Tumblr media
Ranpo Edogawa:
Tumblr media
This adorable bby
“CAN I GET PAIRED UP WITH Y/N?!”
Chaotic duo
You guys are literally the sunshine’s of the Agency
He loves hanging out with you
You are the only person he shares his snacks with
Ranpo, yosano and you are a wonderful trio
Your missions together are always enjoyable and fun
Makes you laugh because he loves the sound of your laugh but you didn’t hear that from me
So yeah he would love working with you
It always brightens up his day
He literally subconsciously smiles when you enter
You guys like to buy candy and stroll the around the city together
Now falling for you
It will be a very fun rollercoaster for our dear detective
You can sometimes be unexpected even to him
Despite being an open book and being the most energetic and sunshine bby in the agency
Sometimes he gets surprised with stuff you do
If you hug him out of excitement then he will be normal in front of you and hug you
With a cute “YAY Y/N-CHAN HUGS!”
But after you turn your cute face away he wil be a blushing mess
And alone
He will be reconsidering his life choices and thank the heavens about blessing him with you
Let’s talk about when someone makes you sad
He will guilt trip them and ruin their self-esteem
“Are you stupid enough to make Y/N sad?”
He will give you his candy so your cute smile can be present again
Kunikida Doppo:
Tumblr media
opposites attract check ✨
Yes queen
However he finds you somewhat more tolerable than another bandage wasting machine
He does keep your hyper state at bay though
“Y/N calm down.”
“YES SIR”
Smile at him though and he will let you do anything you want
Except blowing up the city 🤡
Enjoys your company when you are calm
Doesn’t mean he doesn’t when you are energetic
He enjoys it nonetheless but likes calm conversations between you two
Likes to softly smack you on the head with his book of ideals
SOFTLY AND LIGHTLY THO
He doesn’t like people who hit innocent ladies
Smiles at you when he sees you happy
Behind your back tho
A fond soft smile
Soft kunikida yay <3
He is like your legal guardian
“Y/N GET OFF THE ROOF!”
“COME AND GET ME hehe~”
Speaking of “hehe” or giggling
He loves it
And when he falls for you, your personality would be a major reason
“She doesn’t meet 13 of my ideals...HOW DID I FALL FOR HER”
Cue you laughing and greeting him
“Oh yeah that’s why”
You balance out the serious or stern attitude of his with the bubbly and energetic attitude of yours
Ruffles your hair when he is proud
Is kunikda the type to wink?
Absolutely not
Unless ;)
Sometimes you prank our dear blonde here so yes he gets a little mischievous with you
You are buried in a lot of work?
Kunikida will pass by and wink at you
Yes that fine man is what got you the work
And that’s the only time you will find him winking at your perfect figure (yes you are perfect and if you dare oppose then I will hug you to death)
Kunikida winking pls 🤭
He will scold anyone who dares and make you sad
“WE HAVE A RULE THAT LITERALLY SAYS NEVER MAKE Y/N SAD”
They don’t but he hates seeing you down
Chuuya Nakahara:
Tumblr media
You are his child that he will beat anyone that will touch or make sad
He sees you as this precious day of sunshine in the port mafia
That literally makes everyone smile
So
He protects you with his laifu cause you are a potential waifu
But we will talk about that later on
SO
He enjoys working with you
You make the mission much lighter to deal with
But
If he is annoyed and can’t handle any noise around him
Then he will calmly ask you to calm down and tell you that he had a rough day before
He loves how you are understanding and nod smiling
Pets your head
“AYE AYE DONT MAKE Y/N SAD OR I WILL FUCK YOU UP”
Kouyou taught elegance for nothing 😔
He starts falling for your cute self
At a point chuuya will view your smile as a blessing
Specially if he is the one who causes it
Loves your personality and how you never fail to cheer him up
Soft smiles whenever you aren’t looking cause my man has a reputation to keep
He adores your hugs btw
“Thanks sunshine”
Yes that is his nickname for you even before getting together
You know how sometimes people run their knuckles onto someone’s head when mad?
He does that when you do something stupid
But he does it gently
When you are sad
Then all hell is let loose
At everyone but you 🥰
And Mori cause Chuuya isn’t fucked up in the mind so he can mess with that guy
Will let you hug him out
Tries and make you smile by telling you funny stories about dazai and how stupid he is
“You are my sunshine. My only sunshine.”
A line he had wrote in his diary while describing you
Yes I believe he has a diary but it will die with him
Atsushi Nakajima:
Tumblr media
He adores you
Like another bby that will protect you
You are like Kenji but more energetic
He can never say no to you
Gets beyond flustered when you hug him
Likes seeing you hyper
Watches over you in case shit goes down
He enjoys missions with you
They are so much fun :0
You guys even go around Yokohama and get whatever you want after you are done
These cutesy smiles whenever you are super excited over something
Will get you anything and everything
Will apologize on your behalf if someone gets harmed by whatever you did
Per example
You broke a vase in the blinds of being so excited for the mission
Atsu will put you behind him and apologize
The owner of the bar of course will forgive you cause
A cute innocent boy and a ball of sunshine standing in front of him
He can’t be a cruel little shit to you so he lets you go without anything
Probably gives you something as a souvenir 🤡
He will do anything so you don’t ever feel down
However if you do then he will be by your side trying to making you laugh
Comfort you
You name it
He treasures your smile dearly even before loving you romantically
But as bby fell for you
He payed attention to little things you do even more
If he isn’t working on something on the agency then he is staring at you with a smile and releases a dreamy sigh
He could be going through a shit of a day and he will be at his best when he sees you
You know how he got flustered over hugging him?
Yeah now he becomes a tomato and lays on the floor fanboying
Simp
Whenever you greet him then he will blush, rub the back of his neck and waves shyly
His crush on you is so obvious though
Y/N RELEASE THE BOY FROM THE HELL OF BEING OBLIVIOUS TO YOUR FEELINGS AND TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM
Akutagawa Ryuunosuke:
Tumblr media
It’s heaven and hell for him hen he works with you
You are a great duo
But that’s not the actual heaven part
So what’s good about it is that he finds your presence sort of comforting
But GOODNESS IF YOU ARENT SO NOISY
He can’t handle it
Literally like tsukki to yams
“HEY AKUTAGAWA”
“Y/N shut up”
“No :D”
Little glares when you are too loud
He doesn’t really care about anyone around him
But
It slightly bothers him when you are down
He is so used to your bubbly and energetic attitude so to see something opposite to that is
Annoying in a sense or another
Flicks your forehead
“Cheer up idiot, it’s weird when you are sad”
How considerate wow
And falling for you would be something that surprised him
Aside from Higuchi trying to kill you
Aku started to savor your energetic attitude or aura
Slowly liked it
He even smiles a really really smol smile when you are looking at something
And like YOU ARE REALLYYYYY EXCITED
Pats you on the shoulder when proud
Yes he is copying “DAZAiIIIiiiiIi-sAaAaAAaaN”
Also now he can’t say no to you
“AKUTAGAWA I WANT CHOCOLATE”
“No”
Keep jumping around while smiling and saying please
And akutagawa will go “tch”
And let you get whatever you want
Oh yeah now that he likes you
Anyone that makes you sad loses an arm 😽
Overprotective

☀️🐟 💗 for shlee? i think he's cute
Thank you so much for asking!!
☀️ How well does your OC take care of themself? Do they tend to put others before their own wellbeing and if so how often? What is their favourite way to pamper themself?
Shlee is a *disaster* when it comes to taking good care of himself. For his defense, this is partially due to the lack of proper guidance as everyone in his close circles is a disaster at taking care of themselves in various, special ways. It's also due to his complete lack of salarian upbringing and having a parent that doesn't really go anywhere beyond the bare minimum of making sure the alien baby doesn't crumble and die --anything skincare-related is an approximation, and his food intake is only somewhat appropriate for salarian metabolism and its needs. So alone, this deteriorates even further: undersleeping or oversleeping, garbage food habits, a propensity for addictive behaviors and solving his problems with immediate solutions that might (and will) lead to long-term problems. He does drink water/hydrate his skin aaalmost as much as he should, so yay Shlee, one correct thing, congrats.
He also has a tendency to show that he cares/that he's invested by putting himself in unsustainable situations, and is afraid that pushing back or putting himself first might get him rejected, either professionnaly or with personal matters. Still: he does hold a grudge that he's being put into this situation, even by his own volition, and might snap about it at some point in the future.
I think Shlee is driven towards aesthetic things, so he will prepare himself fancier teas/cocktails based on how pretty they look rather than how they taste, and I think that's his best approximation of "taking care of himself".
🐟 What was your OC like as a baby? What were they like as a child? A teenager? An adult? How do you think they’ll develop ten years into their future? Twenty years? Will they live to old age?
Halfway Home will cover most of that in greater details, but Shlee changes *a lot*.
As a baby, he's very sick all the time and quite needy because of it, but will bite you if you do something he doesn't like. Very instinctive, because his body is busy fighting off a generalized poisoning that stifle his growth.
As a child, he's very obsessive about certain topics, sometimes unpredictible, and starts to become shy, anxious and closed off after a certain event. Can still be a bit much, and cares a lot about exactitude, which is very aggravating for his asari sister who doesn't remember things as well as him.
As a teenager, he learns to become agreeable, and morph his awkward, antisocial behavior into constant damage control. He tries to project reason and obedience above all, but secretely craves freedom and desecration. Still capable of audacity and pettiness, but will come off as more passive agressive at this point.
Then he becomes... barely an adult, more like a late teenager, when a lot of things in him explode. His anxiousness morphes into nervous immediacy, his prudence blows up into recklessness, and a lot of anger erupt and overflow, being a driving force of who and what he becomes. Shlee then becomes attached to justice and belonging, longs for more control and more power, but overcompensates this behavior with a tendency to punish himself in various ways as he discovers more and more elements about the circumstances of his birth and the realities of the world he lives in.
And I'm not going to spoil anything, but Shlee's life is going to be and remain a constant battle of explosion and collapse, of tolerating the consequences of his actions upon the world while not completely giving up on himself too. It's not going to be easy! He will find sporadic moments of peace, but healing is a complicated, messy path, and there are scars that never leave.
💗 Ramble a bit about this character!
I love him. ;_; No but really, Shlee is a hot mess that took me a while to get right. I think he's there now. He used to be biotic! This still matters to the plot now (biotic-ness or lackthereof), but he's no longer a biotic and I think this made the character, because he had to find strength elsewhere. This decision really sharpened his tongue and allowed him to become much more bold, in a way that grants him insane power sometimes, and also puts him in awful situations in others. His psyche is full of complicated things interplaying each other, but I think that his character journey makes sense now, and I'm happyyyy.
Anyway, he makes me laugh and cry, and I'm so fucking sorry I dumped all of my garbage unto this poor space frog that never asked for any of this. Thank you Shlee for dealing with the garbage!!!
Ask me about my OCs!

So, I recently recommended Castlevania to people based on the first 2 seasons, and having now seen the 3rd season I’m still keeping that recommendation but with some pretty strong warnings going in.
The TL;DR version is, I still recommend this series with the caveat that your mileage may vary depending on your tolerance for sexual themes and more specifically your sensitivity toward sexual assault.
So uh, spoiler in the spoiler disclaimer, but content warning for discussion of the above themes. I apologize to mobile readers; this got long. I only feel the need to say all this because I have in the past recommended this show to people before these elements came into play in the first 2 seasons. So, I kind of owe it to those people who may have taken my recommendation to follow through now.
I’m sure it won’t come as a shock to anyone (or at least I hope it won’t) that Castlevania, the show which introduces its wandering drunk protagonist by having him overhear two inbred shit eating peasants in a bar talking about literal goat fucking, has a pretty cynical view on humanity and is a pretty hard R.
Most of that R rating and cynicism has been in regard to gore and Christianity and I’ve been extremely on board and pettily here for it. For all that it’s a gory mess with plenty of colorful language, however, it’s been extremely restrained when it comes to sexuality.
For my ace ass, that was kind of an appeal. I’m not opposed to sexuality in my media, but people do tend to make it... egregious and often unbalanced. It often feels that any media that gets that R rating just goes “Fuck it, may as well!” regarding shoehorning its nudity and sexuality. And frankly, censorship laws in the United States are FUCKING ANTIQUATED AS ALL HELL, so a rape scene where the camera ogles the woman’s breasts as she’s assaulted? Yeah, sure, that’s an R. Consensual sex scene that shows no genitalia but the woman in clear arousal? That’s an NC-17 for you. And that’s just women; don’t get me started on queer censorship, we’d be here all day. So, given the country I live in, the fact that I like horror and fantasy, and the fact that I’m an asexual woman, you can maybe see where my stance on sexual themes in any adult oriented media is just, an exasperated sigh as I boredly sit through another rape scene.
So, our first scene in Castlevania S3 is of Alucard, having been alone for the last month now, slowly losing his mind to crippling loneliness and overwhelming guilt after having murdered his father where Trevor and Sypha took him at his word when he said he would be the lone guardian standing vigil over Dracula’s castle and the Belmont library. Turns out he was wrong about being fine, which we knew from last season as it ended with him alone in his room sobbing his heart out, but he’s already losing his grip here as he makes little puppets of Sypha and Trevor to carry conversation with. An eccentricity he fully acknowledges is insane.
Our next scene confirms through dialogue that Trevor and Sypha are now in a sexual relationship, even though they’re only ever shown cuddling up in bed talking about The Plot and various happenings a few episodes later. Nothing explicit is ever depicted between them.
Alucard, on the other hand, picks up a couple of strays who were the thralls of one of the vampires killed last season, specifically the evidently Japanese one named “Cho” and our two new characters............ I had to google their names, Sumi and Taka, are also Japanese. They ask him to train them to kill vampires to protect their clan. Alucard, clearly remembering what he said about “Think of all the things Dracula could have done if he’d put all this knowledge toward helping people instead of giving into his rage and destroying them,” decides to agree and help them. He is clearly trying to be the person his mother would have wanted. Aww.
Except not aww, Taka and Sumi are two clearly traumatized and deeply flawed people from the masses which this series is, again, extremely cynical toward. They are unsubtley fixated on learning more and more powerful ways to kill vampires and Alucard is pretty chill about it because he can’t see through the 4th wall and hear the ominous music or the glances they exchange when he’s not looking. This is purely for the audience. They at one point have a discussion away from him where they try to psychoanalyze him and decide that his isolation is a self imposed punishment for killing Dracula and that this is as close as he can get to killing himself without actually doing it. THIS IS FOR THE AUDIENCE. Then they mentioned they should give him a reward for what he’s done for them.
What happens next is difficult to break down from their standpoint, as they’re not particularly well developed characters, not being Important Characters but just a duo from the masses which the show dismisses, but if you’ve caught a single frame of Alucard this season, is easy enough to explain from his perspective. They come to him at night when he can’t sleep, tell him he deserves a reward, and proceed to make sexual advances toward him, which he seems somewhat embarrassed and confused by at first before quickly becoming a participant in. Again, it is well established by this point that he desperately misses Trevor and Sypha, whom he was already jealous of the connection between last season, and is profoundly lonely. The sex, which he consents to, is clearly a proxy as it’s all he can get for now. The sex is also, unfortunately, initiated under false pretenses, and ends abruptly when the whole thing turns into a Christ allegory and they pin Alucard in the crucifix position after having betrayed him with a kiss (and then some) and demand he show them the secrets they’re certain he’s hiding from them. Alucard tries to reason with them, still insisting he knows they’re scared but that he’s been nothing but honest with them, but they’re too traumatized and broken to believe him, and so he kills them in self defense, all still right there on the bed where they were having sex. He then, reminiscent of Dracula from the series opening, stakes their bodies before the entrance to the castle as a warning to those who would come to harm him, telling the audience that he is Lisa’s son in many ways, but he is also Dracula’s, and is realizing with time and experience now that his father’s sentiment toward humanity may not have been so misplaced.
So you know. Lot to unpack there...
BUT THAT AIN’T IT, FOLKS!
There’s another, far less interesting (unbiased review here, folks) character named Hector. He’s a forgemaster which means he makes monsters which are loyal only to him. He’s no Isaac (whom I’d mentioned his backstory/characterization just kinda left a general bad taste in my mouth before but OH BABY, AM I CHANGING TUNE ON THAT ONE. Could write a whole review on Isaac but I’m gonna stay focused here) but he’s apparently here to stay, so fine.
There was an evil femme fatale vampire last season who kinda bored me who tricked Hector into betraying Dracula and then took him captive when she got what she wanted out of him. She did not trick him with sex at least but was still “evil manipulative femme fatale” which... *yawn* In S3 she drags him back to her home country and then proceeds to talk to her own sort of war council on how to get him to make a monster army for them to use that won’t just kill them all.
The lesbian vampire war council are fuckin interesting and I love 2 of them. The other one is an actually evil seductress femme fatale who DOES manipulate him with sex. Yay. How original. Well at least there are finally enough interesting, compelling women in the story that this isn’t our token evil female vampire so it’s easy for me to shrug off and forgive. All you need to know about Hector is he played with dead animals as a kid, it freaked his parents out when he kept reviving dead things, he killed them, now he’s a dead critter loving sensitive weirdo who was willing to participate in a “humane cull” that would leave the human race in essentially livestock pens for vampires.
So the entire time the red headed femme fatale is trying to get him to see that she’s not so bad, vampires can be civil, we don’t want what Dracula wanted, my sister didn’t trick you she appealed to your reason, blahblahblah, she’s calling him a “good boy” and leading him on, i fucking quote, “walkies” with a leash. There’s also a comment that she tended to an injured spider once. So,, y’know, she’s him, which means she’s best suited to manipulating him. And Hector even admits to being aware of what she’s doing and calls her out on it, but he’s trapped and doesn’t have much of a choice other than to go along with what she does and weirdly seems almost content at times. His weird naturalist... weirdness probably gives him some inferiority complex when it comes to vampires, I don’t know, his backstory and motive are not connected in the least and I’m frankly not interested enough in this character to give him much contemplation since it’s pretty clear there wasn’t much going into his creation. Anyway. Long story short, she eventually, with only technically lying to him about the purpose of a particular ring she wears, lures him into having sex with her and in the heat of passion has him swear loyalty to her before slipping a cursed ring on him which binds him exactly as he’d just sworn, essentially making him a slave. The sex, again, also stops here, but she makes some extremely unsettling comments later on about how he was surprisingly good at sex and she might “train him.” Which.... where to begin other than yikes, and why, and, where in the hell was a guy who played with dead animals supposed to learn to eat a bitch out like that anyway??
This is where we also, tying the themes together, learn that one of the allies Trevor and Sypha have been teaming up with was a child killer the whole time. They only learn this after he dies helping them fight the evil that had come to his town (and after the most iconic line of the season; “What the fuck is toilet paper?”) which they accomplish, but not before failing to save anyone in the village, which was consumed in an evil ritual. They’re alone again, with a distraught Sypha realizing what Trevor had tried to forget by getting caught up in her optimism, that, say it with me now;
youtube
So there is your mostly unbiased spoilery context for the scenes in question. You can make up your own mind from there if that’s something you can handle, I’m gonna go on to add a few of my own thoughts which do not represent how I believe anyone else should interpret the show, this is purely my own train of thought here.
Sex consented to under false pretenses is still rape. I don’t know that I would personally classify these as “rape scenes,” but that’s just me. The reaction of the characters afterward makes me think Hector’s comes closer than Alucard’s, but the fact that both have appropriate reactions to being sexually betrayed makes me think that’s mostly what people are talking about when they say either one was raped. Hector later falls to his knees in a panic and hopelessness as he realizes “You made me a slave, my life is over,” and Alucard just lays there on the floor where he murdered his father as he weeps silently in contemplation of his own despair. That’s... some heavy shit, and I can, again, easily see where someone with a history of abuse or assault can be completely traumatized all over again watching this. As for the leeriness/attempting to be titilating/making rape “sexy” that a lot of adult fantasy/horror does... eh? I’m asexual, none of it’s sexy to me, and I was paying attention to the visual and audio cues the entire time that were making the audience aware with their ominous music, flashing between sex and battles against evil, and watching the instigators (Taka and Sumi, and Lenore the femme fatale vampire) as the camera focused on their scheming faces. The camera in Alucard’s scene especially just seemed to want to show us how sad and lonely he is, but that was pretty well established by that point and I know a sex scene devolving into a murder scene is jarring for people.
The themes of the season were manipulation, trust, and betrayal. Hector’s story reaches a pivotal turning point the moment the ring is slipped on him. Could it have been implemented differently than through the femme fatale seduction route? Absolutely, the show hadn’t really adopted sexual themes until this season and probably could have done so without it. She’d already lied to Hector an said that the rings were symbols she and her sisters wore to unite them, she could have been lying and welcomed him to join them and gotten him to swear loyalty to them in a ceremony after spending more time getting him to trust her. It was dumb and unnecessary and probably added in there just so maybe Alucard wasn’t the sole bearer of such an experience, or maybe because they shifted his plotline to fit in with the established themes, or maybe they could only sneak a bisexual threesome past the censors if they threw in more straight sex. What can I say? The cynicism of this show is relatable.
Alucard’s was less “Yikes” for me because he was never in a position where he didn’t have emotional or physical power over Taka and Sumi, he was a mentor to them who made no sexual advances whatsoever and seemed to only want to participate in their advances because it temporarily made him feel loved and worthy only to have the rug pulled out from under him and remind him that much more painfully of how alone he is, and how right his father may have been, and how wrong he was for killing him. Could this have been done without a sex scene? Yep, it always can. I know what the writers were trying to convey and I personally don’t have an issue with it and see its effectiveness, but I fully acknowledge another hour of spitballing in the writer’s room would have avoided that. I don’t necessarily think it’s a good or bad thing that they included this, it just... is, for me. I personally think if they’re going to confirm the sexual relationship between Trevor and Sypha, though, and then show us that Alucard is clearly missing them, there’s kinda one natural conclusion to make on how Alucard’s relationship with these two was going to go. I actually think it should have been better established and more time should have been spent on his relationship with them and depicted it as romantic/sexual from an earlier stage rather than just seemingly coming out of nowhere to people who hadn’t realized, “Oh, they’re his proxies,” earlier. I personally found it more tragic than traumatizing, but I don’t have a history of sexual abuse, so that is my own biased interpretation. If someone has that experience, I would not blame them in the least for finding this unpalatable.
Other arguments I’ve seen are, why is the only bi character shown to go through this kind of trauma? I mean, Alucard is our only confirmed bi character left for now, but Isaac is heavily implied to be queer, and again. Cynical universe. And he isn’t the only character period to go through it. They’re not singling him out because he’s bi, he’s just going through a character arc and is bi. I acknowledge again it could have been handled better but I don’t necessarily think this is biphobia so much as it is... unfortunate tone deafness. Tokenism is the problem, not Alucard’s bisexuality, so here’s hoping that we get another bi or queer character soon because as of right now, it’s just rife with unfortunate implications. I had this exact issue with Isaac’s backstory/characterization last season as our lone man of color with a major role and they immediately fixed his arc this season along with introducing several new characters of color and it was honestly the highlight of the season, so... the writers have proven to me that they can learn from their mistakes and spin my suspicion into HYPE, so I’m willing to give them through season 4 to see what they do with it.
I have also seen the argument for, why are the only Japanese characters tricky and sexually manipulative? Well, because they’re human and the show is extremely cynical in its depiction of humanity, we’ve just mostly seen that with white Europeans so far. As I mentioned before, tokenism is the problem. Is it annoying to see a sexually manipulative femme fatale vampire? Yes. Can I live with it and shrug it off a helluva lot easier when we get butch warrior vampire and tactical genius vampire talking back and forth about how they plan to conquer and drink an entire nation while espousing their affection for one another? Also yes!  While we do finally get a lot more characters of color this season who are fleshed out and beautifully complex and sympathetic, I think Taka and Sumi could have been better explored, since their mistrust of Alucard makes sense but their decision to have sex with him in order to get his guard down is... really not apparent other than through speculation with 0 textual evidence to support it. I don’t think they’re sexually manipulative because they’re Japanese, I think they’re sexually manipulative because the plot calls for it and they happen to be the only Asian characters we have for now and the writers made another pretty tone deaf decision. Behind the scenes, I do wonder if they were chosen from specifically Cho’s court just so the animators had an excuse to draw her some more/get that Japanese audience invested. Orientalism is a helluva thing here in the west though, and the sexualization of east Asians is especially fucked up and I’m not gonna say this did not have catastrophically tone deaf implications. I hope we get more Asian characters with a nuanced depiction, and even though they are the only Asian characters, they are not the only sexual abusers and they are far from the only sympathetically broken but dangerous characters we see.
This is also, I’m fairly certain, a dual-studio production, and I do know Castlevania is a Japanese video game series based on European vampire stories, and in the endless love letter between Japanese and American media, some things gets botched in the exchange. That doesn’t excuse it, and that doesn’t mean it isn’t harmful, but I also don’t think it means “Cancelvania.” But I’m Mexican-American, and Not Asian-American, or more specifically Japanese-American, so, this is purely my perspective.
I won’t defend the choices, I certainly won’t argue with people who draw a line in the sand and say “This is unacceptable, I won’t watch this,” that’s a valid perspective to have. To me, the writers through Isaac have proven they know when and how to correct course when they need to, so I’m cautiously optimistic that this was all build up for a dynamite season 4 if/when we get it. The show is cynical, I’m cynical, but I can recognize careful writing when I see it, and to me the highlights of this unrepentantly stupid fucking show that I kinda love are gonna be worth sticking through the stuff that makes me wrinkle my nose with concern because I want to see where it goes. A time may come when that stops being the case, but for me it hasn’t reached that point yet. I completely understand if it has for anyone else though.

[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Two Hundred Eighty-Four: Apple Pie ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata ] [ SasuHina ] [ Verse: Best Years of Your Life ] [ AO3 Link ]
Though he never would have thought as much when he was first shoehorned into this class, Sasuke has to admit...Home Ec has grown on him. While he’s still a good student and honestly enjoys most of his classes at least somewhat, there’s just something really...nice about that class in particular. Sure, it’s not just baking cookies everyday, but it’s become a nice change of pace compared to everything else.
He tells himself it’s because the class is just so...different. He’s actually learning some handy skills, even if most guys wouldn’t bother. He’s handier in the kitchen than ever, knows several ways to sew by hand (and how to use a machine), and they’ve even broached into things like human development. Never did he think he’d know so much about babies...but, well, you never know. Maybe he’ll have to...deal with one someday.
But if he’s honest with himself - truly honest - there’s another very big factor to why he’s come to enjoy the class as much as he does.
Strolling into his last block of the day, Sasuke finds himself to be a little early, and almost alone. There’s an away basketball game, and several of the girls typically present are absent, either as part of the team, or the cheer squad. Along the whiteboard, he reads the daily instructions. Apparently, given the low class percentage, they’re just having a free day.
Before he can stop himself, Sasuke perks up...because he knows exactly what that’s going to mean.
“Hi, everyone!”
Turning, he gives a lax wave to the only other senior in the class: Hinata Hyūga. “Hey. Seems we’ve got a free day with the game today.”
“Oh?” Like him, she seems to brighten at the notion. “That’s great! I’ve had a recipe I’ve been wanting to try with you!”
“Yeah?” Sasuke does his best to temper his reaction, despite the warmth the notion brings him. “Something we can finish in class?”
“Well...it might go a little over...is that okay?”
“Yeah, I’ve got nothing to do. A few teachers lightened up because of the game, so I’ve got hardly any homework.”
“Me too! O-okay, we’ll do it then!” Digging into her binder, she pulls out a recipe with a grin. “Apple pie!”
Sasuke blinks, looking the paper over. “...is it very sweet?”
“Well, sort of...but the apples are a bit sour, so that sort of...balances it out?”
“...okay.” He won’t admit it, but he’s not quite so put off by sweets anymore. Not since meeting Hinata.
The pair move to the kitchen wall, first gathering their ingredients and a pie plate. “So I actually use a different pie crust recipe...it’s just a few ingredients you mix and press in the plate, and bake with the rest of the pie! It’s so much easier than rolling stuff out,” Hinata offers, flipping the page over and showing the separate crust instructions. “You want to do that, first?”
“Uh, sure.”
“Great! I’ll start peeling and cutting the apples!”
Having not actually made a pie yet, Sasuke follows the recipe carefully, wary of messing something up. But true to Hinata’s word, it’s actually pretty simple. Mixing up the handful of ingredients, he smoothes it along the bottom before announcing, “Okay, now what?”
“Here, mix up the spices and sugar for the apples - I’m almost done!”
He does as asked, not bothering to quip or question. By now, the pair have done enough baking together to just know how to go about it. Hinata leads, and Sasuke follows. In all reality, he’s probably gotten enough practice to lead himself, but...well, he hasn’t given that a try just yet.
Hinata pours his mix over the sliced apples, coating them well and putting them in the pie plate atop the crust. “All right, I think we’ll do the Dutch style topping.”
“...what’s that mean?
“It’s a crumbly sort of top, rather than a solid sheet of crust!” She shows him how, pulsing the ingredients in a food processor until they form, well...crumbles! “Now we just spread this over the top...and there we have a pie! It has to bake for about fifty minutes, so...we’ll run over class by a little bit. But I don’t think the teacher minds.”
With the oven already hot, it’s Sasuke who puts it in, setting the timer. They tidy up, and then...it’s time to wait.
As per usual, they pass the time on their phones, the instructor hardly caring on such a relaxed day. Hinata plays a mobile game, Sasuke browsing a forum he frequents.
But eventually they get bored.
“So...what’s your favorite kind of pie?”
“I honestly don’t eat much of it. Too sweet most of the time.”
Hinata makes a face. “I still don’t understand that…”
“Well what about you?”
“I’d say...lemon meringue.”
“Lemon?”
“Mhm!”
“What’s...meringue?”
“It’s egg whites and sugar, beaten together until it’s light and fluffy! You bake it, and the tops turn a light brown...it’s so good. Maybe we’ll try one next time! It’s actually pretty simple.”
“I could maybe do lemon if it isn’t too sweetened.”
The bell eventually rings, and the pair linger, their teacher more than used to them staying past the bell. It’s not too long before the timer dings, and Sasuke retrieves the pie. It actually smells...really good! Cinnamon and nutmeg just might make it tolerable.
“Want some ice cream?”
“Is...pie really not enough?”
“Apple pie and vanilla ice cream are like...a match made in heaven!”
“I’ll pass.”
“How about caramel sauce?”
Sasuke blinks owlishly. “...I think it’ll be sweet enough.”
Hinata dishes some up, indulging in a little bit of some ice cream left over from the day they all made a batch by hand. And then she seems to hover in wait, eager as always to see his reaction.
Sasuke takes a bite of his own, chewing thoughtfully. “...I like it.”
“Yay!”
“It’s not so sweet.”
“I went a little light on the sugar for you.” Hinata then digs into hers, humming happily.
“...you know...I’m gonna be really sad when this class is over.”
That makes her pause. “...are you...switching next semester?”
“Dunno yet. But I only needed the half a credit.”
“Oh...well, I was going to stay. There aren’t really any classes I need in this block next semester.” She gives a halfhearted smile. “It’ll be sort of l-lonely without you.”
“Yeah...I’ll have to see what the guidance counselor says. My dad’s riding me pretty hard about pumping up my grades for applications.”
“Well, that makes sense. It’s important. I’m still not sure what I’m doing next year, so...I’ll admit I took a bit of an easier road than I could have.”
“It’s different for everybody. Gotta do what makes you happy, too.”
“Yeah…”
The pair sink into a slightly awkward silence. In truth, he’d be more than happy to stay. And surely his mother would support it. His father, on the other hand…
“Well, if you do switch, I’m still glad you were in here,” Hinata then offers, smiling a bit more warmly. “It’s been a lot of f-fun teaching you stuff!”
“Yeah? It’s been nice learning it. Maybe we can still make some stuff after school sometimes, when we’re not too bogged down.”
“I...I’d like that!”
“Then consider it a plan.”
The atmosphere then lightens until he gives the clock a glance. “But, speaking of...it’s getting kinda late. Think we should go?”
“Probably...want to take some pie home?”
“Sure.”
They each take a few slices, Sasuke sure his mother would like some. If only Itachi were home, but...well, that won’t be until Winter break. The pair part ways in the hallway, Sasuke going to pack up his stuff for the evening. The thought returns as to what to do come the end of the semester.
He really does want to stay...and surely half a credit won’t make that big of a difference, right? Maybe he’ll talk to Mikoto about it...sighing and picking up his bag, he leaves the school behind, apple pie carefully nestled in his backpack.
                                                       .oOo.
(This is a sequel to days 98, 108, 139, and 227!)      I have...fallen another day behind OTL Yesterday was just exhausting, in more ways than one, so...I took the night off. I'm sorry ;n; I probably won't have time to catch up until at least the end of October since I have another challenge going on, but! Hopefully by the end of the year I'll be done on the last day, aha~      Anyway! More of our cute lil Home Ec AU. I really do love this one, it's just so stinkin' sweet. But it seems we have a little bit of a plot conflict...Sasuke might be leaving the class? Say it ain't so! We'll have to see what his decision is come the end of the semester, but...at least he and Hinata will keep on keepin' on no matter what!      But with that, I really need to get to bed, lol - thanks for reading!

lynch. - natalie interview, 2018.02.02
Original interview: You Masuda Original version can be seen here
kyotaku: if you notice any mistakes, typos etc please let me know! :)
Akinori returns. Due to his arrest for the violation of Cannabis Control Law in November of 2016, he left the band the same year. But about a year later his come back was announced when he appeared during the encore at the show held in their hometown, 'lynch. COUNTDOWN LIVE 「2017-2018」'. With this the band will be once again reorganized as a 5 person unit at their 13th anniversary show 'lynch. 13th ANNIVERSARY-XIII GALLOWS- 「THE FIVE BLACKEST CROWS」' which will be held on March 11th at Makuhari Messe. Before that show takes place, Natalie talks with the 4 members about their activities during this year when they collaborated with various support bassists. We talked about the whole story leading to the announcement of Akinori's return, their enthusiasm towards participating at Messe with 5 members and their vision of lynch.'s future.
Akinori's return announced with the beginning of 2018
-Akinori's return has become official at the countdown show in Nagoya. It must have been the first year's end like that ever.
葉月: Yeah. There was so much to do. Way too many things on that day, as I was running around keeping up with them and suddenly it was midnight! It didn't really feel like year's end. I have participated in the countdown events before, but it was a first oneman concert for us. Usually on New Year's Eve I would be drinking at some events or watching TV shows with family at home (laughing). This time Akinori made the announcement near midnight, but to be honest we weren't sure if the timing will work out that way. There were many things to be done for the official return, somehow we managed to tie it all together until suddenly it was the time for the announcement, personally I was very nervous. First, we didn't know how fans would react. They could have accepted it or gotten angry booing us from the stage. Also we were starting the show worrying to the point of thinking 'what should we do if suddenly the sound of Akinori's bass doesn't appear here?'. And performance wise his appearance on stage was also quite artistic.
-That's true. Only 4 members had appeared in the Makuhari Messe trailer that was screened last year in August at Yaon, but the version from the countdown show had an extra scene with Akinori added. Exactly at the same time, Hitoki (from Kuroyume), who was acting as a support bassist for the first part of the concert, had handed the bass to Akinori. It was very touching.
葉月: The footage used my idea, but it was Hitoki who proposed to hand the bass to Akinori. I think it made the majority of fans happy. Of course I know it's not like everyone accepts it, but seeing the response on twitter etc I think there are many positive comments. Having said that, I don't have a feeling like 'I did it!' or 'I might have done something wrong'. I greeted 2018 with a strange sensation like that. I feel calm in a way.
What all members decided with the same intention.
-How was it for you, Asanao?
晁直: Since it was decided that Akinori will announce his return at the countdown show, obviously there was some anxiety. Even when his announcement was done I couldn't judge if that was the right way to do it or not. But even saying that, I think the normal way of simply announcing it would be wrong. Maybe some people were convinced by the way it was presented including the video, surely there were also some people who felt judgmental, but I think that was the best choice at that moment. I guess there will be some criticism no matter what. But doing the announcement this way, I hope it made everyone happy. It might be better to say that's how I'm trying to think (laughing).
悠介: For me the countdown show was the start of the preparation for Makuhari Messe. So to be honest I wasn't much aware of AK's return announcement. Even as he made his announcement there, it will be Makuhari on March 11th when he will really be back. So I was trying not to think how it will be until then. -You said on the stage at the countdown show that it was not the true 'welcome back'. Was it said with this meaning behind it?
悠介: This as well, but also I think it will be a really tough path for him and us having him coming back. Of course I don't know what the future will bring, but there is a chance it will be like that (bad). I want to say 'welcome back' again when everyone will reach the welcoming feeling, even if it will not become 100% like that. So anyway, each and every his action will be judged now and used to rebuild the trust, so I will be watching him strictly (be severe).
玲央: There was that super nervous feeling about the performance that day, 'Akinori is coming to play today'. As Hazuki said, it felt like we couldn't fail, the atmosphere was quite different from the usual. To tell the truth, that day Akinori and I were the first ones to enter the venue with the staff. I thought that it was quite different to him coming later because he did something that forced him to leave [the band]. 'There will be a longer waiting at the venue, but I will ride too' – with that he rode in the same car with me to the venue. It was really tense when we were getting in.
―The atmosphere was like that.
玲央: Even as I made plan according to Hazuki's idea, it wasn't for Akinori, I thought it would be a wonderful thing for the fans who were waiting for him. I think Akinori himself understood this intention and accepted the plan for the stage, there was not a trace of misunderstanding that the whole thing was prepared for him. Naturally, there is also the reality of 'he's not back yet' as Yusuke said. So it was really a strange, complicated feeling. At the time Akinori was neither a band member nor a guest, nor a support bassist. He was sitting in the dressing room aaaaaall day long (laughing). But there's no mistake that all of us including him had the very same intention being at that place.
Upon a careful judgement: punishment, restart, return.
-Obviously there was no feeling like 'he's back, yay!'. Actually, you could not feel the atmosphere on the stage at all.
葉月: I think so. When being asked 'you were preparing for his return for a long time, right?', of course we were, including the footage that accompanied the whole plan for the stage. If you worry about everything you're not able to do anything... actually, I was preparing. I didn't know if we would be able to go with the plan until the last moment. I was preparing while waiting for the decision, when we got the ok we started acting immediately, getting things like images ready. It might have ended with the second part of the promotional footage (part with AK) never being shown to the world.
―Of course there were many issues to consider or adjust, including the situation in your office (label). If I were to put it businesslike, would it be accurate to say 'Akinori showed enough remorse through the whole 2017'?
葉月: That's right. But he will only become a proper member from March 11th. We just wanted to make the announcement in advance. There will be people who will think 'I want to go if Akinori'll be there', surely they will be people who will think the opposite. We wanted to give fans the time to think about it.
-Thus there are 70 days from the announcement to the day of the show. It might be a somewhat hard question, but weren't there originally any objections within the band about Akinori's return?
葉月: Saying that, even before that Akinori himself was in a state where he couldn't decide if he wants to be in lynch. or not.
-Even as one wants to do something wholeheartedly, considering various aspects related to the issue they might think they should quit.
葉月: True, just being in front of people will be quite scary. As soon as he became able to go outside I first invited him for a drink. I asked him 'I'd like to eventually return [where we were], but how about you?' He wasn't able to answer then. So I couldn't talk to the other members or management about bringing him back.
玲央: That was probably the end of December of 2016. Starting from January in 2017, we have gathered once a month together with our staff to discuss the future of lynch. Firstly, for how long should we pause our own activities and so on. And during those talks came the request from Hazuki: 'I want to bring Akinori back if possible. Even if we lose our contract with the record company, I want to bring him back'.
-There were such talks when Akinori just left.
玲央: Yet as the result of our many talks we had decided it would be an ingratitude to leave our company that we were indebted to since our major debut with such reasons. We have arrived at a conclusion that we could let the company consider the ideas properly while we get support members, release some music and play shows. It was not about being able to move ahead when there were disagreements, rather it was about that Akinori would lose his place upon coming back if we had forced to proceed. So until we would be able to have talks about this, we just had to try our best first. Adding one more thing, it wasn't meant as a purification, but our staff came with a plan 'how about having him act like an apprentice/intern for some period of time?'.
 ... He's an idiot.
-Giving him work similar to being a roadie, like an apprentice/probation member?
玲央: Yeah. I think the idea itself makes sense. By adding a reasonable distance from the band you can avoid losing things like one's good sense. However, we were worried that if fans saw him they wouldn't tolerate that. Instead by having him separated from the stage and music activities we had him realize how much influence he got over the band. And also realize the appreciation, the greatness of being able to do music activities. Precisely because I thought it's something obvious, that there will be some errors made.
葉月: He obviously messed up, but I felt that if he wants to be back I want to have him back. Even though we are a band that didn't have a bassist for a long time in our indies days, but he has made a place for himself in this band. Honestly speaking, for about a year we had multiple support bassists working with us, during that time the sense that Akinori is missing slowly got dimmer and dimmer.
-It was like that.
葉月: Saying that, I could again keenly feel the 'excellence of a great performer' as I kept being impressed when musicians who help us as support members shaped the image of the songs immediately. The moment when that dimmed sense sparked up again was at the rehearsal for the countdown show. When Akinori played the intro to 'INVADER', coming to the studio for the first time in one year, I just thought 'that guy is amazing!'. Until then the sense that something was missing wasn't strong, but that very moment the missing puzzle piece perfectly went into place. Of course it wasn’t about the difference in skills compared to the support musicians, I was just strongly persuaded that 'for this band it's this sound'. I remember a sense of security coming from that.
悠介: Overall, there was a difference in the sense of security after all. It might be simply that we have been playing together for a long time, but talking about the sense of security, all other bass players fall behind. Is it his personality or character, you just can't hate this guy.
晁直: The level of expectations towards him has been increasing since before the rehearsal. But I've heard he said to some common acquaintance 'I'm gonna get 3 times better at bass during this year' (laughing).
葉月: He's an idiot (laughing).
玲央: I don't think he got 3 times better (laughing).
悠介: This part of him is very important (laughing).
晁直: I did not mention this is a bad way (laughing). I thought - this part of him will not change. He was removed from lynch. for one year, right? So even if he knows the official part of what was going on with lynch ., he does not know the other side. So sometimes I feel like I want to ask 'do you really get it?' about what he has done.
Preparing to overcome the steep path
-He can only try to imagine what you felt or what kind of problems you were dealing with while he was absent.
晁直: Yeah. I know it's something unavoidable, but it's like fighting with this impulse to ask 'do you get it?'. In short, he's someone like that (laughing). -Actually, he's the youngest one in the band, but there's also something like brotherly feeling in this group.
玲央: That's true. I think a band is all about balance. It's the same as for airplanes, if you project the power from the engines in only one place it will not fly well. I think it is essential to establish a balance between us in order to be able to continue the band for a long time. It was a big thing to determine 'Akinori is needed to keep that balance'. I have a similar feeling to what Asanao explained (laughing), although to be able to get our usual balance back will take some time.
- I see. Little earlier Hazuki explained how he felt Akinori was missing [from lynch.] upon listening to his bass, but I felt like that when listening to his back vocal at the countdown show. "Oh, yeah, originally this song has a vocal like that here'.
葉月: There’s interesting story connected to that. While Akinori was absent, it was Reo that worked on choruses. So as a result, hearing that Reo now can sing Akinori asked 'so it's fine if I don't sing anymore?' (laughing). I told him: 'both of you will sing!'
玲央: Is that supposed to be modesty? (laughing)
-It was very impressive to see him standing on the stage and talking with his own words.
玲央: Initially he didn't have confidence to just speak, so he said he wanted to read the text prepared earlier. But as that is rude I told him on the day 'don’t you look at the script!'. I told him 'It's more important to just speak about the things you feel at the time. If you speak earnestly you will be able to convey everything'. With that he spoke for longer than it was planned, I was surprised. Of course I don't know if he was able to reach every single person, but by presenting our stance and music through the future activities the people who were not reached by [his words] will have no other choice than to turn around again. And that's why the future path is very steep. March 11th to show the improved form
-I think that the countdown show is a really good start towards Makuhari. Like the 1st step of the preparations.
悠介: That's right. It was also a specific check up on the performing environment. At Makuhari we will be playing using special ear monitors. I have used them before, but it's been a while. We have to get used to them again for Makuhari, so I used them on that day.
 - You had such a specific preparation. And the blank [schedule] between the start of the year until March 11th – you won’t be spending all of that time on preparations?
葉月: Actually we are quite busy. As you know, we have to make new songs (laughing). We're already having talks about the setlist for Makuhari, 'let's do such thing here' and so on. At the same time, we just recently decided on the audience area plan and capacity. A number that makes you ask 'can that many people enter?' (laughing). But the final image is not ready yet. Yet, the main theme I have for this performance is to take one new step at Makuhari Messe and keep going to higher and higher levels. I want it to become a performance where you can feel like the band called lynch. improved, that we ventured into a new world again. That's why we have to show others a performance and conduct that is not embarrassing as an experienced band (?). Now I only have such an obscure idea.
玲央: There were various support bassist who have helped us during those 8 months without Akinori. When Hitoki passed the bass to Akinori at the countdown show it had a meaning 'we're entrusting you the feelings of all support members'. Actually, when I heard those words, them entrusting their thoughts, it didn't feel like it was only to Akinori, but to all of us. That's why I see it as a minimum we should do, not to have shows where we would be told 'it was better when Hitoki was playing' or 'it was better when someone else was on support', and at the same time I feel that the bar was raised quite a high.
- You can really feel the love in Hitoki's message.
玲央: I thought 'the senpai will beat junior's ass' (laughing). But I was really grateful for that. We were also inspired thinking 'we also can't continue like that', it's not only about Akinori. So of course we want to make many fans happy, but also we have to give the best performance that will make people who actually come to see us and who support us say 'that was so cool'. I've made this goal now.
晁直: In a few days after the countdown show the way I see performing at Makuhari has changed completely. Before I was just thinking that Makuhari will be a show through which lynch. will climb higher. However there's Akinori's return, some people are happy about it, some are not. And if both will come to see us play, we will have to make both of them happy. Because of that we have more to worry about than before. At the end of the day, concert is just a concert, but if possible I want to try giving a performance that will shut everyone up. If we manage to overcome this I think it would help us grow/improve further.
悠介: We have to change. We have to give concerts that will take us higher and higher, there's no meaning to it if we just say that we've played at some huge venue. It's crucial to see if we can set a new starting point there. If we can make people follow us. That's what's very important.
葉月: That's why being perfectly prepared, as a band I want us to perform on a stage at Makuhari in a healthy state. If I can do that, I can confirm that I can clear everything I was aiming for, I plan to prepare well and approach that day.
-I'm really looking forward to it. And I assume you will continue working on new songs for the next album that will be announced in the future?
葉月: That’s right. The time of announcement etc is still not decided, but until Makuhari we should have more new song ready, I should be able to explain more that time as well (about the next album). Saying simply, I’m thinking of the perfect image of lynch. as I focus on us who should be able to grow through the performance at Makuhari and putting that into songs. I appreciate being able to properly pursue that ideal.

Can I ask for the GOM (including Kuroko) and Himuro reacting to a girl who has a crush on him, but he doesn't know until her friends tell him?
*cries* I finally have my computer up andrunning again!!! Also requests for Himuro make me very happy because I feellike he doesn’t get enough love.
Kuroko:  “Ok, but why does ____ like Kuroko-kun? He’slike a ghost. It’s kinda creepy,” one of the girls in the group cringed.
The boynearly stopped in his tracks when he heard those words. Not the thing about himbeing a ghost, since he kinda expected that. His lack of presence was somethinghe was well aware of, obviously.
He heard thename of a girl that was in his class. Andthat she liked him. They sat on opposite sides of the classroom, but shewas pretty. Kuroko felt his face heat up at learning this new information thatthe girl liked him. A part of him wanted to confront her about it, but a partof him wanted to see if she’d gain the confidence to tell him. He walked toclass with a spring in step and a small smile on his face.
Akashi: A girl known for being… in kinderterms, a floozy, came up to Akashi one day and thankfully he already had arejection speech ready. He wasn’t interested in relationships at the moment, especially not with someone who wouldn’t take it seriously.
“Akashi-kun,I’m a good friend of ____, and she would never tell you herself, but she has analmost debilitating crush on you.” She tossed hair over her shoulder andscoffed. “She’s such a pansy sometimes, but I figured if I told you then youmight be able to do something about it.”
With that, she walked away, leaving Akashi somewhat dumbfounded. He blinked cluelessly fora few moments before he sat down at his desk. He knew the girl; in fact she satright next to him. She was nice, didn’t get the best grades in class, but heknew she worked hard.
He put hischin in his hand and grinned a little to himself. Maybe he could use thisinformation to his advantage to get to know her better…
Aomine: When the ace heard that a girl had acrush on him, he wasn’t really fazed. After all, he was a total stud, so of fucking course a ton of girlsliked him. This wasn’t anything new, but something bothered him about it.
Her friendshad told him. He felt like that was breaking unspoken girls’ code or something.
He askedSatsuki, and she’d been dumbfounded.
“What kindsof friends does she have?!” the pink-haired girl demanded. “That is one thingthat girls don’t do!!! I mean, unless they think that they have a better chance, but… Jesus, this really pisses me off! I’m gonna go and become her bestfriend!!!”
With that, she’d stormed off, leaving a baffled Aomine on the roof. Maybe if Satsuki wasgoing to become her best friend, he’d see her around, and he figured thatwouldn’t be too bad.
Kise: When yet another girl traipsed up toKise, he had to plaster a smile onto his face again. He hated when girlsconfessed to him on the roof; it was so cliché. If someone was to confess tohim, he wanted it to be original.
This girl, though, she had a sly smirk on her face. “I have a feeling you get a lot ofconfessions up here,” she said with her hands behind her back.
“Yeah…” Kiseraised an eyebrow. “What are you getting at?”
“You’re notgonna get one from me,” she giggled. “I already have a boyfriend. But I’m hereon behalf of my best friend, ____. She’s too shy to confess to you herself, andI thought I might tell you to give her a push in the right direction.”
Kise wasvery confused at this point. “Uh, so… what does that mean?”
“It meansthat I’m putting the ball in your court, Kise,” she shrugged. “Whether or notyou do anything with this information is completely up to you, but I think evenif you talked to her, even to give her a rejection, she would be over the moonthat you even noticed her.”
“And what ifI told her that you told me?” he wondered.
“She’dprobably kill me, but I wouldn’t regret it.”
With that, the girl walked away and down the stairs. Kise plopped down on the roof andthought. He’d heard that name before; after all they were in the same class. Maybehe should talk to her a little.
Midorima: Takao bounded up to Midorima atpractice one day with a huge smile on his face.
“No,”Midorima said as soon as Takao got to him.
“But youdidn’t even hear what I’m going to say,” Takao pouted.
“I don’tcare, the answer is already no.”
“ButShin-chan! Just hear me out! Please?”
Midorimarolled his eyes and looked at his teammate. “Fine. What?”
“Yay! So,there’s this girl who has a crush on you, and I totally think you should askher out because she’s really, really great and I think you’d like her a lot.And honestly her crush on you is embarrassing and I’ve tried to convince her totell you herself but she’s way too shy. So I decided to take it into my own twohands.”
Takao’s barrageof words stunned Midorima. “Wait…”
It took afew more seconds for it to finally sink in and when it did, the boy blushed andturned away from his friend. “Whatever,” he scoffed, grabbing a basketball.
“So is thata yes?” Takao smirked. “Because I’m gonna text ____-chan right now and tell herthat you’ll take her out on a date this Friday night.”
“NO!”Midorima shouted louder than he’d anticipated. “I’ll… do it myself,” hemuttered.
In allhonesty, he’d noticed ____ a little more since she’d started hanging out withTakao, and developed an interest in her. She seemed to be nice, since shetolerated Takao, and he wouldn’t mind someone like her.
Murasakibara: He was honestly surprised when agroup of girls approached him. Because of his height, he almost never got totalk to girls. Not that he really cared either way, if he was honest.
“Murasakibara-kun!Um…” the seeming leader of the group averted her eyes as soon as she glanced upat him.
“We justwanted to tell you about our friend, ____!” another girl added.
“She’s had acrush on you for forever!”
With that, the three of them ran away, leaving the purple giant more confused than heusually was. He shrugged and turned around to go back to the vending machine toget his favorite snack when he saw a girl standing in the middle of thehallway. Her face was pale and she looked terrified. She must’ve overheard.
He cockedhis head to the side. “Are you ok, ____?” he wondered. She was the manager ofhis basketball team, after all, and it wouldn’t do any good for her to be sickor something.
“Uh… Yeah, yeah, I’m fine,” she nodded, letting out a sigh of relief.
“So you likeme, huh, ____?” he drawled.
She trippedover her feet and fell on her face, amazed that he’d put two and two together.Usually he was so unobservant, but she supposed she had her friends to thank.
Himuro: Himuro Tatsuya was by no meansunpopular with girls. He was kind, attentive, and quite a gentleman. He alwaysseemed to be just out of everyone’s reach, though.
He washanging out by himself in the gym one day during lunch, and he heard a group ofgirls approaching through the door. He sighed and resigned himself to smilingfor them and pretending to be the ideal person he knew everyone thought him tobe.
The girlswere giggling endlessly and he groaned internally. They were the flutteringpreppy girls who usually tried to hit it off with him.
“Himuro,we’ve got something to tell you!” one of them grinned.
He raised aneyebrow. He then realized how strange it was for a bunch of girls to come tohim at once.
“What’s up?”he wondered, smiling a bit.
“You know____, right?” another girl asked.
“Yeah,” heshrugged. He’d seen her around, and he was pretty sure she was inMurasakibara’s class. She seemed to like him well enough; at least she wasn’tscared of him like some people.
“Well, she totally has a crush on you, and we thinkyou two would make a good couple!” the last girl piped up.
Himurobarely contained his surprise. Usually girls were willing to kill for a chanceat him, even though he always turned them down. And yet here these girls were, trying to get their friend a chance.
“Huh,” henodded. “Interesting. I’ll look into it, thanks for the tip.”
This girlmust be extraordinary for her to have friends willing to give up their shots atdating Himuro to try to set her up with him.

Oldham Personality Styles/Traits Test Results
(Clicky Clicky)
For comparision, here’s my results from other typology systems: INTP (LII-Ne), 5w4 sp/sx (548), RULAI, Chaotic Neutral, Lunar, Melancholic, Ravenclaw, Horned Serpent
Idiosyncratic types are tuned in to and sustained by their own feelings and belief systems, whether or not others accept or understand their particular worldview or approach to life. They are self-directed and independent, requiring few close relationships. Though they are inner-directed and follow their own hearts and minds, Idiosyncratic men and women are keen observers of others and particularly sensitive to how other people react to them. They tend to question common beliefs and expectations. They are highly spiritual and do not close their minds to any possibility, always asking what if?' They tend to have a deep inner life, act eccentrically, and live in their own world. They may be interested in the occult or the supernatural and are drawn to abstract and speculative thinking. Fitting into everyday, conventional life can be difficult for Idiosyncratic people. Others may view them as strange, which can be a problem in jobs and relationships. They must live life their own way and sometimes regret they cannot do things in the orthodox fashion. The pressure to conform presents intolerable stress for them. Two key factors affect the quality of Idiosyncratic lives: whether they can find an accepting environment and how well they adapt to others' expectations. Few work settings tolerate eccentricities of behavior, unless the individual has a great deal to offer by way of intelligence or talent. Some Idiosyncratics do well with one ear tuned in to their own personal worlds and one outward to what the boss expects of them. Others, however, have a hard time understanding or accepting authority. Idiosyncratic people do not need other people to give their lives direction or meaning. If they can't find partners who accept their unconventionality, they usually do well on their own. Some are content to experience several relationships in their lives without necessarily finding their one and only.
Everything except the superstitions bit (I’m actually an atheist), though I did have an esoteric phase in my teens and enjoy mythology and random speculation (as just that, stories)
Solitary types have little need of companionship and are most comfortable alone. They do not need interaction with others to enjoy life. Self-possessed and self-controlled, these individuals are alone because they want to be alone, not because they feel left out. Free of the passionate need for others, they can be quite content standing back and watching others. Indeed, they are often gifted observers of nature and of other people. Emotionally, highly Solitary people are even-tempered, calm, dispassionate, unsentimental, and unflappable. They display an apparent indifference to pain and pleasure and are not driven by sexual needs. They are not greatly influenced by either praise or criticism. They function well at work. They get down to work quickly and don't spend much time fraternizing at the water cooler. While they usually do not do well within the political framework of larger companies, when left alone to do their work, they can put their mind to it with unusual concentration. Solitary individuals can be content within relationships as long as their partner accepts their need for solitude. However, even moderately Solitary people may not intuitively comprehend others' feelings or respond to their emotional cues. 'You don't love me!' is a common lament of partners of Solitary people. The more the partner pushes for emotional reactions and a depth of intimate feeling, the greater the stress on the Solitary person. To cope, he or she will retreat. The partner would be better off recognizing signs of caring that are different from the usual I-want-you, I-need-you, l-love-you's.
Ugh that last paragraph, that exact same relationship problem. I don’t often hear the concept of “So introverted even your loved ones sometimes stress you out” in a way that doesn’t conflate it with misanthropy. Like I don’t want to make anyone feel bad or ignored (thats a horrible thing to do) but im not good at this.
I wouldn’t describe myself as self-controlled or good-at-work (probably due to other traits in the mix) though I can concentrate when the time & subject are right. (otherwise im more on the distractable side tho. or it depends on what it is.) I distinctly remember taking some test/assesment and getting a high score specifically for concentration, i think it was the highest overall (the lowest was motor function. 11 year old me could not catch a ball to save her life.)
As a child or teen I would often start reading at noon and be so concentrated on the book I’d fail to notice the passage of time until my mom came in to get me for supper and asked why I hadn’t turned the light on.
I don’t think I’m unflappable at all but again it depends on what and the situation and i dont really know what others see, like, I obviously know I have feels but its my own head.
Serious types are solemn and not given to emotional expression. They are realistically aware of their own capabilities but they are also aware of their limitations. They are not tempted by vanity or self-importance. They hold themselves responsible for their actions. They=re thinkers, analyzers, evaluators, ruminators and will always play things over in their minds before they acting. Serious individuals anticipate problems and when the worst happens, they=re prepared to deal with it. Serious individuals are realists. They see the hard, harsh nature of life clearly. They have no illusions and are incapable of imagining a silver lining. They are no-nonsense people particularly suited to hard times, when their ability to push on can help everyone to survive. They always work hard and provide for others without any sense of heroism or pride in their efforts. Even though they can seem joyless, Serious types are not necessarily unhappy. They take great satisfaction in their view of the universe. They are interested in serious subjects, which they find reassuring, and they find no need to escape into pleasure. Serious people are intensely hard workers, dependable, and trustworthy. They persevere whether or not they are enthusiastic or well rewarded. This can make it all too easy for employers to take advantage of them. They do not expect encouragement or to be treated well by others. Although they are not socially outgoing, once they do connect with others they form very stable, long-term attachments. They tolerate the rough spots in relationships well. They are as critical of others as they are of themselves, but their fault-finding gives them no pleasure. They deeply regret causing any pain . Others who continually insist that they change into optimistic outgoing, happy-go-lucky people cause them great stress but their characteristic cynicism helps them to cope.
ARGH  that “I’d rather see the world as it is than sugercoat it for feelgoodsyness” thing can be so hard to explain to people. I try to be realistic about my abilities & place in the world and aspire toward realism. (and when I’m already stressed out optimism will only serve to make me feel pissed or misunderstood. Unfortunately my mom is the exact opposite, leading to a few regrettable outbursts and isunderstandings, though not major ones. )
The work ethics part doesn’t really apply tho.
Conclusion: Ugh I am such an INTP 5.
I also scored somewhat high for ‘Leisurely’ (Fuck authority sweetheart ~ ) and ‘Vigilant’ (Yay self-sufficiency, though it’s more a horizon to strive for than something I’ve fully realized yet)
That was the 14 trait model tho, the 16 trait one also has this:
Artistic
·                   Mood swings. Shifts from a moderately upbeat, outgoing, creative character to a withdrawn and sullen depressive one. When in a high state, they can be highly productive, original, humorous, and engaging. During a low state they become self-absorbed, pessimistic, apathetic, and may resort to substance abuse. The mood swings happen regularly in cycles, are similar to bipolar (manic-depression) disorder, but not as extreme in the polarity, and also the mood changes in the Artistic personality are usually more so the result of within the person and not triggered by external circumstances.
·                   Artistic inclinations. People of this style often involve themselves in some sort of creative output. They may go into a state of inspiration where artistic production is strong then fall into an apathetic daze, where it becomes difficult, almost unbearable to create art. Since they have a grasp on many corners of the human personality, they have an advantage at expressing the nuances of a particular viewpoint. Many of the world's great artists have had this character style.
·                   Unpredictability. They may take up new plans, jobs, residences, etc. out of impulse. They despise routine and love improvising, stimulation, and new experiences.
·                   Feeling-oriented. Their impulses and feelings control their lives and dictate their appearance and decisions. They rarely make decisions through a systematic, logical follow-through approach but instead base it on their current mood.
·                   Relationship difficulties. Relationships can be trying for these people. They may become promiscuous, unfaithful, or difficult to handle.
·                   Low self-control. They have a difficulty saying "no" to themselves with their appetite. They may go on shopping sprees, binge on food or drink, give into sexual compulsions, etc. Afterwards, they may feel guilty about it and restrict themselves from pleasure.
·                   Shaky self-confidence. Can swing from delusions of grandeur and superiority, and feeling very confident in oneself, to a loss of self-esteem and hopeless despair.
Aaah now here’s a place for my inner emo child and inner gushy nerd fangirl to find a home. I’d wedge it in lower than ‘Idiosyncratic’ but higher than serious. It actually coexists with the above stuff surprisingly well (It’s called “TiNe” or “5w4″)
On the positive, this personality test is the first (except maybe Divergent, but the tests do give me Erudite nearly as often as Candor depending on how absolute the questions are worded. ) to refrain from outright calling me a NEEERD.
So, thanks oldham?
Also, now I know the precise kind mad I might end up as if I happened across severe trauma, brain chemistry goof-ups or lovecraftian abominations (Please let it be the latter). That is one interesting tidbit of information.

Review #4 - Conflagration
Conflagration Author: Tessa Teevan Genre: Contemporary Romance Rating: ★★★★½ Recommendation: worth reading; might read again Summary: Ariana is running away from her life. Ariana gets into a car accident that Branson saves her from. But in fact, it’s Ariana that’s saving Branson as he attempts to make up for all his mistakes, which have somewhat estranged him from his family.
Female Lead: I didn’t have a problem with Ariana, but I didn’t find her to be a character that stood out in my mind. She’s smart; she’s an accountant; she’s trapped in a relationship that she thinks she wants but only really because it’s what her family wants. I sympathize with the idea that Ariana hasn’t been able to pursue her own passions and isn’t even really sure what they are. She could be considered a passive lady—that is, until she takes control of her life for the first time by becoming a runaway almost-bride. But even after that and throughout most of the development of her relationship with Branson, she is rather passive. I don’t hold that against her, though, because it actually allowed Teevan to write in some nice character development, albeit that flaw was resolved a little too quickly.
We can see that Ariana is generally a caring and compassionate person—starting from the flashbacks when it’s revealed that Ariana and Branson have previously met to her second note after their fight to the very end when she supports Branson becoming CEO when he was ready to give it up for her. But honestly, there’s nothing much else to her character. Don’t get me wrong, compassion is an amazing quality to have, but that seemed to be it. What else is there about Ariana? Give me more of her personality. Sure, she enjoyed the Dave and Buster’s date and is fun but not overly competitive, but what else? (On a side note, SERIOUSLY? DAVE AND BUSTER’S? I can enjoy an arcade game or two, but if a guy takes me to Dave and Buster’s on our first official date, it’s not looking up for that guy.) I just wanted more of Ariana’s personality. She was a little to bland for me. Although, she did punch Branson’s ex-wife in the face. That was amazing. That’s what I want to see more of—not Ariana being aggressive and violent but a multi-layered character with different facets. I just wanted to know more about her, but Teevan didn’t quite develop this character the way she did with Branson. Male Lead: Oh, Branson. This is alpha male done right for me. He’s definitely on the more possessive side, but it kind of works. He’s made mistake after mistake with his family, which includes marrying his brother’s ex-girlfriend when it was pretty clear that such a relationship between those two individuals wouldn’t last. At first when I was reading all the dumb and bad stuff that he’s done, I was very skeptical about whether or not I would accept his redemption arc. Turns out, yes, I did in fact accept it, and not only that, but I ended up loving Branson a lot more than Ariana.
Teevan does a good job of making sure readers understand all the mistakes Branson has made and thus why he is a workaholic and doesn’t consider himself a good guy or a hero. He struggles with the idea of getting what he deserves because he’s been unintentionally burned before. He thinks he knows what he deserves—the CEO position of his family’s company—but almost doesn’t get it. He thinks he deserves being iced out by his family for constantly making horrendous decisions regarding women who are/have been previously attached to his younger brother. Branson needs and wants to work back into everyone’s good graces and that’s an admirable quality.
And again, alpha male done right. Yeah, he’s possessive and gets jealous easily. But also, the sheer fact that he basically could not deal with the idea of not physically being around Ariana all the time, I personally loved that. Yes, I know it’s probably healthier for individuals in relationships to have separate alone time, but I just love the idea here Branson quite literally could not go on without Ariana—that he would rather work at home because that’s where she was, that he freaking called and texted her every hour after their fight. He’s desperate for her, and I kind of really love it. Plot & Writing: Let’s talk about this engagement thing first. We get our fix of the fake relationship trope. It worked well for me at first when Ariana blurted out that lie to see Branson in the ICU at the hospital after he saved her from the car accident. But then after that? Like when they went to Branson’s house for the first time together and the dude was like ‘hey, let’s start a real relationship and just be engaged for now because we already lied to my parents and when we’re done being in a relationship, the engagement will be off.’ Was the whole purpose of keeping the engagement continuous in the story really because they didn’t want to tell Branson’s parents the truth? Like, I guess I can go along with that. I personally feel like the engagement was thrown in there and nothing was done about it. Teevan could’ve utilized the engagement in the plot more and then maybe I wouldn’t question it as much. It wasn’t a bad idea, again because it worked out in the beginning, but I felt she kind of just left the plot device hanging when she could have potentially done more with it.
Other than that half fake engagement thing going on, there wasn’t much of a juicy/intense plot line. The story was primarily focused on Branson’s redemption arc and the development of the relationship between the two leads. I did enjoy this for the most part. You get your conflict in its usual spot towards the end of the book, but Teevan generally focuses on saving her characters—more Branson than Ariana, I would say—and building that fire between them. Good thing that the chemistry between the leads was great. There was no grand and intricate plot on the horizon, but the relationship between Branson and Ariana still propelled the story and kept the ball rolling.
One last thing, and this is one of those things I’m going to say every single time (if I remember) if/when it comes up in any books that I read/review. Okay, well, actually two things here. First, USE PROTECTION. Jesus, use protection. I don’t care how into the other person you are. I don’t care that Ariana and Branson technically met once before. They don’t know each other. They never asked about sexual histories or birth control or anything. Yeah, I know it’s not sexy or fun to do so. I don’t care. I have two degrees in health and science. USE PROTECTION. And side note, pull-out method? Jesus, I’ve read a lot of books that use this and like the guy miraculously actually pulls out every time. Again, me, two health and science degrees. The real world does not have the same track record as fiction. Use a condom, okay?! Second, I’m like 90% sure Teevan used Ariana getting sick with the flu and taking Tamiflu as the reason she got pregnant once they actually started using protection. Uh, I’m not up to date on my medical articles, but I don’t think Tamiflu is one you have to worry about if you’re on birth control pills. I know mixing some random medication with the pill is a common device used in stories and getting that surprise pregnancy in there when the couple was sure they were safe. But I’ll give a slight pass on this one since I could be wrong. Still, the moral of my rant here is USE PROTECTION.
Secondary Characters & Plots: The Wellington family seems pretty cool despite Branson’s past mistakes with them. I loved that he and Knox, his brother, patched things up and that Knox made him the best man of his wedding. Yay for redemption and putting the past in the past and brotherly relationships! Also kudos for Branson’s dad for coming around not only by giving Branson his grandmother’s ring to give to Ariana, but also for realizing that a name doesn’t make a CEO and deservingly giving the title to Branson to neatly wrap up that storyline.
Ariana’s sister, Alyssa, seemed nice. Tolerable given the rest of her family was very much the opposite. Megan, Branson’s ex-wife, and Benjamin, Ariana’s ex-fiancé, were not good people, but predictably so. Teevan made all her secondary characters play their part well, though, so no complaints.
Favorite Part(s): The smallest thing, but I loved the moment when they’re in Branson’s house for the first time and after his parents leave, Branson won’t let go of Ariana so they just curl up together on the couch and watch TV. It seems like the scene wouldn’t matter, but it’s actually very telling of both the characters individually and the relationship—that Branson is an alpha male and unwilling to part with who he has basically claimed as his, that Ariana is willing (and a little passive) by giving up breaking out of his hold, and that they’re so comfortable there together. Major props to Teevan there for making something so small and seemingly insignificant into amazing insight on the characters and their relationship.
Final Thoughts: I think pleasantly surprised is how I would use to describe my final reaction to Conflagration. I didn’t expect to like Branson, but I did. I didn’t expect to get invested in the relationship between him and Ariana, but I sure did. Teevan kept the story flowing nicely, and there was a never a moment where I wanted to skip ahead or stop reading. The relationship between Ariana and Branson is quite nice and what ultimately sold the book for me.
