The Delta - Panorama by virtualwayfarer Upon arrival in Iceland we were met by news that the winter's first storm was scheduled to sweep across Iceland over the following week. With it, came 14m/s+ winds, dust storms, and harsh conditions. But, it also made for beautiful photography, fresh dustings of snow, and a proper taste of Iceland's harsh but magnificent weather. #artists on tumblr #autisticart #firealpaca #mixed media #self portrayal #BREACHES THE DIGITAL SURFACE AND GASPS FOR AIR #TYPING UP THAT LIST TOOK DA Y S #like god i had all the basic modification listings already but i had to look each of them up on cc search to get the offical credit format #and i also had to experiment to figure out the ideal balance between space efficiency and legibility #god #next time ill grab the actual offical credits (and not just the titles) as i go so i dont have to spend so long just retrieving those #cc search is pretty neat but by god is it difficult to search for a specific image you remember on there #sometimes theres no title and very often searching the creator is not fruitful #so you have to guess a lot at what descriptors could bring it up #once or twice i had to manually set up the credit myself since i couldnt find it. hope i didnt mess that up somehow #fuck man that was so many spoons to compile but i had to get it done. it was only going to get more draining to do the longer i waited #coz my interest in this piece has waned since ive finished it #like nothing against it thats just how art works fhsdjkfhsks #im not spending hours a day on it anymore so my spoons are more easily applied to other stuff #anyways when i started this it was vaguely about the sensation of like. my laptop is very laggy #i have restless legs syndrome #normally the rsl is very minor but when im frustrated by lag or huge amounts of clutter it can act up #so my rsl was acting up a bit with some frustration and it was borderline kinda sensory overload #it wasnt the end of the world but it was kinda annoying #i really need to go to the dmv so i can get that credit union account. dying to set up a ko-fi or some such to save up for a new laptop #or like. not a New one but a refurbished 2012 since apparently this model is still the favourite of the right-to-repair crowd #i just dont have the resources or experience to repair this and i need a fully functioning one asap #ill keep this one i just wont use it anymore. retirement essentially #fuck knows its earned it

Storks at Sunrise over Lake Natron by virtualwayfarer The road to and around Lake Natron led through Africa's famous Rift Valley. It presented moment after stunning moment of new sights - both cultural and natural. Highlights included time spent with members of the local Maasai tribes, including a stop at a local market, a number of craftswomen selling their jewelry at a volcanic crater, and of course my half Maasai guide who helped me lug my gear and ford the river back and forth up the Ngare Sero Gorge to the falls. Tarangire National Park Photo Safari by virtualwayfarer Situated relatively close to Arusha, Tarangire National Park is stunning. The diversity of landscapes, wide range of animal life and incredible sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. As the overall safari was 9 days, we were able to spend a full day in the National Park which let us access parts which were much more remote than the normal game drive routes. My guides from Fed Tours and Safaris (fedsafaris.com) were spectacular to work with and I can't recommend them highly enough. Resilience - Wahiba Sands - Oman by virtualwayfarer When I booked my trip to Oman I had no idea what to expect. Friends said it was an incredible spot to visit. Photos of the empty quarter and other regions looked stunning. The general advice I got was that it was a) expensive and b) safe. During my 6 day road trip at the end of 2019 and start of 2020 I explored the north eastern corner of the country. I found the prices to be comfortable so long as you were flexible and had your own car. More than that, the beauty of the landscapes was stunning, and the locals were incredibly friendly and welcoming. These are highlights from that trip. The Great Dunes of the Southwest by virtualwayfarer When you say Colorado - the thought that comes to most people's minds is one of jagged mountains - the Colorado Rockies and continental divide. Perhaps you think of the stunning gorges of the Black Canyon on the Gunnison. What you probably don't think of, are some of North America's most spectacular sand dunes. Though they've become very, very popular, the Great Sand Dunes of Colorado are a positively spectacular spot. The dunes themselves are windswept and mighty with 700+ foot drifts which sit at the feet of 12,000+ foot peaks. In early summer, and dependent on weather, you'll also get a snow melt-fueled stream that snakes between the greenery and the dunes serving up a surreal divider and rich nursery for mosquitoes. As always, my shots are edited with basic modifications and a quasi-NatGeo inspired aesthetic. No artificial light added. Only cropping and lens spots removed. Most shots are single exposure takes.
