When she catches his eye, she slows down to fall into step with him, slowly moving into his space, pushing against the edges of his daydream.

He pushes back. Theyre just daydreams, just the half baked hallucinations of withdrawal. They don’t mean anything. “The maps for the Wastes are ready, ma’am,” he says, shoving work in between them as though building a brick wall, task by task by map by report by requisition.

“Yes, good,” she says, just like in his daydreams as he pushes her against a wall or a haystack. “Thank you, Commander.”

He can see no other way around this, it’s true; their fake public feuds are going to need to be carefully choreographed and thoroughly planned. Trying to orchestrate that is going to be near impossible without some form of covert communication. Alastor has no choice but to surrender the fight - it pains him greatly, but even he knows there’s not much point in resisting. Not if they are to keep this game alive and beating, which they both so keenly want to do. Alastor sighs wearily in resignation. “If-“ Alastor starts. “FUCK YES!” Vox says, grinning, fists clenched and arms pumping. “OH, I fuckin’ DID IT, you’re gonna fuckin’ use it?!”
