#i watched godzilla vs kong 2021 today #my first thought is: why is the american trilogy so inconsistent with its hollow earth theory. #is it a bunch of huge deep caves? is it a big gap where the core should be? #is the earth a matryoshka doll and the gap between outer and inner earth is hollow earth #and for some reason BOTH sides of the gap have their own gravities #even tho you could keep the direction of gravity the same and jsut make the “floor” of hollow earth the surface of the inner matryoshka? #WHERES THE LIGHT COMING FROM ?? #why can kaiju easily handle an 'entire planets gravity' when most state-of-the-art helicopters cant #you can chuck a bug out a window and it's fine. you can chuck an elephant out a window and it's dead. but a huge ape falling miles? #thats fiiiine #also why is kong an ape and godzilla a marine reptile but all kaiju have a 'lineage' that lets em sense each other and fight #they barely have the same niche why are they territorial #god i wish i was related to godzilla. and if kong is then i definitely am! #but idk. i didn't watch the kong movie. i only watch godzilla movies #shitpost

if youre not convinced that a score can make or break a movie, literally just look at godzilla 2014. i firmly believe if they'd gone a different direction with the score and let bear mccreary COOKK it would have been such a standout with godzilla movies. the cinematography is so good its just the score and the Marvel Ass dialogue that make it a mid godzilla imo....... please

Not to sound like an elitist but I finally watched Godzilla 2014 & the fact people think it’s better than King of The Monsters boggles the brain. Not only is it 2 hours of blatant military propaganda it’s boring as shit too

And it’s a wrap.

I thought about them cooking bugs, bc that would probably be the real life equivalent of grossness to eating monster. But I couldn’t find any real reason why they would cook them.

Like for the dungeon and monsters it makes perfect sense. But schools aren’t really a environment where lots of bugs live and they don’t really have an incentive to resort to eating them. So I went with the bento idea instead. Also it’s way cuter.

Laios would make gross monster themed bentos tho. Like with evil spider motives or Godzilla, Yugioh or smth.

Marcille would either find the bentos too cute or the ones from Laios too gross to eat. But of course they taste good when she eats them.

Bevor the others joined Senshi, he would not be allowed to use the kitchen so he will sneak in sometimes to cook. (Thanks for the idea @flaralump )But he also has a camping stove and some cooking supplies in his bag. After the others join they will form a cooking club and therefore gain access to the kitchen.

Since Senshi and Chillchuck are in the same year he thinks Chillchuck must be a gifted child, bc he obviously must have skipped some years since he is still so young. lol

Another head canon is that Senshi often talks like an old men. Like he will say ye are so young ye gotta eat. And everyone is like: ???

I've been waiting for this for so long and it's finally here!!!

Yes, it's Minus One's Goji!!(yes that's my attempt at a recreation of that one scene

I absolutely love this figure, he is very accurate to the movie. He has all the details that is seen in the movie! More pictures where you can see more of him:

I tried to get a good picture of his eyes, too, as that's one of the little details that make this Godzilla look more terrifying.

And one more that shows off his scar on his face from a certain event in the movie(no spoilers for those who haven't been able to see it)

(It's the mark on his cheek closer to his eye and the end of the mouth in case it's not clear).

Also his toes are articulated as well to an extent. Which I think is a cool yet strange choice. Can't say I'm complaining tho. Another surprising thing that can move is the three topmost spines(or I guess the proper way to say it is the first row of his spines) are slightly movable, and no, it's not a flaw, that's planned. It's for a bit of ease with posing his head like in the first picture. Neat. Though I ought to be careful, that can make it easy for them to fall off and accidentally lose them. But no, the spines don't work like in the movie when he fires his heat ray/atomic breath. Not sure how they'd pull that off honestly.

Anyway, I am so happy to finally have this in my possession, I pre-ordered this literally the same day I first watched this movie, back in December. He looks so cool, I could not resist getting it.

I don't even know why I'm writing this, as is not referred to anybody in particular; Really just me Gremlin, musing.

BUT if shipping Ghidzilla (Godzilla x Ghidorah for the ones unaware), why shipping only Godzilla and Ichi together??

Like, true Godzilla and Ichi may appear as the one most matchable, but I think there could be some funny/interesting dynamics with also San and Ni.

San personality is hot topic, I'm not diving it right now; but we could agree he's not having a really great time with his brothers?

He somehow was always slipping up, not doing things exactly as they were expected, his head was the disposable one.

Is San even worthy for his brothers?

Ghidorah is The-One-Who-is-Many. Ghidorah cannot exist if the brothers are not together; but each head is also its own person. How the two things not conflict with each other. Where the one starts and ends?

Is San ALONE worth something, for what he feel, think or simply what he is?

There's someone who will actually accepts, defend him, when he breaks out the mold?

Godzilla is very aware of his surrondings. He LISTENS to the currents, the rains, the earth moving through his own body. And he stops fight, if he feel they'll do more damage than good.

I'm safe to argue he'd lend the same listening to San as well; he'd not let San getting shit for being himself. He's an alpha, he's a brother. And if not intervene, because Ghidorah has to sort their own issues out, he would still listen, or at least let San rest on his shoulder while another fights dies out.

With Ni, it can works the same in some ways.

Ni is for sure in a higher position than San, Ichi prolly trust him a bit more, he consider his brother competent.

But he's still the second in command. He can strategize as much he wants, be more resorceful. But it's always gonna be Ichi the one in charge. Even in something so trivial as moving their body around.

He's own will is subordinate to what Ichi decide to listen.

(And that broken horn he has, he's not perfect compared to him, he stands out unwillingly, he did not get to choose)

Goji is the alpha and he's wild in it. He moves purely by insticts, guts and sheer rage(tho he's still an experienced warrior and knows strategy)

But he listen, he always does. His body is haywired to do so.

Ni is dry, he doesn't sugarcoat and he is capable. If he can't, at least Godzilla can, would.

Also he has the quite poetic side for himself. He would know how to turn Ni weak spots, is subjects of beauty and admiration.

That's it.

ICHI AND GODZILLA ARE FINE. BUT GODZILLA WOULD LOVE NI AND SAN AND THEY WOULD LOVE HIM TOO.

Ishiro introducing Mark and Madison to Godzilla and Mothra in their humanoid forms.

It goes as well as anyone expected tbh.

This is an AU of mine where the majority, cause not all of them like/are able to turn into something so very very small, of Titian’s are able to shift into a humanoid version of themselves.

Godzilla was the first to show his humanoid self after the events of Hong Kong, not willingly tho, then Kong and after that was straight chaos for a few months. Monarch had lots of questions and so did the rest of the World which will be explored later on.

((Ishiro was the first to actually see Godzilla in his humanoid form when he went to detonate the nuclear bomb. He was shocked to say the least, and while he had many questions he knew he didn’t have much time. Ishiro knelt down to Godzilla, explaining to him what his intentions were, and said goodbye as he was fully ready to die to save him, except Godzilla wasn’t one who would go in debt to someone who saved him only to die right after so while in pain and disoriented he transformed back into himself and scoops Ishiro into his mouth right as the bomb exploded, saving him right on time.))

I’ll explain more of this AU and how certain events and characters changed because of it later on.

Summary of those 9 years. What must have happened with Emory. How Emory lived in those years?

PART - 2

( This is my thinking taking in consideration of Emory's character and how different events unfolded, but if you have any thoughts to add, then do it, i will love to know what other think of those 9 years). And do comment i would live to know what you thought of this.

I didn't add timelines but if you want let me know! ( it can make it easier for you to understand )

2. Emory in College and after that uptil Nightfall

Emory moved into college early than other students, earlier than official move in day (as Rika mentions in corrupt that Em was "excited" to move into college and moved when she got her letter, obviously Rika didn't knew the real reason), when Emmy was sitting at the airport to leave thunder bay she was in a hurry to leave this place that gave her pain, and to finally make sure martin was out of her life and never following her. But when she was in the plane, she was overwhelmed and had this bitter sweet feeling that she left everything behind, the place where she grew up, her Gazeboo, her Grandma, Will, Theater everything. She was nervous of the life awaiting her. Will she be able to make it?. But a fear that one slip up will throw her back into Martin's way always present at the back of her mind. She looked around the flight people, ALL STRANGERS!! and here she was all alone, like she always was. She was nervous of the new life. When the plane landes she got off the plane, came out of the airport, got in a cab and went to UC Berkeley. She arrived at the cames and saw two- three other students with bags, like her, to move in. There weren't many just a few. She went to sign on the arrival form, the desk person looked at her and asked her if there is someone with her, she said no and she saw the hint of saddness if the eyes of that person very clearly. Not wanting any pity she got her keys and made her way to her room. But she couldn't help it, em looked down at herself in her old converse shoes and plain jeans,with two suitcases and a backpack she thought "EMORY SCOTT CAME ALONE, WITHOUT ANYONE". She went inside her room, looked at the two bed, two study desks and the window inside the room. She loved the window and how you can see the view outside easily. She opened the window, cold wind blowing in her face, a small smile tugged at her lips. The wind reminded her of her grandmere and how she was always so stubborn to "have her wind" because it was her last. She chuckled missing her most now, Will crossed her mind, what will he be doing? How was his first day? She shook her head and pulled out her phone and called the home where her grandmere was staying requesting them to let her talk to her on video call. They talked for an hour but had to cut it short because it was time for grandmere to take her medicines. The bags caught Emmy's eyes and she decided to put them in the wardrobe. "But i can't choose any wardrobe i like, what if my roommate, if i have any wants this one? And same with the bed." Em thought. But she ended up choosing one she liked "if my roommate liked this one we can just switch", she emptied her suitcases, arranged all her clothes in the wardrobe, arranged her study desk. But it was the Godzilla plushie that made her stop, she looked at it not knowing where to keep it, on her bed near her? Or just stack it back in the wardrobe? She took it with her when she left thunder bay, one of the only thing of will's she had, no way she was leaving it behind she loved it. She looked at its fangs and spikes on its tail remembering the day of the LOCK IN when Will put it inside her locker and how he and his friends pranked her, and how he forced her in his sleeping bag, she smiled thinking of him, no matter what she did or how she tried to not think of him, he somehow always came to her mind ALWAYS!. She thought how she had a great time in that chemistry lab even though she was mad annoyed at him that night. She ended up setting the Godzilla plushie at her desk. After making her side of the room she sat on the bed a little confused what to do now? She left her room went to look around the campus, the library, the buildings where her classes are going to be. After having dinner at one of the halls she came back to her empty room and went to sleep as she was so tired after the activities of the day. The next few days were same where she toured outside of campus, how far is the nearest movie theater? And checked her internship status.

I have been working on this for like a week and now my mind is all over the place, there are so many things i think happened but i don't k ow how to put them in sentences. SPOILER ALERT!! I AM NOT A WRITER!! So this is not a fanfic or anything i am just trying to fill the blank of those 9 years by thinking how em reacted in other instances.

I have ideas and i know you do too, so feel free to add them here.

And honestly your reviews about my writing or anything will be greatly appreciated. Even if its a bad thing or good thing doesn't matter, if you have anything to say feel free to do it.

wait the soundtrack that plays in KOTM where Serizawa says goodbye to Godzilla is actually sung in the Babylon language? and here i was thinking all along it was Japanese.

I suppose it makes sense tho, with Babylon being the most ancient known language translated so far. Really helps underscore how *ancient* Godzilla is if even the early Babylonians got to encounter him.

Movie Review: Godzilla Minus One

Open up by saying: Minor spoilers ahead. I don't give large spoilers for movies such as the play by plays that you often see in reviews, but just the general vibe and enough info that you can have a similar experience to me watching the movie. If you don't want any spoilers at all, well I provide the spoiler free review first, so stop after that if you've not seen it yet and want to remain pure. That should cover just about everything.

General review: 7/10, would recommend. Its a Godzilla movie. You should know what you're getting yourself into here. Critique of the Japanese government, heartfelt human characters, and of course, GODZILLA! He looks great in the movie, and as a fan of Atomic Fire Breath, I rate this one's as FANTASTIC. Literally my favorite one so far. So yeah, go watch it!

Now to spoiler review where I give vague and stupid statements about the actual movie:

Great message, the critique we're looking at is the treatment of Japanese soldiers during WW1, in particular the idea that you where expected to die for your country despite the fact that the war was already decided. I love the struggle of the main character, as well as his relapse into the trauma he carries with him. Though written with recovery being a bit unrealistic, the break downs and problems working in life feel quite true to form, if not exaggerated by movie logic as always. Dealing with PTSD is where most of the movie's real plot is, and I feel like it is done quite well. It managed to make me tear up a few times.

The kaiju plot was a little odd tho... Godzilla has always been a warning against nuclear war and disasters, the idea that we are working with power that we are not responsible enough to handle. That's what Godzilla is... So why does Godzilla exist before the first bomb was dropped? The first bit of the movie shows that Godzilla had existed long before the bombs, but that... doesn't sit quite right with me. Just the slight critique tho, other than that Godzilla is great.

There was a lot of scenes in this movie where if I wasn't in a movie theater on opening night, I would have burst out laughing. As in there are multiple points in the movie where Godzilla's head gets blown off like a rock em sock em robot. Its a genuinely hilarious image, but I was in a movie theater and really into it, so I ended out not laughing as much. What sucks is that every single one of these funny moments is in a very climactic scene, and I won't lie, they where unintentional and I do think that brings the movie down a little bit. Overall it wasn't much a problem tho.

Once again, 7/10, would recommend. Its a good Godzilla movie, and I once again recommend it to people who are interested in the franchise and those who just enjoy movies. Good job Godzilla Minus One.

Now the funny of this review: Godzilla gave someone cancer. I have no idea how the break this to you other than that. Godzilla legitimately gave a character in the movie cancer. But it's not like normal cancer? Its like Godzilla cancer? I have no idea why Godzilla gave a woman Godzilla cancer, but I hope we get another movie in this universe so that we can know what Godzilla cancer is. I can't get over this. Why does Godzilla cancer exist? Is it normal cancer but flavored Godzilla? Is the woman going to mutate into a Godzilla people like with Shin Godzilla? WHY DID GODZILLA GIVE THAT WOMAN CANCER? THATS NOT VERY CASH MONEY OF YOU GODZILLA!

ahah, you know what, i'm gonna post about my tmnt kaiju/godzilla au :)

it's called radiant beasts, and it's mostly inspired by '87 and the showa era, tho i take a lot of stuff from other incarnations too

so the turtles are like gamera x4, splinter is a king caesar-esque kaiju, and they all live on monster island. april and irma are humans who stumble across the turtles one day and form a psychic bond, allowing them to communicate.

shredder is king ghidorah, and krang is mechagodzilla! shredder is a very old storm god and the foot clan worships him like a kind of cult. karai is also a human who forms a psychic bond with shredder, and is hailed as the herald of the shredder

krang was built by the utroms to be the ultimate war machine, but went berserk upon first being activated and basically annihilated everyone. when all was said and done, he gave himself the name of krang, to define his identity. he gets shot into space and crash lands on earth, where he is found by a curious shredder. being giant kaiju, they fight at first, but eventually settle into an uneasy alliance :)

they definitely have the classic '87 gay married/divorced dynamic AHAH i just think it's really funny and charming

anyway. the tmnt have to stop shredder & krang from destroying new york!
