRhea fic!)

And yes, titans totally counts. Fairly sure I put that in the OG post, maybe you skipped over it. ;)

But yeah, in all technicality, titans are "titan gods". They have their realms and duties, they were in charge of these things before the gods came around. Much like the primordial gods, they totally count!

Dear Anonymous Shithead...

You've been writing PJO fics for almost 8 years now and they're still all the same.

1. It’s been 11 years, actually.

2. You commented this on a m/f ship when I spent years writing exclusively mlm content like the least you could have done if you had to be a bitch was comment on one of my slash fics but you literally chose to comment on one of the (many, might I add) fics that are very different from how I started out.

3. I started out as a kink PWP writer in this fandom and you chose a mostly fluffy cutesy fic. Again, if you had to be a little bitch about what I write, you could have, I don’t know, gone into my latest Polympian fic and complain that it’s “still the same”, since my first PJO fic was a Polympian PWP, for the sake of having at least half a point (even if said point would? still? not be something negative? because I... uh... write what I like... and I happen to still like a lot of the same things as I did a decade ago? So what’s your point there?).

4. I feel like 2.) and 3.) drive it home, but lemme repeat: They’re not the same, what the fuck. I have written over 500 PJO fics. I have written scifi, superheroes, time travel, fantasy, supernatural with demons, or vampires, or werewolves, or witches, I have written crossovers, I have written hurt/comfort, angst, smut, fluff. I have written such a variety of things for this fandom, where do you get off on putting all 500+ of my works into one bag and pretending they’re all the same. What kind of shit are you on.

5. DON’T READ MY FICS. I CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH BUT IF YOU DISLIKE IT, DON’T READ IT. YOU’RE NOT THE AUDIENCE FOR THEM THEN!!

No, seriously, it is batshit bonkers to me when someone has to be a bitch about what other people write. Guess what! If it is not to your liking, you may just not be the audience for it! It is for the people who do like it - and fuck me square, even if that audience was literally only me because everybody else on the planet got tired of what I write, I still wouldn’t give a shit about your opinion because I am the main target audience.

Everyone else who shares my tastes is suuuper welcomed along for the ride and I delight in seeing them! Hearing from them! Interacting with them! But I don’t write for anyone else but me.

I mean, I wrote The Omega of Olympus too, so, does that help?

But it's not very likely that I'll tackle something as massive again in the PJO fandom. Juggling like ten love-stories in a fic is kinda exhausting and a lot of work to figure out. I would need an actual idea that makes this worth writing - a plot - because I am definitely not just gonna do a "and they all fuck" thing, there'd have to be a story there that makes me think it's worth writing and then yeah.

But let's also wait and see what the TV show's going to be like because if they like cast Dom Sherwood as Apollo and Ben Barnes as Hades or something like that, that might force my hand due to visuals alone. xDDD

22. Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit it into your current writing style - Percy in Paradise

Percy was sulking.

Majorly sulking.

Life at camp wasn’t the same anymore. Everyone tried to get his attention, everyone wanted to spend time with him. Though, nearly none of them because they were genuinely interested in his personality and self, but more so wanting their share of his fame. The ones that had been close to him were now out of his reach and he felt lonely.

Thalia was the head-huntress, she was off with the other hunters most of the time.

Nico was back at his father’s palace, spending quality time with his family, ever since Persephone seemed to be nicer to him (he didn’t know why, but he didn’t question it either).

Grover was very busy as the new Lord of the Wild and even if he was around camp, he was mostly occupied by his girlfriend Juniper.

Tyson was at their father’s and couldn’t even find time to spend the summer, because he was promoted to be the general and scarcely had time for Percy anymore.

And Annabeth… was busy rebuilding Olympus; their relationship had been short-living. Two weeks of kissing and holding hands were enough for Percy to realize that he wasn’t interested in girls in that kind of way. So it was only fair to break up with her. The girl was heartbroken and didn’t want to see his side of the story; the whole Athena cabin seemed to hate him from that point on.

That was exactly where his problems were rooted. She had started avoiding him – his best friend had started avoiding him! And all his other friends had no time. And everyone else either wanted him because of his fame as the great hero, or bashed him because he came out as gay.

His life was reduced to nothingness; he felt empty and lonely and, to top it all off, useless. There was nothing to do. New cabins had been build, new demi-gods arrived, everything grew big and impersonal and quests were reduced to little mundane stupid tasks.

Things had changed a lot for Percy since the war had ended. It left him feeling somewhat hollow and lonely. Which, in itself, was absolutely ridiculous - because if anything, he was less alone than ever before.

Everyone seemed so eager to befriend him, to spend time with the great Savior of Olympus. But that was just it. They didn’t want to spend time with Percy Jackson. They wanted to spend time with the Savior of Olympus.

It didn’t quite feel as though they were interested in him, as a person. More like he had suddenly become some kind of celebrity and everyone wanted their piece of his fame, their time in the spotlight at his side.

And that… felt incredibly lonely.

Of course did he have real friends, the ones who had always been at his side, through this whole war and all the pain it had brought with it. But unlike Percy, they all had moved on by now.

Thalia hadn’t returned to visit camp once since the war had ended, she was so busy with the hunt, traveling the world and slaying monsters, especially with the added responsibilities of being Artemis’ new lieutenant.

Nico had retreated back to the underworld, though this time at least not to hide from the world but to spend quality time with his father and stepmother. According to Nico, Persephone was actually trying these days and while Nico didn’t understand it, he also didn’t question it. Something that, in Percy’s experience, was the right approach to the gods.

Grover had a lot of new duties to shoulder ever since Pan’s passing. After the war ended, Grover had officially been announced the new Lord of the Wild and that, of course, didn’t leave much room to spend time at camp. And if he did, he still had his girlfriend Juniper here too.

Tyson was so busy with his new duties as Poseidon’s general and his work at the forges. Sure, Percy was proud of his little brother and he was happy Tyson got to spend time with their dad now, but it also meant that Tyson didn’t have a lot of time for Percy.

And Annabeth, well, things were kind of awkward between them still. They had tried a relationship and it had failed spectacularly when Percy came to the realization that he was very much gay. It left Annabeth heartbroken, and rightfully so, and she had thrown herself into her work - into rebuilding Olympus. A task that kept her away from camp and occupied.

He knew it sounded selfish, because he knew that everyone had very valid reasons for not spending time with him. But that didn’t change the way he felt.

He was so incredibly lonely. So much had happened during the war, so much had hurt during the war. And he had no one to share it with. No one to lean into, to rely on. He was all alone with his thoughts.

And unlike the others, he didn’t have some great responsibility to distract him. The new cabins for the minor gods had all been finished by now, with the new demigods camp had grown bigger but also more impersonal. There were no major quests, it was essentially just summer camp fun at this point.

And in this Camp Half-Blood, Percy lacked a purpose.

22. Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit it into your current writing style - The A and O of Love

The biggest obstacle in obtaining Jace Wayland were his newest little add-ons. The by now former human Simon Lewis and the annoying little newbie Shadowhunter Clary Fairchild. There was a reason Alec had always been annoyed by Clary, right from the start. She took up way too much of Jace’s time, she also caused too many problems and cared far too little about the rules. She had also been the cause for the first outfalls between Jace and Alec. Simon, he hadn’t minded as much. He was more like a nuisance that could be ignored. But now that Simon Lewis was not a mundane anymore, he had somehow become a regular of their team too. And since Simon was practically attached to Clary and Clary was practically attached to Jace, Simon by default also spent a lot of time with Jace. And while Alec had the larger problem with Clary – who annoyed the living underworld out of Alec by merely breathing these days – Magnus was starting to develop a big dislike for Simon. It was a bit of a surprise for Alec to see Magnus jealous. But then again, Magnus was an alpha and Simon had become an alpha by becoming a vampire. Alphas while prone for jealousy in general, were overly territorial about omegas. So for Magnus, who had now decided that Jace was going to be his, it did not sit right to see Clary and especially Simon all over Jace.

Clary hadn’t presented yet and it was hard to tell such things, but they were pretty sure there was no way in the underworld for that girl to be an alpha. Still, Alec’s horrifying horror-scenario was that the redhead would present as a beta and those two would snatch Jace up. Magnus disapproved.

There were two things in Alec and Magnus’ way.

Well, two people, which only made this harder, really. Because Alec was pretty sure that he and Magnus were not the only ones interested in adding Jace to their relationship. After all, Jace was a catch.

He was a beautiful, unmated, strong omega.

And it appeared that Simon Lewis and Clary Fairchild had realized that too.

Alec had disliked Clary right from the start, because from the day they had met, she seemed to be forming a kind of bond with Jace. One where Alec wasn’t a part of and it drove him insane. Ever since they realized she was actually a Shadowhunter, that bond seemed to be stronger than ever. She was a problem; not just because she could be a potential rival for Jace’s heart, but because her recklessness matched Jace’s - and she kept breaking rules and endangering Jace.

Simon? Honestly, Alec had cared little about him at first. The mundie tag-along of Clary, easy enough to ignore.

But then the mundie had to go and get himself turned into a vampire. And now he was just… always around. Sticking close to Clary and, inevitably so, also to Jace.

And while Clary annoyed Alec seemingly out of principle, Simon was more of an irritation to Magnus by now. Something Alec hadn’t seen coming.

Retrospectively speaking, he should have though. After all, he was the one who had made the suggestion to Magnus that they should add Jace to their relationship. And alphas were territorial, particularly so when facing another alpha.

All vampires were natural predators. Were alphas. So by becoming a vampire, the harmless mundie had turned into an alpha and thus, into a potential threat to Magnus and Magnus’ chosen mate.

Clary however, she was still a wild-card - she had not yet presented. Everything was still very new to her. Perhaps that was partially why she unsettled Alec so much; he hated the unpredictable.

The worst case scenario was that Clary would present as a beta and Simon and Clary would sweep Jace off his feet before Magnus and Alec had a chance to.
