Scientists theorize newly discovered brain parasite could be cause of "fad" mentality amongst females globally in recent years.

The fads believed to be related to the phenomenon include:

- Making "pursed lips" photographs

- "Twerking"

- Nostril piercing

Body Image Concerns: Dissatisfaction with one's physique is exacerbated by the use of filters, which can lead to the promotion of unrealistic beauty standards and the promotion of comparison to others' filtered images.
