calling bernardo inhuman and a "misogynistic brute," & saying that it makes it hard to root for any of the sharks? ohhhh do NOT piss me off (she goes on to call the jets "human" and "flawed" with no mention of their own toxic masculinity, misogyny, racism, and xenophobia btw)

Roasting my ex in the Instagram stories they can see it? No no no I don't do that. I am an adult. And like the adult I am, I roast them in a private server with friends I trust, where they can't see it

Heaven is bulletproof [rd]
Author’s note: dad!Rúben makes me feel SICK, I need to have his babies 😩 thank you to the anon who requested this, I hope you enjoy it! Mwah mwah
(Also I woke up a bit ago and proofread this in a rush, so there might be typos)
Wc: 3123 - English is not my first language! Feedback is always appreciated
Tumblr media
Rúben has been tired. Even more than just “tired”, he has been exhausted, lately. He was used to having his days filled with practice and recovery sessions, but he was not used to doing all that and having to come home to a very pregnant wife, who could barely walk through the house sometimes - the swollen feet and the back pain being unbearable most of the days. Being eight months pregnant was really taking a tool on you.
On top of all that, he still had to deal with the hormones and the mood swings. God, Rúben had already lost count to the crazy amount of times that he came home to a crying wife. He would get so worried, asking you what happened while seeing you crazily sob about something that must have really upset you.
“We didn’t ate this banana yesterday and now it’s rotten” - you would innocently cry your eyes out, feeling so emotional, irrationally feeling sorry for the poor banana that was going to waste.
Rúben would sigh at your reactions - not because he was done with them, but mainly because of how exhausted he feels. It’s clearly not your fault, he knows it. He’s so grateful that your body is going through so much to prepare your baby to this crazy world. But he just wishes that things could be a little easier now.
His routine has been mental. He can’t barely sleep an entire night anymore, due to you constantly waking up and moving around in bed, not being able to find a position to sleep in without feeling pain. He wakes up feeling tired already, makes you breakfast, gets ready to go to the training center, comes back, does all the domestic chores and everything you need. It’s just too much. He’s been managing to deal with it, but he can’t deny that this chaotic routine really is destroying him - both physical and mentally.
If the man can’t have any rest, how can he play at the same level that he used to? Right, he can’t.
His performance has been getting worse, he couldn’t focus on the game, his tackles got sloppier, he couldn’t do anything straight on the pitch. He knew it, Pep knew it, you knew it. Pep would now put him in the bench in most of the games, and just that fact alone makes Rúben fully frustrated.
He’s been trying to keep it cool, to stay calm and collected, but his mind has been driving him crazy, he would always feel anxious lately and his bad mood was present at all times.
When he was around you, he tried his best not to disturb your peace, but he feels like he needs to vent - to talk to somebody about the huge turn that his reality took in just a couple of weeks. He reaches to his team mate and also one of his best friends, Bernardo - him being a father as well. He could try and talk to you, but you probably would just feel guilty about it and cry in response.
He spoke to Bernardo about how tiring this last month has been to him, how he wished he could just stop the world for a second so he could have a break - but he can’t. Everything is his responsibility now, and on top of that, he’s been getting a lot of hate lately from the fans, due to his lack of performance. People claim that he’s been showing “no professionalism” lately, and that makes him sick.
Bernardo advised your husband to talk to you about how he felt more often. You are tired and scared, but Rúben is too.
You started noticing changes in his behaviour - he doesn’t seemed so happy about this baby anymore. He would still help you with everything you needed, but now he had an attitude and a temper that would silently make you cry when he wasn’t home.
So, you decided to talk to him about it. He arrived home from his game, you assumed that he would come back in a good mood, since they won. Rúben played the second half, making an okay performance - definitely not the worst you’ve been of him this season.
Still, he came home with his face scrunched up in a worried expression - the only one that paints his face regularly now. He gets near you on the couch, kisses your head and gently touches your belly. It’s been like this for the last weeks. He doesn’t talk much, doesn’t give you as much affection as he would before. He leaves you in the living room, and goes to the kitchen - probably to start making dinner for you two.
You try your best to get up from your seat, even with the crazy amount of pain that you’ve been feeling lately, and follow him to the kitchen.
“I think we need to talk” - you blurted out to him. He looks up at you with his eyebrows lifted up, signalling you to continue speaking.
You take a deep breath and try to calm your anxiety and shaky hands, feeling like you could cry just by the thoughts that are going through your brain now - fuck you hormones.
“Uhm, I’ve been noticing that you’ve been a bit different with me and…” - you try to speak but your voice is already trembling.
“… and I just want you to be honest. If you don’t want me anymore, I can leave” - you try your best for your words to sound clear.
“What?” - Rúben asks with his face totally scrunched up in confusion.
“Leaving? What are you taking about?” - he sounds completely surprised now.
“Well, you’ve been acting weird, doing things with an attitude. You’re not as loving as you used to be and it changed very quickly. I don’t know what happened but I’m just begging you to be honest with me” - you’re fully crying now, hating yourself for being so emotional, but you really can’t stop this feeling in your chest that tells you that you might lose the love of your life at anytime now.
His heart breaks at the sight in front of him. Despite all the times when he tried so hard to not annoy you with his problems, he ended up doing worse: made you feel like he doesn’t love you anymore, doesn’t want you anymore. He reaches out to hug you tightly, engulfing you in his arms - the only place you can call ‘home’.
“I’m so sorry, babe” - he says, his voice with a hint of pain and shaking a bit too, now. He kisses your head and caresses your hair as you try to calm yourself down.
“What’s going on? Please, just tell me” - you beg him, as you clean the tears from your face.
He sighs, as he directs you sit on the sofa again, wanting you to be comfortable.
“I have just been really tired lately” - he admits as you two sit down.
“Is that what’s causing your attitude? Is it because you haven’t been getting much sleep? Is it because I move too much-“ - he tries to stop your rambling.
“Amor, I think it’s the fact that everything is happening at the same time. It’s you, the baby, the training, the actual games, the house chores, the lack of sleep, the constant hate comments on social media now… it’s like all eyes are on me, now. I have a thousand things to do by the hour, it’s just getting too much” - he explains softly, allowing some tears to run down his face now, something that rarely happens.
Just like he thought, you are feeling guilty about it, he can see it in your face. He caresses your back softly, trying to get rid of the pain there and the guilt that’s now pooling in your head.
“Why didn’t you talked to me before? Before things got this out of hand” - you asked.
“I didn’t wanted to disturb you. You are almost 9 months pregnant now, preparing yourself to bring our baby into this world. I didn’t wanted to upset you by talking about how tired I am, when I know for sure that you’re feeling a thousand times worse than me” - he continues caressing your body, lovingly looking you in the eyes.
“Still, Rúben. You should’ve come to me. I know I can’t help that much right now, but we would’ve found a solution. Like the house chores thing, we could hire someone to come here and do all the cleaning for us. That would help a bit already. And you really need to rest, so I can sleep on the guest room for a night or two, I don’t mind. That way you might actually have a full night of sleep” - your mind rushes to try and solve all the problems he listed earlier.
“Y/N, you don’t have to do that. I don’t want you to move to another room, there’s no need for you to sleep alone. What if you need something?” - his “always worried and protective” veneer now showing.
“If I need something, I scream until you wake up and hear me. If I don’t need anything, at least you sleep the entire night, without having to constantly wake up because of me always moving around” - you give him a reassuring smile, while holding his hand in yours now.
“Thank you. You’re right, I should’ve talked to you earlier, but I guess I was embarrassed. Didn’t wanted you to think that I was complaining about being more tired than you - the actual pregnant one, and I ended up fucking it up more. Did you really thought I didn’t wanted you and or baby anymore?” - he almost flinches at the words that came out of his mouth.
“Well, I didn’t knew what to think. Everything was okay and in this last month and a half I believe, everything got so different. I thought you didn’t liked the idea of us having a baby anymore” - you confessed with a sad tone.
“Babe, there’s nothing that I want more in this life than to have our baby with us. I want to hold him, while kissing you and tell you both how much I love you. You are my life, my family, Y/N. And if it’s not the two of us, it doesn’t make sense” - he gives you a loving kiss on the lips.
“We are each other’s home, remember? We are the other’s safe place. Don’t be afraid to open up for me, babe. I’m always by your side” - you tell him before you two kiss again.
Rúben complied to the solutions you’ve found. A nice and gentle lady comes by everyday to clean and organise the house, and Rúben has been spending some nights on the guest room - earning his well deserved rest. His mood started to get better, him feeling a little lighter. His performance on the pitch got better as well, and the hateful comments subside.
One day, when he was doing a recovery session after a game, his phone started ringing and he immediately picked up as he saw it was you calling.
“Hey babe, is everything alright?” - he asked.
“Rúben, you have to come home right now” - you manage to say, already in pain.
“Why, what happened?” - his voice already sounding worried.
“My waters just broke” - that’s all he needs to hear before he’s running around, gathering his belongings and explaining to the club staff that he needs to leave, that he’s going to be a father.
Rúben rushed to get home, and he saw you curled up in a lot of pain, accompanied by the cleaning lady who didn’t left your side until Rúben arrived.
He thanked the lady for helping you and he gets you in the car as he crazily drives to the hospital.
Once you’re there, everything is happening so fast, it’s like your minds can’t keep track of what’s going on. And it’s when you have to start pushing, that your mind gets tied in a knot, and you can’t react. You do a few light pushes, but the pain is unbearable, and you start doubting your ability to get your baby out.
“This is too much, I can’t. It hurts too much” - you say as you start crying, feeling weak and frustrated.
Rúben is right by your side and he holds your hand tightly.
“Amor, please look at me. You can do this, I’m right here with you, we’re in this together, remember? We’re bulletproof together baby, you’re the strongest woman I’ve ever met, you got this babe” - he motivates you until you start pushing again.
The pain is the only thing you can think about right now, and everything sounds muffled to you. Your ears catch Rúben’s praises as you push harder and harder, just wanting to hold your baby now.
“That’s it amor, you got this”, “you’re doing great love, we’re almost there”, “you’re so strong amor, our baby is almost here with us, just push a little more”
When it’s over, and you finally hear your baby crying, you burst into a crying mess too. Rúben is speechless at what just happened, kissing your head non-stop and looking at your baby while the nurses get her cleaned up.
It’s a girl. Matilde. Means “mighty in battle”, and she really made you two fight everything and everyone to keep sane in the last couple of months. She is the reason of everything now, you’re living a full circle moment when it all makes sense.
“You’re so strong, baby, I am so proud of you” - Rúben whispers in your ear, himself getting emotional now too.
You hold your baby for the first time and you two immediately start crying at the sight of her. So tiny, so adorable, so harmless and unaware of all the reality surrounding her. She doesn’t know how loved she is yet, she doesn’t know that she came to unite her mom and dad even more - if that was even possible.
After a while, you feel yourself drifting off to sleep, your body aching and tired from the labour. Rúben relaxes you, telling you to sleep without a care in the world, while he looks out for your daughter.
Rúben takes his shirt off, wanting to feel the skin to skin contact with his baby. He holds her gently and incredibly near his chest. He doesn’t want to put her in her crib, feeling completely drunk off her daughter, her smell, her touch, the new feeling that he now has in his chest. He’s holding his entire world in his arms right now, nothing matters anymore.
He gives her little kisses on her forehead and admires her features. The little hair that she has on her head, her little pointy nose just like her father’s and her big brown eyes. The baby looks attentively at Rúben as well, like she’s studying him too.
“Hey amor, it’s your dad” - he smiles at her, introducing himself.
“You’re so beautiful, even more than I could have ever dreamed” - he gently caresses her cheek with his index finger, making the baby smile.
Rúben can’t stop the tears from flowing slowly down his face. He’s in awe with his baby, looking so precious and perfect in his embrace.
“Mom and dad love you so much already, you have no idea” - he starts explaining to the newborn. “These last two months were a bit hard on us, you gave mommy a lot of work and pain, but it’s all worth it now” - he kisses her one more time, unable to stop himself.
“You were so desired, amor. We dreamed about having you for so many times. When your mommy was asleep, I would always hold myself as close as I could to her belly, where you were, so I could feel you moving next to me. I would always imagine how you would look, how would your personality be like. I would cry myself to sleep sometimes, anxious to meet you, doubting if I was going to be a good father to you.
And I promise you now, Matilde, I am going to give you this world and more. But listen, I am not going to spoil you with the newest iPhone, because I want you to value the greatest things in life. I am going to take you on adventures, I am going to show you new countries, other cultures, different realities. I’m teaching you everything I know about respect, loyalty, discipline and kindness. I’m going to play princesses with you, take you to football games of course, teach you how to play the guitar - like I learned a few years ago when we were on lockdown because of this boring virus. Anyway, that’s a story for later.
I promise I’ll always be your best friend, meu amor. I am going to teach you portuguese so we can gossip without your mommy to understand a word” - he laughs quietly at how silly he sounds.
“And you can talk to me about everything. And I mean everything, Matilde. You can talk to me about your friends, your insecurities, your fears, your mistakes. I don’t want you to be like those kids nowadays, that keep things hidden from their parents. I am here to help you and protect you, baby, it’s my life mission now. You can even talk to me about boys - but you better know that you’re only allowed to date when you’re 40 years old” - he smiles at the baby who looks at him like she’s understanding every single word he’s telling her.
“You’re my world, meu amor. I love you more than life, and I’ll never stop proving it to you” - he kisses her once again as she now grips his finger with her entire hand, looking incredibly small next to Rúben’s.
His world stopped. He doesn’t hear any sound except her baby’s, he doesn’t see anyone else beside her and her mom. He finally has his family reunited like he dreamed for so many times. And now, he doesn’t care about sleeping, he doesn’t care about mean comments. He doesn’t care about anything else.
What truly matters is being strongly held in his arms now, and that strong feeling in his chest will never fade away. Nothing can tear you down when you three are together, and Rúben is just now realising that heaven truly is bulletproof.

players/drivers I write for
70-"you really love her don't you?"
It was almost too obvious for everyone that João was in love with y/n. To everyone but her. A lot of his friends have tried to get him to confess, convincing him that she shares the sad feeligs as him, but he was too scared to do that.
They met through mutual friends. y/n was a close friend to almost everyone on the Portuguese National Team. João and y/n specifically met in 2019, after Portugal won the UEFA Nations League, in the after party. They seemed to click immediately and have been close friends ever since. but João couldn't help but feel something more for her, hoping she would feel the sane but also afraid to ask her about her own feelings
The team had a reunion after the 2022/2023 season was over. Training together for some friendly matches against other teams.
y/n thought she'd pay them a visit at one of their training sessions. As soon as she stepped on the field, her eyes met João's. He smiled widely at her, his face lighting up as soon as she smiled back at him. He was about to walk up to her before someone beat him to it. That someone being Ruben Dias. Someone João would never admit to anyone that he is jealous of.
y/n's eyes averted from João when someone stood in front of her. She looked up and saw Ruben, one of her closest friends aside from João.
"Ruben! I missed you" she hugged him tightly, him doing the same thing back
"I missed you more angel" he said into her hair.
She laughed at the nickname, only making him smirk back
"to what do I owe the visit? you suddenly remembered you knew a Portuguese football team?" he joked, making her laugh, her eyes averting to João for a spilt second, noticing his gaze at them, before she looked back at Ruben
Ruben glanced back at where she was looking, only to see João glaring at him.
"ohh you came to see your boy" Ruben smirked making y/n snap her eyes towards his with burning cheeks
"my boy? we're just friends" she shrugged her shoulders, avoiding Ruben's intense gaze on her
João was wondering why y/n was blushing so hard. What has Ruben said that made her that shy? He felt a knot forming in his stomach. What if she ends up dating Ruben and forgets about him? What if he never gets to see her again because Ruben wouldn't allow that? What if he ends up losing her forever?
He didn't want that. Not now not ever.
He hasn't realized he was still staring at her until Bernardo Silva came and nudged his shoulder
"stop staring João" he said, making João turn his eyes away from the girl.
"I'm not staring" he mumbled under his breath, playing with the ball between his legs
"oh you so are. tell me what's with the frown" Bernardo insisted, making João let out a sigh
"its just...y/n seems to really enjoy Ruben's company. And I'm just scared that she might forget about me if she starts dating him. I mean I know he's better looking and older and stronger or whatever but I just...I don't want to lose her" he confessed, his eyes being fixed on y/n the whole time.
Meanwhile, Bernardo was looking at João with a smile on his face
"you really love her don't you?" he said, smiling as if he's the one in love
João's cheeks only turned red in respone, nodding his head slightly
"yeah I do" he mumbled, looking up at y/n, only to see her looking back at him. She smiled and waved, before she atrted walking to him
João started to panic not knowing what to do.
"don't panic. Just tell her you love her and everything will be fine" Bernardo tapped his shoulder before walking away
"hey João. how are you handsome?" she asked, wrapping her arms around his neck. He hugged her back tightly, before they both pulled away
She was about to say something, but was interrupted by João
"I love you" he blurted out, and the look in his eyes told y/n he wasnt just saying that as friends
y/n stood there in shock before she was able to talk
"you do?" she asked, still in shock
"yes. and seeing you with Ruben earlier, all red and blushing made me realize how much I love you and don't want to lose you" he confessed, feeling a weight shift off of his shoulder
"you're such a dumbass. the only reason I was all red was because Ruben called you 'my boy' and that I only came here to see, but between us, you are the reason I came here to day. and I love you too you idiot" she said, making him grin widely
He hugged her tightly again, before pulling away and quickly attaching his lips to hers. Before she had the chance to kiss back, João pulled away and ran to Bernardo, just to tell him what he did.

What aspect make two people very toxic when they are with eachother (to others not eachother). A couple in my school will constantly laugh when you walk by them or sit near them or ever comment something rude i know the girl from before since we were little and she was not this mean before and no its not only them doing this to me a lot of other people have been in problems with them too.
SYNASTRY INDICATORS OF BECOMING TOXIC TOGETHER
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Based on my own personal experiences and observations.)
Composite Chiron in the 1st house: Ive written about it HERE. Ive seen this irl and it can get nasty. I know a couple who have this and oh how they bully people together. Both of them super nice without the other but when they are together its just horrible.
Moon in the 8th house/Moon conjunct Pluto: They draw out the worst in eachother. These two can become VERY toxic together. They forget all about morals and shame when they see eachother. This the most common synastry aspect between people who kill someone together. Sorry not sorry. Karla Homolkas Moon is in Paul Bernardos 8th house.
Moon conjunct Lilith: This can create this ”you and me against the world” kind of relationship and if mixed with other harsh aspects can make the two very toxic together. The world did them dirty and they bond through it. The real Bonnie and Clyde had this in synastry.
12th & 8th house synastry: These houses have a habit of making people draw out the hidden in eachother. You will show the other a side of you that you dont show others. IF someone have potential for becoming really toxic and bad this in synastry will definitely draw it out. Especially with Moon here, these overlays seem to draw out something very creepy and disturbing in the Moon person.
Prey(6157) conjunctions in synastry or composite: This will either make one of them see the other as Prey but it can also make them Prey on others together.

Ruben Dias x Reader - The Houseguest (Part 2)
Tumblr media
Summary - A three part series where the reader and family goes on a chaotic holiday with Ruben as their guests.
Enjoy
Yeah, last night was most definitely a dream. You woke up the next day and Ruben was nowhere to be find and no one in your family had even heard of him.
"He's like 6 feet, braud shoulders."
"Sounds like you dreamt that shit."
"Anita." Your mother slapped your sisters hands.
"Ouch Mamãe. Whatchu do that for?"
"Don't make your sister feel bad for having wet dreams."
"It wasn't a wet dream." You groaned.
"Wet dream? Who's having wet dreams?" Tomas overheard your conversation upon entering the kitchen. He was shirtless and you would be impressed by the fact that he has been working out, if it wasn't for Ruben. Last night wasn't a dream, there was a six foot man making laps in the pool. He was as tall as a tree and had the most handsome eyes/abs.
"Y/N. She says Bernardo's friend woke her up last night swimming around the pool."
"Bernardo's friend?" Tomas frowned. "Wasn't he supposed to arrive later today?"
"Exactly. Bernardo is probaly picking him up as we speak. Stop watching wierd movies before bed Y/N. You'll have less wet dreams, trust me. "
"I give up." You sighed. "No one believes me anyway."
"There there, let's not argue about who is right or wrong." Your mom said. "Your father wants us to meet him at the yacht festival down by the marina."
"Don't tell me he's buying a boat?" You said.
"No, your father just likes to dream. We will be joining him for lunch."
It was the perfect day for it. The sun was out and a lot of people roamed the Portimão marina. You couldn't help feeling like a third wheel though. Your mother and father walked ahead, arm and arm, whilst your sister and Tomas went off to have their pictures taken in front of a giant yacht. What's so impressive about a boat the same size as a house?
"Psst... Y/N." Somone hissed.
"Huh?" You shifted your head but to no use.
"Overhere."
"Where?"
You were talking to a ghost. It almost sounded like the voice was coming from above you.
"Look up!"
You raised your head to see "Ruben?" hanging off the railings of one of the boats.
"Care to join me?" He smiled.
"You're real!" You wanted to exclaim. "What are you doing here, on this boat? Is it yours?"
You came around the large fleet. Ruben waited to assist you to hop on.
"My uncles actually." He said, stretching out a hand, helping you cross the bridge from the docks.
"Why is it here, parked on the docks? Is it appart of the festival?"
"No, actually it's kind of my way of helping your brother out."
"Help Bernardo? How?"
"Well..." Ruben's smile looked devious. "Turns out this mystery girl of his has expensive taste in men and...."
"Let's me guess." You interrupted. "Bernardo is pretending to be the owner of this boat."
"Oh, he's told you of his plan?"
"No, but I know my brother." You sighed.
"Good, then you know that..."
Emerging, voices interrupted.
"But Pãi, wouldn't you rather enjoy lunch in a nice restaurant than on a boat?"
"No."
"But Pãi."
It sounded like your dad and...
"Bernardo?"
"Y/N?"
"Ruben?"
"Mr Silva."
It was a bit of a mess, with your dad pushing past you to get to Ruben, greeting him like an old friend. And then there was Bernardo, looking a bit stressed to see you on the boat.
"What are you doing here?" He hissed.
"I'm..." You didn't get to finish your sentence until more voices emerged on the boat. This time it was your mother, Anita and Tomas.
"Where did you go Pãi?" Your mother said, breathless from climbing the stairs onto the top deck.
"I told you I spotted Bernie by the docks and look, it was him." Your dad said.
"What's going on and who's he?" Said Anita, pointing to Ruben.
The top deck of the boat was getting really crowded now, something that made your brother more and more anxious.
"Okay, everyone listen up!" He shouted. "I'm suppose to meet a friend for lunch in about five minutes, so can all of you please get off this boat, like now?"
"Friend? What friend?" Your family exchange confused looks.
"I thought you were having lunch with us?" You mother looked quite hurt by the betrayal.
"No, Mamãe. I told you and dad to meet me at the restaurant, after lunch."
"After lunch?" Your dad snorted. "I'm staying, I wanna have lunch on a boat."
"Then I'm staying too." Your mother said, locking arms with your father.
"Me too." Said Anita, which didn't give Tomas much of a choice.
"Alright, alright, alright!" Bernardo looked to want to pull out his hair. "You can all stay. But when my friend, who also happens to be the love of my life..."
"What!" Your family gasped in unison. Ruben however, turned his head for us not to see him chuckle.
Bernardo rolled his eyes. "When she gets here you all have to play along and say that this boat belongs to me and not Ruben's uncle."
"That's Ruben?" Your sister said, her eyes gazing him up and down. She then looked to you.
"Told you." You grimaced.
"Yes. That's Ruben. Ruben meet my family. My parents, two sisters and their boyfriend Tomas."
"Ex!" You hissed
"Right, right. My sisters boyfriend and my other sisters ex boyfriend. We're a fucked up family, I know. Either way. Five minutes guys. Mamãe, Anita, help me set the table. Y/N, help dad bring the food out and Ruben tell the captain to prepare to get this boat off shore."
It was bizarre, Bernardo bossing everyone around for the sake of sceaming some poor woman. But what didn't you do for your family?
Once his mystery woman arrived you were all off to an exclusive trip on Ruben's uncles luxurious yacht.
"I didn't know you had such a big family Bernie." Bernardo's woman said. Upon meeting her you took back the thought of her being poor in any kind of way, because this woman wore designer from top to bottom. Even her red toe nails were painted with Dior nailpolish. No wonder Bernardo felt the need to lie about his middle class upbringing.
"You okay? You look nauseous?"
The only good thing about this unscheduled boat trip is that you got to sit next to Ruben. He often leaned in to whisper funny comments about this whole situation. Somthing that made Anita but specially Tomas, throw irritating glances your way.
"I'm fine. It must be Bernardo and his lies that's got me feeling bubbly."
You thought that would make Ruben laugh, however he kept looking at you with a serious expression.
"Or you could be getting sea sick." He said. The way his eyes held yours made you blush.
"Pass the chicken, will you?"
Somone kicked your foot underneath the table. Anita. "Ouch." You wheezed. "Whachu do that for?"
"Pass me the salt, will you?"
She was too short to reach it and so you passed it to Tomas instead. For some reason he avoided your gaze, looking over your shoulder to where Ruben sat. Perhaps it was because his arm rested around your chair, making it  look like you two were a couple in front of Bernardo's woman She even made a comment about it.
"So cute. How long have you two been together?"
Perhaps Ruben had caught on the dirty looks thrown your way because he was more than happy to play along.
"Two years." He said, moving his arm to really rest around your shoulder. "I was planning on buying her a ring by the end of this month."
"What?" Your sister gasped.
"Honey?" Your mother said concerned, thinking you had been hiding things from her. Your dad however just found it very amusing. Apparently he knew Ruben and his family very well, something that felt really reassuring to you.
"Some more wine meu amor?" Bernardo said, afraid that his cover would be ruined if we all got to comfortable about things.
"No, wine. I wanna hear more about this not so unexpected proposal." His woman, which name was a Russian one that you couldn't quite pronounce, said. "I love weddings."
"Um...well." She really put you on the spot. Good thing Ruben was a better lier than you.
"We're crazy about each other. No point in beating around the bush. I want to merry her."
"But..." Anita cried, however, sudden movment underneath the table indicated that Bernado gave her leg a kick. To your amusement of course.
"A man that knows what he wants. I like it." The woman said.
"I know what I want." Bernardo said, raising his hand.
Once the conversation switched to dogs and golden beaches Ruben leaned in to whisper again. "You sure you're alright, you look really pale."
Maybe he was right. The air around you seemed to get a bit heated. And so both you ad Ruben excused yourself so that you could get to the leeward side of the ship, where the wind blew less. You leaned your body over the railing incase you'd throw up. Ruben however made sure to keep you steady I'm his arms, preventing you from falling over board.
"What's going on here?"
At one point Anita came looking for you. It wouldn't surprise you if she thought you and Ruben had snuck off to get a quicky in somewhere.
"I think she's sea sick." He said.
"Sea sick?" Your sister frowned but took over Ruben's position of holding you steady.
"I'll go talk to the captain, see if he can turn us back around." Ruben said, disappearing somewhere around the corner.
"You good?" Your sister said, patting your back.
"No." You said, spitting out the bad taste in your mouth.
"You know, if this is your plan to make Tomas jealous or something, it is not working."
"What?" You looked up from the railing and couldn't believe what you were hearing.
"Oh please, I see the way you try to flirt with Ruben in front of him. It's pathetic."
"I don't know what your talking about." You muttered.
"No? Either way he is so out of your leauge."
"Excuse me."
"Y/N?" Said Bernardo. If he, Ruben and the rest of your family hadn't come around deck, you might have thrown Anita to the sharks.
"You okay sis?" He said, finally dropping the rich kid act, to be the brother that you knew and loved.
"Do I look okay?" You sighed. The sea sickness was getting worser and worser with the wind that was picking up. Grey clouds roamed the skies, perhaps there was a storm coming?
"Ruben said that the captain wants us to dock at the next Island, stay there til the storm blows over."
"And when is that?" Anita said, folding her arms with the cold breeze.
"Could be later tonight. But Ruben guesses that it won't ware off until morning."
"Morning?" She frowned. "So we're staying overnight on this boat?"
"There is room for everybody." Ruben assured.
"Yay, a sleepover. I love sleep overs. " Bernardo's woman cheered. "Show me to our room baby."
Bernardo was more than happy to.
"But where are we sleeping?" Anita asked.
"What do you mean." Bernardo frowned. He spoke between clenched teeth. " Do I need to remind you about you position in this?" By position he meant his little lie. "Devide the rooms by couples. Pãi and Mamãe. You and Tomas and Y/N and Ruben."
"Y/N can't stay with Ruben." Anita frowned, behind her Tomas looked to want to utter the same thing.
Bernardo however was being torn by his womans eagerness to get to her room and his baggage of a family. "Of course she can, their about to be engaged." He winked and off he went with his girlfriend, leaving you in a very awkward position with your family.
"Mr Silva I...."
Your dad just shook his head when Ruben spoke, silencing him. "The walls are thin on this boat, rember that son."
"Yes, sir."
"Dad." You groaned. It couldn't get anymore disturbing.
"Pãi." Anita spoke up. "You can't seriously let her share rooms with this man. I mean she barely knows him."
"Nitty, your sister is sick, let her rest." He said, to everyone's surprise.
"Mamãe?" Anita turned to your mother, desperate for her to do something about this.
"Your father is right. Y/N needs to rest." She said.
"But...she's...and he's...
You felt a warm hand caress your back. It was Ruben, helping you up to get you inside. This day really took a turn for the worst, even for your family.

An unbearable fan (Rúben Dias x Reader)
Tumblr media
**So I was requested this the other day and it's kind of funny huh? Me writing from the POV of a Madrid fan. Just in case you didn't know it was fiction, this is the definitive proof 😅 anyways, it’s just banter and a bit of angst and fluff for all of you to hopefully enjoy! ❤️**

There were downsides to any relationship and that included a relationship with a football player. All the travelling, all the emotions that went up and down depending on the result of that specific day…it could be a lot. But when the player didn't play for the team you loved with all your heart, things could get a bit messier.
Luckily for you, Rúben played in England. Your team played in the Spanish League. So the chances of him playing against Madrid were so small…but there still was a chance.
And so when Madrid beat Chelsea and City beat Bayern, it was time for a second semifinal in a row between your team and your boyfriend's. And you hated it.
For the first leg, the teams played at the Bernabéu. Being back there was special for you. And it helped you daydream about Rúben playing there in the future…but for the home team. A girl can dream.
The match ended in a draw and Rúben should have been given MOTM because he drove your attacking players insane. They don't call him "the wall" for nothing.
"Just 1-0 at home, and we're in the final".
"Yeah, good luck with that", you said, rolling your eyes. "My boys were just warming up yesterday. They saved all the magic for the Etihad".
"You lot are really into saving the magic for the last minute. It gets annoying, you know?"
"Not to us!", you shrugged.
The banter continued during the next week but what changed was the nerves you felt. Rúben being in the final was great but you couldn't just root against your team. They had already been in a similar position the previous season and it broke your heart. But also, you were happy he lost and that made you feel like a horrible person. You tried not to show it in front of him but he wasn't dumb.
"Are you wearing that?", he asked, pointing at your outfit.
"Yes. What's wrong with it?"
"You always wear my shirt to matches. But I guess you're just making it clear again you want me to lose".
"It's not that but, it's my team…imagine Madrid and Benfica played each other! You'd want Benfica to win and I wouldn't blame you".
"You don't play for any of the teams. That makes the difference. I get you want them to always win but you should make an exception when they play against me!"
"I'd be happy if you win…".
"I doubt it".
You didn't want to say more because it'd only make things harder to fix later. But driving in silence was going to make you go insane.
"Good luck".
"It almost sounded like you meant it".
"Rúben, I do mean it".
"You mean you want me to do well while my team is destroyed. But it's a team sport. What I do means nothing".
"Tell that to Benzema".
He ignored your comment and left to join the rest of the team without saying goodbye.
Why couldn't they draw another team instead of yours???
Rúben wasn't completely wrong. Whatever happened, you wanted him to be the best player on the pitch. It could be someone else who messed up when your team scored.
And he was one of the best…but then again, so was Bernardo who scored a brace. And Julián only needed a few minutes on the pitch to seal their pass to the final. 4-0, how did that happen?
Apart from Rúben doing well, you wanted just a simple 0-1. No team needed to be humiliated this time. But yours was and it was against one of your biggest enemies. Pep.
When you saw Rúben waiting for you by the car, you noticed his smile and that pissed you off. So you couldn't want your team to win but he could laugh after humiliating you? Bit unfair, that.
"You feeling ok after that?"
Your response was to look inside his trousers' pockets, which confused him. "Did you take Karim out already? Nice, he needs the fresh air".
"You're joking?"
"It's that or telling you to go to hell. I'm trying to be diplomatic".
The day after the match, you were off work so sleeping in sounded like the best way to start your day. By the time you woke up, Rúben was long gone and so you made it to the kitchen expecting it to be empty.
And there was no Rúben there but it looks like he had time to buy, and print, all the newspaper articles about the match before leaving to train. He even checked the Barcelona press to find the most insulting headlines.
But two could play that game.
"Did you read the news today?", he asked when he got back home.
"I've never been a newspaper person. I prefer to get my news from Twitter".
"From Madrid fan accounts? I bet they are real objective".
"Are you a comedian now?"
"Come on…", he said, hugging you. "Forgive me for annihilating your team".
"Should we talk about last season, Dias? Stop it!"
"Such a sore loser", he laughed.
"Well, I'm not used to losing unlike others".
                                      **
The weeks that passed between the semifinals and the final had helped you two forget your little fight. But you were still petty and had a surprise saved for Rúben.
"It's so tiring to pack for just a couple of days. I've checked the weather so many times to bring the right clothes".
"You can always use that as an excuse to go shopping there".
"You're right. But…can you help me? I don't know if this outfit is right for the match?"
When he got there, his smile disappeared.
"I can't stand you".
"Is it good or not?"
"When did you buy an Inter shirt?"
"When I saw the newspapers you left for me".
"It was a joke", he said, annoyed.
"This is a joke too".
"A joke is supposed to be funny".
"Really, Rúben? So you thought I would laugh at what you did to me?"
And it was back to square one. But at least this time you travelled separately. And, even if he pissed you off so much since he beat Madrid, you still wore his shirt to the match. You didn't even wear a Madrid one to the semis and he really thought you'd wear an Inter one now? Silly boy.
But all the jokes and digs meant nothing when you saw him lifting the trophy. Your eyes watered immediately and you couldn't wait to hug him.
"You…you won", you said, sobbing and hiding your face in his neck.
"Yeah, sorry about that".
You both laughed and he held you tighter while you cried.
"I'm really proud of you, you know?"
"Even if I beat your team to win the trophies?"
"Yeah", you said, looking up at him. "Even then. Seeing you after you won just…I didn't expect it to mean so much".
"It means a lot to me that it means a lot to you".
You hugged in the middle of the pitch, forgetting about everyone else.
"Besides, you still have a long way to go to catch us so…we like doing charity work and letting others win every once in a while".
Rúben laughed and shook his head. "You are the most unbearable fanbase in the world, you know?"
"I know. But at least you managed to get one of us to be happy you won today".

Musical fandoms and ingenue hate
Is this really such a problem?
There's a YouTuber named Katherine Steele who mostly makes videos about musical theatre, and who has a small video series in defense of ingenue characters, titled "Why Everybody Hates..."
There are four videos in the series: "Why Everybody Hates Cosette" (Les Misérables), "Why Everybody Hates Christine" (The Phantom of the Opera), "Why Everybody Hates Johanna" (Sweeney Todd), and "Why Everybody Hates Maria" (West Side Story).
Some other sources – like TV Tropes, for example – have cited those videos to talk about why these characters are "widely" disliked.
But is it really true? Of all four of those musicals' fandoms, I've only been deep in the Les Misérables fandom, but from what I've seen people say about the others, I had no idea that those ingenue characters got big amounts of hate!
Being indifferent to the character doesn't count as hate, nor does considering her unoffensive but boring.
Do Johanna and Maria get the same kind of real loathing in the diehard Sweeney Todd and West Side Story fandoms that we see in the Les Mis fandom with talk about "that horrid Cosette," "I hate her with a passion," etc?
There is a lot of visceral, venomous Cosette-hate in the Les Mis fandom, or at least there used to be in the '90s and early 2000s. But it has a cause: Éponine. Immature people hate Cosette because she's loved by Marius, when they want him to love Éponine instead. (And to a lesser extent because she "abandons" her father Jean Valjean, but that's more the novel's Cosette than the musical's.)
I know that there's also some Christine hate among Phantom Phans, which is also love-triangle related: they hate her for choosing Raoul instead of the Phantom.
But I had no idea that Sweeney and WSS fans were venomous about Johanna or Maria – are they?
From what little I've seen of Sweeney fans, I've occasionally seen them call Johanna boring or a Mary Sue (and even then, the context has been "I always thought she was, but then [insert actress here] made me appreciate her"). But for the most part, I see people talk approvingly about how she's more complex than an average ingenue, how she can be played as mentally unstable, etc.
And Maria? Yes, there are the people who can't stand how quickly she forgives Tony for killing Bernardo. (Although that complaint only seems to have become widespread with the 2021 film's release – I remember occasionally reading it in the past, but not nearly as much as now.) But apart from that, and from sometimes seeing people call both Maria and Tony boring, I had no idea that anyone hated her! And if you think she had no characterization but "pretty and nice" until the 2021 film, then you've been giving both the stage version and the 1961 film a shallow surface read! She's always had intelligence, playfulness, passion and strength!
I'd like people who have been deep in the fandoms of these musicals to tell me. Is there really a widespread problem of loud, venomous hate for all these ingenue characters, the way there has been for Cosette in the Les Mis fandom? Or is it really just a few people calling them "boring" now and then, with only the love triangles in Les Mis and Phantom making people nastier about Cosette and Christine?

we're 99.9% sure that portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa was plural.
okay uh disclaimer. we're not a psychology or literature expert by any means. we rarely even read poetry. we only heard of this guy in high school literature class and the thought stuck with us and then we found plausible evidence lmao. also, as a plural system ourselves, we're clearly biased.
and a considerable amount of this post will be sourced from wikipedia. and this is the first time we've made a post like this. please don't come after us I'm just writing this for fun lmao
huge ramble ahead!
who even was that man
Fernando António Nogueira Pessoa (Portuguese: [fɨɾˈnɐ̃du pɨˈsoɐ]; 13 June 1888 – 30 November 1935) was a Portuguese poet, writer, literary critic, translator, publisher, and philosopher, described as one of the most significant literary figures of the 20th century and one of the greatest poets in the Portuguese language. He also wrote in and translated from English and French.
yeah that's who the man was. but what really sparked our interest in him during class and made us wonder if he was plural were his...
✨heteronyms✨
y'know pseudonyms? when someone writes under a different name than their own for whatever reason? these are similar, but the catch is that the different names have different personalities, supposed appearances, philosophies, all that shit.
the term was coined by Pessoa himself, and his heteronyms were written as if they were real people. they had detailed careers, histories, etc. he had at least 70, although I vaguely remember some other source estimating it at around 100.
"but eva, these could just be OCs or something!",
he had 3 main ones though, being Alberto Caeiro (known for interpreting the world as-is, without greater meaning or anything, like some sorta anti-poet), Álvaro de Campos (a naval engineer who even had multiple phases in his philosophy) and Ricardo Reis (who wrote with a lot of structure and rationality, and was very pessimistic).
I predict someone typing. to that, I begin my endless copy-paste + ramble about all the things that make us think the heteronyms were headmates.
I'll throw in a section of a letter Pessoa wrote to some other poet (bolding the parts I find relevant because I don't love walls of text lmao)
How do I write in the name of these three? Caeiro, through sheer and unexpected inspiration, without knowing or even suspecting that I'm going to write in his name. Ricardo Reis, after an abstract meditation, which suddenly takes concrete shape in an ode. Campos, when I feel a sudden impulse to write and don't know what. (My semi-heteronym Bernardo Soares, who in many ways resembles Álvaro de Campos, always appears when I'm sleepy or drowsy, so that my qualities of inhibition and rational thought are suspended; his prose is an endless reverie. He's a semi-heteronym because his personality, although not my own, doesn't differ from my own but is a mere mutilation of it. He's me without my rationalism and emotions. His prose is the same as mine, except for certain formal restraint that reason imposes on my own writing, and his Portuguese is exactly the same – whereas Caeiro writes bad Portuguese, Campos writes it reasonably well but with mistakes such as "me myself" instead of "I myself", etc.., and Reis writes better than I, but with a purism I find excessive…)
so not only does he describe writing Caeiro completely unexpectedly, he also gives the same sort of opinion about his heteronyms' writings that we've seen (and experienced) plural folks give about their headmates' typing or drawing styles.
hell, "writes better than I but with a purism I find excessive" is exactly my opinion of lynn when he does our assignments lmao
the semi-heteronym surfacing when Pessoa is sleepy could be some sorta dissociative state that lets a headmate come through, be it straight-up fronting or passive influence... but I'm probably forcing it too much here.
uhhh here's something on the heteronym thing from some guy called richard zenish. I bolded some parts again
For each of his 'voices', Pessoa conceived a highly distinctive poetic idiom and technique, a complex biography, a context of literary influence and polemics and, most arrestingly of all, subtle interrelations and reciprocities of awareness. [...] Pessoa was often unsure who was writing when he wrote, and it's curious that the very first item among the more than 25,000 pieces that make up his archives in the National Library of Lisbon bears the heading A. de C. (?) or B. de D. (or something else).
"okay.... they could still be characters though"
the heteronyms were aware of and sometimes interacted between themselves. wikipedia's list of Pessoa's heteronyms even has the man himself as a heteronym and pupil of Alberto Caeiro, although I don't feel like going after the source for that bit.
dear hypothetical person I'm quoting here, you're entitled to your opinion. but how about we take, say... a more DID/OSDD-y approach to things? because there's things that hint that Fernando Pessoa's plurality could be traumagenic and/or disordered too.
When Pessoa was five, his father, Joaquim de Seabra Pessôa, died of tuberculosis and less than seven months later his younger brother Jorge, aged one, also died (2 January 1889).
(written by himself about himself:) Nothing had ever obliged him to do anything. He had spent his childhood alone. He never joined any group. He never pursued a course of study. He never belonged to a crowd. The circumstances of his life were marked by that strange but rather common phenomenon – perhaps, in fact, it's true for all lives – of being tailored to the image and likeness of his instincts, which tended towards inertia and withdrawal.
(written by a schoolfellow:) For one of his age, he thought much and deeply and in a letter to me once complained of "spiritual and material encumbrances of most especial adverseness". He took no part in athletic sports of any kind and I think his spare time was spent on reading. We generally considered that he worked far too much and that he would ruin his health by so doing.
so childhood trauma, check...? at the very least this stuff doesn't sound very good for a child's mental health.
Pessoa's earliest heteronym, at the age of six, was Chevalier de Pas. Other childhood heteronyms included Dr. Pancrácio and David Merrick, followed by Charles Robert Anon, a young Englishman who became Pessoa's alter ego.
"I can remember what I believe was my first heteronym, or rather, my first nonexistent acquaintance — a certain Chevalier de Pas — through whom I wrote letters to myself when I was six years old, and whose not entirely hazy figure still has a claim on the part of my affections that borders on nostalgia. I have a less vivid memory of another figure . . . who was a kind of rival to the Chevalier de Pas. Such things occur to all children ? Undoubtedly — or perhaps. But I lived them so intensely that I live them still; their memory is so strong that I have to remind myself that they weren’t real."
oh I just found some spiritual stuff too
the appearance of the first heteronym was after his family members died so that's one thing... and like, that's not just one childhood heteronym but at least four. and well, to me they sound a bit too vivid for your average imaginary friend.
Pessoa's interest in spiritualism was truly awakened in the second half of 1915, while translating theosophist books. This was further deepened in the end of March 1916, when he suddenly started having experiences where he believed he became a medium, having experimented with automatic writing. [...] Besides automatic writing, Pessoa stated also that he had "astral" or "etherial visions" and was able to see "magnetic auras" similar to radiographic images. [...] Mediumship exerted a strong influence in Pessoa's writings, who felt "sometimes suddenly being owned by something else" or having a "very curious sensation" in the right arm, which was "lifted into the air" without his will. Looking in the mirror, Pessoa saw several times what appeared to be the heteronyms: his "face fading out" and being replaced by the one of "a bearded man", or another one, four men in total.
........
man, this wikipedia article is extensive and full of stuff that supports our silly little theory, huh.
yeah, so he attributed it to spiritual reasons which is fair and valid, but... "owned by something else" all of a sudden? the thing with the right arm sounding a lot like partial possession in tulpamancy? seeing his heteronyms' faces in the mirror?
yeahhhh.
(I'm guessing the magnetic aura thing could be some sorta derealization, contributing to the he-was-a-dissociative-system hypothesis, but that's yet another stretch on my part.)
(plus, spiritual plurality is a thing.)
oh! this thing he wrote sounds a lot like it too.
"This tendency to create around me another world . . . began in me as a young adult, when a witty remark that was completely out of keeping with who I am or think I am would sometimes and for some unknown reason occur to me, and I would immediately, spontaneously say it as if it came from some friend of mine whose name I would invent, along with biographical details, and whose figure — physiognomy, stature, dress and gestures — I would immediately see before me."
let's just do a quick google..
am I biased? yes, very much so. but y'know. you can see I have my reasons.
to see if any people with more qualifications than we have think the same about Fernando Pessoa possibly being plural lmao.
...oh, yes. contrary to what we thought a couple years ago when we had that class about the guy, other people have indeed thought the same. and written about it.
keywords "fernando pessoa mpd" give us:
this paper from 2012 (in portuguese) that... well, I *think* it claims he had mpd but it's very convoluted and abstract about it
this little... forum post? from 2009 that quotes a dead link :v
this one seems kinda cool. it regards Pessoa's positive approach to his heteronym-having as a creative condion called Pessoa Syndrome, and later mentions some Multiple Personality Order (not disorder). don't love some of its wording about mental disorders and madness... it's good to see someone consider healthy multiplicity as a thing that exists, though. it also claims Pessoa became someone with multiple personalities through his heteronymic writing, which is yet another possible origin I hadn't considered before for some fucking reason.
this one cites a dissociative process
this one straight up calls it "subject plurality"!
conclusion ig. I'm pretending to be organized here.
other keywords (like "fernando pessoa dissociative") provide some more results :0 but I've been writing this post for far too long now and would rather not read through more odd wording lmao
it really surprises me that wikipedia doesn't mention the possibility at all from what I've read and ctrl+F'ed. I thought we were being a conspiracy theorist about it but then I found even more stuff to back us up, including other people's analyses. so that's nice.
and I think this kind of thing, of plurals of the past, should be talked about more in the community. it's really interesting to say the least.
...
how does one even end a post like this one.
uhh thanks for reading!!

ari and dante movie things (spoilers):
CRUEL CRUEL WORLD for omitting both "I will love you forever, Aristotle Mendoza" and "I love swimming. I love swimming...and you."
I get that a lot of the more homoerotic aspects of Ari and Dante's early friendship were left out in order to preserve the surprise of the ending and keep it a question of if they'd get together but some of those moments were really great ok. And I don't think they needed to tone down Dante's crush on Ari later on, after Chicago, when he's pretty open about it.
Absolute worst change was the moments after they first kiss. Ari would never say those things. He hates his own sexuality, but he never hates Dante's. He may sometimes be awful to Dante because of how Dante makes him feel but he wouldn't lash out in blatantly homophobic ways because of it, he'd just retreat and be mad at himself (and a little at Dante). I really can't get behind this at all.
I liked the inclusion of Ophelia more, that made the end less unexpected. Unsure why she was at the New Year's party with all the family though unless they were neighbours and stuff and not family? (Except Ari's sisters, obviously.)
Including the Bernardo reveal so early was fine except for it makes sense way more after Ari fights Julian. His parents show him the Bernardo stuff because they're afraid of what they see in Ari and how their collective silence makes everyone suffer. Ari is then horrified by everything and realizes how his violence has affected his family. Vs in the movie it's sort of just swept aside as we move onto the Dante of it all.
Also I guess it helped the exposition right at the start to have a photo of Ari with Bernardo but it was such a big point of the book that no one in the family had photos of him anywhere and that hurt Ari and so it's so nice when he takes one to put up and his parents want to put it up where everyone can see it. That was just such a really nice moment and only adding two lines could have made it happen in the movie too so I don't see why not.
Ari's dad doesn't talk really and I guess that was cut for time. I get that had to happen some places, fine. It just makes their "we're talking. Everything's better." far less of a victory since it seems like a one-off thing before they retreat into a slightly easier silence, rather than them fundamentally understanding each other better and understanding how to reach out and communicate, which is how they end things in the book. There you know they'll be OK and talk lots more.
The first scene with the bird, where the boys are shooting it with BB guns was cut also for time and mostly that was fine except for how it removed the part where Dante finds out Ari likes to fight. Which is an important revelation for Dante to have.
Why was Ileana's name changed? That was so unnecessary and Ileana is a beautiful name.
Basically everything with the parents was cut down to the point that they were all pretty 2D characters and I missed them and their friendships with each other and Ari and I guess there just wasn't time but oh what could have been.
DANTE'S GAY-ASS OUTFITS WERE EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING, OK.
Gina and Suzie suffered the same "cut down for time" treatment as everyone else but I missed them also.
I'm not sure how they could have shown it since the whole part is so internal but with the bit where Ari thinks he hates Dante, that was pretty important and they just sort of skipped it. It's a really interesting way to show how internalized homophobia can manifest.
I appreciate that the trans woman mentioned was clearly explained to be a trans woman in a way that made sense for the characters (teenagers fairly uneducated on the topic, in the 80s) but didn't use language now considered offensive and didn't misgender her.
Visually, things were lovely.
Swimming criticism: the second day Ari and Dante go swimming, so after two days of lessons, the previous day on which he learned a back float, Ari races underwater by doing whip kick. No way he'd be able to do whip kick that fast. No one even teaches it that early on, not even random kids who have no official teaching backgrounds.
I always feel in the book like Ari and Dante read a bit young for their age the first summer. That didn't really feel like it was the case here, so that was nice.
It was kind of funny when Dante and co. come back from Chicago and are all "oh my god Ari you look so different" and he looks exactly the same.
There's not so much with Legs and how boys need dogs and dogs are one of the secrets of the universe etc.. I like that stuff.
I did notice all the other bits cut for time and I did miss them all.

I watched the Amazon prime Zorro and it was fun, I enjoyed myself, I liked it. Except for the Zorro casting. And also the main love interest's writing. And the plot kind of goes off the tracks a bit.
But I love Nah Lin the indigenous woman the show ought to have been about because she's the most interesting character. And I liked Mei a lot, and Bernardo. And Mei's little sister was adorable and should have showed up more. And I do like the villainesses.
But I really did enjoy myself. It's in that frustrating spot where they had some really good ideas that could have made it great, but they didn't go all the way with it so it's just okay. But it also didn't mishandle some things as badly as I feared they would. It's cool. It's fun.

It’s the kiddos!
These four are kingdings fankids me and @bernardo-draws-and-cries have had for a while (as in, Bethany and Lancer exist since 2016, Belle and Aster since 2017). I decided to do some small redesigns for them!
Or for their humanized forms, at least. It’s been 7 years and I don’t feel comfortable in delving on their more canon accurate versions (Bê has them)
They’re part of an au we have together, HCWT, they also appear on other aus that we’ve delved into in the many years of kingdings brainrot we had. But HCWT is their main place. That being said, there is a lot of stuff that is muddy/vague since it’s such an old au that we haven’t touched in a few years, and also we’ve done so many iterations of it that it’s hard to know what is canon now. I’m going to be kinda basing it on the original fanfic we had for it for a lot of the basic stuff. (it was written in portuguese so not super accessible for most people reading this)
More information on them below the read more
They all have font names, I’m still surprised that I managed to find fonts for Bethany and Belle after they were created (Bethany Script and La Belle Aurore respectively)
Also they all appear in different ages in the au(s), these are just the most seen ones. Bethany also is shown a lot when she’s five, and both Belle and Aster when they’re older. Sometimes also they are in different age order and stuff, but I’m just going to talk about the HCWT version on the ages shown here. There’s a lot of old stuff for a lot of the other aus in my artblog that i never shown here, This blog actually was originally an ask blog for an underfell au where only Aster and Belle existed.
- Bethany is the oldest, both in creation order and in universe. Her childhood is a bit of a muddy area since we haven’t touched that part of the au in a while, but for now, she was born a few years before the pacifist ending happens. In HCWT we have her being the next one in line for running human-monster deals after Asgore retires from that, I don’t really see Asriel or Chara being too excited to do that, but she’s pretty up for the task.
(Chara and Asriel are brought back in the au also)
She’s a pretty no nonsense kind of person, but she lets herself be a goof around her sibilings, friends and nibilings/cousins (thats a worm hole im not willing to deal with right now). She also has a best friend called Daniel, not pictured here, and she’s a bit of the voice of reason of the two, but she’s often part of the shenanigans. They end up living together a while after.
Very strong also, took it after Asgore, could lift all her sibilings + Gaster all at once.
- Lancer is a bit funny to share with people after Deltarune released, I’m still a bit shocked at this coincidence. Not a lot of what he does is set in stone, a pretty wild card in this sense. Nice, kind kid, helps a lot on Asgore’s flower shop after school and on weekends. He’s blind and got a guide dog named Jack, which does end up being how he meets his girlfriend Berry, who was working as a volunteer when he went to get Jack. I got a very soft spot for him, he’s just a little guy, sunshine impersonated.
- Belle is a big book worm since small, it came from a way to pass the time when she can’t do much physically demanding things, like Aster does. So she spends a lot of time with Gaster, becoming a bit of an assistant to him as she gets older. And while she does look and act pretty chill most of the time, she is an anger bomb, very short tempered. Scary angry little goat-skele. Years later she begins dating a human named Barbara.
- Aster! My baby boy! Liddle man! I love him so much. He’s a very athletic kid, loves sports, grows up to be a manlet, almost a himbo, but he’s pretty smart. They love each other, but he and Belle are the two most likely to butt heads around the house, being the two most hot headed ones in there. He also begins dating some years down the line, with a spider mosnter named Epaminondas (Epa for short).
This is just the tip of the iceberg of HCWT, there’s a lot more in it, but I wanted to focus on these four lil fellas :] Probably not going to share much more stuff about it, if at all here, but this was fun to revisit!
