Moderator: You know it's Poppy and Branch you know furthering their story their evolution but it's also furthering the story of Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick because they played these characters now for you know seven plus years so what was that collaboration for you?
Elizabeth: They're a couple that everyone ships like I think we're all like yes Poppy and Branch and we definitely talked a lot about where we start them and where we end them and
I think that we didn't take them so far and there were definitely versions of the script where you know maybe they ended a little farther than they actually ended up in this version
I love watching them together I love seeing them I love their small moments I love watching these two characters evolve over the movies you know where especially like poppy is a little smarter now. They're not like the arch characters that they were in that first one and I love their love and I think that they're a great couple.

Shrek: Forever After (2010)
Tumblr media
After Shrek the Third, I suspect many didn't even bother with Shrek Forever After but this final instalment in the series ties up the franchise in a pleasant, satisfying way. It’s not on the level of the first two. What it does well, however, does make it worth seeing.
Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) has grown weary of his present situation. The monotony of home life with Fiona (Cameron Diaz) and the three ogre children make him pine for the days when he was a “real ogre”. When Shrek meets Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn), the imp tricks him into signing a contract that alters the past. In the new present, Shrek never rescued Fiona and Rumpel rules the kingdom of Far Far Away.
This story isn’t all that original. It’s yet another take on It’s a Wonderful Life. It still works. The previous film introduced many ideas that would’ve hampered any conventional sequel. The number of magical creatures to keep track of ballooned with the introduction of the three ogre children - essentially non-characters -, Shrek regressed emotionally by going back to his swamp and no one wanted more of Arthur or Merlin (neither of which are even mentioned in Shrek 4). Putting Shrek in a situation where he’s all alone is a good move. He and the audience get back some of that magic from the first movie when Smash Mouth’s All Star played and the green-skinned terror was doing whatever he wanted. Then, we remember the growth we’ve experienced since that first adventure and want it back.
A big part of this film's success comes from Rumpelstiltskin. The character is hilarious. Walt Dorn's voice tells you everything you need to know about him instantly, and his mannerisms make him a great, memorable - and original - foe. Every time he’s on-screen, he steals the show. He’s a great addition to the series, much more than the numerous ogres introduced - part of a resistance against Rumpelstilskin's dominion. They feel like a cheat because they come out of nowhere. It isn’t as though previous movies dealt with other ogres besides Shrek. How would him not being born make them spontaneously appear?
The previous chapter made it clear the well of jokes at the expense of Grimm’s Fairy Tales and nursery rhymes had dried up. Well, almost. This film shows us two stories we haven't seen before: Rumpelstiltskin and the Pied Piper. Those aren't enough to carry an entire 93-minute running time, which is why the bulk of the jokes offered come from the franchise itself. We see an alternate version of Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) who, from lack of adventuring - has become fat and domesticated. Shrek meets Donkey (Eddie Murphy) for the first time again but now, Shrek is the clingy one. The ogre must get Fiona to fall in love with him, which causes us and the character to remember how well the love plot was executed in Shrek. At this point, it feels right to use nostalgia as a tool and our expectations being turned on their heads make for clever gags.
Shrek Forever After doesn’t quite have the same magic as the first two movies. The story isn’t as inspired, the musical choices don’t hit the mark the way they used to. By focusing on nostalgia and the love story, it makes up for these flaws. Although this is a more serious story than we’ve seen before, the laughs come consistently. It’s a fitting conclusion the fans will be pleased with. (October 4, 2019)

Shrek Forever After (2010)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
Shrek Forever After has three extreme but brief strobes of lightning in the opening scene. Other scenes involve bright explosions, each with a single bright flash, not quite creating a strobe effect.
There are a couple of flying scenes, a couple of spinning camera shots, and two scenes with no gravity inside a swirling vortex.
Flashing Lights: 5/10. Motion Sickness: 3/10.

Decent addition to DreamWorks' ogre saga. However, it looks tired. Best leave it at that rather than squeeze out another one.

As much as Lord Farquaad is the og, Rumpelstiltskin became my favorite shrek villain.
He's so entertaining, sassy and cunning. And I think being voiced by Walt Dohrn is what sold me. He did an absolutely great job voicing Rumpel.

Made these cuz im beyond tired with how fandom mentality has rotted people's brains so horribly to the point where some people can't let familial relationships be familial relationships and try to twist it into some disgusting shit it's not.
I personally find it especially disturbing since Walt Dohrn and Gina Shay have confirmed that the familial dynamics in this movie were heavily based off their own. So sick of the "fiction doesn't affect reality" crowd trying to find any excuse to ship deplorable shit.
Anyways, rant aside, feel free to use anywhere, no credit needed cuz these are kinda shit anyways lol

Just watched Trolls Band Together...ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!😍😍😍(SPOILERS AHEAD, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oooh, my Harmonia...just got back from watching Trolls Band Together and my GOODNESS!!🤩✨🤩✨🤩Words cannot describe how amazed and engrossed I was into the whole movie!!💖💖💖Was it worth the seven month wait?😗TOTALLY!!😍😍😍It was absolutely fantastic, and I LOVED and enjoyed every single moment of it!!🥰
I was really getting into scenes, got quite a few laughs out of some scenes and was touched the wholesome ones~💕Branch's brothers were just as enjoyable on screen - John Dory still being my fave as he grew throughout the movie (LOVE Rhonda too!😁) Spruce/Bruce is such a lovable family man, Clay was (serious)ly awesome in his scenes and the tender moments between Floyd and Branch really got me...especially with the flashbacks...🥲 It was so great to see Grandma Rosiepuff again, though I do wish there was more feeling shown when her death was mentioned, hopefully the brothers will come to terms with it more in time...and Branch's bunker plan for them all, d'awww...~🥺So he DID build the bunker for all his family...😭 Viva was such an amazing character as well as she adorably bonded with Poppy (ooh, dear King Peppy, I know you were heartbroken at the time but c'mon...😅) and finally braved out of her comfort zone, and Tiny Diamond going through his big boy phase was real cute and funny😂Bridget and King Gristle were great too, it was lovely seeing them again along with the Bergens!😊 I had a feeling Velvet and Veneer were luring BroZone to them, they were such good villains with their goals and personalities but I am glad Floyd got through to Veneer in the end, and he saw the wrong he and his sister were doing, and came clean to everyone. And Crimp was a cutie and deserves better🫂(glad she got a hug from Poppy and stood up to Velvet and Veneer in the end😌) And it was also great to see some of the Snack Pack again too, including Prince D and especially my darling Cooper too, eeeee~!😍💗💗💗He looked so dapper!💝🥰 Speaking of Poppy, she was just as darling as ever~!😚I seriously LOVED her relationship and her undying love for Branch blossom so much here whilst supporting and fangirling for him all the way as they interacted, bless her~😊And that sweet BROPPY KISS!!🤭...🤩I was going 'YES!! FINALLY!!' under my breath, grinning from ear to ear in that moment~💙💖And that moment when I thought he was gonna pop the question during the performance during the end...hehe, maybe another time~😉But I certainly didn't expect *NSYNC to show up in their trollsonas near the end...what a twist!😮
The chase scene and perfect family harmony scene were truly epic and it really shows, it doesn't have to be perfect as long as we're altogether~💞💓All the locations of the brothers were stunning to look at, with Vacay Island and Spruce/Bruce's family, the creepy abandoned Bergen golf course with the Putt-Putt Trolls, and finally Mount Rageous - a whole lot of wonder to take in!💖Walt Dohrn, Gina Shay and the DreamWorks Animation Crew did such an fantastic job on everything!✨🌟✨And that huge BroZone hug...again, d'aaaaww~!😭
As for the songs...I'll be downloading the rest of the album now because they were all wonderful to listen to!🎧🎶Real boyband and 90's nostalgia~✨I know they're gonna be stick in my head for a long time, hehe!😆I have so many faves, especially all versions of 'Better Place'~😚
A greatly HUGE thank-you in a million to everyone Trolls for such a fantastic movie, which I wonderfully enjoyed all the way through, from start to finish!🌟👏👏👏🌟AAAHH!!💓💗💓I JUST LOVED IT ALL!! 😍🤩😍I give it a solid 9.5 out of 10!!😊👍✨Totally made my weekend~!🫶🥰

how cool would it be if they brought back the party crashers for trolls 4?? i know they never would bc ttbgo isn’t canon and literally the party crashers were in the end of s3 beginning of s4 and then never seen again.. but i need to see them again!!
it would make for such a cool plot if they brought them back for the fourth movie. they brought holly darling and val thundershock from trollstopia into the actual canon trolls universe, so they could do that with the party crashers as well if they really wanted to.
i just think that archer and the party crashers were so cool. and the fact that they’re distant cousins of the bergens makes them even cooler. having a backstory on them would be so exciting. idk i just need an excuse to talk about archer again so pls walt dohrn or anybody if you see this pretty pretty pls with sugar on top can you PLEASW consider bringing back the party crashers and making them canon?? PLEASE PLEASE 🙏🙏 PLEASE
do it for him 🙏

Interesting Trolls: Band Together things I learned from a few new Walt Dohrn interviews:
- they’re going to try to explain DJ Suki (possibly)
- some of the main messages are going to be about toxic positivity, enjoying connections/together-time, working through trauma with loved ones, and social performance
- the Bergens have a new diet consisting of a lot of “1970s Weight Watcher food and jello”
- characters will be returning from trolls 1 & 2
- they’d planned on giving Branch siblings since trolls 1
- JT has gotten more involved in dialog writing
- they’re aiming for the entire movie to make us feel like we’re “at a concert” and make us “feel really good”
