Padre Pio’s Sacred Heart Novena Prayer
O my Jesus, You have said: “Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.” Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of (here name your request). Our Father … Hail Mary … Glory Be … Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.
O my Jesus, You have said: “Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in My name, He will give it to you.” Behold, in Your name, I ask the Father for the grace of (here name your request). Our Father … Hail Mary … Glory Be … Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.
O my Jesus, You have said: “Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but My words will not pass away.” Encouraged by Your infallible words I now ask for the grace of (here name your request). Our Father … Hail Mary … Glory Be … Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of You, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Your tender Mother and ours.
Say the Hail, Holy Queen and add: “St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.”

He was and is my patron saint at Confirmation. Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, who entered eternal life in 1968, was a priest for fifty years, all with the stigmata.
He was also a soul reader who knew what penitents would confess before they spoke, was subject to terrible false accusations by traitors within the Church, predicted future events, ones that happened after his death, and his body is, like a small number of other saints, incorrupt, not subject to decay like others.
Pio of Pietrelcina, better known as Padre Pio, is the closest thing to a photograph of Jesus Christ we will ever have (though the Shroud of Turin, if authentic, is a photograph of Him in a sense), but Pio himself would have been the first to give all the credit to God.
Everyday, as a Catholic, but also a mortal man, I must strive to be more like Padre Pio. Everyday, I take false steps, by my frailty, by the ways of the world, by my foolishness. I beg the pardon of anyone I scandalized away from the Faith, and I beg the pardon of anyone to whom I set a bad example.
Still, I must trust that God, not I, will carry me to Heaven.

THE DESCRIPTION OF SAINT PIO OF PIETRELCINA (Padre Pio) Feast Day: September 23
"Pray, hope, and don't worry."
Pio of Pietrelcina was born Francesco Forgione to Grazio Mario Forgione and Maria Giuseppa Di Nunzio, both were peasant farmers in Pietrelcina, a town in the province of Benevento, in the southern region of Campania, Italy on May 25th, 1887. He had an older brother, Michele, and three younger sisters, Felicita, Pellegrina, and Grazia (who was later to become a Bridgettine nun).
At a young age, he made the decision to dedicate his life to God, and began a life of penance. One day after listening to a Capuchin friar, who was seeking donations in the countryside, he determined to become a religious priest.
In 1903, he entered the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, and took the name of Pio. After his ordination seven years later in 1910, he was assigned to the mountain convent of San Giovanni Rotondo, near Foggia, where he remained his whole life. Pio was endowed with exceptional spiritual gifts, such as reading the soul of his penitents, bilocation, experiencing heavenly visions and ecstasies. On the other hand, he was constantly afflicted with physical illness. He believed that the love of God is inseparable from suffering, and that suffering for the sake of God is the sure way to reach him. Pio was often obsessed by the devil, who terrified him with horrible screams and loud noises, or by burning and destroying the furniture of his room, or by brutally beating his body.
In 1910, Padre Pio received the stigmata of Our Lord: red marks appeared in his chest, hands and feet, accompanied by acute pain. At times, he also experienced the pain of the crowning with thorns and of the scourging.
Padre Pio died on September 23, 1968 in San Giovanni Rotondo at the age of 81, after making his last confession and renewing his Franciscan vows, while holding a rosary in his hands. Millions of pilgrims visited San Giovanni Rotondo during his lifetime, and many more afterwards. Pio was beatified by Pope St. John Paul II on May 2nd, 1999, and canonized as a saint by the same pope on June 16th, 2002 at the Vatican.
As Padre Pio had said: "After my death I will do more. My real mission will begin after my death."

Ignacio de Leon y Escosura: Franciscan Monk Reading
Life of St. Pio of Pietrelcina
In one of the largest such ceremonies in history, Pope John Paul II canonized Padre Pio of Pietrelcina on June 16, 2002. It was the 45th canonization ceremony in Pope John Paul’s pontificate. More than 300,000 people braved blistering heat as they filled St. Peter’s Square and nearby streets. They heard the Holy Father praise the new saint for his prayer and charity. “This is the most concrete synthesis of Padre Pio’s teaching,” said the pope. He also stressed Padre Pio’s witness to the power of suffering. If accepted with love, the Holy Father stressed, such suffering can lead to “a privileged path of sanctity.”
Many people have turned to the Italian Capuchin Franciscan to intercede with God on their behalf; among them was the future Pope John Paul II. In 1962, when he was still an archbishop in Poland, he wrote to Padre Pio and asked him to pray for a Polish woman with throat cancer. Within two weeks, she had been cured of her life-threatening disease.
Born Francesco Forgione, Padre Pio grew up in a family of farmers in southern Italy. Twice his father worked in Jamaica, New York, to provide the family income.
At the age of 15, Francesco joined the Capuchins and took the name of Pio. He was ordained in 1910 and was drafted during World War I. After he was discovered to have tuberculosis, he was discharged. In 1917, he was assigned to the friary in San Giovanni Rotondo, 75 miles from the city of Bari on the Adriatic.
On September 20, 1918, as he was making his thanksgiving after Mass, Padre Pio had a vision of Jesus. When the vision ended, he had the stigmata in his hands, feet, and side.
Life became more complicated after that. Medical doctors, Church authorities, and curiosity seekers came to see Padre Pio. In 1924, and again in 1931, the authenticity of the stigmata was questioned; Padre Pio was not permitted to celebrate Mass publicly or to hear confessions. He did not complain of these decisions, which were soon reversed. However, he wrote no letters after 1924. His only other writing, a pamphlet on the agony of Jesus, was done before 1924.

Padre Pio rarely left the friary after he received the stigmata, but busloads of people soon began coming to see him. Each morning after a 5 a.m. Mass in a crowded church, he heard confessions until noon. He took a mid-morning break to bless the sick and all who came to see him. Every afternoon he also heard confessions. In time his confessional ministry would take 10 hours a day; penitents had to take a number so that the situation could be handled. Many of them have said that Padre Pio knew details of their lives that they had never mentioned.
Padre Pio saw Jesus in all the sick and suffering. At his urging, a fine hospital was built on nearby Mount Gargano. The idea arose in 1940; a committee began to collect money. Ground was broken in 1946. Building the hospital was a technical wonder because of the difficulty of getting water there and of hauling up the building supplies. This “House for the Alleviation of Suffering” has 350 beds.
A number of people have reported cures they believe were received through the intercession of Padre Pio. Those who assisted at his Masses came away edified; several curiosity seekers were deeply moved. Like Saint Francis, Padre Pio sometimes had his habit torn or cut by souvenir hunters.
One of Padre Pio’s sufferings was that unscrupulous people several times circulated prophecies that they claimed originated from him. He never made prophecies about world events and never gave an opinion on matters that he felt belonged to Church authorities to decide. He died on September 23, 1968, and was beatified in 1999.

He is known for patient suffering, fervent prayer, and compassionate spiritual guidance. His advice on the practical application of theology is “Pray, Hope and Don’t Worry." He had spiritual gifts including the gifts of healing, bilocation, levitation, prophecy, miracles, extraordinary abstinence from both sleep and nourishment, the ability to read hearts, the ability to see and speak to angels, the gift of tongues, the gift of conversions, and the fragrance from his wounds — the *Stigmata of Jesus, (*5 Wounds of Jesus, on his Hands Feet & Side).

Prayer to St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina
Most blessed and beloved Saint Pio, you were chosen to glorify the crucified Jesus Christ, through the visible wounds of the cross, that you bore for 50 years. And like our Lord Jesus, you demonstrate your great love by sharing the many gifts best upon you— especially the gift of intercession.
Because of your great friendship with the Lord, He responds to your request and blesses those who you bless. I now add my prayer to the many prayers offered to you every day by those who seek you your help to obtain healings and consolations, earthly and spiritual blessings, and peace for body, mind and soul.
In your loving kindness, please bless my loved ones and me, and intercede for the special request to me stay strong in spiritual warfare.
In your great love, Saint Pio, please continue to pray with us and for us. Amen.

Hey, do you know anything off the top of your head about St Padre Pio of Pietrelcina?
Like, is he famous or something?
Particluarly revelvant to the situation of the last few years?
Something like that?
OhohoHO yes. He is famous.
St. Padre Pío was a priest, specifically a capuchin monk, not to be confused with the capuchin monkeys. He was a mystic and miracle-worker, known in his lifetime for his visions, levitation, discernment of souls, healing, bilocation, and stigmata (five supernaturally inflicted wounds that mimic the ones Christ received on the cross), which he bore for 50 years. He gave spiritual direction to Karol Wotjyla and prophesied his election to the position of pope (Pope St. John Paul the Great). He died September 23rd, 1968, and his body is incorruptible. There are. So many. Miracles attributed to him.
Despite being a saint whose life was marked by spectacle, his spirituality was always very grounded. He was always very shy of attention and would often be sharp with people who came to him in the confessional for his celebrity status instead of for the sacrament. The saying he is most known for is “Pray, hope, and don’t worry!”
As for any particular relevance of the last few years, he was an Italian who lived through both WWI and WWII. His time was marked by upheaval and panic, to which he responded with love of Christ and neighbor. Incidentally, he’s also the patron saint of teenagers and those suffering from stress.

Saint Pio of Pietrelcina
For over fifty years, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina reported stigmata which were studied by several 20th-century physicians, whose independence from the Church is not known.[26][27][28] The observations were reportedly inexplicable and the wounds never became infected.[26][27][29] His wounds healed once, but reappeared.[30] The wounds were examined by Luigi Romanelli, chief physician of the City Hospital of Barletta, for about one year. The physician Angelo Maria Merla noted that the wounds were not tubercular in origin but could not make an official diagnosis without further tests.[31] The surgeon Giorgio Festa, a private practitioner, also examined them in 1920 and 1925.[31] Professor Giuseppe Bastianelli, physician to Pope Benedict XV, examined the wounds, but no report of his examinations was made. Pathologist Amico Bignami of the University of Rome also observed the wounds, describing them as shallow. Festa, who had originally agreed with Bignami, later described the wounds as superficial when covered with a scab.[31] Giorgio Festa noted that "at the edges of the lesions, the skin is perfectly normal and does not show any sign of edema, of penetration, or of redness, even when examined with a good magnifying glass".[31] Alberto Caserta took X-rays of the hands in 1954 and found no abnormality in the bone structure.[31] Giuseppe Sala who worked as a physician for Pio between 1956 and 1968 commented that tests revealed his blood had no signs of abnormality.[31]
There were both religious and non-religious critics who accused Padre Pio of faking his stigmata, saying he used carbolic acid to make the wounds. The historian Sergio Luzzatto recounted that in 1919, according to one document in the Vatican's archive, Pio had requested carbolic acid from a pharmacist. She said it was for sterilizing syringes used for vaccination.[32]
Amico Bignami in a report wrote that the wounds were caused by "neurotic necrosis". He suggested they had been inflicted unconsciously by suggestion and artificially maintained by iodine that Pio had used as a disinfectant.[31] In 1922, physician Agostino Gemelli wrote that Pio was an hysteric and his stigmata were self-induced, not of supernatural origin.[33] Gemelli also speculated that his wounds were kept open with carbolic acid.[33] Giorgio Festa, who examined the stigmata of the friar on October 28, 1919, wrote in his report that they "are not the product of a trauma of external origin, nor are they due to the application of potently irritating chemicals".[34]
Throughout his life, Pio had hidden his wounds by wearing fingerless gloves. At death there were no wounds, only "unblemished skin".[35]
the drama of it all...
