I'm so tasked with things to square them down, properly solve them that i didn't do blogging for the Death of the famous Creator of DragonBall,Toriyama Akira. Please forgive me.
Toriyama Sensei died on March 1, 2024 at age 68 due to acute subdural hematoma.
His Life,his Great Creations
He began his first serialized manga, Dr. Slump, in 1980, and it inspired two television anime and multiple films. Toriyama followed it up with Dragon Ball, which ran from 1984 to 1995, and is still inspiring manga and anime sequels and spinoffs today. The manga's Dragon Ball anime adaptation, its sequel Dragon Ball Z, and its other numerous sequels and anime films are equally as well-known as the manga, and its hero Goku has become a character known throughout the world.
He's also well-known as the character designer for the Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon and Tobal games.
Most recently, Toriyama was working closely with the production for the Dragon Ball Daima anime series, the most recent anime series based on Dragon Ball, and is credited for the new anime's story and character designs.
Below:Toriyama Sensei and his son Sasuke playing Dragon Quest 3 some time,in the late 1980s. Wholesome, because albeit the Sensei was busy to create(and manage his plans)he did spent time with his family:)
My Say:
We're mortals, with physical needs and troubles. However the Japanese people ,the mangaka, particularly Toriyama sensei give us the lesson:That you have the Wright, and Obligation to create something Profound and great, and not being a NEET. The man has inspired me too.May he rest in peace:)
"It is too early. The hole is too big. Sadness washes over me when I think that I will never see him again. I have admired him so much since I was a child.
I remember the day he called me by name for the first time, the day you used the word "friend" for me and Kishimoto, I remember being overjoyed with Kishimoto on the way back home. I also remember the last conversation we had.
He was one of those who took the baton from the days when reading manga made you a fool, and created an era when both adults and children could enjoy reading manga. He showed us the dream that manga can go global. It was like watching a hero going forward. For not only manga artists but also the creators in various industries, the excitement and emotion of the time of Dragon Ball serialization must have taken root in their childhood. His existence is like a big tree.
For the manga artists of our generation who stood on the same stage, the closer I got to Toriyama's works, the more I realised that they had a greater presence. Scary. But I am just happy to see the easy-going man himself again. Because we love Toriyama-sensei on a blood level. With respect and gratitude for the creative world he has left behind, I pray for his soulful rest in peace.
May heaven be the joyous world just as you envisioned it." (X)
Finally feel like I can say something coherent, so here goes...
I say this without a shred of exaggeration: Akira Toriyama was legitimately one of the most important creative figures of the last 50 years. His work, especially Dragon Ball, has influenced SO much even outside its own medium. Movies, TV, cartoons, comic books, video games, MUSIC... all of it. You can see his fingerprints in so many other works. Even now, artists and writers, voice actors and animators, musicians and game devs are all mourning him and reflecting on the impact he had on their own work. Titans of anime and manga are sharing in this pain.
The craziest thing about this though? The humility he had in spite of it. He was always reluctant to be in the spotlight, preferred to keep his head down and just work, never really worried that much about public perception of himself. Part of what makes him such an icon, man.
Losing him is losing a piece of our shared history. It's something that resonates deep in the hearts of everyone his work touched. This is just... such a loss. And I can't even begin to imagine what his family is going through right now. Praying for them all.
Rest in Peace to a literal Legend, an absolute Icon, and a personal inspiration in more ways than I could ever express properly.
RIP Akira Toriyama (1955 - 2024)
You were an absolute legend and you bestowed upon the world one of Earth's greatest heroes. A private dude who crafted colorful worlds with even more memorable characters. Now just make sure you don't fall off Snake Way!
With Toriyama Sensei's death I sense Nostalgic of the days ,when i sat down and watched Dragon Ball.It was among my desired to watch animated series. At those days I wasn't so tasked with so many duties, chores etc. Then again so many i didn't know about Japan either.
