“The cool thing is: when you do it right, you get the angels!”
Oh hey, it’s been a while! But I’m still here, and still obsessed with Rhythm Thief!

Gentleman Thief Showdown Round 1, Match 2
[Image description: a versus graphic of Lupin from Lupin III and Phantom R/Raphael from Phantom R: Rhythm Thief. Lupin is wearing a red suit jacket over a blue shirt and pink tie with white pants, and he’s holding a pistol in one hand at his side. His other hand is in his pocket. He appears to be in his 30s and has dark brown hair with thick sideburns. Phantom R is wearing a simple suit with a red tie and a matching black fedora with a red band. The image is focused on his bust, but he appears to be leaning backwards to pose. /End description]

”Would you like to dance with me?”
R25 is one of my absolute favourite scenes in the game, it’s only natural that I’ve made a piece celebrating it! (Raphael should have worn the waiter uniform though!)

Gift of the Musician
Rhythm Thief version of ‘Gift of the Magi’, where Raphael wants to find Marie the sheet music to a song (The Phantom Notes, let’s say) so she can play it on her beloved violin.
Meanwhile while Marie wants to find an ancient artefact Raphael has been after (a Music Box, let’s say) linked to the coin his father left him. When the coin is inserted into the music box, a song will begin to play.
The only way Raphael and Marie can attain their respective gifts is by giving up their dearest possessions…
Marie trades her violin for the music box. Raphael trades his coin for the sheet music.
When they finally exchange gifts, they learn what the other has given up… Both are touched and saddened.
Marie assures Raphael that as long as she has a violin, she will be able to play music. Raphael assures her that she is his greatest treasure— not some old coin— and she’s all the music he’ll ever need.
(Unbeknownst to them, the Phantom Notes is the song the music box plays!)
