So Megatron has a father figure in Terminus. What about mother figure? Like Termagax.

Also, did Optimus have any parents figures in his life?

I've been thinking about her and if I want to include her in the story or not. I have a sketch of her design tho just in case lmao

I've been trying to fit her into the story since Megatron is in the mines for all his young life and doesn't come out until he's an adult. I was thinking that maybe Termagax was a former miner that managed to escape and miraculously find a job in the city. And that she knew Terminus personally and they were friends (she was younger than him tho), and she insisted on him escaping with her but he refused because he was scared. I'm thinking maybe after Megatron was freed and taken to the hospital, she was the medic that helped him heal and also taught him how to read and write etc.

I don't think she's a mother figure to him though, more like a friend or teacher though.

I'm not sure yet though, it's a work in progress :)

For Optimus, Alpha Trion was his and Ultra Magnus' father figure. Alpha Trion knew Sentinel Prime personally and that may be a reason why Sentinel Prime decided to give Optimus the Matrix of Leadership. And also mostly because Optimus could be easily manipulated and tricked. Alpha Trion died later on but Sentinel remains alive.

I really like this panel from issue 35 of IDW2019. For a long time, Termagax has been going "not my monkeys, not my circus". However, she started the circus (the Ascenticons). Not only that, she holds a powerful artifact that people want. At this point, conflict is reaching every little nook and cranny of Cybertron. Termagax has influenced too many events that have turned into an avalanche of chaos and violence. She lost the luxury of turning away anymore.

And megatron and starscream have to deal with the fact that they BOTH have mommy issues

I feel like that would give them massively extra interesting designs! Especially with Termagax as an antagonist (i don't think she was one in idw2?)

Indulging in my own AU stuff for EarthSpark, because like my issues with Cyberverse, apparently I have to do it myself. Reestablishing contact with Cybertron is what I want to see, and I’m not sure if they’ll follow up Breakdown going back to Cybertron atm. Anyhow rather than Decepticons, though they’d appear later too, I thought first contact with Cybertron would be via a more aggressive breed of Autobot, having forced to work with a dubious faction of an entirely separate Transformer race, to keep their head above water.

I went with Magnus to reference Animated, but I originally wanted him to be Regulus Prime (both he and Amazon(us) Prime were former Primes in IDW TF vs GI Joe), but I stuck with Magnus knowing Hasbro would be twitchy about new after Optimus/Rodimus Primes.

The other Maltos are off doing something else with Megatron, with the reason Robbie being here with Graham’s group is because after his near death experience he got mad at his parents gushing over Mo (and ignoring him) and just wanted to get away for awhile. Nightshade followed because they were concerned about Ol’ Rob.
