The exact moment Olaf died 😭😭😭
I never saw this before. When Anna hugged Olaf as he began to flurry away, he (sob!) held on to her arm with both his little wooden hands. But as he faded away, he loses his grip and his right hand drops down limply (😭😭) I think Anna could feel him going limp too. Oh my heart...
His left hand also slips down. His head, which he was cuddling against Anna's bosom, also goes limp and his eyes and his smile fade.
Anyone, how is this depicted in the novelisation?
Or, would anyone who is gifted in writing like to pen a description of this scene? Make it heartbreaking and slay us all.

I finally got around to reading the Frozen 2 Deluxe Junior Novelization. Overall it’s a pretty accurate retelling of the story, with some inconsistencies but also some parts that could definitely be “what you didn’t see” scenes from the movie. It’s up to you whether you want to consider any of these extra scenes as canon; personally, I’d consider it canon as long as it makes sense and doesn’t contradict what we actually see in the movie, and some of the scenes in the novel fit that criteria. I wanted to share the most interesting and poignant ones...
Firstly, the novel describes Agnarr’s flashback about the Enchanted Forest and the history of Arendelle and the Northuldra in more detail.
The next page has a scene that describes what Kristoff and Elsa were doing a little prior to the start of “Some Things Never Change.” I think it reveals some nice character development; for Kristoff, it shows that he takes part in castle activities, even with dignitaries, and for Elsa, it shows that now that she’s comfortable with her magic and doesn’t force herself to suppress it, she gets urges to just let it out, probably to release pent up nervousness after dealing with formal, uptight situations like with visiting dignitaries. It also gives credibility to the fact that she feels more comfortable in natural, wide open spaces like the forest. Going far down the fjord and releasing all the magic brewing inside is Elsa’s equivalent of taking a smoke break, lol.
The next page shows that Elsa had a dream prior to being woken up by the voice, a dream that caused her magic to actually manifest images in snow.
The following two pages aren’t new scenes but they contain beautiful descriptions of both Anna and Elsa’s thoughts during the events of the first Frozen; as they pass the ice palace on the way to the Enchanted Forest, they each think back on those past events and it captures their feelings at the time and their love for each other very nicely.
The next few pages were the most interesting to me since they describe something that would have been very welcome in the actual movie: backstory on what Yelena, Mattias, and the rest of the Northuldra and Arendelle soldiers did for the decades they were trapped in the forest and how they tried countless times to escape.
The below excerpt reveals that Olaf gave Bruni his name. No surprise there!
The next page describes the shipwreck scene in more detail, including additional voices and memories.
This next page isn’t anything new but Olaf has an extra funny line that I thought was golden (though I can understand why it wouldn’t be in the movie!)
Next page has a more descriptive look at Ahtohallan, including additional memories.
And lastly, another scene that would have benefited from being in the movie shows Kristoff, Pabbie, and the Arendelle citizens observing Elsa’s creations melting away after she freezes to death in Ahtohallan. Even if we didn’t see it, it happened to Olaf so definitely would make sense for it to happen with everything else that exists because of her magic. This scene would also explain how Kristoff knew what happened to Elsa. Obviously Anna must have told him when they were walking back to the stone pillars after the mist lifted, or maybe he overheard her tell Mattias what happened when she reached the dam (speaking of that scene, @aboutfrozen2 brought up a good point of how we never saw Anna tell Mattias that Arendelle was evacuated and yet he never questioned anyone’s safety when he agreed to destroying the dam. Another conversation that definitely must have happened off screen, likely when she was talking to him at the Northuldra camp).
The book also included a few color screenshots from the movie, mostly from the trailers. The below image of young Elsa with Iduna was one I don’t recall seeing in the trailers and TV spots (definitely wasn’t in the movie).
I believe this Junior Novelization was the first post-release storybook for the movie that has the actual ending! We should be seeing more soon, hopefully!

Hi everyone, this is Show Yourself - acoustic piano with Idina singing!!
Let me repeat that in big letters:
with Idina singing!!!
I found this vocals-only version of SY on youtube and decided to play the piano along with it.
You may not know it from just listening to the recording, but for me playing the piano while listening to Idina sing, it is ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIFYING as an accompanist!!! It’s almost like Elsa’s right next to me. What a great honour, especially since I’ll probably never ever meet Idina in my lifetime.
Into the Unknown is next!

Headcanon: Elsa and Anna were talking in the wagon and Elsa was sharing how troubled she is by the voice and how worried she was about the kingdom, and whether she was a good queen. Anna took out Iduna's scarf from her satchel (she packed it for this very purpose) and said "I know what you need". And then she lullabied and nose-caressed Elsa to sleep.
And here she is, watching over her sleeping babies.

This is Into The Unknown- acoustic piano with Idina singing!
Big letters again:
with Idina singing!!! (and Aurora)
This is me playing the piano along with the vocals-only version of ITU on youtube.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed recording it!! There is some static heard when the singing is loud, sorry about that, I can’t remove that as I didn’t make the vocal track.
I just love playing the piano “for” Elsa!!!!! It is my great honour, my queen.

Sweet moment
This movie is full of sweet moments. In this short scene, Elsa sees the memory of her mother telling her father about the truth about her past and where she’s from. Observe Elsa glancing back and forth at Iduna and Agnarr and the interactions between Iduna and Agnarr.
1. Iduna is initially looking down, avoiding eye contact, with a worried look on her face. Even though she’s safe in Agnarr’s embrace, her hand is on his chest, ready to push away and keep her distance.
2. As she says “and where I’m from” she looks up to make eye contact with Agnarr, her face tense and worried about what he might say or how he might react. Elsa knows Iduna is about to disclose that she’s actually Northuldran, and shares her mother’s worried look. Her eyes dart to look at Agnarr worriedly, and then back to Iduna.
3. Agnarr says “I’m listening”, moves his face closer to Iduna’s and extends his hand to caress her face. I think he also pulls her closer to himself (there’s a slight flexing of his left elbow) At which point, Elsa makes a little smile. She glances back at Agnarr and notices he is smiling at Iduna.
4. Iduna sees the gesture of love, and the love in Agnarr’s face and she relaxes. She reaches up to hold Agnarr’s hand and tilts her head into his caressing palm, closing her eyes and smiling, reassured and at ease.
5. Agnarr simultaneously draws Iduna even closer to him (if you look carefully there is a slight gap between her bosom and his body, which closes up)
6. Elsa looks back at Iduna and she too is reassured, her smile widens and her expression says “awwwww Papa!! Way to go!!”
